G,DAY s, JUST AN AFTERNOON CHECK IN, HEY TIRED so good to see you pop in I hope your computer problems will sort themselves out for the support and encouragement as always, JUDY I appreciate you saying I shouldn,t apologize for sharing my thoughts, it helps a lot its funny I always say the same thing to others and yet its something I do all the time stems from my childhood so I,ve been told anyway with all the other stuff I,m coming to grips with I forgot something important I have been back on my healthy eating for life plan for 1 week now and I did my weigh in this morning and I,ve lost 2kgs thats nearly 5 lb so when I put my mind to it I can do it other stuff doesn,t seem so important at the moment , I,m on a natural high I maybe not be able to do much about other stuff but I know I can see this journey through to the end just have to stay focused and take it 1 week at a time this time instead of looking long term which is why I think I get off track now and then I look at how long it may take and think oooh my God I,ll never do it something I guess we have all gone through TIRED your maintaining thats great WOW every time I read that you have gone from a size 20 to a 12 I get goose bumps and I can,t wait untill I can know what that feels like, your still exerciseing thats terrific, I find that I seem to want food all the time in the colder months , its just mind over matter your mind tricks you into thinking you need the extra fuel then you feel guilty if you give in, if you have to eat make sure its healthy I find a nice hot cup vegie soup with a couple of rice crackers curbs the hunger pangs in winter, at the moment it is supposed to be the 5th day of winter but somebody forgot to tell the sun that it is still quite hot, so if I hear the food nudging I have a big bowl of salad I can eat as much as I want and feel satisfied without the guilt, I hope you enjoy your party JUDY and don,t worry about eating too much just remember everything in moderation everything is allowed just in moderation , CAROL I bet you felt so proud of yourself when your boss complimented on how good your looking its one thing when we think we are doing well and can feel the difference but what a buzz when others start to notice our hard efforts paying off, well bye for now hi ROLL hope your well catch you later, BLESSED BE, JULIE

Hello everyone! Tiredoffat so glad to hear from you! Don't forget you are important and sometimes you need to schedule time for yourself. Look at how far you have come we are all happy for you! How that computer gets fixed cause we all need you around here! We have indeed missed your input.
Judy have fun at the party. Work out a bit harder the day after to make up for the little extra's but have fun and don't miss out on foods you don't normally have a chance to enjoy. Once someone wrote about intake during holidays. They said eat what foods are treats you don't normally have an leave the normal stuff behind. Makes sense I guess. Enjoy! You can always dance a few min. longer!
Julie your doing great 1 week into a life time of healthy changes. Keep up your spirits only you have the control to make the changes work or not work. We don't have much control in somethings in our lifes but one thing we do have it in food choices we can make. So continue to look forward not backwards and take one day at a time. I
The scale was down and every little bit counts! 1.5lbs. I didn't do my measurements but will on sunday gotta locate the tape. At any rate I am pleased with the 1.5 but know that if I had stuck to my intake a bit closer it would of been better. But sometimes yah just let things slip in a bit. I am going to the gym today for my workout yesterday I just never got there. I have set a goal up for myself 3 times a wk. at least. I also set a plan up for myself with wt. goals. I am shooting for 5.5lbs. for March I am still 4lbs. to go. So lets see how I do. I too have Tom coming for a visit maybe or maybe not. I had gotten rid of him for a few months then he came for an awful visit last month. I am hoping he's gone off again time will tell. But sometimes during his visits I have wanted salty crunchy, sweet stuff not good. He also always brings with him some extra water wt. Oh well enough about him.
Hope your all going to have a great weekend. It is cold in Central New York but sunny!
I will try to ck in over the weekend as it helps me to stay focused and not stray away to foods that aren't such good choices.
Workout today at least for 50 min.
Breakfast: 1 multigrain enlish muffin w/ little canola 150 cal.
1 yogurt w/ 2 Tablespoons granola 140 cal.
Lunch?

Lightbulb Good Morning

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. My facial was wonderful. I was like a mini vacation. Went to the doctors yesterday. I've had some problems with liver function. I'm thinking it has to do will all the fat in my diet the past few years. Anyway, I have to have more tests done. It's just another wake up call. If my tests show that I have a fatty liver...........I guess I'll HAVE to change my diet. I don't drink so it wouldn't be caused by liquor.

Tired, great to hear from you. My computer has been acting up as well.
It's so time consuming and confusing trying to straighten things out.

I'm planning to go to the gym with my daughter later this afternoon.

My food plan:

breakfast: scrambled eggs with red peppers

lunch: smoothie

dinner: beef and mixed vegetables

snack: yogurt and walnuts

Lots of water and licorice tea.

Judy, hope you had a great time at your party. I think dancing is such a
wonderful form of exercise! I don't know why I don't do it. Thanks for reminding me.

Julie, I'm so sorry about your troubles with your husband. Relationships are supposed to be the most difficult of the spiritual paths. They are such an in-your-face example of powerlessness. You are always in my prayers.
Way to go with the weight loss. You too, Carol.

Thanks for being here.

Quick stop in having friends in for dinner tonight. Well I made it to the workout and only did 40 min. but a good solid one, sweat trophies and all. I like knowing the workout is really worth it. I just got to this pt. recently.
I had that cute little grandaughter who wanted pizza so I slipped up a bit on lunch. Rollmdl I recently tried the walnuts in my yogurt it was great. Crunchy and tasted like a treat. I have purchased 10 yogurts for this weeks treats. With friends coming they wanted to bring dessert but I said I would do something. Well I made apple crisp and will put some ice cream on theirs and the hubbies mine I will put in a little purex 1/2 cup glass with a bit of whipped lite cream. Not a biggy. I did make a tough choice today. I stopped at the bakery and bought only 6 treats and no extras for me. I gave the hubby and my daughters family the rest. Well gotta go the steaks need to go on the grill soon. I also am grilling out on a 33 degree day! I have planned baked potatoes lite sour cream, salad w/ good homemade dressing, broccoli and steak. I will try to stay away from the bread a friend is bringing. Well take care everyone and keep up the good work . Oh weekends aren't so easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default Good Morning

Hi all,

Just a quick check in. It's sign up day for my daughter's swim team. There are 200 swimmers on her team. It's huge. There's a big pool party and I have to committ to 6 volunteer days, It's hectic and I don't look forward to the madhouse.

I've already had breakfast: Go lean Kashi and 1% milk.

Lunch will be egg salad (made with caraway seeds) on wheat toast

dinner: beef curry and lots of vegetables

snack : pineapple smoothie

My doctor thinks I should join weight watchers but I don't want to go to yet another meeting. I'll think on it. I like our board and you all for support.
This works I just have to be more consistant in posting.

I have to go to the Y today to update my debit card so I guess I'll work out while I'm there.

Better get going.

Thanks for being here,

Roll

Oh girls sunday wasn't a good day not to bore you all but wow! My friend is bringing up a 16 yr. old son whom has given her a real run for her money. She called for my support and I spent 3 hours over there. When I was done I wanted to eat everything talk about emotional eating!!!!!!!!! Oh my but I did catch myself towards the end of the day and drink 2 big glasses of ice water and came down to reality. I better not do that again my hard efforts will go down the drain from earlier on.
Rollmdl your doing a wonderful job parenting and those efforts and extras will pay off. Keeping kids busy and helping keeps you involved in whats happening in their lifes smart move. So when you get tired just remember it will pay off in the end. I did alot of things with my kids and I think it did make the difference they weren't perfect but just teenagers, no real big issues. Your doing good with your intakes and thumbs up for going to workout. Eat less move more , but eat healthy.
Julie glad to hear things are moving in the right direction with the hubby. Men are so different than us thats a big problem. They don't hink the way we do. When you try to talk about something they generally clam up. In counseling years ago the guy said to me that when an argument is over the man is ready to never talk about it again. Us ladies now we like to talk and see why it happened, what we can do to fix it etc. Men are from Mars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well good luck. Your intake was much better than mine yesterday but today is another day and I am going to workout and eat healthy.
Intake: multi grain eng. muffin w/ canola little! 1 tangerine
Snack: yogurt
Lunch: broccoli soup, spinach salad w/ orange slices, walnuts, mushrooms w/ wine vinegar and olive oil spices.
Dinner: chicken w/ garlic, cajun spices, peppers, onions and rice
Snack: ?

Lightbulb Good Morning

Thanks about the fruit suggestion, Julie. I stopped eating fruit, pretty much, when I was doing the low carb high protein diet. I'm not doing that now but I've gotten out of the habit of considering fruit as a choice. Not such a good move. I have noticed that when I eat it alone, it's fine and good, but when I eat it with most protein foods, I get gas. Lovely. Happy to share that with you.

I'll make a concerted effort to eat fruit as a snack.

I'm happy to say that I did drag myself to the gym at about 4 pm yesterday for a short, easy, workout and got up this morning to do the 9 am water aerobics class. I listened to the soundtrack to "Bridget Jones' Diary" for motivation while lifting weights. It works. It felt self indulgent.

Julie, I'm so glad that things are going better for you and your husband.
Carol, thanks for the support with my parenting duties. I't really rewarding and fun and sometimes taxing. Sometimes I don't want to "show up" but I usually take care of business. I just wasn't in the mood for a mob scene yesterday but, luckily, my daughter wanted to cut it short so she could go to her "girlband" practice and then rollerskating---------without me = gym time for me.

Well, I've got a busy day ahead of me. I bought 1/4 cow so I have to clean the freezer out today.

Food plan:

breakfast: egg salad on wheat bread

Lunch: pineapple smoothie

lunch: steak salad (mexican style)

Snack: some piece of fruit, I don't know what kind yet.

I weighed myself this morning.
I weigh 167.8.

Love to you all,

Roll

hi--stealing a moment here to check in and say hello! My weekend was a bit indulgent, and I enjoyed the heck out of it. Saturday I went to the gym, went to a seminar hosted by the folks running the local Avon walk-athon to raise money to fight breast cancer, and went to a friend's party. I ate very lightly all day, and didn't do too much damage at the party. Sunday was one of those days that makes me appreciate being single--I spent most of it in bed, dozing, reading and chatting on the phone. Ah, it was heavenly.

Today I've eaten on program, except for half a cookie this afternoon (no evening snack for me!). Although winter hasn't totally left, it's tantalizingly spring-like today, and I'm very excited about the good weather ahead.

Julie--I hope that you are having a wonderful day! It was so nice to hear about your progress on the home front. And I agree with you about learning to enjoy things in moderation. I can't cut out food altogether, like cigarettes, so I have to make my peace with it.

Carol--you sound like you were being a very good friend yesterday! It's hard sometimes not to absorb someone else's pain, especially if it's someone you feel very close to. I really admire counselors and other people who can sit with someone else's pain with an open heart, and not want to run to the refrigerator or bar immediately afterward! Carol, it sounds like you didn't go very far off track, not much harm was done.

Roll--I hope things are going well for you! A Quarter of a Cow ! That's a lot of beef.I love reading your menus, they sound so tasty!

Tired--I'm so sorry to hear about your computer. Maybe there's a library or something close by where you can go and check in without a big hassle.

Today is gym day. At Curves they check your weight and measurements for you every month or so if you want, so on Saturday I learned that I lost 5 inches and 6.5 pounds since 1/24. It's not a scorching pace, but I'll take it.

Make good choices, everybody.

Thank you everyone for your kind words for sundays off beat day! That was thoughtful of all of you. She is a good friend and has helped me in the past.
We are planning a girls weekend in May to Toronto Canada. It will be lots of fun better start saving I guess. Its only about 4.5 hrs away and a beautiful place lots to do and see. We have gone a few years back and stay at a place where we can walk to many things.
Yesterday I jumped right back on track and felt good about that. I went to the gym after work its finally feeling like a regular routine. Just get in the car and know where your off to no second thoughts about doing something else instead. I hope that thought stays with me. I couldn't get on the newer treadmills so started my workout w/ wt. resistants instead. Wow that was different! I did a varied amount of wts. any where from 60lbs. to 95 depending on the actvity. It felt good but some were hard I admit. In the end I ended up with a treadmill of my choice and worked out only 15min. but it felt good much harder to do in the end though. I know its best to do that 1st. but the gym was crowded. Today we have snow again and the roads are slick. I am going to come home a bit early and take an hour of time I think. I am not going to work out today but come home and sew.
Tiredoffat hey this site seems to be a bit faster these days maybe it was the site. Ck it out! We miss your wisdom and visits.
Judy sounds like you had a good time and good for you losing wt. I lost my measurements now I have to start all over again. I kept them posted in my bathroom closet they must of fell and got shot out. yOUR EATING LOOKS GOOD.
Hey Roll send a steak this way! When we had everyone home we used to get more meat. It is so good! Your doing great keep up the good efforts and the payoffs will be coming up thats for sure.
Julie your pumpkin soup sounds so good. You give yourself a lot of variety in your diet. I try to do that as well then I don't feel so deprived of things. Good job!
Stayed to food plan yesterday!
Today: 1 multi gr. eng. muffin w/ canola marg little
1/2 banana
Snack: yogurt w/ 2 T. walnuts oh so good!
Lunch: chicken cubed cajan, fresh spinach leaves, mushrooms, almond slivers, tangerine pieces, red onion diced and oj and balsamic vinegar for dressing w/ garlic seasonings.
Dinner: ? to be decided later on.
Snack 1 apple

Lightbulb quick check in

Hi everybody,

I really don't have time to post but I can't afford not to, if you know
what I mean. I've got to get my daughter to her piano lesson--it's 1/2 hour away.

Breakfast: Kashi and 1% milk

lunch: chinese restaurant (yes, all the food in one restaurant)

dinner: beef vegetable stew---mexican

snack: find fruit

I really want to connect with you all AND I don't have time right now.
Just wanted to touch base.

Love,

Roll
