Renee-thanks for pointing out that I missed some of my meals. I logged part of my meals for the day, but forgot to go back and enter the rest. I had a bit more to eat than a sub. I have entered the rest there now.

My exercise is a bit small today for walking. I need to give my foot a break for a while, so it can heal properly from a cut that I have on my heal. I keep walking on it and haven't been giving it the chance to heal. So I need to give it a break for a few days. Will need to find something else in the mean time.

We only got a dusting of snow here this morning on the grass. The roads were clear though. The temperatures remain in the mid-30s though. I still have to wear a few layers top/bottom when I go outside.

Would you like to plan another get together sometime? Perhaps at the end of February or early March? Perhaps on a Saturday. Just a thought.

20 Minutes

The minimum duration of exercise you need to perform 2-3 times per week before heart-health benefits occur. Aerobics, as well as resistance training, help reduce blood pressure, body fat, blood-sugar levels and associated heart-disease risk. Both resistance and endurance training have been shown to increase muscle-building hormones within the blood in women. Weight training also improves resting metabolic rate and body fat utilization, making weight loss easier. In patients with established heart disease or chronic heart failure, resistance exercise has been associated with improved outcomes.

I think 25 Feb will work. Yes, we can get together around noon for a light lunch. That would be great! Something exciting to look forward to now for February.

We only saw a few very small flurries today, but nothing much. Nice bit of sunshine this afternoon. I bet we will get another snowfall before the season is over.

Well, this is the last night for my outdoor Christmas lights to be on. I will need take them all down tomorrow evening. I am sure the neighbors will appreciate that. Well according to my husband anyway.

We got about 1 1/2 inches of snow. It's going to be warmer today so I think it will mostly melt away.

It will be great to see you, Mark and of course, Jack again!

Have a great day!

For our visit, it will just be Jack and I for now. We look forward to seeing you again!

You got more snow?!? I bet it looked pretty. We put out a new bird feeder after our last big snow, but since the snow melted, the birds are pretty scarce. Perhaps with another big snowfall they will come back.

How has your new exercise videos been working out for you? Have you noticed any difference in your flexibility or your body tone? I didn't have time to exercise tonight. We went out car shopping this evening. Hope to get a second car this weekend. Yes, we haven't got one yet. We put off looking for a while, but my car needs some work, so it would be good to have a second car in the mean time instead of getting a rental.

Yes, I think my bones are feeling better with the exercise. I don't think I've been doing it long enough to get more toned.

It will be wonderful to see you and Jack again!

I'm happy to see it getting lighter earlier and darker later....Spring is on the way!

B Happy (B12)

It's frigid, and summer is tragically far away.
Before the winter blues get you, hear this:
Consuming foods high in vitamin B12 could keep you cheerful.

New research in BMC psychiatry shows
low levels of B12 are associated with
depressive symptoms like loss of appetite and sleep, and low mood.

One way to hit your daily dose,
eat 8 ounces of yogurt and a slice of Swiss cheese,
and believe you'll feel warm sand between your toes again.

Chilly here today too. I think I heard that you are getting more snow there this weekend.
I had to bundle up real good today to keep warm. Time to buy some new thermal underwear.
Mine are already wore out. I need some thicker layers.

I hope you have some success in the morning!! I hope we both see some positive results.

Hope you have a successful Saturday filled with sunshine.

Honor Thy Grocery List

A study published in Nutrition & Diabetes finds
shopping with a grocery list is an effective way to
reduce obesity-related medical costs.
Now, what you really care about:
The listers lost 8 more pounds over a year,
maybe because they could resist impulse buys
like two-for-one Oreos.

Down 1.6 lbs. I seem to be on track now. I don't get so hungry between meals.

Sam and Chris are having a Superbowl party tomorrow, and I'm in charge of the food. I think I'll order a party platter from Subway and make pasta salad and have chips and dip.

Cold here this morning at 14 degrees....brrrr

Have a great weekend!

Well, my team lost , but it was a good game. I think the Falcons went home after halftime! I ate too much too...need to get back on track today. I have a cold so I probably won't feel like eating anyway.

Have a good Monday!

You have been doing good with your eating and exercising. I don't think you ate too badly yesterday. I hope you recover from your cold soon. It is never nice to be sick. Glad you enjoyed your Superbowl Sunday even if your team lost.

I feel better today. Hopefully, tomorrow I will be back to normal. Hope you have a terrific Tuesday.

Advice for making it easier to eat well.

Don't skip meals.
Some people think skipping meals will mean lower calorie intake throughout the day.
But skipping only makes you more likely to snack and overeat at the next meal.
Eat only your favorites.
When helping yourself to starchy foods, don't load up on a little of everything which may end up being a lot.
Instead, select only the few that are you absolute favorites.

Make just a few changes.
Some people get so hung up on changing everything about their diet in the New Year
that they end up failing quickly and getting discouraged.
This year pick just one thing to work on (for example, three servings of veggies a day).
And once you've mastered it, pick a second goal.
