That's the site I was thinking of, thanks Cathy. Hope it helps you Mary
I went for a walk too Cathy. 2.5 hours. Pushing a stroller and in rolling hills. My backs of my thighs sure can feel it. Planning on doing it again today.
Thanks, Cathy for the website. It was useful. But I couldn't find anything about how to figure how many points you get. Did I miss it or what? If its not too complicated how do you figure them? I know you said I get 22 points and once I get under 150 I would get 20 points. But whats the theory behind that?
Leanne, belated congrats on you baby. I think u r doing great. With my last one I had gained 10lbs by now.
I'm slowly getting to know some more of u. I've been reading the past posts.
My 2 yr old has been sick the past week. Between that and the high cost of gas these days(most of ya'll are in Canada, right?)I have been staying at home. Except for at night when my dh gets home I go to the gym for 45 min. But I have no energy at night so I feel like I'm not putting much into it. I usually go in the morning but I can't take him to the gym daycare sick. On top of that my 10yr old is now home sick and when they get together its like a cat and a dog. I've been staying under my allotted calories, mostly fruits and cereals. I can be a carb addict and when I get depressed, well ya know...... But at least its healthy carbs.
I refuse to let it get me down. This too shall pass.
Gotta get up and do something productive. Ugh!
Diana, a 2.5hr walk you are a glutton for punishment girl
Mary, the theory behind the pts is that when you are heavier you eat more cals so you reduce the cals and start losing weight, as you lose the weight you have to consume even less calories otherwise you'll stop losing and may even gain for example if you can currently eat 1900cals a day to maintain your weight and you reduce that amount to 1400cals then you're not taking in 500cals that you could do, after 7 days this amounts to 3500cals which (in theory) should result in a 1lb loss don't know if you know this already or if it makes sense to you Anyway, 1pt equals 50 - 70cals? approx (not sure how they work it out really) so 22pts t X 50 = 1100 cals or 22pts X 70 = 1540 cals. These are approximate ranges. I'm sure there is a way to figure out the math somewhere but i don't have it I'm not sure if the ranges are at dotti's or not i have'nt been there for months but i'll take a look and if i find them i'll let you know i got mine from the booklet that you are given at meetings. Hope this helps and does'nt drive you
I walked/jogged another 3mls this morning and i'm down 2.5lbs
Cathy, thats all right. Thats too much trouble. Thanks, though. For now I'm just gonna keep counting my calories. If you think about it, I can pretty much eat anything I want now as long as it stays under my calories and fat limit. I am kinda confused, but who knows I may join the online WW.
I suppose the time goes by pretty fast when you are out and about does'nt it? Diana. You must be getting a really good workout on the hills
I ended up missing exercising yesterday i don't know if i'm gonna get any today either i'm busy starting seed trays and i'm gonna help hubby load some firewood and do a bit of stuff around the property.
Loading firewood, that's good exercise.
Seedlings, how fun. I'm missing that this year as I'm not home.
WI today, I'm stressed as I've been eating like crazy this week. At least I've been exercising.
Diana
Hopefully things will balance out with the exercise Diana with the weigh-in.
I did'nt help with the firewood yesterday i let hubby do it on his own i just did a quick 20min walk/jog on my treadmill. Walked 3mls this morning my weekend out is over and its back to business today
Cathy, you're a meanie, hope there wan't too much wood. Well, I'm glad you're back OP, good place to be.
Well, the luck you gave me worked. I was down 1 pound yesterday Now I am officially out of the 180's. I am so happy with that. I will never see them again. I've lost about a pound a week since the New Year (average). If I keep that up, I'll get to goal middle of January next year, humph, I want to get there sooner, well my goal is by Christmas. Oh well, I really just want to get there I did 8.5 hours of exercise last week, that's the most I've ever done (that I can remember).
Well Done Diana i'm not really a meanie i was busy cooking his dinner and if i'd have gone and helped him it would have meant that i would have had to make it later and i wanted to relax with a beer like him i've just walked/jogged another 3mls i don't have to force myself to do it anymore i just know that i've got to do it and thats the end of it going to make myself a nice low cal lunch and then go outside to varnish some furniture
Wow, refinishing furniture (or is it new), sounds interesting (maybe even fun )
No you're not a meanie, I was just joking.
OK all I did for exerise yesterday was 30 min of floor workout, too cold to walk nad didin't feel like biking Today is a new day with lots of vacuuming planned (as well as a ton of other cleaning). Friday morning we're moving out of this home we're house sitting and I have a feeling that tomorrow will be filled with packing up stuff so today is cleaning day.
Today I woke up and didn't think what can I eat today. Usually that's a first thought. Maybe this is a breakthrough, who knows. Every evening I think tomorrow I'll do good and then the next day I sure don't feel like it. Well, today I do
Gotta go,
Diana
I knew you were joking Diana i was busy yesterday too and did'nt get around to coming online or exercising but the house looks good i moved furniture around and shampooed some carpets. Today all i've done is re-pot some plants and wash some pots The furniture is'nt new, i sand it down and then varnish it. I've got a whole bedroom suite to do yet its a dark walnut colour and i'm either going to do it Mahogany or Pecan, i like the Pecan thats a nice colour the Mahogany is too but it shows every speck of dust with being so dark, the 2 chairs and coffee table i've just done are a honey pine colour they look nice.
I hope the move goes well and you don't have to work too hard
Hi there - I've been enjoying reading your thread. I don't know if I am a new mom anymore with a 7 month old, but I still have my "baby fat," so does that count?
I have been bouncing around for days trying to find a diet plan that i can stick with to lose this weight. I have done WW in the past, but I would be interested to know what the rest of you are doing to lose weight? I was thinking of calorie counting or the South Beach Diet, but just don't know where to begin.
What has worked for all of you, if I may ask? Can anyone suggest a plan?
