Debbie - Welcome!! I'm having the same problem with eating too many peanuts today...guess I was a little cocky after I did ok yesterday. :o
Ahh well - I kicked butt on the ellyptical for an hour and then took the dog for a walk...somebody get those friggin peanuts outta here!!!!! 2Fru - did you manage to dress yourself properly before the work day was over? Just say that whatever you are wearing is the latest in Japanese fashion...if you say it with enough confidence (and a straight face) they might buy it? |
Hi: Well Thanksgiving is over way too soon. All the preparatory work and its all over in a flash. Had a great time and did pretty good with the eating. Today we are just snacking and I think I'm still doing ok. Sunday we hope to take a ride with the trike club and get tacos at a local pub and visit with the members. Anybody race out Friday morning to be at the stores at 5 AM? Didn't have to do that this year. The day after Christmas my daughter & I will be waiting in line for the stores to open for the after Christmas sales. Thats it for now.

Good morning everyone,
I've been cleaning out a couple of drawers full of pictures from when we were on the road. Of course I had to look thru them. OMG... some are beautiful. post card or calendar beautiful. I forgot to tell ya'll I drove truck with Dh for 6 1/2 years. I love it but it was real bad for our health. I gained 110 lbs. When we first quit I could barely walk anymore, and really had a hard time getting up stairs. Doing much better now. It drizzly today but temps are in the 60's. If it clears off some we plan to go for a ride. I've done fair on food. But didn't make it to curves this am. I WILL make it on monday. I try to go 4 times a week. :carrot: Busdriver: No, I stayed away from the shopping rush friday. It get so crazy. Chick _in_the_hat: Thanks for the welcome. Later |
Hi all! My name is Monica & I'm a 31 yr old single mom. I have a 7 yr old son that I love & adore! I also love to ride (hence the login name)! I just received my motorcycle endorsement 3 months ago & my wonderful boyfriend bought me a Honda Manga 750 as an early Christmas present. I'm having fun learning & making the "newbie" mistakes on my Magna, before I invest in my future Harley!!! : ) I'm also struggling to get my weight back on track! I weighed 203 when my son was born & I worked my tail off, literally, to get to the magical weight of 120. I used food to soothe myself after my divorce & I'm now at 146. May not seem like a lot, but I worked too hard to lose it, just to let myself go again! I'm hoping to connect with people who understand & gain inspiration from what seems like a great group of women! Thanks for listening to me ramble...I appreciate it!!!! Have an awesome weekend!

Monica :welcome3:
I'm also a newbie to this thread. I've read several posts and it seems comfortable here. I've stayed op today. Even got dh to take a short walk with me. You don't even know what a miracle that is. Our weather turned out to be beautiful but we didn't take our ride. Hopefully tomorrow, but we are under a wind advisory. :( FOOD: B- eggbeaters, sliced tomato, dry ww toast L- ww meal, carrots D-? I hope I don't bore ya'll to death but I think posting my food hold me accountable. Later |
Welcome Monica!!! :welcome2: Hey - you mentioned that 146 might not sound like much - but I say woo hoo :carrot: that you woke up at 146 instead of going back to 203 or beyond.

I'm going to try to make stuff this year...I just can't get into malls where you have to elbow your way around. (I need a Bah Humbug emoticon) I just haven't decided what to make just yet...:chin: |
Thank you for the warm welcomes! Debbie, it's too bad you didn't get to go for the ride....at least you were a "good girl" & exercised! That should make you feel better : ) I have the hardest time getting myself to exercise these days. I feel like a million bucks afterwards though!! That wind can be pretty annoying too, as it's hard to enjoy the ride when you're fighting to stay on the road!
Chick, I actually realized that my weight gain needed to come to a halt at about 140. If I could just get my willpower back!!! I keep thinking "Oh well, I'll do better tomorrow!" & now I'm at 146!!! I'm a very all-or-nothing person. If I cheat 1 time during the day, I tend to think "I already screwed up today, might as well make it an all day cheatathon!!" Afterwards, I feel fat & mad at myself...vowing to do better the next day! (sigh) It's such a silly, depressing cycle. I also avoided the shopping rush Friday. Granted, I had to work & couldn't shop if I wanted to. My bf told me I could go before work, but there was NO WAY that was happening. I can barely get to work by 8AM, let alone go to Walmart at 5AM!!! I think I'm going to try to shop via the internet as much as possible this year. People are so absurdly rude, that by the time I get out of the store I'm pretty much ready to rip someone's head off! That's bad too, as I'm generally a very calm, patient person. Had my THIRD Thanksgiving feast yesterday, now I feel like a big blimp! Guess I'll try to make myself get on the treadmill...wish me luck!! Thanks again!!!! |
Monica - don't make me break out the rolling pins...:rollpin: I agree it's hard to get into the exercise habit - but the benefits are huge!!! I never thought I would be enjoying it...but here I am. Resistance training 4 days a week, cardio 5 days...dog walking 7 days...:carrot:
As for the cheat once and give up on the whole day - I think you already know that's wrong :soap: ...what were you doing when you lost the weight the first time? Try and find the mindset that worked before...for starters stop beating up on yourself...you can do this!!! Go look up some healthy recipes if you cook...give yourself something different to eat and look forward to...plan ahead so you aren't stuck eating junk because it's all that's available. :goodluck: I guess I got the rolling pin out after all..I'm great at giving advice...now if I could make my brilliance work for me! :dizzy: |
 Gina, I needed some of that advice too - and it's exactly what I was going to say! On the exercise front - I've been lazing around under my duvet for too long since I came back from Japan (I've been feeling a bit crook so it's not too undeserved) and today I've packed my running clothes in my work bag! So I really don't have an excuse not to go running at lunch. We'll see what happens!
I'm trying to be an  for the next two weeks to get rid of some of this Japanese bulging going on in my stomach area! I also really want to get serious on the running front too, because I KNOW it will make a huge difference! |
I did it! Yahoo! I went for my run! I feel so GOOD! :D
I'm starving now too - I need my wierd tuna egg fried rice  |
Hi ladies!
Ohhh what a bad girl I've been! :hun: I've been logging everything I've been eating lately, and that came to a sudden halt on Thanksgiving when I ate a lot of food, including cheese, summer sausage and crackers  . I didn't do too bad the rest of the weekend....except yesterday. After the gym I ate a ton of pasta - it was leg/back/bicep/shoulder day so I earn my pasta  - but I ate so much that I didn't eat dinner until 9pm then went to bed an hour later. Bad, very bad. I did work out Wednesday thru Sunday, so I stayed on course with that. It's back to the grindstone today though! Welcome Debbie and Love 2 Ride! I'm with you Gina, I need my time at the gym. A body in motion stays in motion, a body at rest stays at rest. This body in in motion! Um... 2frustrated. What the heck is tuna egg fried rice? Have a great day everyone! I'm off to do some "work" Kathy |
 Just what it says on the tin!
I made egg fried rice, with tuna and vegetables. It was luvverly and very filling that I couldn't eat it all! It's what my friend (from Hong Kong) calls "special" egg fried rice although she puts pork in hers! I'm really hungry now! Bring on dinner! Just 15 mins to home time! :D Then that means it's dinner time soon! I get to eat more nice healthy stuff so it can't be bad! Not bad riding today although I did get cramp in my accelerator hand this morning. Just dark now, urgh! |
Thank Gosh Thanksgiving is over.....
Hi Biker Babes.....Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and did better than me with the eating control......... Boy oh boy, when my doctor said "Now don't diet until I see you again" Did I ever take his advice :o When he sees me tomorrow night he is gonna say "Hum I guess you followed my advice to the fullest" :hun: He for sure will have very strong new advice......:coach: like "OKAY -YOU NEED TO START THAT DIET AGAIN"
I don't know about ya'll but when I'm not eating right I just feel funny posting on here. Although I love to read all you have to say - you all do so good. I guess I'm hoping it will rub off on me any minute here.....Really I think I have gained about 10 pounds and so my ticker isn't right....I guess after I go to the doctor on Wed I will weigh at home and fix that dang ticker...... I just wanted to welcome the new chicks, Debbie and Love to Ride :welcome: . I'm also a granny to 4, with two on the way......aren't they fun:bb: :bb: :bb: :bb: (:bb: :bb: ) Hi to Harley, Gina, Ruth, Rebel, Holly, Superwoman and Kathy.....Geez - we are growing - our little "Biker Babe Group" ain't so little anymore... Hugs to all.......:moped: :snowball1 |
2 frust welcome back from Japan. I missed your humor while you where gone! Glad you had a good time.
Kathy, Gina, Holly, Star, Reb, Busdriver hope you all had a great Thanksgiving sounds like some did! Welcome Debbie and Monica. Glad to have you join us Biker Babes! Well chicks I had a pretty good holiday. I ate a little more then usual but I think I kept it under control for the most part! Missed you all this weekend. My house got the tree up and decorated, outdoor lights out and hung! Yippee I don’t have to work on it in the snow next weekend. Ginger bread house making was fun. I had 16 people over to my house. I’ve decided that I need to put plastic down on everything from now on. Royal icing is the messiest stuff! It is like cement when it dries. What cute houses everyone made. Not a project for the impatient I must say. It takes time to get those little buggers constructed and decorated. I guess we will be going on the toy run next weekend. I won’t ride if it is not above 30 degrees that day. I’ll leave that to DH. BTW lost another 3.6 lbs last week. Hopefully didn’t find some of it back this week. Almost under 200’s! It is been over 6 years. Hope you all have a great day! Keep on Keep’n on biker Chicks! |
Yeah!!! The eating frenzy is OVER!!!!!!!!
So, you can all tell that I have been very very naughty with eating for the past week. My stupid pants feel tight... WELCOME Debbie and Monica!!! We are always so glad to have new biker babes join us :carrot: Star- I agree about the feeling guilty of posting when I am not eating right. But I'm selfish and love reading your posts...so post anyhow...:smug: I did come to a decision to not gain over 7 pounds with the holidays. After Christmas I think that I'll be more aggressive. 2fru- Glad that your trip to Japan went well! Kathy- Good for you to keep up your workouts! I need to use you and Gina as my excersise motivators! Debbie- If it helps to post your meals for the day...feel free. I think that it would be good to set up some sort of challenge... |
