This is a great idea so I guess here it goes.
Breakfast: Atkins morning cereal with a little 2% milk, 2 coffees black
Lunch at a conference it wasn't easy: salad, 1 slice of dark rye, 1 slice of cheese, turkey, ham, lettuce and tomatoe, 1 little scoop of macorni salad.
of course I had to have a little slice of choc. peanut cake it was good!
Dinner: steak kabas on the grill with mushrooms, onions, salad with blue cheese balsamic vinegar dash of olive oil
1/2 of a fudgies had my husband eat the rest of course he can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exercise: Tues. nite at Gram's I chased 4 grand kids around gotta count for something.
I plan on being good today, and exercising at the gym. We'll see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lofty Cerise, and very commendable. And Doable I think. I don't eat a lot of refined sugar as it is....I'm just a food freak!
Yesterday morn was bad, however the lunch through to bed was good...I finally drank lots of water, and didn't eat after 7...and NO WINE! 1 NSV under my belt!
Today
2 w/cream (so far)
1 c cantaloupe melon
1/2 c Crispex cereal
1/2 c 1% milk
(this was in one bowl for brekkie)
Am now doing laundry and other stuff. In other works, keeping outta the cupboards!
Last night I answered the call of the Powdered Gatorade...this morning I awoke and poured the rest of it out into the trash.
So, today is Day 1! Again!
Eydie, clarifying: I'm not going sugar-free, exactly. Just refined, unnecessary sugar is out. And I still get chocolate, as long as it's fine. And dark. I know the difference, trust me. For instance, today I'm having lovely organic hemp granola that is sweetened somehow (not sure exactly how), but I'm eating it because it's granola, dammit, and I'm not adding any sugar. I'm talking about candy, sugar added to cereal, coffee, etc. Ice cream. Gatorade .
If I want a sweet treat I have to bake it with unrefined sweetener. Is this making any sense?
Yesterday's eating:
Breakfast: yucky blended green tea/honeydew latte.
Lunch: leftover Ethiopian, 1 cup total (assorted beans and spinach in curry-type dish), and accompanying flatbread.
Yowza!!! Welcome to Skyfirefly!!! Thanks for joining our journaling challenge ... your menu looks delicious!!!!! I'm going to send thee a pm in a few minutes and hope that's ok!!!!
Huzzah to Cerise for that powdered Gator now residing in the trash!!!! Thou beist on the right track, o mighty ... YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! Stay ... Sis boom bah!!! Om shanti! Keep going!!!! Yowza!!!
To all, I have exercised (will report tonight) and finished one story for the job and am off to dentist!!!
Breakfast: Apple cereal bar, tea
Lunch: Leftover chicken breast, handful of dry roasted peanuts, diet coke
Dinner: Still comtemplating. Just had 2 Starburst candies, but that's really not enough. I'm thinking Japanese.
Thanks for the clarification, Cerise--makes perfect sense and it sounds more realistic than going 100% sugar-free 'cause the stuff's everywhere! I try to do this myself--I call it being a food snob--I try not to have it unless its real high-quality stuff; it's the main way I avoid empty calories, I think. You're doing great!
1/2 rye bagel spread thinly w pb
2 Viactiv
tuna melt (2 sl whole wheat, 3 oz white tuna, 1 sl Swiss)
1 1/2 svgs red beets
lite ice cream
lettuce and peppers topped with 1 serving spoon of cole slaw
3 strawberries, 3 chunks cantelope, 4 chunks honeydew
6 oz sirloin tips w/peppers and onions
6 onion rings
bread pudding (approx 1 in x 3 in) w/raisins
2 cremesavers & six little anise mints
1 spoonful of some kind of green fluff that wasn't worth it
1 small cup (well actually one half of a large cup) of cheese soup; I usually love this but today something wasn't quite so good about it and somehow I suspect it's me - that my taste buds have changed enough I won't go for this again or not for another year or so anyway. It had been a long long time so I thought I could have about half what I'd had in the past but it just wasn't the same old thrill. Hooray!
I SHOULD be done for the day but may need to edit later. Still hope to get in a walk
EDIT: Did get in the walk (phew!) - add about 40 calories pretzel stix.
