Doni & Mary Posted Too!! :) |
Hi Girls:wave:
I'm here too!! No reason for not posting just kinda Blah!! I have been sick with another sinus infection~ I've been on steroids and strong antibiotics. I get so tired of getting sick with every weather change. I am already ready for warmer weather. Needless to say, my eating has been out of control the last week. I plan on getting right back with it starting tomorrow. It is so depressing...starting over and over again. :( I have a birthday coming up soon and it's so sad to think that I have fought this weight thing most of my adult life. Man.....talk about being depressed!! Well enough whining from me!! Looking for a better day soon....hugs...deb |
Here!
I made it. And in that little gap, two more items crossed off of my "to do" list. Thanks.
|
Debbie,
Your post sounded like you were so depressed! I know that you've been sick and on a lot of medications. It's hard to stay OP being on steroids.Believe me... I know! You're getting better now and you'll be back OP 100% real soon!!!! Don't ever give up! Tomorrow I will be back 100% too! We can do this! I know we can! We have 4 months before we will be putting on our swimsuits. We can lose a lot by then! Are you ready?????!!!!!! Let's Do It!!!!!!:D Love Ya! |
Debbie, sorry your feeling bad. Know that we are here for you ~ if you need us. I'm having a hard time staying OP too. What do you want for your birthday??
DEE!!! YIPPEEE!!! Our little Canadian chickie will be home soon!!!! Mary, I cleaned animals today too. we have a G. pig named Ralph who is about the size of a rabbit. She WAS so tiny and cute Christmas of 2002 when Santa dropped her off. She has QUICKLY grown into a fat and happy oinker. BTW: We named her Ralph before we came to the conclusion she is a girl. Good luck with the job interview! Ramona, what kind of work is Rick doing now??? I dread going to walmart over the weekend!! I will be thinking of Dan. Sherry, I hear ya sister on staying OP! I have one good day on and two days off... At least you can invision a swimming suit for summer. I would gross everyone out! |
Gayle.....You won't believe this but I was thinking of Ralph the other day!!!! I was going to ask you if Allison still had him! You must of been reading my mind!
I told Debbie that if I lose 20 lbs. by June I would get a thong......NOT!!!  |
Hi Gals,
Sorry haven't answered here been sick and just doin nothin. Mom had her stroke last week and she has slipped back a little but is coming around. I wished i lived closer so i could visit her more but just have to pray alot. When feel better check back in. Love ya. Vicki |
Vickster, know that I am praying for your mother to make a complete recovery. Please keep us updated and take care of yourself too.
Sherry, Ralph is a VERY VOCAL animal! If you've never been around GP's, they can't jump partly due to their very large butt caused by eating so much! We keep her in a large rubbermaid like container without the lid, so we can always walk right up to her and pet her. She KNOWS sounds. If she hears the fridge and the crisper drawer, she starts squealing because she knows I will give her some veggies. If her water bottle has ran dry, the next time I turn on the faucet, she will squeal to let me know. I never realized they were so intelligent, either that, or she has us bluffed. I would highly suggest one for anyone wanting a small animal for kids. She is a very cute animal to have and to learn about. Allison never holds her (I'm afraid she will get away) but she feeds her, talks to her and can sit right next to Ralphs house and pet her. |
HI! I am up with my little one. He was sleeping well then he started coughing his head off. So I am up holding him. His ear ache seems better. Now my other one is starting to cough. Guess we are going to have the sickies this week.
When the dr weighed Logan (age 1) he only weighs about 5 pounds less than his 3 yr old brother. I can't believe how different they are. Logan is built stocky and can practically out eat me LOL and Austin is a grazer tall and skinny barely eats. People ask all the time if they are twins. Gayle does Ralph bite? The kids would love to have one. I guess as long as they didn't hold her it would be OK. We got a fish a couple of weeks ago and they are enjoying him. Actually we bought 2 but one died an hour after we brought him home. Poor fish. Vicki I will keep your mom and you in my thoughts and prayers. Swimsuits. Thanks for bringing that up. That alone should be enough to keep me eating right. Maybe I should put a picture of that thong bikini on my fridge. LMAO Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great Monday. Tina |
Thanks everyone on keeping Mom in your prayers. She always says prayers work miracles.
Check in later tonite. Vicki |
Vicki,
I will also keep your Mom in my prayers. Please let us know how she is.How are you feeling? Gayle, Don't forget our show tonight! AI I think comes on at 7:00! Dee, I'm glad you're coming home today! Tina, I hope the little ones get well soon! Take extra vitamins so you won't get it!! Gotta leave for work....Will post more tonight. I weighed this morning and stayed the same at 165. No loss no gain. Today I'm back on WW 100%!!!! :D |

Hi girls!!!!!
Tina, biting...usually not unless there is the possibility they think your finger is a carrot!!! FOOD is the way into the little guy's heart! I will write you more info later, but they say usually only 1 in every hundred will want to bite. This is a trash to treasure I just finished. It was a junky old dresser with half of the varnish peeled off of it. Wished I would of taken a before pic. I painted it with regular FA acrylic paint, just like I use in some of my paintings, I stroked gold paint into the carvings and just yesterday added the floral grouping on the front. I'm sorry the pic isn't that great! The dresser is painted a berry wine/gold accents/the flowers are a mixture of the same berry wine/white/italian sage green/gold & pearl accents. I am using this in my "home studio" to hold supplies, so excuse the stuff on top and the canvas' underneath! |
1 Attachment(s)
okay...let me try another one! This is a closeup shot of the floral grouping. The colors are soft, so in the pic you can't see the detail very well.
|
I just added some new pics to my picture trail site. If you want to look at the new stuff and then see some of my class projects scheduled, just PM me and I will give you the address.
|
Here is your canadian chickie....I am home. Bittersweet to be here. I would have loved to stay a few more weeks but with mom sick just couldn't do it. Larry and I both cried when we hugged our friends good bye. My doctor said that I could go and see mom today even with my low immune system. I will be going tonight. I have loads of sandy laundry to do, and catching up to do.
Vicki I know how you feel and will pray for your mom. I love all of you and will catch up later wtih you. Now time to get all the sand out of my crack...... |
Vicki-Please know that I am praying for your mother.
Dee-Glad to see you've made it back to reality!! Gayle-It's gorgeous! Why don't you just post a link, you know everyone of us is going to want the address!! |
Hello

Ramona, Do you still like your job? Do you miss the boot place at all? What is hubby doing now? Doni, I'm glad that you & hubby did something for yourself with some of the money since your Christmas was slim. Tell me about EDiets. What can you have? Good luck with it! Vicki, I said a prayer for your Mom. How is she today? How far does she live from you? If I can do anything, let me know! Shelley, OR should I say EBay Mama???? How's School going? OH..those evil girl Scout cookies!!!!!
Yes...I ordered 4 BOXES!!! DUMB!! Trying to help the little girl scouts and all....Yeah right!!! They were delivered to me bright and early this morning!! I searched all day to find a thin person to give them too...LOL. I left them at work, will continue looking tomorrow. Gayle...I wish so much that we lived close to together, or atleast in the same state. I would love to re-do old furniture. I love that dresser! Sherry....Give the rest of those cookies away!!! There is another chance of the white stuff tonight. :crossed: Dee..Glad you are home. Sand in your crack in the middle of winter.....We only have ice cubes forming...LOL. To all of you with sickness in your families...A speedy recovery! We have been going through it with Grannymom too!! It is coming to the point where she won't be able to live by herself anymore. Hard decisions in life! Love to all my floozies friends...deb |
Hello All!
Crossing fingers for a snow day! Me and kids are putting our pjs on backward. Imagine explaining that to a 3 yr old. All I have to do is mention snow and he will do anything. Kids are both sick. Coughing, runny nose, fever, just all around feeling yucky. Lets just hope they get better before the biggest baby of all gets sick. (hubby) Lord knows he will have it worse than anyone in his eyes LOL Hope everyone has a great Tues. Tina |
Tina, I hope the kids feel better soon and hubby stays well! You will need your rest after taking care of the sickies. I never heard of the PJ's on backwards deal until Sher mentioned it...what would a person do if they sleep in the buff? ha-ha! If it snow's I hope the boys are better, so they can enjoy some of it.
|
Tina I will send you some of the snow we have here. Larry has to go out and shovel the roof because there is about 2 feet of snow on it.
Gayle that dresser is awesome. How did you stroke classes go? Sherry get rid of those cookies......let's do this together now that I am home and not drinking all the beer in Mexico. I am going back to check your Pooh Bear. Shelley how are you doing? Did you sell your fathers coins? Debbie good will power! Dump the cookies on a skinney girl. Good one! Ramona how are you liking your new job? Larry and I went to see mom last night. She wasn't in very good spirts but she looked better than I expected. She wanted us to try to help her walk. She hasn't walked yet. We held on to her and she walked about 8 feet. It took her awhile to figure out how to get her legs moving and she made slow progress but she did it. The care at the hospital is awful. She called me at 4:30 and asked me to bring water. She had asked for some at 2:00 and they hadn't brought it yet. Finally, at 6:30 when they brought her lost dinner she asked for water again and got a glass. Her bed was filthy the floors were filthy too. Not very good. One night she called for assistance to go to the bathroom and after waiting 45 minutes she said she just went in bed because she couldn't wait any longer. She is not able to swallow hard or dry food, because her throat was damaged from the tubes. They have just sent her generic meals which most of them she can't eat. She is suppose to have someone fill out a menu for her but they haven't done it yet. I am going down around 4:00 today so that when her dinner comes I will cut it up for her. Larry will come and visit for abit after work and we will help her walk a few steps. I forgot how to wash dishes? Any volunteers? |
Dee! You silly goose!! Dishes???? My best china is styrofoam plates!!! Ha! Ha! HAPPY YOUR HOME!!! I am so, so sorry to hear about the treatment your mother is receiving. It's disgusting to say the least. I know she has to stay in the facility for now, but can the family go in and assist with things such as bathing etc? how about taking her the meals she can have? I've ran into this some with a few of the nursing homes. THERE IS NO EXCUSE AT ALL for this type of treatment. It's one thing to have an accident in bed and to have to wait a few minutes for the nurse. But, it's another thing to have an accident in bed caused by NEGLECT then to have to lie in it. I will be thinking of our mom and hoping things get better.
Deb & Sherry: You can send me those cookies! I am having a hard time staying OP too! Shelley: I didn't post the addy because it has my electronic business card on the site w/ my address. I know there are alot of people other then us that look at this thread and could click on the link. Most people in this world are honest, nice people. But leave it to me to get the one guy out there with a screw loose! |
Hi everyone!
Dee send me some snow!!! I am beginning to give up on a big snow this year. We have another shot later in the week so crossing fingers again. That is horrible about your mom being treated that way. No one should be treated that way. I wish there was something I could do. My great aunt went through the same thing. My mom would go to visit and she would be laying in her bed very weak. They had forgotten to give her her meds and she was dehydrated. I will keep your mom in my prayers. Gayle we must shop at the same place my fine china is a paper plate too. LOL If it doesnt fit in the dish washer then I don't want it HEHE MMM cookies. That sounds good. Good thing I don't know any girl scouts. Kids are about the same. Coughing coughing. Still able to aggravate each other so it is not too bad. LOL Doni How does the Ediets work? It is nice when you finally get to treat yourself to something special. Anyone have big plans for Valentines Day? Did anyone catch My big fat obnox. fiance? OMG that poor girl. I don't think she will ever get all her family to stay and go along with the wedding. I think it is AI night. Woo Hoo. Have we decided on another chat time? Just let me know I can't wait. Hope everyone has a great evening. Tina |
Dee,
I was so upset when I read your post about your Mom! Someone is paying THEIR salary! You stand-up and demand them to do better for her!!!!!! **** no wonder she wasn't in good spirits! It upsets me so much to see patients being mistreated. I'll say a prayer for her again tonight. Please keep us posted about her. BTW: PLEASE send some snow to Nashville!!!!!!!! I want some sooooooo bad!!!! :D Tina, I watched the the big fat abnoxious show last night. Bless her heart!! I laughed so hard last night! And YES...I'll be watching AI tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Saturday (Valentine's Day) is our Anniversary. We will be married 17 years! I'm not sure what we're doing yet. Gotta wash dishes....Later! ;) |
Dee-Stand your ground with those people. Don't let them get away with treating patients that way. I am so glad you are back. Maybe now I'll have some company over at the exercise thread (hint, hint!!)
I ordered a box of Girl Scout cookies, I guess they'll be in soon. I never eat them. I am probably the only person ever who is not all that crazy about them! Tina-Isn't it amazing how no matter how sick the kids are they can still squabble with each other? I know mine can! Gayle-Would you PM me the link? |
Tina, I looked in my favorites, but now I can't find it. It was a web site address I came upon when we were thinking of a GP. As far as temperment, they say males and females are the same. if they do nibble or act like they want to bite, you can take a spray bottle and shoot them with water, they will learn to not bite. Ralph never bites. Although thats not to say if you stuck your finger right in her face, then she would assume it was a treat and nibble away! Steve will even hold her and I will trim her nails, she just kinda hangs out. We purchased a big rubbermaid container from Walmart for her house.
I LOVE the new show: MBFOF!!! I feel so sorry for Randy, the girl! Steve can really be a pleasant dude when he wants. I laughed when he gave the mother the vase that he stole from the other room and Randy was ok with it. I wonder how much longer before her mom and dad blow! I watched American Idol tonight. Those of you that watched it, who do you think will go? I would say the girl that sang the Patsy Cline song and the good looking guy that sang the Memphis song. A hard night to choose, they were all really good! The last girl had super stage presence, but I thought her voice sounded kinda weird, like a duck. Apparently I know nothing about singing, because they all loved it! |
Shelley: I just PMed you again...
|
Hey ladies!
I've been on the road for work a lot lately, I love it! Makes the days go by so much faster!! I am newly "on the wagon" AGAIN....My legs and arms are so sore today. It's sad how out of shape I had let myself get. I've been doing Leslie Sansone's 2-mile walk and I've had to stop before the tape was finished. Before I went on my last (last) downward spiral, I was walking 3-4 miles a day, no problem. Ugh. In addition to the walking tape, I've been doing some VERY LIGHT weight work. That would account for the sore muscles :) My life has been boring lately. Nothing at all up. I'll be alone for Valentine's Day this year. First time that's happened in a long time! I'll survive, though! I hope all of you ladies are pampered and treated like the princesses you are! Love, Cheryl |
I was getting ready to post a long one to everyone, but we just had an escape from the jail.
Later all...... |
Ramona did you get your prisoner back? Gee that sounds dangerous.
Sherry I love your Pooh bears. They are so cute. You put so much effort into our board. Thank you. Thanks for all the support with mom. We have talked to the head nurse and things have improved. Mom is improving a bit each day. She walked around the room 4 small circles. She was exhausted but she did it. She is having a hard time the last couple of days eatting because she is shaking so much. I haven't talk to her today to see if it has stopped. She doesn't shake everyday. Her voice is getting stronger too. Today is Princess Day. I am off for a pedicure right away and I don't know if you would call going for a physcial royal thing to do but that is what I have scheduled for the afternoon. Enjoy your day. |
Well I got my royal visit over at the doctors. I have to go for a mammogram next wednesday, a ct scan whenever and see an ear throat and mouth specialist. I guess it is tune up time after 40.
Yesterday my girlfriend dropped of a Lucky Bamboo plant for my birthday. It has over 20 bamboo sticks. The more it has the more lucky your house is suppose to have. This morning Larry called me and said that he won $100. Wow the luck is rolling in. This afternoon Jason's collage called and wanted to speak to him. He is the grand prise winner for a draw. He will pick up his prises tomorrow. We do know that he won a back pack filled with lots of stuff. One thing is a cell phone. So do you think that the Bamboo works? I guess that it can't hurt. |
Hi Girls:wave:
Hope everyone has had a great week. The greatest thing for me this week is today is Thursday and tomorrow is Friday..LOL. It's been a long week. Dee...Send some of that luck my way. I have been battling this sinus infection for three weeks. I've been on 6 different kinds of meds and still not much better. Today I made appointment with a specialist for Monday. There has to be some help out there for people with chronic sinus trouble. Today is my Mom's 71st birthday!! I went by her house this afternoon and took her a ice cream cake and a little gift. She is such a special lady. Carol send me this today. It's perfect for me since I am WAY over 50 ...LOL I love it!! Perks of being over 50 1. Kidnappers are not very interested in you. 2. In a hostage situation, you are likely to be released first. 3. No one expects you to run - anywhere. 4. People call at 9 PM and ask, "Did I wake you?" 5. People no longer view you as a hypochondriac. 6. There is nothing left to learn the hard way. 7. Things you buy now won't wear out. 8. You can eat dinner at 4 P.M. 9. You enjoy hearing about other people's operations. 10. You get into heated arguments about pension plans. 11. You have a party and the neighbors don't even realize it. 12. You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge. 13. You quit trying to hold your stomach in, no matter who walks into the room. 14. You sing along with elevator music. 15. Your eyes won't get much worse.. 16. Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.. 17. Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the national weather service. 18. Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either. 19. Your supply of brain cells is finally down to manageable size. 20. You can't remember who sent you this list.......... |
Wow Debbie....That IS depressing!!!! It will be awhile before I hit 50 and I'm hoping done of these will apply then!!
I'm so glad you're going to go see a specialist Monday! You've been sick too long. Hopefully he'll be able to give you something that works. Get better soon!! Love Ya! Dee, Thank you so much for the compliments on my cliparts. It means so much to me.I'm glad someone noticed. I think I need a Bamboo too! I need all the luck I can get! :D Thanks for the update on your Mom.She's still in my prayers. Gotta wash dishes...... Hello to everyone else... |
Oh My Gosh Shelley!!!!
Your Afghan Hound print is up to $81.00 and your LLadro Hound is up to $200.00!!!!!! :cp: You go girl!!!!!!!! Are you going to quit the School since you're making big bucks now?????? WTG!!!! ;) |
Sherry-I can't believe the price on the print. I'm worried that maybe people think it's something that it's not. I have had it for many years, and Kay Finch is a very well know afghan hound breeder (I don't even know if she is still alive.) She also did sculptures. Do you think that people think it is on heavy paper or something? It's just a glossy print, and I paid maybe $35.00 for it in 1977. I would hate for somebody to be paying so much and expect something that it's not. Any opinions would be greatly apprectiated.
|
This may sound crazy to you girls, but please pray for my bird, Brutus. He is my 30 some odd year old blue front amazon. His poop has been yellow since Friday, and he seemed to be acting a little different, so I took him to the vet today. They said he is very sick, although he is still eating, which is a good sign, I guess. They had to take some blood tests and gave me some antibiotics that I have to shoot into his mouth twice a day with a syringe. I have had this bird before my husband and kids. He has been though several of my dogs, including Tasha my afghan hound. When I got Tasha, he was so jealous that he threw up for the first couple of days when I got her! He is mean to everyone but me. I love him so much, and he's my baby. The blood test should be back by Mon. or Tues. The dr. is thinking that it may be his liver.
|
Shelley, not a crazy request at all. Brutus is a part of your family and I will be saying a special prayer just for him. How many years have you had Brutus? Please let us know something when you find out.
Deb, I hope the Doctor visit helps you out. I'm sorry it's been a rough few weeks for you. Sherry, I ALWAYS notice your animation, I guess I just get neglectful and forget to mention it. I'm sure the others will agree with me, we appreciate everything you do! Dee, PLEASE, PLEASE, ship me a case of that there bamboo!!! Cheryl, Steve's working V-day, so I will be by myself also. He did gift me with a beautiful set of mystic fire topaz earrings and a necklace. Guess I will keep him! I checked about going to a certification for oils...3 levels to teach, 120 hours total, classes are split up into level 1, 2, 3..each lasting 1 week. My cost with airfair, lodging, food etc. would run about $6000.00!!! YIKES!!! Guess I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and self-teach myself here at home. |
I've had Brutus since he was 3 years old. Somewhere around 33 years!
Gayle-You are doing fine yourself. $6000.00 seems quite pricey! Sherry-Send me some bamboo! Actually, I think my parents have a little bamboo plant somewhere in their house. I remember seeing it recently. |
Shelley....I will pray for Brutus too. Not a silly request at all! Hey BTW: Dee has the bamboo. :D
