:) My brother was married on St. Patty's Day, so this is his anniversary. Not sure whether that's good or bad though :o.
Jill, :dizzy: man oh man. Maybe you can get them to extend your gym membership to make up for the lost month. I'm wearing green earrings, and I have a green jacket. So, I guess you could say I'm in the spirit. Diana, I've only ever lived in NY and CA, so I'm used to high prices, sort of! Upstate NY is so gorgeous. We go to the Hudson Valley for weekends every once in a while and I just love it. I guess I've adjusted to live on this side of the coast and I actually like it better. I hope so, because I've been here for 15 plus years! Kylie, congrats! :cb: When I went on vacation and basically went op last May, I noticed how much my food choices and how much I ate had changed. I have adopted alot of new habits food wise, which was cool to find out. I bet you'll notice that too. Yeah, I think moving so far from where I grew up helped me to sort of reinvent myself. I miss the weather! and a lot of small other stuff too. California is beautiful in a very different way from NY. I miss that. The rolling golden hills. I'm creeping along weight loss wise so unless a miracle occurs or a body part falls off (knock on wood!) I will not make that Easter Challenge. That's part of the reason I'm joining the gym. It's ok, though. I needed to relax and just follow my instincts on what I needed to do. I ate basically op this week, and took a couple of mile walks, braving the 40 degree temps, ha. Missed some of my exercises over the weekend because I wasn't feeling well. I work Monday through Thursday, which is not bad at all. I work out of my home, too. Have a good one, everybody :D |
Goodmorning Gals!! I am feeling SO much better this morning, so clear headed, yay! How's things on your end of the world today? It's sunny and semi warm, and I get to work 1-9:30! I'm alright with this because I was able to sleep in this morning. I'm really enjoying my morning with my boyfriend, we actually get to wake up at the same time, rather than my normal 6am when I work 9-5:30.
It really sounds like a couple of us are being bad lately...I think it's all relative though, I know I'm eating SO much better than I was before.. Diana - I think it's a small victory everytime we talk ourselves out of McD's, or any fast food really. Jill - just don't start eating the food! I had a friend who worked at Boston Pizza (a chain here in Canada, simular to Bostons Pizza, but not really), so she started to lose a few pounds, and then she started eating almost all her meals there.. not friendly to the waist line. Eat Healthy! Lose Weight! I should be a drill sargent ;) Well, I am off to tackle my day, I just found out the girl I'm working with tonight is REALLY sick and tried to call in sick to work, but was told she couldn't. So this should be pretty interesting. -Aimee |
Hey all.. just a quick note...Just finished my bike ride, gonna go shower in a sec...I loved CA when we went to visit years ago..I have been all over the country literally, travelling with my folks every Summer, so I have seen pretty much all of it. I love the Canadian Rockies, too, Beautiful and so Pristine. We go to NH every couple of Summers to see the White Mts. But spend most of our time here, we live an about 2 hrs from Lake Placid, so I am really Upstate, lol...It is so beautiful up here, we got married right on Lake George in an old stone church that is over 200 years old, then had the reception right on the lake over looking the Mts in the back ground. From our home you can see the foothills of the Adirondacks, and the Heidleburgs..Close enough to everything. I do miss Ohio too though. People there are so much friendlier. And I miss the farm stands with the BEST corn and veggies in the Summer. Going there to visit my best friend the end of may, Looking forward to taking my hubby to a beautiful Zoo. he took me to th Bronx zoo last year and I was HIGHLY disappointed in that. The Toledo Zoo is just beautiful...Well, gotta run, Have a great rest of your day!

Well, I weighed, and am down a full pound.. so I changed my ticker! I'm half way there!! I don't think I'll hit it by the end of March... but I'm pretty happy with my progress so far :) Alright, I'm really going to work this time!! -Aimee |
Story time =P
It was a cold and windy night. Jill had just left work, her uniform smelling of the french fries and burgers she had been serving to hungry customers for hours. How many hours? She had no idea, for she realized she had no watch to wear during her shift. Rounding the corner toward her apartment, she saw a bright glow out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head to see what could possibly exude such a heavenly aura. Ahh, yes. Wal-Mart. A convenience gift from the gods if ever there was one, with its aisles and aisles of clothes and tools and paint and toys and food and shoes and jewelery and books and...watches. She carefully maneuvered her vehicle toward the store, lit up like a beacon against the dark night sky.
Inside, she wandered toward the accessory section in search of the time-keeping device she so desperately needed. Upon her arrival of the wrist-encompassing jewelery, Jill immediately found the watch of her waitressing dreams. At a reasonable six dollars and forty-three cents, it were as if she and that watch were meant to be together. She picked up the watch and turned around, beginning her trek toward the front registers. That's when it happened. She stopped dead in her tracks. Her pulse quickened and grew ever louder, drowning out all other sounds around her. Feelings of joy, comfort, frustration, determination, sadness, and deprivation came swarming from all directions into her mind and heart like an unstoppable cascading waterfall of emotions, for there, in the center of the aisle, was displayed the most perfect, while at the same time, the most purely evil product she had never even dared to dream of. White chocolate Resse's peanut butter eggs: packages of six, two for four dollars. How was it even possible? How could they have possibly created a candy even more delectable than the original milk-chocolate peanut butter egg? And if they had, in fact, attained victory over such a feat, how could it possibly be within the realm of her normal monetary means? It was altogether amazing and wonderful and fantastic and... But no. No, how could she stop for the precious treasure? How could she even consider taking a step backwards when her journey was yet so long? And yet, could one little, tiny step backwards really have a noticeable effect on her path to a goal that seemed so far, so unreachable... Jill walked slowly toward the display. She reached out a hand and picked up the half-dozen collection of wonderment. She stared at the shiny outter wrapping, her faint reflection showing in the celophane. That reflection. Yes, that reflection. That was her. Those were her eyes, and those were her cheeks, and those were her chins. She put the package back down on the tower of eggs. She took a step back, then quickly turned and rushed to the check-out. The watch. She had come this far for the watch. Not the eggs. Not the calories. Not the fat. The watch. Jill left the deceptively-heavenly store knowing that while it seemed so convenient and safe on the outside, it truly contained her most feared nemesis. A feeling of pride and satisfaction filled her as she drove off toward her apartment in the night. She had succeeded in denying the enemy. She had avoided the devil's taunting of tastiness, not wishing to step in the wrong direction on the long road that yet lay ahead. She had won...this time... |
LOLOLOLOLOL I am going to print that out and put it on my fridge!!! Fantastic story, and well done for defeating your nemesis.

Great story Jill. You definitely have a way with words. Must be the name ;)
I've tasted the white chocolate reese's cups and they weren't near as good as the originals. |

wow, that does sound gorgeous. I'd love to have a wedding like that. I wouldn't mind living some place with friendlier people, NYers aren't always the least stressed people, if you know what I mean! Quote:
 I love the Bronx Zoo. There's a lunch area where you can eat with a view of the flamincos. And the new gorilla area I thought was amazing. Ever been to the Bronx Botanic Garden? Really nice in the spring. |

Jill, I was  here at my computer. My name is Marge, and I'm a candyholic. Hey, Dawnyal  Yeah, the orignal reeses have a special place in my heart.... and have an evil way of planting themselves on other parts of my body in another form! ;) |
I just now read all the new posts since yesterday. Boy, y'all have been talkative! ;) Loved the Wal-Mart story!
Not much going on around here. I made corned beef and cabbage in our crockpot, but it really doesn't appeal. Part of the reason is seeing all that fat I cut off, realizing there's still a lot in there. I tried a recipe that uses 3 Tbsp. sugar and 3 Tbsp. vinegar along with the cabbage and onions, plus I put in carrots (gasp! orange!) and potatoes. In the end...Didn't like it so much. Howie did, though, so he can have the leftover or we can freeze the beef for later use. I had one serving, but decided it just wasn't worth the calories and fat to me. The old Kimberley would have eaten more, anyway, just because "it's there". |
LOL @ Marge, yes was very disappointed in the Bronx zoo. We ate at the place you mentioned and were entertained by a few rats...And it was very dirty...My zoo in Toledo, well, it is very clean for one thing, and one of the top zoos in the country now...Will post the URL for you in case u get a chance to check it out. I had a couple of people mention the Bronx zoo being dirty too, so I guess it isn't just me, LOL...That is a huge pet peeve of mine, trash and garbage. Here it is so dirty, I hate that. I hate going on a picnic and having to clean up after everyone before me before I can sit and enjoy a meal..Or walking on the trails and seeing bottles and butts everywhere. Even here, where I live now, walking my dog every day, there is garbage all over the roadside now...I really get annoyed with that. And that is really the one thing I hate the most here. Other than that, I love living here. well on that note, gotta hit the hay...have a good night all,

We'll have to check out the Toledo Zoo. Columbus Zoo is nice. I've not been there for years, though. My aunt took us to the Indianapolis Zoo a few years ago and it was really nice. When the weather gets nicer, I want to do the zoo thing!

There is a Zoo in Seattle! I am planning to go as I haven't really been to the zoo before.. the one in Vancouver, is, uhm, almost closed. It's bad. My bf's uncle is some head up guy at the zoo in Seattle, so we plan to hit it up one day.
Jill - loved the story! I am a very lucky person, chocolate doesn't do it for me... but put a coke in front of me, very cold, with ice in it? Oh man.. scary. Kimberly - I'm totally like that, I just eat things because they are around.. I don't keep things like that in my house anymore. And most of the time I can't make enough to feed the bf. So! It's coming up on the last week of working it out to meet Easter/March goals, what are your plans? I'm planning to stay 95% on plan, and will throw in a few workouts, I'm hoping to feel motivated enough to workout everyday. My cut off date is technically the 31st, but we have a family gathering on the 27th & 28th, so I'm hoping to be down by then. 10 pounds is a little much, but I'm thinking, 3-4? I'm watching this new J. Lo video, the lady is goodlooking! But wow, to have the time and money to devote to your body? I can't imagine! Still.. I wouldn't mind having her body. I always wanted to be in the entertainment business, but I can NOT sing, I'm just cute. And possibly full of myself? Not really... but I can admit that I have perfect skin, and nice hair. Alright! I'm not that superficial.. honest.. I'm gonna head to bed.. I'll talk to ya'll tomorrow :) I like this little group.. it's nice to have people to check in with and talk to! -Aimee |
