  • hello ladies. I was going to give the board a break today, but i find i miss it. I already did 15 min on the bike today and i will do 15 more tonight before i go to bed.My weight is doing the whole yo-yo thing. i have moved the scale from in front of the fridge to a cabinet in the bathroom.maybe i won't look at it as much.i almost thought about letting my husband take it with him, kinda like i did with the ciggarttes when i quit smoking. I think i have become addicted to the scale. Its amazing what kind of insight you get into yourself when you write these journals and posts. anyway i am feeling much better today. congratulations to all of the pound losers today.

    So i actually made it back and am keeping good on my hope to post everyday to keep me honest. I have to say that today i ate a lot. My best friends parents came out tonight and brought us dinner. I tried to eat as little as possible because i knew how bad the food was, but they are italian so they just kept feeding me, lol. I suppose its ok since ive been good for over a month now. I've been counting calories and trying to get in excersize. I was down a pound this morning to 168 but im sure that after tonight ill be back at 169 I can't wait for the cold to end so i can go outside again and workout. It's been such a challange for me to get excersize since i cant afford any machines and i live in an apartment so videos make the floor shake lol. I figure once it gets nice i can try to run. I am a very bad runner. I can only go about 5 min before i want to collapse and die, but hey ill work up to it.

    Stephanie--I wanted to say i admire your dilligence it looks like you have your meal plan down to a science. I hope i can be that disciplined someday Good job!

    Michelle-- Thank you so much about my name. Most people can never remember it so i get deanna a lot

    Yeah!!! I had my official WI today and I lost 3.8lbs. I had estimated that it might be around 4 lbs. So I was pretty close.

    It has really helped having so many people (22) at work doing WW. We had a breakfast for our school counselor and a bridal shower for a teacher this week, and both were WW friendly!!!! Of course there was baddddddddddddd stuff there to but I am finding that I don't really miss it. Last night I was watching a commercial for pizza and I thought to myself gosh we haven't ordered a pizza in 5 weeks!!! We use to order one every week. All I could think about while I was watching the commercial is how many points that one slice would be and that it wasn't really worth it!!!!!!!

    Stephanie- I'm glad your on the mend and starting to feel better!!!

    Tess- What a way to workout!!!! It sure is nice to do it with a loved one!

    Lisa-I am right there with you with that blasted scale!! I have to have a "fix" everyday! It drives me crazy and can set my mood for the whole day!

    Adena-Take one step at a time...Your on the right track! Keep it up.

  • Tess - Thanks. I'm feeling a lot better. I can't wait to be entirely better. I have a lingering cough that I'll be thrilled to be rid of!

    Lisa - I'm glad you're feeling better. Just hang in there. You're making the right choices with getting on your bike. Just remember if you make the right choices, the weight has no choice but to come off! Great job!!

    Adena - Thank you. I'm trying. I struggle too! I have to keep my calorie intake low during the day because I am prone to take in too many calories after I'm home at night.

    Paige - congratulations on the weight loss!! That's excellent!

    Last night I ended up snacking! I blew a great day on some darn crackers!! I ended up eating 1,700 calories for the entire day yesterday. On the upside I did walk for about 12 minutes yesterday (during my 2 15-minute breaks at work) and I cleaned house like a madwoman last night. I broke a really good sweat and got my heart rate up. I'd say I cleaned straight for 3 hours. I actually cleaned from about 6 pm to about 10 pm but I sat down for a couple minutes here and there. I am very sore today from bending over so much! But my house looks so much better. The good thing is that I live in a townhouse, so when I'm doing laundry and stuff, I constantly have to be up and down those stairs putting it away!
    Today has started off very good again! I have had my 200 cal breakfast and today I brought a 250 cal lunch with me. Along with my mini carmel rice cakes if I want something sweet.
    I have to say that I was doing great not eating too much last night until I sat down around 10 PM. I should have just went to bed. I was tired. But instead, I stayed up an hour longer and added 630 calories to my calorie intake for the day. I was at 1070 calories for the day before I sat down at that time. And I WASN'T hungry. How silly I am sometimes. I was just craving those stupid crackers. Next time I will just go to bed if I am tired. I will not eat something when I am tired enough to go to bed and it's bedtime!! I will do better!

    Stephanie:thanks for the good vibes and i am sure you will get lots more exercise today and the crackers will be a distant memory.

    Paige: congrats on your weight loss. keep up the good work.

    Well tonight was a bust. I went out to eat with my applied math group and they pretty much decided to do all appetizers. I managed to get a tossed salad but i also had a couple of chicken wings and fries. I managed to sidestep the alcohol and just had water which was huge. It is so hard going out in groups because not too many people know about my diet and i dont really want to bring it up in front of my advisor. OH well tomorrow will be a better day. I think if its nice tomorrow i might try to go for a jog. I might die, but ill try 5 min then walk the rest. Im so happy for the weekend to be here, my brain is fried from all the math and i could use the extra two hours of sleep in the morning.

    Stephanie--I have the same problem, i eat too much at night. I know for me its because im home instead of at school where there is no food

    I hope everyone had a good day! My day went pretty good until I got home from work. I didn't really have anything to fix for dinner so we went to Wendy's. I had a chicken sandwich but was still able to have enough points left over to have a WW cookies and cream bar. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
    That's one thing I really like about WW. Sometimes you feel like this must be cheating, but as long as you have the points it's ok. Guilt-free!!! Tomorrow will be somewhat of a challenge. My daughter has a classmate that is having a birthday party tomorrow. They invited the whole family so we will all be going. I know the kids are only 4 but he and my daughter decided years ago that they wanted to get married!!! Who knows I quess stranger things have happened!! Anyway they are very special friends and my daughter is very excited about the party. I am starting to get a little burned out on birthday parties, we have had 4 in the last 6 weeks.

    Here's to a great weekend!! I'll check in tomorrow.

    Hello ladies. I have not been able to post for a couple of days. It seems like it has been so long ago. I am training someone at work so I can not get online long enough to post. I try keeping up on the reading though. I have another girl to start training on Monday so I will not be able to post often but will try to keep checking in.

    Welcome Adena ~ It sounds like you are off to a great start. The women here are so supportive. They boost you up when you are down and have very good advice to offer.

    I have been doing very good this week. . . . .until last night. Some girlfriends that I have not seen in almost a year called to meet them at Fazoli's for dinner. Our place we use to always go. They are both so tiny it does not affect them. Me on the other hand......i thought i should get something healthier........but I got a submarino instead. I did not have much to eat during the day yesterday and I think that is why I caved.

    I too am a scaleaholic. First thing outta bed and on the scale before I know what I am doing. I thought of putting it in bottom of the closet in bathroom so maybe "outta sight outta mind" might kick in. I yo-yo so bad during week and I think that discourages me. If I would just stick to weigh-in on Monday morning i might feel better about myself.

    Well gals ~ i will try to post sometime next week. It will be hard because I can only post when at work. Keep up all the great work and I will check in on everyone.

    - Michelle : Thank you, for the comment on my english , to be honest here most of the schools are bilingual, i had the chance to go to one, and here I am, i think my paranoia with english it's that I'm not confident enough to speak it or write it in this case!

    Lisa & Jme: move the damn thing (the scale that its ) away from you!!, I think the scales of the world had get together to control our minds, and let me tell you something, i think they're getting their job done!!!, lets just weigh in just a single day of the week, that would keep our minds sane

    -Paige: Way to go girl!!!, keep on the good work so far, you give me such a good vibe!!!

    -Stephanie: I'm laughing with that cracker thing!!!, i'm sure the next time you do that amazing job cleaning your house you'll crave a good shower and your confortable bed

    I weighted in this week and yes, what i didnt wanted to see, happened!, i gained 1 pound, and that got me blue for the rest of the week. I munched on every snack i could reach, i know that makes me even fatter, and i that shouldn't do that, and the're no excuse to feel blue cause the scale it's having a bad day too So this up coming week challenge to me, it's to say no to chocolate goodies, and bagged snacks, and post a really nasty pic of fat on my pc, mirror, fridge, wherever I can see it so that would remind me that no matter what i do, i wont give the scale the satisfaction of making me feel like a fat loser, IM NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THAT!!!!

    Havent seen Jeanesa in a while, does anyone knows anything about her?

  • Joana- I think you came up with a good idea for this week's challenge. This week, try replacing any junk food snacks you would have with fruit, veggies, or another healthy option. What does everyone think? Can we give up junk food for just one week?
  • Hi ladies!

    Well, I haven't checked in lately because I kind of fell off the wagon... my birthday was February 24 and it all went downhill from there. Celebratory meals, cakes, out of town guests, etc. We had a big snowfall here early in the week which prohibited me from going to the gym (or anywhere for that matter). I kind of spiraled out of control at my own admittance.

    I finally got back into the gym and on track today. I made myself work extra hard as a reminder that I have to work out in order to beat this weight. I feel awesome afterwards!

    I feel even more awesome after I weighed myself-- despite my misgivings over the last week or so, I still dropped a pound and a half. I think it has a lot to do with the "survival mode" theory I'd heard before. Whatever it is, I'll take it.

    Back on track this week with everything. I have no more excuses as the weather has cleared up and there are no trips or visitors in sight!

    Here's to a great week for us all.
  • hey everyone...I am a newbie who would like to join for some support in my weight loss. I have had my difficulties and struggle at times, but I would like to lose at least 10 pounds! I am counting calories and zig zaging if that is how you say it. anyway I have been doing this for a week and i see no results. I exercise a lot during the week and i thought that would help it. anyway i need lots of advice.

    welcome Danielle. I too am addicted to the scale now but I think it is best way for me to be at least its in my mind now. I had a splurge on friday night - mexican - and a couple of drinks. Dbf and I did walk to the resturaunt tho, 30 min each way and we had a great night with some friends of ours. Other than that 1 night I have done pretty well, kept on points and have done at least 30min exercise per day I even walked by dog for 30min last night after work at 10:30pm just to get the exercise in. I hope you all are on track I will post again this afternoon.

  • Ok. I need something really good to happen. The weekend was not that good. For some strange reason, I was eating everything in sight. I had to call the doctor to get another antibiotic for this bronchitis too. I think that's why I just wanted to munch. I didn't feel really great. And too, I know that this is the last week that I have a job. I don't have anything lined up yet. And this jerk calls this morning (i'm working as a receptionist at an attorney's office) and I tell him (not being rude or anything) that the attorneys set their own appointments and that the particular attorney he's working with is not in at the moment but that if he will leave a message on the atty's voicemail that he should get back with the man as soon as possible after he gets in the office. The man leaves a message and then calls back. He states that he's wanting to try to get this taken care of this morning. I politely told him that the attorney should get back with him as soon as possible after he gets in the office. And that I couldn't guarantee that he could see the attorney this morning because I didn't have the attorney's schedule. This guy asked me if this attorney would have a new secretary or a new person answering the phones when the firm moved to the new location. I told him that there would be a different receptionist. To which he replied 'Good because I was finding it difficult dealing with you'. I politely replied to him that 'I was sorry to hear that, I was trying to give him a realistic expectation on everything'. WHAT A JERK!!!! And then I called the temp agency to see if they have anything in the works for after this is over and find out that the lady I normally work with (and really, really like - she's very nice) is no longer there! She was there on Friday and today she's not. They said that she left of her own accord. But I just don't believe it since she was there and working on Friday. Was even sending my resume places. This morning absolutely stinks! I haven't felt quite this bad in a while. Unfortunately, my only goal for this week is to not eat everything in sight. I have one job that I've interviewed for that I haven't heard back from yet. They mentioned a second interview and definitely wanting to set me up with one. I certainly hope they call today to set that up. I really, really need some good news. It is all that I can do to not sit here and cry. It's hard to tell what the temp agency may set me up with now that Kathy is gone. I really feel like I could have a panic attack. I've had a couple throughout my life. I'm sorry to unload all this on you all, but I really needed to get it all out.
