Over 50 And Getting Healthy # 15

THE LAST THREAD WAS GETTING PRETTY FULL SO I THOUGHT IT WAS TIME TO START A NEW ONE.

willow_1 06-10-2004 01:18 PM

Good Thursday Morning!

I called my DIL this morning and asked her to pick up my xrays for me because I need to take them along tomorrow to the ortho Dr.
Then I felt bad for asking her to do all this running for me because she has 4 kids to run after, and I thought to myself, " I'm going to just go out to the car and see if I can get my seat belt fastened, start the car and shift it with my left hand. " Then, by the time I got myself dressed,(I even pulled a sports bra on with my left hand! ) I thought,"I might as well take my purse along out to the car, in case I can get all the things done I want to. Then I'll just quick go and pick up my new glasses that are ready."
I went and got my new glasses and am back home already!
I walked really carefully so my knee wouldn't give out on me and take me by surprise. I feel so good and proud of myself! I don't know what my DIL is going to say about it though.
I guess I will let her or my son take me to my appointment tomorrow, though. That's quite a ways from home if something unforseen would happen.

It stormed here again last night, and it's still raining today. We had over 9 inches of rain in one day. Floods all over, and homes and businesses basements are flooding. So far I've been lucky.

For breakfast I had a roast beef sandwich on low fat low cal whole wheat bread and a cup of tea. But then i ruined it by eating a cadbury Fruit and Nut bar that I couldn't resist at the store. Oh well, some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you. I'll try to be careful the rest of the day.
I should go see what kind of mischief I can get into. All I know is that I'm awfully bored. Need to find a couple good books.

Everybody have a great day, and I'll see you later.

Hi *WILLOW*
I thought I would Copy & Paste what I wrote on the last thread so that Sheila & Puss would see it too... in case they don't catch up with the last thread. I am really concerned abut Puss & those kittens and Sheila after her loss!

Hello Ladies!!

*SHEILA*
I thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing and was so sad to hear that you had to put your pup to sleep  I am so very sorry!!!! :grouphug: I am sending you big warm hugs... when my pets pass on it stays with me for a long time. I think it was good that you got away like you did, but do allow yourself to grieve her... she was your family member... she was a beautiful dog, Sheila. My heart goes out to you.

*WILLOW*
Ouuuch :faint: that had to really hurt - I am so sorry to hear that you broke your wrist. I bet that you felt that fall all over your body by that evening & the next morning! I do hope you feel better real soon, Willow.

*PUSS*
You got some new kittens!!!!
They are Beautiful!!!!!!! I love their markings & their names!!! I hope you continue to post pics as they grow... I will check in when I am able to ;) I am doing well now... I was very ill for a bit there. But all better now. I just got my hair cut and colored - if you go to MY PUBLIC PROFILE you will see a new picture of me with my new do :D Thank you so much for asking about me, Puss... you are precious! I did get your PM, but then became ill and forgot to let you know --- my bad, I am sorry :sorry:

Hey there *ANGEL*
Hope you are doing well...

Yesterday: Someone in our church requested that Joe & I sing for their funeral... well, we were SHOCKED when we went on Monday morning to sing and found out that it was a friend of ours from church! We don't get the name of the person whom passed till we get there - that hour before the service we found out... what a bummer!! He was only 79yrs old and died of a massive stroke - very sudden. I had just seen him on the Sunday before and he looked good! All smiles... In fact, just two weeks before he had some surgery (not related to his death) and we (he & his wife - me & Peggy) were in the middle of the grocery store isle and he had to show me his boo boo - he was adorable! We would only see he & his wife, Ann, in church most times... but had really grown to love them both! Hank would always have his arms out for a hug from me on Sunday mornings. I will miss them both - because she does not drive I don't know that she'll be able to come to church again unless her children bring her (I hope!). Joe & I have to be there wayyy too early on Sundays's to go get her ourselves (because we sing and have to set up). Anyway, I will miss his smiles and winks that were *just for me* terribly! I have felt so sad---even though I know he is with the Lord...

Today: I went in for my yearly mammogram - oooooooo :o that is uncomfortable! I am so glad it's done for the year. Otherwise, all is well with me & the hubby. We have been very busy in our gardens this Spring and loving it.

http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/...Our_Home_1.jpg

Pictured above is our new arbor for our sidewalk to our front door... During the summer Joe & I are out & about allot more, so that's why I will not be posting too often... but I WILL check in once in awhile - I promise ;)

*Thinking of you all with big warm {{{Hugs}}} :grouphug:*
Always,

*PUSS*
After reading Charlotte's post - I reread your last post, but am still not sure if the -haha- you posted was that they did take them back or they weren't taking them from you cuz you wouldn't let them? Now... that is a bummer if they took them back! I would have drawn the line there and told them "no way!" Did they give them to you and then take them back? I am bummed for you if that is so.

*ANGEL*
We went up to 90* here and it is very humid - sultry. I couldn't imagine having to work in it! Hope it all turns out well.

Good for you! :cp: You got all your thoughts organized and went out... I am so happy for you. Glad you were able run all the errands and get back without any problems ;)

We got some wicked storms here too! Hail, High winds & allot of Rain!!! We had flooding in our streets it came down so fast and hard!! I had a beautiful Maple Hydrangea Tree that was going to come into bloom real soon that snapped right off! I am going to try and save it with some rooting powder - don't know if it will work, but won't know till I try, right ;)

I do hope that this finds your spirits high - I can only imagine how hard it would be dealing with pain on a daily basis...

Sheila53 06-10-2004 11:14 PM

Good Thursday evening to everyone!

SunnyD, thank you so much for the kind thoughts. It's still so darn hard not to see my sweet girl sleeping on her blankets or doggie beds (we had them all over the house so she could have a soft place to lay down everywhere we were). So many people think, oh, she was just a dog, but, as you said, she was a family member, and one who offered up totally nonjudgmental, unconditional love. She never had a bad day.

SunnyD, you are doing so well with your weight loss. Three cheers for you! You should be so proud of yourself, and I bet your Joe is really proud of you, too. Hey, I love that arbor. I can't tell if you planted something to climb over it?? Your yard is so pretty--is that an azalea blooming in the corner?

How sad for you to find out about your friend that way. Is it harder for you to sing when it's someone you knew and cared a great deal about? Maybe it makes your voice even more beautiful and true when it's someone you know.

Willow, oh my goodness, you're not having the best start to your summer. Your poor wrist. I hope it's just a little cast if you have to have one. I'm glad the docs are going to start really looking at what's going on with your hip. They simply have to get to the bottom of this problem.

So what's with all the storms and tornados and bad weather stuff going on back there? Is this an unusually bad year for stuff like that?

Jacquie, so great to see you posting. Sounds like you've had an eventful spring, and not in a good way. Although having the GDs around for 10 days was probably a lot of fun. I'm glad the mothers recovered, and I hope your MIL is doing well in the nursing home.

Charlotte, I'm thinking of having nails put on before my daughter's wedding in July (I did mention we're going back to VA in July, right?), but I've never had that done before. Do you have to have some nails for them to work with? Because I don't. Do you like the new style of blunt nails? My DD and her friends all get their nails done like that, but I think I like the "old fashioned" rounded style. And I love nail art. I think if I were to get nails, I'd really like nail art done. Isn't it fun to treat yourself to that kind of stuff? Get a facial sometime if you've never done it--it's wonderful. Hope the house is going well.

I'd made nonrefundable plane reservations to leave here July 15 and return July 21, but my DD calls today and said they changed her leave time to before the wedding so now she has leave from July 10 through the 19th. So I had to change the plane reservations, and the car reservations, and the kennel reservations, and the dad sitter. I keep hearing "kaching" everytime I make a new reservation. This is going to cost me more than the December wedding. I'll have to add more hotel reservations, but I'm not going to do that until I know for sure if we're going to DC the weekend of the 10th. I'm looking forward to seeing friends I haven't seen for close to 20 years.

Went to the chiropractic neurologist today and now I'm in incredible pain. I knew I would be, but it's always hard when it hits. I'm afraid I comforted myself with 1/2 pint of frozen yogurt (I'm making progress--before it would have been a full pint of full fat ice cream!) and some Thai food. So now I'm having pain in my tummy, too. :) I'm getting off this emotional eating roller coaster as of now, though.

Almost time for Landscaper's Challenge. I love that show. I'd love to have three landscapers design something for my yard. Paying for it would be another story. . .

SunnyD57 06-11-2004 08:48 AM

http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/.../Toaster_1.gifhttp://img78.photobucket.com/albums/...ffee_Cup_1.gif Good Morning...

We had another big storm come in during the night (the 3rd one this week) and it is still raining here... the sidewalks are full of worms (ewe!) and my Hibiscus Tree in the pot by our stairs is turning yellow from all the rains --- I am going to bring it in and see if I can save it. I so wish that it would stay sunny for a few days... without all the humidity. It's been like living in a sauna here this week. It has really cooled down though - went from the 90's yesterday to a possible high today of 70* And we are still in a Flood watch area, although... we are doing okay here where we live thus far...

I am slowly feeling better - I got back into walking the last couple days (feels great!) but only 2 miles a day so far... I had a rough night last night and was up at 4am for abut 30 min. or so; then fell back to sleep at around 5am... the alarm went off at 5:30 :coffee: "Where's the coffee!" :coffee:

I was going to meet my girlfriend at Curves this morning, but am just not up-to-par yet, so I will have to wait to see her on Monday morning instead. She usually goes in the afternoons because she teaches, but now that she is done for the summer - she is going to join me in the mornings... that will be great! We have allot of catching up to do.

*~*~*

Hey there *SHEILA*
It is wonderful to hear from you!
I can only imagine how much you must miss your little lady... {{{Hugs}}}

About my Weight loss & Exercise: *Thank-you* so much ~ I am trying so hard Sheila... I haven't been well the last couple weeks, but have gotten back into my T-Mill again the last couple days as I mention earlier in the post... I haven't gained any of the weight back, but do feel flabbier since I have missed going to Curves in the last two weeks.

Yes, I did plant some Morning Glory seeds in the the planters on either side of the arbor, but nothing has taken - I think we have had just too much rain!!! It is taking a toll on all our gardens here. At first it was great and the plants responded beautifully, but now it's too much! We need a few sunny days now. No... that is a *Flowering Almond Shrub* The flowers look like baby roses. I'll see if I have a close up on the flower in my pictures to post. It is a beautiful shrub! Glad you enjoyed the pictures... that is my Zeppe (cat) sleeping on my desk at the top of that post --- he loves to keep me company while I am in here on the computer.

Why did DD have to change the date (again)?? What a pain that must be for you --- I know what it takes for me to go anywhere (that's why we haven't gone anywhere lately  )... there's so much to do in preparing for a trip - you are exhausted by the time you even leave! I am very excited for you in being able to see friends and family you haven't seen in a long time - that is always so much fun! You will have a wonderful time once you are there and all the planning is behind you :)

I am so sorry to hear that you are not feeling well --- I do hope it won't be long before you do feel better... *Thinking of you*

I love that program too, Sheila!!! In fact, Joe & I watched it last night where the couple had a desert back yard - W:eek:W did the designer do a marvelous job on that back yard - but they never mention the cost in the program!!! It had to be at least 40 - 50 thousand $$ to do!

*~*~*

Well, gang... I am going to get in a couple miles on my T-Mill while I still have some energy this morning ;)

♥ Have a ♪ Great ♪ Day Everyone! ♥

Willow...I'm glad you made it alright...but, it could have been bad if you had gotten yourself in a jam! Please, let others help you now, so you can take care of yourself later. I know how you feel. That's why I slipped off alone for my last treatment, but, sometimes we need help. I'm sure your DIL doesn't mind. When you are better, you can do something nice for her. ;)

Sheila...Hope you're feeling better. I still think about some of the "friends" I've had in the past. I had a dog, cat & parakeet once. Kept them for years. They all three stayed with each other constantly. The Parakeet stayed on either the dog or cat's back. (didn't stay in a cage, other than at night to sleep or to eat) Dog was Spanky...Cat was Smokey...bird was Tom. We had two parakeets for a few years, Tom & Jerry, but Jerry died & left Tom. That's when he took up with the dog & cat!
You'd love the nails! They feel like your own, only stronger! They need to be short....in fact, they will cut them short, before putting the new ones on. I have mine rounded. Here, they're popular both ways. I'm wanting a pedicure, but I'm afraid they will hurt my RA feet. They are very touchous. Yes, I enjoy pampering myself a little...& it doesn't cost much. I haven't had a facial...but, my friend (co-manager of the TV station) got me as a gift for my birthday....a complete face kit. A massager, creams, etc. All kinds of things included....even has a cd with soothing music to relax. Haven't had a chance to try it yet.
Wow...having to change plans! I'd be telling some kids to make up their minds. ;)

Hi SunnyD, Fatpuss, Bluet, & Jacquie!

Hope all have a good day.

Sheila53 06-14-2004 05:58 PM

Hi, all!

Did everyone have a good weekend? I hope so! No activity here so hopefully that means you were all out enjoying yourselves.

We went to a historic house tour in an older neighborhood on Saturday. We saw seven house, one of which was in the process of restoration, one of which had been renovated with modern touches, and most of the others had been kept up nicely already or had had some restoration work already done. We also had lunch out, and then my Dad wanted Chinese food for dinner. I'm pleased to say I did really well.

Sunday we got up at 6:00 am, which is really early for us, especially on a weekend. I had a consultation with a visiting doctor, and had to drive about 40 min. across town. Then we had breakfast (I had a big bowl of fruit) and drove to my cousin's house about an hour north of where we were. We chatted and I picked up some plants that she'd gotten for free from her work. We drove back through a little artsy town and had lunch (again I was really good!) and went to a couple of cool shops and to the quilt museum. They had an exhibit of a husband a wife combo. The man got into cross stitch when he was in the Navy on long cruises. He started with all the western lighthouses. Then his wife put them in a quilt, and they've been doing stuff like that ever since. Some really incredible work, both the stitching and the quilting. They make a great team. The guy's stitches were so tiny, and the wife's creativity in quilting with his cross stitch squares was wonderful.

Charlotte, I love the fact that you had birds, cats, and dogs that all got along together. How neat!

SunnyD, glad you're feeling better. Did you get to Curves this morning?

Well, gotta go walk my dog--we've got a break between raindrops!

So Sorry I've been away so long!

It's been 96 degrees & higher here & we have no air conditioning because of the roof being put on. PC is in the room I'm cooking in....hottest room in the house. Can't stand to stay in here to read & post....so have been reading. DH says it wouldn't do any good...but, I beg to differ with him! Well, that changed yesterday, when a large rain came before we got home from church. We knew it was suppose to set in raining, but thought it was late in the night. To our surprise we came home to a drowned house! See....everyone was going to get together yesterday and put the top wood (whatever it's called) on...but, didn't make it in time. Now, we've got a big mess! Clothes, food, etc, got all wet!! Floors were all soaked. Not floorcovering down yet, but, have to keep baskets of clothes, etc on floor.

So, since it's suppose to rain all week...we've got our hands full.

Our son's week to have his 2 little girls & my daughter from South Al is here this week working close by & staying with us & brought her little girl. I love them all.....BUT!!!

I'll be back soon as I can.[/FONT]

Hi *SHEILA*
Well... ... today was my first day back to Curves in 2 1/2 weeks! I didn't go on Monday as planned - still didn't feel well. It felt so good to go this morning - at first I was apprehensive, because I am still not feeling up-to-par, but I went anyway. I am meeting my friend again on Friday and we are going to meet up with one another every Mon- Wed & Fri. through the summer. I will sure miss her when she has to go back to teaching in Sept and won't be able to join me --- but in the meantime, we'll have fun.

Sounds like you had a real good day on Sunday! Those quilts sound beautiful!!!

How is the wedding coming along?

*ANGEL*
I am so sorry that you have to endure so much!
I DO hope that things will get better for you & hopefully real soon -
Lord knows you have had you fair share & then some!!

Omigosh, Charlotte, how horrible! That's kind of a Murphy's law thing. So is everything all dried out now? I'm glad you didn't have any carpeting down. It sounds like most of the stuff could be salvaged easily. I hope they got the roof on quickly after that.

SunnyD, glad to hear that you are back at Curves. I hope you didn't overdo since you weren't quite feeling up to par. It's nice that you have someone to go with you.

Well, I went to a cardiologist on Monday afternoon because I've been having some chest pain when I exercise--not all the time, just sometimes. She wants me to have a stress test, which is standard. I'm fairly sure it's my hiatal hernia, but I might as well get the test done and make sure. What she did say that kind of bummed me out was that she wants me to go on the South Beach Diet to lower my one and only risk factor--high cholesterol. She said it's the only diet that's proven to lower the bad cholesterol and triglycerides and raise the good cholesterol. She said I could combine it with Weight Watchers. I researched it a little and, man, it's going to be hard to give up the carbs. I'm a bit worried that I won't be able to handle it, but I'm going to try.

I met with a trainer at my gym the other day and got a bunch more exercises to hopefully tone up my flabby arms and other places. I was pretty darn sore the next day after working out with her.

Where did we lose everyone else?? A beautiful day here in the Northwest. Hope everyone is having a good one!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I was dissed in a parking lot today by a 3 year old. I was sitting in my car with my DH, and I hear from the car next to me, "Oh, it's a grandma in the car." I look around, and we're the only occupied car in the lot. The kid was talking about me! :( Okay, I am a grandma, but, heck, I don't want to look like one!

willow_1 06-17-2004 07:23 PM

Hi Girls,

I certainly haven't been busy!
My wrist and lower arm still hurt. I'm off work at least until the 9th of July.
They tried to get the Dr to let me come back to work, but nothing doing. Which is ok with me.

Charlotte, so sorry you had such rotten luck with the weather coming into your house. Such a shame! Making all that extra work for you.

I've been counting WW points, in a fairly low carb way. Kind of combining things. I don't count carbs, but I have mostly proteins, vegetables and low carb bread once a day.
It's so hard when you can't exercise like you should.

Sheila, I hope that works for you with the South Beach Diet. I tried both that one and Atkins, and Atkins was WAAAAY too strict. I think I lasted 2 days. The South Beach is a little more liberal, but I'm impatient and didn't stick with that either. I don't know if it was because I COULDN'T stick with it, or if it was that I didn't WANT to.
I think I do ok with low carb on my own, because I'm not as strict. I have carrots etc. I just figure, How bad could a vegetable be for me if it's not made with sugar or saturated fat?
I have a problem with salads because i don't like them every day, day after day. I like cooked green veggies.

Sunny, good going on the exercise.

I should get out of here.

Sheila, if you need low carb recipes, I have a few good sites for them. Let me know. See ya all later!

willow_1 06-18-2004 11:17 AM

Hello And Good Morning!

I've been up and at 'em since 5 AM. At first I thought it was going to be a clear day, but now it doesn't look like it.

I had a good breakfast and now I'm answering emails, posts and then I'm off to the store.

My brother is suppose to be arriving from Oregon too. He and his wife
have a summer home in northern Minnesota and they are back here for
the summer. He was going to come to the town I live in to see one of
my other brothers who is a diabetic with a bad heart and ulcers all
over his legs and is not doing well at all. He's 77 years old, and
has been in bad health for a couple of years now.

I have a leaky faucet in my kitchen and the drip has increased to
almost a stream, and it really kills me to ask someone to change the
rubber washers in it because I'm so used to doing that stuff myself.
Anyway, last night I caved and called one of my sons, only he was at
work. He's on 2nd shift this 2-week period. His wife told me
something my little grandson said that I thought I'd share with you
all. He's the one I sent the video of him singing the local school
victory song to some of you guys.
My daughter-in-law cut her finger the other night and of course he
had to have that little nose right in there telling her to put a band
aid on it so dirt wouldn't get in the cut etc.
Yesterday morning when the 3 of them were at the breakfast table
Anthony asked my DIL, " Where's your band aid, Mom?" She said she had
taken it off when she showered, but then said, " I suppose I should
put another one on though,to keep the 'elements' off of it." And she
left the table to go to the bathroom to put another band aid on. She
said Anthony was just staring at her with big eyes, and she could
tell his little brain was going a hundred miles an hour. She
figured 'elements' was a new word for him and he was trying to figure
out what it was.
About 30 seconds after she got into the bathroom, he called in to
her, "Mom? .............. WHAT elephants!?"
Oh Lord! I laughed so hard! He was thinking they were going to either
get some elephants or were going to see some elephants, evidently!

Well, I need to get off this computer and get dressed and go to the
store before it starts raining. Yes, it's at it again!

Everybody have a wonderful day! I'll be back later. .....

Sheila53 06-18-2004 11:14 PM

Leaky water faucets--enough to make you go out of your mind. Even after they're fixed, I'm sure I can still hear them. Your grandson is such a hoot, Willow! That's so sweet that your DIL tells you all those funny things he does.

It's hot here! And you know how I hate the heat. It was about 85 today outside, which meant the same inside except I did turn on the window A/C in my bedroom. My Dad didn't even open his window. I was in his room watching Jeopardy and it felt so dang hot that the 80 degrees in our part of the house was cool. I can't get him to open the windows. I even called his doctor's office to ask what temperature his room can get to before I am concerned, but they were no help. I ended the fruitless conversation with, "Okay, if he passes out, I'll be sure and take him in to see you."

Tomorrow I go shopping for the mother of the bride dress. It's gonna be a sundress because it's so hot and humid in VA. I've added some oomph to my weight lifting with the hope that my arms won't be too jello-like three weeks from now. My daughter informed me today that she wants me and her future MIL to light a unity candle. I did that at my son's wedding--that marriage lasted three years. I know, different kid, different marriage. I'm still not that thrilled with lighting the candle, but I'll suffer through it. I'm so happy that my friends from Charlottesville are coming--great moral support.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! It's going to be another Seattle scorcher here.

willow_1 06-19-2004 12:47 PM

Good Saturday Morning!

I went to bed early last night, .... about 10:45 and woke up a little after 2 AM and thought, "Oh no, I'm going to have another of those nights!" But, I went back to skeep until a little after 4 AM and the same thing happened, and I ended up finally getting up at 7:45 AM. What a lazy bones! But, I feel really good today. Very rested.

It is beautiful here this morning! The sun is shining very brightly and it's kind of chilly actually, even though the thermometer says it's 68 degrees out there.
I opened all the windows to let fresh air in to air my house out. Air conditioning is nice, but I like natural, cool, fresh air better.

When I got up this morning I put some extra lean loin pork, cubed, in the crockpot with onion, sour kraut, diced tomatoes with celery, peppers and onion in them and some ALA', which is bulgur wheat, kinda like brown rice, only higher in fiber. It is starting to smell so good! I bet it's making the neighbors hungry because you can get whifs of it outdoors.

I had a good breakfast of low fat cooked ham and a wedge of laughing cow cheese spread on it and a cooked egg, and of course my green tea.

Sheila, I bet you'll be so glad when this wedding is done. You're working so hard, both on the plans and on your fitness. I sure wish I could wear a sun dress!
Geez, only 3 weeks to go! That time has flown by.

Can't you put a control on the thermostat in your house that locks?
The elderly do get cold much easier than younger people, but maybe a sweater would make him feel comfortable.

I thought the bride and groom lit the unity candle. They did at my kids' weddings.
I know how you must feel though. But, you never know how kids are going to do in a marriage. My brother and his wife were married when they were 14 and 18 years of age and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
My one son was married a year and his wife left because she was having an affair with another guy that lasted a month after she left, but by then it was too late to get back together, ... he would never trust her again, he said.
They'll be fine.

Now I need to finish all my posts and get dressed and get outdoors.

Have a good day! I'll be back later.

Fatpuss 06-19-2004 03:43 PM

Have I got some catching up to do! Bit like my work situation as well. Just haven't had the time or energy lately to post. Normally when DH goes abroad it's very quiet but I have had non stop visitors every weekend and through the week - they must think I need it, else it's the kittens that's the attraction. Sorry for any misunderstanding about the kittens, I meant that my DB and nephew so loved them they wanted to take them up north with them but not for real. They both loved my last cat Alfie and were always saying they would love to have him too but they have a golden spaniel *****.
Willow - thanks for the link to this site, thoughtful of you. I am sorry I missed your news about your wrist, how painful that must have been. What kind of a company do you work for which tries to get the doctor to sign you off and get you back to work!! I would try to make the sick leave last longer if I were you just to spite them for the way they have treated you. Thanks for the muffin recipie, I will probably try it when DH comes back home next thursday - it's been 5 weeks since he left. I howled out loud at your little Anthony's 'elephants' - must tell the girls in work.

Angel - that expression 'it never rains but it pours' certainly applies to you lately, though I did try to visualise you holding a brolly while you went to the loo! Did you have a lovely time when DS and DD had their kiddiwinks over to your place? As for a facial, I had one years ago and prompty fell asleep, think it was only my snoring that woke me it was so relaxing and gentle, especially when they massage between your eyebrows.
Sheila - no wonder you have been on a carb fest! Between the pain you've been in and the wedding stress I think I would be looking for something a lot stronger than cake to comfort me. Loved the kids comment in the car park though I didn't like it when my nephew was younger and he he said I looked like 'Murder She Wrote' - think I was only 40 then and Angela Landsbury was older than my mum at the time ha ha! Did you get your wedding outfit chosen? I have to get one for 20th July for DDs graduation ceremony - she officially became a doctor last friday, got a distinction in her results, so proud of her. I wish I hadn't stuffed myself since Xmas now as I would be a stone lighter! My workmate and I are starting again on monday - we were looking at the South Beach diet in the bookshop but decided on one which is based on 80% being good and 20% treats but lowish carbs and no carbs at all after 5pm. I will give it a go. We have also started back at the swimming pool. By the way, where is VA?

SunnyD - love the picture of the puss and your lovely garden. Glad you are feeling better now and back at curves. You did really well not to gain any weight during that time. Such a shock you had when you went to sing at the funeral and not knowing it was a friend of yours. As for all the flooding you people are having - we in the Uk are famous for not having proper summers but for weeks we have been in a heatwave and we are not used to it. Our office is not airconditioned and we were sent home two afternoons last week with the heat. We were supposed to be supplied with stand alone cooling units to go with the desk fans but if it's like last year, they'll probably arrive in October when we will be back in wooly sweaters!

Jacqui - you have certainly been through the mill lately with DH, MIL and DH in hospital. I hope your DSs visit brough some welcome relief into your life. Glad all seems to have settled down now but take care of yourself as it's usually when things settle that the one who had to stay strong comes down with something because they have been running on overdrive and their system runs down.

Bluet where are you dear friend, you are so missed. I know you have a lot on your plate and you probably don't have the time to post. Just remember that your friends miss you and you are a valued member of this site. x

Last weekend DS came home AGAIN - these kittens are a big attraction - and we had a picnic and a gentle 6 mile walk through the New Forest. Glorious day but he spent ages looking at lizards, dung beetles and other creepy crawlies he kept finding along the way - never left his kiddie bug collecting days behind him. Highlight of the day was a beautiful young fawn which jumped out of the forest in front of us.
DD is home for a week right now after her exam results and graduation ball. Came home from work to find the house all dusted, vaccumed and washing done - sweetie. She drove to London today to spend a couple of nights at her brother's flat. A crowd of them are going to see the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in concert. Arn't they a US band?
DH is back thursday and it seems like 5 months he's been away and not 5 weeks. Just hope this does not become a habit with the company.
Sorry this is so long - penalty for not posting more frequently.
SunnyD = I will access your photo and look at your new haircut.

Good Morning Friends

Good morning folks! I woke up early and I'm glad I did. It's looking
to be a beautiful day here. The sun is shining and it's 68 degrees at
7:45 AM.

I've already had my breakfast, Morningstar Farms veggie breakfast
sausages, eggs and toast with ICBINB on it. And my green tea. 6
points.

As soon as I get done posting all my messages etc I'm going to shower
and go down to my sons house to get ready for the parade.

My other son came yesterday and fixed my leaky faucet and another
leak on the valve. They didn't know until yesterday that my arm was
broken, and when he and my grandson got here, my grandson had brought
me flowers from their yard. Big, beautiful white peonys. His mom had
picked them for him to give to me. So nice of them. My house smells
so good now from the flowers.
It's so nice now to walk into the kitchen and not hear that blasted
thump, thump, thump, .....

Guess I better get a move on or I'll miss the parade! LOL!! It starts
at 1 PM!! See ya all later! Have a beautiful day! .....

Sheila53 06-21-2004 01:55 PM

Congrats on your DDs excellent showing on her results, Puss. It's still unbelievable to me that both your kids are going to be doctors. Your kids sound truly exceptional, and I'm betting it's because of you. :) And, yes, the Red Hot Chili Peppers is a U.S. band. Hey, five weeks IS a long time. I get antsy when my DH has to be gone a week. I'm glad you have your two kittens to keep you company, although it sounds like you had no lack of guests while your DH was gone. I hope work gets less stressful.

How was the parade, Willow? I hope you had a great time. That's nice of your son to fix your leak. That noise would drive me bonkers!

Hopefully everyone had a great weekend. I did! :) Although, Saturday was kind of frustrating. I got up the energy to go to the local mall to look for a mother-of-the-bride dress and found zilch. I did find a couple of tops that will be good with shorts, though, and bought my Dad some new clothes for Father's Day. I don't know what I'm going to do about a dress. I think I'm having trouble because I'm having visions of what I want to wear, and I can't find it. I did find the style--in black. I'm not wearing black to my daughter's wedding in Virginia (that's what VA stands for, Puss) where it's hot and steamy. But I bought the dress to take with me to show salespeople what I'm looking for.

On Sunday, my DH and I went for a Father's Day luncheon cruise out on Puget Sound. It was an incredible day for the cruise. Wouldn't you know we forgot our camera? The mountains looked fantastic, the water was blue, lots of sailboats. We saw all the ritzy homes on Bainbridge Island, which is across the Sound from Seattle. The luncheon was excellent--I had salmon and veggies (I passed on the garlic potatoes, although I love them, and we didn't get a bread basket) and the waitperson rounded up a couple of strawberries for me to eat for dessert while my DH enjoyed the Tower of Chocolate Decadence. We did come home to 86 degrees in the house, but we'd left the window A/C on in our room so we mostly hung out there.

My Dad just will not open his windows, and he hasn't been feeling well lately, which I'm sure is because of the heat. He also doesn't drink enough, and I notice (because he doesn't flush often enough) that his urine is really dark, which is a sign of dehydration. I tried to talk to people at the clinic where his doctor is, but they weren't interested. All I can do is try to feed him foods that contain a lot of liquid and hope for the best. If it's 86 in my part of the house with fans blowing, then it's much warmer in his room.

Another hot day here. I'm looking forward to the cool down to the high 70s. Have a good one, everyone!

willow_1 06-22-2004 11:16 AM

Good Morning Friends!

Good morning Sheila and all,
Sheila, I worry too about Dad getting over heated. When we get older, we don't realize how the temps are affecting us. Would he listen to reason if you were to try to explain to him that he could end up in the hospital if he gets overheated, or that it could be fatal? From what I've heard about him, .... I doubt he would. I'm sorry you have to have that worry on top of everything else.

Your weekend sounded idyllic. You and Puss do such ....ritzy... things. And I'm jealous! :p

Well, it's another nice sunny morning here.

I've been up for over two hours, and don't feel like I've really accomplished anything yet.
It's time to renew my prescriptions and I get mine filled through the mail, and our insurance company recently changed mail pharmacies, so I had to fill out all new forms and get new prescriptions written by my Dr.

Got that done, and then I tackled this disability insurance claim AGAIN from way back in the first part of May. Things are really screwed up.
I am now waiting for them to call me back yet again!

I finally finished my laundry about 9:30 last night, but that wasn't bad considering the phone calls, and that I had bedding to do up from two extra beds also.

I just had breakfast at 9:30! Had my high fiber cereals and fresh blueberries with splenda and skim milk. (6.5 points) I don't like the aftertaste of regular whole milk. I never have, and I never was much of a milk drinker because of that, but since I've been an adult and discovered skim milk, I drink that and use it in my foods. I like it. We never had such a thing as a kid. In fact, we seldom drank milk. We used Carnation evaporated from the can with water added to it for cereal. Sounds gross now, but it didn't seem real bad back then.
In case you couldn't tell, .... we were very poor.
I'm not sure yet what I'm having for lunch. I have to go to the store for more cereals and some fresh veggies, so maybe I'll just have veggies and dip for lunch. I have a couple hamburger patties already made in the freezer, so I think I'll pop those into the microwave and put a slice of fat free cheese on them and have veggies with it for supper.

I better get moving here. I want to go visit my brother today too for a while. He's a diabetic and not doing very well health-wise.
I'll be back later. Have a great day.

Angel-lover 06-23-2004 09:41 AM

This is all I want to do lately...& when I'm not asleep,I'm in pj's & hair a mess!

Afraid I'm just not into "life" right now. Too many rainy days, I suppose. Enjoying all the posts. I'll be back soon........

willow_1 06-23-2004 09:59 AM

Good Morning Friends

Hi Charlotte!
You need some sunshine! I'm glad you posted though! Take care. We're thinking of you.

Another day of sunshine, ... for a while anyway. It's suppose to rain later, but, it's nice to wake up to sunshine anyway.

I had a real good day yesterday. Ate well, and went shopping for my cereals and some more fresh fruits and veggies. They had colored peppers on sale at 3 for $.99, so I got 3 of each. I had some with other veggies with supper last night and today I'll cut up the rest and put them in with my stir fry veggies.

I mix all my high fiber cereals together and store them in my big tupperware containers.

A couple days ago I read that the disease SCURVY is making a comeback, and the experts say it's because of the low carb diets. People aren't getting enough vitamin C, they say. That is gotten in a lot of fruits and vegetables, even POTATOES! it said. I guess I didn't know potatoes had vit. C. But, especially citrus fruits and strawberries.
The article said that the main first symptom is feeling tired out and kind of weak, bleeding or sore gums and headaches, and most people are treated for other things by their physicians, or just don't even go to the Dr. So, I guess if you're on a low carb diet, it would be wise to take a vitamin C supplement daily. Smoking also interferes with the absorption of vitamin C.

I need to get busy here and get outside before it clouds up.

Everybody have a nice day! Be back later!

Sheila53 06-24-2004 07:22 PM

Hello,

Charlotte, I'm so sorry you're not doing so well. Hopefully your next treatment, and some warm sun, will make things better for you soon.

Willow, a stir fry sounds so good that I had my DH buy some peppers, and I think I'll stir fry some shrimp and veggies. Today we went to Applebee's for lunch where I had one of the Weight Watchers meals that they feature. It was pretty darn good. Since I've been trying to limit the carbs and eliminate the sugar, I didn't have the low points dessert, but I really wanted to! Oh, and you're so right about my dad--stubborn as stubborn can be.

The heat wave broke the other day so we're now enjoying some cool and cloudy weather. At least I'm enjoying it! I'm really quite the heat wuss. Yesterday my dang tooth that was root canaled last fall was bothering me to bits. I ended up calling an endodondist and hopefully he can figure out what's going on with it. My dentist, who did the work, said there wasn't anything he could see that would cause it to hurt so much. It was okay for a while, but yesterday I couldn't chew anything on that side, and if there was any pressure on the tooth, I about went through the roof. Today it's only slightly throbbing.

Have to go dress shopping again on Saturday. I really don't like shopping, although it's certainly more tolerable now that I'm a smaller size. I can't believe how difficult it is finding the right dress for my daughter's wedding. I know just what I want, too, which may be why I'm having so much trouble. Made the appointment to have my hair colored next Friday. That "oh, it's a grandma" remark still rankles. :)

Turns out my old boss who now works in DC lives three blocks from the hotel we're staying at when we do a little side trip to DC in July. We're going to meet him for dinner. I'm looking forward to that. He really was my mentor more than anything, and it will be great to see him again and catch up with his life.

Here's hoping the sun comes back for Charlotte--and I hope that Puss, Jacquie, and Bluet come back soon!

Question For Everyone

Does anyone know of a song from way, way back, title MIGHT be "Little
Jack" that has words similar to;
"He wore a tattered pair of pants, a ragged roundabout, and through a
hole in his hat a lock of hair stuck out."
then there was something about them pulling his battered body from
underneath a train, .....
It would be an old song, like maybe something our parents or
grandparents would sing.

I'd LOVE to get my hands on the lyrics to it. Thanks!

Sheila53 06-25-2004 04:57 PM

Sorry, Willow, I've never heard of that song. Have you tried putting it into a search engine? Hope you find it.

I'm just stopping by for a minute to say that I finally won my battle with a couple of pounds I've been losing and gaining for the past two months. I lost 2 "virgin" pounds today, which puts me at 188, and 73 lbs. lost. My WW leader didn't notice that I'd already received my award for 70 lbs. lost, and she gave me another award. I wasn't going to tell her I already got one a couple of months ago! :) Now on to 75 lbs. lost. Hopefully it will happen before I leave for Virginia. Guess it's up to me to make it happen. . .

Have a good weekend everyone!

willow_1 06-25-2004 05:53 PM

GOOD JOB, SHEILA! cONGRATULATIONS!

Sheila, I am so darned happy for you I wish I could be there to give you a big old hug! You have worked so hard for this and you've accomplished something already that has me very envious, but I'm also delighted for you.
I just know you're going to go on to your goal. YOU ROCK!!

I'll see you later!

willow_1 06-26-2004 09:25 AM

A Beautiful Day Here!

Another morning of waking up to sunshine! I love it!
I was outdoors for about an hour yesterday morning, and then last night my daughter-in-law came over with the kids and we went out to visit her mother who used to live next door to me. She lives by the lake and we sat outside for a couple of hours, until the mosquitos (Minnesota's state bird! ) drove us indoors.

I'm trying to strengthen the muscles in my knee and get some exercise at the same time. The handlebars on my exercise bike move also when you ride the bike. I disconnected the right-hand handlebar so it doesn't move when I pedal, and I rest my cast on that handlebar and ride the bike. Works pretty slick!

I'm hungry for french toast this morning, so I'm going to make up a loaf of low calorie-whole wheat bread into french toast and freeze the slices on a cookie sheet and then put them into zip lock bags and keep them in the freezer and then just pop a couple into the toaster or microwave when I want some.

I used the last of my fresh strawberries yesterday morning, and when my DIL came over last night, she and the kids had been picking strawberries at a place that sells them, (you can go out in the field and pick your own, then pay for them when leaving) and she brought me a quart of freshly picked strawberries. She is the most thoughtful girl! I love her to death! She said the kids ate more berries than they put in the containers and their faces were full of juice when they went to pay for the berries. She said, how do you pay for berries that have been eaten already?

Anyway, I'm going to try to get outdoors again today as much as I can. my swing cushions should be dried out now so I can sit out there and read when I want to take a rest.

Everybody have a wonderful day. be back later!

willow_1 06-28-2004 09:08 AM

Monday, ... A good day!

Another week begins.

Today was my weigh day, and I lost 4 more pounds. That's 10 pounds in the past two weeks. Yippee!!

It must have been a busy weekend for everyone.

For breakfast I'm having my mixed high fiber cereals and fresh strawberries and blueberries with skim milk and green tea.

For lunch I'm having tuna salad made with FF mayo and celery on a rice cake.

For supper I'm having pollock walleye with mixed fresh veggies and low cal. whole wheat toast.

Guess I'll have breakfast now and then go ride my exercise bike.

Everybody have a great day.

Sheila53 06-28-2004 05:02 PM

Wow, Willow--how exciting! You're doing so darn well. And that was pretty inventive with the exercise bicycle. Hey, did you ever find the song lyrics?

The weekend was supposed to be cloudy, but we didn't see a cloud in the sky either day. On Saturday I went dress shopping again. I had in mind exactly what I wanted, but ended up with something totally different. Plus I was so ticked at the size I had to get. I thought shopping at an upscale store like Nordstrom would mean that I would be able to fit in a smaller size, but just the opposite was true. I can wear a Target sz. 14 and a Penney's sz. 12 shirt, but the dress I got at Nordstrom was a sz. 16W. I've worked so hard to remove that "W" from my clothing. I did have to have some alterations done, but that still doesn't make up for wearing a size that I don't want to wear anymore. Oh, well. It's one day and one dress.

We spent a good portion of the weekend doing that ever present yardwork. We had a whole bunch of weeding and pruning of overgrown shrubs. It was pretty exhausting, especially in the heat. Okay, I know that our heat isn't anything like anybody else's heat, but I still don't like it. Also spent an hour on the phone talking with friends from Virginia who will be at the wedding. They're going to sit in the front row with us and play aunt and uncle since my DH and I are the only family coming.

Another beautiful day, followed by more beautiful days, according to the weather guy. I have to have a tooth re-rootcanaled on Thursday. Yuck!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

willow_1 06-28-2004 06:32 PM

Saying Hello,

Hi Sheila,
No, I never found the lyrics to that song, but when it started, my search wasn't for myself, it was for my nephews wife who's grandma sang it to her when she was little.

I wouldn't be too upset about that dress. I've tried clothes on many times and had two different brands and one would fit and another would be too small or too big and they SAID they were both the same size. Same with shoes.

I've been writing my foods and exercise out on another board I have and I think it helps to put it out there where people see it. I'm not so tempted to gain then and have to explain. :o

Geez, that wedding is getting mighty close, huh? Are you getting nervous? Or is the Mister worse than you? They usually are with daughters.

Oh, ..... a re-root canal! Didn't you just have that one done about a year ago? And didn't you have problems with it hurting after they finished it? Maybe I have you mixed up with someone else.

I didn't ride my exercise bike yesterday, but I rode it for an hour today, so maybe that kinda made up for yesterday.

I better go start my supper. Have a good evening!

Hello to all the rest!

Sheila53 06-29-2004 11:13 PM

You've got a good memory, Willow. Yes, I had that tooth rootcanaled in October or thereabouts. It's been bothering me off and on ever since so it was kind of a relief to discover there's an infection in the canal. You know, I had a previous root canal that had to be redone because of an infection. So I'll be 0-2 after this one. :( I'm really hoping I won't have to have another one ever again. I'd be glad if I didn't have to have another crown, too.

I find it really helpful to write down what I eat. Of course, on WW, you need to do something like that to know how many points, but I like the act of writing (or keying it because I do it on another board, too) down what I've eaten. Riding your exercise bike for an hour--wow!

Neither of us are nervous about the wedding. I figure it's her life. We're looking forward to getting away, however. I need a break from Dad. Of course, I'll worry about him when I'm gone, but we're both glad of some time away. He's going to see the neurologist while we're gone, and I'll be interested to know what she thinks.

Hope today was a good one for everyone, wherever you are!

Angel-lover 07-01-2004 04:45 AM

Hi friends....sorry I've been gone so long...a lot going on. I'm leaving for Texas with friend (manager of TV station)Connie on Friday morning. So, I won't have time to come back until, at least Tuesday. (We'll be coming home late Monday night)

I hope all of you have a great 4th of July! Most of all....stay safe!!

Sheila53 07-01-2004 06:51 PM

Thanks for those great graphics, Charlotte! I'm glad to hear that you're feeling well enough to take a little trip. It sounds like it will be a great break from all the stress. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Today was my root canal. Yuck. I always take a valium to help me relax, but then afterward I get really depressed. Valium does that to me. I'm a lot better than I was at the dentist, but I don't think the new endodontist really thought that. He was very nice, though. Then after that I went right on to the chiropractor for that appointment. Needless to say, I was pretty tired by the time I got home.

I had such a wonderful thing happen last night. I went for a 20 min. walk with my DH and our dog and was able to walk without holding my head with my hands. It was incredible! I really think this chiropractic neurology thing is helping. Makes me so optimistic. I'm hoping that I will be able to walk down the aisle at my daughter's wedding looking like a normal person.

Started off cloudy here, but it's sunny and not a cloud in the sky here now. I've got so many flowers blooming--it's wonderful. We should have a tomato or two by the time we get home from our vacation.

Hope everyone is doing great on this Thursday!

Sheila53 07-02-2004 06:42 PM

Have a great weekend, everyone! I'm not going to be around for about the next three weeks so I hope others come back to post so we don't lose this thread.

Happy Independence Day to everyone in the U.S.!

willow_1 07-02-2004 08:35 PM

Hello friends

I'm back again. I just had the best supper, and I'm just stuffed. I
had stirfry with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms, onion and
bok choy with a little xtra lean grounf round, and I used garlic
flavored teriyaki sauce when I cooked it. Had low cal whole wheat
toast with it and some fresh papaya. Oh lord! I can hardly breathe,
but it was sure good.
And not many points, or calories, either.

My brother got out of the hospital today, and I went shopping for
fruit for myself so I got them a bunch of veggies and made him some
dill dip, (he can't have salt)and picked up a rotisserie chicken for
them.

My sister wants me to go back out to her house tonight, but I've been
on the go all day, so I think I'll wait till tomorrow.

The weather has been beautiful here all day, but it's suppose to
storm tonight.

I only rode my exercise bike for 50 minutes this morning because my
sister came and interrupted me, so I think I'll hop back on for a
while tonight.

Sheila, I'm really going to miss you. I guess I didn't realize you were going to be gone that long.

I'll try to keep this thread going.

I'm also going to be sending you a PM or an email.

Have a happy and safe holiday weekend, and a safe trip to and from the wedding.
Geez, the next time I "see" you, you will have gained a son-in-law.
Take care and be sure to keep in touch.

Everybody have a good night. .....

willow_1 07-04-2004 09:38 AM

Happy 4th Of July!!!

Good morning everyone!
I was awake early this morning and rode my exercise bike for an hour
and was done before 8 AM.

Then I had another of my weekend big breakfasts. French toast
sandwiches! MMMMMM!

As soon as I'm done here I'm going to get dressed and head out for
the day again.

Just wanted to say happy holiday to all. Stay safe, my friends!

Angel-lover 07-07-2004 09:36 AM

Made it back from Texas! It was really nice to get away for a few days. I wish I could have stayed longer.

I didn't realize Sheila would be gone that long, either. Hope she has a great time, & can enjoy the wedding!

How are you doing Willow? Is your hip bothering you, much, these days? I've kind of lost touch. Got pretty depressed before my trip. I'm trying my best to get out of it. Not easy though. I have a lot going on.

My treatment was due last week, but, the clinic is moving to another area, & wants me to wait a few more days, if I can. :( Nurse said if I can't to call, & they would make arrangements. It worries me to do that, though. Those rush jobs are rough on me. Sooooo, I've got to try to wait until the 12th (next Monday) I'm really fatigued.

Well....just wanted to pop in to say hi. I'll come back soon to post more.

Hello, Fatpuss & Bluet!

willow_1 07-09-2004 08:49 PM

Hello again

Hi Charlotte,
Good to see you're back from Texas and I hope you don't get too ill before they can get your medication to you.

Yes, my hip will always bother me just because of the nature of the injury.

They took the cast off my arm today, and I now have a splint that I can take off when I go to bed at night, and when I wash up etc. No work for two more weeks, and then he said he will decide if I'll need physical therapy for the wrist and arm.
At that time he will also look at my knee, which caused all this to begin with.

The weather was icky here today.

I just had a lot of company from out of town, (Oregon, UP Michigan and Milwaukee) and everyone went home yesterday, so I have some time to get back to my normal routine now.

I'm still following my plan really good, and exercising for 1 to 1 1/2 hours a day. I've lost 12 pounds in the last 4 weeks.

I don't come here much anymore because hardly anyone ever posts.

My brother is out of the hospital for now, but still isn't doing very good. I'm very worried about him.

Well, I guess I'll go and finish my emails and watch a little tv tonight.
Take care and post when you can.

Angel-lover 07-09-2004 11:04 PM

Hi Willow....

Good to hear from you. Hey...12 lbs!! That's great! I'm afraid my weight is starting to creep back on. I've got to do something about it, before it gets out of control. It's almost as hard to keep off, as it was to lose. :^:

Sorry I don't post much. I don't post anywhere as much as I used to. I don't have the time I used to have, for one thing. For another, I seem to be fighting depression a lot. I just don't have much interest in anything, anymore. This house is getting me down really bad. It's real hot, & no air conditioning....& wouldn't you know, I'm allergic to heat! :( DH says he's going to put in the air conditioner, but seems to put it off each day. Poor thing is working himself to death on this house. I wish we had just walked away from it.......

I'm sorry you're in such turmoil with your injuries. Wish I could say they'll get better. I don't know. But, I sure hope they do. I need a treatment pretty bad. I think I'll just knock myself out this time with Zertec, etc, for a few days. ;)

I miss Sheila also. I also miss Bluet & Jacquie. Wish we could hear from them. Where is Fatpuss???? Maybe they'll miss us, & return. I hope so.

Your meals sound delicious. Nice to know you can eat that well, & still lose weight! If I wasn't so lazy, I'd try them.

Gotta go to bed. It's almost too hot to sleep, but gotta try. Hope you have a good night's rest.

I just can't resist....(sometimes I'm a little mischieveous).I thought you might like this:

Good morning,

I think that's adorable.
How did you get that signature one? I'd love to have one like it. Only with my own name, of course!

So sorry you're feeling down in the dumps. Isn't depression part of RA though? Have they tried adjusting your meds? I realize you've been through a lot with the house and all.

Maybe as the house gets closer to completion, your spirits will pick up too.

Now, the heat is one thing I could not tolerate.

It's sunny here today, and since i just did laundry, and it's nice out, I'm going to try to get my grandson up here to finish cutting those shrubs down and mow my lawn. It's a disgrace. I'm embarrassed to have anyone see it.

Have a great day, and look for an email from me.

Hi Willow,
Yes, I think depression is part of RA. I think living in a burnt house under construction for 2 yrs with no walls, floors curtains, bedspreads, etc, etc, son living with us...going through divorce & custody fight, etc, and....and...is also. :^: Oh well, I'll live through it. No such luck, as to go to heaven now, & get out of all this mess! ;) No way to adjust meds. Don't think it would really help. I just have to work it out. Thanks for caring. This forum helps a lot. I just vent to someone, when I need to. Guess you were the lucky one this time. DH DID get the air conditioning put in...it IS a lot cooler. :)

Enjoy working in your yard, but don't over do it. Take care of yourself. I'll find the website to the quill signature & give it to you soon.

Well....got a treatment today...so, going to bed....again. :D Talk to you later.
