Hots, you've got to change your ticker then. Way to go on the pound loss. When I was beginning I used to think of it in terms of butter. You lost 4 sticks of butter. Pretty cool, huh?
Marie |
Hi all. Checking in to stay on track.
Hot,congrats on the lb. That's great! Marie, you are so creative. The sweater is such an accomplishment and it sounds so pretty! You are a true artist. I'm sure if you cry while you do your next stained glass the emotion will make it even better. Hats of to you. I love the way you exercise - the music really inspires me. We returned from skiing a bit early. We had a lot of fun but our legs just got so so tired and I thought I had built up strength, but keeping up with two little boys meant fast skiing. Lots of fun. Eating was ok, I only ate the healthy food but I ate a bit too much - I was starving with the fresh air and all that exercise. Last year it would have been a cheeseburger and fries, this year it was pb on a ww bagel with carrots, an orange and some rice cakes. An improvement. Have a great day. |
eating was crappy today...too much stress right now...poor excuse I know...but you'd be proud of me...I got all good healthy stuff to eat when I went grocery shopping after work tonite.
Marie..cn't move the ticker cuz it only goes in 2lb incrememts...gotta wait till next weigh in!!Lol ToF glad you had fun skiing! Taking care of two little boys is workout enuff! Keep up the great work See everyone tomorrownitel!! |
Hi all. I'll be signing off for a while because my computer is not working, I am having a lot of trouble accessing this site. I wish you well until I settle this glitch. Until then bye!
|
Well ladies, I do apologize for not writing sooner! OT at work again and am brutally tired
eating has not been good. Snack machines at work make it too easy Will be writing more on Thursday after OT is done! |
Hi Hots, sorry about the OT at work. I like having a regular work schedule and working OT is not high on my list of things to want to do. Plus, I'm salaried so I get no extra $$ for OT. They took our snack machines away and it was the best thing for my diet. My eating hasn't been great, either. It hasn't been horribly bad since I'm eating only when I'm hungry, but it sure could be better. I'm trying smaller portions for my dieting instead of counting calories I'll never do that all my life, so I'm going to try to lose with just eating less. I've done it before and it didn't seem like a diet and I lost weight. So wish me luck.
Talk to you tomorrow. Marie |
Hello, ladies
 Hope everyone is doing well. It was my turn to be sick at my house! Yuck! :( But DH took pretty good care of me and everything I do in my absence. Sinus infection but won't complain as there's a couple out at my office w/the flu-even yuckier. So, I missed a couple days of work. I'm still not 100% but much, much better. I can actually take a deep breathe! Glad of it, too.
I haven't weighed in this week. Quite honestly didn't feel like it and didn't care. I have been eating okay but haven't exercised since last Thursday night. So, hope to get back on the bandwagon tomorrow. I won't push it, though. I'll only do what my body tells me I'm capable of doing. Splashes-congrats on the pound gone! Way to go! :cb: :cp: Does the ticker thing at the bottom change on it's own every two pounds or do you manually have to change it. I have one, too but not 100% sure how it works. How's your eating going this week? OT will sure kill the desire to eat healthy, won't it. Why is it so much easier to eat bad for you stuff than good for you stuff? Age old question, I suppose. *sigh* But, we can do it. Let me know how it's going for you. Marie-congrats on your sweater. I bet it's beautiful. Purple is my oldest DD's favorite color as well. As a matter of fact, her whole room is purple. I was reluctanct at first but it turned out quite nice. How's it going w/watching your portions? Are you done w/your other sweater? I can just see you dancing around the room w/your sweater-to ELton John-no doubt! Oh, congrats on the mortgage papers as well. Also, I'm sure Robert will treasure his stained glass even more knowing how much love you put into it. TOF-glad your ski trip went well. How smart of you to take healthy snack alternatives. Have you managed any alone time yet? Be sure to try to squeeze a few minutes in somewhere. Be kind to yourself. I've been thinking about how many sticks of butter I've lost and I think the total is 120 sticks of butter gone. Or 6 five pound bags of flour. or 30 loaves of bread....puts a different spin on things, doesn't it? Gotta run. Everyone take care and ck in soon. Hang in there, ladies. We've come way too far to look back! Forward-always forward. |
Hi all. My computer is going crazy and I can hardly get on this site, but was able to pop in tonight. Hope you are all doing well. I think of you daily. Sorry to hear you're feeling ill Skinny. Hope you get better soon. Marie, are you working on your stained glass. I'm hanging in there on this health journey. Winter is very challenging, I think spring will be a bit easier - but I want those pounds off by the good weather. I'm now trying to break 170 and it's proving to be just as challening as breaking 175! I'm up for a challenge - how about you? We can do it! Take care.
|
OK...so now I'm trying to picture my weight in terms of amount of food! And of course all I can picture is bags of horsefeed, dog food and bales of hay! SO I am conservatively one large square bale of hay overweight, one large bag and two tiny bags of dog food, two bags and bit of sweetfeed, or 3 large bags of scoopable kittylitter!
Glad to see you back and somewhat healthier Skinnybutt! And yes, why is easier to eat badfor you stuff? Age old Age old! My ticker has to be moved manually, youhave to go in and change the numbers on the HTML code. Has yours been moving on it's own? Marie, when i was on a regular work pattern, I eat better, but the OT is what gives me the cravings for candy bars. I just need that sugar boost to get me thru the last hour or so. NOt good. ANd my eating has been horrible this week. Hope youa re doing better! ToF hope you get your puter fixed!!!ANd I hear ya about the weather thing...I can't even get myself to walk the dogs around the block...i just let them out in the back yard! GOod luck on breaking 170!!! |
just a quickie note ladies...just wondering where everyone is tonite! Eating was ok today! and I got on the scales...ANOTHER POUND!!WOOHOOOOOO!!! Have a great weekend...won't see anyone till Sunday...got a date!
|
Hi everyone, things have been busy, but when aren't they? I love that it is weekend and I took Monday off too. DH has Monday off so we're spending Valentine's Day together. It won't be a good food day, but I'm not trying to lose weight to be perfect everyday. Somedays it just won't be good. In my taste of home magazine, there was a recipe for a chocolate cherry heart shaped cake. DH saw the picture and said we should make it. So we're going to. And then there was a recipe for pasta primavera that is delicious, so I'm making that again. Yes, food wise won't be great on Monday, but I will exercise. That's a promise.
Do you all drink your water like everyone recommends? I'm really not bad, but I know I could be better. What I mean is that I drink at least 64 oz but I drink a lot. Lots and lots of diet pepsi. I have water in the am and drink DP till the afternoon when I'm actually sick of it, then I'll drink my 64 oz or so of water. Is that bad? Just a side note on water, when I used to bet bladder and kidney infections, a dr. told me to drink water and also said that koolaid is considered as water intake. So I drink sugarfree lemondade too. What do you think about flavored water as part of the daily intake? Enough about water. Yes, I'm working on my son's howling wolf stained glass. I have the pattern all done and now I have to cut the contact paper pattern out to lay on the glass. I'm also making my friend's little girl a pink sweater. She and I both love pink and I wore my pink sweater the other day, and now I'm making her one too. She's an adorable kid so I'm having a good time with it. Funny thing is that I don't remember little kids sizes. My kids are 18 and 19, and it's been a long time since they were size 6. It looks so darn small. :) Take care and I'll talk to you later. Marie |
Hay Marie! Glad to see you keeping busy! The Stained Glass sounds beautiful and the little sweater sounds adorable. I remember when my Niece was that small...Dang how fast they grow.
As for water, I bought a huge mug from Tim Hortons that holds about 64 ounces of water. I drink one of those at work. I drink about 2-3 mugs of green tea a day plus alot of smaller glasses of water thru out the day at home. So i do believe i get enough water. Doc says I'm doing well. Date went good last nite. Nice and non pressuring. Was home by midnite. So only about 2 hours long. Take care and see everyone tomorrow! |
Good morning, ladies!
Hope all is well. Things here are interesting, as usual. Both my DD's came home from their dad's w/the stomach flu! Yuck. Turns out their younger siblings had it all week and their dad still had them come visit! I am very careful not to send the girls when their ill b/c I don't want to make their younger sibs sick. Unfortunately, their dad doesn't reciprocate. So, they're both at home taking meds and feeling terrible. I wish everyone in my family would get well. and I'm hoping DH and I don't get the stomach flu. The illnesses have really been making their way around here in KY. One of my co-worker's whole family has the flu and her 13 month old daughter had to be put in the hospital. She's doing well now. Guess maybe the stomach flu's not so bad after all. Mostly just frustrated at my ex's selfishness.
Food wise, things here are good. I have started exercising again but mostly using my gazelle at home right now. Will get back to the Y when I'm sure everyone in my house is well again! I drink lots of water. I love water. Nothing else quite satisfies my thirst like water. I think flavored water should count as part of daily intake-I count it on mine. TOF-You must still be having trouble w/your computer. Hope to hear from you soon. My complaint w/weather is that I just wish KY would decide if it's winter or spring! Today-in the 60's, tomorrow-in the 30's. That's why everyine here is sick! Marie-have fun w/your sweater. I'll bet she just loves it. It's sweet of you to make her one. You're a nice lady, aren't ya? Enjoy your new recipes tonight. Splashes-congrats on the pound! Way to go! Keep up the good work. I'm glad your date went well. I've been changing my ticker myself. That's why I asked you. For some reason, the way I read it, it sounded like the tickler moved itself for you! Oh, well. Would be nice, wouldn't it? Well, ladies gotta run. Talk to everyone soon. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! |
Hi all! Seems like the later or earlier I try to get on the better chances I have. I also tried deleted some unnecessary stuff on the computer which I think is helping.
Guess what? The nutrition course turned out to be a farce - a money making effort rather than a truly supportive, learning event. Hence, I'm trying to get my money back. I was so hurt I almost started crying. You all know how personal this journey is and to have someone exploit you to make money. It was awful. If I don't get my money back, I'm going to right to the company president to let him know what happened. Anyways, enough of that. Glad to hear that you're still immersed in your creativity Marie - making beautiful sweaters and stain glass. Hot, good job loosing the pound. Skinny, glad to hear you're on the mend and just about at your halfway point as far as pounds go - that's great. I've been sticking to the plan for the most part. I hit 170 last week which was great. I also ran 4 miles for the first time which felt awesome. Now that the nutrition course is out, I'm going to have to rethink my motivation and direction. I like the idea of nurturing other positive interests too like Marie is doing with her creative work. I've often thought that I'd like to write a children's book. Diversions are good for me. Thanks for being here. I knew I could relate my story to you. Should we start a new challenge? March is such a dull month around here - it will take some good motivation to get through it, I'd love to be down another 10 by the start of April. Take care. |
Hay ToF! Glad to see you around. Sorry to hear about the nutritional plan going butt up...but good luck in efforts to get your money back. And Congrats on the 4 miles! That's amazing! I can't even run to the corner~! Keep up the great work.
I think a challenge for March would be awesome! 10lbs is definitely a goal I'd like to work towards! COunt me in!!! |
