Default HI!

HI! It is another Monday that I'd like to forget. I did not binge though. THat is good! I got to work smiling and happy and right away someone tried to get me in big trouble. The swear words were floating through my brain. Later on I thought, why do I let one mean person get to me? Why don't I try to make them happy? Instead of them making me angry, I could force my happiness on them! So, I hope on Tuesday someone is mean to me so I can practice my killer kindness!! My goal is to get through the week without depending on sugar to solve my problems.

Hi gang. Hope you all survived your Monday.

Becky, Welcome back! I know you are really busy with school and the little one. Glad to see you here. Congrats on the loss. You're doing awesome!

Jillzeebean, Welcome to our group. I love your attitidue about killing them with kindness. I hope no one is mean to you though...it would be better to not have to practice.

LA, I tried to e-mail you back, but I don't know if it went through. How did the rest of your weekend go? Hope you are having a great day.

Grasshopper, Congrats on the new job. That's so exciting. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Well, gang. I can say that y'all have really motivated me to get with it. I did get on the scale & it was about where I thought it would be....257. My highest weight ever was 272 and that was about 3 years ago. Yesterday I went and worked out for about 45 minutes total on the treadmill & exercise bike. Today I did another 30 minutes on the treadmill. I'm letting some chicken thaw so I can cook that up for the rest of the week.

I'm sort of looking at putting my own type of plan together. I really like Body for Life, but it's too rigid with my schedule. I've also been reading up on the South Beach diet & think that may be an option. I've done WW online & enjoyed it. I'm just not a public person & don't want to do the meetings. I know the only way to do it is eat healthier & exercise. I know they will improve more than just my weight. I've just got to figure out how I'm going to do it!

Well, I need to go check my Fantasy Football teams. I still have players playing tonight, but need to see how badly I'm being beaten.

Have a great week.

Hi All,

WOW!! Motivation and Killing With Kindness, this is what I like to hear. I went to WW tonight. I was up 3 pounds (as expected) but I did get up EARLY this morning and at the gym by 7:15, did weights and cardio. I'm EXHAUSTED tonight. My grandmother is coming down for a visit Wednesday. We're going to PA next week.

I hope to get back on track I've given myself permission to be bad TWICE on this trip. But WW has these new flex points which could help, too. Jenjen, a co-worker just started South Beach, I'll let you know how it goes. I'm up for review tomorrow, Keep your fingers (and anything else you may have) crossed.

Trying to get my act together AGAIN.....thinking about checking TOPS out tonight. Cheaper than WW and I haven't tried TOPS. So we'll see....even have one of my brothers willing to go with me. Should be interesting.

Hey gang. Hope y'all are having a good day.

LA, Have a great visit with your grandmother. Are you actually going on a vacation next week????

Kathy, I didn't watch a lot of the game last night. I just couldn't get into it & I was flipping between that, For Love or Money, & Paradise Hotel. I know pretty sad. I did win the head to head game and am in 4th (out of 12) in another league.

Grasshopper, Did you go to the TOPS meeting? I've heard lots of good things about the program.

I cooked up a lot of chicken tonight. It should get me through the rest of the week for lunch and dinner. I made some pasta & sauce & the chicken should also be good for sandwiches.

I didn't go exercise because I spent the evening in the kitchen. I may go to the bookstore later this evening and look for a couple of books I've been interested in.

Guess that's it. Talk to y'all later.

Hi Ho,

Well, let's see. Work has actually bee okay this week. My grandmother won't be able to get here until Thursday. I went to WW and was up but now I'm doing those flex points things.

Jenjen, good for you for getting things in order. We promise to support you.

Grasshopper, I went to TOPS for a year. I liked it, it's easy and you get a lot of support. I was working graveyard and was too sleepy to go to the meetings, which is why I quit. Good Luck to you.

Corning, glad to hear from you.

Well, once again people are going out on dates and meeting new people and all this. And where am I? stuck here on this computer...alone. I am really happy for my friends, but yeesh, you'd think Cupid would at least fire something my way.

I will be on vacation for Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. But I'll talk with all of you between then. Are we chatting Thursday? I can if you can.

Talk to you soon,

LA

Default Hi all!

Well - I sort of fell out of good habits I was forming this week. I think a mix of being a little sick and some good old fashioned depression hit me.

I have found out that my job may be in jeopardy - company is planning, though hasnt finalized, a merger for the fall - could be the end of my job. I survived 1 layoff in 2001 but think loosing 2 jobs in less than 2 years may be more than I can handle now - it is definitely de-railing my weight loss and exercise habits. I find it hard to sleep and am not getting to sleep until 4 AM or later and then crashing at the end of the day rather than going to the gym.

I found myself having a big pity party last night thinking, oh if only I was married and had a 2nd income this wouldnt be so bad - I could survive a layoff without depleting the savings I just finally built back up.

So - I may be a bit quiet until I figure things out and hopefully hear soon one way or the other about the job.

Glad to hear about your successes.

Default hi

hey all! tomorrow is weigh in and i got the jitters. just got out of work and i'm wide awake and like you said LA, nowhere to go. i wish cupid would do something for me also.

libbylee- i often think the same thing about the 2nd income that is. i just bought a house. it was suppose to be a "we" thing and it turned into a "me" thing. so anyways i rented out a room to make up the difference(it's a big house) and this person is driving me insane, but i can't afford to kick him out.

grasshopper- i went to TOPS for a long time and liked it. then i switched shifts at work and i had to quit. there is a lot of support if you find a good group.

happy humpday!

Hey everyone. Well, the week's 1/2 over. Thank goodness.

Libbylee, I'm sorry to hear about the stress at work. I know that can be tough. I work for the state and due to budget cuts we had a reduction in force. Several people we let go & we didn't know for the longest time who it would be. You'll be in my thoughts & prayers.

Kathy, Good luck at your weigh in. Let us know how it goes.

LA, I'm up for chatting tomorrow night. I know what you mean about cupid. Problem is, I really don't feel like dating. I've been seeing a counselor for about a month & she tells me I need a social life. Well, duh!

Anyway, I've been eating better and getting a bit of exercise. So, that's an improvement. Just trying to plug along.

Talk to ya later.

Hi All!

Sorry to hear about your worries Libby Lee. I got laid off in May...not fun! Can't believe this is the third lay off I've gone through and I'm on 33. What ever happened to job security? Damn.

Didn't get to the TOPS meeting...they changed it to thursday. Goign to check it out tomorrow. Have a cardiac stress test in the afternoon. Not looking forward to that....I know that I'm overweight and out of shape but I really don' t need a lecture. Know what I mean? Just really scared that they're going to tell me it's something serious. Granted, my weight issue is serious enough but I'm really worried about blood clots. Not cool.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi everyone,

I've been reading your threads and I'd love to join you.
I'm 37, single, never married, from Southern Ontario. I have a 13 year old cat and a 3 year old dog, who both give me unconditional love, I read someone else posted that about their cats and I can't agree with you more. Whenever, I'm down and depressed, they are there to cheer me up and give a lick.

I have tried just about every diet program out there. I joined w.w. early this year, but quit last month as I've only got 10 lbs to show for it, and I decided to stop wasting my money. I got bored with the program and continually ate over my point limit, so there didn't seem any point in continuing.

Currently I'm trying the G.I. Diet, which is similar to South Beach, but not as restricting. You are allowed a lot of different foods, most fruits and vegetables, and whole wheat bread and pasta in limited amounts, skim milk, lean meats, no fat cheese. It's only my 2nd week, but I can tell that I have more energy. I believe I was eating too many processed foods before, as I was always tired. I'm not much of a cook and opening up a can of something or going through a drive through is just way too convenient. Now I have to actually cook, which I'm not crazy about. I cook one dish and end up eating left overs all week.

I have 40 lbs to lose and would like to get there by next summer, that certainly should be do-able. My mini goal is to lose 15 lbs by Christmas.
