Stay At Home Moms #206!
Welcome all to a thread full of wonderful women taking on the responsibilty of raising a family and trying to take care of themselves too. Please feel free to jump right in a say hello and to all you regular posters I look forward to another wonderful day with you! |
I'm first I'm first!! YaY ME!!!!!!!! lmao Only cuz ur all asleep, I know...but still. I'm easily excited hehe.
Penny, in ur last post in the old thread u mentioned swimmers ear? We have drops over here called AquaEar that u apply straight after swimming and they dry out the ear canel preventing bacteria growth. For all I know, u have the same and u've already tried them without success, but just in case u haven't I thought I'd mention it. They're great...my kids never have a problem anymore and they live in the pool in the summer. I miss summer :( It's too cold here. My husband calls me a big wimp...he's British and it gets alot colder over there than it does here obviously...but still...I don't like cold. It's almost 3pm and I'm still on track. I should be working but I just can't get motivated. Everytime I open up paintshop I close it again. Oh well..probably best not to do anything when I feel like this...might do more damage than good lol. ooohhh there's reruns of the Nanny on TV...might go watch it. I'm so sad lmao bye byessssss Nikki :queen: |
Nikki,
Congrats on being still on plan at 3pm. AWESOME!!!! GO GIRL!!!! And thanxs for the tip on the ear meds. I haven't hear of that here but I WILL definitely check into it. It sounds like what I need! Thanks so much! Have a great afternoon!!!!! |
Hey everyone! Just a real quick check- in to see how you all are doing! First off, I have missed like 2 threads since I first posted!!! What happened!!! Now I have forgotten all the questions I was asked!! I’ll try to answer them right quick. I am from Port Arthur Tx. I’m living in Pawleys Island SC. My ultimate goal weight would be 125... But I’ll take 135  I am having a hard, hard time right now. I took some midol last night and was cleaning to house until 4 am!! So of course this morning I didn’t get but 35 minutes of exercise in....and I really wouldn’t say it was high impact either. My pedometer only has 3636 steps on it, but that has been since 7 or so. I forgot to put it on earlier. I took only 1 midol today...but I'm already up late. I'm packing up stuff that we don't use.... SO MUCH! Now I don't know where I’m going to put it...but who cares! The point of all of that ramble is....even though I did drink my water, and exercised I give myself a 0!!! I've never cheated this bad since I've started.....in March.... This really sucks.... But i'm also not used to having PMS!
Anyways, on top of that I have some kind of cold. I am also eating my butt off.... I made the mistake of eating at hardees today. They didnt have a nutrition guide... BIG MISTAKE! Now I'm starving...but I cant afford to eat anything else. I usually weigh-in at the first and end of the month...but I skipped it, I'd rather wait until Saturday. I also ate a snickers and an ice cream!!! That is soo unlike me! I HATE TOM!!!! Everyone I havent forgotten about you!! I promise to comment on everyone tomorrow! But I'm too tired to try to go back to the other thread right now my aol REALLY SUCKS and it cuts off and freezes constantly. So you will be hearing me say that a lot!!! .... That‘s why I‘m not leaving a comment-full post... gotta hurry up before it cuts off again!. But I do want to thank everyone for their support. I just added another 70 calories of these f/f chips and now my tummy hurts!! My lil sister just decided to do a 1 mile WATP tape at ummm 1 am!!! So I might as well join in before I go to bed….nothing else to do!!! So I gotta go chickies...I'm tired already!!! !!! Talk with you all tomorrow! |
It's after 1AM
Thanks to a late nap, Christian is still up and so am I!!!
DH got burned today by hot metal from the welders up above him. Burned through his clothes and already blistered and peeled in some places on his shoulder. He is okay, he even finished working. But he will have some nasty sores from it. I did okay today and would consider exercising now if I thought it wouldn't keep me up all night. I did drink water and eat pretty well. Now Christian is making a milk mess, so I will go clean it up...that's what I get for thinking I was bored!!! Til Tomorrow! |
hey girls!!
I just got home from work, I'm only scheduled 5-9 but I always stay later and hang out and get paid for it lol. I really like the girls I work with and can't wait for our girls night out at the comedy club tomorrow evening!! Welcome to the new comers, I'm Michelle full time sahm to 2 yo taylor and 8 mo Teagan, I do work part time in the evenings so I can get out of the house but my kids and family are my full time job :) Crystal I don't want you to think I was lecturing you hun, I just want to make sure you and your lil punkin are in good health :) Geri girl we need to go out to margaritaville and compare stories about our lil   Taylor has been so mean to the baby lately, poor lil thing :( Sometimes I feel like I'm losing my mind lol. Spryng did you get a workout in?? Penny You know I love you too!! You are one of my closest friends, I'm so glad you are here with me :) :grouphug: Cindi I hope your hubby feels better from his sunburn soon! Well guys if I missed anyone I'm sorry I'm exhausted and heading to bed. Love to you all! Michelle |
As I sit here and type, Christian is bringing me potatoes out of the bag...one at a time...I think the meds he is taking are hyping him up, he is acting crazy. Now he is taking the potatoes to the kitchen sink, one at a time...Sigh!!!!
Michelle...it wasn't sunburn, it was burns from welding on the construction site. He was just walking and the welders up above on the next floor weren't very careful and the hot metal fell on him. I have some burn cream that will help, he will live. But I know it had to really hurt when it happened. it left splatter marks over his shoulder and alot of his back. Must rescue my potatoes from the kitchen trash now! maybe I'll be back! LOL!!!!   |
OMG duh!!! I even read that you said welding lol but it just shows you how tired I am lol. Rescue those taters girl lol!!! I'm off to bed!! Have a great night cindi!!
|
Cindi,
I am so sorry that your hubby got burned by the welding. I am gonna have to ask my hubby about that! That is horrible. I will keep him in my prayers. And hopefully Christian finally wore out and went to bed! Michelle, It is so great that you are getting out with the girls at work. Let us know how things go tonight! Sounds exciting! Jaymi, Thanks for posting Have a great day ladies! I have alot to do today but I will check in later this afternoon! :) |
'Morning!
Penny- thanks for starting the new thread...I had sort of thought about doing so yesterday (or was it the day before?) but thought better of it cause of all the newbies out there. But then, with this one being so busy a shorter thread is SO much easier to keep track of. I am glad you started one. SOunds like you have a busy, fun weekend planned. Is the walk a fundraiser? Hope the weather cooperates for you and your plans. Enjoy your busy day. CIndi- gee, I hope your Dh is ok! Can't imagine burns from welding- so hot..... Michele- glad you are enjoying your job. It makes life so much nicer if you like the people you work with (one of the many reasons I left my position as a tech writer- creepy coworkers). Nikki- glad you made it back here!!!!! Were you born in Austrailia??? And how did you end up marrying someone from the UK? (sorry, the distance between countries is just so huge, forgive me for being nosey). We used to have another poster from Austrailia back in the very early days of the thread, Jackie (if and when she posts) is probably the only other one here to remember her....I think her name was Belle.....anyway hang in here with us! I always thought it was great how we could all feel close to each other thru this thread and physically be so far apart. Jayme- hang in there! Tomorrow is another day, and leave the stress eating behind you. Hope you got that WATP tape in. Are you drinking water? (try that instead of eating). As far as fast food goes.....I know from experience (and also this is what WW teaches, and most of their advice can be used for any weight loss plan) is to plan, plan, plan. Try not to go into a fast food place (or any restaurant) with a kid in a candy shop mentality. Go in knowing that you will order a salad.....or grilled chicken sandwich (w/o the mayo, of course!) or whatever healthy alternative works best for you- or even order a kids meal (dammage control if you MUST have those fries). It all comes down to planning......Try not to beat yourself up and start today anew. Geri- I love your garden! Aw who cares if the previous owner put it in.......it looks great. What veggies are you putting in? Hi to everyone else......I am getting tired and had better get moving or I will fall asleep. Dd came home late last nite, and of course Mom can't sleep unless all are safely here.....plus she got a phone call at 10:30 pm while I was cat napping on the couch waiting for her (she got home at 1). Will someone please tell me when I get my life back? (and then I will miss all the insanity of raising kids....go figure). Got some gardening to do today (gotta pick more lettuce and weed), want to continue on moving the wood pile (we have a wood burner) and hopefully this afternoon finish staining the deck (started that yesterday). All that in with the other stuff, Dd's swimming lessons, gotta take Ds for a blood test for food allergies and maybe take Dd out for a road test for a car........boy am I glad that I am out of work for a few weeks. Sorry not to get personal with everyone else- gonna go catch some news while I get a wee workout in. See ya and have a great day! Ginny |
A WI in Georgia . . .
Yes, ladies, that's right. It's my WI day! Today the scale reports that I am 158 lbs for a loss of one pound this week, bringing my grand total to 14 lbs lost. Of course, this means I did not reach my mini-goal of a 15 lb loss by today, but a pound is a pound . . .
I now think Liam does know what mama means. he's begun saying it more in reference to me or when he wants me. This morning, I was in the shower, and he was crawling around and said, "Mama." And then DH took him into the bathroom to see me where he greeted me with a big smile :) Tose kind of moments make all the super frustrating parts worth it. Geri - I say take credit for great gardening. I can say this because plants die if I even glance their way, so I think it's some in-born talent people like you have :) Penny- Hey! Don't beat yourself up. You're in a little slump. I've been in a half slump myself - kind of lacking in motivation to exercise and also dreaming a lot of eating McDonald's everyday. I know I need to somehow recommit. Maybe we can think up a way to energize our motivation together? If you don't mind the question - are you Eastern or Greek Orthodox? From your description of the celebration this weekend, it sounds like one of the Orthodox faiths, but maybe I'm wrong! Nikki- Hi!I hate cold too. I'm a humidity-lovin' tropical beach lovin' kind of girl  I always think it's interesting because when I see photos of Christmas in Australia, it's warm and summery - like it is here in Florida. I think it's interesting because it makes for a different feel to the holidays, KWIM? I have a good friend from this little island called Mauritius, which you've probably heard of - they have the same seasons as you. Cindi - eek! Sorry to hear about DH - hope it all heals up quickly. Jaymi - hi! I'm sorry you're under the weather and feeling down. Be kind to yourself and let your body recover. Michelle- did you get some rest last night? Ginny- aghhh! I can't think about Liam staying out late or driving. Of course he will one day, but right now the very thought of it makes me nervous  Jerk Beef Recipe (I used leaner cuts of meat): Serves 2 DRY RUB: 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder 1/2 tablespoons onion powder 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon dried thyme 1 teaspoon ground ginger 1 teaspoon allspice 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper pinch ground nutmeg 2 (4-6 ounce portions) Beef Rib Eye Steaks (or steak cut of your choice) Preheat barbecue grill. If you don't have a grill, plug in your George Foreman, pull out a stovetop grill pan or turn on your oven broiler. In a bowl, mix all the spices and combine well. Sprinkle dry rub on one side of each steak, covering evenly. Rub the dry spice mixture into the meat. Flip the steak over and repeat process. Grill over medium heat until steak reaches your desired level of doneness. If broiling in oven, place meat about 5 inches from broiler, and cook for about 8 minutes per side. Per Serving: 298 Calories; 24g Fat (73.9% calories from fat); 19g Protein; 0g Carbohydrate; 0g Dietary Fiber; 74mg Cholesterol; 61mg Sodium. Exchanges: 2 1/2 Lean Meat; 3 Fat. SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Grilled corn on the cob and a big hearty salad. (To grill corn on the cob, pull off the husks and the corn silk, season with butter, salt and pepper and/or other seasoning of your choice, and wrap in aluminum foil; place on grill.) VEGETARIANS: Grilled eggplant, zucchini, onion, yellow squash and anything else that meets your fancy, with the same seasonings as above. Serve on a bed of brown rice. TTYL! |
Leigh!! I know that Teagan knows what mama and dada are, the other morning she woke up and I was listening to her on her monitor, she started calling for dada first and when dada didn't come get her she started calling for mama it si just soo cute!!
Penny you will get back on the wagon I know you will, just hang in there!! Are you starting over with P1? Well I'm gonna go get these girls some breakfast :) Love to all Michelle |
quicks questions and congrats
Ginny -Great job at your WI !!! OUr scale is broken and my new goal is to get one soon so I can start keeping track! Also the Jerk recipe looks great, can't wait to try it!
What is a "DH" - I think it means your talking about your husband or something? Hope I am on the right track! Jaymi - Every cloud has a positive lining, pull something positive out of a crappy day to focus on! (I should practice what I preach! lol !!!) :soap: Cindi -my DH works demolition, I fell your pain, and his! I told mine I should just get him golden crutches with his name engraved. THank god he is in the office now! MIchelle - I'm glad to hear that you like your job! I have a PT job too, I help clean 3 banks, 2 nights a week for a couple hours, its cleaning  but sure is a nice get away and that is 2 nights I don't have to worry about bed time for Sydney! shes asleep before I get home! WHoo-hoo! Well ladies, off to get my day going. THanks again for the warm welcome, I look forward to sharing my life with you all and sharing in yours as well! :grouphug: |
whoops - Sorry Leigh, I think I called you Ginny - just call me "not awake yet".
|
Ginny - (now I remember what i wanted to say to you! haha!) My daughter has a power wheels jeep, I can't even picture 13 years from now when she begins to drive. I think I will be a basket case. Good luck!
|
OMG Leigh I'm sooo sorry, I forgot to congratulate you on your loss!! Way to go girly you are doing awesome!!
Kristin I know its just wonderful to be out of the house even for just a few hours a week. I keep my patience much better (I think) Ok back to cleaning. TTYL Michelle |
Hi Michelle and Kristin! Thanks for the kind words about my loss.
Kristin - DH is "Dear Husband" - did someone else already answer that question? Anyway, hope that helps :) Michelle- well, maybe Teagan and Liam can get together and have a little conversation about mama and dada  Might go for a quick trip to target once Liam wakes up from his nap, but I'm not positive. We'll see . . . |
Morning Gals.
I've been feeling so much better. I only start feeling bad when I get hungry, every few hours. If I eat, I feel better. I don't know why or how it happened so fast. I hope it stays this way. WELCOME KRISTIN, I absolutely love your name. I really wanted to name one of my kids that, but we went with A's. All of them start with A's. I'm Crystal, 26 yo, sahm of 3, almost 4. Alisa 5, Ally 3, and Andrew 19 months. I'm due February 1st. So glad you found us. You shouldn't ever need any more support than what you get here. This place is great. I stuck around after I found out I was pregnant so I could hopefully make this one a healthy one. Hopefully I can get back to counting calories and exercising in my second trimester, which I'm 3 weeks away from. Welcome aboard. Jaymi, I am so sorry you're having such a hard time. I know things can really get ugly sometimes, remember that they always get better, always. I know that's easier said than done. Hope things start to look better for you. Penny, hope you have so much fun this weekend, you're gonna be one busy mama. Michelle, I know you were just concerned and that's wonderful. Spryng, where are you??? Cindi, I am so sorry you were up so late or early. Hope today is good for you. What does everyone have planned for this 4th of July weekend? I have NOTHING planned. My MIL was gonna have something, but she cancelled that. I think my dh's grandparents may cook out but that's it. We live out in the country and I think we'll just stay outside and enjoy the fireworks from all around. Hope everyone stays really safe. I've got my errands to run today, actually just cleaning my mom's house I think. Well, I'll check in later. |
WoW! I go to bed one night without posting first and a new thread is started with 2 pages worth of posts!!!! AHHHHH!!! LOL... I feel so behind and I posted like crazy yesterday. :)
Ok, I will try and catch up. First, My WI! I'm down to 127.5!! A 2.5 lb loss this week!!! I can't believe I'm only 2.5 lbs from my personal goal! I'm so happy to see a loss like that, it really does insure me that my long plateau really is over. also, my dinner last night came out good (I had honey bbq flounder, didn't have any salmon) and it was light and tasty. The recipe called for bacon on the fish so I did that but then I cooked up the rest of the bacon for the kids and that's what they ate for dinner, bacon and potatoes and green beans, lol. But i guess protein is protein. They will eat fish whole heartedly if I don't tell them what it is. But I slipped last night and told them it was fish so they thought GROSS! LOl and wouldn't touch much of it. O-well... next time I'll stick with "it's chicken, really!" LOL. Other than that my evening went fine. I was just so tired by last night for some reason. I didn't have any energy to clean the house up before bed time or read the kids a book. They went straight to bed and so did I. My back was hurting too, I think when I did my bootcamp dvd I pulled a muscle in my back, between my shoulder blades. But it's better today. ok, enough about me... let's get personal! :) Crystal, I'm so glad you found out your are 9 weeks along. That may mean an end to your morning sickness is sooner than you think. At 10 weeks along the placenta takes over for the baby and most women stop getting morning sickness. So only one more week to go! When do you your weeks change? What day of the week I mean will you be 10 weeks along? Have you started buying anything for the baby yet? Leigh, is there such a thing as a quick trip to Target? LOL... I thought that was an excursion! Congrats on losing that lb!!! Fantastic! And it's normal to feel like you are in a slump with ww. or any plan for that matter. I've been there, Ginny has been there. I think we all have. But look at your progress so far and look at what you can eat and it makes it worth it, it really does. You are deprived of nothing you just have to fit it into your pts and that is wonderful. So hang in there and maybe that zeal you had at first will come back. Wait until you go down another pant size, that excitement is enough to keep you going! My size 10's are finally baggy!! I may see an 8 really soon afterall which means that whole 9 week plateau was worth it because I waited it out and now I'm on the move again. So hang in there! Ginny, sounds like you have been so busy lately! So did your dd ever find a college she will attend this fall? I know that was a long ordeal for you a while back. How was her graduation? Emotional? Cindi, that potatoe story had me cracking up! Tanner was into my potatoes yesterday too! But every potato he got out he took a bite out of, lol. He was so proud of himself, lol. They are cute when they are young. Michelle, no I didn't get a workout in yesterday because thursday are my day off. I heard it's best not to workout the day before WI because your muscle will retain water after a workout. So it's just a "thing" with me, LOL. Probably not a great theory but it makes me feel my WI's are more accurate. But I do plan on getting a workout in today. Maybe my Firm Abs. We'll see. Definitely something. wow, there are so many posts and I'm running out of time! LOL. So I guess I better stop there. I'm sorry if I missed anyone and I promise I'll be around alot today so I'll catch you all later and HELLO! to anyone I missed and welcome to our newbies! Please post often! Gotta get dressed, make my bed and start in on this house which I left a mess last night. I plan on working like crazy today on it so I'll TTYL! |
Thanks Leigh for the 'lingo low-down" ;)
Crystal - I am liking my name more and more myself :) I never used to, It was to boring to me. glad you are feeling better this morning! The first trimester is so exhausting and for me was the most difficult too. Hang in there! :o I started last week planning my meals for the week and then shopping and eating accordingly for dinner. It is working great, and saving us $$$, I only buy whats on the list, and don't wander around searching for stuff that I don't need to eat! My DH has the kitchen and dining room all tore up as we are laying new laminate wood floor this weekend, and my parents always have a big 4th of July thing, so those are our plans, and maybe the zoo on mondya the 5th since its a holiday everyone has off, my dh could go with us! that would be fun. We have such a great zoo here, and sydney always takes such a great nap after we return home! :cp: well off to finish planning my meals and then I need to run to the store, catch you all al little bit later! |
Kristin, welcome! I didn't get a chance to welcome you before. I am Spryng (pronounced spring) mother of 3. I think planning your week before hand is a great idea! That way there is no wondering around your kitchen when you are hungry wondering what to fix, you know? I do a menu too. The zoo sounds like fun! We went a couple months ago and it was alot of exercise too.
Leigh, I was popping in on the ww boards (on ww.com) and came accross this thread and it's just what you were talking about. These women share how they keep their inspiration and motivation to keep plugging along with ww. Here is the link: http://www.weightwatchers.com/commun...e=OPENDATEDESC ok, gotta get. Bye! |
Hi all, fixing to leave to go clean mom's house.
Spryng, I'm not sure when my weeks change. The doc took 2 sonos and one said I was 8.6 and the other said 9.3, so we avereaged that at 9 weeks. Since I don't know I may make my own week change every Wednesday, you know midweek. I go back July 27th and the next time after that in August, they may be able to see what it is. No I haven't bought anything. I need a carrier, swing, clothes, blankets, bottles and a new baby bed, but I don't want to buy that stuff brand new if this is definitely my last. Next weekend, my sister and I and my two best friends spend an entire day garage saling and have SO MUCH FUN, so I'm gonna be looking for alot of that stuff. My FIL's wife had a girl in April, so she's keeping everything in case I have a girl, I'll get alot from her. Anyways, I've got to go clean. Sorry about your back, glad it's better today. Have a good day. |
HI Spryng - Congrats on the loss, I can't wait to be in your shoes! I'll be back to cat more later! :) have a great rest of the morning ya'll !!
|
Good morning everyone. Welcome to all the newbies. I am Ricci (pronounced Ricky) sahm to two boys, RJ 3, (4 in two and a half weeks) and Eric 5. Eric will be in kindergarten this fall, and I am going to go to cosmotology school. There is way to many posts to catch up on right now. I can't belive how late some of you were up last night. I got my house cleaning done this morning, and the boys really helped me this time. Got my exercise in too. Hope you all have a fantastic OP holiday weekend.
|
OH My God, I stay quiet for one day and the board practically explodes!! LOL Now I feel lazy for not keeping up. LOL
Well, I'll try and catch up this afternoon eventually. Things are OK here, still on track but still no TOM! So I'm feeling really bloated etc... and achy. I had a dream last night I was pregnant and really happy. It was really weird, I just kept looking at the pee test stick and smiling, wondering how to tell Steve. Bizzare dream to have considering the week I've had with the twins don't ya think? LOL ;) Nikki, it's so weird to hear you talk about the cold, I keep forgetting where you are. I live in California, so you can imagine what it's like here. Actually the past couple of day have been mild, not too hot, because of the Delta breezes. Love that. Jaymi, hope you get things back on track soon. In the mean time don't stress out about it too much and blow it out of proportion. Just keep plugging away and I hope you feel better soon. Cindi, sorry to hear about your hubby's accident at work. How is he feeling? Geri and Michelle, we should ALL go to Margaritaville to compare stories of our little devils. I could really use a Margarita. ;) Leigh, congrats on the LOSS! You go girl and keep up the good work. We are all so proud of you!! Crystal you sound like you are feeling better. This weekend we are just doing some work in the backyard, making it pretty and BBQing. Our favorite thing to is plan elaborate meats to cooks. Should be fun. Spryng, you must be soo thrilled to break that plateu, what an awesome job you are doing and truly an inspiration to us all. All the hard work, finally paying off. Great Job! :) :) :) :) :) Kristen, Hi there, I don't think I got to introduce myself to you yet. :) I'm Diane (Di) and I have twin boys, Logan and Ethan who will be two years old on July 26th. I'm currently counting points with Weight Watchers and eat more South Beach style. I'm trying to lose like 25-30 pounds. Goal weight being 135-140. Guess I'll just see when I get closer. Anyways, nice to meet ya. Boys are pitching a fit again, so Hi to everyone else I didn't get to talk at. -Di |
My Weigh In!!!!
Okay, so I finally went to sleep around 3:30am, Christian was out by about 2, but then DH was snoring SOOOO Loud I could hear him in the living room!!!!Even after that late night Christian was up before 10, so I am slow moving today. But I got my shower and that has picked up the pace a bit. Need to call the doc about his meds making him hyper.(Note to self)
AS for my weigh in...I am down to 197!!! So if you count the 3 pounds I gained(You would, wouldn't you?) and the 1.5 pounds I am down from the week before, that's 4.5 pounds down this week!!!!!!! A good weigh in is all it takes for me to get back on track and get motivated! It's so nice to see a new number on the scale. I haven't seen this one since before I was PG with Christian and he's almost 2. Maybe we need to all concentrate on an exercise challenge(even just 15 minutes, if that's all we can do!) a water challenge or one area to work on for a week or two, so that we all can get on track together. Feeling a small success will help keep us going. What do you all think? Back later, Christian is into something by now I am sure!! LOL! |
Hello again!
Cindi congrats on that 4.5 lb loss!!! And yes I count what you gained the week before as a loss... I mean a lb is a lb right? And you had to re-lose that 3# gain so it's counts!! Great job!! And I am all for an exercise challenge... maybe we can start with 15 min per day if we want to do more we can and if not stick with 15 min with one day off or something like that??? I am with you! Di are you 100% sure you can't be pregnant?? BC is only 99% effective you know ;) But I have those dreams about being pregnant too and I know it will be another 4 years before I have to worry about that again. Sometimes in my dreams I'm really happy to be pregnant and sometimes I'm angry and upset. So who knows how I'd react in real life. I think at first I'd be upset just because I want my body back you know? But another baby would be welcome in our hearts and home if it happened and I do love being pregnant so it wouldn't be that big of a deal. lol. Ricci sounds like you have been productive today! And don't let all the posts overwhelm you, just jump in where you can! Crystal, sounds like you need everything for this baby. I did alot of yard saling when I was pregnant with Tanner. I got rid of everything so I needed to buy stuff cheap (dh wasn't in a good job then and then his whole back problems happend and he had no work for 12 weeks) What kind of bottles do you use? I have those playtex bottles with the disposible bags... I bought like 60-70 of them off ebay! LOL. Ebay is a great place for baby stuff. Kristin, I think you will be in my shoes before you know it. I've been part of this thread for almost 3 years now so I've been battling my weight here for quite some time. I did hit my goal weight over 2 years ago (then it was 135) but this is the first time to hit my goal weight and then go even lower so I feel good about that. But after 3 kids my poor body needs some work still! LOL. It not all about the scale, body fat counts too and according to my body fat percentage I'm still very much fat, lol. O-well... I'm working on it. :) ok, I have dinner in the crock pot. Greens and Beans (17 g of fiber per serving!!) what are you all having? gotta go! |
Brother, am I glad I was here this am.........this is so busy!!!!! No way I will keep up with the posts.....hi to everyone.....and I am NOT having fun with either of my two teenagers at this point..... How can you love somebody to much and want to strangle them so badly at the same time?????
COngrats to the losers out there.......I skimmed the posts enough to see that there were quite a few of them. Off to weed........ Ginny |
LOL, Soryng, yes BC is only 99% but abstinence is garaunteed! ;) It's still remotely possibe but the whole horizontal thing has been very remote for Steve and I this past month. My libido has run away somewhere, I'll let you know the year I find it again. That coupled w/infertilty leaves a pretty remote chance, but hey stranger things have happened.
Cindi, what great news about your big loss! You definately had to re-lose the pounds you gained, so they sure as heck count. Great Job. Ginny, it constantly amazes me how you can love your children sooo much and still want to throttle them. LOL It's hard because everyone keeps telling me that the new issues just keep coming with each age etc, ect... somehow that's not making me feel much better. I'm barely treading water as it is. Then I feel guilty for admitting I'm having a hard time with them. My family knows what I went through to conceive and a few aren't very supportive with comments like "well, it's what you wanted and waited for!" I guess I'm not entitled to have a sh!tty day because of my infertility issues in the past. :( Steve is off on the boat today. I was so jealous as he was leaving that I wanted to cry. It's kind of a "work" thing with his boss and some co-workers, so even if I could find some poor Sap to watch the twins, I wouldn't have been invited anyway. The idea of drifting on the water with a cold beverage, preferable alcoholic, sounds like pure heaven right now. It sounds like I'm having a Pity Party and I forgot the party hats! I'll stop now. :) I'm still on track so far. It's going to be a tough day so I need to keep busy till Steve gets home. I'm praying that I lose at least a pound on Monday. Fingers crossed as I have a long way to go. I'd like to join an exercise challenge as well, sign me up and tell me the rules! hugs to you all, Di |
Here is something that was emailed to me today... thought we could all use a laugh and to nod our head in agreement...LOL enjoy!

Hey Ladies!
If only these posts would burn calories...... sighhh....... LOL I have a house full of kiddos today so I will be running like crazy but I hope you are all having a great day!!! It sounds like you all are! Congrats on all the losses!!!!!!! :cheer: |
Hi . . .
Good afternoon. I'm feeling very down today. I'm feeling very overwhelmed with disorganization and not having any real time to do anything. On top of that, I had a 12 point lunch when I really should be saving my flexpoints for this weekend's trip. I keep thinking I can organize little sections of my home the Flylady way, yet I don't have any real time to fully organze and purge stuff. Guess it's just one of those days
Everyone: thanks for the congrats on my loss. Di- I'm glad you're still on track with the food today. As you can see, I'm not  Anyway, I'm sorry people act like you have no right to feel negative or stressed just because you went through infertility. That is absolutely not fair. Mothering one baby is stressful enough, never mind twins! Spryng- :cheer: on the big loss!!!! Hooray for being past the plateau. Thanks for the supportive words. That thread is exactly how I feel! I bookmarked it to read after posting. I really don't know why I've been feeling so out of sorts. I think I may recommit with vigor on Monday. Thanks for the quotes :) Penny- sounds like you're burning enough calories running after others! Crystal - glad you're feeling a bit better today. Going to garage sales sounds like fun, fun, fun. Kristin - ohh! I love the zoo :) Hey, Ricci :D Cindi - :bravo: on the huge loss - that's awesome!!! I like your challenge idea. I think I need an exercise challenge. Hi, Ginny! Well, I'm going to read the thread Spryng directed me to and see if it ups my inspiration. I think I'm also feeling down because we're going to get someone to come in one day a week to help me with Liam and getting other things done, but for some reason it makes me sad. I feel like the money could go toward home improvement and if I were a stronger person I could handle the baby as well as all this other stuff I have to do. TTYL. |
HOLY :moo: !!!
I was gone for 2 hours and it takes me another hour to catch up to the conversation! haha! Went to the grocery store, took FOREVER for them to slice my cheese and lunch meat, my god! I was so annoyed! Came home, had lunch and put sydney down for a nap, ahh-quiet :) !!! Ricci - nice to meet you! HOw nice you got your house picked up and your children helped! Wish I could say the same! I get the 2 year old answer still of "NO"... LOL !!! Di - hello as well :) I envy you for being in Cali, man, it is the pits living in the midwest weather, especially smack dab in Nebraska, it snows one minute, and is 90 degrees the next! haha! Today its raining and dark out, and extrememly muggy, my hair is a mess - LOL! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and that WI monday. Cindi - congrats on the loss! Thats awesome, I need to get my butt in gear and weigh and measure myself and start keeping track. As far as your suggestion, I'm with Di - sign me up, tell me the rules! Spryng - Thanks for your words of encouragement, I didn't realize hw desprately I needed something like this until I found it, I have a great hubby, he isn't here all day though , and somethings men just don't get..well there is a lot that they don't get but thats another thing! :lol3: To anyone else that I forgot or messed up your name and such, I apologize, and please feel free to straighten me out! haha! I already caught one of my dork ups earlier! Spryng (again) - greens and beans?!?!?! Tell me more............ |
Leigh - Do NOT feel bad at all, its not about you getting "strong" enough to handle it. . . its about you being strong enough to deserve some help !!!!!!!!! I think my favorite day is when my mom comes and takes sydney so I can just do my own thing around the house! I get lots more done and feel like I am a better mom because of it! I feel so happy to see her when she comes home and I have accomplished something other than runnning after her and picking up toys! I felt the same way you did at first though, that I couldn't handle having one child, and what the **** am I going to do when we want more, but then I realized that I was kidding myself and being a stay at home mom is the equivalant of 2 FULL TIME JOBS! Take a day to focus on what you want to accomplish, I promise, you will feel so much better at the end of that day!
okay - well better keep busy for now, need to get this basement cleaned up while I have a fighting chance ! |
Hi all, I'm back from cleaning my mom's. I've still been feeling better today, but alittle tired. Andrew hasn't slept great the past couple of nights.
You girls with one child, now don't get me wrong, having any # of kids is alot, but I think about all the time I WOULD have if I only had one. Believe me one child is alot but you should still have SOME time to do things. Spryng, I've never used those playtex bottles, always the other kind. My well water ruined all of mine so I trashed them, hopefully by the time this baby comes, we'll be in our new house and have a great filter on that well. I hope to find alot when we go garage saling. Well, I'm gonna rest and relax right now. |
Crystal - I must agree - i don't envy you with 3 almost 4 kids. ha! I just think that it is okay to take a day and not just maintain, and really get to some extra projects, etc, that no matter how many kids you have, you can't get done! I do proably have more time since we only have one child but with church stuff, play group and helping out family, etc, etc, I find myself just maintaining the house a lot and not really getting anything "done", like my pictures all organized, or rearrange the medicine cabinet because its overflowing or going through old kids clothes that don't fit ! All of which I need to get crackin' on! ha! we first timers don't have the multi-tasking abilities of you veterans yet! Also I know that Sydney loves every other Thursday with her nana (my mom), and it kind kills 2 birds with one stone for me, time with grandparents, and I get stuff done!
You should rest, and relax, sounds like you need it! Sorry to hear about the restless nights lately! okay now really - I GOTTA get some stuff done around here! This is addicting! :comp: |
Oh Kristin, I do agree. No matter how many kids we ALL deserve to take time for ourselves and do whatever we wish. Totally. Kids are kids are kids...haha!!
|
Hi, Kristin - thanks so much for the kind words. I guess you're right :) I'm feeling better now, thankfully.
Crystal - try your best to get some rest (of course easier said then done  ) Listen to this, gals. Ready for a tale of the interesting?? My mother went to a psychic and listen to part of what she was told. She brought pics of people, but she said in the pictures of Liam she made sure to bring one where he was not showing too much of his personality - like none of the giant smile pictures. The psychic said Liam is extremely active, with a very good sense of humor and a flirtatious streak. She said he gives people little flirty looks/smiles (all true!). She said he'll be walking at 10 months. She said he will not give us any trouble as a child/person. She also said that I will be pregnant in 6 months and we will next have a very quiet girl. She said Liam will do very well with the sibling. She also claimed we might even have more, but wasn't definite about that - just mainly that we're have a girl in our future. So, guess we have to wait and see how accurate this is . . . |
Leigh, that's interesting of course I don't agree with the whole psychic thing. But I suppose that's interesting. Hope all goes well.
|
Crystal - I know - I'm not sure how much I believe, though from lots of other things she told my mother, she was very accurate - like about the death of my mother's boyfriend and all. It's weird.
