Hello girls, I am sorry I have not been on in a while, busy with my crappy job and with having a crappy time. I have been on evry day reading the posts, but frankly I had nothing interesting to say. I really do nothing and my life is pretty boring.
Jana: I will add my two cents worth to all the others by saying you are such a role model for the weight loss along with susan. My thoughts and prayers were with you doing your trying times lately. Sorry I didn't get a card out to say so.
Marti: say missy haven't heard from you in quite a while. What's up with that. We need to get together, I am going into friends withdrawal. I don't care what we do, just to have my friend to talk to would be wonderful. How about those kitties, are the gone yet???? I am glad you got a nice new bed and James is spoiling you with good things. i am also glad that he will be close by for a while, because i was worrying about you being alone too much. I just wish that we could get together more, but with my crappy job, I am stuck in agony five nights a week.
Angie: thank you so much for that nice card you sent me. It is always nice to get something in the mail personal. I just wish all us gals could meet, so a face could be put to the niceness.
Well, I better get ready for the pain of work and dealing with mean stupid people. I just wanted to make an appearance so people would not think I was dead or something although it doesn't think like anyone was missing me. At least i haven't been gone as long a kayecee. Anyone know what happenned to that funny gal????
Anywho chow for now.

Angie
Shanna--Of coarse we all miss you so don't think that we don't. As with the job....just think of it this way...at least you have a job. It could be worse you could still be waiting to hear from somebody who wants to hire you. There were time when working for Foster Farms that I really hated that job, but now I look at it as....at least I had a job. And it paid for things that needed paid. Don't worry.....you'll be back into school and you'll get that job as a Dentist assistant and you'll be all kinds of happy. We'll have to figure out when we can get together.
Angie--Did you buy me any capri's??? I've been looking for some that I would like, but haven't found any yet. I guess I hate to buy too many pants that I want to outgrow!! (stupid thinking I know...I need something to wear now!) Any word on the house?
Well, I have to say I'm extremely full! Too full at that! Ate too much as usual. I don't know why I think my plate needed an endless supply of food tonight!! I usually do so good!! Must change my ways now before it really gets out of hand!!
Off I go to snuggle on the couch with James and watch my belly expand!!
Hello. Have a chance to pop in here again. Nothing much going on at my house tonight. I am feeling quite a bit better, but have the ultrasound on Thurs. Our weather is getting hot..so guess what, our central air goes out today. I hope they can fix it tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed for us. Otherwise we might roast.
Marti..Sounds like you are enjoying having James home.
Hey Marti,
nothing at all...I am getting worried we will never sell this place...thing is its really a cute house,,,its just TOO SMALL for all of us. Read somewhere that if you bury a St. Joseph facing south , face down you will sell your house....hmmmm just can't bring myself to to do something like that.
ya know kidding about the capris,,,I must own about 10 pairs now.
well off to work I go...have a great day all
Angie
Marti - my family had our reunion at the shelter house at the park. I really liked that. The kids played, and the women sat around and talked while the men played washer-boards. There was lots of laughter, and some tears as we remembered the ones who just died. Even with that, it was still a real good day.
Shanna - aww, sweetie, I'm sorry your job stinks. Maybe you could find a different one for the rest of the summer? But like Marti says, just keep in mind that it's paying the bills, and you'll be back in school before you know it. Btw, I have missed you, but I don't say too much about you not being here so you won't feel pressured to post when you don't feel like it. Regarding Kayecee, I personally don't think she will be back for a long time if at all, but I could be wrong.... I hope I am.
Angie - hope your friends both get hired where you work. I gotta tell you, when we sold our house (in 11 days) in town, here are a couple of things I did when someone was coming over for a look-see. Right before I left, I would bake a batch of chocolate chip cookies - you can use the sliced dough kind - which makes the house smell divine and seem homey! Homemade bread smell is better, but who's got time for that?? Also, I took all the cluttery stuff and stored it. And I made sure the table was set very cosily for 2, with nice placemats, napkins, lighted candles and a centerpiece. Also, the realtor had me turn on the lights in every room. The people's financing fell through, but then we sold it right away to somebody else. Just some ideas that might help.....
Hi to Cristi and the others...
Shanna thinks her life is boring.... she oughtta hang out with me for awhile, lol. Actually, after all the commotion we have had in the past couple of weeks, I'll take "boring" any day, lol. Went to town with Makenzie today and she was very good. Each twin is better behaved without the other, I'm finding out. My BIL sent me John Grisham's book Skipping Christmas and I'm plowing right through it! Very interesting. I don't know how I missed that one, since I've read all of his other stuff.
Hey gals -
I'm waiting for Leigh to finish up her yogurt, then it's off for a walk.
Jana - thanks for posting the cacciatore recipe - looks yummy and I think it looks even easier then the crock pot one I have. Glad you had a good time at your reunion. Reminds me of some of the big reunions my family used to hold at the coast. We'd commandeer an good part of a campground back then.
All you Oregonian gals - did you all catch the thunderstorm yesterday? Probably wasn't as far south as Cottage grove, but up here we were dumped on. I love it - means I don't have to water my plants or the grass, lol
My son was kind of freaked. He's a little high strung on a good day, so a storm like that makes him really nervous. But it didn't last that long and he calmed down, thank good ness
So - off i go
Hi to everyone and here's to a good OP day for everyone
Cheers
RosieKate
Got up early this morning, took my final in Word, just checked my e-mail and already received my grade on it! A!!!! (miss one little thing!) So I'm pleased with that! I think I did pretty good on the math test yesterday and tomorrow.....the dreaded Accounting final! Then it's over!!
Sue--Hi there! I sure do enjoy my time with James. We have been together for almost 6yrs. and we actually still like each other! I'll be thinking of you on Thursday...hoping everything turns out ok.
Angie--10 pairs of Capri's?! Wow!! Send some over! I have yet to get any.....if I ever do! Went to the mall with James today and saw some, but just wasn't in the mood to try things on. I have to be in the right mood to see myself try to stuff my rolls in clothes!
Jana--I've heard that John Grisham has some good books. I haven't read any of his yet. But I was intrigued by the title. If I like the title to a book, I usually try to read it.
RosieKate--We had a DOWNPOUR yesterday! And TODAY!! What happened to that beautiful sun that I was loving just last week???????
Oh! just had an interruption at the front door!! A vacuum salesman. Kirby vacuum!! I had forgotten that they still go door to door! The man(kid) was nervous, I was his first person he had to go to so I told him to relax and to explain it all to me what he wanted to do then I had to open up my door a little and show him that I had WOOD FLOORS! (yeah, I let him spill it all out before I showed him that!)
Of coarse Cocoa was barking like crazy and James is in bed trying to nap since he's on the graveyard shift!
Ok ladies, I have to report to the challenge thread and respond to some PM's I received today! (wow......how fun is that to get a PM?)
Hiya! Just wanted to check in while I had a minute and see how things are going. Actually, it is too hot outside to do too much of anything that I need to do, so I'd rather sit her in the a/c.
The last couple days have been really good for me, so I'm feeling all pepped up. I found some wonderful fruit bars. They are Edy's brand frozen real fruit bars. I had a strawberry one, actually had real strawberries in it. And only 120 cals. I also tried some that are no added sugar for only 30 cals, but they don't have the chunks of fruit, but they are still good.
Marti - Congrats on your classes. What are you going to school for? You sure had alot of patience with that salesman. I bet he was glad for the experience anyway.
Rosiekate - I would love to have a good storm. I really like to sit out on the porch and watch them roll in. I actually get really excited when there are alot of warnings, even tornado. I would love to see a tornado, but I surely don't want to be in one!
Jana - I haven't tried any of John Grishams books yet? Which one would be the best to start with?
Angie - I had forgotten all about my capris that I can't fit into right now. I've got some really cute ones too. Man, now I really need to get motivated. 10 lbs and it should be all good.
Shanna - my life isn't all exciting. I generally work, eat, sleep, clean, and do yardwork. I actually get excited about going to the grocery store. It's like a game, how much food can I buy for the fewest calories?
Sue - good luck with your ultrasound on Thursday. If you have pretty classic gall bladder symptoms, but you US doesn't show anything, ask your doc about a HIDA scan (pronounced HIGH-duh). It actually tests the squeeze ability of it. They do use a little radioisotope and may induce an attack if it is having problems. I had my gb out 3 yrs ago. My US was ok, but my HIDA scan showed slowed functioning. I actually had fat that was tying it down to my chest wall so it couldn't function. No stones or infection. Strange.
Well, I guess it's time to do something around here!
RosieKate - we had storms here last week and boy am I glad to see the sunshine. The cacciatore recipe really is a cinch - just one skillet and viola! It's done!
Marti - YAY for your A in Word! and good luck on the Accounting final today.
Jen - thanks for the tip about the fruit bars. I'm always looking for something new to keep it interesting, lol. For you and Marti both, I'd recommend John Grisham's The Client. It's a story based on two poor little boys and a female lawyer who helps them. Very touching in parts. All in all, a very good read.
Gotta tackle Mt Washmore today. Also, I'm watching my friend's tiny granddaughter while her DD is having surgery. The DD went in for her 6 week check up postpartum, and they found some cancer on her cervix, so they're doing the surgery today. Also, Mary started her new job today and since Dale is newly post-op, we may be helping him with the kids. Thank goodness Neal and Katie are home!
Shanna -- of COURSE we miss you when you aren't here! It always makes me smile to see your little hamster picture on the board About the job, hon...well, I gotta agree with Marti and Jana...if it pays the bills, it sure beats not having any $ to pay the bills. I'm certainly not in my dream job, it's pretty high stress and there's a high burnout rate for folks in my field, but since I have to spend 1/3 of my day 5 days a week there, I just try to focus on the stuff about it that I do like: the pay is decent, most of my co-workers are great, my direct supervisor is wonderful....umm....the grounds where I work are beautiful, like a park, so it's nice to walk around there...and even though I deal with a lot of flakes and people that aren't too smart and have lots of excuses, I also deal with some customers who are very nice and pleasant, and with some customers who really need my help and are very appreciative. Those are the ones who make my day -- I like helping people So hang in there, and hopefully you'll be back in school soon! If you'd like more snail mail PM me your home address sometime and I'll send stuff.
Angie -- your new outfits sound cute! They finally switched to summer dress code at my work, which means jeans are ok everyday not just Fridays, and women can wear capris. Some of they guys grumbled about that because they can't wear shorts - the call center director said women can't wear shorts either, but if guys really want to wear capris they are welcome to! I just really can't bring myself to buy any clothes at this size. *sigh* And I hate the way my legs look in shorts anyway. Maybe capris would be ok...I should go at least try some on...I can't believe a FLORIDA team won the Stanley Cup! There's no ICE in Florida! Ah well, all the players are from Canada and Russia anyway, aren't they? A Russian friend at work told me Tampa Bay won, and proudly pointed out that the goalie is Russian. Jana's suggestion about the cookies is very good The realtor who helped my sister sell had suggested that. If you want the smell of baking bread, you can always buy frozen bread dough, and bake that.
Marti -- congrats on your A in Word, and you're almost there! Good luck on that accounting final Finals are really stressful, glad it's almost over for you. And glad you are getting some time to spend with your sweetie
Suetalks -- holding good thoughts for you about your US. I've heard gallbladder problems are just miserable. Glad you are feeling better. What part of the country do you live in? It's usually close to 100 here (Northern CA) by Memorial Day weekend, but we've had a break this year. A few days got up to the high 90's but it's been in the 80's for a little while. The longer the mild weather lasts, the better. I hate it when it's over 90.
Jana -- Family reunions are so much fun! My family is really scattered. I guess when my sister and I went to help Mom with her paperwork, that was kind of a mini reunion You said the men played "washerboards"? What is that? Sounds like you have your hands full watching little ones, good thing you have helpers!
Rosiekate -- send some of that rain down here...my grass really needs it, and the sprinkler never gets moved around evenly enough. My roses look thirsty, too...
Jen -- frozen fruit bars really help curb my sweet tooth. I found some cherry ones at Trader Joe's -- haven't tried them yet, but I love cherry I will look for the Edy's brand...
Hi to everyone else!
It's that time, gotta run...Mike graduates tonight
Shanna - Sorry the job stinks - I've certainly had my share of those. Now I'm a SAHM and if I want my working conditions to improve - I have to do it myself Kidding aside, I do feel fortunate that we've been able to pull it off for as long as we have. Eight years ago, I thought i'd be bored out of my mind, but it's been anything but boring. Howver, there are days, let me tell you. Yesterday DS had a playdate w/ a kid who whined constantly about wanting to play on the computer. I made the boys go outside as it was sunny for a brief period - well whine whine whine - my kid was even telling him to shut up. Then my 2 y/o fell and got a big owie on her eye and now she looks like Robert DeNiro in Raging Bull. I managed to escape in the evening to get my hair cut and boy, it felt good just to hand over everybody to DH!
Marti - congrats on the A - well done, my friend!
Angie - Capris are cute, I bought a pair from Landsend for Easter and they are so comfortable.
Jana - definitely going to try that cacciatore recipe. If we meet in Oregon, we could meet up at the coast so all you midwest folks can see the Pacific. I'll be ready for a getaway in the fall. I'll be taking two classes and on the board of DD's co-op preschool - in addition to the usual hubbub.
Jen- The talk about fruit bars reminded me of a treat I used to like. I think Haagen daaz puts out a fruit bar, raspberry sherbet with a vanilla center. It was only 90 calories and very yummy. I can't keep that stuff around the house 'cause I can't stop at one!
Sue - good luck on the ultrasound - hope the news is good.
Katiecat - have fun at the graduation!
Well, today is James's last day of school - so he's done with 1st grade! It's been a good year, he's really liked his teacher. I hear great stuff about the 2nd grade team, so we are all excited about him moving on up. We'll have to celebrate tonight -
It's all over and I'm relieved!! I don't have any idea how I did on the accounting final. There were things that I knew and things I was confused but in the end I finished it....but I didn't balance. And I didn't want to sit forever trying to figure out why....so I left it. (terrible isn't it?)
Then I went to sell my books back (I don't want them anymore) and you know, I was only able to sell 2 back!! Out of 7!! Oh well...I'll keep them for later if I need to refresh my memory.
Jen--I love frozen fruit bars! The strawberry is one of my favorites. Great to have in the summer and you want something sweet but not fattening! Plus it helps cool you down.
Jana--You have your hands full don't ya? I'd offer my help but I think I'm too far away! Hope you get your Mt. Washmore tackled and then try and find some relaxing time.
Katie--Congratulations to Mike!!! How are you going to celebrate? I have some friends who want to take James and I out to dinner. As a late wedding gift/last day of school celebration. Nothing like having dinner paid for!!
RosieKate--Tomorrow is Jhanai's last day of school. Fifth grade next year!! I was trying to remember when I was in the fifth grade,,,,seems SOOOOO long ago! But she's pretty excited. I can't remember what her reasonings were, but 5th grade has something to look forward too.
Hello to the rest of you gals!
I'm not sure what all I plan on doing today. I would like to go get my hair cut sometime this week. I think I will use my book money to go get it cut! (pretty nice to get $80 back for 2 books!) Other than that, I need to job hunt. See what's out there for me. I haven't heard a thing with the other places so it's time to get moving and start hunting.
I figured I would stop in here and post instead of going to the kitchen and finding something to snack on. The thing I want though is popcorn, but I can't make that right now since James is napping. He's on the graveyard shift for a week or so....(maybe all three weeks before conductor school)
So, no making loud obnoxious noises! Not until I know it's close to him needing to get up that is!
Here is a question I want to ask. Has any of you lost a lot of weight then gain some back and then have no one realize that you gained back weight? (does that make sense?) the reason I'm asking is because I was over at a friends house and I was commenting on how NON-active I have become since Sony closed and she said that I still look great. Then I told her I had gained 15lbs. back since Sony. She said that she couldn't really tell. So I've wondered.....did anyone really notice the weight LOSS I had before? I must camoflauge well. But my thighs and tummy have seen the worst of my lack of movement...(which is why I'm determined to squat like crazy when I exercise) This morning I noticed that my thighs are looking the worse than they have ever looked!! It's like someone slapped some melting fat on them!! I'm losing any tone I may have had!! I have lumps that I never used to have and it's just very discouraging!
I have my times of motivation, but it doesn't seem to last long for me anymore and I'm wondering why? I need to figure out what is holding me back!! I have been trying to walk and do other exercises since that is my challenge that I have set for myself...but I don't think I'm working hard enough on it. What's it going to take? Ok, I know those are really questions that only I can answer but I had to get it out. I feel better.
Ok....enough of my whining about the way my body looks. I better go do something about it! Like some squats!!!!!!
