  • Sis boom bah! Life got in the way again and I'm already over the target! Will just try to eat sensibly the rest of the day and focus on counting the calories, no matter how high!

I'll be back tonight with a report!

    Hocus pocus focus focus!
  • Calories today: I shudder to think......

Exercise: 45 min. step video [excellent sweat!]
    30 min. dumbells

Here's the thing with me; when one part of my plan falls apart it all goes, i.e., if the food part's off, I'll blow off the exercise--but today I forced myself to do a good workout and I felt better, and more hopeful. Really want to get completely back on track!!!
  • Yup, yup, yup, yup, yup!!! Me, too, E, so feeleth not like the Lone Rangerette!!! I'm in the newsroom now waiting to go cover a meeting and I've been eating all day. Presently, I am eating sugar frosted Cheerios, but there've been worse things! (There's a pizza parlor next door).

    Calories (as of now) 3155!

    Exercise calories burned: zilch, nada!

We CAN get back on track, just have to take it a day at a time! Huzzah!

It comes down to believing that it can be done ... and we know it can, because we've done it!!!

So, ONE MORE TIME! Hocus, pocus, focus, focus! On to the best calorie controlled Wednesday ever!
  • Hello Ladies,

Exercise = none will go tomorrow night overtime or not!

    Calories = about 1800

Edyie, Godess in training - I love that!!!

Amarantha, yes, it can be done.

Looking forward to a low cal, exercise filled Wednesday!

    Lynn
  • Calorie Counterettes, TOMORROW IS THE DAY!!!!
  • Hello all!

Just sticking my head in the door to mention I've opened a Sprint II for any and all who would like some extra motivation.

I can relate to the calorie counting challenges as I have the hardest time writing down what I'm eating so I often wonder if I'm over or under .....
Passive aggressive?? Denial?? Poor Organizational skills??
    Who knows!

    anyway...
The Sprint is open to any and all...no experience necessary!

To repeat the words of a very motivating woman!

    YOWZA!
  • TODAY IS THE DAY OF HOCUS POCUS FOCUS FOCUS: (Was I shouting? How rude!)

Calorie Target: 1700! I can do it!!! Exercise calories burned (already) 240 (1 hour, 20 min of what trainer calls "random exercise" at gym ... I call it circuit training)

I'll be back with report tonight!

    Hi, to K!

Also wanted to mention that I really like the concept of this thread (which I did not invent but stole from another website ) and think it's going to be my main posting focus for awhile ... maybe it could be revamped monthly to keep it lite and quick (like my eating, hopefully)!

Just wanted to mention that I hope no one has the idea they shouldn't post their food in detail here. Some people journal in detail and some, like me, want only to count the numbers, but it's all calorie counting, right?

Later, gators. I promise brevity in my next post!! Huzzah!
  • May I join y'all?
I too faithfully count calories. I am on trying to get about 1200 calories per day and I am so strict with myself sometimes I have trouble getting over 1000. They always say do what works for you and this is working for me, and it doesn't eliminate anything from my diet... I can have what I want if I allow the calories for it, and so far I've lost just over 30# since March.

For my exercise I go to Curves 5+ times a week, water aerobics on Wednesday nights and a tapes tape for my thighs whenever I fit that in.

Do you mind if I hop in here with you girls?
  • Forgot to mention...
Here's a snack that is low in calories and sooo YUMMY.... Oreo Thin Crisps from Nabisco. They have 100 calories per package, and are definitely worth it.... Nabisco makes a few others that I plan on trying soon too. Check them out: 100 Calorie Snack Packs
  • Yo! Welcome, Jenn!!!! So glad you joined us in the Clublette!!! Thanks for the info on the snack packs. I need to try these!!!

I'm experimenting with little packs of kid cereal as substitutes for candy today. Bought some largish size servings (individually packaged); the highest of these is 170 (Cinnamon Toast crunch). I balanced the sugar of the servings (have had two) with an EAS Carb Control shake (100 cal).

Ok, promised brevity. Will be back tonight!
  • Welcome. Jenn! And thanks for the info on the snax! I saw the whole array of the 100-calorie things and was curious. I'll have to try them on your recommendation.

Very pleased to see the elimination of hydrogenated oils in some of my old favorites too----triscuits are finally trans-fat free!
  • Hi All:

I came today right around 1500 calories. I am doing a lot of estimating here and I think I tend to overestimate. I am so scared about blowing it and going over. And still no exercise. Someone please yell at me

    Lynn
  • I followed Amarantha and Eydie in here... I figured it's about time I get really honest about my food intake. Plus, I've noticed recently that being aware of the calories in some things makes me NOT want to eat them... So yeah, this is the first time I've really counted calories. So I need to start with a goal.
When I fooled around with fitday years ago, it gave me something around the ballpark of 1400 calories.
http://www.am-i-fat.com/ tells me it should be 1686, but that's just for maintenance, not loss.
A very unscientific quiz on ivillage.com told me to follow their 1400-calorie plan.
The Hacker's Diet (great site!) tells me 1344-1680.
So I guess I'll set an arbitrary goal of 1400 for now.

I got 1517 today, which doesn't sound too bad, but I ate the way I ate before I was losing weight.
Exercise: basic stuff (a few sit ups, etc) and a 25-minute walk around my neighborhood.
  • Welcome, Abba!!!! Looks like you had a great, healthy day!!!

Wisertime, no yelling, you're doing great! You'll exercise when you feel like it. You have to be ready. Please don't worry about estimating, going over and "blowing it!" IMO, it's consistency in counting calories that counts (sorry, too many counts in that sentence). Even if we don't get a count exactly correct, just assigning a number to everything eaten really does keep the total eaten in check, at least that's the way I look at it! You're probably more accurate than you think.

I must announce here THAT I MADE MY GOAL; calories: 1690!!!

    Exercise calories previously reported!!! Huzzah!
  • Ended Wednesday with 1700 calories. Exercise was a 60 min. "Firm" cardio-sculpt video and 20 min. dumbell routine. [Have I mentioned I love 'The Firm'? ]
