At least I'm not the only one at work today Star! :D There is no way I'm getting on my bike when it's below... oh... 60 degrees. I'm a WIMP!!! My bikes have been in storage for a month and a half and they'll stay there until Aprilish.
I've got my gym bag in the car and I'm going after work! :carrot: It's going to suck, but I don't work out because I love it, I work out because of how I feel afterwards. Hubby bought me some boxing gloves and pads for him so I can do some boxing at home. We were playing around with them yesterday and I'm supprised at how well it works for getting out aggression! I highly recommend them for anyone who wants to punch their husband occasionally without actually doing it.

Can you swim Star, or is there no pool near you? Who cares, you get to (maybe) go back to the gym and work out soon! :carrot:

Kathy

PS. Don't get your glasses checked... I like looking young! :D

Star 12-27-2005 04:15 PM

Kathy - LOL about boxing with your DH...that is so cool. I do know how it feels becuz back in the 80's DH and I took karate and I use to love kicking him in just the right place......it feels great to be able to defend yourself against a male and actually look and feel like you know what your doing. Oh-Rah.....
Good for you about going to the gym...Do some cardio for me. Actually I'll be back soon kicking it hard.....
I am the biggest SISSY rider in Michigan........my fav times to ride is in the Spring or Fall. NOT in the hot heat, rain, wind or cold......lol

Hey Ladies!

Sorry I've been MIA...but I probably will continue to be MIA until next week! I just wanted to stop in and see how everyone's doing.I wanted to wish you a very happy holidays. I hope that your Christmas went wonderfully and that your New Year's will be great. I have some sad news. I had to put my little old terrier mix, Lucy, to sleep last Friday. She had gotten real sick and had hemolytic anemia and wasnt responding to the steroids. I am really sad, but have finally seemed to quit crying. Although, once in a while I think about her and cry a tiny bit. I do miss her, but at least she's not in pain anymore. I decided to have her cremated, so that when I die she can go with me. So, I'm kinda down in the dumps, but I'm alright. My pets are my children. Anyhow, I hope that you all are doing good. I will talk to you more next week.

As for the diet...not going so great. Although, I do seem to have a touch of stomach flu and not eating much. LOL

Love ya'll

BIG HUGS

Hi all - I'm swamped at the moment, too...DS & family are in from Portland this week...Andrea so sorry about dear Lucy!!!!

I've been pretty bad about being OP....the kitchen is pretty much back together, but the bathroom still has no sink...DH is at the :censor: stage....back to Home Depot for another peice of pipe....

I'll answer with a real post soon. (This was too short to count) :D

Hugs and Happy New year everyone!!

PsycoPhat 12-29-2005 10:38 AM

Hey everyone.
I'm kinda bummed out. Holidays are over, business is slow, hubby and I are bickering a lot and I'm finding it hard to work out and eat clean. I went to the gym last night and did 3 miles of run/walking, but I came home and ate peanut m&m's.

Poor Kathy. I hate pitty parties! I know this is just a little bump in the road, but it still sucks. :kickcan:

I hope you all are doing good!
Kathy

Star 12-29-2005 10:49 AM

Hi Kathy -
Well, get the m&m's out of the house.....I've started getting rid of all the bad stuff in the house. Want it clean of temptation for the 2nd when DH and I start back on plan......Geez, I've been sooooooooooooooo bad for two months that I'm really excited about eating 'clean' again. Hope I remember how to do it....lol
Went to get my teeth cleaned yesterday. After I was there and the girl started cleaning, about 15 minutes into it, it hit her that I should have taken antibiotics prior becuz of my new (toe) joint. So she stopped and I had to reschedule in Janurary and take antibiotics prior......DARN - I LOVE getting my teeth cleaned....
Anyhow I go to the foot doctor today and I'm hoping he tells me I can get my foot wet and that I can start exercising again. BTW, my DH went to our place up north and is bringing back my recumbent bike. That should be a great way to get some extra cardio in while watching tv......(get my a$$ off the sofa...lol)
Kathy, one more day and it's the weekend - oh-rah!!! Hopefully you and DH will feel better with the new year......
Andrea - So sorry to hear about Lucy - Hugs to you sweetie....
Gina - Sounds like you are doing some major remodeling, that is awesome....Get all your work done and come back and play....
Hey to Holly and all the rest of you biker babes....
Hugs.....

chick_in_the_hat 12-30-2005 01:06 PM

Morning chickies!!!

I love when family comes to visit....but I also love when they leave!

Well - the house is almost back in one piece....just the bathroom sink left to put together...supposedly we have all the pieces - I'll believe it when I see it done...

Star - I hope the doc gave the go ahead to get yuor foot wet...what a PITA...

Kathy - Star's right - get rid of the M&M's..

Well actually I shouldn't be saying that...I was definately not OP this last week - but somehow 3 more pounds are gone...I'm thinking of starting the eat chocolate to lose weight diet...:lol3: I suppose it might have been Jillian's workouts...but it seems nicer to think it was the chocolate.

I'm trying to talk DH into going to see Jackie Greene for New Year's...I'm afraid I've kind of burned him out on JG....but I haven't made him go since July..but he's my favorite! He's a local boy - but he just got a national record deal so he will be touring more and not playing around town as much as before...we'll see what I have to give in exchange for this one. :^:

Star 12-30-2005 01:22 PM

Gina - Thanks for asking about my foot. The doc gave me the ok for a bath - thank goodness!!! He also gave me the ok to wear my regular shoe, which would be great 'IF' it fit. Can't get that foot in any of my shoes, I don't have normal lace up tennis shoes, I have Sketchers pull ons.....
Thinking of going to Payless and getting a pair of cheap mules, a size bigger in wide.......
hey - Send me a copy of the CHOCOLATE diet for sure...I would be sooooooooo ready to dive into that new eating plan.....yum
Hope you get your way with DH about going to see Jackie Green......I think I know which trade-off will work for you....lol
Hugs

PsycoPhat 12-30-2005 01:36 PM

Hello there!
Good to hear about your foot Star! Did he say you could exercise yet, or just get it wet?

I can't get rid of the M&M's, hubby put the damn bag in my stocking after I told him no candy:mad: . But, I've left it in the office and he's eating a lot of them!

Good job on losing the 3 pounds Gina! The chocolate diet sounds wonderful! :D

Have a good day everyone!
Kathy:newyear:

chick_in_the_hat 01-01-2006 02:05 PM

Well - NYE was a compromise - I went to the Jackie Greene concert without DH - but we met up just before midnight to go see the fireworks for New Years...it was quite fun!!!

Gotta go hit the gym.. I'm all motivated cause I weighed in again this morning and lost another 2 pounds....I might make it to goal someday after all!!

Catch y'all later! Hope everyone is having a nice New Year's Day!!

2frustrated 01-03-2006 08:58 AM

 Happy new year everyone!

Back on the bike today since it's back to work *sigh* glad I wasn't riding over the Christmas "snow-fest" that was promised! We never get any snow that's worth looking at anyway. It never settles.

Stayed the same over Christmas which is great :D Especially after stuffing my face on Christmas day and TRYING to be good for the week after but failing misserably! I kept up my running all through the holidays which was GREAT! Probably did more running this past week than I do on a normal week, since I actually dragged DF out for a weekend run (we're usually "tired").

Just busting my a$$ to get 1lb off by Friday, just trying! It's "official" weigh in day and I'd just for once be lower than I am now, I've been on this flippin plateau for YONKS! :tantrum:

HarleyMom 01-03-2006 01:03 PM

Hi all back to work! I enjoyed my time off but it was somewhat stressful as my mom has taken a turn and decided to go with in home hospice last week. The hospice nurse said it would be about 6 to 8 weeks but couldn't really give us an exact idea. I have a lot of family wanting to come to see her and she is not really happy about it but people have to do what they have to get through this in their way. She is weak and very tried and it is hard to rest with a parade of people constantly calling and coming to visit. I feel sorry for her. She told me she wishes she could just sleep through until the end.

Stayed pretty good with not eating junk over the holiday. Was hard to stay on program as I spent a lot of time away from home. I lost 1.8 lbs last week and had a total loss of about 5 lbs in December so I am not complaining. I have to go weigh in today. I have been pretty good about exercising while I've been off. It is one of things I have done for myself that makes me feel good. It is funny how when your fat and out of shape the last thing you want to do is get moving but once you start it makes you feel so much better. We went sledding while I was off and I had more energy than my 15 year old daughter. It made me feel good! By the way made it to onederland last week. Yipee it has been over 5 years since I've been this weight. 51 lbs gone from start in July. I am just about half way there. I want to lose 108 total but may need to evaulate that as I get closer to my goal.

Star so glad your foot surgery went well and you healed quickly. Hat Chick congrats on the new floor. I am looking forward to it someday myself. Kathy don't beat yourself up for eating the candy. I saw something on the news while I was off that said 80% - 20% rule. Basically eat right 80% of the time and give yourself what ever you want 20% of the time. They said the average person could lose 30 lbs in a year just by doing that. I thought it was interesting don't know that it would work for me. 2 frust I am glad someone can ride at this time of the year. Hope you loose that pound by Friday. Hi to everyone else and hope you all enjoyed your Holidays.

rebelridergirl 01-03-2006 03:07 PM

I hope that you all had a terrific New Year's!

I am doing much better and totally enjoying my time off. Sadly, today is my last day off... I know I shouldn't complain...some of you have been working since last week.

I am still not On Plan, though and that sucks. Maybe going back to work will help with that.

HarleyMom- Congrats on the 5 pounds lost during December!

Gina- Whooo hoo on the weight loss!

You girls are rockin'!

Star- I'm so glad that everything went well with your foot! How is your hubby doing with not smoking?

Hi to Kathy, 2 Fru, Holly and anyone else I missed.

I will be posting again regularly now!

Star 01-03-2006 03:34 PM

Hi Chicks...
I'm officially back on plan....even sent out a search and rescue team for my scale this morning....they found it hiding under some undisclosed materials in the hall pantry. I got on and my ticker is correct (finally). Not as bad as I had thought but not good....lol
Did 30 minutes on the recumbent bike last night. Got up did 25 more plus my ab tape and bun & thigh roller tape....oh-rah... I need to get back with the exercise thing. My foot feels great and I can actually fit into my mule type tennis shoes........
Okay, sorry not to address everyone, but I'm suppose to be doing some work....will read and catch up later this week.....
HUGS - This is gonna be a great year and we are all gonna reach our goals.......
Hugs...
