Well girls...I'm still lurking around. I went around other threads and read some here and there. It's amazing how others lives are going you know? Makes me thankful for what I have and who I am. Very interesting reading.

Angie--Is your friend going to join our group sometime? Or have you said some scary things about us?? :lol: About the beans....they sure make me gassy. I read somewhere about how to fight bloat. I should find it and post it. Gave some good tips. I read about only for my grandma. She was constantly bloated and I some of the things actually helped. One was drinking from a straw. You suck in more air than you need to. She needed lots of water to help some of the chemo flush out...and someone gave her a big cup with a built in straw.....I told her to get rid of it and find a water bottle. There was other things in there too that I found helpful...if only I could remember!
James always tells me to buy Beano. Has anyone ever tried that????

Ok..I'm on a mission to find that article. See what I come up with.

Marti - to answer two questions, 1) I get about 7 hours sleep, if I'm lucky. 2) yes, I've tried Beeno and it helps. Glad your g'pa is having fun.

Susan - S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT! Wasn't that the Bay City Rollers biggest hit? It sure is a catchy little ditty. Btw, I also thought you said Brother!! See, Cristi, I need new glasses, too. My appt is for July 15, for real.

Jen - I'll send you a PM w/my addy. Then you'll have no excuse to not send me a postcard, lol. The thing about my belly is, it used to never be the worst part of me. My butt was. Well, that's still real bad, too, lol. And geez, my arms are terrible! Re: plastic surgery. If I could afford it, I'd get q-thing lifted after I lose all the weight! (medical abbreviations come back to a person, lol)

RosieKate - the calculator is fancier than the slider and more sturdy. Keep it in your purse for when you go to the grocery store. So glad you got the dining room suite! Did you check out the restaurants at the site I mentioned? You gotta! It's amazing!

Cristi - I think you oughta take piano lessons! It's never too late.... Have a safe trip. When are you coming back???

Angie - everyday, about 2 -2:30 I have to have a snack. A lot of times it's a bowl of cereal to help me get my milk in. If I'm going to be gone, I take something portable with me. like peanut butter on a graham cracker. Each evening, or right after breakfast, I write down exactly what I am going to eat and I think that is one of the things that has helped me stay OP. No rifling through the cabinets and frig, lol.

I'm going shopping today with Madison. It's her turn, lol. I am going to pick up some of those thingies you put on the back of your rings to keep them from falling off. When I've lost all I want to, I'll have them re-sized. Btw, I've lost 1/2 a shoe size! :D When I get upset about my belly, I'll remember these good things, right?

Good morning ladies~

Just a quickie here as I need to get in the shower and out the door at 10. I am hoping we have good weather. It is supposed to thunderstorm in KC today and tomorrow, but in the evening I think, and that was yesterday so...you never know.

Susan~I am going to Kansas City for a Jessica Simpson concert, yippee! NOT! :lol: Got free tickets and while I like watching her on tv, and listening to her music, I'm not really crazy about seeing her in concert. But it is something to do, and I haven't been to KC in a while, so it's a short road trip.

Jana~1/2 a shoe size-wow! That is so cool. I have always been a little embarrassed of having big feet. I used to wear a 8.5 until I got pregnant and went up to a 9-9.5 and now depending on the shoe I wear a 9.5-10! Have fun with Madison today. You are such a great grandma! I look so forward to being one someday-I will definitely spoil my grandkids rotten. It's just an overnight thing, I'll be back tomorrow sometime. And thank you. We are just going to take our time to and fro.

Angie and Marti~I too usually get hungry about 3 pm. I have been doing good lately though and grabbing a piece of fruit or a yogurt, usually a banana. That usually helps till dinner, and if I have dessert I am fine the rest of the night. Last night for dessert I had about 4 strawberries w/some light cool whip.

But I do understand about the eating Marti, I think we all do. TOM is the worst and I am so glad that mine is not regular anymore. I hadn't had one for 6 months and then boom, had one. Now back to not having one.

Good morning ladies

Pacific City was fun, but not relaxing. Just couldn't stay long enough. Weather was great, lots of cousins for DS to play with, sunny day, had a great time. Glad to be home.

Susan - Sounds like you and Gabs' dad are doing lot of driving - sounds like he lives in Astoria? But it is so worth it for your daughter's sake. I know the play area you are talking about up at the Rose Garden - it's alot of fun! Gabrielle will be one tired pumpkin after playing there with her dad.

Marti - I live in Southwest Portland in a neighborhood call Multnomah Village. Lots of antiques stores, restaurants, and a great independent bookseller called Annie Bloom's. Lots of charm. Susan's older daughters live in the area and attended the same grade school as my son. Small world, huh. Pacific City was a 2 - 2.5 hour drive from my house. Kids were a pain on the way there, but both slept on the way home - yeah! Hey, I get real susceptible around TOM time - I'll join the pity party. I like a glass of wine or two, then that triggers my salt cravings - then we're off to the races. Trying to keep wine out of the house during my TOM.

Jana - I've been checking out dwlz.com, and it is great. I love that picture of her on the home page. The restaurant guide and food lists are impressive, to be sure. I couldn't find a search function - is there one I'm missing? If there isn't, that would be my only complaint. I like to be able to type in a key word and narrow it down, as opposed to browsing. I guess I need to just get more familiar with her organization.

Christi - I wear a size 9 shoe, and I'm 5'4". It's bizarre, no other women in my family have feet this big. It's a mystery. Have fun at Jessica Simpson.... or at least enjoy the time out and, you know, free is a very good price!

Hello to everyone else...Question of the day.: Jana mentioned resizing her rings and that got me thinking about some of the things I'm promising myself to do when I get to my weight loss goal. Resizing my wedding ring is one of them - haven't worn mine in three years...since I was about 5 months pregnant w/Leigh. I also was toying with the whole tummy tuck idea, if I can afford it. I've had 2 C-sections and the skin around my midsection is loose. If I get to goal and it's still there, I want it gone!

While I do believe that weight loss isn't going to fix any problems in my life other than just be a healthier, more active person, I do think it's helpful to dangle a little carrot in front of my nose, you know? The other thing I'm toying with for a reward at goal is getting a Sharon Stone-type buzz and doing something funky with my haircolor. One of the things about my current weight that I absolutely do not like is how fat my face looks. Hate seeing myself in pictures. So when the weight comes off...I'll be in the mood for a dramatic statement.

Anyway - there's my thought for the day! Ciao for now....

Jana--When are you taking ME shopping?? :lol: You must be so fun to be with. I hope we can meet sometime next summer!! You got me in the mood for shopping....I'm hoping to go to some of the farms this Friday with Shanna, get some fresh veggies and fruits. Plus, I love visiting farms!

Cristi--Have lots of fun today!! How did you get free tickets? I've never been to a concert. Maybe someday..... Go have fun and enjoy every minute!!

RosieKate--I'm going to have to get my road map out and see where exactly it is that you live. I know the name but can't think where it's located at. So when are you and Susan going to meet up and have coffee?? When are the Oregon girls going to meet and chat?? I would love to meet up sometime, maybe in between me, Shanna and you two......would be fun. We ought to think about that sometime!!


Well, TOM has officially hit. I've been bloated and cramping the past couple days and today it's really bad. Need to take some IBprofin to ease it up. Never fun. Especially in the summer!! I always get extra HOT!! Like I'm going through the "change" and having hot flashes!! Which I have to say I am NOT looking forward to....I believe I will have them bad. With both pregnancies...I had them often!! Thought I would pass out!!

Ok...I need to get my day moving. It's almost noon and I haven't done anything yet!!

omg- Gabster and I went to Starbucks this morning (out at the Beaverton Mall- RosieKate) and I had coffee-- of course --and she had a Smoothie. I could have sworn it said yogurt....lol....so, she shared my low fat raisin dolace....and spilled the Smootie all over my pants and feet......grrrrrr.
We went into the mall , which they have redone, looks very nice. Spent some time in the pet store and Gabster coo 'd (is that a word???) over the doggies,,,,,,,so cute.
After that we went to WINCO and bought some much needed food. Heard through the grapevine that "mom and child" can not live on Kettle Korn alone......

I DID make it down to 142!! YAY.......btw- Marti.....I had doritoes and raspberry beer last saturday night. Don't know why I did that but it sounded good and I was by myself,,,,,,,,and the beer went with the doritoes....lol.....anyway, that is a once a year thing......the corn chips were sooooooo good.......

S*A*T*U*R*D*A*Y N*I*G*H*T.......was there only hit Jana......lol. I adored Woody though. What a cutie.....

Gabster's father actually lives in Seaside- RK.....in the shadow of the new "time shares" they built on the prom.....like 2 blocks down......there is an espresso on the corner.......he was in Gearhart before that and Seaside when I met him. Think he is making his way down the coast or something...lol....he will be in Pacific City sometime next year.....lol.

Anyway, he is in PDX tonight!! It is kind of exciting.....Gaby is going to have her first sleep over. I made tuna casserole and will go get her in Milwaukie on my hour dinner break...........this will be during rush hour, not looking forward to it....

I wanna go shopping and go to Cuba!!! lol

I better go....waaaaaay too happy today. Just learned that along with a raise we get another one on top of that........because we work after hour shifts.......this is all because we got voted in the union! YAY.........love $$$$$.

btw- I have a 9 1/2 foot - wide am 5'4.....lol........

Put the toner in wrong for the copy machine so had the service man come out and fix my little mess. He said it wasn't too bad that the worse calls are from the college.....people with degree''s & such.............. So that made me feel better..........I guess...lol

I'm done with the dreadmill.... er, treadmill for the day, and went to take a bubble bath and had a TICK on me! I flung it, then couldn't find it, so I got myself out of the tub in lightening speed, lol. Had no clue I could move so fast! I still feel like the little sucker is on me somewhere....

Ok....everyone is talking about size of their feet....am I the only one with a size 6? Sometimes is 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 depending on the shoe. How in the world do I stand and keep my balance?? :lol:

Well I've had a pretty good day today. Just relaxed for most of it. Then went out to my aunts and had a chitchat with her and my cousin. They were working on their garden when I stopped by. Full of herbs!! Smelled soooooo good!! They gave me a bunch of Rosemary. I will have to come back later for fresh Oregano, and basil, and bay leaves. Just love all that stuff fresh out of the garden!! After that I went to grandpa's to finish my patio swing. Got as much of it as I can painted. Will pick it up this weekend when James has off. I plan on buying two of grandpa's rockers he made. (I didn't want him to give them to me, don't want him thinking I'm trying to take advantage of him!!) So he decided to give me two for the price of one.

Anyway....I need to go make myself some dinner. Going to have a salad. Will be back to check in again.

Well I should say...I ought to be in bed by now...but I wasn't able to sleep!! But now that I'm on here posting...I'm getting sleepy. Must be what I needed. :D

James will be surprised to see me awake if he walked in any minute...should be home in the next half hour!

Jana & Sue, I enjoyed our chat on in the chatroom. Sorry if I was a boring chatter. Angie, Susan, Cristi, Rosiekate and EVERYONE else that I missed....we should all cram in there sometime and yap away. It was fun. Think of a time we could all be online and we can get together and yap.

So what are everyones plans for the weekend? Anything fun? I would like to go to the coast. But I don't think that's what were going to do. James will be spending some time bottling up beer he made last month. I hope he doesn't expect me to help! :lol: My whole house smells awful when he's making that stuff!! But apparently all that have drank his beer, really liked it. Too bad I'm not a beer drinker. Actually it's probably a good thing, otherwise when I ran out of wine, I'd be hitting the bottles of beer!! Boy...I need a job.

Awwww, thank you all so much for the kind words about my new avatar. I was feeling playful and decided to go for it! Especially to you, Shanna, since you made a special effort to pop in and say that!

I PMed Suzanne and asked if we can get our own chat room. I had a blast in there last night! And I think we ought to plan to meet there tonight at 9PM my time, which is 7PM on the West coast. If Neal and I go to the Eagles, I won't be there, but the rest of you can try....

By the way, I have often checked out members' data. It's fun and informative.... That's how I know when someone leaves us, if they're really gone or if they just moved on to a new group.

A quick hello this a.m. -

Jana - love the new avatar, cutie-pie! I would love to chat, but can't promise I'll get to the computer at that time. That's when we are winding down, getting the kids bathed and read to, yada yada. I'll try.....

Well, Dad brought the table over, and it is indeed gorgeous. Trouble is, it smells like cigarette smoke, so I Febrezed the cr** out of it. Now it smells like Febreze and cigarette smoke, lol. But it is an improvment. I could have cried, however. He was giving me a hard time about my apprehension over having such a large, formal piece in my little dining area. We have no formal dining room and I just didn't think hardwood and upholstery and toddler was a good combination. He kept saying, "It survived you and your brother just fine, and you were hard on it" Then he brings it over and there is a half-dollar sized burn mark on the surface from where he and his wife let a candle burn down. So the table could survive my brother and me, but not HIM, apparently. Ugh. So I called my mom, who has room and could use a dining table that seats 10 as she has begun distributing some of the books she has edited and published. It will be a good work space for her, she will take good care of it until either my DB, me, or my children are in a position to have it again. She is coming Sat. to have a visit and cart it off.
Today I clean and get ready for company - again. Yeesh! When it rains, it pours. I'll try to get back later to do individuals

I forgot to mention that Suetalks was in the chat room last night, and she mentioned that her father passed away yesterday. :( She was kind of antsy, so she was diverting her attention that way. She and her DH are going to PA today, and she isn't sure how long she will be gone. I know we will all want to keep her in our thoughts and prayers during her trying time.

RosieKate - so glad you found a home for the dining room set! Your mom may be able to buff the burn stain away. Btw, I had plantars faciitis for almost 2 years and it hurt so much! I have to be very careful on the treadmill, which is what caused it in the first place!

Just a quick post....I just got home about 15mins. ago. Went with Shanna to the local farms and bought some fresh veggies. I really wanted to load up but thought that I better not. Didn't think that I would be able to eat all in time before they spoiled!! Spent most of the time pulling up my pants...finally dragged Shanna to Walmart and bought me a darn belt! So now I feel better. :D

So did any of you get to chat today? Sorry I missed it if you did. Maybe next time.

I better clean up the kitchen.....can't be a housewife that doesn't keep house!! :lol:

Katierose,,,murphy's cleaning oil will help with the table....remember to clean under the table too,,,been there done that when Monte's mom passed on, we got a few wood pieces and her being a heavy smoker I washed and still the smell was there till my mom helped me with the cleaning oil...

Angie - thanks for the Murphy's Oil tip. A day later, it still smells like smoke, with a whiff of febreze over it - ha ha. I joked to DH, " I just replaced one stink with another!" My mother has a steam cleaner that will take care of the upholstery, and she and her DH will most likely refinish the top due to damage. It really is a gorgeous piece, and I have fond memories associated with it. Someday I would like to pass it to my children. Brad, Brad, Brad - what a hunk o'man. Problem is, he has to open his mouth :dizzy: I 'd rather just sit and look at him. I saw him on Oprah a few years back and thought he was quite the dim bulb...

Jana - YAY - again - on your loss! I received my WW stuff yesterday and it is a much easier program than I expected. Seem like I just need a points list and I'm good to go. The calculator is very helpful for keeping track, particularly with activity and flex points. So I'm off and running....

Marti - Farmer's markets are the best! We have several really good ones in the Portland area, including one just down the street from my neighborhood in Hillsdale. Now that I get organic produce delivered, I don't go very often. I need to go to the Portland one sometime, though, as they carry a grass-fed chicken that I want to start buying in bulk. Just haven't made it downtown yet.

Sue - if you are lurking, hang in there. I 'm saying a prayer for you and your family and so sorry about your dad.

Christi - did the JS concert happen? Paper (or was it People mag) this morning said she had a kidney infection and was canceling until later in the month. Or was that BritneySpears ....I can't keep them straight. I just read the People with Brit slobbering allover her new fiance, whom she's known for a whopping three months. He's dad to a 2 yr old and former GF is expecting his second child. Shall we all start betting pool about how long this marriage will last? Gag.

HI to everyone else...sorry I'm missing some people. I need to finish cleaning up the house and get some groceries, as Mom and her DH are expected today. After they pack up the table and leave tomorrow, life should calm down for awhile. I'm looking forward to a low key week so I can catch up on my garden and whatnot. Anybody here a BigBrother/Amazing Race fan? Don't know that I'm into BB as much as I used to be, but TAR is my fave reality show. I'm also enjoying Last Comic Standing.....

Jana--CONGRATULATIONS on 2 more pounds!! That is just fantastic!! I may weigh myself today.....but don't know...it's TOM and that just doesn't feel good to see a gain!! But I'm so happy for you!!!!! As for the pants.....they didn't get too big, I bought them that way. I keep telling myself I need a size 10....and James tells me a size 8. I say, it depends if the jeans are stretch or not. Anyway, the belt helped with the falling down part!! :)

RosieKate--Haven't ever watch either of those shows. Have you watched "The Jury" yet? very interesting. I like trying to figure out if the person is guilty or innocent, :mag: and then at the end, they show you what happens and lets you know if they are or not. :judge:

Angie--I haven't seen Troy....I haven't gone to see a movie in awhile. Shrek2 was the last one. So you've fallen head over heals for Brad have ya??? :love: He is a cutie!! I saw him on Oprah yesterday, but didn't stay long enough to watch it.

Hiya Ladies~
 

Just spent 2 hours cleaning my car really good. I haven't done a good cleaning like that since before we moved off the dirt road. I have vaccuumed often, just not cleaned to the extent I did today. Boy was it a HOT one! Now I am resting and having lunch before starting in on the 15 loads of laundry I have to do. Okay, so it's just 14. :lol: I'm kidding, it really is only 3 loads, I think, possibly 4.

Jana~the concert was nice. I really like the amphitheater atmosphere. Although, on the tickets it says bring your lawn chairs and we get there lawn chairs in hand and have to take them back to the car. The free concert cost $3 each for parking, and $6 each to rent a lawn chair, which still isn't bad. They have to make some money some how I guess, because a lot of people had those free tickets. The parking fee was just for the ones with free tickets. 3/4 of the place is lawn seating, but I liked it. It was Jason. WTG :bravo: on another 2 pounds gone forever! Rosiekate~my dd also saw that about JS and before we left I tried to find something, make sure the concert was a go, which it was. She had a nice summer dress on, don't even know how to begin to describe it-but it was nice and summery. The girl can sing that's for sure, and dance. There was an opening act also, Ryan Cabrera (sp?), he was actually good also and has a new album coming out. If anyone watches JS or Ashlee Simpson, he is a friend of the family and now I guess is Ashlee Simpsons boyfriend. The father manages him. Anyhoo...I am a JS & AS watcher-they crack me up. Yeah, I give BS marriage about a month if that. Sorry, not a fan of BB or AR. I had watched BB2 and never saw another one after that. I don't think I even watched the whole thing to see who one.

Angie~oooooooooo, Brad Pitt :T He is a cutie. And George Strait, again :T I love his crooked sexy smile! And his music of course! :lol: I think my fav is Write This Down. Have you already gone to see him or is that coming up, can't remember. Haven't seen Troy, I'm not much of a fan for movies like that.

Very cloudy out but HOT! Picked up my swing from grandpa's can't wait to hang it up and use it!! Nothing like a patio swing!!

Cristi--I've been off and online most of the morning....reading here and there. Then James and I finally went to town to look around and have lunch. Are you wanting to come over and detail my car too?? :lol: I haven't washed it good in and out in so long!! I usually wash it then kind of pick up on the inside...I really should take a rag to the inside and vacuum!!! It needs it. I keep tracking in sawdust from the trees!! Maybe I will tackle that sometime this week.

Not much going on right at this moment. I have some friends coming over and one of James' friends are coming....I guess they're both of our friends.....don't know why I split them up like that. So I've been dashing around the house picking up little stuff here and there and sweeping it up. Can't have company with a messy floor!!!

Anyway, just wanted to check in see if anyone's on.

Becky Angelika and I went for pancake breakfast with the boys,,,that was cool...listened to Paul Brant sing,,nice Calgary boy. Then went to Millerville one of them really cool farmers market,,its like being at Costco with all the samples...Tanner and his buddy went swimming I waited and waited,,,2 hours later in the van,,,I had enough makeup melting down my face,,,geesh I must of looked like Alice Cooper...lol So now we are home,,relaxing,,glass of wine,,,steak BBQing with some baby potatoes,,,and veggies.
Cristi, those kinds of movies freak me out too,,,but to see Brad in a leather skirt and not much else,,,was worth it....*evil grin

RosieKate - YAY for you starting WW!!! I am very happy about that. Tip # 1 - you gotta try the Edy's Whole Fruit (sugar free) popcicles - they are 1 fiber, 30 calories, no fat, 0 points. We can have three 0 points foods like that a day before we have to count it 1 point for all 3. I get mine at Wal-mart for $2.50 a box of 12. They are worth it!

Marti - The Jury sounds like something that I would really like. What day and network is it on?

Cristi - The Eagles is a local family club. Not the group.... if it was the group, I would've been waaaaaaay excited. And no, we didn't get to the club, because Zane's mom was running behind, and it just didn't work out.

I got the house cleaned today, listening to oldies on the radio. Then I went to town just to get out of the house. Had fresh corn on the cob for supper with Molly McButter on it. Mmmmmmm

Good morning! Well, it's just 12:00 noon, so GOOD NOON! It has been since Wed since I've been online. So busy. Thursday I was running around mad trying to get ready for my trip. Friday I left work at noon and left for Chicago about 1. Checked into the hotel, ate dinner, and went to the concert. It was a little disappointing. I've decided I really don't like outdoor concerts. It wasn't loud enough. I could clearly carry on a conversation. A rock concert is supposed to be deafeningly loud. It also started raining during Kiss. Lucky for us, we were under a pavilion. But we had to walk in the rain back to the car. And it only took us 2 hrs to go 35 miles from the hotel to the concert. I love Chicago! Yesterday we went shopping at Oakbrook and Woodfield malls. I bought a few things, but didn't go hog wild. Got home last night about 9pm, dog tired.

Jana - would you believe I forgot to buy any postcards? I wanted to send one to my mom too. Darn it! I'll find one around here and send it to you! I'm sure there is one with a John Deere tractor on it! YUK! I did get my Dr. Phil book in the mail on Friday. I'm gonna start on that later today. It's so hot and humid, nothing else to do. Congrats on your 2 lb loss! I'm starting hard this week. Trips over, PMS is over. Good timing.

RosieKate - those Edy's whole fruit popsicles are delicious! I have tried MANY of them! Another hottie who is quite the dim bulb to listen to is Keanu Reeves. I think the character he played in Bill and Ted's wasn't really acting. It was him!

Cristi - Aww, I have a ton of laundry to do also. Perhaps I can get you to clean out my car? It is a disaster. I would think about but it's supposed to rain through Tuesday.
