So if you are a SAHM jump right in and say hello and to all you who have been here before I look forward to a new day with you!!

need2losemore 06-09-2004 02:36 PM

Hello everyone,
No, my monitor didn't die, yet. It sounds like everyone is doing really good. I can't remember anything from the last thread.
Spryng, that afghan is adorable. I can't do anything but a couple of basic stiches when is comes to crocheting.
I got my exercise in this morning, before 7:30!. I hve been getting alot of my daily stuff done first thing in the morning before I take Eric to school. I think I am beginning to like it. I weighed myself this morning, and am down two lbs for the week. It's not my normal weigh in day, but I didn't weigh in last friday. Yesterday, I went and enrolled in school, so I have that to look foward too at the end of August. I hope everyone has a great day.

spryng 06-09-2004 02:37 PM

Ricci, you and I were posting at the same time, lol. So I'll just copy and paste my last post here.

Hello again! Just a quick post from me, I'm about to go down for a nap.

Di so sorry you lost your post! I really hate it when that happens. When I write a really long post I always copy it just in case. My other computer used to lose posts all the time but this one is much better. Sounds like you had a rough night too. Maybe you'll get a nap in today too. And I agree with you about how you deal with falling off plan. I felt so guilty last night when I ate that cake. The sad thing is it wasn't even that good and I wanted to stop eating after the 3rd bite but I didn't. I ate the whole piece and it was a big piece. But then and there I decided I would exercise like crazy that evening and that is what I did. After I got my exercise in I earned 6 activity pts! So I was only over by 2 pts yesterday. So I think that is great. It shouldn't affect my WI (well nothing is affecting me WI's lately because of this stinking plateau) but if I was to see a loss this week that cake shouldn't influence it. I look forward to your WI tomorrow!
Crystal, hope your cup cake session is fun! My kids love to help with desserts.
Lisa, I just use a st ives lotion from walmart. It's for extra dry skin. And I also have that body luster from bath and body works in warm vanilla sugar that smells heavenly, makes my body really supple and has little shimmery things in it to look like a healthy glow. I love it and so does my Dh LOL. I like nair too. Not for my legs though I use it on my bikini line, lol. I still shave my legs and every now and then wax them.
Michelle, it's crazy how much you and I are alike, LOL. Cracks me up. So are you working the front desk or cleaning the rooms?

ok, now I am off to la la land. TTYL!

oh, I did get all my pics uploaded this morning so tonight I'll post a few for you all.

Ricci, congrats on the 2# off!! That is great. And it sounds like your exercise is going great. What school did you enroll in? some college courses or something?

MichelleRae 06-09-2004 03:34 PM

Hullllloooooo!!!!!

Good Afternoon girls!!

I'm having a rough time of it these last couple of days, just tired all the time, it may almost be time for tom to pay a visit which could also explain my scale woes lol despite my hard work it is not moving lol. So it is hidden now and hubby said he didn't want to hear me *****ing about not being able to weigh lol I just laughed at him and he was all no no I know you and you are going to go through withdrawls lol. Damn men they aren't supposed to know us that well ;)

Spryng - Well I'm working the desk and cleaning rooms lol I'm the first person at this hotel that has ever volunteered to help out in other departments and I figure hey it will look good and let them know that I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. I took yesterday off from exercise and I'm starting again tonight after work. Im planning an hour of walking and 30 minutes of resistance training.

Crystal - Girl I feel for you!! I wish you were feeling better, OHHHH one thing that did help me sometimes was to suck on hard candy, I actually had preggie pops and they had ginger in them and they definately helped on my days when my nausea wasn't soo bad. I wish I hadn't gotten rid of my maternity clothes I would have sent them to you but i just gave them all to a Teen/Single Mom pregnancy center.

Di - I know how you are feeling too. Being sluggish, ughhh I hate having these thyroid problems and one week I'll be super energetic and the next I'll be dragging my butt on the floor (OMG that just put the image of a dog dragging its butt across the ground GROSS!! Funny but gross lol) How do you deal with days when your body is really sluggish?

Ricci - Glad to see you got a post in and Congrats on the 2 lbs down!! Keep up the good work!

Lisa - I use suave lotion for my legs and it has that stuff that thins out the hair, I like it, I also like nivea OR Bath and body works sells shea butter and omg it is wonderful!! So thick and creamy and it smells like coconuts which I love lol.

Well guys I gotta get ready for work, I think I'm going to come home and eat dinner after I work and then I'm going to take Taylor to soak in the hot tub at work, its a 15 person hot tub so I'm sure it will be like a huge bath to her and she likes them extra hot so it will be fun, I'll even wear shorts lol!! TTYL!! Have a good evening I'll post again when I get home!
Michelle

Loveliam 06-09-2004 06:42 PM

Ei yi yi

Sheesh - i can barely keep up these days! I had a nice day. I got some organization done - still more to do tonight. I'm planning to stay up after Liam goes to bed and get everything ready. Anyway, a friend came with me to get my hair cut so she could keep an eye on Liam in the waiting area. It was soooo nice ti do something for myself and it was just the attitude adjustment I needed!

Spryng: Don't worry too much that you got off plan - sounds like you really dealt with it well.
I'm sorry to hear about your disorientation with no electricity. How frustrating! I'm still not positive about the bikini either, but maybe my abs workouts will truly pay off and we'll talk then!

Lisa - I think you're being very wise to ease yourself into the workouts. You don't want to burn out and get discouraged. but you're doing a wonderful job. Those are funny stories about your son :) About Aveeno leg hair stuff - this seems to work only if you have very fine hair. THat's my understanding :) As for a good moisturizer, Jergen's Ultra Healing Intense Moisture tested very well by Good Housekeeping (I saw it on Good Morning America). Oops - I just read Crystal's reply - maybe she can better help :D

Michelle: cuddling with the family sounds nice. I'm sorry you are so tired. Ypu may be right about tom because that happens to me too. I also love the smell of coconut! I have pina colada bath gel and lotion. Yum, yum, yum.

Crystal - Happy Birthday to Ally!:gift: Wish I could have some cupcakes. Actually, today I've eaten so few points, I probably could!!

Di - sorry you were up all night. I wish you a better night tonight. I watch Starting Over too!!! We can totally discuss each episode :) I agree with what you said about how we deal with slipping up in our eating habits. I need some baby proofing stuff as well - Liam is scooting all over the place and has already tried eating some wires.

Ricci - :cheer: on the 2 lb loss!!! Hooray. You're right on track.

Well, For some reason I ended up eating only a 2 point lunch, so I have lots of points left, even after my 7 point dinner of WW Salisbury Steak with Mac & cheese, and a sourdough English muffin on the side. I may be able to check in later when I'm up late organizing!

Loveliam 06-09-2004 08:01 PM

And I forgot to tell you gals - I put on a pair of pants that I haven't worn since before I began my diet and they were oh-so-big! They were almost falling off. I can't wait to take my 10lb loss photo in that skirt and top - I haven't wanted to try on any clothes in case they aren't that big - I thought it might disappoint me.

DianeJ 06-09-2004 08:16 PM

Leigh, whoever thought having old clothes hang off your body could be sooo exciting??!! Congratulations, that must have made you feel so good. Ahhh, babyproofing, it's a never ending battle most days. I'm hoping I get more sleep tonight, at least a block of it being longer than a couple hours, heck, 4 in a row would be awesome.

Michelle, I don't have any fantastic advice on what to do when you thyroid is sluggish somedays. I usually combat it with tons of caffeine, which isn't the most healthy alternative. LOL oh well I do what I can. I hate feeling lazy, but somedays I just do no matter what I try. I don't think I like that image you left me with of a dog dragging it's arse across the floor! LOL Take it away!

Steve is out late tonight, so dinner is alone, which makes life a little easier for me actually. He will be home in time for some hot tub relaxing and he owes me a massage and I intend to collect. The boys are really out of whack today, so that makes me out of whack as well. Tomorrow we are visiting some friends for a playdate and I still have to go out and buy a b-day gift for him. It's not looking good, I may have to dash out tomorrow morning or something.

Night for now, I'll check in tomorrow.

-Di

spryng 06-09-2004 08:37 PM

Good evening all!

Dinner came out good. I didn't make the pepper steak, I ended up making those mexican pitas so I could have one for lunch and then had two at dinner! lol. But still all within my pts for the day. Tomorrow I'll make the pepper steak. I am getting so sore from my workout last night. Usually the second day after working out is my sorest day so that will be tomorrow. fun fun, lol. But I am sore from my shoulder blades down to my calves so I know I got a good workout in last night and I still plan to get in my Firm Abs tonight.

Michelle, I really hope it is TOM that has you feeling so worn out. I'd hate to think it is your thyroid acting up for you. You are such a light hearted and spirited person so I know feeling so tired must get you down. And congrats on getting dh to hide that scale!! See the addiction got to you. You can only weigh yourself when you know you won't be upset when it doesn't go down each time so once a week is much better for you. But then again weighing once a week makes it much more fun and you have something to work for each day! And that hot tub sounds sooo good. The tanning bed tonight felt great on my sore muscles... really relaxing. I didn't want to get out, lol.
Leigh congrats on those pants being big! That is a great NSV!! Doesn't it make you feel good. I have a couple pairs of size 13/14 shorts (they are junior size so they are cut smaller) and all I wanted to do was wear them this summer. I couldn't get them over my knees when I started ww and I threw them on yesterday and felt weird because I hadn't worn them in awhile (I have a couple favorite shorts I wear constantly) and they felt so strange because the butt was baggy and the waist was baggy and I wasn't sure what was going on until I looked at the label and saw what they were lol and I was very happy to know that. :)

Well... I started this post and had to run off because Tanner pulled on a lace table runner and pulled down the fish tank and two glass candles that busted into a million pieces. I saved the fish! lol. Took me awhile to clean up all the glass. So glad none of the kids got cut. Now they are in the bedroom watching Finding Nemo and I'm taking a breather.
Ok, I'm off here to watch Mistic River and work on my blanket. TTYL!

BIGtimeLOSER 06-09-2004 09:23 PM

Hey Kids!!!

I am a busy lady today, and I don't know what I have done!! LOL!!! Anyone have those days. My house looks good finally, all except my room, and I am working on it.

I am almost certain I will be below 200 this week and I am so excited!! I have been eating very well and drinking as much water as I can. I wore my pedometer today and am counting my steps. I am starting to walk with a friend in the morning. I saw some commercial with women who lost weight and had saggy skin...SCARY!!! So that was a huge motivator! I am hoping if I exercise alot I won't look like that. I can't afford plastic surgery to correct it!

Congrats to all for the big losses and the big clothes! I have on some capri exercise pants that would fall off if not for draw strings. Time for some new ones anyway cuz they look odd being big everywhere else.

Leigh...I will be up with you, cuz I am determined to have my whole house clean at once!!

Back in a bit, someone needs me.

Loveliam 06-09-2004 09:31 PM

Evening ladies!
Spryng - I know what you mean about being sore. I'm sore the day after doing my toning tapes. But I also figure at least I know it's doing something! Mexican Pitas sound good. That's awesome about the shorts being too big! It is a great feeling. I can't wait to see Mystic River! DH and I have it on our list to rent.

Di - hot tub??? That sounds wonderful. Part of DH's father's Day gift is a gift certificate for a massage at a spa here. We both love massages. Oh, the other part of his gift is dinner in Nashville, and me taking Liam out one weekend day so he can work on editing our home movies. That's his big hobby. Gee - I kind of went off on a tangent there, didn't I?

I see one of Liam's top teeth pushing through his gum, which thankfully explins his behavior the past few days. The house is coming together nicely. It isn't so much that I need to clean - it's more I have to finish getting my scrap space in order and doing a final surface straighten once that's complete. You know how organization is first messy? Later :)

Chubba 06-09-2004 09:55 PM

Hi ladies,

Geez, you miss morning post and it takes half the night to catch up
 .

Had to go to the mall to pick up the boys pictures today. Wasn't looking too forward to going because Will has been acting up in all stores. I took the double stroller which he generally loves to ride in and he did great. He remembered there is a train in the mall and I was hoping (foolishly) that he would forget all about it. He would never get on the thing...just wanted to watch it. Well today he finally rode in it and he didn't give me any hard time when it came time to leave. Maybe because I mentioned we were going to get him McDonald's for lunch (bribery gets you everywhere some days :o ).
So, anyway, I didn't get my exercise in today...oh well.

Ricci...congrats on the 2# babe! Glad your monitor is holding out.

Lisa...love your sense of humor. Please stick with us and post as much as you want. :D Our computer is in our basement so I don't get on much during nice weather because we play outside as much as possible. I have a great tan already! Sorry the TOPS meeting went poorly...my friends and I bring the average age of our group down (and we're all 40!)

Spryng...glad the kids didn't get cut and the fish survived. You actually can watch a movie when the kids are awake? Never in my house. Congrats on the workout. If it will help I will make the sacrifice and let you send the chocolate cake my way ;) .

Michelle....bring on the Margarita's and I'll get Jimmy and we'll have another break in the deck party!! Wooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo...sorry, got a little carried away there :o . We've had 2 small parties but one was inside due to the rain. This afternoon the 3 of us spent almost an hour in the "big Pool" (ok, it's like 30" high) and about an hour or so later the wind shifted and it's darn cold out.... needed a sweatshirt just to water the flowers. Tomorrow is supposed to be cold too :( . Maybe I'll just post all day and drive you all nuts..ha ha. Or I could exercise and clean the house...hmmmm.

Leigh, I was wondering about Dh...the few times I caught any G8 news it was a black man named Wendell and not Jonathan. I'll keep checking it out though. Caught some of the Regan coverage tongiht and it really bummed me out. Poor Nancy...she's 82 and has to go through all this state funeral stuff. It is rather touching.

Di...the never stop getting into everything. Good luck with the new thingies!

Well, hello to everyone else out there. I'm tired and going to go straighten upstairs. I'll check back in tomorrow.

BIGtimeLOSER 06-09-2004 10:21 PM

Lisa...Glad to see you really taking your plan and making it work for you! I think small, short term goals will help you stay motivated! That's what I have done and I have lost over 26 pounds(can't wait to see how much over on friday!) since 3/30.

WTG!!!

Loveliam 06-09-2004 10:27 PM

Lisa - how wonderful that you felt good about your choices at lunch! Good for you. Also, I do think the smaller goals are a good idea. I suppose this depends upon the individual, but mini-goals work better for me (as you can see in my signature).

Geri - Glad Will cooperated at the mall - I find these things are always hit or miss. And no amount of planning can really do any good! Yeah, wish they'd either put DH on air or just send him home! I'll let you know the next time he's supposed to be on, though.

MichelleRae 06-09-2004 10:58 PM

Hey Girls!!

Wow so many posts!!

Di - LOL well I was thinking about having some caffeine to combat the sluggish feeling but I just couldnt do it lol coffee makes me sooo jittery I hate that feeling so I'll just have to deal with it! lol Sorry about the dog butt image lol I have a sick sense of humor girl!!

Lisa - Sorry to hear your TOPS meeting was horrible!! From what I've heard usually TOPS is pretty good! Maybe you should report that chapter. It doesn't seem as if they are doing what the group was formed to do. Good job on setting some short term goals!

Spryng - Man oh man I am coming to your house for supper, and then we both can go to Geri's house for margaritas afterwards lol!! Your dinners always sound so great!! I still haven't made the asian burritos maybe this weekend! Don't you love how your muscles "hurt so good" after a workout? I just love it!!

Geri - Well I think we need to have a "fat chick" breaking in the deck party lol and it better not rain or the Wisconsin weather gods will have to deal with the wrath of michelle, **** hath no fury like a womans scorn ;) lol I watched the Reagan Funeral too and it brought me to tears! He really was a great man!! And didn't Nancy handle it all with such grace? I was so impressed and touched!

Cindi - How goes it girl? I can't wait to see your weigh in!!!

Leigh - I think I see one of Teagans top teeth coming in too but when I feel the gums there doesn't seem to be a tooth lol oh well we'll see in the next few days. Can you believe our lil babes will be 8 months old soon!! It seems like I just had her yesterday.

Well girls of course I'm exhausted again I swear tomorrow I'll be up and running like normal or I hope so at least, So I'm going to go to bed early and get a good nights rest and hopefully I'll be all good tomorrow!
Have a good night girls!!
Michelle

spryng 06-09-2004 11:33 PM

Hello again!

Well Tanner managed to break another glass candle motif tonight. Ugh. He was on a roll I guess. But he settled down after that one. It cut his little foot, but just a scratch really. But I guess i will be putting all my glass things WAY up tomorrow. lol

Michelle, come on over for dinner anyday! lol. Leanne Ely (the author of Saving Dinner) just finished her next book and it's a low carb saving dinner. So maybe you can look into it when it gets published. :) And your little baby will be 8 months old soon and my baby will be one year on the 24th of this month!! :sp: This past year has really flown by. Hope you get a great nights sleep and feel more like yourself tomorrow.

Lisa, I think smaller goals are a great idea. But your long term goals were very reasonable too. I think you are going to do great. Sorry that TOPS meeting was a drag for you. But at least you really like curves.

Geri, so how did the boys pics turn out? And yes I can normally watch a movie when the kids are up, lol. But of course tonight Tanner was on his rampage and I was cleaning up alot of broken glass. But I have only seen about 1 hr of Mystic River so far and I like it. I'll finish it tomorrow. But normally the kids play in their rooms when I watch a movie, they are really good most of the time.

Leigh congrats on Liam getting a tooth! So what did you end up using your left over pts on tonight? I had a 0 pt fudgesicle that was really good as my after dinner snack. The kids had one too.

Cindi, I am looking forward to your WI this week. i think you will hit ONE-DERLAND too!! :cloud9: You sound very excited about it. And yes, getting in lots of exercise and toning now will help combat saggy skin later, but remember that it can take up to a year after losing the weight to get your skin elasticity back so be patient. My stomach actually feels like it is firming up finally. I truly believe I can have a flat toned stomach again even after 3 kids. Maybe I am wrong but I will do my best to see if it's true, lol.

Well, I am very tired so I'm off to bed. Hope everyone has a wonderful evening and a great nights sleep. TTYL!

mompen 06-10-2004 08:00 AM

Hi Ladies,

I know another flyby.... I will be back after Saturday I promise!

Just so much to do for a party I tell ya! LOL

I have to go get dressed and ready really quick before the kids get up. We have been running all week and today I have to go to another town to pick up some things for the party.

Hope everyone is having a great day :)

I will take me all day Sunday to catch up on posts ;)

Penny

missy428 06-10-2004 08:54 AM

Hi! I'm new to this site today and also a stay at home mom and have a small home daycare. I'm currently @ 141 but would like to see 125 again. I workout 5 days a week and find that I really do enjoy it. I wake up an hour early so I can do it. NAGSALOT--I read your post and if it refers to the woman who attempted suicide, I saw nothing wrong. It just goes to show if your support systems are in place you can do some amazing things.

MichelleRae 06-10-2004 08:56 AM

Penny!!!! Glad to hear you are just busy!! I bet the party is going to be a smash!! Pictures girl Pictures!!!! I can't wait to see!!

Lisa - I'm sorry to hear that you won't be staying with us, Good luck in your journey!

Spryng - Our little babies are growing up so fast!! I can't believe it!! Are you having a party for Tanner? I don't really do big birthday parties, I just invite my niece and nephew's and my two sisters and thats it. I think for Taylors big birthday present daddy and grandpa are going to build her a big play house for outside. She'll love that! I was going to buy one but they are small, and expensive lol, so I would like to have one that she can play with for a few years.

Well Teagan woke up early this morning and I am tired but hopefully that will pass lol. I'm going to have 1 cup of coffee and hopefully it won't make me too jittery. Oh also I'm pretty sure our horrible neighbors moved out WOO HOO but anyway there was a maid service there cleaning the house and it looked completely empty so I'm hoping lol.
My house definately needs some work today so I need to get it back in order. I'll check in later!!

Michelle

MichelleRae 06-10-2004 08:58 AM

Missy - Welcome to 3fc! I'm michelle sahm to 2 year old Taylor and 7 month old Teagan (both girls) I'm sure you'll find the support you need here, I know I have. This is a great group of women. I hope to get to know you!
Michelle

need2losemore 06-10-2004 09:36 AM

First, welcome to missy and a belated welcome to nags. I am Ricci, sahm to two boys 5 and 3. Nags, I saw nothing wrong with your post, and glad that you shared it. I hope you will reconsider posting, but if not, at least come in once in a while and say hi. Missy, you will find the women here a great support group on your weight loss journey, and through the ups and downs of mother hood.
Well, my MIL was here last night. With her fat little dog, too. We aren't supposed to have pets in here, even to visit. Well, we snuck the dog in, and were doing great. Then DH went to take a shower, and he walked into the bathroom and there was a huge puddle on the floor. It was coming from our hot water heater. We had to call matinence, who still haven't come by the way, and then we thought we had to do something with that friggin dog. I hope next time she comes through the dog will be put into a kennel. We can't really afford to get kicked out of our apartment right now.
Yesterday morning I did 30 minutes of aerobics, and then last night I went and rode 6 miles on my bike. I can't belive the different muscles you use when you bike. My thighs hurt really bad right now.
Spryng, sorry for Tanner pulling things off the shelf. He seems to be a very mischevious little boy.LOL. I am going to be going to cosmetology school. Part time in the evenings, so it will take me a little over a year to get it done. Hi  Cindi, Geri, Michelle, Penny,Crystal, and all I missed. Have a great OP day everyone.

need2losemore 06-10-2004 09:37 AM

P.S. Matinence just showed up!

spryng 06-10-2004 10:10 AM

Good morning all!

Lisa, I don't understand why you would stop posting with us! You post many times a day and are very motivating and encouraging. Are you stopping because of that pm to you from that woman? Most of us women here are friends so we share personal things with each other. I know I went through a rough time 2 years ago with my marriage and I confided in a couple great gals here about it and they really helped me get through it. I didn't know any subjects were taboo on this site. So sorry someone was rude to you about your post. If they didn't like it all they had to do was scroll down and skip it, you know? But none the less, I wish the best for you and I hope you keep us updated on your progress. I know you will get that weight off again and keep it off this time. Take care!

Ricci, so what did you do with the dog when maintanance showed up? We lived in an apartment once where we weren't suppose to have pets but I bought a ferret and "hid" it for quite some time. The manager finally found out but she was nice and said as long as I stated it wouldn't ever get out of it's cage (even though it was rarely in it's cage) I could keep it. I have an aunt and uncle who have been "hiding" a huge doberman pincher in their apartment for years now. Hope you don't get in any trouble. Cosmetogoly school sounds like fun. It is all about makeup or skin care or what? Sounds like something I would be good at, lol.

Michelle, no I am not having a party for Tanner. I think I mentioned in previous posts that we just don't get into holidays and such. Maybe someday that will change but it's all I know right now, lol. I hope your neighbors moved out too! lol. They seems pretty immature and awful. And now maybe they'll just sell the house to a nice family. How are you feeling today?

WELCOME MISSY! I am Spryng, mother of 3. What plan are you on? How many children do you care for in your home? I think that is so great that you get up early to exercise. i wish I could drag myself out of bed sometimes but I am not a morning person. I usually exercise before I go to bed at night. What exercises or workout video do you do? I am on weight watchers and I hit my goal weight in april and now am just trying to get off a few more lbs for a cushion, you know? But I'm stuck on a plateau right now. I know it will eventually break and the weight come off but sometimes I get impatient. (it's been 8 weeks of no losses now) But I guess you can say I'm maintaining well, lol. I look forward to getting to know you better! Post often if possible! Oh and how many kids (and ages) do you have?

Penny, I hope your party is great! I'll look forward to seeing more of you after saturday! :)

OK, what does everyone have planned for today? And for dinner? Me? I am going to work on my house some this morning. I'm hoping this soreness starts to subside so I can get some stuff done. For dinner tonight I'm making that pepper steak (was going to make it last night but ended up doing those pitas instead) But today I'm just hanging around the house. This sunday I will be going to see my bf for the first time since she had her baby. The baby is over 2 months old now. I just haven't had a chance to see her yet. So I am looking forward to that. My DH's cousin is watching all 3 of my kids that day so I can go alone. So I will have a nice visit.
ok, guess I'll get off here and get my day going. TTYL!

MichelleRae 06-10-2004 10:17 AM

Ricci - Good Morning girly!!

Spryng - I'm feeling pretty good today so far lol, had a bit of a rocky start as teagan was up early and I wasn't quite ready to get up lol. I asked her for one more hour and she said no way mom get your butt up so, here I am lol.

I'm planning a 6 mile walk today and some weight training, I need to give my metabolism a swift kick in the you know what ;)

Have a great day!
Michelle

watkinsguru 06-10-2004 10:24 AM

Good Morning

Hi All. I haven't posted since yesterday morning and that was just a short little post. I just don't feel like being on the computer lately. I don't feel like doing ANYTHING lately. I'm fixing to have to clean the kitchen from breakfast.

Di, I hope you checked out Watkins. Please let me know what you think about it.
Ricci, Congrats on the 2# loss, that is great. What kind of school did you enroll in?
Michelle, you tired too, huh? Could be your new job at nights. Just something out of the ordinary may tire you out. Hope that gets better for you. Thanks for the offer on maternity clothes, but it's a good thing that you gave them to others that truly need them. I've got alot to get anyways, thinking Andrew was my last I got rid of all maternity clothes, all baby clothes, high chair, carrier and a few other things. Oh well, this baby will get new stuff or at least garage sale stuff.
Leigh, wtg on the pants being too big. That is such a great feeling.
Spryng, sorry about all the glass around your house, just one of those days, huh? Tell me how Mystic River was, I really want to see it.
Welcome Missy, I'm Crystal, 26 yo sahm of 3; almost 4. Alisa 5, Ally 3, and Andrew 18 mo. I found out I'm expecting early February. But I'm sticking around and hopefully going to make this the healthiest pregnancy yet. I'd like to here more from you. Tell us about you alittle. How many kids do you have? This support group is WONDERFUL, you'll find no other groups like this one.
Lisa, so sorry to hear about you leaving us so soon. I didn't see anything wrong with your post, in fact, it's a personal testimony used to motivate and show support. WTG!!!
Well, I'm still and constantly nauseas. Food makes me sick but I still have to cook it. Once I eat it I'm okay but I usually don't want it. I didn't want dinner last night, broiled chicken so I had a salad and banana. Later though I got hungry and had a baked potato with the works, no sour cream. You all know I use to be up at 6 am or before, I didn't crawl out of bed or off the couch until almost 830 this morning. It's really bad. I think this one is alittle worse than the others and definitely lasts longer, this one is 24/7.
I'll get over it.
I hope everyone is having a great day and I'll try to check in later if I feel up to it.

Crystal - I don't think it is just the preg. making you tired. Maybe it is the changing of the seasons. I have been extremely tired lately as well. When I went to the gym, the instructor said that he has been really tired lately as well. Don't overdo it, just get the basics down.

Lisa - Like Spryng said, you are a great motivator. Thanks for all your insight.

We are throwing a baby shower this weekend, so I am getting ready for that. JW is suppose to have a playdate today, but I am not in the mood all the planning I have to. The mom and I go to church together and have sons close in age, but I really don't have much in common with her. Maybe I am hesitant bc she as skinny as a rail after the baby. If I surround myself with thin people, does it happen like osmosis. I think I will go anyway, JW needs some playmates. We have a MOMs Night Out, so I am looking forward to getting out for dinner.
I am totally weaned this Sunday, but I am so sore. Any suggestions? I have the tighest bra I have on and I have put cabbage on them. Probably has something to do with the mood. TOM is almost over so maybe it will get better.
Hello to all. I cannot remember a thing from all the post.
Melinda

Chubba 06-10-2004 11:21 AM

Good morning ladies :coffee: :coffee:

Let me first address Lisa. Please, please, please do not let the opinion of one person stop you from posting with us. I enjoy reading all of your posts ALOT. If that one person doesn't like the fact that we live in America and are entitled to have our own opinions then maybe she shouldn't post here anymore. That same person may have also posted things that I or others didn't like and they have no right to be rude to you. I'm going to PM you my home email address because I still want to hear from you. If that's what's going to happen on this site, then I too may have to stop posting.

I'm sorry, I'm very very angry right now so I'm going to stop this post. No one has the right to censure what another wants to say.

I'll check back in later........ maybe.

Loveliam 06-10-2004 11:30 AM

Morning :)

Ohhhh . . . I cannot wait for my WI tomorrow! I, of course peeked at the scale and am very excited, but will hold out on posting my "offical" results until tomorrow.

Michelle - I know, I feel like it was only yesterday that I was pregnant, not almost one year ago! It's very sad and makes me want to have a baby every year  I send positive engery enhancement your way :) I hope you're feeling back to normal today. As for coffee, if it makes you jittery, you may want to try mixing 1/2 regular coffee with 1/2 decaf.

Spryng - So, Tanner thinks his job is to destroy the candle holders? Liam believes his main mission in life is to pull all the CDs off the shelves. I ended up having 1/2 a cup of Ben & Jerry's lowfat chocolate fudge brownie yogurt, but the 1/2 cup is 4 points!!! An indulgence I usually can't have. But then I still had 2 points that I didn't use. My appetite has definitely changed over the past month. I didn't realize it can take up to a year after weight loss for your skin to tone up. I am very curious to see what happens with my abs once I lose all the weight. I think if I have another baby, I'm going to be very careful and do some modified version of WW, where I just add points deppending on what my Midwife/Doctor says.

Lisa - it sounds like you have a very strong spirit that will get you through until you're at your goal weight. Sorry to see you leave, but best of luck in your goals.

Hey, Penny! Have fun at the party :)

Missy - Hi! Welcome to the group. I'm Leigh - SAHM to a 7-month-old son named Liam and happily married for 2 years to a wonderful DH :) I'm on Weight Watchers - what program/plan are you using? I've lost a lot in my first month, but you have to wait until my Weigh In tomorrow for my current weight  Nice to meet you!

Ricci - hello! I hope the dog and water heater stuff gets sorted out. Bravo for the good workout. 6 miles is awesome. Hey - can you say you're just dogsitting?

Crystal - sorry you're still feeling so bad. I know it feels yucky while you're going through it, but hopefully it will pass after a couple more weeks. ((hugs)) to you - hope you feel better.

Melinda - the shower sounds like fun. As for the thin mom - you probably missed my post about this. I refer to them all as "nannies." Certainly, they can't truly be the children's mothers.

Di - are you watching the "behind the scenes" Starting Over? It's kind of interesting. I'm glad I finally got to see Lori's original story becuase I started watching the show after the first episode and never knew how her husband died. Actually, they still didn't give specifics - like was it a heart attack?

Well, my plans today. Our first wave of family arrives around 5pm. The house is in order - I finally realized I couldn't organize an entire scrap space in one evening, so I got it 1/2 way done and will do the rest over the next week. I feel good because I did get a lot done, though. Threw out one big bag of old stuff and then have another pile of materials I'm no longer using that I can donate.

My downstairs neighbor, who I walk with, was saying that she can really tell I've lost weight now. (Nice to hear!). But, she was saying that she just can't stay OP and was asking how I'm sticking so well to the plan. I thought about it, and said, "You know, it's nothing I can completely explain. I began trying to lose weight back in January, and kept not sticking to it. But then, something just clicked inside me at my last appointment with my midwife, and it's like now there's no going back." And I know I definitely have my set backs here and there . . . but before I would have just gone off plan in response. Now that no longer seems like an option. I just start over the next day. I'm really hoping this somehow means my mind has accepted this as a lifestyle change :crossed: And ya'll have been so helpful for me!

Okay, Liam's awake . . .

BIGtimeLOSER 06-10-2004 11:49 AM

WOO HOO Leigh! Sounds like you are doing well. Maybe we will BOTH have a great weigh in tomorrow.

Lisa...I don't see a thing wrong with your post. Just remember you can't please everyone, but to me that post is exactly the type of inspiration we come here to get. I wouldn't let the opinion of one or even a few keep me from doing what I need to do to get healthy and achieve my goals. I can't imagine that the opinion the poster shared with you spoke for the majority here or even 3FC as a whole. Just keep on doing what you are doing and don't sweat it!!

Crystal...Sorry you feel rotten, but it is a normal part of the first trimester, so it WILL get better...eventually.

Welcome Missy!! This is a great place and you will be glad you decided to stick around with us!

To everyone else...HAve a great OP day!

DH isn't working again...sigh! He did have a positive interview this morning though, so pray hard for us!

Hope is coughing her head off, so we are off to the doc again today. The rest of the gang is doing fairly well. I exercised with weights some last night. Didn't get my walk in because dh had to leave so early in my vehicle, his battery died. But I will sometime today. I am cleaning lots, didn't get my room done last night...I had a terrible headache to deal with. But I ate well and will do so again today.

Spryng...I am having Salmon tonight thanks to you! I got some very fresh stuff at the market last night and I am going to go buy a grill to cook it on today! LOL!! How was yours? I can't remember for sure if I read about it. I can't even remember for sure that it was you who cooked it. LOL!!

Back later to see how we are doing!

DianeJ 06-10-2004 12:08 PM

Hi Ladies, the boys are snacking downstairs so I have a few moments to pop in and say Howdy! My weigh in was fine, didn't lose, didn't gain, in a way I'm glad I didn't lose the pound I thought I was, keeps me more motivated to stay OP, know what I mean.

Spryng, we are watching Mystic River this weekend, I've read the book, it's going to be sad to me, so I don't know how I feel about watching it. Great job on rescuing the fish, you truly are Super Mom! It must have been such a mess to clean up.

Cindi, I know what you mean about having your house clean all at once, it would be an amazing feet! I swear it's only clean in sections right now, then by time I get to another part of the house, the original "clean" part is messy again. Such is life I guess.

Leigh, i absolutely adore massages. I can't talk Steve into them at all! His father's day gifts involve many things for Fly Fishing, his newest passion. I ordered him a really nice fishing rod holder and some other stuff like that. I originally wanted to turn the whole office into his fishing space, but soon realized I could never get that done in time. It sounds like you've planned a nice time out for hubby on Father's day too.

Lisa, sorry your TOPS meeting was such a bust, but glad to see it hasn't deterred your motivation. Good job on the work outs and setting some smaller goals.

Geri, have fun cleaning! Can you beleive those words flew out of my stupid mouth? Neither can I!

My boys are extrememly gumpy today, I don't know why thier diapers are all in a bunch, but it's put me in a pissy mood. We have a playdate today, so I better get a move on and wrap his birthday gift as well. I hope they have fun and don't make me regret taking them out in public! Wish me luck,

Di

MichelleRae 06-10-2004 12:38 PM

Hey girls!!

Lisa - I agree with everyone, we all share intimate things here with each other and if we can't accept eachother and the experiences that make us who we are then maybe that one person doesn't belong here, however I would feel very saddened if one of the ladies that posts with us had that response to your post :(. I think that it is experiences like yours that make us stronger today!! I hope you'll reconsider!

Di - I'm with ya on the crabby kids lol. My girls were up early so they already had a morning nap and its 10:30 Teagan I think has one of her top front teeth coming in, the gum in that area is white so I'm sure I'll feel a poke in there in the next few days, awww my baby is getting her third tooth!! Girl I don't ever take my girls out in public on my own lol I can't control Taylor who sometimes throws temper tantrums at a store and one day that i took them to walmart with my sister and her kids, Taylor took off running and I had to chase her down pushing a cart with teagan in it lol and i had stuff I was going to buy and I had to run with the cart and unpaid items almost out the front doors, the ladie who scans the items for security tags at the front door thought i was going to run off with the stuff LOL and I said I'm sorry but I needed to catch my daughter and she was like, "well do you want me to say something to her?" I said no thanks I can handle it and she said something like "well it doesn't appear so" UGHHHHHH snippy ***** lol!! She was one of those women who probably never had kids so doesn't know what its like for us moms!!

Melinda - I'm sorry your breasts are sore, I don't think there is really anything to do for it except maybe some ibuprofen, I used the cabbage leave remedy when I was engorged and OMG it felt soooo wonderful!!

Cindi - I really hope that Hope starts feeling better, I'd hope for even one good day when your house is totally calm lol. I'm sure you do too!! Calgon take me away!!! If you need a vacation, come on out and visit!! I'll make sure its quiet for you.

Leigh - OMG!!! I'm sooooo excited to hear your WI tomorrow!!! Yipeeee!! Its gonna be just wonderful!!!! You are always so busy, I guess we just don't have as much to do here lol. But I love the laid back pace it suits me fine :)

Geri - Pleeeaasseeee don't leave us too :( I always look forward to hearing from you and how your day with the devils went :) I got a 3 mile walk in today, and planning on 3 more a little later.

Spryng - Did you decide on the pepper steak for tonight? I'm thinking of making the asian burritos but I have to make sure I have all the ingredients, if not I'll just make turkey chili again yumm!!

Well I need to go do some weight training (30 min) and then I'll come post again.
Love to all!
Michelle

Loveliam 06-10-2004 02:07 PM

Hi, Ladies! I can't believe that up until now I didn't realize I could have 5 popped cups of lowfat popcorn for only 1 point! Popcorn is so filling, too.

Everyone - thanks for the kind words about my upcoming WI day. I'm very excited about it.

Cindi - can't wait to hear about your WI too! Sorry about DH, I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers - hugs to you! Wishing Hope a speedy recovery.

Di - congrats on maintaining - you're working hard and I know the scale will very soon reflect that. Hope the boys get in a better mood at their playdate. Do they have the same moods - I mean, will one be grumpy and one happy sometimes? I imagine so, but since you said they're both grumpy, I was curious :)

Michelle- am I busy? I guess I am. Maybe that's why I have no time to do anything productive . . . well, other than raise Liam, that is! Liam's tooth will be his third too - sounds like he and Teagan are on the same schedule in lots of areas - what fun. Do you pronounce her name Tee-gan or Tay-gan?

Okay, Liam is napping, so I'm going to get in an abs workout. I already did my thigh/butt toning during his morning nap!

need2losemore 06-10-2004 02:41 PM

Just a quickie,
Nags, that is too funny!!!! Have a great afternoon all.

MichelleRae 06-10-2004 02:52 PM

OMG!!! ROFLMAO!!! Nags that is friggen hilarious!!!

Way to go on the walk!! I got at least another 3 miles ahead of me for today. I'm thinking I may do more so I can have some of hubbys oatmeal cookies omg they are sooo goood!!! But I really need to work hard today if I'm going to allow myself a treat!!

Ricci - Good to see your monitor still hasnt died lol!!

Leigh - We pronounce it Tee-gan Teagan Kinsey (kin-zee) Yes they do seem to be hitting the mile stones together! Well when he's old enough for a girlfriend I know a lil cutie pie!! ;) of course I'm biased lol.

Ok I need to clean up some more!
Michelle

Chubba 06-10-2004 03:14 PM

Awwwwwwwww Michelle,

You know I'll never leave. I was just really not happy this morning and venting. I knew I would eventually get over it.

LISA! Hoooray for you! You know, I thought about posting something about my x-rated past too...but I don't think I could come up with something as damn funny as the Thunder Thigh Topless Tramp :lol3: I'm so glad you're sticking with us. You crack me up!

Leigh...looking forward to your WI results! :corn: I re-read the popcorn package several times before I could believe the low calorie/fat counts. Thank God for small favors!! :D

Di, you crack me up too! Somedays the first thing that comes out of Will's mouth is crabbing and whining and it usually dampers my whole day. Good luck with the birthday playdate. Congrats on maintaining. I keep saying that I almost wish I would have a gain because I have been snacking and maybe that would get me to stop...but I don't really want a gain you know??

Cindi, with all those kids, I'm sure you don't have too many days without one of them feeling bad! I hope all gets well soon and keep up the great work you have been doing!

Hello Missy...stick around...this really is a great group of women! :dizzy: ;) :D I have two boys, Will-3 and Tony-1.

Spryng, the pics are the one's I posted a couple of weeks ago from Sears...one is my avatar. Tanner sure is giving you a rough one the past day or so!! We have those plastic storage bins all over the house blocking Tony's way. I don't think my house ever looks...I don't want to say clean..I guess uncluttered is the word to use. It looks lived in...toys everywhere til the boys go to bed...but that's the way it is with little ones. Did you get the rest of the few breakables put away?? Glad he didn't hurt himself other than the scratch.

Melinda...cabbage leaves??? Never heard that one myself. Hope you dry up quickly and the soreness goes away soon! Good luck with the baby shower :D .

Ricci...your monitor is still working! I want another bike ride sooo bad. It's not my legs that hurt afterward though.. :o ..you would think with padded bike shorts and a padded seat that certain parts wouldn't hurt...geeezzz! I love riding though. It's been raining most of the day here :( . Is the water heater fixed?

Tonight I'm going out for girl's dinner. We missed last month 'cause it totally got away from us! I need a night out. Poor Dh has been working 12 hour days (good overtime $$) but he hasn't seen much of the boys or me lately. He and I can catch up this weekend before TOM gets here :o  I probably won't get a post in tonight. Tomorrow I finally get the new dishwasher installed! They don't call until tomorrow to tell me what time they're coming so I'll have to sit and wait for the phone to ring :( . Oh well! Can't wait to not wash dishes again.

OK, maybe I'll post again later, maybe not!! ;) See ya!

spryng 06-10-2004 03:21 PM

Good afternoon all!

First off let me say LISA I'm so glad you are staying with us!! :) And you have a great sense of humor! LOL. You should join us for chat sometime. We get to cracking up so much. But please stay with us and ignore that pm, obviously that lady isn't even part of our group so why should she have a right to judge you at all, she doesn't know any of us. But welcome back!!! :)
Leigh, yes most popcorns are low in pts and they are especially delicious if you use that spray margerine on it. (0 pts also) Just don't eat it too close to WI because it makes you retain like crazy!
Michelle, yes I did decide on the pepper steak tonight. It's like a spaghetti with steak in it... sounds good though. Let me know how you like those asian burritos if you make them.
Di, so mystic river will be sad??? Oh no! I'll be finishing it tonight. But if it's a tear jerker now I know to have some tissues handy. I do like what I've seen of it so far. And yes, it was quite a mess to clean up last night. Don't want to do it again. But Tanner has been fine all day. Playing with the other two and staying out of mommy's things, lol. Have you ever done flylady?? She can get your house clean and it stay clean without it wearing you out. Check out her site sometime www.flylady.net I just love it.
Cindi, so sorry your dh is once again without a job. Must be so frustrating to you. I hope he finds something quick. How did Hope's doc appointment go today? And yes it was me that had salmon the other day, lol. It came out pretty good. I thought it was very meaty for a fish. I think I prefer white fish like cod because of the lighter texture but salmon was good too. I'll be having it again next week... honey bbq salmon and am looking forward to that :)
Leigh, I am anxiously awaiting your WI tomorrow! Sounds like you've done great this week. i wanted to peek at the scale all week but haven't. I just don't want to see the same numbers every time. So I am hoping this extra exercise this past week has helped break my stall but I won't know until tomorrow. Wish me luck!! LOL. And that Ben a Jerry's sounds great. But even their low fat is high in pts, yikes. But I'm sure it was delicious. I truly believe that we can have nice abs again even after babies. Maybe not for women who had c-sections since it damages the muscle but I think (and maybe I'm naive) but I truly think I can have a flat stomach again if I work really really hard at it. What do you think? I read susan powters book a couple of years ago, Stop the Insanity was the name and she had a baby and was WAY overweight and lost all her weight through diet and exercise and she said you can have washboard abs without surgery. I believed her. So I'm going to work really hard to see if it true, lol. But I agree with you also about doing a modified ww if I was to get pregnant again. Not that that is an option for me, I mean I only have a .1 % chance of getting pregnant but if for some reason I did I too would continue doing ww and only gaining a small amount of weight. I never want to be as heavy as I got with my other 3 pregnancies. Never. What plan is your neighbor doing and having trouble sticking with?
Geri, I am so sorry you are upset about that rude person who pm'd Lisa. I understand how hateful it was of that person. I hope you can feel better about it soon and post with us. You also are a great asset to this thread. :)
Melinda, I hope that soreness subsides soon. I didn't breastfeed (only 5 days with Ava and none with the other two) but I remember the painful part of being engorged and having to dry up. It was miserable. Just try not to do anything to relieve the pressure, like pumping or letting hot water run on them. That will just prolong it.
Crystal, I understand how tired you are and not wanting to do anything. You are at a very tiresome spot and nauseas spot in your pregnancy. It will subside as you know, just hang in there. Don't feel bad that you can't post a dozen times a day. We know you are resting and taking care of yourself. Just post when you feel up to it.

Well my afternoon has been fine. Haven't really got anything much done around here. But I did finish my blanket!! I am working on the hood now which is half way done. I hope to have it all together this evening. I'm trying to upload those pictures I took last weekend but for some reason my online photo site is having problems, but I am trying. And I will take a picture of the blanket when it's completed too. I can't wait to get it done because I'm going to start a big afghan for DH tomorrow! It's made with a Q Hook and uses two strands of yarn at once and is suppose to work up pretty fast. I'm excited about it.
Ok, think I will grab a short nap. TTYL!

Chubba 06-10-2004 03:46 PM

Spryng, I'm still here :) ;)! If I was really serious I would have given you a call.

I think you can have great abs if you work at it. I never had them and don't want to work that hard anymore (LOL). I'll just work on getting smaller for now! Are you up from that nap yet????? CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CRUNCH!!
Love ya! (so don't hate me for gettin on ya ;) )

Michelle...that was a perfect post for today.......THANKS :D BTW, I got in my 4 miles this morning...so you don't have to do any for me today. ;)

Loveliam 06-10-2004 04:10 PM

Hey, Lisa. I'm glad you're sticking to your goals. 12 minutes is 12 minutes. Very soon, you'll surprise yourself with how much longer/further you can go :)

Michelle - I'll keep that in mind when Liam gets a bit older! Thank you for the sweet blessings!

Spryng - uh-oh - my WI is tomorrow! Hope the popcorn doesn't mess me up. Well, it was only one serving, and I'll try and drink tons of water to cleanse out my system :) I can't wait for your WI either - I wonder if the exercise will show up? As for abs, I did have a C-section, so I have no idea what's reasonable to expect. My incision was very low, though - I think they call it a bikini-line incision. My friend is doing WW also, but I can tell her heart isn't quite in it yet. She's excerising a lot, which is great, so I'm not sure what she'll eventually decide. Can't wait to see pictures of your crochet work.

Geri - I totally know what you mean about having detours all over the house. I keep placing chairs, toys, etc. in certain places so Liam won't get into certain areas. Have fun at girl's dinner!

I'm now kind of excited for the relatives to get here. It will be a nice break for me - built-in extra hands. I'm making turkey chili, rice, slad, and bread. Of this, I am not having rice so I can have a slice of bread, and only a small portion of chili, of course!

MichelleRae 06-10-2004 04:27 PM

Starting a new thread!! See you all there!!
