Gayle...I love your painting. Looks like the hills of Tennessee in the winter. I agree with everyone else, it takes a special person to do Hospice work. James' brother had hospice care before he died. When we got the news we both left work and went to his house. There was 4 Hospice caregivers there and a preacher. The preacher prayed over him and the caregivers sang "Amazing Grace". You could tell they loved him. It was the most touching site I had ever seen. You will be blessed!!
Sherry.....I agree with Gayle...NO resting with Wayne...LOL. Hope you are feeling better. I know you will support me, no matter what plan I am on. Love ya!!
Great job of staying OP Deb!!! Thank you for complementing my mountains, I have only been to mountain country once and that was looking afar. Living out here on the plains, everything is level with not even a slight hill.
How you feeling Sher? Did you make sure to stay in bed by yourself??? remember, no hanky-panky until your better!
Shelley: Did Mike decide if he's staying in the air conditioning business?
Thank you for the kind words about Hospice. I can truly say that I feel so good giving my time to such a worthwhile organization. The man that just passed away had no family living close enough to visit, so my visits really made his day. He returned the favor by being such a kind hearted person. Even in his last days, he had concern for others and never complained about his situation. In fact, the last day I seen him, he told me he had been so blessed in his life, and he was happy to have had a good life.
Over the past few months, I've finally gotten brave enough to share some of my artwork with you and thank you all soooooo much for the complements and words of encouragement. I need to work on my confidence level and I think that will also reflect in my painting. Can you guys give me input on what I should price my paintings at?? Most will be 16"x20" on stretched canvas. Do you think they are good enough to sell at the craft show? Suggestions please!!!!!
Doni is that pumpkin picture cute. I just love it. I am glad that things are well with you.
Sherry did you go to work today? I hope that you stayed home. Thanks for sharing your weather with me. I can picture myself with you enjoying the outdoors. Yesterday we thought that it was nice here, it was 60. Warmer that normal so we will take it.
Gayle your pictures are definitely saleable. I don't know prices for canvas paintings so I can't help you with the pricing. You are realy developing that talent of yours.
Debbie maybe I can get you to post today.......I would like to know what you did for your parents 50th. Any ideas for me, when we through mom and dad's in spring? What about you Ramona do you have any ideas?
Shelley so what is Mike doing with his time? Does he help out around the house when he isn't working?
I know that I haven't posted any of my menus but I will tell you what I am making for supper. Tonight it is homemade French Onion Soup with a french bread that is fried and crandberry peach crisp. Yesterday we had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn and peas, with mini raspberry cheese cakes. Two days before we had a chef salad and buns, with peanut butter cookies and day before we had ceasar salad with toasted bagels and there was dessert (my weakness) there always is dessert. Hope that gives you a few ideas.
Sorry I didn't answer you sooner. I knew somebody asked me a question, but then I couldn't remember or find it...LOL. Mom and Dad's party was wonderful. Just a small family party with a reception. My SIL made a cake that had 4 layers and a big 50 on top. We took lots of pictures, and all of us kids got up and told about some special memories of when we were children. There wasn't a dry eye in the place.
My Mom and Dad got married by a justice of the peace so they had never cut the cake and fed each other. They were so cute!! My Mom wore a ankle length beige lace dress and she looked beautiful. We had a money tree for them, I think they got close to 1,000. The party was nothing real fancy but it was very special to all who attended.
I went back to work today. I felt like I had so my work wouldn't pile up! I'm feeling some better today. I'm just so tired tonight. This will be a quickie because I must lay down soon.
Gayle,
Your painting is so beautiful!! You are so lucky to have such wonderful talent! Let me know what you decide about a price. I have no idea but I do know they will sell!!
Doni,
Loved your pumpkin with your name on it!!
To everyone else......I'll post more tomorrow night.
Sherry: I'm glad your feeling a bit better. Try not to wear yourself out too much at work. Sit and rest when needed, everyone will understand. I'm thinking around 40-45 dollars on a 16x20 canvas, the person will need to purchase the frame. If I get my butt in gear, I can do one in a few hours.
Doni: Can you post a sample menu??? I'm not familiar with your plan.
Debbie thanks for sharing the info about your mom and dad's anniversary. My mom and dad also got married by the justice of the peace. The party sounded really special.
Gayle the prices for your paintings sound really reasonable.
Hope you all have a great weekend. We are off to dinner to friends of ours that we met in Puerta Vallarta a couple of years ago. They just live across the river from us. Small world.
Sher...Glad your feeling better...take it easy still..
Gayle....WOW....WoW...WoW you are very talented lady....I wished i could paint like that... I am still a scrappin Gayle.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and enjoyed that extra hour of sleep. It has turned off cold here this morning. Yesterday was beautiful, in the mid 70's. But today it is raining and the high only 50. Good day to stay in a watch the game "GO TITANS".
Got to cook breakfast, I will post more later.
Debbie-It is supposed to get cooler here by Wed. May a high of 82 at that time. With the time change, it was quite warm, but still nice out this morning when I ran.
Sherry-Thanks for the flex points answers. I started yesterday and did pretty good. Today I have already racked up 9AP's, so hopefully I won't have to use any flex points. Please take it easy today!!
Gayle-Your prices sound reasonable to me too, although I know nothing about prices on paintings. I bought some paintings with frames years ago from a man who painted afghan hounds (that was back when my Tasha, an afghan hound, was alive.) I paid $300.00 and $400.00 a piece for them, but he was supposedly a renowned artist among the doggie set. Also, someone in the mall painted a picture of me and Tasha and I paid $500.00 for that (it was in pastels.) Have you ever thought about painting pictures of people? The woman in the mall was always very busy. She did the paintings from photographs. I also had her paint a picture of my mom and dad for their 50th anniversary 16 years ago and paid $500.00 for that. Boy, I used to have money to burn, didn't I??? That was before children!! Anyway, you might give it some thought for later.
