  • [color=red]Ok, here's my Monday report: There isn't one!!! At the gym, I overheard a conversation wherein a Somewhat Fit Person told another SFP that he'd taken three days off to just feed his body all the junk food it wanted, thus resetting his metabolism and conquering his cravings and that he'd started to lose weight again almost immediately after starting to eat clean again. So I decided to take one of my days off again and eat everything I wanted ... I'm talking Pizza Hut here and dulce de leche ... not sure I'm done yet. It would defeat the purpose if I counted the calories, so like last week, I'll just remove this day from the week's average.

I did 55 minutes of weights at gym (total body with a concentration on upper, increased poundages slightly on all exercises) and 5 min !!!!
  • I refuse to edit the above post to close the color code! It's supposed to be in red. Just pretend it's in red, ok?

  • Amarantha, so what do you think about that idea of eating junk to shake up your metabolism? It definitely has an appeal, but I'm afraid that I'd never come back! That was my main problem with BFL---I just couldn't handle 'free day'.
  • Monday
2 slices whole wheat toast w/pb
    2 viactivs
small slice roast beef on onion roll w/catsup
1 1/2 serving of frozen yogurt
    celery
    green beans
    1 roll
    2 slices meat loaf
    loads of cough drops

allowing me a snack yet before bedtime but not yet hungry enough for it.

No specific exercise today beyond a few stretches as feeling bum. Prior three days very off plan but not so outrageously so that I felt bad about it. Might just say I fed my metabolism and cravings. Trouble is I don't lose the weight when I go back op.
  • Eydie, I personally think the shaking up of the metabolism thing has a lot of merit. Bodybuilders call it "calorie cycling," I think. It's sort of on the same lines as the free day in BFL or the Wendy plan. When I lost the bulk of my weight, I always was surprised that when I would overeat for awhile, it tended to move me off plateaus. I also have a bit of trouble getting back on track, though, but that may be because I still try to control the free day (NOT going to do it for three days ), count calories, journal it, average it in. The secret may be to block it off from the rest of life and that's what I'm gonna do ... I am rather sick of food right now and should be able to get op tomorrow ... trouble is, I still don't feel I've eaten whatever it is I'm craving ... I just don't know what it is that will satisfy me ... I'm noticing that I'm kind of doing a day on, day off thingie here for the last few weeks, but I need to eat sensibly the rest of the week ... this was a good experimental day for me, though.

Anagramatic, even if you don't lose any weight, maybe your three days of feeding metabolism and cravings was good for thee in the long run ... hope you enjoyed it ... have a good evening!!!!

    Later ...
  • s, I'm going to send my reports via email for now.
