Aw shucks, guys!!! THANK YOU! Thank you! :encore: :encore: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3:
How are all the drinks going? Anyone need a refill yet? I have just had a late breakfast..strawberries and vanilla yoghurt. :T Shad I am so sorry I missed your phone call...I have had quite a few this morning, although they have been (ha ha ha ha I have just then had another one right in the middle of the sentance!) short they have been many!! Happy!! Oh Happy! What an awesome firework display! I've never had fireworks on my birthday before! How beautiful! And I LOVE that song..it always makes me all misty eyed!! What a great link! Where did you find it, by the way? I love it to bits!!! Two of my envelopes included very large checks ooops I mean cheques!! which will be brilliant for both holidays. It will be lovely to go away and not have to worry about not spending too much money.....I am going to LIVE IT UP!!!:queen: Right I had better get in that shower as I am meeting a friend for a very light lunch as I am out to dinner tonight!! I'll be back later!! Thanks again for my world-wide cyber party! I love all of you!! |
It's a Happy Birthday Day on the Journals for Teel too!!! ROFL I am having a Frappuccino instead of the lemonade. An office girl gave me one and I raise my coffe to you Teel!!!! May your Birthday year be a great one!!!
Happy~ I clicked and dragged the mouse and got a fireworks rainbow!!!! I love it!!! It was one of those things that makes people say...HOW THE **** DID SHE DO THAT!!!! Nice display!! Shad~ Hope the day was a good one! I kept trying to put a banner up on the journal but everyone I found was too big to upload. I forgot about that part. Today is Jennifer's BD in the journals. Ok girls gotta change sheets again. Very sweaty at night for some reason! Menopause does not seem to want to leave me. Off I go like a good girl to get to the laundry room and then outside before it gets too hot for me!!! :flame: |
Wow
Happy Birthday to the June BABies,
That link Happy was so cool I really enjoyed it and will visit it a couple times before the month is over. Thanks for the kind thoughts and the fireworks the colors are great!!! Hope everyone has a safe trip and enjoys their birthdays! It is beautiful here this morning watching the deer graze and the sun comes over the mountains. I have a staff meeting today that I am sort of dreading so if you can think a good thought for me today that would be appreciated. I was afraid it might give me a bad nights sleep last night but oh no I had a good oneso that makes me more prepared for the day! I was standing at the bank yesterday and an old friend on my ex's came over to talk to me and I found out the lastest on his declining lifestyle. SOme people just never get it..... the lessons laid before them are so obvious to those around them but not to them. My feelings are mainly sadness for my boys because they just don't have a good example in their father or any support from him on any level. I went to a dinner party on Monday and was able to see some old friends who have moved away from here. I miss them so much. Have any of you ever had meals made in a dutch oven? We had a dessert that was prepared in the dutch oven very good. Tomorrow will be hiking with my ladies group so we can visit with our friend one more time before she leaves. I also connected with another friend on sunday that was good for me. It is so hard to sometimes keep friendships going give them the energy they deserve. WE become so set in our daily routines we forget what great people we are denying ourselves. Linus, so good to hear from you. The gals had great advice for you. Please be careful whatever you do we need you here to share your thoughts and life with us. Well, off to get ready for work.... hope it goes better than my gut is telling me it will this morning..... Best Wishes to My Gal Pals around the World, Nae |
Good morning chickies -
Salute to Teel. Happy Birthday again to you as I raise my coffee cup over to the eastward way :coffee: Yes, I think I'll take a bit of a warm up :cofdate: if you're pouring. Just don't spill the pot as you race for the phone! I'm glad you liked the link - was something I whipped up last night but of course it always takes longer than you think which is why I was a little late last night. Shad, the fireworks are a Java applet. If you're PC doesn't support Java or the firewall is blocking it, you won't see the fireworks which is a shame because they are quite pretty. :( Lots to do at work today so I must run for now. Nae, will send some good vibes your way for your staff meeting. Take care ladies... |
HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY TEEL AND MAY IT BE A GOOD ONE AND LONG REMEMBERED CHEERS :cheer: :gift: :dancer: :hat: :hat: :hat:
HAPPY i should have just asked you instead of some supposed "trained" councellor have taken off the patch and am coping with the minimum of cigs {8 today) and feel fine not cranky but unfortunatly there may be a prob with my meds which is making me jumpy and not the withdrawels seemingly ive been on my tramadol for way too long so that might be the cause SHAD nope no milestone for me just plain old 21{33}my only solace is that dh will always be 2 years older than me my darling family are being really tight lipped about my pressies and dh keeps telling everyone ill be 40 thats not going down very well we are going to the pub with family and our freinds on the 19 th which will be the inlaws 35th anniversary so will be very merry i suppose hubby hopes now ive lost all this weight that i wont be able to drink everyone under the table and it wont cost him so much   or that at least ill get a hangover as ive never had one in my life goint to conners sports afternoon tomorrow and then going shopping with craig he wants to buy himself a bottle of aftershave :yikes: it only seems like last month he was buying toy soldiers i ont like my kids growing up i suppose i should be comforted with the fact that both have declared that they are never leaving home and hubby said hes not leaving either :yikes:     well ladies im off to take the hound from **** out for her walk and to try and persuade benjy that he has to get out of craigs bed and come too speak later kirsty |

Linus
You crack me up woman...... the poor toes and all.... how did that happen? When is the day of your birthday linus, is it the 19th? What a month of celebrations we are having around here!
I am sorry about the kids growing up.... it happens so fast and is just too much. I think some of us are just born to be mother types and we are wired for everything motherly..... I was so shocked when my oldest turned 10 I found him crying in his room and I asked of course...his reply was that he knew how difficult it was for me to see him enter the double digit age and he was sad for me..... oh geez a bit of a wake up call for me.... I sort of changed my expression of his growth process after that....the little knippers are so aware. My youngest Jesse and his girlfriend Morgann are coming tomorrow and I am so excited about it.... I told Jesse I had his mommy do list already....he is not thrilled about chores..... but I need some things... I think for all those miles and suffering though hockey games as the goalies mom I deserve a little pay back!!!!!! Thanks Happy for the good thoughts they really helped pull me through that one!!!! It went ok and I am hoping the summer continues in a good vain about working and staying in the lower 48..... Well, ladies it is nice that we are keeping in touch hope everyone is well... and I am having a beer tonight for Teel and her celebration....I have been so good but it feels good to relax tonight... my brother had a hip replacement surgery today and he is fine so that is a relief. Talk to you all soon..... Nae |
How gross that we now have to protect wildlife from the wildlife brats around the place. What was Mother doing? Idiot person. Next thing they will have to put notices up saying that you enter at your own risk - all care but no responsibility TO VISIT A BUTTERFLY HOUSE!!!! What are we coming to!!!!
Well I have been to the gym this morning already.:workout: I have done 17 minutes on rowing machine for 3.3k and 183 calories and 25 minutes on the Treadie :tread: Mr Moko wasn't there this morning. He is probably still celebrating Teels birthday and waiting to get to Linus'. Could be interesting when he gets to 'Naes and my sisters which are on the same day. I figure he will have a bit of a problem. Two hands but only one mouth. :hat:  I've been having a long chat with Jason the trainer who is a very versatile young man. He is a body trainer, he also trains people on mobile phones, he teaches body combat and is now about to set up classes for salsa and disco. Anyway we got around to talking about exercise for the older age person and the aged and that took me a wee while. He is going to go over my program for me and set me back on the straight and narrow with weights and things and reckons he can help to get some of this weight off. Yes well okay Jason I'm game, I'm sick of carrying it around. Nae, I am sending early morning thoughts your way for the work meetings today. Don't forget to come back and tell us what happened. Miss Happy. Did I notice that you have set up a Happy2bme website??? I think I have not go Java on here. Maybe I should go download it so I too can see rainbow colours. I know it is on the other machine. Just this one came with only the basics and we have to put things on it as necessary. Hope Mel has come in from the sun. It's not a good idea to sit out there for too long my friend. Do the laundry instead. I'd best take some of my own advice and do things like that too. I did get about 2sqm of grouting done yesterday - lousy job, even worse than cutting. I need to go back and sponge down the tiles to get rid of the last of the grout. Then I best go and do another wall of the stuff. It is getting finished but slowly. But first, a shower, a shampoo, a wander around the garden and the laundry. The sun comes into the bathroom in the afternoon so it's nicer to work in there then. Warmer too. Okay, have a wonderful day. Teel, I will try to ring you again before you go on holiday, but don't sit on the phone waiting. |
I am losing my mind. I thought today was Thursday and posted a birthday to Linus. I just deleted it and will repost it on the right day. Friday! maybe today is not my day. I got Jennifer's BD wrong too then! OMG!!! Today was good till a male tenant went after the painter and then me. Verbal abuse is never sweet. I gave back far worse than I got but the whole thing made me ill. I'm making out a report to cover my butt. This is not the first time he has done this. He's not senile but a bully. Well I may have been shaking on the inside but he never knew it. I hate bullies. The painter didn't see him coming so I yelled out his name so he would turn and see. Well. that angewred this tenant and he went on a tirade! all this was over a chain that we use as a gate wasn't put up yet. Now the painter feels awful cause he hates bullies and men who disrespect women. I had a laugh too cause of all the language the 3 of us were using.
I told the painter we can't complain cause ours wasn't any cleaner!! but this guy came looking for me later on in the maint. room and tried yelling again and to tell me I was nothing. I told him he was the sh*t on the bottom of my shoes and that he may talk to the women in his family like this but he wasn't getting away with it to me. He left and we'll see what he does about it all. Why Im want to know is 2004 becoming a year where I must defend myself? Am I missing a lesson here? I wouldn't care but it's becoming so repetitive over the months!!! God, cut me some slack here. I'll get the point!! or maybe I am missing the point? The good news is that I heard from the chair people and a new "works" is being delivered as soon as the order goes through. Just paperwork. Redtape. Carlos is holding on to the old parts till we get the new ones. I was afraid they would just send them right back without our knowing! I am tired and need a shower. Maybe a lemonade to keep celebrating Teel's birthday!!! I'll read the posts after the shower! This day left a bad taste in my mouth and it had nothing to do with dinner! Have a great Thursday!!! |
Poor Mel, looking out for the painter when you knew what was about to break loose. As for the crazy tenant  well some people are just like that. Born that way I guess. Generally I tend to say something like how sorry I am for that person since all that built in hate gives a body a very bad headache and makes their face ugly. Then I get grumpy and yell back. You are so right not to let him bully you - although you shouldn't have to put up with it at all. Get hold of your friend the mayor and get him to pass a law against it!!!
'Nae, glad it didn't go so bad. And good on you for having a 'to do' list for the son. As you said, sometimes they only come home or get in touch because they want something but having a list of things for them to do somewhat compensates for the giving we are still doing. I keep finding things for Simon to take away to his new house, but he keeps telling me that Wendy (his tenant) has a houselot of stuff already. I am determined to get shot of this stuff so he will have them like it or not. Anyway, now I have finished this post, I am off to do some work. See you |
Shad~ when did simon buy a house!!??? Did I miss something?..... maybe my mind really is going! LOL An office girl was talking about tiles in her foyer that just got put down. I had a giggle at her saying it was something she would NEVER think of doing or her husband for that matter either! LOLOL All I could "see' was you covered in grout, dust and silicone to say nothing of paint!!! Rennovation...not for the faint:faint: at heart!
I got out of the shower, logged on, got started and now the cel phone went off! Sal (painter) was worried so his wife called to see if the tenant came to my door. I said, have no fear I won't open it! I am a little shaken I must admit. I haven't see such violence in a man's eyes since I got divorced! so it pushed some of my old buttons a wee bit. A good nights sleep aught to put things right again though. Now where was i? Nae~ Sorry I wasn't here to root you on!!!:( Glad it went ok and all is well. I have a kitchen just inside my apt. So i put post its on the door jamb and whoever comes to visit or Jen sees them and gets down what I need or puts it back up!! it's the "Honey Do" list! Hope you all have a great visit! So nice to drink and watch the deer and the antelope play! I love when you all share wildlife and gardening stories. :D Sorry about the ex. We have the same here. but I am well shot of him so I don't care. he's turned into an alcoholic now to top it off and on his 4th wife! :yikes: Sometimes we are all better off! Linus~ MY God woman!!! Athletes foot!!! WTF!!! Where did this come from the dog???  i don't even want to ask what more could happen to us!!! I'm afraid of the answer! I hope you will be ok and your birthday will go happily as planned!! i will repost my birthday salute on the proper day! I am deranged today and brain dead! That story about the fish tank was outrageous!! What do people think?!?! Where do they get off?? I want to live somewhere where the people live more simply and have respect fopr each other. I yearn for the "olde" days! Linus~ Are you out celebrating?!?! You are curiously absent! Hope the day was a wonderful one. did you stay sdober?!? I had 2 drinks for you and know I won't make it to the 41st hour! Sweet Dreams Birthday Girl! Miss Happy~ did I tell you the watercolor answer? Hope not cause here it comes again. I used to dabble in oils and paints but never got the hang of it. I saw a show on PBS TV with an Irish guy and I hope to find it again. so I had the gift cert and used it for the paints in hopes of trying this hobby again! my family is artistically inclined in all kinds of stuff but I did crochet and crafts. So when I have nothing better to do I will give it my best shot!! A self portrait perhaps?! Need to shop for a woman tomorrow that is 92 I think. She is heavily congested and on a lot of meds. Sent a note to me to ask for a favor. I got the list and the $$ before so I best get ready for bed soon. Take care and have a great day tomorrow and good morning sunshine! I see you're already rised and shined! No moss growing on you!!! |
Simon bought a house about 3 weeks ago and has been busy or should I say keeping mum busy checking on building inspectors, pest inspectors (I'm good at that, I'm a serial pest) and bank loan officers - he will take ownership on about 1st July.
Covered in dust, grout and silicone - yikes when I am finished some days I look like I have plaster casts on both hands. It's not a fashionable look I can tell you. :yikes:  :stress: :faint: Okay, this time I am off. Simon just rang with another job for the mother. Kids - you just gotta love them |
Good morning to serial pest and everyone else!! :coffee:
I had a wonderful time yesterday, some lovely cards and presents and a pretty bunch of flowers from my friends in Derby. I was very confused about the flowers...I eventually managed to extract the greeting card from under the address label and it said" Dear Joan, hope you are feeling better love from Jenny!!! I thought oh :?: :o are these for me or is it the wrong card or what? :dizzy: So I rang Marks & Spencer who said the card should have said "happy 40th birthday love from Alan Anne Ruth & Luke"!!!So I guess Joan has got mine! Honestly!! Then a friend arrived with three sunflowers in a vase and then I went to the Spanish Dinner evening at Lynford House Hotel which was about 35 minutes drive away. A beautiful place with huge grounds which we didn't have time to peruse. However we did see a deer wandering through as the light fell. T. could see the lake and ducks...I couldn't. I think it was the red wine we were drinking!! The menu was interesting and you got some of everything :hun:Asparagas mousse and stuffed flat mushroom..(didn't like the mousse, mushroom ok!) then mussel soup..(wouldn't have it again only if there was no food left on the earth), cod with chorizo & green peppers, "Alubias Con Gallina", that Kidney Beans with Chicken..lovely :T:T , Ragu de Cordero...lamb ragu, Patatas Bravas...spiced potatoes, Esinacas Con Pasas...Spinach with raisons... :p :p yuk yuk yuk! Rice with red peppers...lovely! and Seville Salad which I didn't try! THEN! Mantecados de Soria Amb Fresas de Aranjuez...if you can't guess this is Butter Cakes, Soria style with Strawberries of Aranjuez! and TURRON de JIJONA which is a soft nutty nougat...and coffee and mints to fill any lurking hole possibly left! All the time a cd was playing of a Spanish/Classical guitarist. The service was great and the restuarant nice and roomy but quite hot...all that Chorizo I 'spect!! A funny mixture and not a Paella ..how d'you spell that? ..in sight! Today I come back to earth at breakneck speed with my long awaited for appointment with Dr. Munglani, the pain consultant. Shad it is a shame you can't see the fireworks...its a great show! I am looking forward to seeing photos of that finished bathroom soon! Linus!! I can see it now.."BEWARE! YOU ARE NOW ENTERING THE BUTTERFLY FARM! THEY MIGHT LAND ON YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN BUT THEY WILL NOT HARM YOU!!"Honestly, some people. We seem to live in a stupid culture of sue everyone over every little thing. It rather puts me off helping anyone who falls ill in the street...suppose I gave them a bruise whilst thumping their heart and bringing them back to life? I'd never be able to forgive myself!!  Ah now, what else? :chin: 2 weeks to go and I will be in Salzburg...sorry to rub it in... :D :D The travel agent rang yesterday and said I can take my wheelchair for free and the baggage allowance is 15kg for main and 5kg for hand luggage so Teresa is a bit relieved! Her main weight is shoes...she needs a few pairs to be comfortable. If she has sore feet she is miserable. Can't have that on holiday! Can we start practising Linus's birthday salute yet? :cheer: :cheer:   Or are we still on strong coffee after 41 hrs of drinking over mine? :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: |
Time to start celebrating Linus' birthday in about 3.25hours from now. I'm sorry Linus I will not be staying up for midnight. I have a glass of wine here now. So :hb: old girl at 33 going on 21. Best wishes for a wonderous and happy birthday.  :cheer: :cheer: :gift: :gift: :hat: :hat:
Not feeling too good today. Have managed the laundry, changed the bed, and done some errands for DS2 - didn't get to the tiling, so that will be tomorrows job after more errands for DS2 and his friend Kellie who has given me a list of things for her bathroom quote. I think I might go to bed early and see if I can feel better in the morning. Good night all. |
Okay, so today is Linus' birthday. We will just have to confuse Mel a bit more. Nearly 8.00am on Friday the 18th and Linus is now 21 for the 12th time!

Happy Birthday Linus! May you always look 21, have the wisdom of someone in their 40's and the confidence of one who is comfortable with who they are and too bad if others are intimidated.
:hat: :hat: :hat: :hat: :hat: :hb: :hb: :hb: :hb: :hb: :hb: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Not sure if it's me or this site but it's been slow to respond all day and sometimes I can't even get the page to load properly. I will try again tomorrow. Just wanted to raise my glass to Linus - here's to a healthy, happy year for you and another year of your company with us  |
Just had my lemonade toast to Linus!!! Happy Birthday!!!!
Did a wee bit of shopping. The little old lady forgot a few things so I got hers too. I needed turkey breast and some baby pita breads. I wanted it for the weekend and forgot all about it yesterday. The heat/humidity is a killer today with little "air' moving about. Ya know that steamy kind?! :faint: The A/C is still broken on the bus so riding around a city is NOT a good thing no matter what Martha Stewart may think! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and stay cool. I'm going down to do a washload of towels!! Have a great Friday! |
No problem with staying cool here Mel. The temperature plummeted yesterday and we didn't get above 20 all day and the wind blew everything to bits as well. Even this kiwi chick felt cold last night.
Linus I hope you had a good time yesterday and that you are still celebrating to the best of your ability! Teel are you still celebrating or are you trying to work out what to take for your holiday which if I remember rightly is starting in the early hours of Friday - so maybe you are already in Salzburg??? I'll have to go through the posts again and see if I am right. Pilates today at the gym. Nice gentle workout to end the workout week. But there will be something to ache at the end of it I can guarantee it. May even go in a bit early and do some treadmill before the class. Simon's house is getting closer, the pest inspection has been done, the loan is proceeding quickly, the title searches are started, insurance has been arranged. All we have to wait for now is July 1. The house is actually empty now - the previous owners having moved out a week or two ago. It's a shame he can't get access to do things like floors and curtains etc., however that is the way it goes. Okay, time I went and checked the journals and then got myself ready for the gym. Back later with the days doings. Oh happy, forgot to mention. I've had the odd problem with the site loading as well, so I don't think it is you. It seems to take forever to post my wit and wisdom and the more smilies the slower it is. |
Ack, I keep being taken to the men's forum here. What's with that? Perhaps the site needs a boost of estrogen or something. I have some extra thyroid pills I can spare.
Ok Linus, spill the beans - did you get all rowdy on your birthday and dance around with your skivvies on your head? Teel, if this is the weekend for your Salsburg trip, have a lovely one - enjoy some food, scenery and people watching for me too. Shad, you had quite the lovely post in your journal about your gym activities. I found it to be very motivational and I already started a few baby steps yesterday to join you on the path. It's a good thing Simon is staying with you - he can then take his time to get things painted and fixed before bringing furniture and rugs in. However, is he done helping you with your place first? Priorities Mister  Mel, I hope you are having fun and dabbling in your paints this weekend. And Nae, I thought you had family visiting too? Forgive me for not going back on the posts, I'm almost afraid to navigate here.... I will be off to mum's tomorrow to help her with her computer. Might even spend the night and DH will then pick me up on Sunday after he hits the butterfly garden. He is trying a new photographic technique - extreme closeups - something about putting the film camera lens on the digital backwards so that everything is magnified. He found the technique on a website and showed me an example of a bug's eyes. I said ICK EEEEEEEEE um, why not show me a flower stamen or something instead and I ran out of the room. Not even sure I want to see a butterfly's eyes close up although I must say that it is quite amazing how their bodies take on similar colors and markings like their wings - not just black lines like you think. Busy weekend ahead. Will check back probably late on Sunday. Enjoy your time kids. |
Fun but not in the SUN!!!
I must have just pushed the erase button!
Happy~ Bug's eyes! EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW I saw a commercial for an up coming program for the bugs that we host on OUR bodies! Double EEEEEEEEWWWWWW!! For sure I will NOT be watching that one!!! Hope you and the DH have a great weekend! Say hello to Mom!? I may try and paint tomorrow. I always feel more serene on sundays. I think it comes from when I used to go to church. With a disfunctional family, church was the ONLY place of peace and solace. I digress here! Anyway.....have fun! Shad~20!!!! OMG I would be freezing again! Remind me not to complain about the heat!!! This Summer is already going way too fast for me! Get thee to the supermarket!!! Unless you already did it! I really think your journal post SHOULD be required reading for newbies and people who have lost their way in the exercise field. See? you should be writing manuals with Madcat!!! Teel leaves in 2 weeks she said! Hope Teel and Linus have survived their BD's and are resting up for Nae's!!! I am too tired to go into the heat today. Spent 5 days outside on and off. So today the house will get cleaned instead. Everytime I try to start, the radio goes off with an alarm. 3 false ones so we're still in good shape! Where the heck did all the people go?????? I took a shower and used a nice ginger smelling soap and washed all the nasty places!! I even used deodorant!!! My hair smells likre a baby's too. So I don't think it's me. :?: Happy Saturday and have a great weekend.:D |

I had to wipe my eyes so I could type! What a lovely birethday you had. I am so happy to have shared it with you. This week has been wonderful with all the BDs here and on the journal. I love it! You got some great presents and it must be nice to have so much family! Hope the sciatica gets better soon. I had a twinge and went right to the anti-inflams but I don't have to walk so it's not as bad as it used to be. Gotta love the sons globe! I hope you can find New Jersey!?
Have a great day and take care. |
Morena to all - :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: anyone. Just made a brew.
Hey Mel, I found New Jersey. I went to the 'net and typed in the name of your town and voila, up popped information and maps. Couldn't find your street though. Hey Linus - the land mass of Australia is actually bigger than the land mass of the USA but not as big as USA/Canada combined. And if you need the magnifier to find Britain, NZ may well not appear at all. But what a wonderful thought (not that NZ does not appear, the globe thingy) and what a great family. Looking forward to the results of the spending spree with the gift vouchers and the loot. I'm sorry to hear that the sciatica has again reared it's ugly head. If Miss Teel is not in Salzburg, then where is she? Still at her birthday dinner?? Gone to Tuscany with friend??? Rolling in the grass with Holly??? Mel, when I said the temp was 20, I meant 20C (about 70F) It is difficult thinking in two languages you know. It's not so much the temps that are cool. It's the freezing wind coming in from the west. We don't normally get these winds until late July/August but they have been with us for a week or more now. Last night they died down and I thought that we were in for a cold night and more moderate morning but however, today they are back. By the way, I like your garden Mel. Bugs eyes???? - Happy - well thats better than the back ends of bugs or whatever. Bugs eyes are incredibly intricate and amazing. I don't mind the surrealistic eyes - however I wish flies didn't have them - it seems that they have radar and know exactly where you are and why you are trying to catch them (death to flies) - they can see in so many directions. Think I will stick to my landscapes and waterscapes and leave the bugs to DH. Went to Body Balance class yesterday, new steps coming out that had me twisted up in knots and stretching places and things that haven't been stretched in a while. I enjoy that class - apart from the balancing bit. My balance bit seems to have got up and went. I can do anything as long as there are at least two extremeties and/or the butt on the ground but less than two and I wobble, teeter and generally only just manage to stop myself from stretching full length on the floor. Might mention it to the Dr next time I pluck up courage to go there. :workout: DS has had his wallet and phone nicked out of his truck at work. There wasn't much money in it, but it is the pain and inconvenience of cancelling his credit card, drivers licence, phone SIM etc. etc. He reported the credit card immediately and the swines (but not very bright swines) had already tried and failed to get $500 out of the ATM - lets hope that the machine was bright enough to swallow the card as well. Fortunately, his everyday cards are here with me. I had them to go pay for the title searches for his house on Friday. The drivers licence is a bit of a worry ( it has also been reported stolen as has the phone) as they have the name, address etc of the owner. Maybe it is time to have these things encrypted so in cases like these, we do not have to worry about burglary of the home as well. According to our State Premier, we are the Smart State :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  :lol3:  Where do the politicians get these gems from? so we should come up with something to satisfy the police and powersthatbe and frustrate the slimey crims!!! Oh well, enough blathering on. I must go get dressed and attack the day. I went to do the last of the grouting yesterday, but by the time I had cleaned the joints, swept the floor again and tidied up the junk that seems to accumulate in the bathroom, the day was just about done and the footy about to start. End of that task. Have a good day all. :gossip: :grouphug: |
On such a beautiful day I feel awful!! I had a bad tummy ache ane realized I needed Milk of magnesia! But I had to take Dulcolax instead. Serious plumbing job needed over here! so I will spend the day in the loo! I am in between trips and will give the journals a miss today! Not in the mood for making small talk!
Shad~ Glad you found the town. Usually people ask me Where the **** it is??? Sorry about DS's wallet etc. WTF is wrong with people today. Hope everything gets sorted out. I'm sure it's MOM to the rescue again! It's a scary thought what they will do without us some day huh??? Hope the weekend was a good one and sweet dreams!!! Is the killer step for tomorrow? OOPs gotta run now. <---is that a play on words?! |
Aaaaaaaargh!!!
FIRSTLY I MUST SAY...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LINUSHAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LINUS!HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LINUS!
I am so so so sorry I am late!:gift: :hat: :hb:  Am I too late for a wee dram?? On Friday we kept having power cuts all day...on, off, on off, on, off, on! I wondered why as we were not having a bad storm...or even a little shower come to that, so it was not until I went out in the afternoon that I saw an electricity van up the road with maintenance men digging up a cable and making a large hole in the road that I assumed it might be their fault.:devil:And then yesterday I said I would play at a gig for a couple's silver wedding anniversary party...a very grand event with "formal dress" on the ticket and £30 a ticket for the charity of their choice. There were 70 seated for dinner! It was held at the Animal Health Trust near Newmarket where Mr. silver wedding is a research scientist. We played 9 years ago at his 50th birthday party at a local golf club. Not such a grand affair as this! We, the folk band I used to front and have since left, were supposed to play from 18:00hrs till 18:50hrs outside in the sunken garden whilst guests arrived, then move indoors to the dining area and play whilst they ate a three course meal..starter, buffet salad and cold meat and salmon, followed by served gateaux and coffee, us to finish at 20:30hrs. Well that was the plan! We actually played until 21:15hrs or so, which was very demanding to say the least! I played on and off throughout which I was very pleased to be able to do, having not done a full gig for 3 years or so. So I got home near on 23:00hrs and bottled out  to Linus at that hour of the night. I had miss-timed my activities throughout the day really! I had a few phone calls in the morning and decided about noon to go into town for a quick shop...turned it into a major shopping expedition! Was driving home thinking it was 16:00hrs and I had time to have a quick sleep, a quick shower and a quick hello to Linus...and to my horror realised that I was being picked up at 17:00hrs to get at the venue for 17:30!!! Aaaaargh!!! :stress: :stress: :stress: And then of course I wasn't picked up till 17:20hrs...AAAAAARGH!Double AAAAAARGH!!!!!!!! So all my good intentions went to waste! There! Now you have it! Linus I hope you had a great day and don't feel a minute older than 23!!! I am off to Salzburg on WEDNESDAY 30th June on the 06:40 flight from Stanstead. We have a 2 hr check-in which means getting there for 04:30...which means leaving my house at apprximately 03:15hrs.:yikes: :yikes: :fr: :fr: :fr:OMG! OMG!! Ah well...I will be up at the same time as Shad! That'll be a first! :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: Bye bye! I promise I will be back soon!! |
hey shad tell your "smart state"that even britian do not have address,s on there drivers licence our licences are just wee credit card thingys just had a thought that maybe we just needed them sooner and thats not such a good thing TEEL thankyou very much for the kind thoughts and enjoy the holiday you leave on mums birthday so ill remember to wish you bon voyage craig said the belgians are thick the dutch are arrogant and forget about the french then i told him you where flying direct and not travelling through like he did back later
kirsty |
Belgians are thick! Dutch are arrogant! and forget the French! Such words of wisdom from a young man. Yep drivers licences are credit cards too complete with gestapo type photo, name, address, dob and whether I wish to be an organ donor or not. I think they forgot about putting telephone, mobile and blood type on it.
Yep Mel it's back to the killer step class today. Yippee, I think. Mel I didn't have to come to the rescue this time. He cancelled licence, credit card, phone from the Milk Depot. The only thing he has yet to do is to report the theft to the police - not in any hope that he will get his stuff back but because of the insurance on the phone. They need a report from the police. Teel, good to hear that you have been out and about and busy creating music wherever you go. You sound like me. I always expect people to pick me up on time - I like punctuality. Jason the trainer told me I am a D type personality - hmm yes well, does that mean dopey??? I rang Chris in Japan yesterday to wish her happy birthday. Then realised her birthday is on the 22nd of June and not the 20th  Maybe I am a 'd' So more drinks tomorrow for her and then on to the 29th for Nae and my sister Glenda. So another 41 hours of birthday bliss coming up. Time to go get ready for the step class. I'll be back later for more mayhem and mischief. Sorry you are not feeling so good Mel. Hope it all comes right soon. Not a good thing this constipation and diaorrhea (sp) |
Good Morning Everyone!
Linus how is the birthday girl holding UP? Sounds like you had a marvelous time with people showing you just how special you are in their lives. Very cool! How is your back? Are you getting any relief? Let us know!
Shad I do hope your job hunting is successful and just the perfect one comes your way.. When I was vacationing down under I left my wallet on a park bench and miracles and all I got it all back intacted the very same day. I sent a letter to the area and thanked the lovely people who turned it in for me. They said at the police station how lucky I had been....I was flying out the next day and needed my ID so I did feel fortunante. SO sorry to hear you were suffering with the situation of having to be close to home again...that is such a drag. Are you feeling better? What did you do this weekend for fun? Teel, your talent gets you to some fun and interesting places..... would love to have been at that party and listened to you play. You must be so excited about your trip. We can't wait to hear all about it! Happy how goes things in your part of the world? What have you been doing this weekend? Hope all is well with everyone! I had a marvelous time with my son Jesse and his girlfriend Morgann. They make a very sweet couple. It is interesting to get to know your kids again in a more adult way and to see the person they are growing into being. I feel so blessed and enjoyed our time together sooooo much! My other son Chad is out on his first fire with the helitac crew and so far is doing fairly well....hope he has a safe and successful summer. Well, ladies I am back to the grind of work and this week should prove to be interesting. There are some new children needing therapy with some very severe problems and that is always a challenge. I am not taking as much time off as I wanted to yet this summer am hoping to be gone later for now. I will be working on my birthday and definitely looking forward to the weekend for a break in my routine. Hope everyone is well and let's keep this site rollin' Love Ya, Nae |
Mel,
I left your name off of the post I just left behind....sorry when I am typing it is like I am talking to everyone and saying your name and not getting it on paper....duhhhhhh! Excuse the fingers and the lack of brain power.
I do hope you are feeling better and getting ready for your week....let us know how you are doing> Love Ya, Nae |
Hello all,
Good reason to keep up with Flylady - I had a very nice weekend visit with Mum, however, that means I am WAY behind in all other things around the house. Desperately trying to catch up. :( This week's adventures include: tomorrow I will be getting yet ANOTHER tooth extracted since this one like the others keeps getting an infection deep in the jaw which will not seem to go away. I am not happy about this because if I smile broadly, you will now be able to see that I am missing some teeth which will make me very self conscious. It will take several months for the extraction to heal such that I can get replacements in - so I'll not be smiling much until Christmas or so. Also with another tooth gone, the others will no doubt shift which will lead to more crookedness and chipping of the front teeth that have become as fragile as bone china it seems. Don't know why as I have always taken my calcium. If that was not enough, we have appts in the afternoon with the eye doctor. He is a specialist in laser surgery which DH is interested in. I am totally terrified of it myself, however my near vision is getting progressively worse and the range of what I CAN'T see either with or without my glasses is getting wider and wider and more of a nuisance. So we are meeting with him to see what our options are. And next week more doctor appts for the annual physicals. This getting old and staying healthy is ALOT of work! Teel, it was great to hear that you had an opportunity to perform again. Sounds like you enjoyed it even if it was tiring. Rose - nice that you enjoyed a weekend with your son. Yes, it is interesting how you have a totally different relationship once the kids are grown. I think as adults we tend to appreciate and feel a bit guilty over what we put our parents through. Plus they get so much SMARTER as we get older - well up to a point and then the parents get stubborn. Sorry to hear about DS Shad - what a pain to have to deal with. I got mugged once at gunpoint in the afternnoon after lunch right in front of my place of work. What a hassle getting everything closed, checked and fixed. Not to mention the tetnas shots I needed. Well, sorry to be short (can't help it since I'm only 5 foot 1 inch   :lol3: ) but I have to run now. Got some grocery shopping to get done and laundry and fun stuff.... Later chickies. |
Morning all,
It's cold down here. We have been having record overnight lows all week and snow is forecast for inland this week. Almost unheard of this far north. Still apart from the fact it keeps the bugs in check, the cool mornings are not conducive to getting out of bed. It is lovely in the middle of the day tho'. Mel, are you still sitting on the loo? Not like you not to post for the day. Roseblush - nice to hear about the family visit. Very wise to treat the kids as adult friends after they get to a certain age. One thing I have found is that they have minds of their own. It doesn't pay to disagree or try to override to much. Happy, so sorry to hear about the teeth again. Sometimes the taking of calcium and a good diet just do not mean good strong teeth. It's genetic unfortunately. Same with eyes probably. DS is getting over the loss of the wallet. I think the thing that has upset him the most is the wallet itself! His late grandmother gave it to him years and years ago. He was saying that it is the last thing she gave him before she forgot his name and who he was! He doesn't know it yet, but I have another one tucked away somewhere. Mum forgot she had given all the grandkids, not to mention the male members of the family, a wallet and bought several more. I have one of them left. So he will be back to Grandma's wallet when he gets organised about replacing it. Mum's influence extends beyond the grave!!!!! Okay, it's cool and I need to get some stuff done before I go to meet my friend for lunch by the river. So I guess I had better get the A into gear and Just Do It. |
Oh how very cool that you happen to have another wallet for your son. My family is not well to do and we don't have much in the way of heirlooms. All I have from my grandmother is a pair of white cotton gloves and some hankies. Not much more from my Dad - just many happy memories so I know exactly how he must feel. I'm sure he will be thrilled to get the new one. Sometimes too, thieves take the cash and pop the wallet in the post and it eventually finds it's way back.
Snow up your way?????? Good heavens, that's almost impossible to fathom. Now I really do believe it is cold up your way. A nice cup of hot tea, a steamy bowl of soup, a bit of buttered toast and a warm, soft afghan will make the night quite cozy. As for getting out of bed in the morning tho... as you say... brrrrrrrrrrrr. Stay warm ole buddy... |
Once the sun comes up and gets into the nooks and crannies, it is nice. Lovely day to sit on the patio and dream away. Feel free to drop in for coffee and soup and rolls on the patio. My family is not that well to do either, however Mum did have some nice china (she had a Wedgewood dinner set that has become mine when I can get over there to pick it up) but she did like to give people things - hence the wallets. It actually has a note in grandmas writing inside. Talk about words from the grave. I just have to find it now. Actually I might just tell himself about it tonight so he won't go buy another one. Anyway, time for a cuppa and by then the washing will be ready for hanging out and I will need to think about getting ready to go out. Time flies when you are having fun!!!
|
I feel much better thanks you everyone!:D I even went to the Mall today. got my hair cut and bought books for Jen's stepkids. I have the A/C off and need to go and put it back on!!! i sit here dripping and typing! :faint: I haven't been making great choices for eating but then the circumstances were bad! Tomorrow I will start again and then weigh in with you Shad at the end of the month. But this week I need to stay off the white flour things and will make that the challenge. No Off Plan Food!!
Happy I am so very sorry to hear about the teeth!! God, when does it all end??!! How goes the outdoor work??? Is the bush attracting any butterflies yet! Shad~ Glad the DS has everything undercontrol! I had a giggle over him doing it though. Jen always starts with a big loud MOM!!!! Nae~ I figured you were talking to me!! We all get that way! Sorry you will be working on your BD while the lot of us will be celebrating and getting blotto! Nice work you do and just think......how many lives you must have touched!!! Even mine! :D Glad Linus and Teel had such good birthdays and are we done celebrating till Nae's???? Well kids I am bushed and in need of a shower. Good thing it's not smellavision here! Shad I will try not to let the halo choke or drown me!!! Hope you all have a great night and Good Morning Sunshine!!! AGAIN!!! |
Haircut sounds good Mel. I'm glad you are joining the challenge again too. Maybe it should be called N.O.P.E (no off plan eating) rather than No crap.
Had a nice lunch yesterday with Sue. Interesting to see what the rest of the world is doing as well as the families of the rich. Well sort of rich. Anyway, for lunch I had a warm roasted vege salad with turkish bread and chutney. Didn't eat much of the bread as nice as it was - lots of white flour and a bit of salt on top. Yum, but the challenge says no white flour. Gave Simon his wallet yesterday. I think he was a bit dumbfounded. Couldn't think of much to say about it. Mind you he was dogtired and sat on couch and immediately went to sleep with wallet in hand. He spent some time yesterday at the cop shop describing phones, cards, wallet, contents etc so he could get his report for the insurance company. Darned paperwork. So today, I am back to gym. Supposed to go yesterday but got waylaid with other things. Then it is back to grouting and tiling. Things are slowly taking shape. Housework must be on the agenda too. So there is not much else to say here. Back later when the rest of you are finished work and play for the day to see how you got on. |
