Crystal - It must have felt kinda nice to get an extra hour of sleep in Good for you! Teagan was up at 7 am but kind of played in her crib for about 40 minutes so I got to lay in bed and listen to her
Penny - Have fun getting stuff together for Andrews party! I haven't yet decided what I'm going to do for Taylors birthday yet I'm sure we'll have it a month early while Hubby's Parents are up visiting it will be nice for them to have something special to do with her while they are here. I'm glad Andrew seems to be doing better this morning.
Leigh - Have fun with on your walk today. It must kind of be a relief to have your house back to yourselves, I dont particularly care for entertaining guests myself. I had my mom staying with us while she was waiting for my sister to move out of my moms house, and I didnt like it at all. I know I know she's my mom but she smokes, and likes 2 drink beer which are two things we dont do and although she would smoke outside she would drag the stench back into the house YUCK!! And I did not like her drinking a beer in front of my kids grrrrrr. Ok thats enough of my houseguest rant lol
Spryng - OMG I'm dragging today too, I have had a hard time getting going the last few days I think it's time to get thyroid levels checked again I dont think my meds are dosed high enough. I agree with you on American Idol if the worst singers in the group keep getting passed through each week I'm going to have a fit and then quit watching I think that it was horrible that Jenn got sent home last week but I'm sure someone has offered her a record deal.
So I'm kinda thinking of switching to WW, atkins is starting to feel a little bit Hum Drum to me I just need a bit more variety, besides the fact that I'm craving a bowl of grapenuts like no tomorrow lol. I'll keep you posted on that, I'm going to stick to Atkins at least for another week and see how it goes. Well I better go get my bed made and the kids dressed and ready for the day. I'll talk to you guys later, around lunch time
Jessi, Cindi, Ginny, Julie, Geri, Ricci, any one else I may have forgot I hope you all have a wonderful day!!
Hi girls!!! This is just a quick note. Geri, those pics are too cute.
Spryng, hope your day is going good.
I had to run errands in town. Thought I'd take the kids to Sonic. We hadn't been there in over a month, any fast food place for the matter. I had the chicken club wrap. Have no idea how many calories are in it. It was grilled chicken breast, lettuce, bacon, cheese and lettuce wrapped in a warm tortilla. I had diet coke too. Have any ideas about how many calories I should count that as? I don't like to go over 400 for any meal, except maybe dinner. Well, girls, I think I'm gonna try to take a nap.
Penny - nice to meet you! I hope Andrew is feeling better.
Michelle: Hi! Awesome news about the weight loss Good for you. I had staples for my c-section. Sounds like you were soooo productive! I need to get on the cleaning bandwagon again today. Also, you've gotten lots of exercise in.
Crystal: Congrats on the 2lbs - way to go!! Sounds like you're very dedicated to flylady and doing very well.
Geri: my incision was also very low - below the hairline. Good for you on the loss - sounds like you're doing a very good job maintaining!
Ginny: I do like the WATP tapes because walking is about the only form of exercise I enjoy (other than dancing, which doesn't happen too often!). But I think now I prefer getting out and walking since DS was born.
Cindi: All your goals sound wonderful - that's great! Isn't the laundry never-ending
Spryng- I'm glad the site is back up too. I missed everyone! What beautiful pictures! I'm also planning to use Dr. Phil for maintenance. I'm about 1/2-way through. I think your husband could find it helpful . . . but those who've finished the book might have more insight about that.
Julie: glad you're staying on track - good for you.
As for American Idol - I'm not a huge Diana fan, but she was excellent last night - perhaps that's the style of singing she should be doing.
I'm now doing a new thing with my weekly rewards - I'm wrapping them so I can unwrap them on WI day! This probably sounds nuts , but I though it would be fun and also more motivational to "act out" the idea that good choices reward "me" with better health, etc.
Good afternoon all!
Just a quick post for me then I am going down for a nap. I got my morning routine done and even scrubbed the toilet and sink area along with my 15 min in my zone so I am happy with that. I need to work on laundry some time today.
Leigh, I'm only on pg 28 of the drphil book... so much reading before you actually get to the diet part. But it's pretty good. I think wrapping your rewards is a great idea. Makes it more of a special treat to you. Anything that helps you stay motivated it a great thing
Crystal, that wrap you had was very high in calories. The regular grilled chicken wrap is about 650 cals!! So add the calories for the cheese and the bacon and you are looking at about 750-800 calories easy. You may want to check their site out to find out for sure though. Did you get it in a reg tortilla or the low carb one? PS... I just went to sonics site and the chicken club wrap on the low carb tortilla is 550 cals and 30 g of fat! Low carb never means low fat huh? HTH
Geri those pictures were too cute! I loved the spaghetti one!
Michelle, if you are getting tired of atkins then I think it is great to switch to WW! That is what I did. I went from atkins to WW. How long have you been on atkins? Have you completed your induction? Just be prepared for a carb shock when you switch over and allow your body to adjust. You may not lose weight at first or lose slowly until your body adjusts. Or it may do just fine.
Cindi I can't wait to hear all about your Wi on friday! Sounds like it will be great! I know what you mean about eating bad for a day or two and then still losing weight. Our bodies are very adaptable like that. But they say as long as you eat right 80% of the time you will lose weight and I think we are all striving to do that. How many crunches do you do?
Well, guess that is about it for me. Going down for an hour or so. TTYL!
Spryng I started Atkins on 4-8 so 3 weeks I've passed through induction, I mean I really want to stick with it but her lies my problem: I felt good for the second week of atkins and had lots of energy, but it seems this 3rd week I have been dwindling again and it could very well be that the dosage of thyroid hormone I'm on just isnt high enough or it could have something to do with the diet but I'm not sure but I'm gonna at least stick with it until my doctors appointment on Friday and see if maybe she thinks I should do something else to lose weight, its hard for me to find things that work for me because of my medical history and how long I spent on bedrest (just over a year) But weight watchers sounds like it would allow me to eat some of my favorite foods and since (i think, correct me if I'm wrong) that veggies and fruits dont count I love fruit and vegetables, orrrrrrr (lol) maybe I just can't commit but I dont think thats it cuz I've done really well for the last 3 weeks on atkins I just need to get my metabolism fixed with my meds it what I think needs to happen. And besides all of that I've been having chest pain and trouble breathing lately (I have pulmonary sarcoidosis) so I feel like If I dont lose the weight I'm just not going to wake up some day ok ok but thats a whole different story (I have a tremendous fear of death) Ok so I'll stop there for now lol sorry had to get all these thoughts out of my head and it works for me for the time being.
Well good afternoon everyone. Hope you have a good nap, Spryng
I actually got on top of lots of stuff today . . . I'm amazed. Kitchen is clean, one load laundry done/folded, one load about to go in dryer, another about to begin. It really piles up when we have visitors.
At first, with the Flylady stuff, I thought: "Is she crazy? I don't have the time for all this." But, somehow I do have the time. It's kind of amazing
DH is out of town, so it's a low-cal frozen meal for dinner tonight.
We must have posted at the same time, Michelle. Hey, as long as you're motivated to make yourself healthier, that's all that's truly important. Maybe your doctor will have some good advice for you. I'm thinking of you!
Hello again!
Michelle, you don't have to justify why you want to switch to WW. As long as you are happy then that is all that matters and if Atkins is wearing you down and you are missing your favorite foods then by all means switch! It's the result that matters, fat gone forever so however we choose to run this race is up to us. And yes some veggies are 0 pts, like green beans and broccoli and such but most fruits are 1-2 pts each. A medium apple is 1 pt. There is a 0 pt soup you can make and have anytime you feel hungry. But talk to your doctor if you like and see what he/she says and then go from there. But you do what is best for you!
Leigh, it is weird how easy flylady fits into our life isn't it? She is the best! lol. And yes I did have a great nap, thanks.
Well I may be missing AI tonight myself. SIL called and wants me to come over and take pictures of FIl's dump truck. They want to make some t-shirts and such with it on it. And because I'm the only one with a digital camera they want me to do it and print it out (like it's free or something) for them. Ugh. I'm half tempted to call and say no. They only call me when they want something and I'm tired of it. So I guess I'll have to set the vcr to tape. Sucks. I like being home in the evenings and doing my own thing you know? Maybe I'm being selfish. Who knows.
I made spaghetti for dinner tonight and it hit the spot. Very good. The kids helped me make it. It was cute watching them butter the bread and pour the sauce into the pan. They ate better too because they helped make it (my plan all along, lol)
Ok, well I guess I'll get off here.
Ginny how was your day? WI????
TTYL!
Spryng - I like doing my own thing in the evening too - maybe because I'm more of a morning person - by the end of the day I'm wiped out! So, with three wee ones on your hands, you must be even more tired than I am!
DH gets home around ten tonight - hooray! He was out of town for work. Right now, I'm praying and hoping that he is okay . . . they found trace amounts of blood in his urine at a routine physical and it's not an infection (they tested it). Now they're doing other tests to figure out what's going on. It can be nothing, a kidney stone, an enlarged prostate, or cancer. I've been a bit stressed, to say the least. His other blood work is very good, so I kind of doubt it's cancer (wouldn't his white blood cell count be high??), but it's still scary. I hesitated even mentioning this, but I've come to feel close to ya'll so I wanted to vent a bit.
Just a kooly week here- I am still alive just up to my eyeballs. Thought I would let you know that I am ok........just busy. Maybe tomorrow I can get on with some more time! Glad the site is back. Take care!
Ginny
This is a quick post, I just got my sink shining and Smallville comes on in 30 minutes, I want to take a breather before in hopes to ride my stationary bike during.
Most of you have had a good day, that's nice to see.
Leigh, glad you've gotten so much accomplished.
Dinner was okay, the kids have been pains today so my dinner was eaten while cold therefore didn't eat that much. Can't wait for these things to go to bed tonight. It's one of those days that I feel like I want to put cotton in my ears, close my eyes and sleep til tomorrow for a new day. Even after eating that lunch from Sonic, I'm still at about the same calorie count as usual. I've got a few to spare for a snack tonight.
I'll check in again after the kids go to bed and be able to address everyone. Hope all are doing well.
