Hello Floozies! I am new and wanna be a floozie too! I am working a Women's Wellness Fair today and will be conducting a session on "Natural Skin Care" as well as providing massage and teaching a Yoga class! There will be mammograms offered for free or low-cost and I am thinking I might have one...I haven't ever but I have a sister who had to have a lumpectomy so I think I should go ahead and do it! I intend to get some gym time in later today and since I'll be busy with the fair stuff from 8am-5 pm, healthy eating will be a challenge! I guess I'll have oatmeal and ricemilk for breakfast. I'll bring some fruit, nuts and carrots and fill up on water to get me through the rest of the day until dinner!
Carol-You and your babies are gorgeous! Are they twins? You are looking great. I am still praying for your parents.
I think Mike's going to be mad at me. I was going to attempt to do some weedeating after my run today and the winder thing came off. I tried to put it back on and when it started running, the whole thing unwound. I wonder if it can be rewound or if I have to get another one? Guess I am just not a yard person!
Shelley Larry said that if you have a cartridge that you can weave the wire through back and forth then weave it through every third spoke. That way it will keep feeding the wire through.
Fat Vegan welcome to the Foozies. We have a great bunch of lovely ladies here. The wellness fair that you are going to today sound like a good time. I highly suggest that you have the mammogram. Better to be safe than sorry. Your bio looks very interseting. I think that you could teach us a thing or too.
Carol what darlings you have for granbabies. How long ago was the picture taken? How old are they now and is that your only grandbabies?
Well it is rainning cats and dogs here and will continue til monday. It is a long weekend for us. Yesterday was hot and sunny but it was just a teaser. That was our first hot day.
Well better get going got lots of things to do today. Hope you all have an enjoyable weekend.
Dee: The grandbabies are not twins. The redhead on the right (Alexis) was born in January to my youngest son. The one of the left (Karli) is my daughter's born in March. I just love to spoil them. The picture was just taken the end of April, so it is pretty current.
I have a total of 16 grandkids. Can you believe! The range in age from 14 to 2 months. Their names are: Summer, Destiny, Lena, Avery, Cara, Jessielynn, Andrew, Ciara, Jonathan, Joseph, Autumn, Logan, Karli, Allison, McKayla and Alexis. I love them all to pieces!
Shelley: I think you deserve kudos for just trying to do the yardwork. I hate weedeating. I leave that to Kevin to do. Thanks for the compliment about me too although I have gained back 30 lbs since I went to the Bahamas 1 1/2 years ago. Now why did I do that.... I worked so hard to lose (lost 55) before the vacation then I turn around and let myself go... sigh*** Back to the drawing board as they say.
FatVegan: Welcome. This is a wonderful group of ladies. You couldn't ask for better friends!!
Carol: GREAT PICTURE! Three sweet little dolls!!! You look so much younger then the picture posted in our photo thread. I can't believe you have 16 grandkids! At what age were you first a grandmother??? I understand the helping out part with the parents... 5 kids and I am the only one around full time. In fact, I wanted to go the end of June with Steve on his business trip I usually attend with him, but I don't think I will be able to... the one brother that COULD help will be harvesting...
Fat Vegan: WELCOME! WELCOME!!! I am interested in holistic health, I think the medical profession takes WAY to much of our money and often the medication is not actually needed that the physicians prescribe. We have a few girls here with pain, maybe you can suggest a natural therapy for them to try??
Shelley: Are you ready for my advice regarding the weedeater???? Place it quickly back in the shed, step back from it and run like ****. Play stupid when Mike finds it... maybe the cat was playing with it? A small isolated hurricane went through?? A ghost decided to help with the yardwork??? Who knows???? LOL!
I continue to stay OP and I am remembering to journal each & every day.... I am not putting in as long as I would like on my walking, but it is a start and even if I'm not marathon material, I am still doing something.
I hope all my Floozie friends are having a great weekend!!
Gayle-You crack me up!! Sounds like the right thing to do, though!
Welcome, FatVegan! I hope your seminar goes well. I just had a lumpectumy a couple of months ago (everything was okay.) I suggest everyone getting a mammogram and don't put it off for 1 minute. You never know what might be happening. I have always been interested in vegetarianism. What do you eat in a typical day?
Dee-I hope your weather gets better. Ours has been hot and humid.
Tried a yummy sugar free/ fat free one from Jello last night called cheesecake. Tasted more like a rich vanilla instead of the cheescake to me, but still very good, not the after taste like some of the flavors.
Gayle-I love that cheesecake pudding. I like to mix it with yogurt. I can't eat the stuff very often though because of my stomach. Sometimes the ff/sf puddings mess me up and send me to the bathroom all night long.
Gayle: I am glad you have an interest in Holistic Health! There are quite a few natural pain remedies, depending on the cause...I will always sggest someone check with their Doctor first and then offer many different natural approaches and therapies that can be done at home! If you can think of anyone directly, ask them to PM me and I'd be happy to assist.
ShelleyM: So GLAD you took care of your health and glad there were no issues with the lumpectomy!
I have had a great day today- went to the gym this morning and will be going back to take my daughter to her kids fitness class and will get a *second* workout in myself today!
Fat Vegan: At the rate your going, we will need to call you Skinny Vegan soon! Carol & Dee from this group suffer terribly from pain, hopefully they may PM you and you may have a few helpful suggestions for them. My daughter has seasonal allergies and ashma, we use Claritin but I have been trying to find a more natural approach, any suggestions?? How old is your daughter???
Shelley, I read just a few minutes ago about taking the BB light 85 yogurt and freezing it, some of the others seem to think it is similar to ice cream. I wanted to try it out but Steve had the last yogurt today. I never heard of mixing yogurt & pudding, sounds good! I mixed a broken up low fat granola bar in my yogurt the other day, it was super good!
Gayle-I forgot to congratulate you on the weight loss! Good job! I just cancelled my WW online. I'm going to see if my weight creeps up. If it does, I'll rejoin. I know that I really need to journal, but I just want to see what happens. If I go over 130 again, I'll be rejoining. Sometimes they email bargains to get you back online. My last day is 5/27. I will still have to WI tomorrow, and I know I'll show a weight gain, because last week I was down 2 lbs. Right now my weight is fluctuating a lot because of my flare-up of UC.
Fat Vegan-What are your suggestions for ulcerative colitis? I have tried probiotics before and they don't do anything for me. The only thing that positively works for me is a few months of prednisone, and I HATE the stuff. That's why I wait until I can't stand it anymore before I go to my GI. I am on Colazol for sustaining remission. Right now I have upped the dosage myself to see if it will help. The only good thing about my flareup is that it helps with weight loss! The last time I had a huge one, I got down to 123. Right now my weight is at 126-129, which is lower than the beginning weight of my last flare. Maybe this time I'll hit 120!!
