Good morning to you all. It is very nice this morning but we are expecting thunderstorms by mid morning.
I had a waxing appointment yesterday but had to cancel because Jack called and needed me to take him to the workman's comp doctor. A huge pressure hose got away from them and hit one guy smack in the face, knocked another against the wall and he hit his head and whacked Jack over both hands. They thought he had broken at least one but it just ended up being a deep bruise with swelling. The swelling is down some this morning but it is still very sore on both hands. He is on reduced duty until he gets cleared on Friday. So, I just rescheduled for next week.
I have the upstairs to finish up today and help Jack put the upstairs new smoke detector in then I am done for a bit I guess.
Maggie: This is how it was explained to Jack when he started his Social Security. When a spouse dies, the living spouse may either continue with their own social security payments or may take half the deceased spouses but cannot have both. So let's say Will's was $1200 a month then you could draw $600 of his. But, if yours is say $1000 a month, then yours is more so you would continue to draw your own because it is larger. Now in my case, I would take half of Jack's because it would be larger than what mine is as I didn't work all the time just on and off. They absolutely don't let you draw both. You have to decide on one or the other.
You all have a good day today. I am going to knit for awhile then get breakfast and get upstairs.
