Cristi~ It is funny you mention that we will be in a new place before we know it. My sister Wendy, she is the oldest, and her family live in low income housing, which is what we would need to start off in. And so she called me Monday morning to let me know that they talked to the manager and she said for us to get our application sent in NOW. So my BIL called me a couple minutes after I hung up with my sister and gave me the lady’s name and phone number. We will have an application mailed to us and then we will get on the waiting list. There are 2 that are open and 4 or 5 that the people will be moving soon. Hopefully we can get a three bedroom because that would be the best!

Katy~ That is awesome about Leigh and her swim class!

Marti~ Thanks for those words of wisdom. Sunday night while we were watching “Extreme Makeover: home edition” the husband sent flowers to the house so they would be there when they got home. He usually buys her flowers every year on their anniversary, but these were to celebrate their new start. And when I came out of the bedroom after changing Brandon, Tommy looked at me and said “maybe this is our new start.”

Angie~ good luck with the wait! I hope you got it!

Good morning ladies,

Just popping in to say hello, and to thank you so much for the many condolences. I spent lots of time with Maggie yesterday. She's teary, but holding up pretty well.

Gotta run a few errands, and also get my roots touched up. The viewing is later today and the funeral tomorrow. I apologize for not doing individuals, but will be back Thursday, if not before, and will try to do them then. Take care!

FrouFrou 05-03-2005 10:20 AM

A quickie for me this morning, have a busy day ahead and have all ready gotten quite a bit done so am feeling good about that. With so many people getting up early around here it seems to be impossible anymore to sleep past 7 anymore. Anyway, it makes me get up early. I have all ready went went tanning, did the 2 miles WATP video, straightened the house some and got a load of laundry started. I will be pooped before the day is over for sure. I've got to take DVD's back, head on over to Penneys to find something for DH for our anniversary, and see if I can find a couple of tops. Then have to run to the PO, to Target to get a couple of things, and get my drivers license! They send a test in the mail with your reminder to do before getting there which seems silly, because they also include a book with it too! What is the point of that? Anyway, gotta go jump in the shower ladies. Will try to get back on later this afternoon sometime and do individuals.

Jane~will be thinking about you and your family today and tomorrow. :grouphug:

Hi to everyone else! See ya later

Jane,

My deepest condolences on the passing of your brother in law. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. What you said about the soul hovering after passing... I believe that too.

Well ladies, I have to tell you about my weekend. Especially about the party. The party was lots of fun, but I knew it was going to be a challenge for me food wise so I thought about what Jane said and I planned. When the food first came out, I waited until I could get a good look at the table. I then walked away and mentally planned in my mind what I would have. I stayed away from the potato salad, and the pasta salad, and instead chose beef stew (homemade) and 1 small bun. I also had a peice of chicken breast. When the birthday cake came out I left the room. Even though, I don't like chocolate cake I still thought it wise not to be in a situation where I could be tempted. I then focused on the conversation and the dancing. I had four coolers (low carb/sugarfree) and then water. I felt very good and very in control.

Sunday night, however, it was apparant that something did not agree with me and I was rather indisposed for the remainder of the evening and most of yesterday. I didn't even make it into work, but instead slept until 1:00 p.m. Thank goodness MIL stayed to take care of Joycelyn because I was a mess.

I am feeling much better today, but sticking to fruits, and brothy soup. I also had some whole grain bread and cheese.

Anyway, I must run, Duty calls.

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Well my days have been so busy! Hubby off today and tomorrow then goes back to work and my routine will be back to normal. It always throws me off when he is here. I went to town yesterday and bought the kids a big trampoline. They love it, but not all the rules mommy set. Too bad for them, I dont want anyone in a cast for the summer.. or god forbid worse! One at a time and only if mommy is outside.. doesnt seem too strict to me.
Hmm what else... Oh ya my hubby bought me a new car yesterday!!!!!! Yay now i am not stuck in the house! And it is a brand new 2005 cavalier!!! sunburst orange..(I made them hunt for that colour!) I have never had a new car in my life! So exciting!
Guess what else...it is snowing like mad here!!!! i buy the tramp and it has snowed ever since.. poor kiddies. Oh well they will have all summer!.. WEll better fly TTFN xxoo

Marti 05-03-2005 03:07 PM

Hiya ladies!!!

I've only got a few minutes here as I need to hop in the shower and get myself ready. I'm taking my grandpa up to Eugene to stay at my aunts for the night. He's leaving in the morning to go to Iowa. He'll be gone for a month.

I wasn't quite awake yet when he came over!! I heard the dogs barking and so I slowly got up and went to check out the commotion....and there was my grandpa sitting on the back patio waiting. He wanted to make sure I wasn't going to forget about him! NOT A CHANCE!! :)

He'll enjoy his time over there!

Anyway...I better hit the showers and take care of the dogs.

Take Care and I will be back later after work.

Ddfaire 05-03-2005 03:18 PM

I was off to share some news with Pam this morning, and she must be at her fitting with the dentist....hooray!! I'll have to catch up with her later.:D
I'm glad to have finally found a place to share my daily happenings with others. You all seem like one big happy family!!
I have my first day at work all alone, I had my final evaluation on Friday....wheew!!
So, now I get to see how I fare by myself.....I'll let you all know how it went tomorrow.
Well, I have much to do before work at 3, so I'm off....
Keep Smiling and have a great day!

FrouFrou 05-03-2005 03:48 PM

Hello, hello, hello ladies!

DD and I just got back a few minutes ago and boy am I pooped! :tired: Will probably be ready for a nap come 4:00! Between the exercise I got in this morning and all the walking today I did good-need to get a pedometer to see how many steps I actually did. Just know my feet hurt and I am happy to be sitting. I managed to find some cute little springy shirts at Penneys, along with a pair of capri's and a gold chain! I broke my chain and have been wearing a shorter chain with the diamond pendant and it is just too short for my fat neck. They have an awesome sale going so got it for 60% off! Of course when I bought the shirts I completely forgot about Old Navy! Went there anyway and got a pair of thongs (flip flops) & a shirt. Oh, I did get V an anniversary gift! I bought him a dress watch. Will go to Dillards maybe later this week and get him some Eternity for men-think he will like that. And NO MORE shopping for a while. I will usually buy a few things each year but didn't get much of anything for a while. Now I have decided to go forward instead of waiting till I lose weight to do things. Anyway, in a chatty mood. :smug: Since I started exercising last week I have had so much more energy and feel giddy-keep talking everyone's heads off! My drivers license picture actually turned out decent too! They give you like a credit card receipt now that has your picture on it and then mail your license to you now.

Anita~WTG on the NSV! :bravo: But sorry you got sick. Sounds like exactly what happened to me that one weekend not too long ago. I hope you are feeling yourself again soon.

Terri-Lee~woohoo! A new car! Yippee! I am so happy for you and those cars are nice! Bright orange eh?! Bet it is looking hot! Bet the kids will love the trampoline if the snow ever goes away.

Marti~how is your grandpa doing anyway? I hope he enjoys his visit to Iowa. We have relatives there and my mom is supposed to be going to visit for about a week in June I believe. Her and her cousin get together every year or at least every other year and they work on the geneaology stuff and visit other relatives. Glad you and James had a nice snuggly day-I too love those snuggly days. Hope you get something worked out as far as spending time with Jhanai when school gets out.

Katy~was picturing little Leigh in her little bathing suit and then kissing the coach, how sweet! Aaaahhh, can't remember what else you talked about-sorry :(

Mindee~hoping you guys get a three bedroom-that really would be best but nothing wrong with the two little ones sharing a room. Mine did when they were little. Actually, the boys did until one was in 9th grade and the other was in 7th grade. That's when the got territorial over the room and their things. I even gave up my room at one point so they could be separated! DD was lucky in that she had her own room from the time she was about 3 1/2. I wold have loved to have a had another girl though. Anyway, how are feeling? When do you go to the doc?

Again, Hi to everyone else  Can't remember who all had posted on the last thread and what was said.

Well, I need to go look up a couple of things ladies before Jeopardy at 3:30-hope I have enough time. So take care and have a wonderful day!

FrouFrou 05-03-2005 03:53 PM

Hi Dee  Didn't see that you had posted while I was typing that novel! :) Hoping work goes great for you on your first day alone! That must be exciting! Can't wait to hear about it.

PamPSM644 05-03-2005 04:49 PM

Denture Day turned into Postpone Day. The bottoms were fine but the tops made me look like a beaver looking for a log. To big. Front teeth have to be reduced. Yep. They feel like haveing a cup and saucer in your mouth, but it's better then a big black hole.

I see Dee made it. Thanks for giving her a welcome. This is her first night to deliver gasoline to stations by herself. My son says she's guttsy. That there are lots of truck drivers who won't drive a fuel truck because it's like driving a bomb. Also there's alot of paper work and safty proceedures to follow and some guys flunk out. DS says she learned quickly and will do just fine.

Terri-Lee got a new car. Whoopi! Is that burnt-orange that bright brassy orange I've seen occationally? VERY COOL COLOR!

Good afternoon ladies,
Hey welcome DEE!!

Pam from what happened with my mom you may have a couple of times where you feel like you may need them to adjust them,,,but again once you are used to them you will love it!

Terri you got a new car? wahooo and bright funky orange...now that I would love to drive...and snowing? I hope you keep the snow at your end of the country...its warm here....

well should gt going on my house work,,,just got off work...NO PHONE CALL yet...*sigh getting worried...

suetalks 05-03-2005 11:20 PM

Not much going on here except getting the house ready to sell. We try to do something every day to make improvements. I am still waiting for the weather to get nice so I can wash windows...been waiting for a couple weeks. Tomorrow I am washing all the curtains and blinds. Then will be ready for the rest if it doesn't rain. I think that is all I have to do. I weeded today as I went out for my walk. I figure if I do it often it won't get ahead of me. DH had to change a tire on my car this morning..flat as a pancake and he found a screw imbedded in it. We took his truck and went for breakfast.

Hi to everyone and sorry for not doing individuals. Sounds like you are all keeping busy. Talk soon!

Ddfaire 05-04-2005 07:50 AM

I Survived!!

Well, here I am.....I made it through my first night alone...what a disaster!!!
Doesn't it always seem that when there isn't anyone around to help everything that can go wrong does??? But I guess it wasn't all that bad, I finished at 3:30 this morning, didn't drop fuel in the wrong holes, and didn't roll the truck:dizzy:, and Tony (nice gentleman I work with) said my evening was a success!! YIPPEEE!!!

Thanks again for the welcome...I'm really tired and can't remember who posted what...so I'll have to make up for it later:).

I'll talk to you all after I get some sleep!! Nitie nite.....

Keep Smiling and have a great day!!

tlprocks 05-04-2005 10:03 AM

Good Morning! Chat Day!

Well, to answer all you lasdies yes it is that new orange/rust colour that is fairly new. Might have it by Friday. They had to ship it from another lot to get the colour! It is a love/hate colour. People really like it or they really don't. I just wanted to be different!

Ddfaire: Well glad your first night went well. My hubby is actually an instrictor for A-Z. He also teaches heavy equipment and grader courses. Welcome to the ladies!:D

Suetalks: Washing windows is one chore i don't mind. Dishes and laundry are another story!

Angie: Well it is sunny today, but cold. I guess better then snow. Hopefully it gets warm soon!

Pam: Yes driving a fuel truck is dangerous! Hope your top dentures are perfect when they fix them.:)

Cristi: Good job on all the exercise!! I went on the trampoline yesterday and i thought i was going to have a heart attack! Wow i am out of shape! Maybe if i go on there everyday i will get in shape!

Marti: How nice of you to take your grandpa. I bet he will enjoy his month visit. Hope you had a good shift!:)

Anita: Wow good job planning your meal! More strength then i have! I bet you felt really good about it after though!:D

Jane: Hope you are feeling ok. It is a hard thing to go through.

Mindee: Wow that would be nice to have a 3 bedroom, then you would have a room for each of the kids! We will cross our fingers for you!:)

And a big Hello to everyone else! Hope you are having a good week and it is a little warmer then mine! TTFN xxoo

da fat n da furious 05-04-2005 11:22 AM

Dee, congrats on a good first night alone.

Terri, I know someone from theatre who got that color in a VIBE,,,I like the color.

Sue, arghh windows? I will have to call someone to come do mine,,,way too high.
Loved living in Sylvan,,,this guy would come by every spring and fall and for $2. a window do them for me...my neighbhours would get theirs done too so if one of us wasn't home we always took care to have each of ours done by him.
Do you guys have Regal in the states? There is a screen cleaner in the newest magezine and was thinking of going and buying it. Normally we take them all out and spray them down...and I occassionally use a damp cloth. We live in a kinda new development and so the dust is pretty gross.
Today I plan to finish laundry vaccuum and dust the office.

THEY CALLED!!!

They asked if I would bring in my family...so Tanner for sure, and Monte will have to rush to shower after work,,,

well should get going on my chores

PamPSM644 05-04-2005 11:47 AM

:coffee2: Here I am. Up and at"em. Got my walk in and am drinking my coffee. My stun gun is on the way. Will feel better about my walks with the dog when that gets here. Did I tell you girls about our incounter with a Pit? Tramatizing. We are half way though our walk and this lose dog sneaks up on us. It attacks my little Bon Bon and he tries to hide undernieth a car. I hit the dog with my cane and start yelling and screaming for help. Nothing fases this dog. I end up on the ground wrestling with it trying to keep it off my dog. I even bit it trying to get it's attention but nothing worked. Finally a lady picked up my dog taking him out of reach. Thank God no serious damage was done but not so the other day with my neighbor. He's got his gate open working in another part of his yard when a stray Pit came in and attacked his dog who was tied up in the back yard. Another neighbor heard the commotion and hit the Pit as hard as he could with a shovel. It only fased the dog for a moment who went right back on the other dog. It took 3 big men to trap this dog and restrain it till animal control came for it. Well, that was it for me. I decided I needed some serious protection.
Why can't people who own these dogs realize that they have an extra hight of responcibility to keep these dogs under control at all times. Not just for other animals and people but for the dogs themselves. After all, the police will shot a Pit not taking a chance on wither or not it's dangerous.
Thats my rant for the day. :censored: :soap: :drill:

Happy Hump Day Ladies!

:sunny: Good afternoon ladies :sunny:

Busy day...again, was up early, went to tan and then to Wally World, oh joy! I actually dread it more and more each week but today it wasn't so bad. Got in and out pretty quick. Ran to the post office, came home put everything up and did my exercise. It is killing me the little bit I do but I have to force myself to do it. I started out slow and will add a few minutes each week, or maybe wait till I get used to what I am doing with no problem. Did 30 mns. on the treadmill, 15 mns. on the bike and about 3-4 mns. with the weights. That I don't want to push and it is killing me doing what little bit I do. It's mainly to strengthen my arms, as you all know my arms are basically junk. But if I do the weights while it hurts a little while I am doing it and a little after, it really is better in the long run. I am doing the treadmill, bike, and weights on M, Wed., & Friday and on Tues., Thurs. and maybe Saturday I am doing the 2-mile WATP video and going up and down the stairs 6-10 times to start-my own personal sort of stair stepper. Try going up and down the stairs 6 times in a row, with going up and down counting as one time! OUCH! I am sooooo out of shape! YIKES! Anyway, the important thing is, I am working on it. The eating is also going good.

Pam~OMG! You poor thing, you and BonBon, jeez! You didn't tell us about that incident. I'm glad you and BonBon are okay. Those dogs scare me but I don't blame the dogs-it is the owners. There are too many owners who make the dogs bad and that is so sad. My niece was attacked by a neighbors pit bull when she was 2. Terrible...glad you got some protection.

Dee~yeaaaaa! You are a brave woman! I don't even like to be near those trucks on the road and here you are driving one.

Sue~have you seen that show Designed to Sell? While I like most of what they do I think it's weird when they sometimes take personal things out of the rooms. Everyone has different taste and I think most people understand that when looking at houses. But I think it looks better when they actually looked lived in and with some pictures scattered around. Anyway, you reminded me that we need to clean our windows-ick!

Angie~oh, I am so sending good vibes your way. :goodvibes: :lucky: :crossed: Hey, do you like your new CD's-the Kelly Calrkson & Rob Thomas ones? I ordered both Kelly Clarkson CD's a while back through BMG and am still waiting for them. I love the new song of his also and have it on my cell phone, along with some others. I am listening to the new Tina Turner CD-got it back in March and never listened to it. I love it! I can only hope to look like her when I am her age. The woman is very sexy and looks years younger than she is, and, her music I think just gets better and better!

Terri-Lee~I can't say I have seen a car that color-gonna have to go look one up. But I think it sounds really pretty. Know what ya mean about having a heart attack! I swear I felt like that when I was going up and down the stairs-that was/is worse than any exercise I have ever done! But I have to stick with it for my health. I don't want to grow old and look my age-want to look younger and I swear I am going to have a non-invasive face-lift when I turn 50!

Jane~just want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today. I know all too well how hard funerals are. Many ((((((HUGS))))) to you all.

 Hi to everyone else

Probably should get going, have a couple of things to do before DH gets home. We are going to look at a couple of furniture stores to see if we can find some dining room furniture. Our table and chairs was supposed to be in on May 1, well...it didn't come and they think there may be a shipment coming the first of June sometime. The sales person who helped us either quit or got fired and negelected to tell us when we bought it April 9th that they had other cutomers waiting for the same table since Feb. So we don;t know when we will get that. Just so glad we didn't take the chairs like the guy wanted us to. Didn't see a point in having chairs and no table, duh! So if we can find the same thing for about the same price somewhere and they have it or can get it to us in a couple of weeks we are going to get a refund for the other which is no problem. So, oh joy. I really hate to go shopping, I know it seems like I don't but I really do. What I like is spending with V so it makes it easier. Anyway...yadda, yadda, yadda.

Take care ladies and have a wonderful day!

Neets 05-04-2005 04:19 PM

Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is well. I am doing really well. I got some really cute birthday pictures of my bambino back. I just have to figure how to get them onto a disk so that I can share them with you all. They turned out great! I also have some pictures of my new furniture. :)

TERRI Congrats on the new car! The trampoline sounds like a lot of fun for the kids. Great exercise for the whole family!! Don't worry, warm weather will come soon. I hope. If it's any consolation, Southern Ontario isn't much warmer than North Bay is. No snow though.

DdFaire Hello and welcome. WOW. A fuel truck. I admire you. My husband is an A-Z driver and it's no easy task. I can't even imagine a fuel truck. :bravo:

ANGIE Congratulations on the callback. How exciting for you! Best of luck! :goodvibes

PAM How scary for you and your dog! Up here in Toronto, they have put a pitbull ban into place. You are not allowed to own them. It's unfortunate because it is the irresponsibility of the owners that have caused this. I'm glad you are o.k. That's one of my biggest fears when I am walking Nikki. She's a Jack Russell and she'll try to fight back!

CRISTI WTG!! on the exercise. You sound like you're doing great. Remember not to burn yourself out though. You need a day of rest now and then. Keep up the good work!!!

Well ladies, I just looked at the calendar and I think I am due to take some measurements and do a weigh in. I will have to check my journal to confirm.
My clothes seem to fit a little better but that could just mbe wishful thinking on my part.

Jane 05-05-2005 08:59 AM

Good morning, ladies!

Mindee - thanks for starting the new thread. Did you find out any more about the house?

Katy - how's everything going in your corner of the world?

Cristi - did you find a dining room set you like? Hope so. I got some more tops at Penney's, too. They've put out the real summery stuff now, and the selection is pretty good, and all on sale. (of course, lol) Hey, you're doing great with the exercise! YGG!!!

Anita - so proud of your NSV at the party! And it made me feel good that you were hearing my words in your ear, lol. But it truly does work, doesn't it? And makes us feel so "in control" of ourselves, which is a really, really good feeling.

Terri - YAY for the new car! I'm not familiar with the color, but it sounds pretty. Btw, your trampoline rules are good ones! I'd love to jump on one again, but don't see that ever happening, lol. We had one in gym class in high school, and I got on it every time I could get some spotters, lol.

Marti - did you have fun with your Grandpa? He sure gets around, doesn't he? I'm so glad he doesn't just sit and mourn and waste away like some widows/widowers do. Btw, when is Jhanai out of school?

Dee - sounds like you did fine on your first night solo with the truck. You've got a heck of a lot more nerve than me, that's for sure!

Pam - when do you think you'll get your teeth now? I know you're anxious for them.

Angie - did you ever get the book I sent? Good luck with the interview!!!!!!!! :crossed: That is so exciting!

Sue - don'tcha just love the nice weather we're finally having? I'm planning to mulch some flowers today and putter in the yard as much as possible. How's your mom settling in?

Thanks for all the good wishes and hugs regarding the funeral. I am SO GLAD it's all over, and did ok until they played Taps at the graveside. Then I lost it.

I'm looking around for a new friend of mine. Her name is Debby and although I don't share this place with many real life friends, I know she'd be an asset to the group, and told her a little about the JLs. So Debbie, if you're reading this, please pop in and say Hi! :)

Mount Washmore is about to overtake the house, so I've got to get cracking on that before I run out of undies, lol. Makenzie-the-twin is going to be my helper today. I can hardly wait until she gets here. With all the commotion that's been going on in the family, I haven't seen the DGDs nearly enough.

Hope you have a good day!

PamPSM644 05-05-2005 10:33 AM

:coffee2: Greetings Ladies, from the black hole of Cacutta. The soga of the teeth continue.

Thought I'd be bring them home yesterday but not to be. After another fitting I was allowed to gaze on them longingly but informed these belonged to my dentist and mine wouldn't be ready till this next Tuesday. In the back of this large room is a huge cupboard with row upon row of molds. All numbered and proundly displayed. Mine will be joining them shortly. How nice to know they'll be a monument to me left behind when I leave this world.

DebbyA big howdy to you if your out there.plop yourself down and chat awhile.

FrouFrou 05-05-2005 12:12 PM

Hi ladies and good morning!

I feel pooped-think it is the weather. Didn't want to get up this morning, probably could have slept till 9 or 10. But I didn't...dragged this big ole booty out of bed and got started with the day. I have yet to do the WATP video but have done the stairs 12 times so far-not all at once mind you-but I did about 5 times consecutively. Each time that I have gone up the stairs I have done a few times up and down-not just walking either, running up them! As soon as I get off here and get a load of laundry started I am doing the video. Today is a stay at home day even though I went tanning and to mail a letter. Other than that I am home for the day. Gotta catch up on housework for sure. Woke up late and didn't have time to make my bed. Well, I did but I like to go tan at the same time every morning and get that over with and out of the way, like with the exercise. Been on the computer looking up stuff so as soon as I am finished here I have lots to do. Did have a nice surprise about 30 minutes ago...had some flowers delivered. DS had 2 dozen white roses for Mother's Day-what a sweetie! Boy was I surprised and they sure are big and pretty! Anywho...

Jane~no didn't find a dining set at the stores we went to. But ended up where we bought the one we are waiting for and saw a different on we may exchange. It is a round table where the other is rectangle-not sure why I got that one-thinking I like the round one better. It also has the upholstered chairs and I can get it is Sage which I think would be nice. It is about the same price also so that is a good thing-would bascically be an even exchange.

Terri~I saw the orange color you are talking about and it is really pretty! While DH and I were out yesterday we passed a chevy dealership-that street is like dealership row! Lots of car dealerships right in a row. Anyway, it is a very nice color.

Pam~I saw a wall of molds in the one dentist office I used to go to. it was kin dof funny looking to see a whole wall of shelves with molds from floor to ceiling. Anyway, hope you get them soon and they fit perfect!

Angie~have you heard anything, how did it go?

Anita~thanks! :thanks: I plan on just doing the exercise Monday thru Friday and possibly a Saturday or two a month. I don't want to get burned out but for now I am sticking with 5 days a week. Who knows though if I ever get a job it may drop down to 3 days a week which I could live with. For now though I am really trying my best to stick to the 5. Can't wait to see pictures of your little one.

Hi to everyone else!

Better get going ladies so I can get this house cleaned. Also, need to do my toes and fingernails. Don't really cherish the thought of taking the red polish off my toes-it's always so messy.

Take care ladies and have a wonderful Thursday whatever you do!

:ebike: :woo: OMG, look at the new smilies! OOOOO. Ok, back to the important stuff.

Ladies, just heard from Ellen's daughter. Mom isn't feeling well and she wants me to pass on greetings from her to all of you. She will be back with us when she can but we must be patient.

PAM

FrouFrou 05-05-2005 04:09 PM

Aaaaaahhh, how cute! :tantrum: :woo: :ebike: :wl: :sp: Lovin' the new smilies! Was wondering where you two ladies (Pam & Terri) found them!

Anyway, just taking a break for a few minutes. Just have a load of laundry to get done and finish vacuuming the living room. Kind of got started on some spring cleaning in the bedroom. Am going to go through my closet this weekend and get rid of some clothes I haven't worn in a while but for some reason can't part with. Just going to throw them in the bag. I have a jacket I bought a few years ago and never wore it!

Pam~I got the same e-mail from Ellen's DD-she only had our e-mail addresses. Just glad to hear something, was worried about her.

Terri~yeah, I have been trying to do a lot of exercise anyway-it's way overdue and very much needed. Just hoping I can keep it up. It gives me so much energy. I have found since I started last week that I have been in a much better mood-happier and really have had more energy. That and drinking the water and taking my vitamins. Hey, I never heard that about tanning but it sounds good to me! :D I know I feel better about myself when I look decent and come spring I need some color to my old white self! :yikes: The roses he (DS) had sent from ProFlowers I think it was and they felt like they were frozen! But I put them in the vase, cut them and they have already bloomed a little.

Susan~where are ya girly? Haven't heard much from you, missing you around here. How's things going with Mike and Rocky? How's little Miss. Gaby doing and Rachel & Rebecca of course?

Marti~I saw your post about chat yesterday after I had posted but had to go and get ready before V got home. Hope you are fine.

Angie~mentioned the Kelly Clarkson CD and just received them today! It seemed to take forever, I actually forgot what I had ordered. Got both Kelly CLarkson CD's, two Billy Joel, Maroon 5 and Anita Baker's new one-love her voice.

Katy, Sue, Dee, & Katiecat hope things are going good for you all. Seems like I am missing someone, always do that.

Anyway, Hi to everyone again!

Jeopardy is about ready to come on in a few minutes and I need to finish the vaccuuming in the living room. Have a good one ladies!

Neets 05-05-2005 04:16 PM

Hi ladies!!

LOVE the new smilies!!!! Thanks for all the congrats on my NSV. I am pretty pleased with myself. I checked my journal this morning and I am not due to weigh in and measure until the 14th of May. So one more week of :ebike: and :wl: and :tread: and then next week hopefully it will be :goodscale :cheer:

So far this week, I haven't made it onto the ski machine but I did manage to walk the dog. The weather is getting nicer so I like being outside more anyway. I did do 200 crunches on the stability ball this morning though.

Hope everyone is well. :grouphug: :grouphug: to Ellen. Hope you are up and around soon.

Anita

OK - hung out at chat for a bit and no one's there... so here I am!
Thought I'd post, then check back...

Been MIA , but DH has had track meets all week...some very late nights...DD has been sick (again) but got her on some claritin so she should be feeling better. Got to go swimming yesterday, so she was all smiles :) I am so tired with everyting...my big wish for mother's day is to just be left alone. I would like to be able to either work in the yard or read a book uninterrupted. I'm pretty easy to please ;)

I went to the library and checked out some chick lit.... so i am drinking a glass of wine and enjoying Bergdorf Blondes, by Plum Sykes. The next one is The Devil Wears Prada ( don't have the author off the top of my head)
Just finished The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hossein and it is fantastic...I highly recommend it.. once you are about halfway through, there is no putting it down!

Managing to maintain, but need to get it together to lose again. Was on such a good stretch there for awhile....need to recapture that somehow...

OK..going back to check on chat then I have to leave

Hope all is well where you are

suetalks 05-05-2005 10:48 PM

:ebike: Wow...everyone is busy, either exercising, doing housework or yardwork. Put me in the housework column. We washed windows, finally. No rain, just a beautiful day. I am down to just having 2 closets to clean out and I will be DONE. Got my walk in today, thank goodness, as I had missed it yesterday. Today I was soooo pooped, but my neighbor called and I said "sure, I will walk." Then I hung up the phone and groaned. :tantrum: But I did it.

Pam, sure hope you get your teeth soon. Glad you passed on the message from Ellen. Poor gal must be really under the weather.

Cristi, Good going with the exercise. I am hoping to have more time now to do extra walking or more exercise. I see you are a Jeopardy nut as I am. It comes on here at 7:30 though. Wish it was on at 3:30.

Jane, Loving the nice weather. I was beginning to wonder if it would get warm again. Had that early warm spell and then it seemed to get the "chill to the bone" for a few weeks. I can handle that if it isn't windy, but man we had some fierce wind. I just hopw we have some mild days before we have to turn on the a/c.

Anita, 200 crunches...WTG. I can manage, maybe 20, and that's stretching it. (no pun intended)

Terri, I have had 3 Cavaliers over the years and loved each and every one. My last one was teal, which was a new color when I got it, then everyone had that color eventually. I think orange sounds terrific...and I hope you love the car!

Angie, I am waiting patiently to hear how your interview went. Everything I have is crossed for you for good luck and believe me if I don't un-cross some of it soon I will be deformed!!

Dee, Hello and welcome to you brave lady! Can't wait to hear more about you.

Taking the day off tomorrow and going rummaging with Mom, my aunt and DD1. Should be fun. There is a 50 mile rummage sale on a major highway near us. We will only try for 3 hours since that is about all Mom can do before she tires. Of course we will cap it off with a meal out somewhere and relaxing conversation. (read that as 4 gabbing broads..and I say that with love.)
Monday my DD1 turns 40 years old... she would smack me for telling you that. She was born on Mother's Day 1965. Quite a gift, huh? Sunday we will celebrate that along with Mother's Day.

Hope you all have a good Friday! Enjoy!

Marti 05-06-2005 07:20 AM

Just a little post....just wanted to let you all know that I edited the post about the chat times. (I added it to Janes post)

Hope it helps with when chat is. :)

Jane 05-06-2005 07:45 AM

TGIF!!! (I say that as if all my days aren't the same, lol.)

Pam - doggone it! I too had hoped you'd get your biters by now! Well, you'll have them before you know it. I was glad to hear from Melissa, too, and sent a note to Ellen through her. Hopefully Ellen'll be back with us in no time.

Cristi - thank you so much for the cards! Really made my day. Wow, the roses from Vince sound so beautiful! Are you going to swap dining room sets? Sounds like a good idea.

Terri - You are so funny!!

Anita - yikes! That's a lot of crunches! Made my abs hurt just reading about it, lol.

Katy - hope you get just what you want for the big day! Is The Kite Runner political?

Sue - have fun at the rummage sales. I won't tell a soul how old your DD is, so she doesn't have to worry. ;)

Marti - thanks for editing the chat thread. I'm all messed up about the times to chat. Where I live in Indiana, we're on a different schedule than most of the state, and our legislature is trying to do something about it. The bad thing is, when the new laws go into effect next year, it's going to still be light out at 10 at night during the height of summer. Sheesh!

Debby - come on in!!

Neal and I went to the high school for "Senior Showcase" last night. Katie had a Powerpoint exhibit and an English exhibit. All the kids who participated in any category got a certificate to frame. Katie is getting a little sad about leaving her school, but is very happy at the thought of college (and college boys).

The babysitter for Gina's DDs is having some outpatient surgery, so today I'll be watching Mackenzie-the-six-y/o and Macy, who's 2. Neal is off today since his last final is at 8 in the morning tomorrow, so he's planning to have both girls help him pick lettuce, and putter in the garden. I want them to help me make WW soup this afternoon, and may take them with me to Wally World when I go. We don't want to give them a chance to get bored, lol.

Hope your day is a good one!

PamPSM644 05-06-2005 11:19 AM

:coffee2: That time of the morning. Rainy here so not walking. TGIF. I recently signed up for Netflix. Really like having movies delivered though my mail and not having to make trips back and forth to the rental store. I got Lemony Snickets and Finding Neverland to watch this week end.

Poor Dee answered the phone last night and they made her come in and deliver a load of gas. They know better then to try to call my DS in on his days off. His one of their best drivers. Arco insists on him delivering their fuel and Arco is a big contract so he can say no and get away with it. Other fuel companies have tried to hire him away so they can try to get Arco contracts but he likes the people he works with better then the extra money he'd be making. He's single so doesn't have to have more in his pay check. Yes, I'm very proud of him.

Jane
Wally World? OMG! You mean there is such a place? Thought that was a destination only Chevy Chase could go to on vacation?

Speaking of fun places to go. Dee and I have decided to go to Disneyland. Yippi! It'll be in the next couple months, before school lets out. Been waiting to go for years now.Thank you Dee.

PAM

da fat n da furious 05-06-2005 01:04 PM

Hello Ladies....
Pam Wally World is what we call Walmart...lol Wally Wednesdays...
Disneyland...is so much fun,,,have to try California Adventure too,,,which is close...

Jane, I think Brandon is feeling a bit sad too about leaving school... hes got four grads to attend.

Sue readinga bout all your cleaning is killing me! I think omg I have to clean there too so off I go...come back and you have been doing more cleaning...lol geesh will you relax?

My hands are covered in gold, bronze and silver spray paint,,,spraying helmets and swords. I have to go pick up the body limbs today and the newspaper makings. And if I feel up to it going for a walk to find a twig.

So tomorrow I go for the call back,,,nervous more so then before. I have been reading up on all the weight loss programs and am more impressed of Sure Slim. This is a program that takes your blood and checks to make sure everything is balanced and if its not then with certain foods, they balance you out,,,the whole thing is to blance your metobolic system too. Its pretty strick but Id raither find out if Im lacking in anything and work to fixing that.
well I need to go clean up and get those body limbs...have to then splatter red spray paint on it...love that gore!
toodles

RosieKate 05-06-2005 01:13 PM

Good morning to all
Pam and Dee - what fun! Disneyland with no kids does sound like fun....but I can't get away with that for a few years yet....
Jane - Kite Runner takes place in Afghanistan and U.S. from mid-80s to 2001...not political, but the political situations do impact the families in the novel...heartwrenching at times, but just so good...

Today is DSL day, so wish me luck on set-up...I'm usually pretty good at this stuff. tho' I did have to call in Rent-a-Geek last week 'cause I tried to install a burner that was set to be a master, but needed to be a slave...oh the things we learn when we mess up our computers, lol! Hopefully DSL installation will be much smoother.

Blueprints for remodel should be done by next week..then its off to get permits...the ball is rolling!

Have a great day everyone

FrouFrou 05-06-2005 03:30 PM

Good afternoon ladies!

Jane~enjoy your day with the little ones. They will like helping Neal. And you are welcome for the cards. I think we are headed to the Slumberlands this evening to swap the dining room furniture-think this one will work better, and look better.

Sue~yeah, I am a Jeopardy junkie. If someone is home we play to see who gets the most questions right-sometimes they are some hard ones. Not so much hard, but stuff I definitely don't know. Enjoy the yard sale-would love a 50 mile yard sale here. I too won't tell that your DD is turning 40! :sssh: Hope she has a nice one! I wasn't born on Mother's day, but every four years it falls on that day which is kind of nice-get the birthday, anniversary and Mother's Day out of the way in one day!

Katy~I was wondering when you guys were going to start your renovations. Can't wait to see and hear about it. Are you guys excited? Hope Leigh is feeling better. I've had to dig into the Claritin myself the last three days. Good luck with the DSL today-hope you enjoy it!

Angie~glad you told us what the Sure Slim is, I've never heard of it. Hope you hear something soon.

Anita~200 crunches?!! OUCH! WTG though!! Don't think I could even do 50!

Pam~have a wonderful trip to Disneyland! One of these days I am going to make it back there, so much fun.

Well, ladies I guess that's about all I have. I am going to try and take a nap I think-feel tired and sleepy for some reason.

Take care ladies and have a GREAT Friday!

Yay! My DSL is up and running...so nice to not have the phone line tied up ....
My bonehead move for the week was I managed to poke a hole in the exercise ball I use for the Core videos..big bummer. The ab exercises that I do with that ball are awesome...and now I have to wait a week for a replacement ball :(

Cristi - thanks for asking after Leigh, she is feeling much better. We are home now, while the guys are off to Family Fun Night at the Community Center. I am really tired and I thought it best to keep her out of the pool...she's still sniffling a little. Claritin seems to be helping....

Will try to get to more folks later......hope you are all enjoying your Friday night

suetalks 05-06-2005 11:00 PM

Fun, fun at the yard sales. Actually they were yard sales and in town they were sidewalk sales. We even went to a huge barn sale. It was busy! Didn't buy much except some paperback books... Hey, I am cleaning out junk here, can't be bringing more home. But, boy, if I had my new house I could've had some nice pictures and mirrors for the walls.
Picked my DGS up at school and we 3 went out to eat and picked up some groceries.
I walked my 2 miles in my new walking shoes...which hurt my feet a little.
Now I am pooped and ready to go to bed and DGS is wanting to watch a video.

Take care and Happy Sat. to all.

Jane 05-06-2005 11:23 PM

Hiya ladies,

Pam - you aren't the first one to think Wally World is a theme park, lol. Wish it was, lol. I could use some entertainment. :D

Angie - good luck with the call back.

Katy - oh I am so envious! No DSL available out here in the boonies. I do have 2 separate phone lines, thank goodness. Bet you're just speeding away over the information highway, lol.

Cristi - we love Jeopardy here too. I also like the old Match Game shows with Gene Rayburn, lol. Some of those were hilarious! Not the same intellectual stimulation as Jeopardy, though, lol.

Sue - glad you had a good day.

The men of the family are cooking this Sunday for all of us moms. Even Katie is a godmother. The menu is tossed salad, rotisserie chicken, crock pot potatoes, green beans, and some sort of dessert. They cooked last year, too, and did a great job!

Have a good weekend!!

FrouFrou 05-07-2005 11:00 AM

Good Morning ladies!

Jane~hey, sometimes I do get entertainment at Wally World! Not the kind I would like-usually silly little kids singing to the top of their lungs, or screaming at the top of their lungs and running through the store with their moms chasing them. It's funny, but not, if ya know what I mean.

Katy~glad to hear Leigh is feeling better and you have your DSL up and running!

Sue~I have never been lucky to find anything good at yard sales except one time so don't go much. But if I am driving by one I will slow down and look, not like I need more stuff though. Glad you guys had a nice time.

Hi to everyone else!

Well, ladies this was supposed to be a quickie-busy day today and tomorrow. Anyway...have a good weekend ladies and a very...

HAPPY
MOTHER'S

DAY!!!

da fat n da furious 05-07-2005 11:23 AM

Good Morning Ladies,

Sue, my parents love yard sales,,,I admit I don't mind snooping through,,,but like you have more then my share of junk and need to get rid of it before I bring more in.

Cristi, I just smile when I see people chasing their kids or the kids are freaking,,,ahhh to out of that stage!

Katy we had dial up for about 2 months then got rid of that....we are looking into getting a different server though cause we can't use our roter for Brandon's computer. And since he uses ours alot for his music and chatting with his friends its really a pain. Glad to know Leigh is feeling a bit better,,,,she may grow out of the allergies,,,Brandon did,,,of course Ive grown into them.

Terri funny now Im looking around at cars adn such and see that orange color everywhere!

Our neighbours 2 doors down sold their house yesterday,,,they are young with two small boys and they are divorcing. Sad. Married too young perhaps,,,but then again Monte and I were young infact either side of us were married young. One side they are about our age,,,and on the other side their kids are our age. It was just nice having small kids around.

Tanner is at rehearal all day today,,,from 8 am till 3, Brandon works till 3 and so does Monte ,,,so everyone is coming with me to the call back.

Not sure what Im going to wear...

I asked for a massage for mother's day,,,never had one so would like to try that out.
Did I mention that last week I did a class on spa products and made some? I made body butter, hair massage oil, clay masks for the body and sea salt scrub. I loved it. would love to take another class on straight soaps....
And there is another class I want to take at the college for arts here,,,jewellery making,,using tin and wire. But it starts right away and with the play I would miss 4 out of 10 classes,,,

anyways I should get going with some cleaning and then worry about what to wear,,,,
toodles
