Sounds great Star! Summers are so hard for me to lose any weight. I think its b/c I work so hard and then I'm always hungry. I just need to plan better things to eat, but I'm trying!

Rebel - We will make our goals, we can kick each other in the butt.........
See you on the 11th..... Hugs - Star |
Hi chicks!!!!!!!!!
bummer I missed saying bye to Star! :( Kathy, YUMMM to your new bike!!! congrats! :D hey Rebel, HI!!!! been busy working, riding :D OH - this is big news - had a heart-to-heart last night with husband - it came though after a huge blow-up :( this stuff is so painful! but we both agreed that we want it to work...he still resists the counseling suggestion but at least I also got the idea of a physical in his head (one for me, also) and we just have to freakin' DAILY try to keep being aware and considerate of each other. Sheesh  but I feel that some progress has been made. Kathy, congrats also on TIME ALONE. Enjoy it! I should have told Star that 9.95 plus S & H is a very good price, if you're selling spunky attitude  Yesterday was day off, I just went out and did almost 150 miles, nice  Did I tell you guys about my Stage 1 kit, rejetting and new pipes that are on order??? unfortunately pipes are on backorder - booo!! I'm so impatient. I CAN'T WAIT to hear and feel what my little Cupcake will do after the job  The new jacket husband got me is actually quite nice...it's HEAVY, will protect me much better than my thinner HD jacket...plus, it has zippered vents under the arms, two cool zippered little stowaway pockets on the forearms, huge, deep breast pocket that is zippered, vented and velcroed- zippered wrists which also have a small velcro tap to cinch it tight...very nice. and I'm LOVING my saddlebags! oh - funny - I had lunch yesterday with a woman who is a real girly-girl - she's in awe of my motorcycling cause she's afraid of them  - but she watched me suiting up yesterday, and said, "I like your motorcycle purses" like they're Prada's summer line of concho bags  take care! |
Hi everyone! :) Happy 4th of July!
I've been busy running around with my time off, doing a little "retail therapy" in town as well as online for the new bike...lot's o' goodies on the way! ;) This not riding is driving me crazy, so if you all have any riding storie and pics do share, I need to live vicariously thru you until this weekend. :bike: I'm still doing good on the exercise, and I'm really watching what I eat, but I'm not stepping on the scale until Friday when a week as passed, hopefully I'll see some results. Star, I'm in on any challenge you want to do! I'm not in Utah, but I'm in southern Idaho, so I get down to that area often. In fact, I'll be spending August and September in SLC for training. Quote:
You all have a great day, I'm off to clean something! Kathy |
hi chicks!
sorry that I don't post as much as I should...but each time I exercise, I think of my 3FC friends :) update on my upgrade - the Stage 1 kit arrived today, STILL waiting on the Cobra pipes...I didn't hear from my mechanic today, so that means it'll be at least Monday yet AGAIN :( I will be very very happy when that work, plus my fork seals, are done. |
:coffee:
Hey Chicks - Vacation went by way too fast.......so here I am back to the grind... Utah is so beautiful it's not fair to visit there and then have to go home ;) My SIL lives on a mountain and shares the mountain with deers, doe's and moose. They actually come up to her house and could be looking in your bedroom when you wake up  We went to Sundance (Robert Redford's mountain) on what use to be my birthday. That was a blast! My son ordered one of every dessert on the menu :o Thank goodness only two were chocolate (and we all 7 of us shared). As far as getting exercise while there, we did hike the mountain trails. If you consider marthon shopping exercise - we did plenty of that  Now to the eating - well I tried to be aware of what went in my mouth. I will see how I did when I have to go to COD  at lunch today and will share that later. So I haven't gone back and read any posts from when I left. I have alot of work to catch up on. I think I'll just start back here and meet the new chicks as they post - BUT WELCOME ofcourse :hat: Hugs to all - it's good to be back in the coupe...... ;) |
Hi Chicks
You all sound like you are having such fun. My almost 17 year old son just got a motorcycle. I agonized over this for weeks, joined forums, studied. Decided that he is a pretty responsible young man..Straight A student, works full time in the summer and after school when classes are on..He took the saftey class. He has full gear, Leather and Mesh Jackets, Leather and Mesh pants, boots, gloves and full face helmet. Bought this 92 kawasaki ex 500 with his own money and even pays the insurance. He has such a smile on his face every time he comes back from riding.. We set rules and he is following them. This is a very small place we live in (1200 people)and he just rode around our town for 2 months learning how to handle it. I am a widow so there was no dad in the picture to help with this. But he has done great he makes it look like such fun that I am hoping after I lose some more weight this year that next summer I can use his old one when he gets his newer one. I would buy it from him of course. I am getting excited about it. Right now I am so big, and I am 54 that I wouldn't feel very comfortable on it. Need to lose some more weight to get more agile. But I hope to lose another 50 pounds by next summer and that is my goal. Then I hope you fine chicks will let this ole chick in the circle of motorcycles. Cindi

Welcome Flower Power = I too am a child of the love and peace generation........I just turned 56. Numbers are just that - numbers. I certainly don't feel 56 and sure as heck don't act it either.
About your weight holding you back, ba humbug. I ride with tons of BIG Harley guys and they aren't waiting to lose weight to ride....lol BTW, there are plenty of plus-size chick riders too. Again - WELCOME on our journey.......PEACE..... |
Hey ladies!
Star glad your vacation was awesome! I hate leaving Kansas to somewhere gorgeous and then having to come back to the "beauty" here. LOL! Holly- Its so good that you had a talk with dh and hopefully that will really help u two to reconnect. Your pipes sound awesome. You are such a cool chick! Kathy- Hey girl! Cindi- I totally understand where you're coming from being afraid to ride while too heavy. Star and Holly are really helping me to see that anyone anysize who wants to ride should. Glad to have you here! Mom and dads anniversary went great and was totally busy. In fact things have been really busy. I am hoping to have that :censored: internet up and going soon so that I can check in more often. Grrrrr... Anyhow ladies I will check back in a few days! |
Where are you in Kansas Rebelridergirl. I grew up in Great Bend, in fact I am going there to visit family Thursday. Thanks for the encouragement. Maybe I will do this before next year..But I was going to use it as a big reward for losing 54 more pounds...That would put me at my second long term goal. Then I'll worry about the rest. Thanks for the welcome..Someday I'll be a proud member of Chicks on Motorcycles...Cindi

Hey Biker Chicks! I've been lurking since you took up residence in Miscellaneous Clubs. I post over on the Royals threads.
It has been my goal for a loooong time to have a bike by my 40th birthday. I turn 36 this summer, so I still have time. I think it will be sooner, though. I've been riding with my neighbor on his Harley...'96 Sportster 1200 Custom...doing some charity rides and last weekend we went across the border to a biker rally in New York. (I'm in the Toronto area.) He is very enthusiastic about teaching me to ride, wants me to get my beginner's (M1 here) license, and take me over to the high school to get me comfortable on the bike, then I'll take the MSF and get licensed. My plan is to do all this next spring. We just bought a house and DH keeps reminding me we can't afford for me to get a bike and insurance yet. So I'm happy to tag along with my neighbor for this season and get to know the crowd he rides with. I've picked up some great information from you girls while lurking. Thought I would finally stop in and say hello! :bike: |
Welcome Wildfire!
Sounds like your doing all the right stuff. Go ahead and get yur MI, never know when a steal fo a deal might cross your path.........It's really fun when your first getting the hang of the whole biker thing. Any chance of getting DH involved? |
