  • hello chicks! Welcome Kim!! WOW, first congrats on your stellar loss; and look at how glowing and little but still nicely curvy you are!

I am a little discouraged that my *%#@ scale hasn't shown a loss, even though I have almost doubled my exercise. i will still keep on keepin on, because I know it has to happen eventually, and I do feel some new strength in my abs and arms, but come on, give me even a pound loss, please

Jill - we don't have a trailer, nor a truck to pull one with. We are going bikeless to Chilli. After being there last year, we saw that we can choose to think of it as a big party, that doesn't necessarily need bikes

I hope all our friends here will pop in soon to say hi!! I know Gina was on vacay...but HarleyMom? 2frust? our beloved Star? remember PsychoPhat (Kathy)? we miss you all.
  • I'm baackkkk

and there's a little more of me to love..

In a way I think it's a good thing because I needed to stop being complacent. I've been OP all this week and a couple pounds have come back off. I'm cutting back on the heavy duty cardio a little - it makes me sooo hungry! My brain says - you rode your bike for 2 hours you can eat whatever you want...this is not entirely true.

The trip was nice - a needed break. Central Mexico is really green right now - I keep forgetting summer is their rainy season - I usually go down in the winter and everything is brown. Note to self - more trips in summer.

On the new job/new bike front...not gonna happen until January...but here's what I'm dreaming about..

    Patience, Gina....

    Enuf about me...

Holly - take measurements and pics! That's where you will see results from weight training.

momof3teens!! Those are some amazing results in the pics! You look fabulous!

Jill - missed you!! Your site is very professional - nice job!

Kayla - congrats on weighing less than DH...I'm still working on that one. I might have to fatten him up..is that cheating?

Andrea - on your continued losses - YOU GO , GIRL!!
  • HI GINA!!

So glad to see you too!

Make it a great weekend, Chickies! Some of you won't have too many nice ones left! As for me, I can't WAIT for winter here...I'm ready for some 75 degree temps.
  • Hi chicks!

WELCOME BACK GINA!!!! and funnnnnny avatar pic

OH my, is that a V-Rod but with the blacked-out details? DROOOOOOOOOL!!!

Jill's wishing for winter, I don't want summer to ever end!!! Yes, Holly sees the solution (stroking chin thoughtfully) I just have to live in Vermont in the summer and Florida for the winters

WELL chicks I thought I'd be safe to have myself weighed and measured at Curves...all these workouts and i thought I was eating better... their scale showed me UP three pounds but still a few inches or half-inch losses here and there. I guess I'll take it. I still haven't lost enough to be on their damn "Wall of Fame" (Ten pounds or ten inches). I'm a slow learner, I guess I'm a slow loser also!

    take care! hugs to all
  • that was too much to try and keep on with who posted what, lol.

Welcome and welcome back to everyone.

I'm glad vacations were great. I just want a nice fall here not winter. That can wait.

We all have times where the scale doesn't move or we are off track. I have been majorly off track the past couple of weeks. Gotta get back on.

Love the tt pics and absolutely can not wait to be able to do mine. Probably about a year away and I hope not any longer then that.

    Kayla
  • Good Monday afternoon everybody! We spent the weekend at the HOG Rally in Knoxville had a great time, food wise, not so great! I gotta stop acting like calories dont count on the weekends! Hope everybody has an amazing week!

WOW Kayla, I just looked at your ticker! Outstanding weight loss! Congrats!!
  • Hi everyone!

Kim- Welcome! Congratulations on the wonderful weightloss. You look fantastic!

Holly- hang in the! I'm sure that you're really toning up a lot. The scale will drop. I really think all the humidity makes us hold onto to every pound.

    wannabe- You can do it!

Jill- I bet it won't get too cold here until Mid-late October, it will probably be a little chilly then. I love fall!! Great website! You really have done terrific.

Gina- Love the new pic! That makes sense about cutting your workouts down. With burning all the extra calories you really would get much hungrier. That V-Rod is HOT!

Not much going on here. I lost 1 pound this week. It's going slow, but at least in the right direction. I'm used to the quick weight loss schemes, so I have to remember to pace myself. I've been increasing my exercise too. I really want to walk a 5k in September for the Komen Race for the Cure, so I really want to be ready by then.

    Have a great one ladies!
  • Hey Chickies!

Reb....CONGRATS! One pound is a pound in the RIGHT direction!....so YAY YOU!

I, on the other hand did not lose, but I DID dust off my Gazelle and free it from it's bondage of clothes. HH even hopped on it this morning and put new batts in the clock thingy. Guess I'd better go try to do even 15 minutes, see if I can get some inspiration.

We leave a week from tomorrow (on Sept.6) to go visit our friends in upstate NY. Canandaigua to be exact. From there we'll travel to Lake Placid and Niagara Falls. Should be a fun 10 days, since neither of us has ever visited those areas. We have a bike rented too!! Hope that works out. Guess I don't have to tell you that this trip will TOTALLY undermine anything good I've done in the past 2 weeks!!!!!

This Saturday we're riding to one of our favorite spots, St. Augustine...Just for the day to see a girl I went to high school with. Yes, she was one of my ****-raising buds, so can't wait to see her again. Haven't see her since 1969! OMG....most of you weren't even born yet! Anyway, should be a fun ride and we always love St. Auggie.

That's about it from here....the HEAT is incredible this summer.....heat index of 104 and above every day SUCKS. But.....the good news (for me) is that WNTER is coming and I'll be basking in temps in the 70's once again. See....it's reversed here; we stay inside most of the summer and OUTside most of the winter!

    Keep On Keepin' On, Chickie-Luvs!
  • WOW! Quiet around here!

Just a note to let ya'll know that we're flying to up-state NY tomorrow! Canandaigua, to be exact. Be back on the 18th. Yes...we're riding the whole 10 days and we can't wait! We have never been to that part of country and just know it's gorgeous there. Isn't it cool that we have a bike to ride the whole time we're there?! We're riding from Canandaigua to Lake Placid on Friday...that's the only trip I know about....but I know there will be many.

More later...hope you all are well and that you each had a fabulous Labor Day Weekend.
  • Just a quick check in here. We will be leaving tomorrow for Tellico Plains, TN. We are going out to join my hubby's fj group for their fall rally and to ride the Dragon. We are actually camping at the KOA camp ground there. MMm, me camping this should prove very interesting. We will be back on the 17th with lots of pictures and I will post for all to see. I am so excited. I can't wait to go.

    Talk to everyone soon.

Oh and I will also only be on sporadically as the kids sport seasons are now in full swing. But I will at least be lurking if I'm not posting. Take care everyone

    Kayla
  • Hi everyone! Hope you don't mind if I join in the fray! I'm in desperate need of some support so thought who better than fellow motorcyclists!

A little about me: I am 34, married with a a 4 yr old son. I got to my heaviest of 250 about 2 years ago. About a year and a half ago I started doing WW from home, and using a non-official WW forum similar in set-up to this one for support. It was fabulous. After losing 70 lbs and getting near goal, I started to slack off and as a result gained back a good 30 lbs. Now I am at the point where I realize I don't want to back-pedal any further, but I would really like to try just eating healthy foods, not doing points and/or writing things down all the time. Trying to step away from the scale and go by how clothes fit, not numbers. WW of course has already taught me a lot about what the good foods are, so we'll see what happens. I have been rather un-healthy in a number of ways lately, not enough sleep/exercise etc....so I'm really trying to make a change for the better. I can't go back on the WW forum because it is a boot camp style forum, if you're not OP then you're not really welcome there, which is totally cool. I found this place and am hoping I can get the help I need, while doing things my own way.

As far as the motorcycling side of me...I started riding in March of '06, after the MSF course, on an '82 Yamaha Vision. In late Sept of '06 I got a 2001 BMW R1200C. Love it!! I've put 12,000 miles on her in just shy of a year...not bad I think for a perosn with a full-time job, a youngin' at home and another major hobby (horseback riding, yeah I have two of those too LOL) Been to the Dragon a couple of times, yada yada. I am also a member of the Space Coast Chapter of Women in the Wind, an all women's motorcycle riding club.

So that's me! I look forward to getting to know you guys and talk diets and bikes!

    Patti

1st Challenge: Plan on hitting a bike night tonight to commemorate 9/11....problem? It's held in the parking lot of a McDonalds!
  • Hi Patti!! Congrats on the 40 pounds you have kept off!! You'll get back to where you want to be...the pants'o'meter method is tried and true!! As long as you don't use sweat pants to measure with .

OK so I went out to google to see what your bike looks like..if this is it - it's purty!!!

I don't think I've ever seen a BMW Cruiser before...I almost always see sport bike - and I'm not such a fan of that look.

I also love your screen name - too

Jill will be excited to see another FL chick when she gets back!

Kayla - hope you are enjoying TN!!

Andrea - when's your 5K? Go for it, girl- you can do it! Our Komen walk is in October...I need to get cracking on getting people to sponsor me.

Hi Kim! The TN Rally sounds like fun! We are headed to Reno Street Vibrations next weekend...in theory I should be able to test drive a vrod...it would be pretty funny if I don't like it.

Holly - hopefully the scale has been kinder in later weigh ins...I find that I weigh more after a workout - something about the muscles retaining water to restore themselves.
  • LIVE from Canandaigua, New York!
    Hey Chicks!

Just a quick check-in from NEW YORK! OMG...this is the most b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l riding on the planet if you ask me! We have ridden 1300 miles in the week we've been here...all over the northern part of the state, from Niagara Falls to the Adirondacks to the Vermont border. We are riding-crazy!
Quiet Day tomorrow...then another day of riding on Sunday, up toward Lake Ontario...then home to Florida on Monday evening. LOVE THIS PLACE! I have taken about 1000 pics.

ps....I am at an all-time FAT....now looking like one of those awful greeting cards that I hate. HELP ME STOP EATING WHEN I GET HOME!!!!!!!!!
  • Hey Patti...WELCOME! We live in Eustis...where do you guys live?

    Coooool Bike, Girl!
  • Hey Everyone, we are back!!!!

Welcome aboard Chromepony. These women are great as I have found.

Now about the trip. The drive out to TN from OK was uneventfull until about 30 minutes from our destination. Then we had a woman hit the trailer we were hauling. She knocked over both bikes, bent the wheel on the trailer. Luckily we were able to pull one off and finish the trip with just the other 3 wheels. Anyway while we were stopped one of the other guys that was at the rally saw the FJ on the trailer and he stopped stayed with us while all the accident information was filed with the highway patrol and helped us get back to camp. My bike was unrideable as the throttle cable was busted, the tank is also dented and scrated, my horn broken and something with the brake light switch, and the front brake lever bent. Hubby's was rideable after the rear brake peg was fixed. So we put about 600 miles on his bike. We did just a small portion of the dragon and decided that with us being two up and the hot and heavy cop presence it was just too much. Of course the rest of the group pretty much decided this too. Other then that the trip was absolutely awesome. The sights were beautiful and the guys from the dh's FJ group were great. Everyone was really friendly and helpful with everyone else.

I have to cut this short now since my daughter is calling sick from school and she doesn't sound good at all.
