Kempy, I drove 15 hours a day for 2 days straight just to get to Florida so I am sure I could handle an 11 hour ride if I got to see you. Heck, It would be fun. haha. The town sounds kind of interesting and it would seem easier if we knew at least one person there. I dont see any listings for a bakery there either. That would be great since up here there are 4 bakeries in the area. I looked up the populations and in my town there are 1500 people and in Cairo there are 9200 people so it would be alot bigger than here but probably not so big that I couldnt take up driving again.

Jacks, We are so glad you are back too. Dont feel bad. I cant fit into any of my jeans anymore so I am going to try to get my butt in gear and figure out how to do this for life.

Julie, I am probably one of the biggest chickens there are in the world. I dont like change at all. I am always afraid I am going to look stupid or something but since we have seen that there is more out there and then came back here and realized that there is no place to expand here and make a good living it just seems like the right thing to try to do. Plus not seeing the snow anymore couldnt hurt either.

Well for supper I kinda over did it:o? We made eggs, spam, potatoes, and homemade biscuits. Actually Noelle the spam made me think of you because on Foodtv they always say how people in HI love spam. Is that true? I like it fried.

Angie I don't think you are a chicken. I think you are a very strong woman. Three kids and a husband you have to be not to mention your work schedule and all your animals:lol:! But I know what you mean I always worry what people are going to think or if I said the wrong thing to someone. I am really trying to relax about that and just be myself. With all the turmoil over the month of December I just want to make it a better year. In fact I was looking through my one of my cookbooks and it has all of these neat little phrases and sayings at the bottom of the pages. And I am really going to follow this one "Worry is the interest paid on trouble before it is due." Have a good night girls. Julie:)

Hello All,

I hope that you all are having a great day.

Noelle--No, I have never done WW before, but it does sond like it will be very easy to follow. You have done great so far, hope to follow your lead.

Angie--I do not think that you are a chicken at all. just trying to make a better life for your family. Nothing crazy about that at all.

Jacks--Welcome back!! Glad that you had a good time.

Hello to everyone else.

Be back later
Sarah

Happy Thursday everyone! Where is everyone hiding? I had to go and sit through a payroll and accounting audit at my accoutants office this morning...can anyone say fun? :p Anyway, I survived and am feeling like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders for now. I still have a ton of paperwork on my desk but that will never change, so why worry? At least I have a job right?

Sarah, the first weeks of the WW plan are kind of nerve-wracking (at least for me). I bought the food companion book so I could look up all the point values for the foods I would want to eat. After a while, you get to know it in your head. The points slider works well too. You'll soon find that some foods just aren't worth the points! I feel like this plan is for real and fits in with real life. I like it very much. Good luck on your progress--let me know if you have any questions too--I like to think I'm a font of information

Hey Julie, yup it's true that HI people eat a lot of Spam--I think we're the #1 consumer of it in America...rivaled only by Guam which is a US territory but not a state. My personal fave is the hot & spicy which is flavored with tabasco sauce :T :flame:. In fact, Guam was the first test market for that flavor and Hawaii consumers got it next. A Hawaii favorite is the spam musubi--a slice of fried spam in the middle of sticky white rice with a sushi nori wrap. Check out this newspaper article written about it. My sister "spammed" Hormel about bringing the spicy flavor to HI: http://starbulletin.com/2000/07/19/features/story2.html

Angie, if you moved to FL I'd make it a point to visit you, have some of your donuts and then we could make a trip to Disney World--or better yet, a road trip in your RV to visit Kempy! Sounds like a plan?

Howzit Jacks! Welcome back and Happy New Year! How was your visit with the family? Hit any jackpots while in Vegas? You're lucky--if you came home on Saturday, you missed most of the miserable rainy weather we had. It rained CONTINUOUSLY for 3 days when I came home! The island is a beautiful green and lush place today though. I went over to the windward side and boy the view was just breathtaking! Back to the old grind though eh? Just 39 more days to the Great Aloha Run... I guess I should send in my registration soon huh? :^: Don't worry, I'm doing it.

 Kempy, I guess you're in school today. Have you gotten to work on any real live bodies besides yourself?

Hello to Cal, Cherie, Dips, and everyone else. I gotta get some work done. Aloha!

ps. Anyone want to start a weigh-in on Saturday then every Saturday after that until the end of the month? I'm in if anyone else is. :)

Scuzin 01-08-2004 08:27 PM

Hello All,

My name is Susan, and I've been looking to broaden my horizons so to speak here at 3fc. I liked to look of your thread and was wondering of I could join you. :)

I'm an Enlish major at OSU and also enjoy music and theater. I'll be celebrating my 20th birthday this saturday the 10th. It is my goal to reach 150 lbs by my 21st birthday, which is currently 42 pounds away.

Have a wonderful evening,

melekalikimaka 01-08-2004 09:05 PM

 Welcome aboard Scuzin Susan--I like your avatar. I used to play an electric guitar WAAAAAYYYY back when. Glad you could join us. First of all, congrats on your loss so far! You and I have similar weight goals in mind and it looks like we started out at just about the same place too~~I'd be happy to experience this weight loss journey with you. I'm looking to get to goal by my b-day which is in December. Oh gosh, I remember when I was 19...so young and carefree :p.... I'm happy you're joining us--you'll make Jacks feel a little older, hehe

jbbm 01-08-2004 09:46 PM

Welcome Scuzin!

Noelle I can just imagine you playing away on an electric guitar. Maybe if we all get together someday you can give us a little concert:lol:! Thanks for that link, it was really neat. Alot of people ask how can you eat meat out of a can but I love it fried up with eggs or even with cheese on a sandwich. You know I am thinking about moving like Angie and just move out to your island because you know I love all of your foods-spam, coconuts, macadamia nuts, pineapple, and kona coffee! My mom would never forgive me though if I moved away with her Grandchildren.
Count me in for the weigh in. Do we name our weight or how much we lost or gained?

Hey Angie hope your getting back into your routine after your vacation. And I hope it is not snowing by you!

Kempy hope you had a good day at school. When I was shaving my legs today I thought god it would be great if I never had to do this. If I ever get down by you I will be one of your clients.

Hey Jacks hope you are not working to hard. Pop in when you get a chance.

Hi Sarah hope you are having a good day also.

Goodnight. Julie

melekalikimaka 01-09-2004 11:09 AM

TGIF!!!

Good morning everyone :sunny: I'm up bright and early this morning and thought I'd pop in before work. I'm so happy it's Friday. I look forward to lazing about this weekend. The only thing I have planned is a reunion party for all the tour people who went on the Bangkok trip. It should be fun since everyone will be bringing their pictures and sharing some of their purchases...it'll be interesting to see what the other people bought (besides handbags and silk pillowcases). Oh yes, and the dreaded weigh-in at WW...I'll do it though and be on my way downward once again. I say we post our weight tomorrow, then each Saturday thereafter. We can keep tabs on ourselves and each other. I'm gonna do it.

Angie, gosh girl I saw the weather report and it says your town is -5 degrees right now! Hope you're doing ok. I guess it's nothing new for you though. I can see why you'd want to move to a warmer climate.

Julie, I don't think I'd be able to play a guitar or any stringed instrument right now...it's been years and besides, my long manicured nails wouldn't allow it . Back in high school I was a bit of a tom-boy "heavy metal" rocker type, but now, I've mellowed out and become more of a girlie-girl . Hey if you really want to move out here, just tell your mom that she can look forward to a yearly warm vacation trip to see the kids. She might go for it.

Well, gotta hop in the shower and start my day. Have a good one!!!

Scuzin 01-09-2004 11:35 AM

Good Morning everyone

My day isn't starting off the best...just frustrated at my own weigh in this morning.

Electric Guitar huh?....nice! A guy I know made that avatar for me from a video of my favorite band.

Hmmm I wouldn't mind moving to, not necessarily a warmer climate but at least one that has all 4 seasons. Most of the time in this part of Oregon we only get 2, drizzling and not drizzling.

Hope you all have a good day

bella27 01-09-2004 02:01 PM

Good Afternoon!!

Well it has finally warmed up a little here. Right now it is about 50 and very sunny. This is a little easier to handle than the 30s.

Sure is quiet around here today. Everybody must be having a busy Friday.

Noelle--Hopefully I will be totally starting the WW on Monday. I purchased my stuff off of ebay so I am not attending meetings or anything, but hopefully I will still succeed. I also have that book and it does list just about anything that you can think of, but I do think that this plan will be very workable for me.

Welcome Susan I am sure that you will enjoy all of the ladies here they are great.

Hello to Julie, Kempy, Angie..hope you are having a great day.

Talk to you later.
Sarah

angieME 01-09-2004 04:02 PM

Good Afternoon! I went and bought a new border for Brittany's bedroom today and this weekend we are going to go around and touch up the house and call an appraiser on Monday to let us know what we could sell it for. I am psyched and scared at the same time but it is only a matter of time up here before there is no more business. People just arent jumping to move to Maine...must be the cold.

Julie, Where would you like to move? You can come to Florida with us and we can all split the rent.

Noelle, If I can actually pull a move off then I think it would be so fun to have a get together at my house. Lord knows there would be more to do there than here

Susan, Maine definately has all 4 seasons. Why dont you come buy my house. haha What is your favorite band?

Sarah, How do you like it in Texas? My grandmother and her boyfriend are full time RVers and they love it there. How much does the WW stuff cost off from ebay. I would like to learn it but I dont want to have to do the meetings either. I definately need something to get going since I havent been on a diet all week. I wake up with the best of intentions and by noon I am done.

Kempy, Have a great weekend. I hope you had fun in school today.

jbbm 01-09-2004 05:32 PM

Hey Girls

How is everybody's day going? Mine is going pretty good just busy around the house. It seems like the work never ends. Sorry for the complaining but I know you all understand. The kids are fighting like crazy today. One minute they are best friends and the next its like lets fight!

Angie I don't know if I have the the actual guts to move. But somewhere warm. And the winters don't even have to be like tropical but somewhere around 50 in the winter. I guess I would love to move to Hawaii by Noelle and Jacks. I am so excited for you and your family. What an awesome adventure. Hey lets buy a great big house together and all work at the bakery:lol:! Wouldn't that be great.

Kempy I hope school was good today. What are you doing this weekend? I hope you have sometime to check in.

Noelle you reunion party sounds fun. I too am looking foward to kind of having a lazy weekend. Still kind of burned out from the holidays. But I know I shoud get off my butt and do some excercises. I did do some leg lifts and sit ups today though:).

Hello to Jacks, Susan, Sarah and everyone else. Did we lose Cherie again? Well Hi to you too if you are out there. Julie

Scuzin 01-10-2004 11:42 AM

Good Morning everyone

Today is off to a very good start, even though I didn't get a whole lot of sleep. A couple friends came over to watch a movie and we anded up hanging out till 2:30am :) We made some plans for today too, which happens to be my 20th birthday. I'm very excited not to have the word "teen" after my age anymore!
However this means that I won't be too focused on the weight loss for today...got to celebrate a little...but back on top tomorrow!

ah yes, and the favorite band would be Chevelle :)

melekalikimaka 01-10-2004 01:49 PM

:hb: :hat: :balloons: :gift: :high: :grouphug:
Happy Birthday Susan!

Hope all your birthday wishes come true! This day only comes once a year so enjoy! Next year when we're all at goal we can celebrate with you in Las Vegas... :D

As for me, I just got back from my WI at WW and was up 2 lbs which puts me back UP to 176 lbs. I am VERY happy with that gain since I thought it would be A LOT worse considering what I indulged in over the past 2 weeks. (:^: I actually ate a whole bag of fudge covered mint oreos in Las Vegas over the course of the 4 days I was there :ink: ) So that being said, I am back on track and ready to be a great loser this year :cb:.

How's everyone else doing? Hope you have a great Saturday!

Is anyone else weighing in today?

calnative 01-10-2004 11:10 PM

I've been sooooo very busy getting in all the rest I can before going back to school on Monday. This has been a great 3 weeks. I am looking forward to getting back into a routine.

Noelle: It seems very quiet today. I have not weighed (don't own a scale), but I don't seem to have lost anything. Last time I was weighed was in November and it was 292. My goal is a size instead of a number. So far, still a size 24-26. I hate this.

Hope everyone is just having too much fun to post. Have a great rest of the weekend everybody.

Cal
