Oh Girlie~ Just what you needed. You sound GREAT!!! Debbie~ enjoy that little man!!Iam on coffee #2 too. :coffee: Susie~ :grouphug: glad all is well! HUGS to everyone else, do pop in!!! Monday and the start of March break for the kiddies. Just 2 extras for the morning today. I went to bed at 10 and slept til 8am. MUCH needed!! I am congested today though. Thanks to all the snotty noses around here! We had a lovely day yesterday. I relaxed and accomplished a ton. DH followed up on the job and it is promising. The pay may not be good so I need to figure out the lowest income he can earn for us to survive. The big grump in on the couch though.I wish he would find somethig to do ...like grout the tile!! No pressing plans for today. R&R. Lots on for the rest of the week. I ate last night but I dont remember what .I guess my goal for this week is to eat mindfully. Is this food I am about to eat for my highest nutritional good?? |
Good morning all. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! I couldn't get to a computer over the weekend. I am at the library today. Checking email, posting here and looking for jobs!! :)
Susie - I'm so glad to hear that your husband did well in surgery. That is wonderful! :) I don't have a lot of time to write too much right now. I hope I'll get caught back up with everyone tomorrow. (at the library I only get one hour on the computer per day) :( I do have wonderful news!! I am down two more pounds!!! Yippee!! I am now down to 223.5 pounds!! I'm very, very glad of it. I'm trying very hard. Anyway. I will be going back home to peruse all the job listings I've printed off, clean the house and figure out what I'll be doing with the bills! I found out that on unemployment I will only get $154 a week. That's a little less than I thought I would get and I need to refigure my budget to make sure I can make do on that without stressing too much. Must have a plan. This week is my holding week for unemployment so I won't have any money coming in next week. But if I stay unemployed this week and next week, I'll get my $154 for next week. My daughter's spring break is next week so I kind of hope I am able to stay home with her. But anyway...I will post again tomorrow or the day after. I hope everyone is doing well!! Have a wonderful day! Stephanie 234/223.5/125 SW/ CW /GW |
Stephanie:
You're doing so well! You're really making me feel like nipping it in the butt again. It's been a while since the scale has gone down - I'm basically maintaining. So I need to step it up a notch. I hope everything works out with unemployment and finding a new job. Holly: Hope you are feeling better today. Guess what - DH and I are planning on a roadtrip in May - From here to Detroit, a stop up in London near where you are, to New England, Philadelphia, Ohio and home. We're stopping to see family and things along the way. Perhaps we could meet for tea? :) I think DH said there's some sort of military museum in London and I need something to do while he's there! Debbie: Hope you're having fun with your grandson! I think 8 is such a great age! How has Curves been? I'm in an okay mood today. I'm just starting work and going to make the best of this day. DH is on Spring Break this week so no school - but he is feeling quite sick this morning so lots of time for him to relax. Have any of you been to BD's Mongolian BBQ restaurant? Spores - I think there may be one in your area - I know there is one in Denver. Anyway, it's the coolest restaurant. Basically you go up to a bar and build your own stir-fry. You start with the meat. They have so many choices from pork, two types of steak, shrimp, calamari, scallops, mussels, lamb, chicken and tofu. Then you pile on raw veggies, spices and herbs...and then you choose from about a dozen stiry-fry sauces. You take it up to this giant grill and these fun guys stir fry it for you while they yell, scream, sing and do fancy moves with the giant stir-fry ladles. Very fun...and it's so neat to be able to customize your meal to any diet restrictions, etc and know exactly what is in your food! There is a similar restaurant here called Flat Top Grill but they don't have nearly the selection of meats and veggies and you have to leave your bowl up somewhere and they bring your finished meal to you 20 minutes later...I'd rather watch them make it. When I went to Flat Top, both times I went up to the bar, there was something in my bowl that I didn't put in it. Anyway...just wanted to mention that! Talk to you later. |
Girlie~Woohooooooo!!! I was born and raised in London!!! And there is a military museum. I could fill a few days of things to do!!! PM me your dates and I will clear my calendar!
We have a Mongolian Grill in London too. |
Hi everybody! Sorry I've been MIA. Just read all the posts from the weekend. Have missed reading and posting.
Had a CRAP week and weekend. Did all right for the first part of the week. Managed to do my workouts and eat at home for a couple days, and then it all jut went to ****. Don't know what happened. I was tired, overwhelmed, feeling a bit of a cold coming on...and I just gave it all up. No workouts, terrible binging on junk food, way too much television, didn't really do any of the work I had to do. I don't know, I guess I just got too overwhelmed. Bah. But now it's the start of a new week and I'm ready to make this one better. Am in fact right now psyching myself up to go do my workout. I'm going to do my best this week not to get overwhelmed with all there is to do. Seems like that is my biggest downfall: the to do list gets too long, there are too many emails and phone calls to be returned, there are too many absolutely important things that must all be done at once, I feel pulled in all directions...and after a little while, I just collapse. So I need to learn to negotiate that. I'm trying to think of working out as a relief from the stress. Trying to think of cooking healthy meals as fun, take-care-of-me time. So that's the plan this week. Just take it one thing at a time. Don't freak out about all there is to do. Remember that the world won't end if things aren't perfect. So inspiring to read everyone's posts this morning and be reminded of all the support there is here! Congrats to everyone who lost and is doing well with workouts and things. Hugs to everying dealing with job-hunting stress! Sorry no personals; am thinking of all of you so fondly. Here's to a good start of the week! |
Spores~ happy you popped in. I get feeling the same way. Do you write it all down.It works for me. I make a list ,then I prioritize it then I number it andeven allocate a time to do it. It gets it out of my head and clears up space for breathing.Tick it off as you go!
Hope your workout was great! |
Holly: Thanks for the support! Yes, lists are good. Helps to make a schedule. A flexible schedule, though! Nothing ever goes as planned.
Well, a decent day. Did my treadmill. Didn't do great on food, but did manage to turn down the free pie at school. Am not feeling so hot, wo will put myself to bed in the hopes of a good tomorrow. Hope all are well! |
Hello,
I missed you all yesterday. I was very busy at work and then of course with taking care of DH at home. He's doing more and more everyday so hopefully he's be taking care of himself soon. I have to help him with his shower and such because right now he can't get the bandage over the hernia area wet. We are using saran wrap to help with that. It didn't take long for me to fall off the wagon over the weekend. I had a lot of doughnuts (ever think about a doughnut and that's it round and squissy, well I thought to myself that if I keep eating those, that's what I'm going to look like!) My goal for today is to get through the day with only one sweet. I can eithier have it at lunch or after dinner, but only one. I've got to get this sugar out of my system. Ladies, I know a lot of us said we were struggling, so let's back up...take a deep breathe, make a plan and get going again. I'm at work posting, so I need to keep this short. I'll try to do personals later. Susie P.S. Girlie: Where are you going to be in Ohio? I'm from Ohio. |
I feel remarkably refreshed. Happy sigh
Yesterday was plain old fantastic. Good morning with kids. DH was pleasant. He did comment that he needed to get a job and get outs here the kids were driving him batty. Heehee. Really? But it is not hard physical labour.??really?? The kids and I went to town and hung around the Dollar store. They each bought a treat with their own cashola. Then I copied and blew up some pics on a kodak machine for framing. I am so HAPPY!!!! The first was a pic of grandma on her 95th. The second was along distance shot of DS riding a sheep and I got it closer. Awesome. The 3rd was a close up of all my canning on the shelves in fall. I did a 5X7 and framed it for in the kitchen. Very artsy..The 4th I am soooo excited about. I had a pic of our house from 1972 when it was a gas station/restaurant and recent aerial shot( 2003) I made them both 5X7 and then used a cherry wood frame( I hated the pic in it) , cut a new mat and framed them. Yippee! I went up to bed at 4 and read for an hour. Made supper. Read form 6-7.Got the kids ready for bed. They zonked out by 7:30. I read til 9. Watched 24 with DH and then slept for a solid 8 hours. Weeheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! DS slept til 8am!!! Remarkable. What ever am I going to do with a happy, well rested family? Our night time sitter is coming to do crafts with the kids this morning. I picked up pom pom kits to make bunnies. I did my monthly weigh in. I was 227. That is up 2 form last month. It is OKAY I was very sick 3 weeks this month I have not exercised and I have been eating carbs every night. I am feeling recharged and ready to go. Oh, DH did get a call for that job, needs to talk to personnel today. Have happy day! Hi Susie~ glad all is going well. Only 1 sweet or else  :nono: :sumo: Just kidding! :joker: :D |
MychoiceSusi: Glad your DH is recovering well. Sending healing thoughts! I too have had that thought about looking like the food we eat. Have you seen those ads for Nutrigrain bars where the person is eating somehting like a donut and then you see them walking away with, like, their butt made of two big donuts? Ha ha. Reminds me of that. Good visualization to keep snacking at bay!
I have to go to the dentist today for a filling and I am being a baby about it. Don't wanna go, scary, etc. I guess the good thing is that I can't comfort myself with food since my mouth will be all numb and swollen for a few hours! Am hoping to have a good, productive day. One thing at a time. Breathe, breathe. |
Spores:
Thanks for the smile...that commercial is hilarious! Good job for doing your Dreadmill LOL! ;) Susie: DH was evil and brought home mini powdered donuts last night. You can't ever ask a guy to go grocery shopping. I asked him to bring home milk and he brought milk, donuts and Peeps. That was sweet though...he knows I like Peeps...he just didn't have to bring home a whole 12 pack! BTW, We aren't sure where we'll be going through Ohio, but it's a good stopping point and we may stop to spend the night with relatives in Columbus. Are you there? Holly: I am amazed at all that you get done in a day! I go to work but don't feel like doing anything once I get home. There is a new food that I'm addicted to and it's actually healthy! Whoo. I've been eating wraps made with a spinach tortilla, hummus, seedless cucumbers, tomatoes, leafy green lettuce and a slice of colby-jack. YUM. I've eaten two of these a day since Sunday. I'm almost out of wraps! Very yummy and filling and so fresh tasting. I may get some deli sliced turkey and sprouts that I can add to the wraps. I have a feeling I'm going to be addicted to these for a while. I was very sick last night. I was feeling down and very sad and depressed and all the stress welled up into my shoulders, neck and head and exploded into a terrible headache last night. I was able to fall asleep by 7pm and I woke up feeling better around 1.30a...i was so hungry, so I made a wrap and watched a little TV and went back to bed an hour later. It was hard to get back to sleep and I tossed and turned until 6.30a. So I'm a little groggy but I feel so much better. Girlie |
A message from Jodi
Jodi's Grandma died eary Monday morning. She wanted everyone to know she is thinking of us but wont be back til the weekend.
Love and hugs to Jodi. |
Holly: Thanks for the post about Jodi. I think I'll send her a PM so she will know that I was thinking about her.
I didn't get my final last night because the school was closed! I guess they had an electrial problem so classes were cancelled. Would've been nice to know that before I drove out there. So now I have to go back on Thursday. I always get on my scales at home of Wednesday morning to see how the weigh-in might go on Thursday. Right now, despite all my overeating, it looks like I'm down 1/2 a pound. That would be great! I would feel like I was accomplishing something. Ladies, I must get busy at work. It was nice visiting with you all this morning. Susie |
Holly,
Thank you for the update about Jodi. That is very sad and am sending virtual hugs! Naomi |
