Shelley: I know I looked at some of the over the counter pre-packaged menopause brands. Most had just tiny amounts of the good stuff in them. I ended up getting over a 1 month supply for under $4.00 by just purchasing a bottle. Although, by the time I added my Vit. B, C and E to the list plus other stuff, I spent close to $50.00. But most of it will last me alot longer then the 1 month. Also, if anyone needs the progestrone cream, it is sold at Walmart for under $13.00.

Leaving to go visit a couple of Hospice clients, I will check in later! Hope all of you are having a GREAT day!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone

Yesterday was not a good day for me. I just could not control my eating. I had been so good for a week, then yesterday I ate 45 points. I gained a pound. I am going to get back with the program today and put yesterday behind me. Some days I just find it so hard, and other days I find it easy. I think the weather has me down, and I'm just plain bored being stuck in the house so much. The water pipes are frozen this morning so we have been working trying to get them thawed before they burst. I can't wait for spring, it is just too cold to do much of anything. I have thoughts of the deck, BBQ's and the pool.
This is going to be a better day, I worked too hard to be going the other direction. I'm not putting that weight gain on my tracker because it is not here to stay long.

Good morning Janice, heres a {{{HUG}}} for you. We ALL have days like you decribed, its a good thing you continued to journal!!! How about if you lower your daily points for the rest of the week? Say if you went over by 20 points, then each day you could eat a few points less? Just a thought... don't beat yourself up, you will get through this. Just know you can come here anytime you want to and vent. I LOVE your little funny guy in the pool, I'm so ready for spring too!!!!

Gayle, I took a few minutes between entering Arrest Warrants and took the test you sent. Now I'm REALLY confused. I seem to have a problem with EVERYTHING! Were your results clear cut, or did you take the one that had the highest number of points???

Janice, Hope today is much better for you!!!!! Hang in there!

Janice don't beat yourself up. You have done the right thing by facing it and not saying I blew it and throwing in the towel. It is tough just coming here to tell us you had a bad day but that is why we are here. You have a positve attitude, you rock. You are going to do it. I would try what Gayle's suggest and count down for the rest of the week. That will balance out your calories. Maybe add some exercise to undo the extra calories.

My new computer is set up. I just love it. I have a 17 inch flat screen. Now that is exciting compared to my itty bitty one I had before. I will now be able to download my pics on the pc. I will be able to share some with you. Hopefully I will figure it out and share one or two from my trip from Vegas. It is hard to believe that wasn't even two months ago.

My back has been really sore since around 4:00 yesterday. I have cut down on one of the pills to see if it will raise my blood pressure. Just waiting for the doc to call and see if I can increase it again. Well because of that I can't sit here any longer. I would love to be able to post to everyone of you. Hopefully soon.
Have a good day.

Janice-Don't worry, just get right back on track. There is even a WW plan made up by someone that lets you eat 1 or 2 days a week with high points, then do a lower point day for the next 3 days. I wouldn't even try to lower your points below your minimum. This is what WW is all about. It is supposed to be a way of life, and there is no possible way that any of us would be able to be perfect everyday of our lives. I hope you are doing better today. We are all here for you!

Thank you to everyone for all your encouragement. I have had a good day today, and ate just the points I was allowed. I find I loose better if I eat close to all my points each day. I guess it keeps my metabolism up. I have an under active thyroid too which doesn't help either. I feel so much better having someplace I can get support and say exactly whats going on without feeling like a failure. I'm really paying attention to all the advice for menopause symptoms, I have asked my doctor about it a while ago because I was getting chin hair. Too much of some hormone. He tested me and I was normal for the male hormone (can't spell it) My mother died of breast cancer at 44, and I had my first lump removed when I was 44 - thank goodness it wasn't cancer, but I am very leary of taking hormone drugs.
I'm feeling much better about myself today.
Thanks

Hello All

I'm so glad it's Friday!! It's been a hard week for me and I'm so tired.

Ramona,
You really know how to bring a smile to my face! I loved the card!! You are soooo sweet!! I have cried so hard the last 2 days. You'll never guess what I did?! Chris was to make 1 phone call when he got to Great Lakes.Well he called at 10:15 Tuesday night and we were alseep! He did leave a sweet message.I guess with so much going on, I was completely worn out and fell asleep waiting for his call! It has upset me so much. I can't write him and explain UNTIL I get his address. Hopefully he'll understand and forgive me. Thanks again for thinking of me.

Gayle,
Thanks for the info on the pills. I'm like Ramona...They ALL apply to me!! I'll have to read deeper into it. The tortillas sound great. I'm thinking of having them this weekend. About this Progetrone Cream...Dumb Question??? Where does it go?!

Janice,
I had my complete hysterectomy in '95. I couldn't take the hormone pill or wear the patches. Now I'm on the hormone ring. It goes up in your vagina and stays there 3 months, then you change it. You never know it's there or nor can you feel it. My question is: I too have chin hair that I have to pluck all the time. Is this due to too much hormones? Is it better not to take anything at all and just fight hot flashes? BTW: I think you're doing great on WW. But please don't go under your points. You need them all to lose weight.

The neighbor is here...sorry...need to finish this post later....

Sherry, of course Chris will understand. You will get to write to him soon, but he may not want a lot of letters. The Navy may be different, but in the Air Force, they make you keep everything you get in the mail and sometimes it can be hard to find a place for it and keep it neat. Just be sure and ask him when he calls again. When Ben left, I didn't get out of bed for two days. All I could do was cry. But he is so happy and has such a great career ahead of him that it was all worth it. Remember, I'm here for you!

Gayle, You've really got me interested in this hormone thing now. I'll try to do a lot of reading this weekend.

Well, I'm off to bed. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Ramona, out of the group of 6 tests, a few more stood out then the others too me. My changes have been gradual, so I never realized it was my hormones making me feel the way I do. I hate to admit it, but Steve has been saying for the past few years I had a hormone problem, guess I thought it would just go away.

Sherry, sweetie, you can rub the cream anywhere you want to.....although it may not be a good thing just yet to excite Wayne to much! LOL!
Actually it is absorbed into your blood stream, suggested spots are the neck, bottoms of the feet, inside of the arm or palm of the hand.

Janice, was it progesterone?
