Howdy, howdy, hey, hey, hey ...
Hey Girlies~
Just wanted to drop in and say hello. We just finished up lunch so the boys will be going down for quiet time soon. Hubby is going in two hours late today so I may go out and walk at the track during quiet time instead of doing pilates. Granted it's probably about 102 outside so pilates my win out. :D Chat was great. You ladies make me giggle. It was nice to "meet" Geri and Kristin and to chat with Michelle and Spryng. Spryng those afagans are beautiful. I can chain stitch...lol, pitiful. I'm one of those that really wants to do that kind of stuff, but totally hates the actually learning process...which means I learn the chain stitich then get frustrated that i'm not crocheting up beautiful blankets. Hello to all you other ladies too...welcome to Stacey, I'm new too. :) I promise one of those post where I address everyone, soon, well as soon as I sort yall out and actually remember who said what. ;) Ok, gotta run and refill my water...more later chicas  |
hello,
Hope everyone is having a great day. If anyone is going to be at chat tonight, let me know. I can stay up late this week since dh is home. I got my workouts in. Had to go to wal mart this moring, but I usually go to wal mart twice a week. We had to start buying school supplies for Eric. They are on sale now, so we are stocking up in case we need to replace some later in the year. Sounds like everyone is doing good. No, I still haven't go my ww stuff, and yes I ordered it off ebay. Maybe it will be here today. |
Omg!!
I can't believe I left for half a day and you went through two threads! That's completely amazing. I was having trouble accessing the internet, so I couldn't post last night or this morning. Am having a good day. Liam went for his 9 month check up and all is well. 20lbs and 28 inches. Of course, the way Liam acted, you'd think I betrayed the poor guy. He dislikes the doctor and screams the whole time.
First, Melissa- thank you soooo much for the clothes - they're adorable! I got them yesterday and will put them to good use. Have fun at the beach. Cheri - congrats on getting a workout in! Way to go :) CHildren do seem to go through clothes very quickly. Spryng- the bracelet is beautiful!! So is the blanket - I think you should sell stuff on ebay. And Tanner is such a cutie!!!! Michelle- I'll definitely post a few pics once the room is all done, but it won't be for about a month :D Did you get the shopping done? Kristin- so I'm sending TOM over to you, then? I'm so relieved he's here because my insane cravings are gone. How is Flylady going? I'm glad you're enjoying WW. Angel- it's good you weighed yourself so you at least have a starting point. It will feel so good when you see the number decrease :) Crystal- Wow, you were up early - get thee to a nap! Ricci- Hi! Hope you're enjoying having DH home. Welcome Stacy! I'm in Atlanta :) I'm Leigh, SAHM to a nine month old son named Liam. I'm also in the process of losing my pregnancy weight plus 10 lbs. I look forward to getting to know you. Geri- I'm glad you had such a great day yesterday- hope today treats you the same. Though, cleaning doesn't sound like a whole lotta fun to me! Penny- I didn't know your dream was to teach- would you like to teach elementary or older? About the weight - it sounds like you have a plan for dealing with the gain, so good for you. Sometimes a change in plan or exercise helps remotivate our spirits :) Cindi- TOM is here with me too! I'm glad because my appetite is normal again. I found a shower curtain I love, BTW . . . I'm excited :) Okay, gotta change Liam's diaper - always an adventure these days with his acrobatics. Penny- when I return I'll answer your points question - |
Hey Cheri and Ricci- I guess I was writing my post while you gals posted. Hi to you both!
Cheri- sounds like you're doing really well with keeping active. Ricci- can't wait until your WW stuff arrives :) |
Hi again!
Ok Michelle, I downloaded those programs you told me about, the spybot and the ad-aware. Well the spybot found lots of crap on the computer (over 250 things) and got rid of it and the ad-ware found 115 things, I also downloaded a registry mechanic and it found 115 erros on my hard drive but since it was a free version it only fixed the first 6 of them, ugh. I don't want to pay 30 bucks for the full verison. But my computer does seem to be running a little faster (crossing fingers) so we'll see. Thanks so much for telling me about those programs! Geri, I can try to take a pic of the pattern but since the pages are glossy it may have a glare. I could always type it out, lol. But that would take time! LOL. Do you crochet? I know what you mean about grocery shopping with the kids. I always say a small prayer before going and hope the kids act right. There is usually alot of bribing going on, lol. But I don't want to pay my SIL 50 bucks to watch them. lol. I'm cheap! Oh Penny STOP! LOL.. you are making me blush! I am NOT talented! I've only been crocheting for a couple months remember? these are easy patterns. But someday I would love to get into really intricate ones and make a twin size blanket for each of the kids beds and dh wants an afghan for his truck. I'm just not ready to commit to a project that large yet. Baby blankets work up much faster, lol. So what does you schedule look like?? Cindi, I wish TOM would hit me early this time around here. I'm due to start the day after I leave with dh... will not make for a romantic trip, lol. But at least we'll be together! I'm ok with that And a chat during the day sounds fine to me. My kids nap between 1 pm and 3 pm... so maybe around there sometime? I won't be chatting today though, I'm still tired from last night and I'm ready for my nap !LOL. Kristin, I think 2 more kids is great! We may want one more someday too... but not for at least 4 years, lol. 3 is enough for right now. I don't even remember what life without diapers is like, by the time Tanner is potty trained I'd have been changing diapers for almost 6 years solid!! eeks! That's just wrong, lol. well I started this post a couple hours ago, lol.. just finished it, lets see who has posted since I started this. |
ok, I posted the last post on the other thread, lol.. then I saw a new thread had been started so I pasted the above post here... now I can get personal on this thread :)
Penny, looks like you've had 12 pts so far. 4 for breakfast, 1 for orange juice, and 7 for lunch right? so you are right on, 12 pts. :) And you dont have to divvy your pts up perfectly. Which meal of the day do you like the biggest meal to be? For me that is dinner, I love a big dinner so I save most of my pts for dinner. So for me I have a 3 pt breakfast, a 6-7 pt lunch and then at least 10 pts for dinner. If I have a really high pt dinner (like that chili will be) I'll either cut out breakfast or have a small lunch with some 0 pt veggies to tide me over. But you will find your groove, hang in there! Leigh, wow everyone seems to be having internet or computer issues lately. I hope it clears up for you! I've never thought of selling anything on ebay but I think those bracelets would do well, that other seller wants way too much for hers, i could sell some for 5 bucks each with actual shipping and make lots of money. I just don't know if I could make time to create each bracelet. I'm not an on command kinda girl. I like knowing I have no deadlines, lol. But i would make them for you all! :) What kind of shower curtain did you find? Is it safari themed too? I can't wait to see pics! Ricci, how are you liking your new workout video?? I'm really thinking about buying that one. But not right now. Cheri, I was like that when I started crocheting too. I wanted to create something spectacular! lol... the yellow blanket I posted is actually very very simple and just looks more intricate. It worked up so fast and my new one looks hard but it's only a couple stitches... single crochet, chains, double crochet, cluster, and that is about it. So it's easy. Well lunch for me was leftover cashew chicken. It was great re-heated. I want to make that for dh soon. he'd really like it. But my day is moving right along. Kids have been doing great with their chore list! Bubba is the one who is hard to motivate to clean so he only has 2 stars so far but he's understanding more and more as he sees Ava's stars adding up. She has 6! Their first treat is when they hit 10 stars. She is so excited. But my living room and their rooms are staying spotless because of it, lol. So I got my dishes done finally... all I really need to work on today is laundry. I need to get all the clean clothes folded and put away so that when I start packing for myself and the kids this weekend everything will be easy to find. I can't believe how close it is! well, I'm off for a nap. TTYL! |
Hey Spryng! It looks like your motivation chart is working very well for you. The shower curtain I found is safari themed as well. Now the bathroom will tie in with the bedroom :) I'm a little obsessive about these things. I'll probably have the bathroom done before the bedroom only because we have to wait for the bedroom furniture to arrive.
Have you been using your bracelet today? I'm not sure what I'm doing for dinner yet. I mean, I'm making chili for DH, but I may need to have only a tiny portion because I ate a high point lunch. |
omg!!! I leave for a few hours to do my shopping and you motormouths talk so much theres like a million posts!! ;) lmao You know I love ya all!!
Spryng - I just had a Morning star Farms fajita burger they are delicious!!!! I think I'm in love!! Glad the programs worked for you!! Penny - How is your day on ww going? How bout the organization? Cheri hope you are having a great day!! Leigh can't wait for the pics!! So sorry you were having internet probs :( Kristin, hows your day so far? Ricci, I went to walmart today too and there were tons of people school shopping it was nuts!! Geri, potty training sure is frustrating!! I dont knwo what was up with my puter last night but I almost threw it out the window lol. So I got all my shopping done and I got Taylor about 40 potty presents. I'm wrapping all of them, and when she goes potty on the toilet she gets to pick a present out of "The Present Box" I'm hoping this works to motivate her. All the presents were little things most under a dollar. Ball, notebook, paddleball, crayons, markers, dress up shoes, stuff like that! Anyway I'm gonna take a nap before I have to go to work! Love to all I hope I didn't miss anyone if I did I'm sorry I'm just in a hurry! Michelle |
Okay girls, I got a measley 30 minute snooze in and that doesn't count for the being awake at 330 and up at 500 so I'll go to bed early tonight. I got groceries bought and now I've got to get them put away, I hate this part.
Spryng, I won't have a shower with this one, being my 4th. I had one with Andrew and 3 with Alisa and I don't remember about Ally, I don't think so. But I haven't kept anything. I never wanted to. But my FIL and his wife had a little bitty girl in April so if I have a girl, it will be much bigger than theirs, they will give me alot of that stuff. I have NO clothes, at all what so ever, I'll figure something out. Okay, I've got to get these groceries put away. |
Hey ladies - I see lately that lots of you are having computer problems lately...my MIL has a masters in Computer technology, so, I know a little, but if there is anything wierd going on, maybe I can retrieve an answer real quick for you, I could just email her at work! :D Something that I do about once a month, is to "defrag" my computer, it gets it running A LOT more efficiently..it does take some time though, I usually run it before bed and let it do its thing over night. Go to your start button if you run windows......and from there click on programs, then accessories, then system tools, then disk defragmenter. It compresses old files and computer lingo that is loaded on your PC everyday, etc. It will help alot, but if you have never done it before, it will take a while! If you start doing that once a month, it will keep it updated pretty well. Also another thing that she always tells me to do, is to go to microsoft and download the "updates" for your windows system......that will keep it current too, and reduce the risk of needing a new computer every dang year to keep up with everything!
:soap: okay I am done now, lol! THere are lots of things that you can do, if anyone wants any other hints, let me know! :o well i am working on my computer spreadsheets, etc, for my new organization venture! So, I will check back and refresh my screen in a few! :) TTYL ! |
Michelle- those MSF fajita burgers sound good - I'll have to check them out next time I'm at the store. The potty present idea is a good one! Has she responded to it at all yet? Hope you have a good time at work :)
Crystal- sounds like you could use some baby clothes. We should have a shower-by-mail for you :D That would be fun! What do you think, gals??? Hope you somehow end up getting some rest. Kristin- hi! Thanks for the suggestions for computer help. We have wireless and every so often it goes berzerk. Weird! The rest of the time I love it because I can be wherever Liam is. I have to figure out where/when to take some new pics of Liam. He's nine months tomorrow, so I like to have pictures of him at every month. I'll come up with something and then maybe post one or two for ya'll. |
hey there Michelle, you snuck in on me! :) I am good, busy I guess, getting my life organized, I would love to chat again soon! :D Doing some Compuer work now before I go start dinner!
Crystal - sheesh girl, you need to take it easy, I bet you are so tired, how is the barley green working for you? |
hey leigh -you snuck in too! ;) love ya!
Michelle - re: potty training, you know what finally did it for Sydney....along with rewards, like you are doing.....i let her run around with a long dress on and nothing else. she didn;t want to pee on the floor, or feel it run down her leg, so after peeing on the floor only ONE time, she started to go upstairs and go on the toilet when she felt like peeing...also another benefit of the "no panties" program, (lmao) was that it was easier for her to get up there and go, before peeing on herself! and saved me laundry loads of peed on underwear! okay once again I am stepping down :soap: lol ! |
Kristin, the barley green is really helping. I started with 7 a day but only felt like myself, not extra so I started taking 10 a day yesterday, that will take a day or so to set in. It's all totally natural, just like eating lots and lots of veggies: broccoli, carrots, calcium itself and a ton more. I can tell I'm alot more energetic, even with the lack of sleep, I'm still go, go, go. I do try to rest at least once throughout the day.
I still haven't gotten back to counting calories and such but I will, I promise. That's what all of you are here for so I will do it. Leigh, that is a very nice gesture, but I do NOT want any of you to go out of your way or spend $ or anything like that. Your support and care is great. I enjoy having you all to tell all my baby things to. My appts. and so on. Thank you. Well, I got groceries put away, the grapes, red and green off the vines and the cantaloupe cut up for a fruit bowl with dinner. My kitchen is clean, sheets in the wash and a pie in the oven. I'll start dinner about 5 or so. Hope you all are having a great day. I'll check in later. |
Hi all!
Boy I feel refreshed... got a 2 hr nap in, Tanner ended up sleeping 3 hrs! I was dead, lol. Now dinner is in the oven and smelling so good! Crystal, I'm so glad that the barely is working for you. Are you showing now? We love to hear all about your pregnancy too! We can live vicariously through you :) Leigh, I think a mail baby shower is a great idea!! count me in! But lets wait until she knows what she is having ok? And yes, I have been using the bracelet, lol. I find myself not writing anything down now.. Maybe I should take it off until I leave lol... but I like it!! Kristin, I do run my defrag every night, part of my nightly maintainance thing, my computer problem is this... the defrag runs fine but I can't get my scan disk to work very well. It starts scanning and after a few seconds freezes up and has to be shut down. I have WIN 98 and use netscape if any of that helps you. I've tried running it from DOS and everything and it just won't work. Michelle I haven't tried those fajita ones, I've seen them though, I thought they may taste too bell pepperish... do they? Let us know how the potty training and presents go! Well there is the timer! Dinner is done. TTYL! |
Hi gals! Well, ended up using 7 flexpoints today, which is fine :) I did not work out today, though - had no time! We went to vote and then DH decided we should go to the mall and get a gift for a wedding we're going to this weekend - the couple is registered at Crate and Barrel. He's going to NY tomorrow and returns Thursday evening. Today ended up being a busier day than I thought!
Crystal- it's good that the barley is working for you :) Spryng- was dinner as good as it smelled? Hope so! TTYL. |
Hey Ladies....
I am still so confused about the ww stuff, so I am going to try the ww board for some answers. Leigh, I notice you are getting close to your spa reward. Are you going to schedule it?? I would love to see some new pictures of Liam. Get moving on the scrapbooking! Spryng, Glad you got in a good nap. That is always nice. Glad you are loving your bracelet. Michelle, Don't work too hard at work tonight. I love the idea of the potty rewards. :) Hope Taylor has great success! Kristen, Thanks for all the puter advice. I usually delete temp files and defrag and run virus checks and mine is still messing up..... grrr.... Glad you are doing great w/ the organization. Thats great! Crystal, Email me your addy please. But I'm not telling you what for :) NANANA! LOL  Cheri, Did you get your exercise in??? Ricci, Did your ww stuff come in today? I sure hope so! :) Well I am gonna get off here and try to figure out my points for supper. See you tomorrow |
Evening ladies :D
I'm feeling mad at myself I can't stick to a healthy eating plan long enough to give my body a chance to loose weight.Yes I was OP today and I did get in my exercise. But at night is so hard for me especially since I quit smoking.I have'ng craved cigrettes or anything.I just feel like its time for some relaxing and enjoyment for me after being mommy during the day.And the way I like to do it is to fix something with chocolate, Like tonight I had a milkshake then I ate my daughter wafflecone which was dipped in chocolate because I can stand to waste food and she didn't want it.Now that the kids are in bed I'm having hot chocolate with grahm crackers.I've got to find something else to do that is relaxing in the evenings besides eating.I JUST LOVE FOOD AND I LOVE TO EAT.I'm sure everyone does.If anyone has any suggestions on how to enjoy theirselves without eating let me know. Thanks :D Sorry if I sound down in the dumps, but i'm just frustrated with myself and why I can't control my evening cravings. :dizzy: Penny :Good Luck on your WW journey.I don't think I have enough discipline for myself to use a point system. ya'll have a good night I might check back in later.I don't think i'll get much sleep tonight.I hate being tired and not being able to sleep.ttyl |
Good evening all!
Dinner was ok. It needed something though, not sure what... but it was filling. The kids did not like it, lol. Usually how that works. Angel, don't be so hard on yourself. It's all about baby steps... the old you didn't get over weight over night theory, well it's true and it takes time and patience to get the weight back off. Can you think of a time in your life when you were a comfortable weight? what did you do in the evening then? read? exercise? had a hobby? My only advice for late night eating would be to shut your kitchen down. After dinner clean up the kitchen and turn out all lights, go brush your teeth and find something enjoyable to do with your hands. Pick up a new hobby, check out a really intriguing book from your library or just go to bed early (we can all use the extra sleep) but do something to keep your mind off food. I know you can do it. I've been there too, time and again I'd start a new diet and 2-3 days into it I'd cave and then day after day I'd eat like crazy because I was upset with myself, try again and fail etc... it's a learning process as well as a lifestyle change. Or maybe you can even do like Dr. Phil says, create a no fail enviroment. Stop buying snacks you cave for, like chocolate and such, your kids might miss it at first but let it be a special treat for them instead of in the house all the time, you know? My kids snack on apples and such and yes they get candy but usually only when I'm grocery shopping they can pick out one piece of candy and boy do they look forward to that. We need to teach them good eating habits too. Just a thought. But hang in there! We are here for you! Penny, I'm sorry you are confused about ww still... please feel free to call me anytime you have a question ok!! You still have my number?? If not I'll email it to you again. Did you get your answer on the ww boards? I just love the official ww site and their message boards.. people are very encouraging to talk to and to see how they deal with the program. What did you have for dinner? Leigh, sorry your dh has to leave for a few days. But we are here! Goodness knows I'd go crazy without you all on a daily basis, lol. Well, I'm going to research something online and then get in bed at a decent hour tonight, lol. TTYL! |
Good evening all
Angel...I hear ya sister! I love to munch at night...especially if I try to unwind by having a cocktail :o that seems to lead to eating too! Ummm, try a bubble bath or something that requires you to keep your hands busy. Hope that helps! Spryng..TOM always seems to be showing up at the same time as Dh lately! That yellow blanket sure doesn't look easy. Yes, I crochet but haven't made anything large in awhile. I crocheted myself a scarf a couple of months ago. I should have used it down here last night  (jk). BTW, I freeze in the grocery store too if I don't wear sleeves. Just me! Penny, I hope you get answers to all of your WW questions. I think alot of times you just have to guestimate your points, and yes, when you make a whole recipe, count the points for the ingredients and then divide by the number of servings. Leigh, a shower by mail does sound like fun. I love to buy baby things! Who am I kidding....I love to buy anything  There was a not too complimentary article in the paper about FNC the other day...something about the uppers being very politically one sided or something. Can't say I watch it enough to be able to agree or disagree. You'll have to let me know when Dh is expected to be on again so I can try to catch him. The safari theme sounds great...can't wait to see it. How long til the furniture comes? Crystal, hope you get some sleep tonight :tired: Kristin...I have a boy that's going to pee all over my carpets if I let him run around naked   :p I just may try it someday soon. When I did the underwear thing he peed in 3 pair in less than 1/2 hour. :( Has anyone tried the new training pants where they supposedly feel that they're wet? Michelle, I love the fajita burgers. I tried the ranch chicken patties and wasn't too thrilled whith them. I had to put my light done right 3 cheese ranch salad dressing on to mask their flavor. Cheri...what did you end up doing for your workout? 102?? It was pretty warm and humid here so about the only thing we did outside was get in the pool...about 3 different times today. Spryng..you said something about you not being a funny person yesterday or earlier today and I forgot to say....SHUT UP! You are too funny! :D OK, not much new here. Went grocery shopping tonight and only bought the meal deal because we're having a party here on the 7th. It was a box of Johnsonville brats for $6 or $7 (I can't remember now) and I had a 75 cent coupon...then you got free hot dog buns, sour kraut (YUK...I'll serve it at the party for anyone who wants it), a package of napkins and an 8 inch cake free. Will loves cake so I told him it was for him :) . I bought the low fat/no cholesterol one so I can have a piece too. Always thinking! Well I hope you all have a great night. Hi to everyone else out there. I'm heading back upstairs. Toodles. |
Hello everyone!!! Today was a rough one… I’m not sure if it’s me that’s being grouchy or not… but me and my sister have been fighting like cats and dogs. Then my hubby wants to come in and tell me something smart and I went off on him too! I don’t get it… If I ask, what do you want for lunch… quesadillas or bar-b-q then why can’t I get an answer! He gotta make things difficult and say which ever one yaw’l don’t eat.. And it doesn’t matter…. My sister on the other hand… I ask her a simple question like… is there a car behind me.. And she get’s an attitude like I’m bothering her! Maybe it’s just me.. My TOM is next week, maybe I have PMS, but I hate when people act dumb! Anyways sorry about that! I didn’t get to exercise today… I ate about 3 tacos from Taco bell, and something else (that I can’t remember) and a dipped cone from Mcdonalds… (that’s when I got pissed off) I figured a dipped cone is better than a double cheeseburger and fries!! I’m still at 142 so that pack of Skittles I had last night hasn’t settled in yet! OH well, my clock is set to 5:30 am.. I gotta get my exercise in!!! Today I didn’t hear my alarm go off at all!! I got my library card today.. But my daughter was acting bad though… I thought about going there to email you all because they have high speed internet.. But if she cuts up like that…. Maybe not!! Anyways the beach, the mall, and the family dollar, and walking around the strand will be in the plans for tomorrow. Wanted to go to Ripley’s aquarium, but no money! Wanted to take her to TX roadhouse for chicken strips.. But no money… so hopefully we can make it through her last day here without fighting. Well I gotta go now.. Talk with you all tomorrow!

Good Morning Ladies
Well hi there. You can see I haven't started back on coffee yet, my icon isn't on here. I know that's better for the baby, but I'm sure I'll get back to it sooner or later.
Let's see... Angel, I am so sorry about your frustration. I have a question, if you don't mind; How did you quit smoking? Was it cold turkey or a long hard process, because our weight battle is a long hard process and if you quit smoking ANY way, you can do the weight thing to. I agree with Geri, keep your hands busy and another one that I actually had to do, don't buy that stuff. I know you want it for your kids, but I would buy them a couple of things that don't tempt me and I would get sugar free cookies, ice cream, popsicles and such and that would be my snack, I even gave them the SF stuff sometimes, it's good for them too. I hope some of this helps, but we are here for you, let us know. Leigh, sorry your dh is going out of town. Think about this, my sister is expecting her 8th child and her dh works out of town, now granted there are times he's home a month at a time but there are times he's gone 2 weeks at a time too. And maybe you haven't been married long enough, but some of these ladies might agree with me that every once in a while, we wish our dh's had to work out of town, LOL!!! I'm just trying to make ya feel better. Spryng, I can't get over how good that afaghan is and you just started, I mean this is your first big crocheting thing right? I wish I could have taken on to it like that, I'd have so many crocheted things around here, maybe I'll give it a try sometime again. Jaymi, sorry about your day. Could be PMS but who knows with us, huh??? And I learned this...Don't ask what they want for lunch. I learned, just cook it and they will eat it or not. Makes our life easier. Hope you have a better day. Geri, glad you got some grocery shopping done tonight, got my done yesterday afternoon, I always feel so much better after that is done. How is your garden??? Bugs and the heat has pretty much killed mine out. We managed to save 3 ears of corn and they were so good. I do have some baby cantaloupes and I'm babying them alright. Trying to save anything I can. Penny, I always was confused about alot of the WW stuff, hope you figure it out though. At least you've got alot of them on here that do it and can help you. Good Luck with that. Okay as for me, I slept all night, with a couple of interruptions but nothing that kept me awake. We are getting our cost analysis turned into the bank today so hopefully in about a week or so we'll know if there is a hold up or maybe if we can close on it. I'll keep y'all informed. Well, we've got to leave here about 830 and meet the carpenter at my mom's house to let him in and discuss a few things with him then go to Lowes. I'll be home later. I hope you all have a great day and I'll check in later. |
What a night!
Liam had a bad night. I don't know if it was the shots from the doc appointment, or his teeth. I'd given him tylenol around 8:30 or 9 pm, but it didn't do anything. He wouldn't go to sleep until almost midnight and then was soooo restless all night. Luckily he's still semi-asleep right now.
Penny- you're still confused about the points for WW? Or is it the flexpoints part that confuses you? You have The Complete Food Companion, right? I use that a ton. I try my best to go by the ounces/serving size they list in the book. So if something says 3 points for 4 oz., but I have 2oz., then I count it as about 2 points - I know it's not exact, and if I can't be exact, I'll tend to round up if that makes sense. No, I don't want to schedule my spa reward until I know for sure I'll have lost 20 lbs by the time I'll go :) It should be very soon though! Angel- I know what you mean about deriving enjoyment from food. I alway sleave points for one WW dessert item, which is usually pretty low in points. Or you could have 1 or 2 chocolate graham crackers with Fat Free whipped cream - only one point per graham. However, as for enjoying yourself without food - I take bubble baths. It's wonderfully relaxing. Or you could give yourself a manicure or pedicure. Geri- I know - I pretty much can easily convince myself to spend money too  DH may be on tonight sometime - I'll find out from him. THe furniture arrives in about a month. Oops- Liam's awake - I'll finish responding to the rest of you later :) |
Hey Chicks Why is it that we always gotta put others first.. And when we complain. Others say that we need to put ourselves first sometimes… and we always have excuses not too…. I don't wanna hear anymore excuses for not putting yourselves first!!!... everyone else does it!! Why is it that "we" always have to put others first... they NEVER put US first!! Screw that!! Forget what everyone else wants.... tell them they aren’t more important than you!! Anyways today I am going to the beach, then the mall probably. That will piss me off in itself because I have NO MONEY!! I'm getting pissed off already because I've been up since 6:30 and everyone else is still sleeping... I want to get this crap over with! I HATE the beach! When it's just me watching the kids of course! ITS STRESSFUL!!!! And it pisses me off!!!! BUT..... this is my lil sis's last day here so I gotta be nice. Anyways I HATE NOT HAVING ANY MONEY!!!!!!!! Well I will talk with ya later.. got a long day ahead. Only exercised for 30 minutes.. (kept having to go to the bathroom) and I didn't even break a sweat.. but I wasn’t that into it though... It’s been harder and harder for me to exercise.. I feel like I’m dying!! My lousy 5 lb weights feel heavier some days… But I also have the fan and air way up so that I won’t pass out!!! I get headaches when I get over heated… it’s weird.. If I’m sweating from working out.. But it’s cool in the room, it’s ok, but if Its too hot… I get a headache and get sick! Go figure. Well wish I could get personal today, but this alone takes forever to do and I need to get on the ball and go cuss my sister out and make her a** get up!! OHHHH I’m grouchy already!!! Oh well…. Too bad so sad! I always have to kiss other people’s butt and I’m tired of it!! Why do I have to kiss someone’s butt to do something for them!!! ****, I can just stay at home and sit on my a**!! OHHH I think I have PMS yaw’l!!! :joker: :lol3: Anyways gotta go! Talk with you all later! |
Morning ladies
Geri-Thanks for the suggestion.I think I came across wrong last night.I don't buy "junk"food"alot.Last night was the first night i've had icecream in the house in a long time.I just could'nt resist. But I do try to compromise with the kids that was there treat for the day.My kids also snack on fruit and yogurt.I think I'll stick to freezing yogurt for them for their treats to keep me under control. The hot chocolate was ovaltine heated up with fat free milk. But yes I will shop more wisely next time. ;)
Crystal--I quit smoking cold turkey.have'nt craved them much.I do when I get around my family because they smoke but besides that I don't care to smoke.I relize loosing weight is a battle I just wish I was better at it.Thanks for caring :) Spryng-Thanks for the advice.I do shut my kitchen down and turn the lights out but I don't brush my teeth till right before bed.So I will be tring that.I'm going to also try to get in the bed at a decent hour.If I can do that then I would feel better all the way around.I see some of you get to take naps during the day.I wish I could but none of my kids nap. Thanks so much for caring.I'm happy to have found this thread with all you girls here. It's kind of like talking to old friends or something. Well I'm going to go drink coffee,do my bible study, and do lots and lots of exercise to get rid of some of those calories I had last night. Everyone have a good morning.I'll check back in later. :D |
Good Morning Ladies!!
Wow there were a lot of posts so forgive me if I miss you :) Penny If you need some help with your WW stuff let me know I can kinda help too :) But we know Spryng always has the answer lol. Leigh is also becoming a WW guru!! Spryng I went to walmart yesterday and I was gonna get some beads and stuff but they didn't have a great selection so I'm gonna go to the bead shop maybe on thursday when hubby gets home from work :) Have you made any other bracelets? I'd love to see them!! Leigh so sorry Liam had a bad night :( Hopefully it will be better tonight :) I always give my girls Motrin and it seems to work better than the tylenol does. Whenever they have shots done right when I get home I give them a dose and it seems to nip it in the bud. HTH Geri I usually don't like to get the patties that are pre flavored like the ranch patties you had I find I usually hate the flavor. But the fajita burgs were wonderful!! Have you tried the original chik'n patties I really like those!! I hope you have a great time at your bbq!! What time does it start? I'll be over promptly for free dinner ;) Crystal so glad you got a decent nights sleep :) Jaymi I hope your day gets better hang in there. Kristin I'm gonna try the no panties thing tomorrow if I can't get her to go today, for some reason though I don't know if taylor will care much lol she's just a nut! Anyway I hope I didn't leave anyone out, there were a ton of posts! I'm gonna go start the day! Have a great one ladies! Michelle |
Good morning all!!
I feel so good today! Maybe I'll get laundry caught up!! LOL.... well, we'll see, lol. What does everyone have planned for dinner tonight? I guess I'm making that chili with corn bread dumplings, since it's 15 pts per serving I will be skipping breakfast (or having a salad) and a light lunch with some steamed veggies to get me by. I only get 20 pts a day so 15 seems like a big deal! LOL. Michelle, you are going without panties today?!  :joker: JK, I see you were talking about your dd, LOL!! Just had to say it! :) No I haven't made another bracelet but I want to get some pearls today... I'd like to make a really pretty one with a clasp and all that. So that it looks nice if I go out to eat and all that, but I really love my bracelet! Angel, I hope you got your exercise in! And no we didn't think all the food in your house was junk, lol. We realized you just had snacks and such for the kids, which is normal, but if it tempts you then get rid of it! LOL. And people swear by the brushing your teeth after dinner to keep them from snacking, or even in between meals. I hope you have a great OP day! What plan are you on again? I forget. Oh I had a thought, maybe we can all post what diet plan we are on in our signatures so that we don't have to ask anymore, there are so many of us here and it's hard to keep everyone straight, what do you think? Jaymi, maybe life will get better for you once your sister is gone. I hope you have a good final day with her, and there are lots of things that are fun to do and don't cost any money. Hang in there! Leigh, so sorry Liam had a bad night. Maybe you'll get a nap in today. Crystal, you are so right about having times you wish you dh would leave for a day or two! LOL... I love it when dh comes home but come monday I'm ready for him to leave so I can get back to my routines and all that. He really makes a mess, lol. But I love the guy! i think if he ever went back to a 9-5 job it would take me quite a while (and a few fights) to get used to it again, lol. And yes, the green blanket I am making now is my first intricate pattern (well it looks hard anyway, lol) and I am so proud of it! So thank you for the compliments! The only thing I am worried about is the edging, I've never crocheted an edging before around a blanket, I just hope I get it right. But once its done it will be sooo pretty! I may not be able to part with it, lol. But this one I'm giving to dh's cousin, she is due in Oct, so this is her babyshower gift from me, well one of them anyway, lol. I may even get brave and make a matching pillow out of the same pattern, what do you think? I know babies don't use pillows but they are so cute in their little cribs. So I take it your FIL isn't moving? Am I right? Geri, yeah I really hate it when TOM shows up the same time as Dh, lol, can't deal with two men the same weekend, lol. They are jealous of one another. :D But luckily, I won't start until tuesday so we'll have all this weekend for "special" time ;) and I will truly get a vacation when I with DH!! I can sleep all day if I want! I'm looking forward to it. And you are too kind about saying I'm funny, lol... you girls really do bring out the silly side of me! And that yellow blanket it super easy, it's just one line repeated over and over. The hood was different but easy too and will be so cute on a newborn! And I am very cold natured too so don't feel bad. When dh comes in he freezes me out. I like my house to be around 72-74 degrees all day and all night and he likes 60! That is super cold to me. I even enjoy it around 80 in here during the day, with the ceiling fan on and such it feels just perfect, but I know other people come in here and sweat to death, lol. But it works for me. Boy I wish they had those meal deals here, I LOVE johnsonville brats!!! I'll pass on the sour kraut though, yuck! Do you know how that is made?? It's shredded cabbage put in big barrels of salt water and set out in the sun to heat up and rot.... ewwwww... my grandpa used to love that stuff and the smell gets to me right away. Well, I guess I should get off here and get dressed and all that fun stuff. Did anyone watch Big Brother or the Amazing Race last night? Big brother is getting ridiculous, I'm sick of those guys in the house but Amazing race was awesome!! great episode! Can't wait for next week. I never watched previous seasons of that show and now I'm kicking myself because it is so exciting! I just love it. Ok, TTYL! |
Hey girls! I figured that since several of us were having problems with the chat at our msn group that I would start a yahoo group so we can try the chat there if you all would like! Here is the link http://*************.com/group/LosingSAHMs Its just an idea incase we are having probs with msn chat :)

Spryng, you're right FIL decided not to move. But I have a feeling he might still in the future. I think when another job opening comes up again, he'll have less to think about next time and at some point I think he will move. He and his new family live in the home that he and my MIL picked out and built, they are not outdoorsy people and hate to mow and their front yard is the size of a football field so go figure. I just think there will come a time, plus NO ONE likes the schools in this district and he's got his very own kids to think of now, of course they're still babies now, but I just have a feeling one day, he'll leave. I guess we can put up a big privacy fence and not care after that.
Anyways, I'm home early, the contractor never showed. He never called either, he's been really good to keep in touch with me so I'm not sure what happened. He did two jobs for my sister and she said he's always punctual, so I don't know. But I didn't think it was fair that I have to sit around there with 3 kids for that long waiting on him. Maybe he'll call me in a little bit. I'm gonna get some work done on the computer. We were infested with ants today in my pantry so I've got some cleaning to do in there. I'll check in later. |
Back again.
Okay, I'm back  We went for our power walk at 9am and Liam slept most of the time, which is excellent. I think I'll do an abs tape later, but I'm not positive because I need to straighten up the house.
Geri - have you tasted the cake yet? Is it good? Jaymi- sounds like TOM is doing a number on you :( Hope he comes and goes quickly so you can feel better. I get really frustrated at everyone the week before TOM too :) And, hey, 30 minutes of exercise is 30 minutes, right? Crystal- about sometimes wishing Dh was out of town. I will say this - I think him going out of town often helps us because then I remember that I really miss him as opposed to whenhe's home and it gets easy to be frustrated over how messy the bathroom gets, etc., etc. So him being gone does make me appreciate him more. Quite honestly, right after 9/11 when he was in Afghanistan and it was really dangerous, I truly came to realize how a lot of the day-to-day things I used to get frustrated over really don't matter and I became a lot better about certain things. Sorry the contractor didn't show- hope all is well. Angel- you could also try buying single size servings of ice cream treats for the kids on the same day they'll be eating them. That way, they'll most likely eat their servings and there won't be any left over to tempt you. Michelle- do you have a craft store like Michaels near you? They'll also have a great selection of beads and jewelry making items. As for Motrin, yes - everyone says it works better, but unfortunately it makes Liam spit up. He loves Tylenol though - he opens his mouth as soon as he sees the bottle :lol3: Spryng- glad you're having a good day! Dinner tonight will be a WW meal since DH is gone. I saw Big Brother, but it never gets good until there are fewer people in the house. I'd love to try and chat with you guys next time. Okay, Liam needs a playmate. Later :) |
Angel,
Do you have a hobby? Like Spryng said, try to keep your hands busy. I know it always helps me. Hang in there, sometimes it takes us a long time to figure out a game plan for weight loss. Hey Geri, What's the party for? Are we invited??? I love the meal deal idea more and more every time you say it. :) Thanks for the ww info. I really appreciate it. Jaymi, Hope things get better for you. Don't blow all your hard work you have done. Do you take a whole Adipex a day or 1/2? Crystal, Sounds like you have a busy day planned! Good Luck :goodluck: Leigh, Thanks for your help on the serving sizes and such. I was confused about doing 1.5 points or rounding to the next point so thanks for clearing that up! Sorry dh is out of town :( Spryng, I am glad you posted about putting our plan in our sigs. I have been wondering about including a little short bio for everyone in the starting reply. But I wasn't sure. Like maybe: name, kids/age and plan. Not sure but I guess everyone can vote on what to do. Your supper sounds great. I am making Thai Chicken for supper but not sure about the sides yet. Michelle, I joined the new chat. Thanks for doing that. I was thinking about the same thing. Great minds think alike :) How is your scale doing? I know you are peeking......... :) :) :) Well, Ladies .... WW is agreeing with me so far. My scale was back down 4 pounds already this morning! OMG Yah! I am still at 166 but I am hoping to get back down to 159 soon. I know it may take awhile but atleast I am going back to the right direction. :) I have been scrapbooking last night and fixing to get started again this morning. Have a good one!!!! |
OMG GERI!!!!!!!!
:D :D :D :D :D I didn't realize that 5 more pounds and you will be on the other side!!!!!! :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! :cp: :cp: :cp: :cp: WONDERFUL!!!!!! :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: |
Good morning all :coffee:
Crystal, I'm still drinking my coffee so I'll have a sip or two for you! Sorry about the ants...they're a pain in the butt. My uncle told me about an ant poisen that you can put a drop on a piece of cardboard and the ants will get to it and take it back to the nest and they'll all die! Just can't remember the name of it! I like the idea cause you can put it where the kids can't get to it and still get the job done. Leigh...The cake package is still sealed. I keep walking past it and looking at it but it won't be opened until after dinner tonight. :D Hope Liam's doing better today. There's nothing worse than a tired, cranky baby...well, maybe a tired, cranky mama! Spryng, how can you say you're not funny? Michelle with no panties? :lol3: OMG!! I even had to go back and re-read her post  . Do you have a scanner? You could scan the pattern and email or snail mail it to me if you wouldn't mind! The green one looks adorable too. Hmmmm, who do we know that's going to have a baby???? Michelle, the party is on Aug 7th at 3:00 ish. We have an extra bed so you wouldn't have to pay for a hotel! Let me know what time to expect you!!!!! Wooo hooo, that would be fun! :dizzy: Angel, I quit smoking 3 times! The first was for 6 months, the second was for 8 months and the 3rd was the charm. I think that is easier than dieting because you actually have to go out of your way to get a cigarette...but there is always SOMETHING in your kitchen to eat even if it's not a sweet treat  . I don't have cravings and I can smell when someone's a smoker right away. It's been 5 years now. I always keep treats here for the kids too...that's normal. I also tend to get into them once in a while :o but even if I didn't I'd find something...like peanut butter...yummmmmmmmy. Stick with us...you'll be fine. It took some of us a while to get our diets together before we started or kept losing. :^: Spryng...I like the idea of putting the plan in your sig. If I remember I'll do it right after this post! OK, I must get some other stuff done. It's supposed to storm here this afternoon. It's about 88 and sticky outside so we'll stay in I think. I love hot, just not sticky. The morning storms they were talking about must have broken up before they got here. Crystal...almost forgot. The garden is still doing well. Tasted some carrots but I keep breaking them when I try to pull them so I have to get out there with a little shovel when the ground is wet. Still getting lots of beans a few peas and the green peppers are starting to sprout. Had 1 pickle that was big enough to taste. We'll be canning in a few weeks I think. Mom's got lots of tomatos on the vine too. Have a wonderful day ladies and I may get back on here again. TTYL! |
Hi Penny! We posted together! Congrats on the 4 lbs. :)
|
hey ladies! :)
How are you all doing this Wednesday morning! Well today is my weigh in, I maintained today, which i guess isn't bad, since I have been having TOM cravings lately, its on the way, early next week....ugh. oh well, at least it wasn't a gain! Michelle - All you can do is try, with the potty training...see what works, ya know? I figure, if they are ready, then they will do it. Sydney was just lazy, she could go, just never MADE her do it......so when she ran around w/ no diaper, pull-up or panites, it kinf of forced her to try, she had been waking up dry for months, and telling me right after she would poop or pee in her diap...so I just forced the issue! well anyway, good luck! ;) Spryngy (boing, boing) hahah! how you doing lady? sorry, I just had too! Geri - CONGRATS!!!! :cb: :cheer: :cb: That is awesome! Hi Leigh - glad you got your walk in today! Crystal, Jaymi, Panny, Cindi, Melinda, Cheri, Angel, Di, Ginny! HAVE A GREAT DAY! :grouphug: Don't have time to get personal with all of you! :) I still love ya, hope you all have a great day! :ballons: |
Penny- :bravo: :cheer: on being down 4 lbs!! Wow! That's enough to keep a person motivated :) What is the "starting reply"? Sorry if that's a dumb question. What kind of scrapbooking are you doing? Kids albums? Wish I could join you :D
Geri- Liam is in a great mood today, so I'm glad. He napped a lot this morning. It looks like he may nap again soon so I can straighten up some more. I try cleaning while he plays on the floor, but he doesn't put up with that for long. How are the boys treating you today? Kristin- congrats on maintaining - believe me, during pre-TOM, that's an accomplishmnet! Well, I keep forgetting to discuss this with ya'll. I know this goes against every single nutritionist or diet expert's advice, but I find when I skip breakfast and just have an early lunch at 11am instead, I do much better with cravings, hunger, etc. during the day. I know it's crazy, but I swear this has been true for me my whole life. And the signature line - I do like the idea of everyone putting thir plan in there. SHould we also, as Penny suggests, put a short bio? |
Hi Lovely Ladies! I'm back home, what a journey!
I did just OK on my plan while I was away, gained a couple, but that will be easily lost, so I'm not stressed about it. I feel sooo motivated and sooo good about my eating, that I'm really happy with myself. I'm also working really hard to get more exercise into my week and starting Friday I will be hitting the gym with Logan and Ethan. My big plan is still doing Yoga twice a week, with 2-3 days at the gym for some strength training. The boys' birthday was really great, Ethan had a blast playing with the "big" boys and Logan pretty much was doing his own thing playing in the bushes and with the fountain. I really miss my family, and it was hard to leave. Luckily I talked my mom and Grandma into visiting us in August and I'm working on getting my sister and her brood up her in Sept. or October. I didn't realize how lonely I was till I had to leave my sister's house. :( I'm trying to catch up with all of you, it will take a couple of days! Sounds like everyone is doing well, so what big things did I miss while I was away?? Give me some details ladies, I feel like I've been gone for a month instead of a week! Michelle, I would love it if you could give me some guidelines on weight training. Like how I should break up my workouts each day. Any help will be greatly appreciated! ;) Well "Howdy" to all of you, Spryng, Leigh, Crystal, Penny, Ricci, Kristen, Geri, and Angel, cripes, I hope I didn't forget anyone, if I did, please forgive me! Tonight, I'm making a W.Watcher's shepherd's pie, sounds yummy, for dinner and for lunch a lean cuisine pizza roll, not sure how good it will be as it's the first time I will be trying it. Off to try and get some of our luggage and crap put away. You can all just imagine how much laundry I have as well as toy sorting. Too much stuff! Glad to be home, and hope to catch up soon. P.S. Leigh, I used to find it easier to skip breakfast as well, it would really cut down on cravings for me. Then I realized that the real reason it helped me was because I wasn't starting out my day with carbs. I don't have the same reaction to breakfast if I eat eggs first thing, but I really see a difference if I start the day out with toast or a bagel or cereal. You may want to check that out for yourself sometime, it could be just me, the way my body works with carbs, but I've heard others say the same. Just a thought! hugs, Di |
OHHH DIIIII,
WWWEEEEELLLLLCCCOOOMMMMMEEEEE BBBAAAACCCCKKKK!!!!! We have missed YOU! :) Please give me the recipe for the ww shepard's pie. My hubby loves it but I never had a lowfat recipe for it! :) Thanks so much! Don't worry about the gain. You will have it off in no time! I am glad the boys enjoyed their birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN & LOGAN! :balloons: Leigh, About the starting reply. I didn't know what to call it. I was talking about the one that starts our thread.... the one we copy to each thread. Me or my kids are not breakfast people. I could live without bf everyday and it wouldn't bother me one bit. I say do what you think is good for you! You know your body better than any dr, right! :goodluck: Kristin, Congrats :cheer: on the maintenance. Yes, it is better than a gain. I know you will have a great loss this coming week! As for me, I am really loving ww. I didn't think I would but now that I have really put some thought into it, it is really simple. I never wanted to have to measure out all my food but now I am..... and realizing how much I was overeating at each meal. And I have found that I am not picking at food like always. I use to grab a bite of something all the time. Now I don't want to have to use a point or look it up. I am feeling great so far! Thanks ladies! |
Gonna start a new thread!
C-ya there !!!!!!!! |
