Thanks for the warm welcome you guys, I feel right at home!
joana - your English is perfectly fine, you're awesome! fatmommyinPA - according to my calculations you have consumed 22.5 points for the day and at your weight you would most likely be allowed 25 points (but I could be off by a point or two) so you are eating in your allowable point range by WW standards! I detoured to McDonald's today on my home from the hospital (my aunt had a stroke, which has been my catalyst to start getting the weight off fyi) and I feel terrible about it even tho I stayed within my point range for the day!!! I know the fat I consumed in that small meal was more than I needed for the entire day. Still, I feel good that I didn't break down and order a Large Quarter Pounder combo or some other such nonsense and I am also proud that I ate that small meal and didn't convince myself that the show was over and binge this evening...hopefully tomorrow I will make myself even prouder! |
Happy Birthday Erin! :gift:
Good luck on the scales today for everyone who has a weigh in. :goodscale |
WillPower
Your willpower is much stronger than you think. But all too often, most of it is being used to maintain your own ego, which gets you nowhere.
You use the energy of your willpower to prove you are right, yet that brings nothing of value. You use your willpower to defend and justify what you already know rather than learning something new. Your willpower is always pointed in precisely the direction you have decided to point it. Take a good look around and you'll see what that direction has been, you'll see where your willpower has brought you so far. Then make the decision to apply the considerable power of your will to the things that truly matter. Instead of wasting your willpower on frustration, anger and envy, put it to use creating value, achievement and real joy. Your willpower can take you quickly and effectively to wherever you decide to go. Keep it pointed in a positive direction!! |
I'm not sure if I told my story or not so here it goes. My name is Julie and i'm 33 from Texas. I was on South Beach for about 4 months and lost 20 pounds and switched to Weight Watchers in September. My highest was 242 and now I'm at 210. My goal weight is about 170. My height is 5'10". I feel like I've hit a plateau but working on it. I am starving this morning. :( I have a REAL sweet tooth. I'm craving those white powdered donuts in the snack machine. Anyone have any ideas on how to satisfy a sweet tooth without spending all my points. I had a bowl of Low Carb Special k and Skim Milk. Hope everyone has a good day.

Day Six!
:coffee:
Hey everybody! Can you believe I made it to Day Six of my new healthier lifestyle? I normally crack on Day 3, you know when the sugar cravings really kick in! Today, I am going to make a start on doing some exercise. I promised my buddy 10 minutes on the treadmill, it has been so long since I have done any kind of excercise, so wish me luck! GiddyupKaos - you are SO right, honey, no Mickey D's today!!! Happy Birthday Erin! |
ok i have finally managed to get my day going. i went into the chat room last night not very many people in there. but i met a couple of nice ladies. One of them was telling me about weight watchers, it suonded so much better then e-diets. e-diets is really to hard to understand sometimes and there is no support group without paying extra. i am at the same weight as i was on sat, no more weight gone i am worried this is not going so good. Help!!!!!! I am losing my confidence, and if i don't lose this weight i am just gonna lose my mind, anyway having a bad day help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to eat low fat or else I will be sitting on the toilet all day/night. I am trying to only eat low fat or no fat, so hopefully this will help me along. I know diet drugs are not for everybody, but since I am a stay at home mom, maybe I can do this and not worry about embarrassing accidents out of the home. I have not been drinking my water or on the elliptical yesterday or today, so I will go do that now.

Hello girls. I have not had time to check in today. Just now getting a break at work. I really need to get the internet at home so I can check in more often.
I had a bad food day yesterday but that is ok......I will get back on track and pray it does not show up on the scales. I did get 80oz of water in yesterday and good exercise too. That made me feel better. Erin............ Happy Birthday!!!! Welcome Jeanessa and Lisa......if support and motivation is what you seek you have come to the right place. These ladies are WONDERFUL!!!! Jeanessa........good luck with the exercising and good job on making it to day 6!!! I think the first week is the worst. Lisa.........I must agree with Michelle, you are being to hard on yourself. Hang in there. You said no more weight gone but look at it as no weight GAINED!!! It has taken me a few years to gain this weight and it could take that time to lose. Ann..........Good Luck with the weight-in tonight. Good vibes being sent your way!!! Joana..........Your english is fine. I have not had any problems reading it. Don't worry about it. Good Job on dinner last night. Not sure I would have had that kind of willpower at Outback!!! Your on your way!!! Christina.........Woo hoo!!!! 1 1/2lbs is 1 1/2lbs. Keep up the good work that you are doing. You will be to your goal in due time. Well ladies I must go for now. I will try to check in before I leave for the day. I hope you all have a wonderful evening. |
Thank you to everyone for your birthday wishes!!! Today is my 24th... 24 on the 24th! I'm not fond of getting older, but oh well.
Anyway, I'd been doing well all week, but then today came... it's my birthday and I'm being baaaaad. I had a donut for breakfast since my boss brought them in (I couldn't refuse something he bought in my honor) and I'm going out with some friends for dinner tonight. Then, this weekend, I'm going to see my family who will also be taking me out for meals. I won't be able to go to the gym, but I'm going to try to go running or at least walking while I'm out of town. I'm hoping a few days semi-off the wagon won't have too much impact. I'm kind of on a plateau right now anyway, and I've heard that a few days of higher calories can actually jump start your metabolism again. Let's hope that's true! |
Animal Crackers are my new best friend!!!
Why is it that when you are trying to be healthy, you start to crave each and every little thing that ever went in your mouth? Today, I craved an egg mcmuffin (which I, as a general rule, loathe because of the egg-like eggy substance) and a taco salad and chocolate. It's like..."You can't have me, I know you want me!"
michellejy - you have a great way of looking at things! I am with you. I refuse to live and die by the scale, yes, I want the numbers down but sometimes your body naturallcy fluctuates up and down a few pounds because of water, salt, your TOM, etc. You could weigh yourself three different times during the day and get three different weights! I think that we put too much stock into what the scale says emotionally and sometimes that can sabotage us. We're all new newbies, so half of the battle is figuring out how to stay on plan and keep going regardless of external factors. I try to think like this: A week ago, I was pigging out on whatever I wanted whenever I wanted it and now I am in control. I'm taking the steps I need to take for better health and I am going to see changes no matter what the scale says right at this moment. Anyway, I'm done preaching! pinkpolopony - sometimes you have to shake things up a little to get your body on track...besides, you only turn 24 once and its your Golden Birthday (24 for 24). You deserve to have fun! You can do the excercise this weekend and make the best choices you can about food and get back on track on Monday! Be good for the rest of the day, y'all! |
hey guys feeling a little better since the pep talk.thanks!!!!!! i now have about50 oz of my water drank today.i just got off line with my brother in law and he always makes me feel better.i am going to be bad tommorrow because it is my birthday and i am going to be 32 so i feel in need of a sin.but i promise i will be right back on the d word as of sat morn.i am gonna go and do my bike exercises now, maybe i will treat my self to an ab machine for my birthday. anyway later ladies thanks for the pep talk.

The big "WI"
Happy birthday Erin!! :hb: Oh, to be 24 again...actually I would settle for 34 at this point. Anyway I hope it has been a great day for you!!!!
Today was WI and I was down 1.6lbs. I shouldn't be disappointed but I am. I should be happy that every week I have lost something...I haven't had any gains which is very good!! I just thought I would loose more then 8 lbs in a month. I can tell a difference in the way my slacks feel so I know the treadmill is helping. I just wish the scale was being a little more friendly! Everyone laughed when I came out of my office wearing shorts and a t-shirt for weigh in, but according to my scales this morning my clothes weighed in at a hefty 3 lbs. Every little bit helps is my motto on weigh in day!!!!!! My goal this week is to stay off that damn scale until next Thursday!! I swear it is like crack(I would imagine) you just have to have a quick fix!!! I roll out of bed in the morning and the next thing I know I'm standing on that blasted thing!!!!! It drives me insane. :fr: :fr: :fr: :fr: I also think I am going to cut back the treadmill to 3 nights a week instead of 5 and see if that helps the scale move alittle. I know what they say about "muscle" but right now I just want to do some major damage on that scale. I'll worry about the muscle later. I had really thought I could lose 20 lbs before my birthday...but not at this rate. I hope you all have a great Friday! The weekend is just around the corner! YEAH!!!!! Talk to you all tomorrow. Paige :balloons: |

Yeah!
Hi everyone!
:D :goodscale Tonight was my first ww weight in and I'm happy: 4 pounds loss ( I know a lot of it is water weight but I'll take anything to start with)! I didn't think I was going to lose much because I didn't exercise as much as I wanted so I'm thrilled! Today is also the first day that I'm able to stay withing the basic points without having to use the flex points. I'm banking them for the week-end : ) Joana: Way to go on the exam and such a healthy choice afterwards!! Don't worry about your english, you write very well :) English is my second language too, french is my mother tongue. Julie: When I want to satisfied my sweet tooth at work, I drink 1% chocolate milk. I figure it's a few points but I'm also getting my milk in. There is also a few brand of low fat cookies that you can get to help you too. Jeanessa: If it fits within your points than all is well!! Once in a while you have to treat yourself to something you like/crave if not you may want to gave up the whole thing!! My kids love McDonalds and once in a while I will still treat them to it and I will plan it accordingly and just make sure I have enough points! You were sensible and choose something small so congratulate yourself!! Hang in there girlfriend, the beggining is the hardest than it becomes so much easier. I would plan to include some of your cravings or a lighter version of them, if you cut them off completly, they just might get worst. Erin: Happy birthday!! :gift: Enjoy your parties and maybe eat everything you want but just in smaller portions than you would have in the past, that way you might not fall off too far from the wagon so it will be easier to climb back in after the week-end ;) Christina (FMinPA): Way to go on the weight loss!! You are going in the right direction and making wonderful efforts! Keep at it! You day menu looks good to me (I won't add it up since Jeanessa did it already)! Lisa: Unfortunatly, it takes a while to get the weight off, the average is 1 to 2 pounds a week. Some week you lose more, some week you will lose less. So all you can do is stay with it!! Don't give up, there is no way to regret losing weight in the long run however slow it is or how long it takes, but if you quit I'm pretty sure that is something you will regret. It's hard but so worth it!! Christine: hang in there! you can't always trust a scale it's not always precise and varies from time to time for so many reasons, other than actual weight loss or weight gain. The best daily measurement of your success is if you achieved you eating/exercising/water goals, in the longer run that will show on your scale, but even more important in your clothes! Don't give up! Jme: Way to go on your water! Right back on track is the right idea! Hope you day went well!! Paige: Yeah on your weight loss! :D You are getting closer to your goal a step at a time! You are going in the right direction and will make it there! Michelle: Thanks for maintaining our list!! Sara & Selena: How are you doing? :goodvibes Hope all is well with the two of you! |
The scale isn't my friend either!!!
Thank God It's FRIDAY!!!!
How are doing my friendly newbies today???!!!! Happy day to the b-day girls Erin & Lisa!!! (by the time you ppl read this would be friday), get mad with desserts you deserve it :hb: Selens, i loved that thing you posted about willpower, definetly true, if we dont use our willpower to get the positive things (like erm...loosing this fat belly),then for what are we gonna use it???? :chin: Paige: I think your scale it's playing dirty games on you, like the one in the gym it's playing tricks on me too!!!, let me tell you that every monday I step into the damn thing and see the before week results, but today i felt tempted and i steped on that :censored: thing and gave me back a hole pound as a result!!!, it's like that thing was telling me TODAY YOU DONT STEP ON ME!! :nono: GET OFF!!! :D So im thinking on keeping my weekly step into the scale thing, so i can live sanely  Anyways congrats on you lost, it's better than gaining, aint that right??? Jeanessa congrats on you 6 day of no Mickey D's! :mcd:  and I know what you mean what you're saying about tempting food, i have 2 weeks now without eating any sweets (CHOCOLATE, as they call it here in my house), and its been very hard, cause i had to gave up an Snicker last week, it was so depressing, as i watched a friend of mine's eating it, I kept thinking when i loose this belly I'll eat at least a half one!!! :smug: I drank 3 bottles and a few glasses of water, and went to the gym to realese some stress, 15 mins. on the stair master and 15 more on the elliptical. Did some weight lifting to tone my muscles, and now hopefully i'll get some sleep ( cause i'm ignoring the fact that i have to study for an exam). Well, have a good night sleep you all, dream about been slim and more beautiful than what we are right now! :grouphug: Take care. Love, J.- http://www.3fatchicks.com/weight-tra.../130 lbs./162/ |
detk1320 - congrats on your 4 pound loss this week. What a weigh :smug: to start! Keep blazing the trail for all of us!
joana - way to go on the workouts. I am not there yet, but maybe I will be soon. I did a good job today, stuck within my points, no fast food wanderings  and I am very happy with my progress... Everybody, stay encouraged and keep trying, if this were easy everybody would be a size 6 (I would say 2, but thats just too thin for me!) |
Woohoo! I got to update my avatar again today :D
Happy birthday, Lisa! |

A Wonderful Day 7!
michellejy - that 10 pounds looks good, girl, I can't wait until it is my turn!!! I'm looking forward to seeing that number go up and up and up!
My best friend and I are going to join a Curves-type place in the next month or two. It just seems as if it will be more comfortable. Can anybody tell me what Curves is like? I've seen the commercials, but you know TV and reality are two different things....unless you're watching 'reality tv' Yes, I'm having a good day! I am down 6.5 pounds on my 7th day! It has to be plenty of water because I have NOT been starving myself, I've stayed within my points and even ate some flex ones...and besides 10 minutes on the treadmill, the only exercise I've gotten this week has been the horizontal variety ;) but...maybe that helps? I'll check back in later! |
Michelle - Woo Hoo is right. You go girl. I am looking forward to hitting my 5 lbs lost so I can use that avatar. Hopefully when I weight-in Monday morning I will be there.
Lisa - HAPPY BIRTHDAY and ENJOY your day off!!! Ann- Great job on the 4lbs loss. Keep up the hard work. Paige - Also sending you Congrats with the weight loss. Now for me..........I did not do good at lunch. Today our office celebrated everyones birthdays for this month. We always do some big food day thing. Today they had Subway Party subs. That was not too bad but the chips and dip got me. I did not exercise last night or this morning. I have only had 30oz of water today. I guess I will have to load up on water at home tonight. I have to tell you all a funny story. ( i thought it was funny anyway ) My 5yr old boy overheard my dh and I talking last night about how my diet was going. (for those of you who don't know my dh works out of state and does not get to see me much these days.) Anyway he heard that I wanted to be skinny. He rips off his little shirt, sucks in his belly as far as he can and says "You want to have a six pack like me??" I lost it with laughter. He will do my workouts with me and will "show off" his progress to his dad when he comes home. His dad always teases him about having a lil 6 pack. Anyway I will check in tomorrow. I do not have internet at home but I have to work tomorrow for a while. Good luck to you all for the weekend. Good support and motivation vibes being sent out to you all. |
Happy Birthday Lisa!!
Weight watchers day 3 Well its sat am here I am doing really well - I think the scales of the universe have formed a group just to make me feel better. I didnt think my scales were working so I weighed myself on the ones at work hat I know I have used before I was 108 kg a few weeks ago on them, I was 109 at home then I went away on holidays for 5 days and put on another kg. and now I'm 105 kg on them Ive worked out my scales are consistant but they weigh 1kg heavier than the others. I also noticed that Ive been losing an awful lot due to that time of the month - there was alot of hormonal weight there. WW is going much easier I am eating so much but I did trade some healthy choices yesterday for some choc biscuits at work. I had to work an extra half shift yesterday but I managed to fit in 30 min workout on a step (from the o/t department) in front of the music channel in our staff room no one saw me :D I think I will buy a proper exercise step to use in breaks at work (no one will see me ) I am so glad you guys are here no waiting for weekly meetings. stay on track - Nothing tastes as good as being thin |
Hi everyone!
Happy birthday Lisa!! Sorry I missed that post! Jme: your son's sound just too cute! Jeannessa: Did I read correct: 6.5 pounds!! Wow! :bravo: :cheer: Maybe we should all add a little bit of mcD to our menues  Michelle: Way to go on the weight loss! 10 pounds so far that is wonderful! :goodscale Selena: You can do it! You will be strong and eat what is best for you!! Tess: Glad WW is working out for you so far! Keep at it! Joana: Keep up with all the exercising! That will sure make a difference! My day was ok, had to use up a few flex points. Tommorow, I get my hair cut and I'm going for change this time as oppose as always the same old thing. This is the new me who will knock everyone off their feet as oppose to hide in the corner :smug: Ann |

Good evening ladies!
It's Friday!!!    Lisa- Happy Birthday!!! :hat: Ann- I am right there with you on the haircut. I hope it turns out well. I am also getting my hair done tomorrow. I always say I'm going to do something different and then when I get home my husband says "I thought you were getting your hair cut today" so much for doing something different! Tess- It sounds like you are off to a great start. Keep it up! Jamie- Isn't it funny what our little ones will say. Jeanessa- Curves is a great and fast workout. You need to make sure that the hours they are open work for you. I joined a year ago and my membership will be up at the end of March. I won't be rejoining because the hours of operation are so limited where I live. Selena- Have a great time at your friends house and of course you CAN!! We know you CAN! Be strong and have a safe trip. Joana-Sounds like you are doing a great job keeping up with your exercise!! Keep it up. Michelle- Thanks for the list. Where do you find the time to keep up with all of us. Today was a pretty good day. I stayed within my points but I still have a little more water that I need to drink tonight. Tomorrow will be a busy day. I always have more trouble using my points on the weekend. I get so busy running around doing all my errands that I end up with a hugh amount of points at the end the day left. My goal for staying off the scale was shot by 5:30 this morning. I swear it is such a habit I don't even know what I am doing. I roll out of bed and walk to the scale still half asleep. Oh well.....I hope eveyone has had a good day. Paige :balloons: |
Yeah, even the McD's didn't stop the loss, I guess its not about quality but quantity when you come right down to it...calories in/calories out and the quality of what you eat depends on you and your health concerns...I want to be healthy AND thin so I'll have to work on it!
Is there a prescribed workout at Curves or do you just go in and do your own thing? I never thought I would say this, but I am having a tough time getting all my points in. A lifer told me to make sure to eat all my points and my flex points on the WW plan, and I agreed with her logic. So far, its helping me to loose faster. Make good choices this weekend, guys! |
Good morning Girls...How is everyone this morning?? Just a quick note....I am heading out of town this morning...but wanted to say HI  before I go...
I hope everyone is STRONG this weekened...I am going to be sooo good...I have weigh in on Monday...and Im glad I do my weigh-ins on Monday...it helps keep me focused on the weekends....I cant' mess up on the weekends and expect a loss on monday morning....;) Jeanessa...Curves is a place for ladies only...Mine has 10 machines...and 10 mats.. In between the 10 machines are 10 cardio mats....You do 30 seconds on each machine...then 30 seconds on each mat...After you've been on each machine for 30 seconds....and each mat for 30 seconds...you've done a 30 minute work out...it goes sooo fast......you can do ANYTHING for 30 seconds...it doesn't seem at first like you're even getting a workout...but believe me..........I feel it the next morning...You go 3 times a week..and then work up from there if you want to...It is fun and the music keeps me jogging or dancing on the mat for my cardio........they tell you when your 30 seconds are up..and then you just move on to the next machine...I love it! Hope that helps........ Take care everyone...I will be back.......... |

good afternoon everyone. well i did the deed and now the scale is showing it. i am back up to 249 i have gained it back. but i am not going to cry myself a river i am simply going to get up brush myself off and start all over again. I thought i would write before i went for a nice long walk.I did enjoy my birthday though it was really nice.I am a little depressed over the gain though, most of all i just really feel yuck, i can tell that i ate the wrong stuff last night and this morning. My little girl brought home a birthday cake for me that she had made all herself and it was chocolate which is like my kryptonite.so of course as the story goes i made a complete pig of myself.but it's gone now i invited people over so that they could finish it without hurting my little girls feelings. Now i must drink my water and eat my fruit and after this episode i don't think i ever want to see another chocolate cake. Thanks for listening.i will post again soon. :?:

Happy Saturday Everyone
I have to work today. Normally I am off on the weekends. I am thinking it is good I am working because it keeps me away from the fridge!!!! I am on my lunch now and I am enjoying a WONDERFUL salad and bottle of water. I have only had 20oz today on the water. I have to step it up a bit if I am gonna reach the goal.
I hope you all are having a great weekend. I can not check in again til Monday morning when I return to work. I also Weigh-in on Monday morning. I am keeping my fingers crossed because I have not worked out past 2 days. Wish me luck........I have a feeling I am gonna need it. |
Happy Day 8 - Week 2!
Hey, guys, just checking in.
I can't believe that I am actually on Week 2! Cross your fingers or pray for me that I keep up the strength. Its kind of weird, I am so used to wanting to lose weight that the fact that I actually am losing weight is odd! I normally look at the days that are passing by and I feel like..."Oh, time is moving so fast, I've gotta get up off my keister and lose this weight...I'll start soon." And now I feel like I can't wait for next week to come because that means that I'm even further into my healthier lifestyle and that I have lost that much more weight! Does anybody else feel like this? LisaGirard - I'm sorry that you're in the slumps today and that your weight went back up. I know the feeling. Just chalk it up as experience so that you can warn others and so that you'll know what to do the next time. Look at it this way, you're not dying for chocolate cake anymore and you're right back on track, which is hard enough all by itself! jmepudge - I am crossing my fingers for your Monday weigh-in, I hope that you have inspiring news for us all! I'm off to enjoy my Saturday :dizzy: |
The Party!
Ugh.............I hate it when I hit the wrong button and lose a post and have to start over. :comp:
Anyway, I hope you are all having a great Saturday! :flow2: I had a big mile stone today. I had to take my daughter to a birthday party and they had lots of badddddddddddddddddd food for the grown ups and I resisted all of it. Yes, even the chocolate covered strawberries!!! Instead of coming home ridden with quilt over what I ate I came home very proud of myself for passing my first big test since I started WW. :dancer: :dancer: I even caught myself judging what other people where eating (you know the people that should be sitting beside me at WW). I thought god is that what I look like when I have my plate full of junk!!! It made me all the more motivated to get this weight off!!!!!!! I also got my hair cut and colored today. I actually came home with a much shorter and sassier new style. My hubby even liked it. Usually he can't even tell I got it cut. I need to find some more recipes tonight so that I can cook the meals for the week tomorrow. :chef: I still need to go to the grocery store but I will probably wait until in the morning to go. It is cold and rainy out tonight. :rain: Hard to believe it was almost 80 degrees on Monday and Tuesday. Stay motivated ladies. Paige :balloons: |
well...... Another day is done almost. And i am proud of myself, i threw out the rest of my birthday cake and ate a weight watchers frozen meal for dinner with an apple. I am currently trying to get the water down(that's not very easy). I feel much better about the weight loss, i got it off once before and i can do it again. I have decided that i will eat cereal for breakfest something like special k and for lunch and dinner i will have weight watchers meals and some fruit or veggies, and if i exercise everynight i should get it off again.I am really psyched.Maybe if i quite eating the stuff i make for my family i will be okay.Anywho thanks for listening i will type again in the morning.tootles.
