  • Angie and Ann, Sorry I am a dip. I have been looking like a mad woman to find your posts so I could reply (I saw that Selina had posted to you) I would have felt bad if I missed someone. So I just broke the code and figured it out. Haa Haa I'm going to bed now because I OBVIOUSLY can't even read now. Take Care
  • Well Sara ....your husband had the KFC and mine had WENDYS ....lets forbid them to go to fast food restauraunts in our presence .......hahahahaha...yeah right !!!! We just gotta keep trying to overcome the need to eat ......Makes me feel better that I am not the only one who made a mistake ......I did the same thing with the cheeseburger ....10 minutes of ...to eat or not to eat that is the question ....lol.....
Anyway .....I have been eating tons of veggies ......I keep making this stuff with broccoli...green beans ..corn ...peas ...carrots ...and a little bit of pasta ..(more veggies than pasta )...and cook it all together with some garlic ,parsley, and a hint of romano cheese .....it is really good and fills me up ....I am gonna make a big batch of it today and put it in containers to freeze and take to work .......I figured I can have that on days the husband and kids eat badly as well ......small portion of that and a peice of chicken or turkey and thats a sensible dinner .........I find it hard to find healthy foods I like .........
Selena .....thanks so much for starting this thread it is wonderful to have somewhere to vent and discuss weight with people so much like myself .
Paige .....thats a great idea ....work to our goal so we can have a nice family pic that won't bring us to tears .....I need that as well.
Angie ......dont let friends like those bring you down ......I know how it feels .....they sit there right in front of you and comment about someone and you sit there and listen and then realize that some of the FAT people they are talking about are smaller than you .....then you wonder GEE what do they say about me ......I've been there so many times ........Thats why we can do this ......HERE ...TOGETHER .....We all know how it feels
Ann....I noticed our goal weight is the same .....Well 175 here we come ....we are both gonna get there
Marie , Michelle , Christy and Christine .........Gosh I hope I have covered everyone .....keep on posting ......I cant wait to get to know everyone better ....so we can all be here for each other ......I look forward to reading all the posts .........
By the way my name is Christina but with a Christine and Christy it may get confusing so I'll just keep FMinPA.........
  • I am having kinda of a hard time about it today. I dont know what it is about me and the weekends. My husband is outside doing yardwork and I am just hanging out indoors!

    OK

That just sounds pathetic! I am just gonna have to go out and help otherwise I will feel bad! PLus I need to work off the wonderful breakfast he made this morning.
  • Hey, all, what do you think of starting a new thread each day to post our progress and maybe have a mini-challenge each day (you know: drinking water, 30 minutes of cardio, no dessert, avoiding fast food, eating low-carb, etc.)?

I think it's great so many people are jumping in, but if this thread gets to be 15 pages long, it might intimidate any other newbies (or maybe I'm just lazy ). In one of the other groups I jumped into on here, the first post each day is an introduction of all of the people already in their group, and then from there, everyone just posts about their day, how they are doing, and that fun stuff. I'll see if I can come up with a list about the people who have posted so far, and maybe we can start a new post tomorrow monring. What do you all think?

  • Hi! Your group sounds like just what I need! I haven't been around for a while, so I am a "renew" if that is OK.
I am 46 yrs.old and would like to lose around 25 lbs. I lost some weight about 2 years ago, getting close but never reaching my goal; and I have put 10 lbs. back on.
I am going to start exercising more regularly, eat more fruits and vegies, drink more water, and avoid the late night munching. I realize that it took time to put the weight on, and that it will take time to take it off. Of course I would like to lose it like by next week...
Let's help each other stay on track!
    Peace, Jen
  • Christy, I'm sorry you are having not such a good day. The weekend seems to be hard for a lot of people. Its hard for me and I work it. How does that make sense? Anyway, I hope your day got better. Take Care

FMinPA, I have told DH he is not allowed to bring fast food into the house. He just doesn't seem to get it. You have a great idea having good stuff premade for you. I really need to do that for work.

Michelle, Hi! Its so nice to see you again. I hope you are having a great weekend. Thanks so much for making that list. Its wonderful. I am going to cut and paste it so I can refer to it when writing. Thank you.

Hi Jen! Welcome. we are all very new. think we started this Friday. 3 days and going strong. Yay!!! I know what you are saying about wanting to lose it next week. If there were an overnight fat pill I would probably be willing to pay a pretty penny for that!!!! But I guess I have to just tough it out. Grrrrr. Have a great night. It was nice to meet you. Take Care.

as far as the thread goes I was hoping we could keep just one place instead of restarting everyday. I think that might get to be more confusing. Thats how I lost my first group of buddies I think. It became too hard to keep up with the conversations when there was a new thread posted every day and people gave up. Lots of groups just post continuously on one thread and don't start new and they seem okay? Just my opinion though. Its up to all of you. whatever everyone else wants to do. I'm just so glad to have met such a great group of people who are so supportive. I hope we stick together because this is really helping me. However you all want to do it I'm sure it will work out.

Okay, I'm running late for work so gotta go. Take care and see you all here tomorrow.
  • Good evening everyone! Had a few minutes and thought I would see what you are up to. Where has the weekend gone???

Sara, I agree with you I have enough trouble keeping up with what I already have going. A new thread each day might make it just too much to keep up with. I'd really like to just keep it the way we have it.

Michelle, we could still do a challenge but just not post a new thread every day.

    What does everyone else think???

    Paige
  • I was going to say that either way is fine with me, and I like the challenge idea, but was hoping the challenges could be posted the night before, lol, cause I don't have time before work or at work to see what the challenges are. I don't get on computer for personal stuff until after the gym in the evening. Or maybe I could just be a day behind on the challenges (I already do 30 mins - 2 hrs at the gym every day except 1 day off, but lets see how long that sticks).

Oh and for those eating a cheeseburger or KFC occassionally, I wouldn't feel too guilty. I mean our habits weren't formed overnight and I don't think it realistic to not have an indulgence here and there, especially when you don't go over your points or calorie limits by an extreme amount.

Anyway good luck to us all,

    Marie
  • Hi everyone ........I kinda agree on keeping in one place cause I to am afraid we'll all get lost ........dont want that to happen.......I'm happy to have figured this site out enough to get to this support group everyday ........I am up for the challenges though and posting the night before sounds like a great idea so we all have a chance to get in on it ...........
  • Hi everyone!

Angie: Welcome to the group! I have heard good things about the elleptical. How are you enjoying it? Sorry to hear about your friend lack of tack... Hang in there!

FMinPA: You might have made a mistake but you ate lots of veggies and drank lots of water which is great!! Keep going and it won't show at the end of the week!

Selena: Way to go, sounds like you are doing great!! Keep it up!

Paige: Great idea about taking a family picture as a reward for reaching a goal! I will join you in using that as a reward.

Sara: If you stayed within your points then you didn't fail!! You have to right attitude when you say you won't quit!! It would only be worst if you did quit so hang in there and it will get better and easier. The first few weeks are the hardest then it becomes so much easier, second nature. I hope your weigh-in goes well so you'll be encouraged!! Is your weigh in on Fridays? I will join in the water challenge but if it's ok I will keep my goal at 4 glass so 32 oz for the moment. I need to succeed at first to be encouraged and I know I would not be able to handle 8 glasses right away (my bladder just coudn't handle it, hi hi). Hopefully, I will build up to more soon.

FMinPA: Hi Christina! I too have to increase my veggies so has to be full, because I have been feeling hungry a lot this week. I know if I keep with eating better my body will get use to the new portions size. But this week isn't easy. I think with time when we start feeling so much better eating the healthy food we probably will enjoy them more. We just have to stick with it! We will make it to 175!

Christy: I agree with you, weekends are tough! That sure is my biggest challenge. Hope you ended up enjoying being outside.

Michelle: Thanks for the list! I will make it easier to keep track of everyone. How about a new post every week? I personnally like to go back to my last posted message and read from there. So too many messages might make it harder to keep track. I like the challenge idea, but I would once again make it weekly so if I can't read up one day I didn't miss it and I can keep up the challenge. Maybe start a weekly thread with a challenge. Just an idea!

Jen: Welcome to this group! Sounds like a good plan to lose weight : ) Looking forward to getting to know you!

Sara: Thanks for your support too!

As for me, today was hard since it was DH's birthday and I cooked all day, but even if I wasn't perfert, I'm happy I did so much better than I would have in the past. I only had one serving at supper and a sliver piece of cake and actually didn't miss not having more ( I used to eat two pieces!) Not much water today though, but tommorrow I will be back on track with the water. I also play ice hockey tommorrow which will help me start my week more actively!

Hope it's a good week for everyone! Heathy choices everyone!
  • Good Morning girls...I am getting my clothes together for Curves and making me the MOCK pancakes (SouthBeach Style!)...we will see how those turn out...I am running late...but wanted to say GOOD MORNING!! I will be back, as soon as I get to work!! Today is my 2 week WEIGH-IN!! Eekkk!!
    Have a GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!
    Selena
  • Good morning ladies! hope everyone had a great weekend. I admit, the weekends are HARD for me. All the kids want is junk! I have little willpower, so I give in and eat the leftovers! Ugh!

Those natural cheetos! i need to stop buying them. I did buy more fruit and veggies, so hopefully I can learn to eat those instead of grabbing the cheetos!

I drank my water and took my vitamins faithfully. I did 4 minutes on my elliptical a couple of times on Friday and again Saturday. Only 2 minutes on Sunday. I did not buy or drink any coke/soda. Made iced tea instead. I did weigh myself and the scale read 214 (which is my high that I keep flip flopping back and forth to). Depressing.

Been good avoiding dairy. Off to drink some water and maybe a couple of minutes on the elliptical. Whoo wee!
  • Hey, all... sounds like the concensus is to keep this thread going and have a weekly (rather than daily challenge as well). That seems like a great idea. It will make it easy to keep track of the weekly challenge by having it in a different place, and we can still keep welcoming the newbies and directing them to the challenges here.

I'm going to start a weekly challenge... I'll post a link in a minute.
  • Okay, I posted a new challenge thread here: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53789

Hopefully, this will be an easy start for most of us, but it's a good habit to get into.
