Hello again!

Well Tanner managed to break another glass candle motif tonight. Ugh. He was on a roll I guess. But he settled down after that one. It cut his little foot, but just a scratch really. But I guess i will be putting all my glass things WAY up tomorrow. lol

Michelle, come on over for dinner anyday! lol. Leanne Ely (the author of Saving Dinner) just finished her next book and it's a low carb saving dinner. So maybe you can look into it when it gets published. :) And your little baby will be 8 months old soon and my baby will be one year on the 24th of this month!! :sp: This past year has really flown by. Hope you get a great nights sleep and feel more like yourself tomorrow.

Lisa, I think smaller goals are a great idea. But your long term goals were very reasonable too. I think you are going to do great. Sorry that TOPS meeting was a drag for you. But at least you really like curves.

Geri, so how did the boys pics turn out? And yes I can normally watch a movie when the kids are up, lol. But of course tonight Tanner was on his rampage and I was cleaning up alot of broken glass. But I have only seen about 1 hr of Mystic River so far and I like it. I'll finish it tomorrow. But normally the kids play in their rooms when I watch a movie, they are really good most of the time.

Leigh congrats on Liam getting a tooth! So what did you end up using your left over pts on tonight? I had a 0 pt fudgesicle that was really good as my after dinner snack. The kids had one too.

Cindi, I am looking forward to your WI this week. i think you will hit ONE-DERLAND too!! :cloud9: You sound very excited about it. And yes, getting in lots of exercise and toning now will help combat saggy skin later, but remember that it can take up to a year after losing the weight to get your skin elasticity back so be patient. My stomach actually feels like it is firming up finally. I truly believe I can have a flat toned stomach again even after 3 kids. Maybe I am wrong but I will do my best to see if it's true, lol.

Well, I am very tired so I'm off to bed. Hope everyone has a wonderful evening and a great nights sleep. TTYL!

Hi Ladies,

I know another flyby.... I will be back after Saturday I promise!

Just so much to do for a party I tell ya! LOL

I have to go get dressed and ready really quick before the kids get up. We have been running all week and today I have to go to another town to pick up some things for the party.

Hope everyone is having a great day :)

I will take me all day Sunday to catch up on posts ;)

Hi! I'm new to this site today and also a stay at home mom and have a small home daycare. I'm currently @ 141 but would like to see 125 again. I workout 5 days a week and find that I really do enjoy it. I wake up an hour early so I can do it. NAGSALOT--I read your post and if it refers to the woman who attempted suicide, I saw nothing wrong. It just goes to show if your support systems are in place you can do some amazing things.

MichelleRae 06-10-2004 08:56 AM

Penny!!!! Glad to hear you are just busy!! I bet the party is going to be a smash!! Pictures girl Pictures!!!! I can't wait to see!!

Lisa - I'm sorry to hear that you won't be staying with us, Good luck in your journey!

Spryng - Our little babies are growing up so fast!! I can't believe it!! Are you having a party for Tanner? I don't really do big birthday parties, I just invite my niece and nephew's and my two sisters and thats it. I think for Taylors big birthday present daddy and grandpa are going to build her a big play house for outside. She'll love that! I was going to buy one but they are small, and expensive lol, so I would like to have one that she can play with for a few years.

Well Teagan woke up early this morning and I am tired but hopefully that will pass lol. I'm going to have 1 cup of coffee and hopefully it won't make me too jittery. Oh also I'm pretty sure our horrible neighbors moved out WOO HOO but anyway there was a maid service there cleaning the house and it looked completely empty so I'm hoping lol.
My house definately needs some work today so I need to get it back in order. I'll check in later!!

Michelle

MichelleRae 06-10-2004 08:58 AM

Missy - Welcome to 3fc! I'm michelle sahm to 2 year old Taylor and 7 month old Teagan (both girls) I'm sure you'll find the support you need here, I know I have. This is a great group of women. I hope to get to know you!
Michelle

need2losemore 06-10-2004 09:36 AM

First, welcome to missy and a belated welcome to nags. I am Ricci, sahm to two boys 5 and 3. Nags, I saw nothing wrong with your post, and glad that you shared it. I hope you will reconsider posting, but if not, at least come in once in a while and say hi. Missy, you will find the women here a great support group on your weight loss journey, and through the ups and downs of mother hood.
Well, my MIL was here last night. With her fat little dog, too. We aren't supposed to have pets in here, even to visit. Well, we snuck the dog in, and were doing great. Then DH went to take a shower, and he walked into the bathroom and there was a huge puddle on the floor. It was coming from our hot water heater. We had to call matinence, who still haven't come by the way, and then we thought we had to do something with that friggin dog. I hope next time she comes through the dog will be put into a kennel. We can't really afford to get kicked out of our apartment right now.
Yesterday morning I did 30 minutes of aerobics, and then last night I went and rode 6 miles on my bike. I can't belive the different muscles you use when you bike. My thighs hurt really bad right now.
Spryng, sorry for Tanner pulling things off the shelf. He seems to be a very mischevious little boy.LOL. I am going to be going to cosmetology school. Part time in the evenings, so it will take me a little over a year to get it done. Hi  Cindi, Geri, Michelle, Penny,Crystal, and all I missed. Have a great OP day everyone.

need2losemore 06-10-2004 09:37 AM

P.S. Matinence just showed up!

spryng 06-10-2004 10:10 AM

Good morning all!

Lisa, I don't understand why you would stop posting with us! You post many times a day and are very motivating and encouraging. Are you stopping because of that pm to you from that woman? Most of us women here are friends so we share personal things with each other. I know I went through a rough time 2 years ago with my marriage and I confided in a couple great gals here about it and they really helped me get through it. I didn't know any subjects were taboo on this site. So sorry someone was rude to you about your post. If they didn't like it all they had to do was scroll down and skip it, you know? But none the less, I wish the best for you and I hope you keep us updated on your progress. I know you will get that weight off again and keep it off this time. Take care!

Ricci, so what did you do with the dog when maintanance showed up? We lived in an apartment once where we weren't suppose to have pets but I bought a ferret and "hid" it for quite some time. The manager finally found out but she was nice and said as long as I stated it wouldn't ever get out of it's cage (even though it was rarely in it's cage) I could keep it. I have an aunt and uncle who have been "hiding" a huge doberman pincher in their apartment for years now. Hope you don't get in any trouble. Cosmetogoly school sounds like fun. It is all about makeup or skin care or what? Sounds like something I would be good at, lol.

Michelle, no I am not having a party for Tanner. I think I mentioned in previous posts that we just don't get into holidays and such. Maybe someday that will change but it's all I know right now, lol. I hope your neighbors moved out too! lol. They seems pretty immature and awful. And now maybe they'll just sell the house to a nice family. How are you feeling today?

WELCOME MISSY! I am Spryng, mother of 3. What plan are you on? How many children do you care for in your home? I think that is so great that you get up early to exercise. i wish I could drag myself out of bed sometimes but I am not a morning person. I usually exercise before I go to bed at night. What exercises or workout video do you do? I am on weight watchers and I hit my goal weight in april and now am just trying to get off a few more lbs for a cushion, you know? But I'm stuck on a plateau right now. I know it will eventually break and the weight come off but sometimes I get impatient. (it's been 8 weeks of no losses now) But I guess you can say I'm maintaining well, lol. I look forward to getting to know you better! Post often if possible! Oh and how many kids (and ages) do you have?

Penny, I hope your party is great! I'll look forward to seeing more of you after saturday! :)

OK, what does everyone have planned for today? And for dinner? Me? I am going to work on my house some this morning. I'm hoping this soreness starts to subside so I can get some stuff done. For dinner tonight I'm making that pepper steak (was going to make it last night but ended up doing those pitas instead) But today I'm just hanging around the house. This sunday I will be going to see my bf for the first time since she had her baby. The baby is over 2 months old now. I just haven't had a chance to see her yet. So I am looking forward to that. My DH's cousin is watching all 3 of my kids that day so I can go alone. So I will have a nice visit.
ok, guess I'll get off here and get my day going. TTYL!

MichelleRae 06-10-2004 10:17 AM

Ricci - Good Morning girly!!

Spryng - I'm feeling pretty good today so far lol, had a bit of a rocky start as teagan was up early and I wasn't quite ready to get up lol. I asked her for one more hour and she said no way mom get your butt up so, here I am lol.

I'm planning a 6 mile walk today and some weight training, I need to give my metabolism a swift kick in the you know what ;)

Have a great day!
Michelle

watkinsguru 06-10-2004 10:24 AM

Good Morning

Hi All. I haven't posted since yesterday morning and that was just a short little post. I just don't feel like being on the computer lately. I don't feel like doing ANYTHING lately. I'm fixing to have to clean the kitchen from breakfast.

Di, I hope you checked out Watkins. Please let me know what you think about it.
Ricci, Congrats on the 2# loss, that is great. What kind of school did you enroll in?
Michelle, you tired too, huh? Could be your new job at nights. Just something out of the ordinary may tire you out. Hope that gets better for you. Thanks for the offer on maternity clothes, but it's a good thing that you gave them to others that truly need them. I've got alot to get anyways, thinking Andrew was my last I got rid of all maternity clothes, all baby clothes, high chair, carrier and a few other things. Oh well, this baby will get new stuff or at least garage sale stuff.
Leigh, wtg on the pants being too big. That is such a great feeling.
Spryng, sorry about all the glass around your house, just one of those days, huh? Tell me how Mystic River was, I really want to see it.
Welcome Missy, I'm Crystal, 26 yo sahm of 3; almost 4. Alisa 5, Ally 3, and Andrew 18 mo. I found out I'm expecting early February. But I'm sticking around and hopefully going to make this the healthiest pregnancy yet. I'd like to here more from you. Tell us about you alittle. How many kids do you have? This support group is WONDERFUL, you'll find no other groups like this one.
Lisa, so sorry to hear about you leaving us so soon. I didn't see anything wrong with your post, in fact, it's a personal testimony used to motivate and show support. WTG!!!
Well, I'm still and constantly nauseas. Food makes me sick but I still have to cook it. Once I eat it I'm okay but I usually don't want it. I didn't want dinner last night, broiled chicken so I had a salad and banana. Later though I got hungry and had a baked potato with the works, no sour cream. You all know I use to be up at 6 am or before, I didn't crawl out of bed or off the couch until almost 830 this morning. It's really bad. I think this one is alittle worse than the others and definitely lasts longer, this one is 24/7.
I'll get over it.
I hope everyone is having a great day and I'll try to check in later if I feel up to it.
TTYL

meltin 06-10-2004 11:03 AM

Crystal - I don't think it is just the preg. making you tired. Maybe it is the changing of the seasons. I have been extremely tired lately as well. When I went to the gym, the instructor said that he has been really tired lately as well. Don't overdo it, just get the basics down.

Lisa - Like Spryng said, you are a great motivator. Thanks for all your insight.

We are throwing a baby shower this weekend, so I am getting ready for that. JW is suppose to have a playdate today, but I am not in the mood all the planning I have to. The mom and I go to church together and have sons close in age, but I really don't have much in common with her. Maybe I am hesitant bc she as skinny as a rail after the baby. If I surround myself with thin people, does it happen like osmosis. I think I will go anyway, JW needs some playmates. We have a MOMs Night Out, so I am looking forward to getting out for dinner.
I am totally weaned this Sunday, but I am so sore. Any suggestions? I have the tighest bra I have on and I have put cabbage on them. Probably has something to do with the mood. TOM is almost over so maybe it will get better.
Hello to all. I cannot remember a thing from all the post.
Melinda

Chubba 06-10-2004 11:21 AM

Good morning ladies :coffee: :coffee:

Let me first address Lisa. Please, please, please do not let the opinion of one person stop you from posting with us. I enjoy reading all of your posts ALOT. If that one person doesn't like the fact that we live in America and are entitled to have our own opinions then maybe she shouldn't post here anymore. That same person may have also posted things that I or others didn't like and they have no right to be rude to you. I'm going to PM you my home email address because I still want to hear from you. If that's what's going to happen on this site, then I too may have to stop posting.

I'm sorry, I'm very very angry right now so I'm going to stop this post. No one has the right to censure what another wants to say.

I'll check back in later........ maybe.

Loveliam 06-10-2004 11:30 AM

Morning :)

Ohhhh . . . I cannot wait for my WI tomorrow! I, of course peeked at the scale and am very excited, but will hold out on posting my "offical" results until tomorrow.

Michelle - I know, I feel like it was only yesterday that I was pregnant, not almost one year ago! It's very sad and makes me want to have a baby every year  I send positive engery enhancement your way :) I hope you're feeling back to normal today. As for coffee, if it makes you jittery, you may want to try mixing 1/2 regular coffee with 1/2 decaf.

Spryng - So, Tanner thinks his job is to destroy the candle holders? Liam believes his main mission in life is to pull all the CDs off the shelves. I ended up having 1/2 a cup of Ben & Jerry's lowfat chocolate fudge brownie yogurt, but the 1/2 cup is 4 points!!! An indulgence I usually can't have. But then I still had 2 points that I didn't use. My appetite has definitely changed over the past month. I didn't realize it can take up to a year after weight loss for your skin to tone up. I am very curious to see what happens with my abs once I lose all the weight. I think if I have another baby, I'm going to be very careful and do some modified version of WW, where I just add points deppending on what my Midwife/Doctor says.

Lisa - it sounds like you have a very strong spirit that will get you through until you're at your goal weight. Sorry to see you leave, but best of luck in your goals.

Hey, Penny! Have fun at the party :)

Missy - Hi! Welcome to the group. I'm Leigh - SAHM to a 7-month-old son named Liam and happily married for 2 years to a wonderful DH :) I'm on Weight Watchers - what program/plan are you using? I've lost a lot in my first month, but you have to wait until my Weigh In tomorrow for my current weight  Nice to meet you!

Ricci - hello! I hope the dog and water heater stuff gets sorted out. Bravo for the good workout. 6 miles is awesome. Hey - can you say you're just dogsitting?

Crystal - sorry you're still feeling so bad. I know it feels yucky while you're going through it, but hopefully it will pass after a couple more weeks. ((hugs)) to you - hope you feel better.

Melinda - the shower sounds like fun. As for the thin mom - you probably missed my post about this. I refer to them all as "nannies." Certainly, they can't truly be the children's mothers.

Di - are you watching the "behind the scenes" Starting Over? It's kind of interesting. I'm glad I finally got to see Lori's original story becuase I started watching the show after the first episode and never knew how her husband died. Actually, they still didn't give specifics - like was it a heart attack?

Well, my plans today. Our first wave of family arrives around 5pm. The house is in order - I finally realized I couldn't organize an entire scrap space in one evening, so I got it 1/2 way done and will do the rest over the next week. I feel good because I did get a lot done, though. Threw out one big bag of old stuff and then have another pile of materials I'm no longer using that I can donate.

My downstairs neighbor, who I walk with, was saying that she can really tell I've lost weight now. (Nice to hear!). But, she was saying that she just can't stay OP and was asking how I'm sticking so well to the plan. I thought about it, and said, "You know, it's nothing I can completely explain. I began trying to lose weight back in January, and kept not sticking to it. But then, something just clicked inside me at my last appointment with my midwife, and it's like now there's no going back." And I know I definitely have my set backs here and there . . . but before I would have just gone off plan in response. Now that no longer seems like an option. I just start over the next day. I'm really hoping this somehow means my mind has accepted this as a lifestyle change :crossed: And ya'll have been so helpful for me!

Okay, Liam's awake . . .

BIGtimeLOSER 06-10-2004 11:49 AM

WOO HOO Leigh! Sounds like you are doing well. Maybe we will BOTH have a great weigh in tomorrow.

Lisa...I don't see a thing wrong with your post. Just remember you can't please everyone, but to me that post is exactly the type of inspiration we come here to get. I wouldn't let the opinion of one or even a few keep me from doing what I need to do to get healthy and achieve my goals. I can't imagine that the opinion the poster shared with you spoke for the majority here or even 3FC as a whole. Just keep on doing what you are doing and don't sweat it!!

Crystal...Sorry you feel rotten, but it is a normal part of the first trimester, so it WILL get better...eventually.

Welcome Missy!! This is a great place and you will be glad you decided to stick around with us!

To everyone else...HAve a great OP day!

DH isn't working again...sigh! He did have a positive interview this morning though, so pray hard for us!

Hope is coughing her head off, so we are off to the doc again today. The rest of the gang is doing fairly well. I exercised with weights some last night. Didn't get my walk in because dh had to leave so early in my vehicle, his battery died. But I will sometime today. I am cleaning lots, didn't get my room done last night...I had a terrible headache to deal with. But I ate well and will do so again today.

Spryng...I am having Salmon tonight thanks to you! I got some very fresh stuff at the market last night and I am going to go buy a grill to cook it on today! LOL!! How was yours? I can't remember for sure if I read about it. I can't even remember for sure that it was you who cooked it. LOL!!

Back later to see how we are doing!

DianeJ 06-10-2004 12:08 PM

Hi Ladies, the boys are snacking downstairs so I have a few moments to pop in and say Howdy! My weigh in was fine, didn't lose, didn't gain, in a way I'm glad I didn't lose the pound I thought I was, keeps me more motivated to stay OP, know what I mean.

Spryng, we are watching Mystic River this weekend, I've read the book, it's going to be sad to me, so I don't know how I feel about watching it. Great job on rescuing the fish, you truly are Super Mom! It must have been such a mess to clean up.

Cindi, I know what you mean about having your house clean all at once, it would be an amazing feet! I swear it's only clean in sections right now, then by time I get to another part of the house, the original "clean" part is messy again. Such is life I guess.

Leigh, i absolutely adore massages. I can't talk Steve into them at all! His father's day gifts involve many things for Fly Fishing, his newest passion. I ordered him a really nice fishing rod holder and some other stuff like that. I originally wanted to turn the whole office into his fishing space, but soon realized I could never get that done in time. It sounds like you've planned a nice time out for hubby on Father's day too.

Lisa, sorry your TOPS meeting was such a bust, but glad to see it hasn't deterred your motivation. Good job on the work outs and setting some smaller goals.

Geri, have fun cleaning! Can you beleive those words flew out of my stupid mouth? Neither can I!

My boys are extrememly gumpy today, I don't know why thier diapers are all in a bunch, but it's put me in a pissy mood. We have a playdate today, so I better get a move on and wrap his birthday gift as well. I hope they have fun and don't make me regret taking them out in public! Wish me luck,

Di
