Hay folks...ended up back in the hospital...this sciatica thing is worse than I thought...got some really funky painkillers and anti inflammatories...so the pain is being dealt with...sort of...I've never been in this much pain in my life...and I've broken pretty well every bone in my body...and't it's never hurt this bad...Keep up the great work ladies and I'll keep an eye out for everyone!!

Skinny, I hear ya about the crosseyed thing...doing paperwork does that to me after awhile!

Congrats on keeping up the good workouts in the AM...they say that getting going first thing in the AM revs your metabolism so you kinda keep that endorphin rush for the rest of the day. I love it when I go to the barn first thing and get the critters fed and do all the stalls...by the time I'm ready to ride, i've got this really good burst of energy and I feel great. Same thing with an AM work out..that's why I prefer to workout in teh AM...if I do it at nite...i can't sleep...I will be trying the Gazelle next week once I get the OK from teh Dr to go back to the gym.

I was actually up[ and walking around downtown today...the pain was pretty bad at first but it was gone by the time i'd been walking about 20 minutes...it's once I stopped that it settled in again. Got the new PX from the dr and it seems to be working soooo much better than the last stuff he put me on. So now I go back to the Dr. on Thursday to get a final checkup on the sciatica...

I know exactly what he's gonna say.."Lose weight and exercise" it's always the same thing wether it's for my arthritis, my asthma, my allergies, or now my sciatica....sometimes I just want to throttle him!!Lol

Just cruzin' thru real quick to say howdie. Eating was lousy...but pain is going away...back to the dr. tomorrow for followup and see what we can do about getting rid of the sciatica for good...take care ladies!

Howdie dooo folks...Doc says take at least 2 more weeks off...yeah right...maybe in his alternate universe!! So I am off till tuesday...then back to the grind all drugged up.

Skinny...keep doing what you're doing! It's awesome...if you want to lose...try interval training on the eliptical and the bikes and treadmills...that will rev your metabolizm....also tinker with your eating...try cutting down on sugar, bread, potatos, and pasta...you'll see an instant change right there!!

Keep up the great work...I'm flat on my back for the next 4 days...hope to see Marie and ToF soon!!!

ok ...soooo the sciatica is finally easing up...unfortunaately I think I['m a pain eater. I'm afraid to step on the scales this friday...Just a short note tonite...will drop by tomorrow!

Well, ladies I stepped on the scale this morning and TA DA-I have reached my Easter Challenge goal of losing 5 pounds. :dancer: Check out the updated signature/tracker: 212! Woo-hoo! So, that means I should be able to lose some more in the next 10 days, right? I'm sure gonna try.

I'm doing well w/exercise, eating and water. Monday-60 minutes on gazelle, Tuesday-50 minutes on elliptical, yesterday and today-30 minutes on gazelle and we'll go to the Y tonight as well.

Splashes-good to hear you're feeling better. Don't be afraid to get on that scale, girl. If you have gained, you've still got plenty of time to work it off. What kind of "pain" eating do you do? Mine is generally sweets. Let me know how your weigh in goes.

Marie/TOF-where are you? I miss you. Please come back soon!

Hay skinny!! Congrats on your achievement!! you are an inspiration to us all! Glad to see you back! Pain eating for me is comfort food like icecream or tater chips. I go back to the doctors on Tuesday so I'm dreading what he has to say about the xrays. I've gotten back onto a proper eating regime so hopefully the scale will like me on Friday! Doing good on eating/exercise. Did 30 minutes on the gazelle yesterday morning and today and 50 on the elliptical last night. Doing well w/points and water intake. Overall, I feel things are going well.

Splashes-thanks for your kind words. It helps a lot to know people are cheering for you! I hope all goes well at the doc's. Be sure to let me know what he says, okay?

I'm out of here after lunch today. I'm heading to Indiana to spend some time w/my parents tonight and attend my niece's bday part tomorrow. I'll try to check in while I'm gone. I've already committed to not eating cake/ice cream and I'm sure my sis will have some fruit or some alternative for me. She's very supportive. Well, gotta run. Have a great day and weekend!!

I swear Skinny, you are my new idol!! Keep up the awesome work! I tried walking downtown tonite with my friend...but didn't even make it down the block the pain got so bad. I think it's because we're getting an ice storm. So it's back on the floor for me. Weigh in on friday wasn't bad...only a pound up but im not gonna move my ticker...cuz I'm sure i pooped it all out today!lol

Hope to see ToF and Marie sometime soon!!!

Hi Skinny and Hots,

Sorry I haven't been around in a while. The remodeling is mostly done and it looks beautiful. The countertops aren't done but we're waiting for warmer weather so that we can open the house up because the adhesive smells so much. The laminate floors are incredibly pretty and I love it. The walls are warma nd inviting. Can you tell I love what we've done?

I've been bad. There's no other way to describe it. I finally weighed in last Thursday and was shocked to see 199. That's 10 pounds over what I was last November when I went to help my mom. So Friday afternoon, the bottom hit and I'm back on track. This morning I was 197.5 so I'm doing better. I've exercised every day and I've been eating good. My first goal is to get back to 189 by May 1st. I think I can do it. Maybe there's another pound of water weight that will slip off easily. The rest will be work, but I'm up to it. There's fruit in the stores again and I made a big bowl of fruit salad (the strawberries were to die for good). When I can have fruit, I can lose weight. I knew the the winter would be hard since I'm not a big apple/banana fan but little did I know how hard. Anyway, I have me fruit and I'm ready to go.

For the EMM what's funny in all of the out of control eating is that I didn't eat candy - the no sweets thing. So I did get rid of that out of my diet. I was into everything else, though.

Hots - I'm thinking of you and hope you start doing better. That's got to be impossible on the diet. I'm a comfort foods eater too.

Skinny - wow on the exercise. Way to go. You're doing so great.

That's it for now. I'm back and I'll stay back now that the remodeling is done.

Just stopping in to say I've made it to 178!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not the 10lbs I was hoping for by easter...but I'm below 179!!! The new meds the doc gave me yesterday help with the pain but make nauseasous...can't spell that word...I'm glad to see you back Marie and back on track! Just gotta wait for Skinny now and hopefull ToF will come back from MIA!!!

Hots, Congrats on 178. That's great!!!!!! Still sorry to see that you're feeling bad. That's got to be horrible.

I've lost 2 of the 10 pounds I gained and am doing perfectly so far. Exercising and eating low cal. I'm just so thankful that it is fruit season. I can lose weight by eating my favorite foods. So I know I'm on tract to stay and will keep checking this thread.

Hi all, I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday. It's the last official day of my spring break, but that's okay. Pretty soon the weather will turn nice again and it will really be spring. That's what I'm looking forward to.

I've been doing good for a week now - back on track and it's getting easier. Never just plain easy. I've been staying around 1300-1400 calories per day. I'm trying to up the consumption of water and haven't been too bad at it. And I've been exercising. I've seen progress on the scale and that was nice (not today, but through yesterday). I want the 10 pounds I regained off and I want them off right away. So I'm really dedicated to what I'm doing.

Mainly, the area I need to work on the most is the water. I was lurking at other threads and read about the point system they use. Two points for staying on the diet, one point for exercising and one point for making the water amount for the day. So a perfect day you'd earn 4 points and so on. I thought it was really cool and I'm going to track my points in excel with my weight. When I reach 100 points, I get a new article of clothing. then I'll start all over. I'm an incentive based person occasionally and I think this will work for me. BTW, yesterday was 3 points - the water got me. Anyway, I thought I'd share what they're doing - it seemed pretty cool.

Today I'm working on a sampler quilt I started last night. The first 12" square I don't like, so I'm going to scrap it and start over. But it's going to be cool and it's one I'm going to hang on the wall. With the wood floors, the house echoes a little and I thought that would help deaden the sound a little.
