Hi Carol,

I had an extra busy day today, just got home. Fairly good eating day - a little high at 1600 due to the two energy bars I ate - one at 10 and one at 5, better than eating all the cookies though. No exercise today, just lots of work - good work though, work I'm glad I did. Had the leftover chili that I made last night for dinner - it was so, so good - lots and lots of veggies and bulghur which gave it a nice consistency. Low cal too.

Like you, I hope to get up early tomorrow and head to the gym for some exercise. I'll go to bed early tonight. Tomorrow my husband is going to be gone from early in the am until late a night, so it will be an extra busy day. Take care. Glad you're here. I'm also glad that you're feeling better.

Default Herbal Life Midweek (3rd)

Hi, Ladies:

I really fell off today, too much fat in my unbalanced diet.

I had no breakfast except coffee,
For lunch I had a quesadilla with lowfat cheese and water
For a snack I had a venti non-fat latte (200 cal) and a slice of lemon loaf
I had a late dinner with friends at 7:30: huevos rancheros, I ate a few spoons of rice, but I tried not to eat it all, and Horchata (sweet rice water).

Next time I go out, I am going the sushi way, rather than mexican food. I gained 2 pounds tonight so I am at 160 from 158. I am going to do the herbalife shake tomorrow morning to get myself going again.

I almost don't want to post so as not to bring you girls down. I also feel like I haven't been able to rest well since Saturday night not to mention my line of work wears me out sometimes (HR Manager). I am so tired. It's 10:35 pm and I just got home about an hour ago so I am going to bed.

Sorry I am not so cheerful today ladies, but it seems like you too are doing well. cacmsc, I am glad you are feeling better and I like your diet today. If you want to slim down the cals use 1% versus 2% and you'll see the difference. Tiredoffat my goal is 130-135 lbs. so I have to lose about 30 lbs. The doctor told me to definitely lose 20 lbs.

I am going to take a 10 lb challenge and go low enough so I can get into at least the mid 150s within a week. We'll see. Needless to say I didn't make my appointment to weigh in. I appreciate my aunt because she called me tonight despite my cancellation to keep me motivated. I definitely see her tomorrow.

Good night! I kind of feel better just writing to you all, and I too am glad that both of you are here and have been so kind.

Hello girls, glad you both stopped in, sometimes its really hard. But when I don't, I fall off the wagon and hit my head until I finally get back up and see the little light the end of the tunnel. Kind of queer but true.
Today I am feeling a bit of a headache the sinus problem I am sure. So its taking a bit to kick this one. But I will!
I have to take my grandson to church tonight as my daughter has to take the girls to Daisies. Such a busy life. So I am going to go right after work to exercise. Some is better than none. Olga thanks for the milk idea. Changing our lifestyles and being healthier is a learning experience and knowing when we could of made a better choice for the day is part of the process. So don't feel badly on this site we support each other. I feel you can write anything you want. Also its when I don't check in that trouble starts. I guess I have been reading too much lately. But it helps keep me on track and motivated. At least we are making changes and that is a great sign. Jobs also can be stressful and emotions for me lead to poor food choices and no exercise. I am a Service Coordinator for Mentally ******ed Individuals and it can be stressful making sure things are going well etc.... Lots of resources but lack of services available due to population etc................. So good luck and hang in there. Don't forget to eat breakfast its an important meal even if its a breakfast bar it would be better.
Intake planned: Breakfast: Kashi cereal crunch 250 w/ milk
Snack; 1 apple lg. 100
Lunch: 1/2 whole wheat pita 60 cal. roasted chicken br. 100? cherry tomatoes, grated garlic cheese 50, leafy greens 0 Total= 210 , little dressing 60 cal.
1 yogurt 100 cal.
Snack: 1 cup popcorn 80 cal.
Dinner: 1 little chicken leg roasted, 2 thin slices ham, 1 piece of cheese ? cal appox. 400 cal.? 1 banana 100 cal.
Snack ; almonds 120 cal.
1450 in cal's no more today! ice water later on. I have been doing better with the water lately.
Have a great day everyone. Measuring things like my cereal seems to help s I don't put extras in that I am not aware of.
Carol

Hi Olga and Carol, good to hear from you. The day started great with a new low of 170.8 so I'm almost at the 50lb loss place - just .8 to go! I also had a great workout - 45 min on the eliptical, hills #10 - tough but invigorating. The day then went downhill with a really tough school day - like both of you I work with people all day and it's hard to please everyone and know exactly how to help every child stay on track, stay positive and learn. Yes, my first reaction to the day was to want to devore anything and everything in sight, but I stayed the course and came in close to my 1500 limit. Also my husband had both am and pm meetings which means I have to do all the care and transitions today - that's hard, but it went well. My reward at the end of the day - writing to you and sharing all this. Thanks for listening.

I've brought a bag of healthy food to work to add to my daily salad. I stopped getting the cafe turkey and bring my own additions - tastier and healthier.

I've been drinking lots of decaf teas thanks to everyone's suggestion - a nice calming drink.

I've also been planning ahead so that my weekly cals average 150 - I'm going out Sat. night so I'm trying to fit in an extra exercise day to make up for it as I'm going to allow myself a no rules dinner that night (but not a pig out!).

Hope you're all doing well. Take care.

Default Herbal Life Midweek (3rd) Part 2

Hello Ladies:

Thanks for the input to my gloomy day yesterday. I am happier today, the body is such a miraculous thing; I went for my weekly weigh in tonight. I weighed in at 162 lbs, a pound higher but I am not worried because "Aunt Emma is in town for her monthly visit" if you know what I mean. I did lose 1/2" of chest, 1.5" of waist, with arms, thigh and hips staying the same. My aunt said she usually sees the upper body losing inches first. How sad, I would like to keep my chest and lose the hips.

Today I skipped breakfast ( a no-no, I know), and had coffee 50 cal. So I set myself up tonight to get back on track tomorrow morning. I am going to add in the Herbalife again for a week to get my weight down.

I had sushi for lunch and allowed myself to eat enough rolls to make up the calories I didn't consume this morning; about 75-80 calories per roll. 80*8=640, plus plenty of green tea.

Snack= coffee 50

Tonight I had cereal and 1% milk = 300, plus pink grapefruit juice = 100 cals.

I will speak with you all tomorrow.

Olga

Tiredoffat your doing wonderful the 50lbs. is a real accomplishment. You must be so pleased with yourself. It sounds like your preplanning for your evening out and thats a good idea. Sometimes just eating a good breakfast, lunch and fit in something crunchy like carrots and celery will help. Also remember to eat some fiber it keeps you full longer and then you can save the cals for your dinner out. Have fun you deserve it. I liked your idea of the saturday wt. day it does make me more aware of my intakes for friday. Before when I would reach the weekend I ate extras. At least it has me thinking. I also am going to do my measurements again its been a while but I kept them on some paper in the bathroom closet. I feel like I am in more control these days.I plan on going to the gym after work.
Olga glad your feeling a bit more up today. Sometimes we just get in a slump. Its life and we do get over it. The diet sounds like its working for you. You and that skipping breakfast! Maybe your like my daughter she doesn't like breakfast until late in the morning. Me I am up early and have to eat something unless I am busy and delay for a bit. Your wt. isn't bad and at that time of month I always had water wt. Oh now I haven't had that excuse in a few months and don't miss it either. Oh my latest find for having a snack which is healthy, and crunchy is Kashi crunch cereal dry. I measure 1/2 cup and eat it like it was chips. Crazy but it fits in and is healthy. I am going to make some muffins or banana bread this weekend using whole wheat flour etc. We will see how it comes out. My day isn't really planned as I am going out for lunch today and grocery shopping later on. So I will edit later on. Have a super day. We are all going to look great this spring. My books came in at the library Dr. Phil and South Beach cookbook good things to read I think. I will share any interesting stuff.
Intake: 1 banana, oatmeal reg. ,appox.300 cal.

Hi Carol and Olga,

I'm stressed this afternoon - ready to jump out of my skin. I love children but I haven't had a break in quite a while - I need a few hours of grownup time. I think I'll get a break tonight and go for a needed workout. I've been having a hard time sticking to the 1500 the past two days. I've edged up just a bit to 1600, but some of it has been stress eating. I'm trying to learn not to do that. The food choices have been healthy however.

Olga, sounds like your Thursday went well with good choices. Carol seems like you are making some great exchanges such as healthy Kashi for chips - for me, that seems like the way to go - find alternative foods and/or activities to fufill old cravings. I also have to look at ways to pace my days with greater peace so I'm not stressed like this in the afternoon.

Tomorrow I'm going skiing with my son and his friend. I hope it goes well. I'm looking forward to the beauty of the mountain which I like most of all. That change of scenery might be nice. Take care all. I'll write again later this weekend - perhaps tomorrow. For some reason, I need the support more than ever, I'm just dying to eat, eat, eat but I won't because I want more than that to be able to wear some pretty spring clothes and to have fun in a new bathing suit at the beach this summer!!!!! Thanks for being here I couldn't do it without you.

Sorry to have gone AWOL so soon after jumping in! I forgot how to find you, then I got sick Feeling much better now. In a nutshell, I've been Eating Per Plan all week, although not working out much. But hte weight is continuing to creep downward, so I won't complain. I'll check back in when I have more time over the weekend.

Julie glad you stopped in and keep up the good intakes. Have a good weekend.
Tiredoffat our changes aren't easy and they have been with us a long time. Breaking habits and changing our ways it takes a lot. I think you need to give yourself some credit just look at how you might of eaten a year ago. How much exercise were you doing? What was your wt.? You have accomplished a lot. I get out of wack to yesterday my intake wasn't great but it was still better choices than I used to make. I went out for lunch with the girls and we had chinese. I did eat extra veggies, didn't eat that whole egg roll only the stuffing, less fried etc. But I still went over what I should of had. Then had almonds for a snack, pizza w/ veggies for dinner. But at least I didn't chow down on any other snack foods or chips last night. So I made some better choices not on my so called plan but thats okay. Today will be tricky as I am going to eat chinese again with my sister in law. But this time we are going to choose off the menu not the buffet. That will be better for me I am sure. Last nights dinner I would of gotten seafood to have for dinner but thought the hubby would like pizza. He ate 1 piece I had two.. Its a hard battle. But I think we are making better choices and over all its geting better. When your stressed its hard try to each something with some fiber as it will keep you fuller longer. Try your cup of tea. I am going to get my books at the library today we will have some new ideas to try.
Today I am going with my sister in law to the craft show folk art. Then to lunch and I hope to get to the gym. Have fun with your son! Thats great exercise. I'll edit later on .
Intake today: Kashi cereal w/ skim milk
coffee

Only down .5 but I guess better than nothing. Least I got on the scale. I will do my measurements on sunday. This will make me go to the gym today!
Intake; Out to lunch chicken chowmein only ate 1/2, 1/2 brown rice few fried noodles , bad thing was the egg roll but it wasn't too greasy and lots of veggies at least inside. We are planning on dinner out with friends again this will be a challenge. I am not sure what I will order but I will at least ask for my dressing on the side and only dip. Maybe I will order a steak its been awhile? At any rate eating out is always a challenge.

Hi all. Carol, great to hear that you are down .5. Every bit counts. When you loose it slowly it tends to stay off I've heard. Eating out is hard. I got home early from the ski trip. We had a lot of fun, but we all got really tired out so rather than push it we left mid afternoon. We were among the first there this morning at 7:30.

Stuck with healthy food - really hungry so I ate some extra but like you said at least I wasn't eating what I would have eaten last year like fries, fried food, candy, etc. We're getting there. Thanks for the encouragement Enjoy the craft show and dinner. It's nice to spend time with friends - I so cherish weekend time. Take care.

Hi ladies!

I don't know how long it has been, but wedding planning can just take over one's life, ya know?

I haven't done much lately for my weight, but I have been eating better (or at least attempting to). I actually haven't even weighed myself for the last couple months.

We are now TTC, so I am not going to do any serious dieting, but I do want to see if I can't lose a couple pounds before we have a bun in the oven (if we don't right now that is) and I will be trying to keep my weight gain during prenancy within norms...

I will try to read back a bit and catch up on everything!!!

Just a quick note to say that I'm feeling much better, even made it to the gym yesterday and have been running around being social all weekend. Yesterday I ate very weirdly, because of dashing back and forth, but still managed to Eat Per Plan, except for being a good guest at a friend's house for dinner, where I ate (and throughly enjoyed) a spoonful of potato salad, and was able to dodge dessert. Today, alas, I ate a huge brunch, so no indulgences for me during the Super Bowl! I'll have water and a protein shake and like it!
