Geri - has it been one of those days? Sorry! It can get stressful at times - that's for sure. I can't wait to hear about your WI . . .

Well, the salmon was good, but not great. I would add more spice if I were to make it again, but we like things very spicy. Okay, I'm off to straighten the place up while DH can watch Liam.

Hi Guys,

Leigh...it's been about 3 days. Will has never been as naughty as he has been lately. When they hit 3, they start talking back...arrrrrgh. It's so hard not to beat the crap out of him sometimes . There's a lot of deep breathing going on. Then he'll turn around and be sweet as pie...that's the killer part. Oh well...I'll make it through...I think . Cindi...I don't know how you do it.

Michelle..we have an easy set pool also....it's 10 x 30 I believe and it sure is nice when it's hot outside. Tomorrow and Wed are supposed to be 80 so maybe we'll get some use out of it. Then it's too cool off again . Leigh...only 70 on the 4th...so it'll be quite chilly at night...don't forget your sweatshirt!

WI was a turtle as I had hoped. I missed a couple of workouts this week plus due to going up north ate out a couple of times and then the cookout this weekend at my friends didn't help. It's a new week...well two weeks actually. No WI on Monday the 5th. The building is closed for the holiday.

Nothing new to report so I'll just say hi Crystal, Di, Penny, Ginny, Spryng, Melinda, everyone else (I hate trying to remember everyone because I'm so sure I missed someone...ah Ricci...keep posting chickie)!!

Off to bed. Talk to you all later.

Oooooo yes, deal of the day at the grocery store (for healthy food anyway ) Boca burgers were 2 for $4 and there was a $1.25 off coupon attached ... so 2 packages of burgers for $2.75..wooo hoo! The meal deal for the next 2 weeks is awsome too. Buy the bonless/skinless chick breasts for $3.98/lb get a bottle of Kraft BBQ sauce, deli potato salad (dh will eat that), mardi gras napkins, and a dozen bakery chocolate chip cookies (oh, oh...I'll get into those ) FREE! I don't know how they do it!

Nite, nite.

Good evening all!

Well my evening has been very good. Dinner came out well. I accidentally bought diced tomatoes that were seasoned with chili seasoning so the meal had a little more kick to it than what it called for. But I thought it was good and the kids loved it! And that is what matters to me. When I make new recipes sometimes they have to be forced to even taste it and most of the time they don't like what I make but tonight the mexican lasagna was a winner! Leigh, I'll type off the recipe tomorrow and post it on mom's losing weight for you. Then I watched the magdalene sisters and it was pretty good. Sad though. I felt so terrible for all those women stuck in that convent. I would have had to kill that head nun though. What a witch! So all in all a pretty good day!

Leigh, sorry your sandwiches weren't that great. They still sound really good to me. I don't care for spicy things.
Geri, I ask myself that same question at times. LOL. I hope your evening got better and I'm looking forward to your WI too!
Michelle, is your new pool one of those blue ones that walmart sells?? MIL has one of the big ones. The kids love it. How was your turkey chili?

Well, guess the thread is a bit slow today. I'm exausted for some reason so off to bed with me! LOL. Hope everyone has a great night! Sleep well!!

Red face

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I finally got the courage to get on the scales this morning and I've lost a whole pound!! Only 46 to go lol. Last year I lost that much in 8 months for the wedding. Hope I can do it again (quicker this time actually), but without putting 35lbs back on again!

Then I can get pregnant and fat again YaY!!!! I know, I know...pregnant isn't the same as fat. When I was pregnant with my son I only gained 13 lbs. He was born 9 weeks premature (but very healthy and not as small as expected - 4lbs), so who knows who much I might have gained if he had gone full term. As it was, I left the hospital when he was 10 days old and I weighed 5 lbs less than I did before I was pregnant. It was great.

Next time round sucked...I gained roughly 30 lbs (mostly cuz I ate a pound of M&M's every day for 9 months lol). I'm still suffering for it...my daughter is a nightmare. She's been diagnosed with ODD (don't laugh...I always knew she was odd lol). Oppositional Defiance Disorder. Mostly caused cuz of numerous food intolerances. She's actually becoming somewhat normal since we placed her on an elimination diet as the first step to finding out exactly which foods she reacts too. I sometimes wonder if it was caused from over exposure to artificial colors and preservatives in the M&M's. Seriously lol...I ate THAT many.

Ok, I'm babbling again...so I'm gonna go tidy my kitchen (they tell me it's good exercise).

Oh, before I go I'm attaching a pic of my new baby Mia. She's a boxer, 9 weeks old. I think she's adorable

Default Morning Here

Hey gals! Our whole house still smells liked blackened Salmon

Spryng- you may like the sandwhiches more than I did - of course, I may also have not followed the recipie as well as I should have or something. I definitely think it would have been better if I aded more crushed red pepper to make it more spicy. Hope you had a good rest.

Geri - three days??? Wow, that's a lot. Well, I hope Will's in a better mood today then. THanks for the weather info - I'm packing a couple of layering items for me and Liam. Can you send me some of your Boca Burgers I'll have to pick some up this week.

Nikki- to you on the 1 lb loss!! Awesome! I've never heard of ODD - I'll have to look it up online. And what an adorable pup My friend has a daughter named Mia

Not too much planned for today. I have to mail a couple of packages and run some errands. I'm hoping Liam takes a good nap in the car on our drive home. We're going out for Italian tonight with some friends we haven't seen in a couple of months. Can you believe how much we eat out? I'm telling you, if you lived in Atlanta you'd see how integral it is to everyone's social life here. However, my mother says I do very well eating out and she'd never be able to order healthy things like I do - she'd see other stuff she'd rather have on the menu Uh . . . it's all about choices??? TTYL!

Good Morning Gals!!!
Y'all were busy around here yesterday. I stayed off the computer yesterday not feeling well all day. I feel alittle better today and I have to go buy groceries. But I think I'll wait until this afternoon AFTER nap time.
Spryng, don't you hate when you forget something. I always have a forgot list after I get home from the store.
Nikki, my mom use to breed boxers. They are adorable, but as most dogs, they're adorable when they are little, when they get big they're just annoying.
Geri, sorry no loss, but a maintain is great.
Leigh, that little thing you've got on the bottom of your name to post the age of your son is so cute.
I think yesterday I was still recouping from my trip. Hopefully today I'll be almost back to normal. It looks like I can pick some zucchini and beans from my garden, if it doesn't rain I think I will.
Well, I've got to get breakfast cleaned up. Hope you all have a great day. TTYL

Good morning all!!

Crystal, so sorry your morning sickness is still plagueing you. When is your next doctor appointment?
Leigh, eating out is not such a bad thing. Since so many restaurants are on the weightloss bandwagon it's not too difficult to find something diet friendly at most places. I'm alot like your mother though, if I eat out I need to have flex handy because I want to order something really fattening, lol.
Nikki, congrats on the 1# gone!! That is great. And I think you can get that 40+ lbs off in 8 months. I lost 42 lbs in 7 months and that was with a little stall and losing slowly at the end, so I think it's very doable! And your new puupy is sooo cute! I've been wanting a boxer. There are a couple that run the neighborhood where my MIL lives and I think they are so cute (they are full grown) I wish their owners would breed them because then I'd buy one. I gained alot of weight with all my pregnancies. If I ever got pregnant again I would stick with WW so that I wouldn't gain much weight at all. I'll never let myself put on that much weight again. So hard on the body, even if you are pregnant there is still good weight and too much weight, lol.

Well, I have some stuff planned for today. My movie rental place opens at 10 am and I'm heading down there to pick up Cold Mountain. I can't wait to see that! But before I go I want a shower and I need to get some housework done today. Then after nap time I will go pick up my cousin's son who will be mowing my lawn today. So it's kinda a busy day but not really, lol. Dinner will be chicken parmesan. What are you all having tonight? Leigh, after I get done here I will post that mexican lasagna on the other board so you'll get it today, lol.
ok, well, I need to get off here. TTYL!

Good Morning Girls!!

I am working on my computers today and tomorrow wiping the hard drives and reloading we have just too much spyware and adware on the computers its nuts!! I got the laptop done and now I'm gonna work on Hubbys computer which is the one that runs the internet so I just wanted to pop in real quick incase it ends up taking a while. Grrrr I told hubby no more downloading freeware!! YUCK!!

Oh I forgot to post about my doctors visit the other day!! I lost another 9.5 lbs in the month since I had last saw her!! She is impressed and so happy that I am feeling better!

I'm hoping to take the girls out in the pool again today but, it looks a little overcast grrrrr!!! Geri, do you keep your pool chlorinated? We've been chloronating it and now I think we need to get a pool vac, I don't want to have to fill it again every couple of weeks as my water bill will skyrocket!

I hope you are all having a good day!!

Michelle

Hello again!

Michelle, my MIL does use chlorine in her pool and she does not have to vacuum it. She also has these "shock" tablets that she uses every few days to kill all germs and bactieria that may be growing in it. Their pool stays nice and clear. I hope you do get to go swimming today. It sounds like fun! And congrats on your doctors visit!! 9.5 lbs in a month is awesome!! You really should be proud of yourself.

Leigh, I will let you know how cold mountain is. I can't wait to see it. But I have to watch spartan fist because it has to go back tomorrow (that is that val kilmer film)

Well, got most of my running done today. My kitchen is clean and so is my living room, even vacummed it so things are going smoothly. Guess I'll get off here and find something else to do. TTYL!

Hi all. I've been feeling alittle better today. Been busy all morning and that helps. Getting ready to start lunch, have a nap then go grocery shopping. I think I'll make it buy Blockbuster, I'm dying to see Cold Mountain too.
Spryng, I go to the doc on Thursday. I'll be 7 weeks, so I've got about 1 month left in this trimester and I'm sure hoping those WONDERFUL feelings start coming back in the next one.
Anyways, gotta go for now.

Afternoon everyone!

I had a pretty bad mommy day as well yesterday. The boys were atrocious and I wanted to just run away, or have a really strong drink. LOL Hopefully today is better.

Cold Mountain is next on our movie list as well, I'm excited to see it too. We watched 50 First Dates last night with Drew Barrymore, it was pretty cute and I needed a laugh, so I'm glad we watched it last night.

I'm working on a B-day gift for my sister Lisa. I'm making a candle decorated with pictures of her 2 kids, with the caption "You Light Up My Life" I still need to run out and get some accessories, hopefully L&E cooperate. I'll try and post a pic to you all when I'm done, as it would make cute Christmas presents and not too expensive.

Michelle, you sure have been dealing with a lot of computer issues! I swear I know just enough about it to be dangerous. Great job on your monthly weight loss, isn't wonderful when you can impress that doctor??! How are you doing with the BFL work out program? Is it easy for you to stick to?

Leigh, I'm totally impressed that you CAN eat out so much and still keep losing! You're right it is about choices, I suppose you are also getting good at picking stuff out of a menu and tweaking it to make it work for your diet. I think it's great that you can do it. Hope your errands go smoothly and that Liam naps well for you today.

Spryng thanks for the new recipe, sounds yummy! I actually LOVE spicy, so I always have to kick up things a few notches. LOL Tonight since it's a Yoga night, I will either have a little left over Whole Wheat spahgetti or left over chicken/brown rice casserole. Not sure, just depends on my mood, and of course Steve is on his own. Love these nights. Last night we had soft tacos, made with some lean marinated beef etc... Pretty good, but still not spicy enough for me.

Nikki, congrats on the pound loss!!! I'm sure you lose what you want in the time you allowed yourself. Keep up the good work! Your puppy is Adorable! I have big puppies name Zoe (black Lab/mix) and Havoc (Great Dane)! They are huge, but very loveable and well trained. Couldn't have such big dogs around unless they were trained!

Cystal, feel better soon sweetie. When is your next doctor's appointment?

Geri, hope you have a better Mommy Day today, I hope I have one too! Great deal on the Bocca Burgers, I've never actually had one, but I know how much you love them. It's like the Mother Ship calling you home eh? Enjoy a good meal with them, you've inspired me to look for them at the grocery store.

Off to run some errands and I'll try and check in later.

take care,
Di

Red face Hello!

Hello everyone, I'm Valerie...I've just quit my full time job about two-months ago in Radio Promotions to stay home with my two-year old daughter. I've taken on a part-time job at a movie theatre to keep up with the $$.
I really love being home with my daughter, and now that I have the time, she and I excercise every day with Denise Austin...lol* My favorite fitness guru...lol*
Since I had my daughter I've lost a lot of contact with friends, they are still out dancing and playing while I'm busy being a Mommy & Wife! I miss being young sometimes, and it's really hard to find friends near my age who're married with children, and happy about it! Lol*
I've really been turning to the 3fatchicks message boards for motivation to lose weight, and am really serious about it. Any tips or suggestions from anyone on good meals and eating habits? I have been overweight my entire life and don't want my daughter to have the same problems...meaning I have to start now!

It's me again!

Welcome Valerie! (btw, I LOVE your avatar!! Very cute!) I am Spryng. Mother of 3 kids and wife of one, lol, obviously. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I ask because I went through the same thing with my friends. I'm 24, got married right after I turned 18 and had my daughter two months before I hit 20 so I was a young wife and mother and most of my friends were much older with older kids or younger and not having to deal with the issues I delt with so we couldn't stay connected. So it's nice to come here and re-connect with women going through the same thing I am. I am on weight watchers, what plan are you on? I hit my goal weight in april and have been trying to reach my personal goal weight but it hasn't happened yet. But that is ok. I look forward to getting to know you better and please feel at home with us and post as often as you can! Tell us more about yourself too! oh and about those tips on good meals and eating habits... well if you have the internet you have access to millions of healthy recipes. I would suggest buy a good cookbook (low cal or low carb whatever it is you are into) and trying new stuff every week and making little changes, like including at leat two veggies with your dinner, cutting back on sugar and white carbs like white bread and pasta and just watching your portion control. Get in more exercise and the weight WILL come off. or maybe you can look into a specific plan that meets your needs like south beach diet or weight watchers or atkins... what you think you can do and be happy on you know?

Di, sorry you had a rough mommy day yesterday too. Maybe it was something in the air, lol. Bubba was on a roll yesterday too. That candle sounds so adorable! You'll have to take a pic and post it when you are done. oh! I see you just said that too, lol. Sorry. Your beef soft tacos from dinner last night sounds really good. What did you marinate them in?

Crystal, glad today is a little better for you so far. Do you think your doc will do another ultrasound this time? or do you have to wait awhile now?

Well my afternoon is going fine. Kids were having fun playing their kindergarten cd-rom on the computer. I'm amazed at how quick they picked everything up. My son is learning his shapes without me helping him! That amazes me. I did some crocheting which was relaxing and then got out most of the ingrediants for dinner. I figured if I got most of it out on the cabinet it will be easier to get it going later.
Ok, gonna steal a nap while all is quiet. TTYL!
