Noelle: You are so right about the parents not taking responsibility. I have been saying that public education will never change very drastically until parents are required to be involved.

I'm so tired now. It seems that so many things are going on (and going wrong) that I feel so overwhelmed not only with school, but life. I've learned tonight that my grandmother will not be with us much longer. The hospice nurse is not giving her much time. They put her on more morphine today. She sleeps all the time. I'm really feeling so down and depressed. :cry:

My husband is very understanding, but lately he's been more irritating than helping. I'm so glad he works this weekend; I don't want to put up with him. Doesn't that sound awful??

I have to get ahold of my doctor Monday because the middle finger on my left hand is numb at the joint. Hubbie even pinched it really hard (left a mark) and I never felt anything. We're both puzzled. :?: I noticed it today, but I don't know how long it's been like that.

Happy Saturday folks. Just wanted to pop in and say hello to all my girls :D. I'm off to my WI this morning and don't expect much--except for NOT a gain :lol:. This month's been cr@ppy with the weight loss efforts for me. It's so dang hard to get into the groove and stay there to see some results. I'm hoping today's meeting will give me a new spark or something to help me keep going. I've had a good week this week w/eating and exercise. I'd love to get into the 160's by the end of February... I took Michael for his 5 y.o. check up yesterday. On our way there we got stuck on the freeway for over an hour because there was a jumper clinging to a lamp post on the overpass bridge :rolleyes:. The police closed off 4 lanes in each direction while they talked the person down. I was so irritated but I kept telling myself that there was nothing I could do about it so just relax. Luckily the guy came down and they sent him for a mental evaluation. Anyways, Michael has grown 2.75 inches and gained 4 lbs in the last year. Doc said he was a bit tall for his height (that's a first for anybody in MY family) but his weight was fine. But I still got a lecture about kids' eating habits and the rise of obesity in kids...he talked about what we feed our kids nowadays, like McDonalds fare, cheeseburgers, french fries etc. and that kids need to learn how to eat properly while they're young because it's difficult to change eating habits later in life--tell me something I don't know doc! Anyway, I am soooooo rambling right now because I just woke up and I'm full of energy.

Cal, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. :grouphug: I'm thinking of you and your family. Come here and vent if you need to, we're all here for you. Take care of that finger. Were you "giving" it to anyone? heehee...

Tonya those ice cream sandwiches sound great. I love caramel, how cool to get it in a 3 pt snack! ...when I was on vacation in Maui once Rick, Michael and I had two pints of haagen daaz--dulce de leche and chocolate fudge brownie, they were soooo good. In fact, there's still evidence of that indulgence on my rear end :lol:.

Angie, welcome to the world of eBay! I had to smile when I read your post--even though I feel for you getting sniped like that. I have to confess that I'm a sniper too--like it or not, it's the ebay way. How else are you going to save money? What I usually do is check the speed of my computer, like say if my computer takes 3-5 seconds to refresh then I wait til the last 10 seconds of the auction with my final bid and submit it then, that way if it's higher than the other bidder, they won't have time to resubmit another. It also gives you a mean adrenline rush when you win it that way. I'm hoping someone lists another great deal like that for your pie press--I promise I won't outbid you on it :D, I wouldn't know how to use it and it would cost WAY too much to ship it here.
