Thankyou so much everyone for all the birthday wishes,I appreciate them so much, its funny though I feel exactly the same as I felt yesterday "OLD" no just kidding. My Daughter gave me some comfortable causual wear, nike track pants and white fleece hoodie, so I will be comfy and spiffy.Have to wait for my Sons its a surprise, told him not to long a wait to long because I grow older as the hours of the day tick away Its really cold here today, I know we are supposed to getting snow sometime this week and it looks like its will be a white Christmas according to next weeks forcast, hopefully it does'nt change.Well I am going to get some coffee and I will be back to catch up with you all, but just wanted to thankyou for all the warm birthday wishes. :merry: :sball2:
  • Gotta zoom in and out today -- it's 8am, and I have to shower, go to the post office, the ATM, drop something off at the dr's office, and be at my desk at work at 10:45am. EEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKK!!!!!!

Too much to do...too much to do...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLEN!!!

At work we have a "holiday choir" that my friend Alison started. We sang at the kid's Christmas party last Saturday, we sang yesterday in our lobby, will sing this Saturday at a senior's apartment, and next week in the lobby and at a retirement luncheon. I sing alto, but have no ear for harmony so I just stand next to stronger altos and let them drag me along for the ride, heehee...

ACK! LOOK AT THE TIME!!! Gotta fly, ladies...hello to you all, and hope you have a great day...
  • :merry:

A lovely good morning to all you Jaded Ladies!

I will start with Ms Ellen first: Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday Ms. Ellen...Happy Birthday to you! And many more...from channel four...and scooby do from channel two...(don't know if that's how that goes or if there is more! LOL) Have a GREAT day Ms. Ellen!

Katy~I agree with the green, something very calming it about it too,and I do enjoy the outdoors. Not to find the right shade. I am liking one called Caesar Salad...where do they come up with these names? Caesar Salad I can understand but some of the others are crazy. Glad you got those trees down. The last house we lived in had a bunch of old trees around the house and when we had thunderstorms it scared me. They were old and looked to be rotting and I was so afraid one of them would fall on the house. V had some branches fall into the bed of his truck after one storm-scary.

Ann~a very good morning to you. Hope you are having a nice day so far. Looking forward to hearing more from ya.

Mindee~of course it's not googy to wrap Brandons presents. I enjoyed watching the kids open theirs at that age even though the presents would be thrown aside and they would play with the paper or box. And like Katy said-perfect photo opportunity.

Angie~hope you find the time to post. We miss you around here girly.

Shanna~still waiting for you to check in. Hope school is easier for ya at this point. You should be on break at this time or possibly next week??? We want to see you checking in girly, it's been a while.

Susan~did you ever get that BIG card from your sweetie pie Mr. Rocky? Hope things are better for you.

Jane~loving the light-the perfect amount of light to see without even having my little table lamp on. again.

Marti~how are you liking driving your new car? It is a beauty! What does Jhanai think about it? Has she seen it yet?

Well ladies, not much going on with me today. Need to move my bookshelf and books down to the family room since we rearranged last night-no room for it. Oh well, once we finish the family room I will be down here most of the time anyway so...have to rearrange everything down here also and that will take a few days-not in a hurry for that. Anyway...going to clean the main floor and do a couple of loads of laundry and that is my day.

Hope every one has a fabulous day! Take care ladies

Edited:Aaaahhhh...Ellen and Katie you ladies were sneaking in there while I was writing this mini-novel...

    Ellen~hope you day is grand!

Katie~the choir sounds lovely, wish I could hear you ladies sing. Have a great day!

I am loving these new smilies, aren't they the cutest?!
  • Heeeeellllllllloooooo...
where is everyone? I am surprised to see no one has posted since I was here last. Hope everyone is okay.

Anyway...just checking in for a sec to say THANK YOU to Katy & Marti for the beautiful Christmas cards I received today! And a special Katy for the pic of the kiddos-they are so cute! Don't tell James that he probably doesn't want to hear he is cute. Okay...so he is handsome! I do love all the different poses.

Had something else to say but it seems to have slipped my mind. Oh well...maybe it will come to me later.

    Later ladies

Remembered...Ellen, could you PM me your address again please. I seem to have misplaced it. Ooops! Thought I wrote it down in my address book along with the others but it's not there.
  • Don't have time for individuals today since I've got to get to work in an hour...today is my early day!! (Jhanai time!!)

Here is an UPDATE on my car problems:
We got a call this morning from them telling us that they took the plug out and check to see the if the gasket had a crack in it or not.....guess what...there was the problem! They FORGOT to put a gasket in! They spoke to the mechanic and another one who was helping and between the two there was a miscommunication and the plug was put back in w/out the gasket.
So: They said that they are getting us a new motor (no cost to us) and told us that they were indeed fully reliable for all the damage that was done. A .50cent piece (for the gasket) is now costing them $1200 to fix. The new motor only has 90,000 miles on it (ours has 130,000) so thats a plus. And the turbo on our motor will be put on the new one since ours is only a few years old.

Needless to say, they did finally admit to us that they did cause the damage....did some apologizing and we'll get the car back (running and fixed) next week.

After all this commotion, James decided to continue going there for our oil changes... he says that they did own up to it and were honest after checking it. (I guess they just had to see it for themselves.)

Ok that's my update, must finish my hair and head out.

Thank you Katy and Katie for the cards!! I got them in the mail today!!

I'll chat and do individuals next time!

    Hugs to you all!
  • :merry:HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE:merry:
I was so tired today that I slept all afternoon, must be exhaustion from carrying that extra year around, this one feels heavier than the rest I wanted to thankyou again for all the birthday wishes, they meant a lot to me. Its been a prettiy quiet day,I was given a birthday cake but I didn't eat it, that was hard. It was a gesture ,the kids were not upset that I didn't, they know how hard I have been trying to lose this weight but, they enjoyed it on my behalf.I really think its zapping the energy out of me though, but I was down another pound today so its worth it for the time being. I hate the whole process of losing weight ,because for me its not about the food, I think if that was it ,I would'nt have such a hard time. Its really not even a large amount to lose .but to me it seems unsurmountable sometimes , crazy I know. Listen to me whining on my birthday ,oh oh it must be the age thing . or the lack of food thing or maybe both. I don't feel like doing individuals tonight so forgive my rambling. You girls have made this birthday extra special,(((HUGS))) I hope everyone had a wonderful day. I think I need some sleep so I think I will say goodnight everyone.

  • Good Saturday morning, ladies!

Katy - thank you so much for the card and the picture! The kids are just adorable! James is going to be a tall one. Didn't know you chose to keep your maiden name. Do the kids go by R-T or just T? I sure do understand about alone time when you're a sahm! Especially in the winter when you can't get outdoors as much. Sometimes I used to meet Neal at the door with my coat on, ready to leave as he came in, lol.

Ellen - glad you had a happy birthday, and I have to say it's mighty nice to have another 50 year-old around here, lol. When the others hear creaky bones, they won't know if it's you or me, lol. YAY for the 1 pound down. How many does that make now?

Katiecat - the holiday choir sounds like so much fun! Nice way to have fun and bond with co-workers, too. Glad you're feeling better!

Cristi - did you get everything moved? I think I already mentioned it, but I am about to burst with wanting to change something in my house. But don't want to do too much for when we go back to the other place.

Marti - so glad the dealership took responsibility for the mistake they made. James is right, imho, since they made good. At least you know they are honest. Hope you're having fun with your DD today. Bet she loves the new car!

Susan - have you forgotten us, lol?

    Hi to the others.

Didn't make it online at all yesterday. Got the house really clean and got some other things done, too. Today I am making chili for tomorrow. Love it a day old, lol. Btw, I get weighed everyday now, and am very happy to report that I'm doing well with maintenance so far. It is just about the same as regular WW, with a few more points added. I even still keep a daily food log, and guess I always will. I am already about 15 minutes late in calling Maggie, so I have to hurry!

    Have a good Saturday!
  • :merry: HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE
Well I survived the big birthday, unscathed!!!!!!
Hi Jane I'm not sure I like the sound of that number ,but your as young as you feel, right, and numbers don't matter anyway.Aside from the aches and pains I feel as young as I did on Thursday I just hope the next 50 are better than the last. I have lost a total of 7 lbs but 4 since I restarted , so having that birthday cake staring me in the face was a challenge. They didn't want to torture me but they could'nt imagine not giving me a cake, but I was ok. I have to do what you did yesterday, make the house sparkle again, which I'm sure I did the other day to mmmm chili I love chili, I started making mine with chicken breasts a year ago when I was watching my diet , turns out my kids and like it just as much as beef ,so I have been sticking to making it that way.Thats great that you are doing so well , I will be relieved when I'm maintaining ,and not trying to lose . It really is a lifestlye change , so I will be watching from now on ,but I will have my Christmas Dinner, I just can't pass that up. Do you splurge on Holidays or do you stick to your program .So to all you other girls I will be back to catch up later, hopefully I can get something done today,I feel like I might have a little more energy than yesterday.
  • A quick hi from me today
Marti and Katiecat - thanks for the cards....Angie ,too....(can't remember if I thanked you or not yet) so sweet!

Well, everyone is off of school/work for the next two weeks. The payoff for living a tightwad lifestyle on a teacher's income is that we get Daddy home for two weeks! Can we stand it - are we going to drive each other crazy? Tune in here at Jaded Lady Central for the continuing saga.....

Jane - Kids are just T. When we married, I felt we should both do the same thing with our names either both hyphenate or just leave them alone. My last name is kind of unique and I wanted to keep it...so that's the story of the the name thing. Everybody kind of does their own thing don't they? I was just never all that jazzed about changing my name - so I didn't. Have no prob with the kids - their first and middle names come from my family and their last name is their dad's.

I'm off - kids and I are going thrift store shopping - I need some smaller pants ( wahoo) and James has allowance burning a hole his pocket - so off we go!
    Later

Ellen- so glad you had a nice birthday and congratulations on your losses - you are doing great!
  • quick post....gotta get the house ready for our christmas party.

thanks for not thinking that I am goofy for wanting to wrap them. and I too agree, they work for perfect photo ops!

I will come back later or tomorrow depending on how the party goes.
  • Good morning all,
I did write a huge post one evening and somehow I ended up pushing a button I shouldn't of and my computer shut down...arghhh I was almost done.
Marti, I am so glad that everything worked out on the motor and such,,,glad they owned up. And i agree with James, what are the chances they will mess up again? And the new car,,is gorgeous! I would be pretty excited about driving it too. Beautiful color,,,very sharp.
Katy, my parents had the town show up one day and cut down all the trees boardering their front yard...I thought it was so much nicer to have all those huge pines gone. I love the picture of the kids,,,you are blessed. Like you Im an alto that needs a strong alto to guide me.
Ellen, hope you got some sleep, do you have any other family? Brothers sisters?

My brother and SIL showed up today with all our gifts, I dropped mine off with them yesterday. They bought a new vehicle recently, very nice, shiny silver. My brother checked out my Santa Fe,,,
I went to see a play last night and laughed so hard I hurt today. It was called the female vesion of Scrooge,,,it was great.
Rehearsal of Steel Magnolia's is going great,,,
Iolanthe meeting was a couple of nights ago but i had to go to Tanner's christmas school band. That was beautiful...the grade 9 played a piece that was written after the 911.
Tanner got the second lead in his school play,,,hes Jack as in Jack in the Beanstalk...I laughed at him cause he tells me,,,*sigh I don't know who's doing costume but I know its no Frank,,,probably some Walmart stuff thrown together.. (Frank is our costumer and wins awards for his stuff,,,Tanner has become a theatre snob)
Brandon is doing so great,,,his spirits are up and hes just cruising along on his crutches. There for awhile he was in so much pain and couldn't move around much,,,he was pretty cranky and Id say a bit depressed.
Skittles is needed a bath so I should get that done,,,and I may even clean the house...arghhh this place is so dusty and needs vaccuuming yuck!
    well better run
    have a great day Ladies,,,,
    Oh Ya Welcome Ann!
  • Hi girls...

Busy weekend so I don't have much time on the computer. Just wanted to say hello and catch up on all the reading.

Drove around in the car today...(ok,,,more like rode around the car today) and it's just gets better and better!!

Anyway, Jhanai has a craft project for us to do so I need to get going.

Take care and I'll post again soon.
  • Don't really have much to say but thought I should at least drop in and say HI

Jane~what do you mean by you don't want to do too much for when you go back to the other place???? Did I miss something somewhere? Are you guys going to be moving? I am really not itching to do anything new to the place as I did like the yellow in the LR but since getting the furniture it doesn't look right up against it-it really does look funny, or maybe 'off' is a better choice of words. Otherwise I sure wouldn't be doing anything. I like what we did before moving in with all the paint so it would have stayed for years had I found a green couch. There was a time I would change things every few months, even arranging furniture but now that I am older I fix it one way and it usally stays for a long time. Unless we get new furniture and then everything has to be rearranged! LOL We did get everything moved, including the tree! Looks a lot better this way and seems to be more space. Oh well...it will stay for years when we paint again for sure.

Anyway...hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. That's about all I have, I'm in a mood so...see ya later sometime.
