Hiya Jen~I completely forgot you were going to Chicago. DS and I went to see Jessica Simpson at the amphitheater in Kansas City and I totally love the outdoor concerts now, and they had humongous speakers so the sound was perfect! You are right, a concert is supposed to be LOUD! Sorry, it wasn't so great for ya. I was worried it was going to rain on us. Sorry ladies, cleaning one car was enough for me. I am still hurting today, but my car is clean. Now to finish the laundry.

Jana~when you mentioned the Eagles I thought you meant the group. Can't remember you mentioning a place called the Eagles, oh well. Sounds like you ladies are quite the chatters. Glad you ladies are having fun in the chat room.

HI to EVERYONE ELSE.

As I said, I need to get my laundry finished. Have two loads to fold, and probably another to wash. Then I am taking a lazy Sunday to read the newspaper and finish my book. Headed to AR tomorrow so not sure when I will post again or when I will be back. Don't know who has a computer there so...I will try to post if possible. Take care and see ya later...

Hello ladies--

Chatting last night was fun! Hoping that more of us can go in there and really get confused with all the yappin going on together!! :D

Cristi--James did my advatar and I have no idea how he did it. It took time. In fact, we were trying to figure out how to change mine and we still are having problems. I need to get an updated picture. You're dog is so cute!!

Jen--Welcome back. Sounds like you had a good weekend. And I can just picture your kitty attacking your fingers! How cute!!

Jana--Hello there lady!! Enjoyed our chat.....must come up with more topics to talk about. And hopefully next time I won't have James calling me every 2 mins. for help....that way you won't be singing to yourself!!

Morning to everyone else!!
Not sure what's on the agenda for the day....Jame is leaving for Portland for two weeks tonight....he's still debating if he'll even come home on the days he does have off. We'll see.

Better get my day going....need coffee!! :coffee:

Hi ladies,

Cristi - LOVE THE NEW AVATAR!!!! Such a cute doggie! I know you aren't looking forward to AR, but have a safe trip anyway.

Marti - I know, I didn't mean to bore you and Angie about finances, lol. Sorry about that.... Let's stick to fun topics! Give James a big ol' kiss goodbye from all us Jaded Ladies, lol. http://67.15.13.185/forums/images/sm...uddysmooch.gif

Jen - glad you had a good time even if the concert wasn't loud enough. Don't need any postcards of tractors - got them going up and down the road all day, lol. You're gonna like the book by Dr. Phil. I don't agree with EVERYTHING he says, but most of it made a lot of sense. The gist of it is, either do it, or don't. And if you're gonna do it - make your world fit around it. Works for me, and I know it will work for anyone who has their mind made up, lol.

I've been working on my Disney stuff, making a list of what I want to send ahead by UPS to save luggage space. Stuff like breakfast bars, snacks, paper plates and any stuff we won't be bringing back. Mary and Gina are gonna send diapers, etc.

BBL,

RosieKate 07-11-2004 06:07 PM

Jana- I'm glad you mentioned the factoid about the 0 point foods....I've been sitting here chowing down on organic cucumbers and carrots and thinking that I could just eat away and IT'S ALL ZERO!!! I eyeballed it after reading your post and I have about 3 servings, so it went into the calculator. Also appreciate the tip about Edy's. I've had the whole fruit sorbet from a pint, but not in a popsicle. Have to look for those....

Christi -glad you had fun at the concert. Your description reminded me of when DH and I used to go to the Mt. Hood Festival of Jazz. We'd get there early and spread out blankets on the lawn and just settle in for the whole day and listen to jazz. It was so cool! Over the years, I saw Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Tito Puente, Mel Torme...so many great performers who are no longer with us. We stopped going about the time we had kids, but still have those great memories. I do think Jessica Simpson has a great voice....I can see how it would have been a good concert. Hope AR goes well...

Marti - Have fun with that swing - We've been having great weather to be swinging out on the deck. Bummer about James having to be away for two weeks, but it is only a two hour drive......Maybe you could drive up here? Portland's got a lot of fun stuff to do..you could make it a romantic weekend away....

Jen- absolutely - rock concerts are supposed to be loud! Just read that a kid from Oregon has taken over for one of the KISS members. Hope he did the hometown proud.

Well, Mom came and packed up the table for me. What a relief. My house smells normal now. Actually, the longer we had it, the smoke smell seemed to dissipate, so I think once its shampooed it will be back in good shape. I am glad to have my house back to normal - just alot of family in and out over the last couple of weeks. While I love my family, it hasn't always been easy. So next week, I get to just kick back , and not be the hostess with the mostest for awhile. Yahoo!
Too bad no BB/AR fans. But I know there are some Last Comic watchers here....Was so happy Ant got the boot. He drove me bonkers...I think Tammy is the one really running the show... I'm still not sure I'm all that into BB this time around. It's more fun to follow on the internet, believe it or not. But the Amazing Race is one of my fave shows. Aside from these I mentioned, I watch History Detectives on PBS and that's the extent of my TV viewing. I don't watch too many dramas becuse I go to bed pretty early. I like to read for while before I go to sleep.
Movie plug: Last night we watched Calendar Girls with my mom and her DH. We all gave it a big thumbs up.....

Tomorrow's my WI day - so tata til then....DH is going to his book group meeting tonight, so I doubt I'll get back on the computer til tomorrow

Hi to Everyone and enjoy what's left of the weekend!

Hi ladies,

RosieKate - the free veggies are always free, no matter how many you eat. But on stuff like sf hot chocolate, etc, you have to count it after 3 servings. (some people say 5) Sorry for not making that clear... I hope you read this tonight so you can eat more points and not go to bed hungry, lol. :crossed: good luck with WI tomorow.

Angie - yep, I'll mail the package to the resort and write on all sides "hold for (my name) , arriving (date). They will accept the packages up to 3 days before we arrive, which is in October.

Hi to the others!

It has been so hot and humid, with little storms popping up here and there, so I've stayed in all day. I'm getting cabin fever, lol. It was even too muggy to take my coffee on the patio this morning!

BBL,

Marti 07-11-2004 09:54 PM

Hello again ladies-

Just checking in to see what you all have been up to. My computer has been slow today...finally can stay on longer than a few minutes!

Jana--Where did you get that smilie of them kissin on the cheek? It's cute!! Sure wish they could add more to the list they already have! You didn't bore me at all.....I was just teasing. It was fun being able to chat. I can picture us sitting at a cafe drinking coffee....or wine as Angie and I were doing....and just yappin away! I'm sure if we met and actually had that wine...the yapping would get all silly!

Angie--Strawberry/Rhubarb pie?? I love it!! I haven't had any for some time...and my grandma was the only one who made it.....I will have to find her recipe and make myself some.

RosieKate--Weather has been nice!! I'm loving it, and my lawn isn't! But I do like not having to mow as often!! :D

Well girls..I better get myself going. I've got laundry going for James...needs to get himself packed up for the week.

I'll check back in tonight.

Hi ladies,

Cristi - I saw you posted on the word thread, where are you? Once again, your new avatar is sweet! What's her name, btw? Anyway, have a good trip and check in if you are able.

Marti - look for a PM from Suzanne. About the kissing smilie, I copied it from another site, lol. It's just too cute, don't you think?

RosieKate - hope you didn't get too hungry after me being so unclear about the points! So sorry about that! How's wi?

Hi to the other JLs out there, and any lurkers, too.

Since Cristi will be gone for an undefined time, and I'm leaving for 2 days myself, I have asked Suzanne to enable Marti as another moderator. Anyone with a prob should PM her, okay?

DD Katie and I will be going to Evansville tomorrow, late morning. I sure wish Cristi and her DD were still coming... you will be missed! But we understand the circumstances. Katie is excited about getting school clothes, and since I couldn't get a refund on the room (a king suite) we are staying over and being lazy, lol.

Hey my WI went pretty well. I lost 2 lbs :D Finally broke through my month long plateau - wahoo!

Feeling pretty good about WW. It certainly is easier to use than other food plans I've tried ( Zone and Diabetic Exchange). The trick for me will be to not blow those precious flex points!

Jana - enjoy your trip. Your points advice wasn't all that confusing, I'm still feeling my way around the basic points info, so you were really quite helpful. Fortunately, I've had alot of nutrition education over the years, so I have a good knowledge of portions and a pretty good low-fat kitchen/pantry set-up. The WW is really helping me with my personal accountability issues. DH is a sugar booger which causes me some angst - really hard to get that stuff out of the house completely, so I need to develop some habits to use to control my own triggers in that area.

Hi to everyone else...Can't stay too long this a.m.. Waiting to hear about an angiogram for my MIL's SO. We received an email from her this a.m. saying she took him to the hospital yesterday....so we are all a little on edge...hope he's going to be ok.

Good Morning ladies--

I slept in a little this morning. I looked at the clock at 9:00 and thought I better get up...then I came here and browsed around all the places I've recently posted at (I'm a wondering soul!) and here I am!

Where is everyone this morning??? I'm surprised to be the 3rd one posting!

Jana--I hope you and Katie enjoy yourselves for the next two days!! Don't get into any trouble, don't talk to strangers, look both ways before you cross that street and make sure you're in bed a decent hour!! :D And no kissing boys!!

(can you tell I need a cup of coffee? I'm still loopy!)

RosieKate--Congrats on the 2lbs!!! How great is that? I will be doing more paying attention to what goes in my mouth and move more and working on the smoking. I think it's time that things work for me!!

Morning to the rest of you. I better get off of here...my dogs want to go out. They're looking at me with a stinky smile!!

BBL on tonight

Marti

Hello ladies and Welcome Heather!! Glad to have you join us. We're a bunch of fun girls who like to chat about everything under the sun! :D I'm married to a James also. So hop on in and just start yappin away!!

Well ladies, I went out to the patio and decided to rearrange some things back there to clean it up a little more. I busted my butt off--wait, let me see, nope it's still there, well I worked hard cleaning things up anyway. I moved the deep freezer over...that was a challenge  , but it's moved. And I took away some things (like a door, area rug, and boxes of crap) and put those into the shed. (Love that shed!! ) So now the corner is cleaned up a bit and I'm sweating like a lunatic!! :spin:

That kept me busy for almost an hour. Kept my mind off smoking and nibbling. It's in the back of my head girls....I'm going to do this. Lose the weight and quit smoking!! Only 6mos. before the year is over and I want to at least be somewhat close to my goal weight!!!

I want to join you ladies who are losing weight. I love seeing your signatures going down in number!! Mine won't budge. But.....IT WILL!!!

Ok..time to clean up....I can't stand to smell myself, imagine if I had unexpected company!!

Welcome Scorchin - Another James, ha ha. Marti's DH is a James and so is my DS. Someone else on this forum has a James, too, but can't remember off the top of my head? It's a great name to go with some great guys :)How do you like GA? Is your DH stateside or (gulp) Iraq?

Marti - I know everyone here is going to support you on quitting smoking. If you are up for it, maybe it would be a good 21 day challenge? I'll be over there w/ my own challenge, so we'll help each other out.
Thanks for the good wishes, it does feel good to finally see the scale move in the right direction...
Still haven't heard about Roberto's angiogram, but DH and I are thinking no news is probably good news in this case....
