Happy Autumn!!!

Hi everyone, and welcome to ~iwmonn~

You are all doing FANTASTIC!! :smug: :smug: I'm okay, thank you for thinking of me. I supposed that I am in super-huge trouble??? :?: I am sorry, will you all forgive me? My grandfather has been ill, and my father fell down their staircase and his back is a mess. I bought a brand new computer so I hopefully can start working in-home next month (instead of being a cube farmer). I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Work has been full of mandatory overtime, so I have been working 10 to 12 hour days, and my partner has been working 12-hour days installing and finishing the hardwood floors, etc., for a big showcase of homes this coming weekend; and she & I are trying to clean out the spare room at home and make it an office (everything and anything when we combined houses that we weren't sure what to do with was in there... :( But, I found the guest bed!! Yes, there is actually a queen-sized bed in there...found it after I moved the boxes, and the piles of clothes that don't fit me anymore (too small, too big, etc....and the diamond earring I lost last winter she gave me for my birthday....that was truly a hallelujah moment. Now she is inspired to 'spring clean everything to find all the other things i have misplaced. hee hee  )

We are getting there. Our basement wall cracked because tree roots are pushing on it, so every time it rains, I have to get out the waders!! ;)

Other than that, I am EXACTLY the same weight. Doesn't go up, doesn't go down. I still eat really good, and I have been exercising every day with Richard in the morning, Leslie Sansone in the afternoon on my break, and then stretching pilates before bed (helps me relax and get some sleep).

I need to lower my carb intake. I basically am living on Ramen noodles, soup in a cup, and fruit & veggies 'cuz their quick and I feel like I have no time!!

Hopefully this will be the last 'crazy' week :tired: :stars:

Take care of all of you, and I will read some more during my lunch to catch up.

Love & Hugs,
L2L

Howdy Again:

Curly: Congrats on the loss..YIPPEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry about the storms.. WE had rain yesterday which is unusal in WYoming today is gloomy for the first day of fall..hope that is not what is to come.

L2L: Hope things settle down for you. Have fun spring cleaning..if we both would of done that in the spring..we wouldn't have to worry about it now. LOL I am doing the same..Spending my weekend getting some projects done for winter. Been helping bro in law with fence but the next 2 weeks are ours. I am glad you posted..we missed you!!!!

Turtle: Glad squeak is home. Congrats on walking..wish I could of said the same. I really wanted to get to the gym yesterday.... but tonight is my crazy night anyway..but I am going to do Richard or something to get my butt up. I will promise myself to do that.

Ok..did some soul searching. I really need to quit smoking. Told dh I wanted it done. We could pay off our bills earlier and stop spending so much money lighting up.(currently about 60-90 a week) I can do it without him..I am losing weight mainly without him..he is losing by default..maybe that will work with smoking!!! I thought about doing it when I hit onderland but you know what..nothing like today..isn't that what we say about losing weight? I am really thinking about today being my last day. I don't want to overeat to make up for it but I think what I will do is when I really really want one..I will drink a bottle of water first. That is what I did last time I was on WW and quit smoking. IT worked and I quit for a year..blame dh for me starting again. LOL Last night M said to me..mommy when are you going to quit.. It really made me think. I needed her to say that to me. SHe will have a skinny/non smoking mom if it kills me. She deserves that.

Ok..off my soap box and back to work. ..

Dee..we miss you too!! Post soon and often!!

Guess what????? I GOT MY FLOWERS BACK!!! 2 OF THEM YAHOO.

Sorry, I'm done shouting now. :cloud9:

angel-eyes 09-22-2005 01:05 PM

Wow...there's been a lot of movin' and shakin' going on!!!! :cb: :cb: I just got back from the gym from a great iso-ball class. geez, I'm finding out that there's something under all that flab!! I have really noticed a huge difference already in my upper arms/chest area and my legs. Can't wait to find the hip bone next!!! :D I have my mouth watering at the moment, with cooking lunch. I am making a curried carrot soup. YUM YUM,and only 1 pt per cup. I can't wait. Well, have a super duper day my PIC'S!!! Ds is almost off on a 3 week school cycle break, so like it or not, he'll be coming to the gym tommorow!! I think he'll be fine with his gameboy,...its just the babysitting room usually has toddlers. haha...I'm so cruel.

Curly....Way to go!!! :cp: I knew you could do it. Happy weight loss day.

L2L.....hehe...there is more to life than RAMEN NOODLES girl!!! :nono: There's a heck of a lot of sodium in thar packages. It might be better to cook noodles and and plain ol spag. sauce to them. Just a thought. I hope your father is on the mend. That fall sounded nasty. Good job on finding the guest bed and your diamond earring!!! Who knows what else you'll find.

Lisa....Your little water trick sounds like it might work. My dh quit almost 3 months ago now, and he's got no regrets. It took awhile for the snack munchies to calm down but now? he just trys to ignore the usual triggers...a coffee and a smoke. This has also cut down his caffeine addiction!!! Good luck and one day at a time my friend!!! oh yeah..... :coach: consider this a BOOT IN THE BUTT!!!

Hotcup.....Glad you managed your walk with your weirdo last night. That would have freaked me out as well, considering the time of night (morning) that you walk. YEAH...SQUEAK IS HOME!!! Try not to think about the vet bill but her getting well.

curlylocks 09-22-2005 08:48 PM

shhhhhhhhhhhhh dont say a word.... those 4 lbs could sneak back .. like before! even tho i never went off program!

iwmonn 09-22-2005 10:43 PM

Hi again to everyone! And congrats on all the good things happening. ;) I'm not saying a word curlylocks but I'm thinking a really loud WooHoooo lol....

My boss is going to loan me a beginning pilates tape and I've started to set up a little space for myself to exercise out in the cabin. (actually it's an old potting shed on our property that my hubby has insulated, painted and carpeted. It's quite nice.) I don't have a TV out there so I'll have to just use my laptop to watch and pilate along with the video. I'd like to get a good aerobics dvd too I think. I'm really feeling like I can get into this now. THANK YOU LADIES!!!!
I was thiisssssssss close to stopping at my dr's yesterday just to ask if I could use their scale but decided to go ahead and wait the week until my appt. Ya know, if I'd been exercising all this time since I've started watching what I'm eating I think I'd be a lot furthur along than I am. Not to say that I don't think I'm making progress cuz I really feel like I am. Exercize and water... I always forget my water. I'm never in the same place at work for any length of time and forever losing my water or coffe cup lol... maybe i should just get one of those water things that bikers have. Strap it on and stick the straw in my mouth??? heheheh.. You know, I don't think anyone would even think it was weird. :dizzy:

Lisa: I quit the end of March and haven't had a look back. I did have a really tough day a few weeks ago and was running around work looking for a smoke. The woman who owns the restaurant next door shoved a piece of Big Red into my mouth and it helped a lot... so get some gum hehe.. You can do it!!! BTW, my hubby is still smoking like a freakin chimney. :censored: grrrrrrrrrr.

L2L: I'm glad to finally meet you! Since reading your very first post here I felt like I've known you for a long time. Actually your sense of humor reminds me of a good friend of mine that I've lost track of. I'm thinkin' I need to find her again :comp: .

Angel eyes: I'd love to hear more about this iso ball class. Is it with one of the big balls for stableization? I have one of those but no clue what to do with it.

angel-eyes 09-22-2005 11:09 PM

iwmonn.....yup, you got it. I guess iso is the company that makes alot of them because thats whats on the balls at the gym I go to and the one I have at home. The class that I go to is 1 hour and we do everything on that ball !!! We do I begin? We do situps of course on it, but we also do push ups on it. (the closer the ball is to your tummy while doing a push up is the easy version vs having the ball at your ankles). We do walking lunges while holding the ball and lifting it overhead or side to side. We lie on our sides and put the ball between our ankles and either squeeze our ankle/legs together or slightly lift our legs and ball off the ground. We lie on our backs and put our bottoms and back of our legs in a 'chair' position and gripping the ball with our calves, lift it off the ground....and then add a abdominal crunch while lifting. I could go on and on and on :blah: ......maybe stop by a sports store to check a ball out and look inside the box for the fitness instructions. Or a book store might have a book on excercises.

Sorry iwmonn....I think my previous post addressed you as 'iwmomm'...SORRY!!! :sorry:

Don't quit when the tide is lowest
For it's just about to turn.
Don't quit your doubts and questions,
For there's something you may learn.

Don't quit when the night is darkest.
For it's just a while until dawn.
Don't quit when you've run the farthest,
For the race is almost won.

Don't quit when the hill is steepest.
For your goal is almost nigh.
Don't quit, for you're not a failure
Until you fail to try.

Lisa_WY 09-23-2005 07:39 AM

Good Morning All,

Today is a beautiful day!!! Ok... I have decided that Sunday will be my final quit day. Dh is in with me BUT I hate to say this...he won't quit.I know him well enough. I probably should just do it now but I want to plan to be non smoking.I hope that makes sense. I did cut down yesterday ALOT and will continue to do so until Sunday morning and that is it!!! DH hasn't bought into the total "lifestyle" change. I can't worry about what he will do or not do..I only can change myself. He has loss weight by default about 15lbs so that is great but I know he will have a tough time giving up the smokes. I am thinking about getting him a bike for Christmas so next summer he can bike with M and me. I want to do this for Mallissa.... just like losing the weight. I KNOW I can do it. With everything we have been through... M deserves a mom who is going to be around a long long time.

I have an exercise ball too. Begged for one for my bday... It is lonely sitting upstairs and M loves to play on it. She practices her back handsprings on it. LOL I have used it a few times and dh teases me about buying it and not using it. I got instructions with it but I think you can also look up the instructions on the web somewhere. I am sure someone has a website about it.

Angel: I am going to the gym today if it kills me. I need to rid myself some stress from work for my weekend. THis weekend we are cleaning out our house. I am probably going to clean my carpets and furniture too. I want to get ready for fall. The dust bunnies need to find a new home. LOL My goal is to finish organizing my clothing in the basement, totally strip my bedroom and wash the curtins, clean from under the bed, put up plastic on the windows for winter, close the storm windows, and scrub the bathroom. Then I will work on the living room.

Iwonn: Any movement is good movement. Make up your own exercises with the ball. Put on some loud music and just do it. LOL THis site has some great suggestions on the different programs to help you lose weight.

L2L: Always glad to see you post. HOpe your dad is doing better and life gets back to normal. Fall cleaning is fun. LOL THink of all the AP's you get. LOL Also busy times makes you not smoke. I read another site on quitting smoking yesterday and the best way is to just do it..don't cut down do cold turkey. They said it takes about 2 weeks to get it out of your system. I know I can do it. Next week will be more normal than this week and I will have more time to exercise.

Curly: YOu will be fine and celebrate your sucess. I was thinking today... I am 17lbs away from onderland and my goal for Halloween is still in sight. What I need from everyone is to post how much they have loss for the Halloween challenge. I haven't been very good about keeping track of it. I have loss 9lbs toward my goal and still have 17lbs left. I know we can do it. Look how far most of us have came.

TEB, Momx3, Petra, Deerod, WHere are you?? Post to give us an update. We want to know!!! We are here for you.

Hugs and Blessings,
Lisa

Hi Ladies,
what a crazy week for me. I moved on Wednesday, then yesterday, my clothes were in this fashion show I had all the clothes done for the models but I decided to make this jumpsuit for my self and applique on it my clothing company name. hmmm....well that took me forever. And I couldn't get the pants right, I didn't even have a full length mirror to look in so I just cut the pants off and had it as a long shirt over pants.
today I went to see if my parents needed help moving and I droped a sewing machine across my knuckles, they are starting to swell and I can't type to much with the right hand. can you say pain in my a** I mean hand.
So I'm temporarily at my sisters and she has not even unpacked a glass, but the good thing is she is about 1/2 mile from the park I like to jog in so I'm hopeing to get some good jogs in while I"m up there. I went yesterday. On sunday I'm doing a 5k i'm going with some WW friends who don't jog so I'm just going to walk it with them. It should be fun.
talk to you all soon,
Jennie

Happy Friday to you all (Thursday for me)

I did two miles on the track last night. No striped, stinky kitties, no fog, no disappearing soccer players, but no tunes! My MP3 Player said "no tracks" when I attempted to play my mix of pop, rock and metal. But I still did two miles at the quickest pace I could stand. I'm sore this morning, but it's probably from this cold, damp house. I'm going to roll around on my Shiatsu ball and try to work out the kinks. No track tonight, I have to work an extra long shift tomorrow for the home ball game (going in extra early), but I'm hoping I can make up for it today. It's rainy, cold and even thundering today.

I work alone tonight and will happily check in on you chicks then. TTFN
Gotta move it!

curlylocks 09-23-2005 11:12 AM

I dont think there is any way i will make it to my goal but i will be happy if i make it to the 30's

Louie 09-23-2005 11:28 AM

Hello one and all.. it is I .. TLB !!

I took the day off to day to spend a few hours with hubby and to get caught up on some school work. I have been doing pretty well at leaving work on time, but a few deadlines forced me stay one night and now I am a bit behind on school work.

I have school this weekend again, so no rest for this wicked PIC

Food wise..hmm.. I don't know. I am trying my best to eat healthy but sometimes it just ain't working. I have so much on the go right now that it is hard to find the time for me. So I will continue to eat right, but if the weight don't come off..then so be it... as long as I don't gain then I will be happy.

I am still finding a few moments in the day to log on and see how you are all doing.. I certainly miss chatting regularly with you all and once I get into the groove of things, hopefully I will have a few more moments in the day to sneak in a PIC fix.

So until next time.. keep on keeping on !!

Take care

Teri

Hi Ladies. I am so sorry that I have not been around. I am still sick and although I have been stayiing OP with my eating I have still been lax with the exercise. I weighed this morning and I did not lose this week. I believe this is the first time I have not lost but I am not stressed. I can't exercise if I can't breath.

Curly - congrats on the loss. I said that in a whisper.

TLB - When is life going to slow down for you girlie?

Hotcup - I am glad Squeak is feeling better. Please, please be careful on your walks. There are way to many freaks out there.

Jennie - Yeah!! Jogging!! That will whip you into shape in no time.

Lisa - I really hope you make it on the no smoking thing. I know it is one of the hardest things to do but you will feel so much better.

Angel - Awww poor ds but momma's got to get her exercise in Right?

Iwmonn - Get that water in. It is so important. I have a water bottle that goes everywhere with me when I am at home. Me and the baby share it.

L2L - Sorry so to see so many bad things going on right now. I hope things get better for you real soon.

Petra - I hope all is well with you.

TTYL

Jennie....oh ah....a fashion show!!! So you are a designer then? You must be very talented, I hope you get alot of sales off of your show. I used to be a buyer for a ladies boutique and participated in alot of fashion shows and photo shoots. I LOVE the hectic-ness of it all, hard work but a big payoff!!! I also miss going to market for the new season launch!!!

TLB.....Thanks for the check in. You are so busy, you must be writing those papers/assignments in your sleep!!! Working fulltime and then school on the weekends....if that doesn't keep you hopping!!!

Curly.....hey? 8 lbs is EIGHT POUNDS!!! Good job, slow and steady is my motto. Didn't it feel good to get those new medium pants? haha...IN YOUR FACE....THESE ARE TOO BIG!!!

Hotcup......WOOHOO...You did it!!! 2 miles is nothing to sneeze at. Great job. Pop back on your shift tonight and let us know how your day went.

Lisa.....whoa GIRL....that is alot of serious cleaning!!! You are going to rack up some good AP's for sure. Wanna come to my house? Yesterday was a good cleaning day for me also. I picked up some febreeze for fabric and sprayed my loveseat and sofa....mmmm, sure smellls alot better than skunky ol' dog!! Really nice.

Well its first day of cycle break and my 7 yo son who normally sleeps a good 11-12 hours.....WAS UP AT THE CRACK OF DAWN!!! Whats up with that? :yikes: hehe...We've made 6 pictures for Dad, a double batch of 1pt banana muffins, 2 hours of lego and now we're going to head out for a walk before the rain starts. ALL BEFORE 11 AM !!!! What am I going to do for 3 three weeks? LOL....actually I was going to bring him to the gym but we got so into those pictures, we forgot about the time. And the best part? no tv yet. YEAH... I hate vegging in front of the tv with cartoon network. Have a great day everyone. tc
