  • Hello all!

So glad it is monday! DH just left. He stayed a little longer today to reformat our other computer and get it set up in the living room for the kids. We bought a new computer armoire to put it in (one with closing doors so it can be put away) so he put that together yesterday and the computer all fixed up for it. My computer (the one he fixed) got that Worm virus many months ago and it fried parts of the harddrive and the only way to fix it was to reformat and all that. So now it is working great again! So we have tons of kid software and I'm making that computer into the kids computer for them to do some schooling on. They are excited about it.
My weekend was good. LONG but good, lol. Friday night I made some honey pecan pork cutlets for FIL and he LOVED them. It made me feel good. Saturday we took FIL and MIL out to the movies (saw the chronicles of riddick) and that was fun. Had mexican for lunch, yum! The movie was ok. Vin Diesel looked great of course, the story line was ok but not believable in some parts. And it's made with a cliff hanger so there will be yet another sequal. Maybe it's more a guy film, lol. Sunday we stayed home and dh put together that desk and worked on the computer and we ordered pizza and just had a family night. It was nice. But now the weekend is over and I'm ready to crack down on my eating and exercising. And my house! LOL. It looks terrible. So I'll be working on that all week too.
What is everyone having for dinner tonight? I'm making mac and cheese with chicken. It's a new recipe, it has spinach and such in it too which makes it sound pretty hearty...
Lisa, is that recent picture of you on your avatar?? It's nice to know what you look like! And I think you have the right idea of not counting and just more exercise and watching what you eat. As soon as I hit my personal goal I plan on stopping the counting too and flying solo and seeing how I maintain my weight. But it's nice to know that if the weight isn't budging you can always go back to counting with no harm done.
Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend! I didn't get a chance to read through all the other posts since friday. But I am back now and back in the game!
  • Spryng,
I am so glad you had such a great time this weekend esp with fil and mil. I am glad yall are getting along a little better!

How was your weigh in??? Has fil and mil noticed your dh's weight loss?

I am not sure what I am cooking for supper. Guess I should figure out something.. LOL Thanks for reminding me.... LOL I have some bbq chicken breast and stuff left over from yesterday so I might do something with it.

I will check in later. I need to go see what I am cooking....lol
  • Hi Penny! I did post my WI on friday.. I was back up to 130. But I didn't exercise at all last week or eat 100% op so it could have been worse. I'm going to work hard this week, Dh's Wi, he maintained. Which is good because he had got really sick two weeks ago and couldn't eat anything so this past week his body was holding on to everything he ate... I'm sure he'll start losing again this week. We can tell Dh has lost weight in his face and he's already gone down a pant size, which he is very proud of. BBQ chicken sounds great! You can always shred it and have bbq chicken burritos!
  • Hey there again!
Penny, I've morphed my SBD with counting points on W.W. I love the S.Beach way of eating, and I feel much, much better about cutting down on processed food and crappy carbs. I was having problems with portion control, thats why I've been keeping track with the points system. So far I haven't touched the cake in the freezer, the day is young though, LOL. Sometimes I get these wild ideas about just eating all the bad stuff in the house in one afternoon, to get rid of it. Yeah, I know, it's not wise. I'm such an emotional eater, I just need to keep busy at all times. So I'm killing two birds with one stone and keeping busy by cleaning today.

Dinner tonight? I just don't know. Since We had the filet mignon on Sunday, I will prepare either a chicken dish, or perhaps some salmon. I'm going to make a casserole out of cauliflower as well. I'd better get on that while the boys are napping still.

I'll check in with everyone later on.

    -Di
  • Hey girls!!!

I got my yard mowed today and its being watered right now and we spent the afternoon outside with the kids and invited the new neighbor kids over to play outside in the pools and on the swing set, Taylor had a blast!!

Our new neighbors just moved here from N. Carolina, so they sound like penny when they talk (Penny I'm just jokin girl )

Ok well I'm gonna get going cuz I'm starving lol.

  • Photos
I'll get more personal later - just wanted to post a couple of pics from Father's Day weekend. Enjoy!

  • Okay, I'm Back.
Sorry - I was in the middle of something, but right now I actually have a moment to breathe, imagine that! Sorry the photo quality is so poor - I forgot my camera and had to use a disposable. I got some cute father-son ones at the aquarium, though.

Penny - yes, we're about even right now! How exciting.

Crystal - how exciting that your weekend is coming! Wow. It seemed so far away when you first planned it. I bet DH is excited too. I can sympathize - I was starving my whole pregnancy. That's why I wonder what I'd do if I were pregnant again.

Hey, Geri - yeah, Nashville was fun. I really liked the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Michelle - ooo! Capris?? Sound fun! Wear them well. Glad you got so much accomplished with the yard.

Hi, Di! I'm glad you're back on track - don't sweat getting off track too much. Everyone does now and then - it's okay to still post What kind of party are you planning for the boys - I mean, do you think it will have a theme?

Hey, Lisa- glad things are going well and you're making choices you feel good about.

Penny - yes, I did my normal 2- 2.5 mile walk this mmorning. We're able to walk it sooo much faster now, it's strange! I hope you get a good nap in.

Spryng - I missed you! Glad you're back I'm glad you had such a nice weekend and that DH was home for Father's Day.

Well, I'm making chicken fajitas for dinner with low-carb/low-cal tortillas. I have lots of points left today, so I may even get a 3-point dessert! DH and I are going to get a date night while the relatives are still in town, so we'll probably go see Saved later this week at an actual movie theater . . . those are few and far between Oh! I'm sad again because my neighbor-friend, whom I've become very close with (she walks with me each day) is moving about a 1/2 hour away. I know that's not too far, but we won't be able to have our morning walks with the boys. I'm beginning to feel all our friends are leaving!! Well, I'm off to start dinner.
  • Hi all, just a fly by. Been dealing with a sick kiddo, and so I haven't much time to be on here. Have a great evening everyone.
  • Hi everyone,
I went and got my new tires from Walmart and also picked up my handweights. I picked up the 3lb and 5lb sized dumbells and will start using them tommorow. I plan on doing curls and overhead extentions for right now. I also want to do crunches (never really been good at those lol) and leg lunges as well as my dancing.

I am running late tonight, just got done eating dinner and I am going to relax for about 30 mins and then do my second round of dancing. I usually do my dancing around 10.00am and 4.00pm but just got home about an hour ago and had to fix dinner for the kids. While the kids are outside playing later on the evening, I will do my dancing.

I made me a quick dinner but it was really good...

hope your all having a good evening.......TTFN
    • Good evening all,

Lisa, a blowout.....hope to never have one! I would probably crash! Glad it all worked out. Hey, I don't measure anything either. I read Dr Phil's book and am following his food plan (if that's what you call it) and there is no measuring or calorie counting (can count if you want too) and it works quite well when you make the correct choices (OK, so I haven't been lately but I'll post that later). Just keep moving lady...and if dancing is what you like then dancing is what you should do . Don't give up!!

Hi Ricci..hope things get better at home.

Leigh...love the pictures and now I'll definately have to start watching FNC . Dh is a cutie pie . You look great!

Michelle, watch...when you're talking to your new neighbors you'll are going to start drawling.....!!! Glad you had a good time outside.

Di, I'm not a huge fan of ice cream cake, but if it were in the house...I'd eat it . I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I'm going to come join you to watch the chick flicks! I don't remember the last time I watched a whole movie. Good luck with the party planning and I'm jealous of all you ladies who get quiet nap time with your kids. Will stopped napping some time ago but at least I get a little peace when Tony goes down.

Spryng, welcome back! Sounds like you had a very packed weekend. Hope you're decompressing along with your cleaning today .

Penny, I have the 3 mi power walk which uses wrist weights and the 4 mi express walk. I don't have the 1, 2 and 3 mile set so I don't know how to answer. To me the 4 mile is a lot more aerobic than the power walk but I really like it. My 2 mile today was the first 2 miles of the 4 mile express so I worked up a good sweat anyway. If I know I'll have an hour I do the 4 mile, if I don't then I try to get the power walk in. Good luck finding a good TOPs chapter. I dont' know about by you but the age range is quite high. ALOT of grey haired older ladies. But I like the weekly WI.

OK, I knew I was going to have a gain but it was only 1 lb. I really thought it was going to be higher. I was weighing myself throughout the day and the scaled kept going down (usually creeps up during the day ) so I'm very glad at the results. I will be back to my good self in the morning. This was the first gain in the past 16 week so I'm trying very hard to not be too tough on myself...just get back in the groove. Thursday Mom & I and the boys are heading up north to visit my Grandma. She's 93 and hasn't seen the boys since just after Tony was born. She's in a home and it's a 3 hour drive one way so I don't get up there much. We'll be staying at my Aunt's and coming back on Friday.

Time to hit the sack. Talk to you all tomorrow!!
    • Good evening all!

Geri, I did a pretty good job at decompressing today but not much cleaning, lol. I did get my dishes done and stuff like that but I have plenty more to do tomorrow. But that is what tomorrow's are for right?? That 1# gain will be off in no time. I think seeing the scale go up really grounds us sometimes. We need it to be re-inspired at times. Not that we enjoy it but it happens, just keep moving forward and never look back and you'll be just fine

Lisa, I love my dumbells. They are 3 and 5 lb ones too from walmart. I hope you enjoy yours! I hate crunches too but we need them, lol.

Ricci, I hope your kiddo gets to feeling better soon!

Leigh, thanks so much for sharing more pics of you and your dh!! I just love pictures! So sorry about your friend moving away. Maybe you'll meet someone new to walk with. Are there other mothers out walking when you go? Your chicken fajitas sounded great. And like those low carb tortillas too, you can get the big ones for 1 pt each. Love that! lol.

Michelle, don't you know you aren't suppose to water your lawn after you mow it?? It encourages it to GROW!!! then you have to mow again! LOL. I hope your new neighbors are great and no problems like the last ones, lol.

Di, so glad you are enjoying ww right along with SB! Sounds like it is working out for you! So what did you end up having for dinner tonight?

Well my evening has been uneventful. Dinner was good. It really filled me up and it was so nice to be 100% OP. Other than that I channeled surfed. There really isn't much on monday nights. But now I am calling it a night. Dh won't be home for 3 weeks. His next home time would have been 4th of July weekend but too many drivers had already requested that weekend so he is forced to stay out 3 weeks this time. Really sucks. 3 weeks are always hard on me. But what can you do huh? Ok, guess I'll yak at you all tomorrow! Have a great night!
    • Hey girls!

What a day!!!! I got up at 6am and took my boys to youth camp...was home for 15 minutes and went to the doc...went to get meds and had all kinds of good ups that took forever...rushed home to pick up Christian for his appt...came home for an hour and took the kids to VBS and got home at 10pm!!!!
My house is a wreck and I thought I'd fall asleep driving. I have gotten 3 hours of sleep in the past couple of days and I am dizzy I am so tired.

My doc is very excited about my progress. She said she wished all her patients would be like me. She upped my meds, so I should be doing better in a day or two.

As for Christian, our new doc wants to try a preventive medicine approach before surgery, because he thinks it's all allergy related. So he gets a spray in the am and an antihistamine at night. IF we can dry him up, his throat may get well, and at least let us hold off til he is a bit older. So I am happy I took him somewhere that surgery is a last resort rather than a first choice to someone who sees $$$$ instead of the need not to put a small child at risk. He also has a rash, similar to a heat rash on his neck and the back of his head that never goes away, so if it's allergies too, the meds will help. Too bad he's too young for testing, I have no idea what he is allergic to.

Tomorrow I begin cutting more bad carbs...sweets completely and much less of the other white stuff. Sometimes with my big family I just an't avoid them all, but I will decide what is necessary and what I can do without. Just deciding to THINK before I eat anything really helps me to not go crazy like I have lately. I did walk alot today, but didn't wear my pedometer like I should have.

I am glad to wee more posting again. Looks like everyone is doing well, so I will get more personla tomorrow...just lucky that I remember how to type tonight!

      Love to all!!
    • Hi Ladies!~

      Good Morning!

Being I had been up since 3 am yesterday (I didn't get my nap in after all!) I crashed early last night!

      Geri,
I know how you feel about the gain. I just gained last week which was the first gain since February. It just goes to show you if we don't eat right, we face the conquences. I am glad you are back on track and you will have a great loss this week!

      Spryng,
I am so sorry that dh won't be home for 3 weeks. WE are here for you And yeah, being on plan 100% does feel great, doesn't it!

      Michelle,
Did you laugh at the lady when she started talked? And tell her she sounded like a girl you know from Louisiana.. LOL Glad you enjoyed your neighbors! That is wonderful!

      Cindi,
Get you some rest WOMAN! You need it! I am so happy that the dr is happy with your progress. And I hope upping the meds, helps alot!

      Nags,
It sounds like you have a good plan going on. Keep up the great work!

      Leigh,
WONDERFUL PICS! You look awesome girly! I am so sorry your friend is moving away! Did you ask her if you could come? Once they get moved in, you will be able to get out the house to visit? I am glad you and dh is having a date night! How great! Let us know how it turns out.

      Di,
I am glad the combo deal is working for you!

      Ricci,
Hope the kiddo feels better! I know how you feel!

Well I have some errands to run and then I am taking the boys to storytime at the library.

Have a wonderful ON PLAN day everyone!
    • Good morning! Well, sneaked a peek at the scale . . . okay, when don't I sneak a peek??? Anyway, looks like things are still on track for me. I'm excited because by the end of the week I should be in the 150's - a new number group

      Hi, Ricci. Hi, Lisa!

Geri - Thanks for the sweet compliments! I'll tell DH I'm glad your gin is only one pound - that's something easily dealt with - I know you'll be back down next WI!

Spryng - yeah, I love that I can eat a whole tortilla for one point too - I love tortillas . . . and fajitas are one of my all-time favorite meals. There's a new mother in the building and I may give her a call once my family leaves. 3 weeks without DH Yuck. I would hate that too.

Cindi - glad there was good news from the doctors all around with both you and Christian. I would also like a surgery as last resort approach. Sounds like you have very reasonable eating goals.

Penny - I hope you got lots of hours of sleep in finally! I will be able to still visit them, I'm just sad because I love having them in the building and I've become quite close with her. Let us know how storytime goes!

Well, I'll be going on my walk in an hour. I may use some felxpoints for lunch today depending on where we end up eating. I'll fill ya'll in later
    • P.S. Okay, we're going to Johnny Rockets for lunch (great burgers/fries/shakes place - do any of ya'll have one near you?), so I'll be eating 1/2 a burger and 1/2 a portion of fries so it only comes to 14 points or so . . . that way, it will be the equivalent of my one fast food meal a week and I can apply maybe 5 or so flexpoints to the day. Tonight I'm just having a WW meal for dinner, so things should balance out at the end of the day Boy-oh-boy am I a sucker for burgers and fries!

      Leigh
