  • Good Morning Ladies!!!

I got a good night of sleep and ready to star the day off good! Although Taylor is being greedy as **** lately and it is certainly grating on my nerves Ughhh lol. Kids will be kids!

Spryng - Glad you got to spend some extra time with DH and it's wonderful that he'll be home for fathers day! Yes I enjoyed my BFL workout yesterday, today its just 20 minutes of HIIT aerobics and I'm good to go.

Penny - Yep we have a push mower, I can definately feel it in my back today but maybe that is from my weight session now that I think about it. But my legs were throbbing when I came in so I know they got some blood pumping in them.

Leigh - Woo hoooo congrats on the 2lbs down for the week!! You are doing sooo awesome! Keep it up!! I bet you look like you weigh less because of the muscle mass you are building while exercising!

Melinda - I hope you have fun at the playdate!! I need to get Taylor some playdates but we don't really have groups around here to join and such. Oh well lol

Well I still don't know what I am going to get DH for fathers day, I would like to get him something that he needs or will use a lot but he doesn't really have any hobbies aside from the computer lol. Oh well I'll figure something out

    Have a great day girls.
    TTYL!!
    Michelle
  • Good morning all!

Michelle, So what exactly is BFL composed of? (what do you do each day exactly?) and what are the HIIT areobics? It all sounds so interesting! Hope you figure out something for dh. What kinds of things does he like on the computer? (is he a game junkie? a music dowloader? etc) then maybe you can buy him some software he's really been wanting or a portable mp3 player so he can burn off his music and take it with him? Just a couple ideas. Or just give him you!! He wouldn't have a "father's" day if it wasn't for you, lol.

Melinda, my biggest fear is to lose my keys, lol. I onlyhave one set and we don't have on-star... so I'm really careful with them. Glad your dh brought them back to you, lol. Enjoy the playdate!

Leigh, congrats on the 2#s!!! That is soo great. I need to get my butt back in gear. I'm up 1.5 lbs this week. I know it's mostly water retention from the salty things I ate yesterday but still... I hate to see that scale move up. It could be worse though. I was only half heartedly into ww this past week... but I will try much harder this week. I just need to keep SIL away, lol, I have a hard time focusing on myself when someone is over here everyday. ok, excuses excuses I know... lol. I will do better.

Geri, hope you make a bundle at your rummage sale! And I hope the weather is good for you too!

Penny, hope everyone in your family feels better today! And yes, shrek 2 was a very cute movie. The underwear part was hilarious! But I laughed from the very beginning to the end. So funny. And I'm looking forward to that self tanners report today, lol.

So what is everyone up to today? ( I know geri will be busy with her sale and Melinda has the playdate) I've got some housework to do this morning. Dh will be home in about an hour! I didn't get anything done yesterday since I left in the morning and didn't get home until after 9 pm. Dinner tonight will be that creamy ziti since I didn't get to make it last night. Unless DH objects, but I don't see what he would. So I'm sure my next few days of posting will be hit and miss but I will try to post at least once a day, hopefully more. But have a great weekend all!
  • Spryng - Yes DH is a gaming freak but I would hate to give him another game because it makes him think that I am ok with all the hours he spends playing them lol. I'm thinking I'll get him a weed eater since we don't have one and I know he's been looking to buy one. So I'll see what I can find thanks for those ideas though, LOL maybe I'll get myself that mp3 player jk

I'm gonna water the lawn pull some weeds sweep the walks nothin too fun, today is also grocery shopping day so its all work for me lol

Spryng you enjoy your weekend with DH!!
    Michelle
  • Hey, gals! Big stuff to share today, but first let me respond to your posts.

Melindda- I hope you ended up having fun at the playdate after all!

Michelle- you're so busy with the yard - that's good exercise. I can't wait to hear what you decide on for DH for Father's Day. Maybe you guys can take him out to eat? Yeah - an Mp3 player is fun. DH couldn't wait to get his Ipod (which is similar) for Christmas.

Spryng- glad you're not being too hard on yourself with the slight gain - it probably is salt . . . is TOM coming soon? TOM's visiting me next week! Dinner sounds good to me. I wished we lived closer - we could trade off cooking nights

Dinner tonight is Turkey Chili. I'll be using all my flexpoints for dinner tomorrow night when we Take DH to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for Father's Day. I can't wait, but you can be sure it will take every last flexpoint to eat there

In great news . . . I went shopping today. I originally was looking for a dress for 4th of July weekend. However, I ended up buying something different. We were browsing in Bloomingdales and I saw this beautiful dress. I glanced at the size, which was a 12, but it looked small to me. I said to my mother, "I don't think this will fit me." I also wasn't sure it would really look good on. My mother told me to try it on anyway. Ohhhh, girls . . . I literally cried in the dressing room!!! It looked really cute on me. And it's a smallish 12 It was more than I wanted to spend, but I thought, "Hey, it's been more than a year since I've put something on that I thought looked good on me, I'm getting the dress!" Also, we have 2 weddings coming up later this summer and I can wear it for those. I'm going to surprise DH with it tomorrow evening for dinner. I'll have to show ya'll pictures after the weekend.

Well, I'll check in when I can
  • Leigh - I ended up getting him a new beautiful corner desk and a weed eater both of which he's been wanting. But downside was that I had to give them to him today lol they were too big for me to hide anywhere. I maybe coulda stored the weed eater at my sisters but the desk is just monsterous! Woo hoo your dress sounds beautiful!!! I can't wait to see pictures!

Spryng - Body for life is a training program he also has a food program called eating for life but I'm not doing that. The aerobics days you do a 20 minute aerobics session. You start at your level 5 intensity and go for 2 minutes then you go up to a level 6 and go for a minute, then level 7 for a minute, level 8 for a minute, level 9 for a minute, then back to level 6 for a minute , you keep repeating that until you get to the 19th minute and you try to get to your level 10 intensity for a whole minute you go all out give it all you've got. Then the last minute is a level 5. Thats it for the aerobics. Then you do the weights UBWO, LBWO alternating. You'll start the same as with the aerobics you pick your level 5 dumbbell weight and do that for 12 reps, then go to level 6 for 10 reps, level 7 for 8 reps, level 8 for 6 reps, then (I can't remember exactly lol I don't have the book right here) I believe you start again, waiting 45 sec to a minute between sets. There a several different exercises that you'll do this with. But the results are just phenomenal!

Well girls I'm going to go spend some time with my family!! I'll TTYL!! I hope you all have a wonderful night!!
    Michelle
  • Hi,

Sale was good today! Should be better tomorrow as it is Saturday.

Leigh....I'm like a couple miles from Milwaukee! Congrats on the 12 dress .

OK, I'm supposed to be looking for jobs so I can get my unemployment check next week so I have to run! I'll let you know the totals tomorrow! Hi to everyone, sorry to not get personal.
  • Good Afternoon Ladies!

I figured I would have alot of posts to catch up but it seems like the boards were pretty slow today! Great for me

    Leigh,
I am so excited for you!!! YAH YAH YAH!!!! That is so awesome! I am waiting in suspense for the pics! Give us a hint... what color is it???

    Geri,
WAY TO GO IDAHO on the rummage sale! I hope tomorrow is even better for you! I can't wait for the totals!

    Spryng,
Hope you and dh are having a wonderful time together!

    Michelle,
I sure hope someone loaded dh's fathers day gifts for you! You are doing awesome with your training. I know you will have another great weigh in this week. Have you peeked???

    Melinda,
How did the playgroup go??? Hope you had a great time!

As for me, Dh woke up this am with a 103 temp so I brought him to the hospital. He doesn't have the stomach virus after all, he has strep throat now. And then Andrew started running fever when he left the hospital so I brought him and Nicholas in to the dr to get checked. Andrew has an ear infection and a virual infection and Nicholas has swimmers ear.

I have been waiting on them all hand and foot. I am really hoping tomorrow will be better.

Anyways I hope everyone has a wonderful night! I am just exhausted!

    HUGS TO YOU ALL! PENNY
  • Self Tanners Info
OK HERE IS WHAT PARENTS MAG JUNE 2004 SAYS:

    EXFOLIATING SCRUBS:
THE HEALING GARDEN REVEAL & RENEW EXFOLIATING SCRUB $6.75
BAIN de-luxe LUXURY FOAMING BODY SCRUB IN ROSEMARY MINT $6

    FACE:
    BIOTHERM SUNFITNESS SELF TANNER $20
BATH & BODY WORKS TRUE BLUE SPA TAN-DO ATTITUDE SUNLESS TANNING FOAM $10
CLARINS SHEER BRONZE TINTED SELF TANNING HYDRATING GEL FOR FACE $27

    BODY:
COPPERTONE ENDLESS SUMMER TANNING FOAM $12
L'OREAL SUBLIME BRONZE SELF TANNING TINTED LOTION $9
NEUTROGENA BUILD-A-TAN GRADUAL SUNLESS TANNING LOTION $10

DO I REALLY NEED TWO DIFFERENT PRODUCTS - ONE FOR MY FACE AND ONE FOR MY BODY?
That depends on your skin. Typically, the body gets drier and demands more moisture than the fact. To quench dehydration, most made-for-body bronzers are thicker and richer than those for the face, and when used on sensitive facial skin, these products can clog pores and cause breakouts. That said, you can always use a face product all over, and if your legs and arm feel tight, simply moisturize once the tanner dries.

THE BOTTLE SAYS STREAK-FREE; MY BODY SAYS DIFFERENTLY. WHAT DID I DO WRONG?
For streak free application, rub self tanner in sircular motion until it's completely blended. Go lightely over rough spots like knees, elbows, and ankles - notorious pigment traps. Or opt for the latest in goof proof bronzing: a tinted sunless tanner. You can exactly where you've applied it and what spots you've missed. Whatever product you use, allow it to dry completely at least 20 minutes before you get dressed. Also, don't shower or exercise (sweating equals streaking) for three to five hours afterward.

DO I CHOOSE A SHADE BASED ON MY NATURAL SKIN TONE OR ON HOW DARK I HOPE TO BECOME?

For a realistic glow, work with your skin tone. Naturally pale? Pick a product in the light to medium family. If you're olive or dark complexioned, choose a deep colored lotion. Once the new hue has set (typically after two to three uses) you can kick up the color with a richer shade.

ONCE I'VE GOTTEN THE GLOW, HOW CAN I MAINTAIN IT?
Wait about four days, exfoliate and reapply. To build your tan, increase applications to three to four times a week. On off days, use a tinted moisturizer to keep color even.

I WANT TO GLOW FROM HEAD TO TOE, BUT MY HUSBAND'S NOT HOME TO HELP. CAN I DO IT MYSELF?
In a word: no. Get a friend or someone else to help - pick an easy-to-use spray on, like MagicTan Aerosol Self-Tanning System ($36) or One Touch Instant Self-Tanning Spray ($11).

I KNOW YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER APPLYING SELF-TANNER, BUT WON'T THEY LOOK PALER THAN MY BODY?
Not if you focus on cleaning your palms, leaving the tops to bronze. Instead of using soap and water, try wiping your palms (and between your fingers) with an antibacterial cleansing cloth. One more trick: Before applying the product, dampen a washcloth and add a touch of soap. When you've finished self-tanning, use the cloth to blot your knuckles, cuticles, and palms.
  • Good Morning! No real time to post - we're heading out to Nashville for our Father's Day trip Just wanted to say hi and hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy Father's Day. I'll post again either tomorrow evening or Monday. TTYL
  • Hi everyone. I never even posted yesterday, Fridays are of course my busy day.
We had chinese last night, I was craving egg drop soup. Then I watched School of Rock with the kids and put them to bed and watched Along Came Polly. Anyways, my queasiness is really starting to fade. I still don't have a feel to cook anything and at times if I think about something I'll feel sick. Also if I don't eat every few hours I'll get so hungry that I think I'm gonna be sick.
Anyways, I've got to catch up on housework today that I've let get out of control since I hadn't been feeling well.
I think I've decided to get back counting calories when I return from my trip next weekend.
I hope everyone is doing well.
Leigh, can't wait to see that dress.
Spryng, hope you have a nice weekend with dh.
Geri, good luck with the sale.
Father's Day isn't anything major here, of course dh doesn't care much for any holiday. We got him a T-Shirt that says Way Cool Dad and I'm gonna make him a cherry cheesecake, it's his favorite.
Michelle, y'all go all out for these holidays, hope dh enjoys his gifts.
Oh btw, dh did go looking for new tires for his play truck, if he gets them, that will definitely be his gift.
Hope everyone has a good day.
  • Good Morning!!

Crystal - Glad to hear your queasiness is fading, I hope it stays gone! I too have some cleaning to catch up on. MMMM cherry cheesecake!!! Can I come over? Lol

Leigh - Have fun on your trip to Nashville. Still can't wait to see your new dress!!

Lisa - How you doing girly?

Di - Have you finished your Father's day projects?

Melinda - Did you have a great time at the playdate?

Ginny - Where the heck are you!!!?? Come say hi!! We miss you!!

Cindi - How's that full house of yours doing? How is Seth doing without his cast? How is Christian feeling?

Ricci - Yoooo Hooooo!! Are you out there? Hows everthing going?

To anyone else I may have missed HI!!! Well I'm off to start the day and get my house cleaned. Hope you are all having a great day!!

    Michelle
  • Hi Ladies!!!
Its been pretty cold here, hard to believe tomorrow will be the first day of summer. Its going to get down to the 40s again tonight. I could see my breath while I was walking my dogs tonight. Needless to say, I have not worn my new bathing suit yet. We were planning on going to an indoor pool yesterday but DD is sick. She has a cough, runny nose, and has had a fever for the past 2 days. She's been begging for us to take her swimming even though she's sick. She vomitted in her car seat yesterday and boy was that fun to clean up!! DD & DS are now sharing a room. We had a family bed but DH and I slowly moved our stuff out of the room and their stuff in. So far so good. Only problem is when DS wakes up asking for apple juice and I'm not there to help him find his cup. Hopefully, this will work out. Its so nice having our own bedroom again.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Tomorrow is my first WW WI. I've been pretty good all week so hopefully the scale will agree.
  • Hey girls!

Life is so hectic here, Monday will be like a vacation!

Well, maybe Turesday! I have 2 or 3 appointments on Monday. But with dh gone, two of my boys at camp...life will be SWWWEEEET! I lost 1 pound this week, it should have been better, but I kinda didn't do so well this week. I think dh gone during the day will help me get time to exercise and eat better. Sounds silly that my grown dh causes me so much extra work, but it's true. He demands alot of attention. Plus I was spending quite a bit of time daily helping him with his job search etc! SO STRESSFUL!! I will miss him eventually, but not soon, LOL!!

Lori...Good luck on your weigh in tomorrow and on the sleeping in your OWN room tonight with no little bodies crammed between you. WE have a dd that ends up with us many nights and it's not fun when I wake up stiff and sore the next day. Hope that bug leaves soon!

Michelle...Seth is doing great without his cast. I think he is healed. Christian is also doing good for now. Other than the heat rash from lack of a/c again...yep! Thought it was fixed, but I was so WRONG! GRRRRRR!

Such a slow weekend here, I haven't seen it this slow since I have been here. I am bored!!! Come talk to me!!!

Hope everyone else is doing very well this weekend! I am restructuring my plan so I can get back on the wagon. I am intending on an early morning walk plus weights and more of the healthy foods I should have eaten this week, but didn't! LOL!! Not that I ate bad stuff(other than those hot dogs) but I think my portions haven't been right. I take an antidepressant and I think the doc needs to up my dose, I really think I am an emotional eater and I do much better when I am taking that med than not, so I think when I go Monday I will ask her about upping the dose. I know she is gonna be happy about my weight loss!

    Later friends!
  • Good Morning All!!

Lori let us know how your weigh in went!!

Cindi oh man you must be dying without the a/c!!! What antidepressant are you on? I've actually read a study where physicians are putting patients on medications for other problems, that help for weight loss. LOL I dunno if you could understand that.

Geri hope the rummage sale went well!!

Well I gotta run off to work! I will TTYL!!
    Michelle
  • Good morning ladies

    Hi Michelle!

Cindi...I'd be taking an antidepressant if I had all those kids too . Just kidding of course (not making light of depression!). My boys were such beasts last night I had a couple of rum & diet cokes after they were put to bed (early for Will!! ). Glad Seth and Christian are doing better and Dh's are just big kids aren't they???? Congrats on the job...maybe he'll learn how to fix your a/c!! Hope it's done soon.

Hi Lori, hope DD is better soon too. 40?? Way too cold for summer. By brother was stationed in Germany about 10 yrs ago and I remeber him saying it was very cool there. Glad you're back posting with us.

Crystal, Chinese must have been in the air Friday...we had takeout for dinner and then leftovers yesterday for lunch. Glad you're feeling a little better.

Penny, man oh man...the sickie bug has hit you hard. Keep it over there ok? Just ship it off to the neighbors or something . Sure hope your weekend gets better!

Well, yesterday was a bust. There was NO traffic coming through the subdivision. After 4 hours I had made $14 so we closed up and shipped the rest off to Goodwill. All together I made $150.00. Better than nothing but not close to what I expected. Oh well, next year there will be more toys and stuff so maybe it will go better.

I peeked at the scale this morning and it's not good . My eating has been horrible the past few days and with the garage sale starting early I missed 2 days of morning workouts and didn't do them at night. I did take a few walks with the boys but not enough to make up for the eating. I did 4 miles this morning and will be drinking lots of water today and tomorrow. We are going out for dinner tonight for Father's day but I will make the best choices possible.

I hope eveyone has a wonderful Sunday. I may make it back here tonight.

Hi Spryng, Melinda, Leigh, Lisa, Ginny, Ricci...anyone else, Oh..Di! Talk to you all later!
