  • Hello ladies,

Angie - good luck with your surgery tomorrow! I'll keep you in my prayers. You will have time to heal before the store opens, right?

Marti - awww, James is a sweetie! Happy anniversay, and I wish you both many, many more! Neal brought home flowers for no reason not long ago, and as he was getting out of the car with them, son-in-law Dale pulled up at his own house, which is very very close to ours. So after Neal came in and gave me the flowers and we talked a few minutes, he said he had to go tell Dale that he (Neal) wasn't in trouble or anything. I laughed when he got out the door! He was afraid Dale was snickering over "make up" flowers! Men are worse than women!

I have been spending lots of time with Mary while Dale has been at work. The baby was due yesterday, and she is nervous. So I've been trying to take her mind off of it. She has been having contractions for awhile now, but nothing too serious yet. The baby is down so low that Mary walks funny.

    TTFN,
    Jana
  • Hello ladies-

Well I took my test in accounting today and I know I did terrible. For one, I didn't study to much, if at all. Too much going on in my life on top of school. My timing for going to school is really bad. Last time I went I was pregnant with Jhanai, and she was all that I concentrated on! Oh well, I'll study for the next one.

Have any of you heard of that show called "Extreme Makeover"? I watched it for the first time last week and I was amazed at the transformation. So I had to get on-line and look at the photo gallories of the ones I missed. OMG!!! I was shocked. They are all totally different people!! They looked wonderful!! I don't know if I could go through ALL of those surgeries at once. But the end results sure were amazing. I can't even imagine changing myself so drastically as these people did. One woman looked 20yrs. younger! Talk about a self-esteem builder. I would like to have some lipo done on these thighs of mine and maybe a little off the tummy. But I don't see myself going in for that. (unless it was for free!! )

Angie- I will be thinking good thoughts for you tomorrow on your surgery. I'm sorry, but I forgot what it was that your getting surgery on. Or did you not mention it? Hope you heal fast!!

Jana- Baby not here yet eh? She'll be here by tonight! I can just feel it!! I hope the labor goes smoothly for her. My sister video tapes hers and she had me watch it.... it seemed like it lasted forever... poor thing. My labors both, lasted 2hrs.from start to finish. So it was very quick. I hope your daughters is the same way!

well I better get some dinner. My tummy is growling. I hope everyone has a good night. And I hope to hear from more of us sometime soon. I think we've lost a couple!

    take care

  • Good evening ladies,
Feeling good, had the surgery this morning and came throu with flying colors,,,wishing I had this down years ago. Came out of sleep wanting a burger....lol

Poor Mary.....tell her to go for a walk...and for her and Dale to ummm spend some ALONE time....which is a great way to bring on labour....

Marti,,,,so next test you kick it,,,,I just told Tanner who failed his math test miserably today that the great part of failing your FIRST test is you know what your having trouble in and work on that.

Ive got tomorrow off then Im back at work,,,even working our Thanksgiving day...wich sucks. We are going to do the dinner on Wed when Im off and Monte gets off early.

Anywho better get to bed,,,and I need a hit of Motrin...lol
    Angie
  • Hi ladies....long time no see!

Ive been a busy girl once again. Ive been working on getting the house and yard ready for winter. What happened to summer? We had a few hot days, then BAM.....its cold again. Not that Im complaining. I LOVE fall. The trees here are starting to change, and look so pretty.
My poor hubby re-injured his back, so Ive been taking care of him. He was bed ridden for three days. The doctor has him whacked out on 3 different kinds of pain pills and muscle relaxers. It scares me to death when he drives the car. He's already had back surgery once, about 10 years ago, and we're hoping that it doesnt come down to that again.

Speaking of surgery...Angie,,, how did it go? I hope that your not in too much pain, and that everything was successful, and you'll be feeling healed soon!
Hows the new job? Are you enjoying management? I was a store manager of a 20,000 sq ft furniture store in Toronto, with 30 employees. The funny thing was that I was one of the youngest people there. I dont think that I would ever want to manage again. I was a professional babysitter, as well as a punching bag for upper management. But Im not bitter...LOL
Sorry....dont mean to scare you! I hope everything goes great for you!

Jana....has the baby arrived? You need to get a digital camera so we can see!!!! Hows Mary doing? I hope labor wasnt too hard for her. So this is a little sister for the twins right? Are they all ready to be big sisters?

Marti...Happy Anniversary! What a sweetie James is. Are you engaged? Im sure you told us somewhere, but I have forgetten. When are you getting married? Good men are so hard to find, and he sounds like a keeper.
Extreme makeover fascinates me and repulses me at the same time. I'll have to go take a peek at the site and see the changes.

Ive become an Ebay and Amazon-aholic. Ive cleaned the house and garage out, sold a bunch of clothes and made enough for two trips to Hawaii!

Well it looks like im not the only one whos been missing. Hi to everyone else lurking around! Hope everything is good in your part of the world!

    Michelle
  • Hi Michelle,
I feel pretty good, considering. The pain feels like menstral cramps. A little motrin and Im ok. I did over do it today and had to lay down for a bit. I stopped at the store today and bought a couple of shirts for work,,,paid 35 bucks for a really nice top and sweater and bracelet,,,cheap! Im going to be so fashionable...
Even my hair is fashionable right now,,,its all the colors of fall.
I was reading a mag this after noon and saw a really cool contest,,,can't enter cause Im Canadian,,,but thought you guys could... check out www.lifetimemag.com you could win a month of pampering. Mancure each week, cleaning service, flowers, a gym membership and a movie with the popcorn and drinks.
Well I better run ,,,ha ha ha I mean walk

  • She's here!!! Caylin was born last night and weighed in at 7 lbs. 4 oz. and was 21 1/2 " long. She a cutie and looks like her daddy. And is sweet as can be. The delivery was easy according to Mary, and all is well. They have to stay for 48 hours and will be home tomorrow evening.

Marti - I haven't seen the Extreme Makeover show, but could use a lot of things done! I don't have many wrinkles yet, but am getting an old lady neck that drives me nuts! Can you do anything to make up for the bad grade on your test?

Angie - glad things are working out for you. I had to laugh when I read your post, because their "alone time" is what brought on her labor! Hope you aren't in too much pain!

Michelle - Hope your DH's back is feeling better. Neal was hospitalized with his a few years ago, and I know what big babies men are when they are in pain. The baby's pic will be at the local hospitals web site in a couple of days, and then I will give you guys the link. Yes, this baby is a little sis to the twins. They got to see her just a few minutes after she was born, and were amazed with her and the site of all of them together brought me to tears.

Well, I'll be busy with the twins while Dale is at the hospital with Mary. I am worn out from all the stress of yesterday - although the birth went fine, all kinds of things run through your mind at the time. The house needs cleaned but I don't see that happening today, lol.

Take care and I'll talk to you tomorrow.
    Jana
  • Congrats Grandma! I could just imagine getting teary seeing all your grandbabies together,,,,
I have hardly any pain,,,more or less what Mary is feeling now too.
But what I am is overwhelmed with all that I have to learn in this store...OMG its nuts! And I can't stop buying new clothes...so far, 2 shirts 2 pants, tights and a bracelet. And I have my eye on a few other things...geesh!
Anyways better get to bed, tomorrow is our Thanksgiving, and feel so bad that I have to work, in fact DH has to too. So we are going to do the turkey thing on Wed.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who is celebrating.
    Angie
  • Congratulations Jana-

You need to post some pictures!!

Well, I got my test back in Acct. and I flunked it. But I'm determined to do much better on the next one. I will be meeting with some tutors to help me figure out what I'm not getting.

I've been doing pretty good with being OP. For the most part anyway. I can't say that I've been perfect. My quantities are good, my choices are not. I will have to sit myself down and give myself a long lecture as to why I'm not concentrating on my eating like I want too. I think with all that's going on around here, I'm extremely stressed. But that shouldn't be any excuse. I'm always coming up with excuses and that has got to stop!!! My next weigh in is next Saturday. I hope to see something good going on there. Must work out!!!!

Ok... I need to go study.

    Take Care
    Marti
  • Hi ladies,

Angie - happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Have a good time! Will you be visiting with family?

Marti - I think you will do better on the next act. test, especially with the help of a tutor. YAY for you doing pretty good with being OP.

WHERE IS EVERYONE ELSE WHO CONSIDERS THEMSELVES A JADED LADY??? Come on, gals, lets don't let this thread dwindle down, okay?

I have only a minute to say hi! Things are hectic but I took the day to go shopping since Dale is home with Mary today. There were sales everywhere, but I didn't find much that was on my list for Christmas.

I just checked the hospital link, and they STILL don't have Caylin's pic on there yet, but I will let you know when it is up.

    TTFN,
    Jana
  • Hello girls-
I thought I would pop in to see how you're all doing.

Jana- how is that baby doing? It only seem not too long ago that I had my DD, and now she's 9!!

Angie- How you doing? I went over some of the past post to see what it was that you had surgery for... didn't find it. Sounds like you're doing ok though...Glad for that.

I got an e-mail from a friend the other day. Her mother had a heart attack last Thursday. Apparently she was having some pains of some kind and my friend just told her to get in the car because she was taking her to the hospital, and her mother was making a fuss. Well it turned out they had to do some surgery and her heart stopped during it!! If my friend hadn't been so persistant.......she's ok now, still in ICU, but she came out of it. Now she needs to change her lifestyle and get healthier. How scary that must have been. Makes you put things in a different light. Try to improve in our health to where we can lead a long and happy life you know what I mean?

On to something more cheerful. Over the weekend my grandmother had some family over so me and my daughter went over there, (my daughter had never met these family members) and they were asking her what she wanted to be when she grew up.
She blurted out "I'm going to be famous" ; Not I "want" to be, but "I'm GOING to be"...Then she tells of her plans to move to New York when she is out of school, she wants to act, write, and sing. I sat there with my mouth open thinking "WOW"
Then she proceeds to talk about how she will live comfortably to where she can support me and James and her dad when we're older. Now how is that for an answer to a simple question???

Now Jhanai never got that type of personality by watching me! I'm a shy, still not knowing what I want to do when I grow up, kind of gal!! But I am proud of her determination and drive she has at such a young age. She will definately do something important in her life,,, I can feel it.

Ok ladies, I best be going. I feel the need to nap, but it's to late in the evening, if I were to lay down, I wouldn't get back up!!

    Take care
    Marti
  • Here is the link for Caylin's picture: go to Web Babies, then click on Caylin Dale Paris.

She looks just like her daddy!
    Jana
  • Hi ladies,

Marti - wow! You must be really proud of your daughter! She sounds like she knows what she wants and will get it for sure. It is sweet that she wants to take care of you and James when you get old. My kids will probably slap me in a nursing home ASAP, lol.

I did it, ladies, I bought a digital camera. It is a Sony 3.2 pixal and I don't have a clue how to use it yet. I'm going to read the book while the batteries are charging. Any general advice? Our Walmart has the machine to take the smart card in and print pics at a real good price. I've been told that is cheaper than printing your own when you consider the price of ink and special paper. Do you agree? Anyway, wish me luck with it....

    Better go. TTFN,
    Jana
  • Woo Hoo!
I'M BAACCCKKKK!!! Hey everyone! I haven't posted in like 60 days! OMG- my puter died! There was no way I could replace it. Did I mention that I live on a teacher's salary? Nuf said! My sweet little BIL finally drove down and fixed the dang thing for me. Yipee!

Looks like I have missed a lot of excitement since I was out of commission. Congrats on the baby, Jana! I saw the picture and you have a cutie on your hands! I will have to get busy and read some of the posts that I have missed.

I have been spending every weekend at our place in the hills. It's hunting season, you know. DH hasn't been able to get a deer yet, but so far the guys have only been able to use crossbows. Muzzleloading starts this week, so maybe he will have better luck. I love venison. We are also getting a horse! Do any of you guys have one? Are they a lot of trouble? If so, this is gonna be DH's pet! lol I love horses and I have always wanted one. If the poor dear can hold me up, I may have buns of steel after a few months! K- maybe not!

Well gonna get in bed now. See y'all later!
  • Angie- what happened? Why did you have surgery?!? I hope you are doing o.k. I will remember you in my prayers. Night.
  • Welcome back Kayecee!!!

So glad to hear it was only a computer issue and that you yourself are ok!! We had a woman posting here that had a hurricane hit her area (she wasn't around when it happened) and she had planned to post when she got the chance, when she got back home. Haven't heard from her yet.
    So welcome back girl!!

Jana- the baby is beautiful. Of coarse, I couldn't stop at just one picture, I had to look at more. They are so cuddly!! I think I should go into the field of working with babies..... just go in there and just hold them and cuddle!!
I wish I could give you advice on the camera. I myself, am trying to figure out how to use mine. James has shown me what to do many times, but I don't use it enough to remember!!

Ok, girls, I've got to get ready for school.

    Take Care
