1day@atime 05-18-2004 08:50 PM

Hello ladies,
Good news, we'll it's not the best of news, but i'm trying to be very positive. Our whole group was outsourced effective 7/1. We are only guaranteed a job of 90 days, so i'm hoping within those days, that my performance will be really good. For some reason if they lay me off, then I would be eligible for the severence package, which for me would be close to a years pay. I'm really hoping this new company works out. So i'm not out of the woods, but it's looking good. So I can still use all the prayers out there...

Nita - Wow, you have been having all kinds of dental problems. Hopefully you start to feel better. Thanks for the encouragement. I often think of you and your 50 lb loss. You are such a encouragement with all the activities that you do.

Cat - Wow, that was fast getting your book out. Once it is published, can we purchase one? Or tell us where to buy one?

I did not do to good on my food the last two days. I overate, but luckily it was things like jello, or veggies. Today I had pizza, but I told myself I wasn't going to stress out over the food today, with all that was going on. But tomorrow i'm back OP..

Catlover777 05-18-2004 09:36 PM

1day--sorry about the job news. Will certainly pray--I know how hard the job search is.
Yes, it is amazing how quickly books can be printed now. The first should actually be done tomorrow. Wow!

I'm not quite sure myself how to order them, but will let you know when I do. I suppose if I posted it, it might be advertising, which is strictly forbidden, so I will either PM everyone or give the link to the web site if you can order on line.

RE: Sum, sum, SUMMERTIME....!!!

OK girls... I had to go to page two, I repeat 2, I said TWO to find us!

Ha, Ha, Ha... I have been very OP this week. Proud of myself. I am loving those new Arby salads. My personal favorite is the Martha's Vineyard with the diced apples and dried cranberries! Yum...

I am giving my first day of final exams now. Oh yeah...

I'll only have about 2 weeks for free time, but that works for me.

How IS everyone????

1day@atime 05-21-2004 05:46 PM

Hello Ladies,

We'll I think my job situation is starting to sink it... i'm excited, but yet depressed... I will be about two weeks short of my 25 years with my company. But i'm trying to be positive & looking forward to this new opportunity. My weigh in is tomorrow morning & i'm somewhat expecting a weight gain... with the stress that i've had all week, I'm hoping it will be small.

Hal - I will have to drop by Arbys and try the salad. I have been eating the Wendy's taco salad.. it' only 7 pts & chips make a additional 5..

Hope everyone is having a great day!!!!

mooz49 05-22-2004 04:19 PM

Hi there chickies - just a quick call from Paul's computer. Hopefully I will have my new one next weekend and I will be able to post more often. I am still walking and trying to have mostly NC (No Crap) days. I think it was Shad or Madcat who started that in their journals. I did not succeed on Wed or today unfortunately!!
Sinead is going to Australia on 10 June, with her friend, for 8 weeks and it looks as if Paul will be going to America on 19 June for 8 weeks with Camp America. He has been accepted and just needs to get the Visa sorted. He will be working with special needs children. So the house is going to be quiet this summer with only Orla here.
Gotta go now for a walk so I hope you are all having a good Sat.

Nita 05-22-2004 05:34 PM

Hi Everyone,
All of a sudden I am very sleepy and it is only 2:30 in the afternoon. We are going to play cards across town this evening so I may just take a quick nap. My eating could be a whole lot better but tomorrow is always a good day to start. Only 11 more days until I fly to PA. Time sure does move quickly! I passed my drug test for the Arena now all they have to do is check my background. I am hoping to get into the training class before I leave, however, I may have to wait until I return.

My hand is almost back to normal except for a scar which seems to get dimmer each day.

Hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful weekend!!!!

Anita

Catlover777 05-22-2004 10:44 PM

Nita--glad the chiro is working for you.

Hal--only two weeks off? Are you teaching summer school or taking classes?

Had my appeal turned down on the work on my foot. Don't know what we do next. The "expert" podiatrist said I should try stretching my heel cords instead. Of course, I do yoga, and stretch all the time.

So not much exercise and lots of stress at work. It used to be if you were evaluated and disagreed, you could raise your objections and they would answer, and sometimes even change. But guess they are too busy for that now--and I must surely have the worst monitor on all the sites.

I should look into swimming at the health/rehab club which is only a couple of blocks from home. Of course, I'm not entirely sure my foot will stand up to swimming. It's non-weight bearing, but of course it moves a lot.

Mooz--your kids sound so adventurous. Where in the USA will Paul be?

Well, better head for bed. G'night all. Sorry to all I missed.

Nita 05-23-2004 06:24 PM

Catlover,

I guess it is just you and me this Sunday. I keep hearing complaints from my daughters on how they are being treated at their respective jobs. It surely doesn't make one excited to keep going to work. It seems there are always a whole of supervisors and just a few workers.

I am trying to get the house in order before I leave on the 2nd. Actually I am getting excited about going back home to visit with the grandchildren and children. I can hardly wait to give them all hugs and kisses.

This low carb diet is sure getting a lot of recognition. I am still of the opinion that WW and the "old" diabetic diet are the best. If only we could tell ourselves we just need a little bit on our plates and not only will we feel more energetic but we will also be more healthy in the years to come. I made my diet mandarin pie again yesterday and everyone really enjoyed it. Tonight it will be small steaks on the grill and a hefty salad.

Take care all and post when you get a chance!
Anita

1day@atime 05-23-2004 11:05 PM

Hello Ladies,
Sorry I didn't post this weekend. I was trying to keep myself busy. I think my job situation started to sink in & I was getting depressed. I had a good cry & then said no more. My weigh in was saturday morning & I lost 1 lb. I was really surprised, I figured I was going to have a gain with everything going on. Tomorrow I have a doctor's appointment, so I'll see how I've lost since my last visit with him. Getting things done, since i'll be having to switch insurance companies, not sure if all my doctors are with the new plan.

Cat - so sorry to hear that they turned you down. Maybe the swimming will help.

Nita - Good news that you passed the drug test (just kidding)..& I'm sure you'll pass the background check. That will be exciting to work their. Does this area also put on concerts? Just think if they do & Clay comes back to town..you'll get to see him free, and all the other concerts. I'm sure that your kids & grandkids will be excited to see you too. Now is your husband staying home? How long will you be gone?

Mooz - hope you get your computer soon. Where is Paul going to? I'm sure Sinead will have a great time. Your right your house will be quite for a while.

We'll I need to run... Need to get ready for bed!

Thin, Mitchellez, Chacha - Hope to hear from you all soon!

Catlover777 05-23-2004 11:23 PM

1day--WTG on the loss. Tho it's cliche, a good cry can help.

Found the health club/rehab center (about a block and a half from my house as the crow flies, tho a few blocks as you have to drive), they gave a free two-week membership to anyone who came for the open house! So I will try it. Realized I had no idea where my swim goggles were, so went out to get some. Will I actually get there tomorrow? Tune in for the next step . . .

1day@atime 05-24-2004 01:40 PM

Hello All!

Cat - that is great that you get a two week trial membership, that way you can see if it will help, without having to pay. Hope it all works out.

Things are busy here at work. Trying to check on insurance to see if my current doctors are in the new plan. Trying to get some last minute appointment in with my dentist. REally looking forward to the 3 day weekend coming up.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

RE: Less stress is 24 hours away...!!!

http://www.imgag.com/product/full/ap...2/graphic1.gif
Hey Everyone!

One, yes (1) more day of students. We are giving final exams up until the last hour of school this year, and it certainly keeps the mayhem to a minimum. I ate a sandwich for dinner this evening, and I generally will not do that. I think I make poor choices when I get stressed, busy, excited, all of the above. Strange, but so true. If only to be in total control, more of the time.

I am taking and teaching classes this summer. The first 2 weeks of June are all mine. The 3rd week I am working with the state department accessing and writing state and national test questions for vocational testing. I am also serving as the 'principal' of a summer intersession for incoming freshment to assiist the transition from middle to high school. Wild, huh?

I am sorry not to address all personally this evening. I will be doing that later in the week. GREAT to hear from everyone!

Catlover777 05-26-2004 09:24 PM

Hal--sounds like some interesting stuff--but also stress. Take care of yourself!!

Have been working OT, and tired at end of day. Went swimming Mon & felt better. Couldn't get it together this morning, but will do it tomorrow. Think if I exercise I will eat better also.

Did I mention that the insurance turned down the appeal? So now we have to appeal again. The reviewing dr decided that my podiatrist (and presumably my PCP and my other podiatrist) have misdiagnosed me. Phooey.

So, everybody, let's get back on p. 1!!

mooz49 05-27-2004 05:57 AM

Mornin' chickies - here I am again at the library and it looks as if it will not be this weekend but the following one that I get my new computer. Paul will not be home this weekend either so I have no chance of using his either :(
Eating is fine - I am still doing plenty of that but trying to only have healthy foods. Walking every day is my only form of exerrcise ........... I always hope to get started doing situps for my tummy and weights for my arms but I cannot get started ............ maybe someday :D
I have sold 2 more paintings recently ............. one going to Australia and one to France. I am excited about that but I really need to get the paintbrushes out more often and do some more!
Gotta go now and finish my walk ........... the library was en route.
Have a great day all!

1day@atime 05-27-2004 01:44 PM

Hello Ladies,
Just a quick hello, I have been having to fill out paperwork. Going to this new company, is like being a new hire. Lots of paperwork & they want a resume. I have not updated mine in 15 years...

Hope everyone is doing ok...

Catlover777 05-27-2004 09:54 PM

good evening

WTG Mooz on selling your paintings. You really deserve that success--they are so lovely. So now you are an internationally known artist!

1day--sorry for the paperwork, but hope the new company works out. Do your FMLA etc. carry over? Hope so.

Went out swimming again this morning--it does make me feel better, tho it seems to take so long to pack everything--suit, goggles, shampoo, hair rinse) and leave and come back. DH is very sweet about taking care of the animals and walking the dogs.

WI--hadn't done for a long time. About a half pound up, but I thought it would be much worse with cutting back on exercise and stress eating.

Need to get to bed. Hope I will get up to swim tomorrow. Mandatory OT again tomorrow :p .

1day@atime 05-28-2004 05:48 PM

Hello Ladies,

Just a quick note. I am so ready for the weekend. My plans are to work in the yard this weekend & take it easy.

Cat - What is FMLA? I know my service time goes over to this new company.

mooz49 05-29-2004 05:42 AM

[SIZE=3][COLOR=Black]
It is a sunny Sat here in Ireland and as usual I have called into the library in the middle of my walk. I am getting quite a lot of walks in these days as I now have 3 friends who will walk with me and not all at the same time so I could be out walking 3 or 4 times a day sometimes:lol::lol:
It doesn't always work out that way but I usually get out quite a lot.
Eating could be better ................. usual story .............. I find the bad habits creeping back and I must get a grip on them before they get completely out of hand. I have to keep reminding myself about my blood pressure as I know it will go up if I keep on eating rubbish.
ON a brighter note I was in Boots yesterday looking for a good moisturizer and the lady did a moisture check on my face and the reading was 32.9 which she said was very good. I asked her to do Orla's and it was 24.7 which for an 18 year old is not good. Orla does not drink much water and would not moisturize as often as I do so she will now be trying to change her ways as the lady told her she will get wrinkles quicker if she keeps on the way she is going. Her skin looks beautiful now but that test goes to prove that drinking water does help.
Bettr go finish my walk .............. sorry I have not got time to talk personally but hopefully next weekend I will be online at home again ;)

Behold the beauty

Behold the beauty that is all around you. You'll find it in the vast expanses, in the smallest details, and everywhere in between.
There is beauty to behold amidst noise and confusion, as well as in the quietest moments of solitude. You'll find beauty in the simplest of things, and in the deepest depths of complexity.

Why is there beauty and why are you able to know it? Have you ever wondered?

Beauty exists for the purpose of filling your heart with joy. So take in the beauty that stretches out in every direction, and let it do just that.

Beauty's reason is pure delight. Take delight in true beauty, and it becomes even more beautiful. Behold the beauty that fills your life. It is a blessing that has no equal.

RE: Sum, Sum Summmmmer time...!!! (almost...)

Happy Saturday Everyone...!!!

I do love the changing of the seasons, but we certainly did have some severe weather Thursday evening. Homes were leveled in the towns on each side of where I live. They are calling it a level 2 tornado. They are very, very rare for this part of the country (neighboring states not so, but not in over 50 years here). There is also a fair amount of flooding state wide. The bad thing about it is most folks are not insured, and those that are have very limited coverage. You just have to wonder about insurance coverage these days. It gets more and more expensive, and they seem to cover less and less.

I've had 2 days off, and I feel awesome just thinking that this weekend I have no papers to grade, no lessons to plan - it is MY weekend. This seems to occur only a few weekends here and there.

I purchased 2 flats of flower seedlings yesterday and began potting them last evening. My goal is to finish up (mostly) this weekend. I have some pretty deep salmon begonias and a new flower callled white snow (looks like an asparagus plant like with tiny white buds). I have a huge deck and too many planters to keep up (12 or more) as I ask myself, "What was I thinking?"

My diet has been pretty good. This time of year I can fill up on hearty salads with a little meat. Actually, I plan to clean up and hit the farmers market as soon as I finish this post this morning.

Mooz: Any idea what kind of computer you want to get? There are so many neat things out there new in technology. Congratulations on selling your paintings. That is waaaaaaaaay cool. Keep those paint brushes moving, moving, moving. Hey, Hal's sister Jane is an artist also. She has a website, but I could not see any of her paintings. She also sings, but should stick to the art work I believe! ;) I shall use you as inspiration to start walking...!!!

OneDay: What is the new company/what do you do? I hope everything works out for your benefit. Change can be good. Where do you weigh in, WW? Have you tried the Arby's salads? I ventured into the wild side and tried the Oriental Chicken. My students warned me the dressing was strange. I actually enjoyed it. This salad has mandrian oranges, fresh spinach and the dressing is a balsamic vinegar with a hint of terraki (sweet but not too sweet) flavor. Try one! (No I do not have stock in the company!) ;)

CatLover: Way to go on exercise and swimming. I love to swim, but at my size there 'ain't NO way'. Sad, but true. Hey, you really should splurge and try a pair of Birkenstock shoes. I have bone spurs in both heels (I've seen the scary x-rays!) and when I wear them I have no pain. My feet do not hurt after standing on concrete floors all day, even at my weight. I know how debilitating foot pain can be. I had the steroid shots and a few other things and found these shoes saved me, my sanity and most importantly my mobility.

Nita: I hope you have a great trip. How long will you be gone? Where is it you travel to see your grandchildren? On work and respect, I find that job morale is what you make of it. I have a really 'bad' principal, but I like her personally. Sometimes she says and does things that absolutely make my head spin (as in Exorcist) but I try to step back, and seperate myself from her mistakes/problems. Granted, many of her blunders to directly effect my working conditions - but there is nothing I can do about that. I just focus on what I can to do help and survive! That works. I counsel my students this very same way - there is never going to be a perfect working situation, or for that fact personal relationship. All good things take work. As my man, Hal Ketchum says, "Love is like a garden, we must tend to it, and weed it routinely." Ths applies to working situations, almost everything in life. Hey, did you ever finish "Passing For Thin"? I went to Frances Kuffel's website and she is writing a follow up book with some more information/answers. This is good, because when I finished reading the book I found myself asking, asking, asking... what about??? how did??? Now, she will focus on these things. Good way to lead into a second book, huh? For everyone else... this is a GREAT book about a gal that lost 188 pounds on her own. She attended OA meetings - and still does. It is a 12 step program.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

Catlover777 05-29-2004 10:37 AM

Hal--enjoy your weekend! I am not doing anything much, which is unusual for me.

1day--FMLA is Family and Medical Leave Act. Means that the employer has to give you time off for illness and family needs (unpaid). Kicks in after you have worked for an employer for a year.

Mooz--wtg on the walking. That's interesting about the moisture testing. Sounds like the tester was really trying to help and not just sell a bunch of stuff.

Got information about a Memorial Day campaign I think every American could support--hope no one will mind my mentioning it. The idea is to ask the President to honor the veterans of WWII by supporting the principles that arose from that war, that the men and women sacrificed for. If you're interested, it's at www.epic-usa.org.

Have a fine weekend,all!!

Nita 05-29-2004 11:20 AM

Hi All,
For some reason I haven't been getting notification about posts for our group but I finally found us again. Thank goodness! You ladies really get me going. My eating has been very poor the last few days and today I am starting again. I will be leaving on Wed to go to PA to stay with my younger daughter, however, on that Thursday I will drive to Ohio and spend time with my other daughters, sisters and brother. I will then return to PA and stay until the 15th and then I will fly home. On Tuesday, the day before I leave, they called from the Arena for training, and I agreed to go Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The lady says we are going to have a blast working there. I can hardly wait. I only have four more days of work for the attorneys and then I will be off July through September, and hopefully they will find someone to take my place during that time.

Well I have a lot of errands to do today so I will close for now. Hope everyone is having a "super" Saturday!

RE: Graduation Day

http://www.imgag.com/product/full/ap...6/graphic1.jpg
Good Sunday Morning...

So, I am getting ready for graduation and only have a few minutes to say hello. Gosh... I am seriously thinking of not going. I do not fit into the seats they place in the lower arena for the graduates and teachers. This is infront of all of the exterior arena seating. I"ve ask the band director to place a black band chair at the end of a row for me - next to the smaller red chairs. I am so sick of being in this situation. Many times...

Anyway... this is a graduation posting and congratulations and success for making the decision to do something about it. Right?

discouraged

Hal--good to take charge. Hope it went well.

Meanwhile, I am discouraged. I felt so good going swimming, even tho DH (and sometimes DS) were stuck with all the dog walking. (and I miss going out). Well, yesterday my shoulder was very sore--and I remembered that when it bothered me years ago the PT said not to do some (most?) swim strokes, tho I can't remember which. Plan to go to my chiro and see if he knows. Meanwhile, if I can't walk and I can't swim, what do I do? Walk on my hands? ;) Also I have wasted a lot of my holiday weekend lying down with heat on my shoulder.

Well, at least I have two Sundays for telling stories at Sunday school this summer. I think I will do the Syro-Phonecian woman and the Good Samaritan.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Hi Ladies,

I have been very busy today, sewing, packing and, of course, my last chance to go bowling. Tomorrow is really going to be very busy--I will work at the office from 6:30 until 12:30 and then I will go to the Arena at 5:00 to 9:00 for training. In between time I will finish packing. Now I am really getting excited. I can hardly wait to see those little grandchildren, and of course, the older ones as well. I may even be able to see the Marine. He is coming in for his girlfriend's sister's graduation next Sat. Time really does fly.

Take care and I will try and check in from PA or Ohio!

I hope this finds everyone doing well this beautiful Monday morning! We had lots of rain - mingled with severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. It was NO fun this weekend around here! But... this must be the calm after the storm. The temps look to be in the low 80's and the humidity is low. GREAT weather to work on the planters for my deck.

I bought a bag of key limes. Anyone ever use these things? I used the juice of one to squeeze of fresh brocolli last night as it was steaming. It was really good.

Off to stationary bike. Can you believe it? HA, HA, HA....

Nita: If you read this... safe travels - Ohio had alot of the storms this weekend.

Hello to everyone else...!!! Have a GREAT OP week.

1day@atime 06-01-2004 02:13 PM

Just a quick hello. Spent most of the weekend working in the yard. Ok, I was not actually working but I was supervising. Had lots of yard work done. I gained .6 at my weigh in on saturday & I did not do to well on food. Ate way to much junk & not enough fruits & veggies. Going to the grocery store tonight to stock up on veggies.

I will post more tonight

Hey Everyone...!!

Tomorrow makes a week off. It has been joyous! I had a night class last night, but other than that nothing but R & R. Just say Ahhhhh......

This is the first day in the last 6 that we have not had either severe thunderstorms and/or tornado warnings - so life is good.

I hope this finds everyone else doing very well... and having an OP week too!

Mornin' Chicks - here I am again in the library. I should be getting my new computer this weekend but not sure if the internet will be connected then. Orla's boyfriend is doing it all but this weekend he is also celebrating his 21st birthday and I hope he has the time!! He is only home every second weekend and is kept busy working at computers. As far as I know it is a Del computer and that is really all I know about it.
Eating is quite good and walking is also good. Today is the first day we have had rain in a good while.
Gotta go now but I may get to call in tomorrow morning so have a good day all.

Hal ........... thanks for the beautiful pictures ........ they really brighten up the thread.

Imagined problems

Are you fighting against obstacles that don't even exist? Often, the imagined problems can hold you back more firmly than the real problems.
For the imagined problems can prevent you from ever getting started in the first place. When you're certain that things are not going to work out, you have no incentive to move forward with them.

You never really know until you make the effort. The chances are very good that the obstacles are not nearly as difficult as you imagine them to be.

Every undertaking has its challenges, to be sure. Yet there's no reason for you to add to those real challenges with your own imaginary ones.

Go ahead, take action, and you'll likely discover that many of the obstacles you once imagined are not even there. And you'll find a way to handle those obstacles you do encounter.

Don't let the imagined problems stop you. Step confidently forward and move ahead with those things that need to be done.

RE: Supporting Each Other...

http://www.imgag.com/product/full/ap...2/graphic1.gif
Hey Mooz: Thanks for supporting this thread, tirelessly. Even without a computer at home is most impressive.

I exercised twice yesterday. I spent time on the stationary bike. I need to do more, and will be posting it as I do it. Diet is good - except I met a dear friend for early dinner yesterday and she gave me a extra large bag of cheese puffs. These are a favorite of mine, and she knows it. She had actually eaten the first half. I let her know that was not being nice to me, and did my BEST to refuse the gift. I gave her the 'Passing For Thin' book and a copy of a CD of Kim Richey (she is playing in town next week). Anyway such is life, nothing is perfect - we gotta do the best we can!

Today I am off to sign my program for my rank one. I've taken 12 credit hours and need to see when the balance of the courses will be offered. Let's hope nothing is available for this summer!!!! HA, HA... We also have a arts and crafts fair going on today and tomorrow. There will be a huge fireworks display this evening - as long as the weather cooperates.

Rocky is doing well, but stilllllll attempting to be bad. He knows what he does is bad and immediately rolls over begging for forgiveness. But... Anyway...
Have a GREAT Friday!!!

mooz49 06-06-2004 09:47 AM

Got a quick chance to be on Paul's computer. I still have not got my new one .......... maybe today if the birthday boy does not have a hangover! I don't think I will get the internet today as apparently they sent him the wrong modem:(
Going for my walk now so have a good day all.

RE: Let Freedom Ring...!!!

http://www.imgag.com/product/full/ap...3/graphic1.gif
Good Sunday afternoon movers and losers...!!!

How is everyone this beautiful Sunday? I sure hope your weather is as nice as what we have. The storms have finally passed us, and we have been left with low humidity and temps in the upper 70's and lower 80's. Just exactly what I would ask for!

Well, I thought I had the first 2 weeks of June off. Thought being the operative word. I received a telephone call late Tuesday saying we had class in 2 hours! The professor sent out an email the previous Friday, but most of us were already out of school - and he uses our global state accounts to email. Anyway... she was in school to repair some computer problems/data entry and saw the email from Friday and 5 more emails that day. Only 4 students were sitting there when we walked in, and 2 more came in late - one left early. HA, HA!

I met with my program advisor on Friday, and I cannot believe it, but I only have a few more classes to take and I'll be ready to assume a position in administration (principal or assistant principal at a school). That is not a goal for me - altho the salary increase would be much welcomed.

So, I signed up for a summer class that begins this Thursday. The book for it was $90 at the UK book store, so I went on line. I found it for $50. at half.com.

ADD to that, I received a letter for jury duty beginning July 1. Shoot me NOW... I know it is my duty, and trust me I am actually interested enough to want to do it. I am just responsible for the summer transition program for the incoming freshmen that month, have a conference the week before and extended days to work. I may get out of it, we will see what they say. Life I said - I am all for doing my part.

I went to see MEAN GIRLS last night. Funny, funny movie. If you have teens you will enjoy and laugh. All it is not so funny, but it is presented with a note of humor.

I feel absolutely desperate. I know I've gained all of the 25 pounds I lost this time last year - and it sickens me. Time to take control.

I hope everyone else is doing OK... and post when you can. How about some new summer veggie recipes as we enjoy the summer harvest?

Hello Ladies,
Sorry I have MIA. Been busy with working around the house. I bought some tomatoe & bell pepper plants & am putting them in containers for the patio. We'll once I did that, I guess Blackie thought mom was bringing in some plants for him to pee on...(caught him lifting a leg on one of them), so I threw that one away & now have the others on a homemade shelf. The storms we had the last few days were terrible. There was like over 300,000 people without electricity. Luckily i didn't lose mine. OH, a my weight in, l lost .2 pounds. Not much but a loss is a loss. This week I am committed to journaling & to exercising twice in the evening. Anybody up for a challenge, or helping me with my committment?

Hal - I know it's frustrating when you worked so hard to lose the weight & it just seems to creep back up. Like you said it's time to take control. I too am going to try many of the summer veggies. I have been eating summer squash & zuccinie (sp) on the grill, or even been boiling it. I also love cucumbers, been eating them with ff italian dressing.

Mooz - hope you get your computer soon. We have been getting lots of rain here. I think our lakes are back to normal, which is good cause in the summer it gets pretty dry here.

Hope everyone is doing ok..

It's Monday, and I am prepared, dedicated and hopeful...!!

To turn the page, begin to be the person I know that lies buried deep within my layers of extra poundage - my burden, my personal jail. Nothing like some time off, time to reflect to put things into prespective!

Hey, I found a nice website you may enjoy. It is created by a girl that has lost over 100 pounds, and has a variety of web blogs for discussion and information. There is a daily disucssion question, and they are really interesting questions. Here you go: http://www.skinnydaily.com//

Who on this thread are doing WW? I have a good friend that joined about 3 weeks ago. I received an email newsletter and it arrived today. It had articles for brides to be - which my friend is - so I sent them to her.

I'm reading The DiVinci Code for my book club. It is a good mystery... I love to read mysteries. Anyone else reading anything fun?

OK... I guess that is a wrap for this post. Happy OP days to all...!!!

Hello Ladies,

Hal - I am on Weight Watchers. I will try to look at the post you have listed later on this evening. Tonight I am committing to walking at least 1 mile on the treadmill.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi Everyone,

Just a short note to let you all know vacation is fun. I have already seen my family in Ohio and am back in PA. I will be here until next Tuesday when I fly home. My eating has not been too good, however, I am playing a lot of cards and we even played monopoly yesterday. Grandchildren are a blast, especially little Benjamin who is 3 years old!

It took me a while to get back into the system because when you are on a strange computer you are not recognized.

Take care everyone and I will write again soon!
