Doing It This Time D*mnit! Fall 2015

Hi all!!! I have decided to try to start up a totally new thread/group here. I have spent some time glancing through other groups and threads, and it is so hard to just jump in there and try to join, meet everyone, etc... So a new group it is! I will start a new thread here weekly.

About me - My name is Linda. I am 49 years old, and I live in TN. I have a 10 year old son, and will likely marry my beau next year. I have lost, regained, relost, and regained the same 40-50 pounds multiple times during my adult life. I am currently totally disgusted with myself - My clothes are tight, and I hate what I see when I look in the mirror. I had hoped to be at my goal weight and health when my 50th birthday rolls around this December, but that obviously isn't going to happen! Even though I am not going to reach THAT particular goal, I can certainly reach some smaller goals by then, and that is what I intend to do! Anyone want to jump in here and join me????

Please introduce yourself, and we will start some discussions and new friendships!Let's do it this time d*mnit!!!
:cheer2:

Dougsoldlady 09-23-2015 06:27 AM

OK, so as of this morning I am OFFICIALLY doing this!!! I have my meals and snacks all planned out, and I am planning to take a walk during lunch to get some steps in. I am so excited to know that soon I will be feeling better!!

Who is going to join me?????

Satine 09-23-2015 12:31 PM

I'm going to join you !!! :carrot:

My name is Carri, I'm 41 years old, married with no kids, live in Indiana and work at an insurance company...I have been trying to lose all this extra weight for like 15 years now...SO frustrating ...however last month something clicked ...I started a plan on 8/10 and I haven't cheated once since then ...I am down 19lbs since that date and am REALLY wanting to do it this time ( damn*t lol ) ...and I was looking for a group on here to join again, so perfect timing.

I plan all my meals in a week advance ...dh also eats the same way I do which helps...I'm a diabetic so I follow a lower carb eating plan ...it's really the only well I can lose well...

Today I'm having :

B - half whole wheat english muffin with a sausage patty and slice of cheese
L - ham roll ups ( just lunch meat ) with cottage cheese
S - few wheat crackers and peanut butter
D - pork stir fry

Hope you have a great OP day Dougsoldlady ... :)

love2b150 09-23-2015 12:44 PM

My husband just brought my treadmill in the house yesterday and my plan is to jump on it tomorrow, though I may make an effort today since I am now off work tomorrow. Today is also the first day that I have ate like I was supposed to (so far) in a long while. I also want to be at my name goal by my 50th birthday in April. I actually got down to 152.8 on 12/1/14 and then I guess I got to cocky and here I am again. Let's do this ladies. :)

today's meals

B~ 2 egg omelet with bacon and cheese, grapes
L~ taco meat with taco shred cheese and mango peach salsa, spinach, grapes
S~ popcorn, grapefruit
D~ stir fry chicken with mango peach salsa, green beans

Satine 09-23-2015 12:49 PM

Welcome Rennie !!!! Look forward to getting to know you ...I know we can all do this !!!

Carri

KateB 09-23-2015 01:00 PM

I will jump in also.

I am 49 yr old. I will be 50 in May and I am determined to be at my goal weight by then, if not before!

I have been married for nearly 26 years (Anniversary in Oct.) I have two "children". My son is 25, married, and has the two most beautiful children I have ever seen! (Spoken like a proud Gma!) Rylan is 4 1/2 and Tayla is 9 weeks. I have 22 yr old daughter. She just got her RN degree and is working at a hospital in the med/surg dept, but also floats to ER and OB. She LOVES the ER! She is also taking classes online to get her BSN. She is engaged and the wedding is set for June 10, 2017.

In July I started the WeightNot program and it has been working for me, even better than I had hoped. For the first time in 20 years I feel like I can reach my goal weight!

love2b150 09-23-2015 01:02 PM

Thanks Carri, I just looked at the before and after pictures of some 3FCers and all I can say is WOW! What a great inspiration. I only hope to look as great as they do. I know it's gonna take work work work :)

love2b150 09-23-2015 01:04 PM

Yay Kate, glad you're here :)

Dougsoldlady 09-24-2015 07:31 AM

Oh, I'm so excited!!! IT'S PEOPLE!!!!!!!! Welcome my new friends!!!

Dougsoldlady 09-24-2015 07:40 AM

Satine - It looks like you are doing really well on your plan so far! I know that I should try to cut down on carbs (even tho I'm not diabetic). I certainly do better when I eat a higher protein diet. What do you put in your pork stir fry?

Hi Rennie!!! Jump on that treadmill!!! I have one too, but I don't use it nearly as much as I should... You are gonna MAKE that goal by your 50th birthday!!!!

Hi Kate! What is the WeightNot program? Haven't heard of that... You are gonna make your turning-50 goal too!!!

One day down, and starting this day. It's going to be a stressful morning, as I have to go to court over an issue with my ex... Will try to avoid stress eating for lunch... Yesterday I stayed within my calorie limit, but I came up a bit short on my step goal and my sodium intake was too high. (Processed foods...) But I am determined to do better today!!!

I hope everyone has a great day today. Hope to see others jump in and join us because we are gonna KILL this!!!!!!

love2b150 09-24-2015 09:25 AM

 DougsOL I hope the day isn't to stressful. Just TRY to think of us here a little and yours (our) goals and no stress eating. We ARE gonna do this together  I got on the treadmill yesterday. My book said walk 20 minutes but I did 31 trying to get up to an hour again at a good speed and incline. :) Great job yesterday :high: I know processed foods and the sodium is a killer, smh. Hope your day goes well

Well I ate properly yesterday even hit the treadmill a day early (said I would start today). I have decided to do the Dukan Diet again. I did it back in August 2011 I recorded my meals on MFP so I went back and wrote then down. I did well on Dukan in the beginning then I think I hit a plateau or I just got bored or like normal for me I just had more off plan days than on plan and quit. Let's hope I can get it all back this time and get this weight off. I had a great whoosh ...

09/23 ~ 176.5 (-0.7) 1.5 miles, 31:19 minutes, 3.5 incline, 2.5-3.0 speed, did a little 3.2 but thighs started to hurt
09/24 ~ 172.8 (-3.4)

Satine 09-24-2015 09:52 AM

Morning Ladies …well I had my first “cheat” meal last night since I started on plan August 10th …I was about to go a little crazy and I thought well after 6 weeks on plan I deserved a little treat …dh wanted pizza and that is what I’ve been craving so we got it…I had cheese pizza, thin crust …so not as bad as I could have been, haha …it was good but today I’m bloated and regretting it …I just realized I was being too strict and thought I needed something …plus my body probably needed it to keep it guessing.

So today I’m back doing what I do …I follow a lower carb plan, I usually have between 50-60 carbs per day …which is pretty low but it keeps my blood sugar numbers in check and helps me lose fairly quickly…right now I’m averaging at least 2-3 per week, but I know that will probably slow.

Dougsoldlady – I didn’t end up having it last night ( as you see above ) but tonight I’m going to and I’m using along with the pork strips ( I just cut up a tenderloin ) : mushrooms, baby bok choy, bean sprouts, snow peas and water chest nuts …plus a low sugar teriyaki sauce I found. Good luck at court, hope it goes well for you.

Rennie – I’ve read up about the Dukan Diet before …and I thought about it too. Good job on getting on the treadmill, that’s where I am lacking…I can normally keep my food in check but not much of an exerciser …haha

Hi KateB !!!!! :)

Hope everyone had a good “OP” day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

love2b150 09-24-2015 11:07 AM

Carri, I had 4 slices of pizza on Monday night I think, thin crust with 4 meats and a cinnastick. My son ordered Dominos. It was a great treat but like you said the sodium, oh my. And 6 weeks and no cheat :bravo: to you :high: I only hope to last that long. I have to get through this day (one day at a time ;)) I am typically good about the treadmill once I get started and since it's in the house now I have no excuse. :) What brand is the low sugar teriyaki? Oh and I would love to have you do Dukan with me so let me know if you decide to give it a try :)

Satine 09-24-2015 11:22 AM

Hi Rennie ...I'm not sure of the brand, I mainly shop at Whole Foods and I'm thinking it might be their brand, which I think is called Whole 365 ...I'll have to look at it tonight ...

Carri

KateB 09-24-2015 11:36 AM

Good Morning!!

Ok after looking this over I realize it go rather lengthy...Sorry!!

Great to see you here Rennie!

Carri I have found over all low carb plans seem to work best for me. I also feel better all the way around on a LC plan.

I had the strangest dream last night. A food dream. More like a food nightmare. I dreamt I was driving my car, with a bottle of hershey's syrup and a cup of soft serve ice cream. I had some how managed to cram the soft serve ice cream into the bottle of hersey's syrup, I then took a big swig out of the bottle. I then thought What the H*((??? This isnt on my diet. I drove around in a panic. Then decided I would drink the whole bottle and them make myself throw it all up. Iny my dream I was COVERED in melted ice cream and hershey's syrup. I woke up before I finished the bottle.

Many years ago in my late teens and early twenties I did some binging and purging, but I havent even thought about it since then. I don't know where this freaky dream came from.

DougsOL I will tell you about WeightNot. It is basically a low carb, low calorie diet. It is also low fat...sort of. They have 2 levels of plans depending on how much weight you have to lose. I am on the faster (albeit more expensive) plan. The program boasts of results "similar to bariatric surgery", 1/2 to 1 pound per day.

There is no grains, dairy, no processed foods, sugar, artifical sweeteners (though you can have Stevia as it is a natural zero calorie sweetener.) You weigh all your portions. You have 3 meals a day, no snacking.

The first week is a "Detox" week. Two days of fasting and drinking their Detox shake twice a day. I am not going to lie....the Detox shake was pretty icky!!

The next five days is small protions and two Detox shakes a day. They can be mixed with unsweetened juice and I used apple juice. Actually by the end of the week I felt like they weren't so bad. I think some of the reason for that was that I wasn't eating any sugar.

The next two days were Lipid loading days. Lots...LOTS of protien, vegetabless, avocados and nuts. Very large servings of protien

Then you move into the THINtesity phase. Which is where I am now. I will be in this Phase until I reach my goal weight. Six days a week mymeals look like this

B- Protien and fruit
L- Protien and Veg
D- Protien, Veg, and Fruit

The 7th day each week is what they call NutriPace

B- Protien
L- Protien, Fat (avocado, olives, nuts)
D- Protien, Fat (avocado, olives, nuts)

Along with this you take supplements. Mainly fish oil, Vit A, E, D lots od B vitamins there are some herbs like tumeric and I believe cinnamon to help liver functions and blood sugar spikes.

Onve you reach goal there is the maintence or THINsured phase. I have not done this yet and haven't looked ahead to see how they recomend eating.

You get weekly calls from a coach. Plus your coach is available by phone or email. If your coach cannot be reached for some reason (this has not happened to me yet) there are other coaches available.

The cost scared the bejeezes out of me. But when I broke it down it wasn't much more per week than I spent on my morning latte and muffin and my lunch from the local fast food joint. While the food that I do buy costs a little more than carby processed stuff, I eat smaller portions so there hasn't really been an increase in my grocery bill.

The other things that helped me justify the cost was the fact that I had seriously looked into bariatric surgery. I had completed all the requirements set by my insurance company and was ready to "set the date". Then hubby was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He had several complication follwing his surgery. Four hospital stays (not counting the one for surgery) three of those in ICU, three blood transfusions and nearly 60 days (though NOT consecutive)in the hospital. The though of an elective surgery, any more time in a hospital, and the fact that our savings was drained, as this took place from Oct through Jan and we had two deductibles and out of pocket caps met back to back, just seemed ridiculous. So I didn't have the WLS. I gained back the 65 pounds I had lost while waiting for the WLS plus another 20. WeightNot offered "results similar to Weight Loss Surgery". I knew what all the pre surgical requirements cost, doctors appointments, time off work, travel, the surgery itself. So even though WeightNot is expensive it was cheaper than going the WLS route. And so far it has worked!!

I know I sound like a damn commercial for the program, maybe because it is working so well for me. I started the program on July7, 2015 weighing 318.8 pounds today is September 24, 2015 I weigh 262.4 I have lost 56.6 pounds in 79 days. I had a week in August that we had a family emergency followed by a funeral and I was away from home and unable to prepare my own meals. I had to guess portion sizes and just make the best choices I could. I had a 3 pound gain during that week, it came off the following week. but I still am averaging a .7 pound loss per day.

If you have any other question I will be happy to answer them!

love2b150 09-24-2015 11:46 AM

Thanks Carri :)

Kate your dream is funny, especially since on the day I had the pizza, I also had two scoops of vanilla ice cream with a ton of chocolate syrup poured over it  You made me want some but I will be good and pass :)

Dougsoldlady 09-24-2015 12:37 PM

Court is over and I survived. Nearly had an anxiety attack (which is totally NOT like me). Came to work and ate the lunch I had packed (instead of driving through McDonalds and getting a yummy bag of nasty to gourge on). So this is a victory. I have a couple of snacks to get me through the rest of the day, and I have dinner planned. I will have time to exercise this evening, so I am actually looking forward to that!
Carri - I would be unable to be successful on any weight loss plan if I could not occasionally have a cheat meal. Sound like you were smart about it, so congrats! And your pork stir fry sounds delish!! I need to do more of tings like that.
Rennie - Way to go on jumping on that treadmill for that long!!!! I tend to get board on mine, and my back hurt when I am on it sometimes.. Seems like I read about the Dukan Diet once before - I will check that out again.
Kate - I loved your ice cream and syrup dream!!! At least you are having that in your dreams and not in real life!!! That WeighNot plan sounds really restrictive to me, but if you can handle that then that is great!!!! I just cannot restrict myself that much without losing my mind!

love2b150 09-24-2015 12:47 PM

DougsOL, glad court is over and NO anxiety attack  Great NSV with not going to McD's GO YOU :high:

Satine 09-24-2015 03:26 PM

yay ...I'm glad a few of us are doing lower carb together ...cause sometimes I need ideas lol ...

Kate - thats funny because I'm always dreaming about food and eating something I shouldn't ...I think that just happens when our subconscience wants something good that we shouldn't have, lol

Have a good evening everyone, I'll check back in tomorrow

Carri

love2b150 09-24-2015 04:55 PM

Carri, I just went on the Dukan thread and one post-er had a bunch of links to Dukan recipes on pinterest. I never used the site before other than when someone had a link and I wanted to look at it but it was full of great low carb recipes. Who knew? :) That might just help me stick to the Dukan Diet this time ;)

Dougsoldlady 09-25-2015 06:15 AM

Good morning ladies!!! Happy Friday!!!! (It is Friday, right?)

I met all of my goals yesterday!! Woo hoo!! I tracked all of my food, stayed within my calorie and sodium goals, and got over 10,000 steps!!! Hopefully I can keep that up with come consistency, but weekends are hard due to socializing... BUt I will do the best that I can.

Court again today for a different issue with ex. Hopefully I will not be as anxious this time since I conquered yesterday. I will have my lunch packed and with me, and I will be determined to avoid those golden arches!!!!

I hope everyone has a great day!

love2b150 09-25-2015 09:22 AM

Happy Friday DougsOL :), hoping for another good day for ya :crossed: I don't do a lot of socializing on the weekends but they do seem to be harder for whatever reason to stay OP. Hope you have good news when you return, great job on planning :high:

GM Carri

Well today only a 0.4 loss. I should kick myself because my son had popcorn and those of you that know me, know popcorn is a setup for a mess for me. The sodium is a killer. I did so well yesterday but my rings were tight this morning so I know that had to be it since it was the last thing I ate. Gonna keep is 100 today and after my check-ins I'm gonna get my walk in :)

Have a wonderful Friday everyone (I'm off today so you know I'll be back later )

Satine 09-25-2015 09:27 AM

Hi !!

Morning ladies …TGIF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cp::cb: This has been a long work week and I definitely need the weekend to relax …I had a good OP day yesterday since my pizza cheat on Weds …I thought it would make me want to have things I shouldn’t the next day too but amazingly I was able to get back on and didn’t really have any cravings…

I tend to have a lot of the same things daily, especially at work for breakfast and lunch …I did make the pork stir fry last night …it was really good…I think tonight we’re just having shrimp, maybe a salad …I need something easy.

Dougsoldlady – first off do you have another name we can call you by ? lol …and second I’m glad you got thru court okay…I know that has to be hard. Sorry you have to do it all again today …but it’ll be over by the end of the day and then you can enjoy your weekend.

Rennie – thanks, I’ll have to check out pinterest for some recipes, I always forget about that.

Hi Kate !!

Weekends used to be really hard for me to stay on plan but the last month or so I’ve done really well. I found this lower carb sushi at a local grocery store here ( Fresh Market ) that uses no rice and some other kind of soy paper I think to wrap it in …so that has helped because I’ve really missed my sushi. :T:T

I can’t wait to see what the scale does tomorrow due to my pizza night …hopefully it still moves down …if not I’m not gonna beat myself up about it cause I know it would probably be water weight that will come off soon.
I weigh every Saturday …when do you guys weigh ? I can’t do it every day it effects me too much, lol

Have a good day everyone. :grouphug:

love2b150 09-25-2015 09:41 AM

Carri, thanks for the reminder. I have these thin Asian wraps things that I bought, they are almost clear.(I wonder if they are what your sushi is wrapped in?) I wanted to use them to put my chicken, etc. in without having to use a tortilla shell eventhough I have the low carb, high fiber ones. I wanted to try these things to off set the additional calories/carbs. I made some oat bran muffins last night that are really good. I forgot the splenda but they are fine to me with just the nutmeg and the cinnamon. YAY YOU for not getting derailed with the pizza :high: I know that happens to me more times than a few :) but hopefully I'll make it through the weekend and have a wonderful weigh in on Monday with no UP :crossed:

Satine 09-25-2015 02:10 PM

Rennie - I don't know if those are the same or not ...those sound like those rice wrappers that people make spring rolls with ...right ?

These were thick white sheets ...I'll have to ask them when I'm there this weekend.

Dougsoldlady 09-25-2015 02:13 PM

Hi again all! Court went well. I handled it better emotionally. We have a few never-ending issues, so I am used to going to court. But he rarely shows up, so it threw me yesterday to actually see him there..

A group of friends is gettting together this evening after work, and I am really excited about it. We haven't done this in a long time. One of them got into town early today, so we ended up meeting for lunch. I tried to stay OP, but will have to avoid snacking so that I have calories and sodium left for this evening. The lunch that I packed for today will wait until tomorrow.

Carri - I'm Linda!!! Apparently this site doesn't show your signature line until you have made a certain number of posts... I need to try to find that low carb sushi. I LOVE sushi! I hope that your weigh in tomorrow gives you a happy number! I actually weigh myself daily when I am OP (I know, probably not a good thing to do).

Renni - Way to go on the loss!! Any loss is a good loss!!! I am the same way about popcorn - Once I start, I cannot stop until it is all gone. Like, all of it in the house.. Love it..

KateB 09-25-2015 03:05 PM

HaPpy FRidAy eVeRYboDY!!

Dinner Theater was awesome last night! Had a few minor infractions. (The veggies were buttered, and I had two bites of my mom's dessert, the steak was a bigger portion than I should have had, and I had a martini.) But mom and I had a wonderful time and even with my little extras I was down .2 pounds today!!

This weekend my daughter and her 7 (YES SEVEN!!!:dizzy::spin::fr::sp::twirly::hyper::yes:) bridesmaids will be staying at my house. Along with my son and his family. I will be cooking for a crowd and we will have a bon fire and a birthday party to go to, along with the wedding expo on Sunday. I will have to stay focused on my plan!

I woke up this morning and decided to take a ME day! I called into work, I have lounged around the house most of the day. I did clean out my dresser drawers. Now I am off to goodwill to donate my too bog clothes. I am also going to get a massage.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Dougsoldlady 09-25-2015 04:21 PM

Oh Kate, that sounds like a wonderful day!!!! I need to do that sometime too! Don't knock yourself around for what you ate last night - It looks like you made smart choices, and I don't think there is anything wrong with treating yourself sometimes! It sounds like you have a huge weekend ahead - Enjoy!!!!

Linda

Dougsoldlady 09-26-2015 08:05 AM

Good morning all! Happy Saturday! I am happy to announce that I went to the get together with my friends last evening, had a blast, and did not exceed my calories and sodium for the day!!!! Woo Hoo!!!! (I failed to get all of my steps in tho...)

Today will be a challenge. I will be going to Doug's this afternoon to watch the UT/Florida football game (GO VOLS!). I am going to encourage him to have OP football food, so hopefully I can be good....

Hope everyone has a super day!

Dougsoldlady 09-28-2015 08:14 AM

I have started a new thread for this week!

love2b150 09-28-2015 02:45 PM

Carri, you are probably right. They are on top of the microwave under stuff still in the un-opened package :)

Linda, glad court went well. :) LOL, I just told another post-er on another thread that popcorn and fries to me are the  Once I start I can't stop. But great NSV ... my son made the seasoned fries last night and each time I went in the kitchen I was gonna get just one, but then I would have had to have ketchup, so another fry and another, then a plate. I was so proud of myself that I didn't eat ONE :) I hope you did well at Doug's :crossed: You know we can take the week part off and keep this one going since it's only two pages and 31 post or the next one since you have already made it. Just a thought :)

Kate, I don't think I said good job on the .2 :high: You had a great evening out and a loss too :) Ah a message :) I've never had one.

Satine 09-29-2015 08:32 AM

Morning Ladies …well today is my 42nd birthday …hard to believe, lol …dh is taking me out to dinner tonight and after that we’ll probably do some shopping. I’m looking forward to my “eat anything I want” meal, but I know that tomorrow is right back on the low carb train.
Work manager brought in Panera bagels for my birthday …I’ll be nice and have one ( someone REALLY had to make me haha ), but I usually pull out a lot of the middle so not as much carbs ( in my mind ).

Rennie and Linda – I was thinking the same thing about the thread, we can just let it go on for a few pages if everyone wants

I’ll get back to posting my daily good tomorrow since I’ll be back on …have a great day everyone !!!!

Dougsoldlady 09-29-2015 10:29 AM

OK, so we will just continue on with this thread then! I added a note to the other one. I don't know if there is a way for me to rename this one to remove the mention of the week...

I got back OP yesterday, but really struggled with hunger all day long. I chewed a LOT of gum! I'm thinking that I did not eat enough protein for breakfast, and that may have thrown off my entire day. I met my goals for steps, tracking, and calories, but I BLEW the one for sodium. Canned tuna killed that. Really trying to improve on that today.

Rennie - Great job on avoiding those fries!!! Fries are also a weakness for me. I am used to sampling a few of my son's fries when I get him fast food, and then I finish off what he doesn't eat. (As he gets older, he is more likely to eat everything himself. This is a good thing for me!)

Happy birthday Carri!!!!!! I hope that you have a wonderful day!!!!

dcapulet - I hope that you see that we have switched threads. Please join us!

Linda

Terra1984 09-29-2015 11:37 AM

Hi Guys and Gals,

Can I join the thread?

love2b150 09-29-2015 02:14 PM

:bday2you: Carri  enjoy :hb:

Linda, my daughter wanted fries the other day from McD's I told her she should have road with her brother instead of me. I can't handle THAT smell in my car right now :D ... Linda, You can ask the moderator to change the name for you on your thread to whatever you want to change it to. And then you can close the thread that you don't want to use anymore. Jennifer 3FC or Suzanne 3FC are the two moderators to PM that I know of.

Hi Terra, welcome to the thread. How have you been?

dcapulet

Well I had another good day on the Dukan Diet Attack Phase and loss .5 down to 169.8. I'm happy with that. Today is supposed to be my last day on Attack and tomorrow starts Cruise. A co-worker wants to give the Dukan Diet a shot and I told her that I would start all over with her when she starts.

Dougsoldlady 09-30-2015 06:32 AM

Yes Terra!! Just jump right in!!!

Good morning all. Monday is over - Woo hoo!!! Just not a fan of Mondays. And my Monday was weird. At lunchtime a dear friend of mine, who is in the hospital, sent out a message that a nurse had treated her badly and she was inconsolable. (Long story about her health issues and needs..) I felt led to go sit with her and help her deal with the hospital, so that's what I did. Unbelievable how she was treated, but it all worked out okay. Kept me from snacking in the afternoon!

I did well OP yesterday - Met my steps goal (with some extra effort), tracked all day, and met my calorie and sodium goals. Time for a new day!

Rennie - Way to go on kicking Dukan butt!!!! I don't think that I have been on here long enough to have PM privileges..

Where is everyone else???????

Morning everyone …so I’m SOOOOOOO sick today, still full of dinner and dessert last night …I ate way too much and I still feel full this morning …haha …but hey, it was my birthday so what are ya gonna do ? :D:lol::lol:

You know something I’ve noticed ? and this might sound odd …but the few days I was off plan and eating sugar ( which I hadn’t done for six weeks ) and white simple carbs, I started getting aches and pains back that I noticed were totally gone when I wasn’t eating those things …I really think it’s the sugar …I know everyone says it’s so bad for you, but I’ll still have occasionally, but I do think it makes a big difference in how I feel …I mean joint aches are back that I really shouldn’t have at this age ( well maybe have some due to extra weight maybe ) …but I’m glad to be back on plan today to get back to feeling better again once it all gets out of my system…although how I’m feeling right now I’m not sure I can eat today, haha :barf:

Linda – I’m like that too, if I don’t eat enough protein at breakfast I’m hungry all day and struggle …great job though on getting thru the struggle and still meeting most of your goals…I’m bad at the sodium thing, need to cut it down, sometimes I get some swelling in my ankles at the end of the day …thanks for the birthday wish, I had a good one. :hat:

Terra1984 and Dcapulet – welcome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :welcome2:

Rennie – thanks for the birthday wish …glad you are seeing success on the Dukan, I hope your coworker does join you, always so much more helpful to have a partner to keep you accountable.

I know I’m gonna struggle today and the next few days after being off for basically 4 days …I just hope I don’t go thru sugar wdl again just for those few days off, but we’ll see …if I do, I’ll get thru it …did it to myself, haha

I don’t have food plan today yet, need to go to the grocery store, and work over at work …just thinking about them both is stressing me out…talk to you all later … :grouphug:

I am thinking I shouldn't weigh myself this Saturday either ...I think it would just cause me more stress because I'm probably gonna be up some pounds due to these last four days, and I need to just focus on getting back in the groove

Oh no!! Are we losing people????? I guess that I really need to figure out how to get the name of the thread changed.. Will look into that.

I did so-so OP yesterday. I tracked all day and met my calorie goal, but I fell a bit short of my step goal and blew the sodium out of the water... But today is a new day and I will nail it all today!

Carri - I have read about others who have said the same thing about the way that sugar makes them feel. If you are able to identify something that makes you feel bad and are able to limit it in your diet, that is great!!!! I don't eat tons of sweets and sugar, but I do enjoy some.. So what did you have for your birthday dinner?????

Where is everyone?????

Morning All ...I had a good OP day yesterday, was able to get right back on the horse, so to speak. I think it will take a few days to actually feel good again but I can do it.

Linda - We went to Olive Garden for my birthday ...normally we go to a fancy steak house or something but all I was craving was CARBS !!! pasta and bread, I had to have it ...I ended up getting their fetticini alfredo and by the time my entree got to me I had eaten so many breadsticks I could barely eat, haha ...I finished off the night with chocolate cake and ice cream ...mmmmm, it was all good ...but now I'm back on ...I won't have another "cheat" meal until our anniversary, which is the first week of November.
I also way blew it on the sodium yesterday, had chicken wings ...I'm still thirsty from all the salt

Hi Rennie and Kate, and everyone else !!

And Happy October !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this month !!

A couple of the girls here at work want to take me to a belated birthday lunch, we are going to a local mexican place ...I'm just gonna get the chicken fajitas probably and eat them without tortillas ...or maybe one corn one ...either way it'll be tasty and free, lol

You all have a great day !!!
