Happy Saturday everyone!
Buzy day shopping with the family, we ate out but I chose a healthy stirfry and share it with my kids as oppose to getting them their own meals so it worked out good I think. Stayed within my points again (with a few flex). The ww routine is really sinking in and i'm getting satisfied with portions and healthier choices. This is much faster than the other times I tried ww so I think I was really ready this time and it is for good!! Dh is also slowly jumping on the band wagon, though he is not counting portions or anything but I see he is making an effort to eat better. I'm happy since apart from the fact that he needs to lose some weight too, it shall make it easier for me. :lol: Tess! I just wish I had nice curly hair like that! Deanne: Welcome to this group! Looking forward to getting to know you!j Lisa: Don't worry you will get it off again! We're in this for that long run! Paige: Way to go on sticking to your eating plan! :cp: Glad you like your new hair cut (and your dh too)! I really love mine, I already feel better about myself! Hello I am Colleen, 22 and live in London. From central pennsylvania although moved here about five years ago. Thats when my weight ballooned. I was about 215 back then and some how I ended up 280lbs. I was dating the take out and cheesecake king, we sort of both ate ourselves unhappy and grew bigger and bigger. Last July I decided to diet. I put myself on a steamed veggie and fruit diet that lasted about three weeks, lost loads in that time but at the end of the day I was starving myself. I decided that I was going to try weight watchers. Not only the program but get my shy bottom down to the closest meeting and sign up. I did and the pounds melted off. I hit 200 in October and was so excited. I moved to Sweden for a small work project and started to eat again, everything in site. Christmass turned into a month of stuffing my face. Back in London I crawled back to my meetings and found out that I gained 9lbs. Was a bit upset but pushed myself and on Valentines I lost the gain. Now I am 196.5lbs and looking to get under 190 soon. Monday I start the ww british No Count system, I am off to spend the weekend with my new guy and hopefully the flexablity of not counting points will get me through these little getaways.

Is there room for one more here??!! I´m Verity, 26, and live in Spain. I lost some weight last year but have been going up and down ever since (typical yo-yo dieter I´m afraid!) but I´m back on the bandwagon now and feeling really motivated. I´m not doing any specific diet but I´m just trying to be sensible with what I eat, and how much. I really want to loose this weight slowly and surely. In the past, I´ve managed to shift weight quickly but it always returns, with interest. This time I´m interested in making lifelong changes. I´m not going to be anally retentive about things this time...if I want a bit of cake or chocolate, I´m going to have it...as I want to look at this weight loss in the long term, not just from week to week weigh-ins. I´m hoping that this tactic might work lol!! Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all better! |

I didn't logged on friday night, cause i got home late, and i was feeling bit sad :sorry: . One of my teachers gave the results of her test and I did an awful job, she said that maybe i need some more concentration :blah: , maybe she's right, maybe i need more concentration, maybe i'm triyng too hard to get a good grade. So when the class finished I went to get domething to with with my bf and i had a tripple chocolate chip muffin, and then got a double cheese burger, fries and a coke at BK...there goes some willpower...TO GET FAT!!!! :rofl: Yesterday i didn't eat that much cause i didn't felt hungry ( no wonder after that load up on friday night, who would feel hungry??? :lol: ).Got my water thing going on thanks of the sudden heat wave that has strike the island :D . Lots of water for me in days to come, yeah!!! :D Well, since it' sunday i'm not going to the gym, i think its open today but im not going anyways. Tomorrow will be a great day, i'll go to the gym, do my cardio and tonning exercices, drink my water and eat healthy!!! :strong: Oh!, I almost forgot!!, CONGRATS TO MICHELLE ON HER LOST!!!! :bravo: , wish I were you!!!, Keep on the good work!!! Thanks for the challenge i am soexcited about it. This is reeally going to be a fun week, i went to the grocery store earlier today and picked up the groceries for the week. I spent less for the week then what i had been spending just doing it day to day. I bought all of my weight watchers meals and some cantaloupe to help get me through the snacking phase. also i bought some bannannas. I am just really psyched about all of this stuff. I got my haircut in a new way and my husband told me that i looked butch. which really made me laugh. He is always trying to make me laugh. But later on he told me it looked really nice and that i looked very pretty which for him to say is a miracle. My 15 yr old told me i looked really cool and she couldn't get over how short it was but i love it . Now i just have to color it again, i am in the constant battle against age and grey hair. Me and mrs. Clairol are the best of friends.lol So far today has been the best day in a long time. Joanna i am sorry to hear about your test as well, f it makes you feel any better. i had a psychology test last tuesday and i passed but still had to listen th the teacher because i didn't do as well as expected. School is hard but you can do it!!!!! Just have faith. |

The weekend for me has been very good I have stuck to my points all weekend. I have been taking soup to work every night, I found this recipe in a weight watchers magazine it adds up to just over 4.5 points. I seem to be eating an awful lot of bread this week prob because I didnt eat it last week. how many serves of carbs (I mainly eat bread) do you eat a day? I have already been exercising 3o min per day so for week two's challange I will do 40 min per day. Have a good day everyone. Creamy chic noodle soup points ingredients 2 1 tab oil 0 1 onion 0 1l water 2 2 tab corn flour 0 2 tab maggi chic stock powder 4.5 375ml can light evap milk 5 1/2 cup maccaronni 4 300g chicken fillets veges: 0 celery 0 broc 0 peas 0 carrot 1 corn 0 cauli 0 salt and pepper 18.5 points 4.5 points per serve makes 4 serves cook onion, add water cornflour, stock powder and evap milk bring to boil 5 min stirring. add maccaroni, simmer 5min stirring add vege and chicken, simmer 5 min stirring. |
I'm a complete carb-aholic. I usually get at least half if not more of my diet from carbs- mainly because I don't really like eating meat, and my husband doesn't like eating vegetarian so pasta and enchiladas tend to be a compromise we can both live with. Although, to be honest, even when I just cooked for myself, I tended to live on pasta and rice :lol:

Sorry it has taken me a week or more to come back, I have been working non-stop and by the time I get home, I go to sleep. I am a real estate agent here in Boston doing rentals right now in the busy season and it is crazy!!!! :dizzy: But I have continued to watch, my working out this week was only going up and down stairs to show places, so that is bad! :mad: I have been staying at my current weight this week because I have added some carbs, and of course gotten hooked to only eating those. I have to remember that I am not just doing this for looks but most important for my health, or I go blind. I haven't eaten anything bad at all just added some portions, and some fat free roll ups, but that has stuck me at 177.5 for the week. Anyone have any advice on how to get back to eating fruit and nutritiously and getting rid of these carbs enough that I can start losing weight! Plus my stress level is sky high so that doesn't help when you are trying to lose weight. Other than that, I had a great work week, very successful! I have been SO sick!! I was out of work all last week!! I'll need to go through and read the posts to see what's been going on. I got sick on Sunday night and had to go to the doctor on Wednesday morning. I had full-blown bronchitis and an ear infection at that point. I was very sick. I'm feeling much better now but still have a tremendous cough! I hope to start watching my dieting again in a day or so. and I hope to try to jog tonight. (the antibiotic they put me on has to be taken with food so I've just been eating and not really watching what I've been eating) That can happen though when you're so sick. -I was running a fever of 102 degrees with 1 1/2 doses of motrin in me! I will let you all know what happens in the next day or so!!

I am now back to 249.I don't know why my weight is doing this.up and down up and down.i am starting to get really angry with it. I am watching what i eat,i didn't exercise last night unless cleaning the whole house and doing about 5 hours worth of laundry counts.My mom said i need to just deal with the fact that i have a weight problem and that i am going to be battling this problem the rest of my life.My grandma died from having a heart attack and emphesyma. i quite smoking thank god before i got emphesyma and now i am really trying to get the heart problem under control without much luck. i think i would rather have to quit smoking everyday. ok well enough with the pity party, i gotta go and drink some more water later guys. thanks |
According to my scales I´m down to 101.5kgs (223.3lbs) although my slimming class has be at a higher weight! I think I´ll stick with my version!!
I´ve been feeling really down today and can´t seem to shake myself out of it. It´s my TOTM, which could explain it. Also, the weather here in Spain isn´t great - cold, drizzly rain, etc - which may also be a factor! Anyway, I´m off for an early night and maybe I can wake up tomorrow raring to go!!! BRAVO!! I'm just beginning to realize that I am still pretty sick. I'm achy and I hurt a little just sitting at my desk. My neck is very stiff and my voice still whispery at times! But I am still going to try to get at least 10 minutes jogging in tonight. That is my goal. And I will weigh myself. I haven't stepped on the scales since I've been sick. ~With a group like this, I can't stay wayward for very long!!! Just trying to get my motivation going again. ACK!! I just bothered to look up the nutrition content on the wonderful sandwich I had for lunch (a bacon cheddar ranch tendercrisp sandwich from burger king)!! I had an 800 calorie sandwich for lunch!! Thank goodness that's all I've had today besides diet soda!!! Don't you hate it when you think that one sandwich shouldn't be too bad - only to find out you just ingested 800 calories!!?? I'll try to do better for dinner!

Stephanie I hope you are feeling better. LIsa, stick with it, the weight has to co-operate soon. Are you still following e-diets? What plan are you using? I believe we all can be thinner with the right healthy eating, we just have to find out what that is for our own body.
I went and bought a areobic step yesterday and used it for 30min last night, I am very pleased with it. I did it while watching desperate housewives, I work nights tonight so I will go for a 30min walk tonight then maybe swimming when I wake up tommorow. My next goal is to buy a bike when I am 90kg I saw the bike at the store today it is new but it looks like a big old 60's bike they had it in red, I hope it comes in other colours maybe green. I would love cruising around on it. Today is the first day of Autumn, this morning was cooler. I am looking forward to winter this year because I wasnt here for the last one, I might buy a secondhand areofit for winter to keep up the exercise they are cheap 2ndhand. I feel i have to exercise at least 30min everyday or else I wont ever exercise it will always be tommorow. When I am fitter I will vary it more. I am keeping within my points even with a little choc. |

I have been over weight all my life and have tried all the diets under the sun and finally I have decided to try a new direction. Well, I definitely chose the wrong challenge to start this week! For some reason, I am completely nauseous today, and every time I've started to work out, I've had to stop to get sick. After the fourth try, I just gave up on it.

I hope everyone has had a great day! I just wanted to get on quickly to catch up on what has been going on. My hubby has to work on the computer tonight so I had to beg to get on for a few minutes. Today has been a good day. A teacher at work that is doing WW with me had a birthday today so we had anglefood cake with fresh strawberries and it was a really good alternative to a "cake". With 22 of us doing this at work the food police are everywhere!!!!! I actually think there are some people feeling a little left out because no matter whose lunch time it is someone is talking about WW and points!!!

glad to see I am not the only one who is rushing to the bathroom. I also tend to drink more at night. I am not quite sure why. I also seem to get alot in the morning. I try to drink a 16.9oz bottle before I have any caffeine. Motivation!

I had a day off from work today so I decided to go cross-country skiing which I hadn't done yet this year. I did 5 km! :sunny: I was also my hockey night and I played two games! So i've finally started exercising more. It feels good and I have to keep at it. How is everyone else doing with the exercise challenge? Still staying within my points with a few flex and drinking my goal of 32oz water a day. Aussiegirl: Welcome to this group!! It's a great place to lose weight and find support! Looks like you are already doing well! Lisa: Don't give up!! It will show up eventually!! I'm sure it makes it so much harder to keep at it, but it would could only be worst if you stopped ! Yay! I´m very excited!! I´ve just done the first session (day 1 of week 1) of my 0 to 5k 10 week programme!! I´ve really been procrastinating with excercise and, yesterday I was feeling really down, and I just decided enough was enough! I dusted off the book I started using last year and promised myself I´d start today! The hardest bit of excercisiig is the first time (for me at least). ANyway, I´ve done it (it was AWFUL ha ha!!) and now I feel GREAT!!
I´ve been wanting an ipod, or something similar, for a long time and I´ve decided to use it as a reward...if I faithfully stick to the 10 week programme then I´m going to treat myself to one!! It´s an expensive treat but, after 10 weeks, I think I´d deserve it!! Anyway, I hope everone else has been having a great Tuesday! Everyone is doing so well! I'm still so proud of all of us. Just remember, even if you only lose one pound a week (which is really excellent) - that's one pound less! And after a year, that's 52 pounds less. The year will pass regardless of whether the weight is lost. I just remind myself of this and think of how many years passed that I didn't do anything about my weight!
I said that I would let you all know how last night went. I didn't get any exercise in. I was still just too tired from being sick. I did weigh myself though. The last time I weighed on 2/18/05, I weighed 227.5 lbs. This morning, I weigh 226 lbs.!!!! Yippee! Down 1.5 lbs. I was so happy to see this! I was so sick that I really couldn't even tell you what all I ate. I'm just so thrilled to know that I didn't go backwards during that time!! Smiling now! Stephanie 234/226/125 SW/CW/GW |
Ann-Cross-country skiing and hockey games!!?? That is so awesome!! It sounds like lots of fun! Exercise just doesn't seem like work when you're having that much fun, does it? I hope I can find that again soon! I'm still having to make myself get up to jog!! And I love it so!!
Verity - Are you going to do a 5K? I'm trying to prepare myself for one on April 9th! If you've never done one, they are wonderful and very empowering! Good luck with your training. And just hang in there. It will feel difficult sometimes but it is so worth it!! Stephanie |
hey guys. Well i can't talk long on my way out the door to class. But i can say this much i got my 30min of exercise in and all of my water, so i am very pleased with that.No pounds lost but hey i think i am checking the scales to much.i go over there everytime i go to the fridge, the scales are right next to it.i think i might move them. i ate pretty good last night too and got in some fruits and veggies.anyway i gotta go and sit in a really boring psychology class.Oh the things we go through to be a nurse!!!!lol but it will be worth it in the end. Later guys i'll get on again when i get back from class.

Stressed!
Ok. I've been trying not to let this bother me. But the reality of it has sunk in today. My job started out as temp-to-hire, but then the firm decided to merge with another firm. Needless to say - they won't be needing two receptionists. I've known for about a month or so that this job wasn't going to go permanent for me. I've applied for jobs and had interviews but no offers yet. I have this job through March 11th (unless they tell me to get out sooner). That means, not including the rest of today, I have only 8 guaranteed workdays left! ACK!! Yuck!! I am stressed now!
I've been doing so well. Having faith in God that he knows what's best and will provide that on his schedule. But today, I'm not doing as well. Today I'm concerned. I want to know that I have a job somewhere. I could draw unemployment for a little while if I had to. But that's still not a job. (plus I wouldn't get as much as if I was working) And I want to work. So sorry! I just desperately needed to get this off my chest. I'm trying like you know what NOT to just go and eat every darn cheesecake I can get my hands on!!! Thanks for listening! Stephanie |

I finally got to use the cute weight loss avatar. I was a little upset when it was just 1.....but I know I did not work as hard as I could so lesson learned!!!! Work harder and I will reach my goal faster. Keeping my head up because one pound is one pound. I am not gonna complain about lossing anything. Sometimes more sometimes less.....RIGHT!!!! Hello to all the newbies, I am a stay at home, divorced mom of 4 in Florida. I became a real estate investor somehow by accident! I am currently rehabbing one home and building two others. SO I am pretty busy at getting stressed out, and it makes for eating out alot or quick fattening meals. I just need the willpower to EAT less at night and better during the day. We can all relate right! I am on xenical as well, started friday 2-25, so i think it is helping me jump start. We can do it anyway we can right! |

Well, I didn't exactly eat everything in sight yesterday evening. I went and got my hair trimmed instead. Thank goodness I thought of something else that needed to be done. I still ate more than I should have, but not nearly so much as I would have if I hadn't gotten my hair done.
My daughter is still with my mother this week. I don't think I've mentioned her yet. She's 8 years old. Her school had a winter break on Friday and Monday (25th and 28th) so she went to my mother's for a long weekend. And now she's snowed in there!! Which is just fine. Her school was closed yesterday and today for the weather also. And it's been kind of nice to have a break. The house has been soo quiet! I'm handling the bit about my job a little better this morning. My boyfriend lives with me (since Nov 2004) and he helps with the bills. So, financially, everything should be fine. I guess I'm just getting myself worked up really for nothing. And if I have to go on unemployment for a while, my house certainly could use some work. I could use that time to spring clean and organize things better. And go to the gym. Wait a minute here. Did I say I would rather work? What was I thinking??!! :lol: Thanks so much for listening!
