gdeann 08-14-2003 12:16 AM

Shelley, Debbie and Sherry: I hope you guys can get back into the swing of things soon. Sounds like all three of you are having **** week!

Sherry: Loved the bed bugs on the other thread. Allison sings the song every night!

Ramona: From what I can tell of your pictures, it looks like your hair is the correct texture for the paradise. It's really cute and updated! Good luck!

Carol: Do you have your church picture back yet?

Do any of you watch Big Brother????

Titan Card Fan 08-14-2003 05:15 AM

Another quick update. The appeal for the return of the girls has been filed!!!! I think my 33 years in state government finally paid off as I had some idea how to interpret the system. One thing for sure they are getting the idea we are not going away quietly.

6 more days and I'm off to Tennessee! So far I have plane tickets, rental car, a long list of properties to see, and looking forward to meeting 2 sweet people. We do need a meeting place. As far recognizing me, that will be easy. I'll be the tired one with a Cardinal t-shirt. Figured there will be nobody else around with that!

Carol101 08-14-2003 07:00 AM

Good Morning Floozies!!!

WITHIN YOUR REACH

Don't let the need to have whatever comes next impair your enjoyment of whatever is now. Instead, let your gratitude serve as a gateway to the abundance that is all around you.

The way to stop needing anything is to be sincerely thankful that you already have it. That may at first sound strange, until you stop and consider what's happening.

As long as you put your energy into needing something, that energy is working against the reality of you ever having it. Yet the more you persist in being thankful for it, the more real and available it becomes for you.

Rather than longing for things to be a certain way, find value in the way things already are. Move in whatever direction you choose, while being fully appreciative of where you are.

Know that somehow, in some way, what you seek is even now available to you.

Let go of the need and let your heart be thankful. It will open your eyes to the reality of abundance already within your reach.

Have a great OP day!!!

Love and hugs
Carol

FLOOZIE ALERT****FLOOZIE ALERT!!!!!!!!

Jennelle, Jeanne, Vickster, Cheryl, Doni, Dee*********WHERE THE HECK ARE YA?????????

Deelite 08-14-2003 12:11 PM

Here I am Gayle. I am so happy that you decided to take the painting classes. You have talent so why not develop it more and enjoy life.

Happy belated anniversary to you Debbie and James. I hope that you enjoyed each other. I am glad that you are blessed with such a wonderful husband.

Happy belated anniversary to you too Dhelley and Mike. I hope that you enjoyed your day. Sorry to hear that school is so stressful.

Dee I am keeping your family in my prayers. We know that the babies should be with your loving family. When you see Sherry and Debbie give them a hug from me.

Ramona I also think that you would look good in the paradise haircut. Go for it. It will be a nice change. How are you hanging in there?

Carol way to go on the weight loss. One more pound is good. Better to lose than gain. It all counts in the end.

I debated about posting this but I am going to. I am such a downer sometimes. I hate to post negitive things and there has been so much. I just feel that my heart is breaking because this touch so close to home. One of the neighbors on our block, a friend of Dez's skateboards in front of our house daily. He is 17,blond and really cute. happy go lucky type of kid. Gee this is hard....I don't even know if I can go further before I compose myself. Ok here it is. When we were gone on the weekend he had a fight with his girlfriend and shot himself. The neighbors are all very close here. We have parties all the time. When this happenned early sunday morning alot of the neighbors came out to see what was going on. Ken next door was just bawling because he heard the shot and over heard the cops saying it was Steve. He died. Everyone is so shocked. I think it was just in the heat of the moment that he did this. He wasn't depressed. This is tough for us because Dez was so close, three times attempted. She isn't even home to go to his funeral. She use to walk home from school with him. That is two of her friends this year that killed themselves. The family can't even stay in the house. I just feel their pain. Please pray for their family. It is just so sad. His prayers are today and his funeral is tomorrow.

Sorry for the downer but I know that you will understand.

bootwoman 08-14-2003 12:27 PM

Dee, what a tragically sad time for this young man's family and friends. I am so very sorry you are having to go through such pain and I will remember this family in my prayers.

ShelleyM 08-14-2003 06:59 PM

Dee-That is absolutely horrible. I am sending prayers your way.
I hope the power outage hasn't affected you.

Ramona-I still didn't get the attachment. I don't know why I would be able to get the one, but not the others. Did you send breathless differently from the rest?

Sherry-Did your motivational talk to yourself help today? I am still buried under. I am so stressed that I ate 3 twizzlers at school. I'm not sure how many points it was, but I'm counting it as 3. I think it's really only 2. Another thing, I haven't gotten my period yet this month. I think the change is starting to happen. That might be adding to my stress load (or a least my depression.)

gdeann 08-14-2003 11:57 PM

Hi girls!!!!

Shelley: I'll be say'n a little prayer for the "period fairy" to come visit you!!!! You can keep her, when she's around here, I'm a grouch!

Dee: How's Dez coping? Did you go ahead and tell her since she's gone? My heart is heavy feeling for that young man and his family. Did you guys suffer through the power failure?

Titan Card Fan 08-15-2003 03:59 AM

Sherry & Debbie: I'm assuming that the Alabama grill is still at Opry Mills. Lets meet in front of that some time between 4 and 4:30. I'll have my cell phone with me. That number is 217-899-9947. I'll be wearing a Cardinal t-shirt!

For anyone else, I would love to chat with you, and you have the number.

Oh Shelley, trust me. Not dealing with periods alias TOM, is super fantastic!!!

Carol101 08-15-2003 06:07 AM

GOOD MORNING FLOOZIES!!!

Dee: How devastating. My prayers are with the family!!! I hope Dez will be okay when she hears...

Hugs to you and yours as well.

UP TO YOU

One way or another, you will get something accomplished today. Exactly what you get accomplished is up to you.

The hours of this day will go by, no matter what you do. What you get from them is up to you.

The world is filled with challenges, frustrations, joys and opportunities.

What you make of them is up to you.

Some of the people around you will praise you and encourage you, others will curse you and oppose you, still others will ignore you.

Yet the way you respond is completely up to you.

You can hide away from life or you can dive into its glorious richness.

Some people will help you, others will hurt you, yet no one can live your own unique life for you.

The way you experience this priceless gift of life is now and always up to you.

Have a great OP day!!

Hugs & Love

Deelite 08-15-2003 09:32 AM

I am just getting ready to head out to the funeral. Pray for me that I have strenght getting through it. Pray for Steve's family too. Dez was the first one to tell me. She is 2000 miles away. I guess that is how quickly news travels on msn.

Dez was caught in the power outage. She was right downtown about to take a subway. They had to walk 6 miles back to the house. She said it was crazy. Rush hour no traffic lights and no transportation unless you have your own car. Lots of people walking and trying to stop traffic to get accross. We tryed calling her but the cell phones were out. We reached the house number and the aunt said that she did here from the kids and they were ok. Dez called when she got back in. Thank goodness with all this heat and no electricity the family she is staying at has a pool.

Well time to get ready. Send me strenght. This has been very difficult. I am having a hard time sleeping because it just keeps going over in my head.

Hope that I take everyones sorrows today and bury them.

ShelleyM 08-15-2003 06:07 PM

Dee-I am sending more prayers your way.

Sherry and Debbie-You will appreciate this. My principal emailed me and asked me what is wrong, I don't seem to be myself. I told her that I am just snowed under just like everyone else, and can't seem to get organized. Her answer was can someone else in the office help you? HELLO???? The others in the office are just as fed up and snowed under as I am! God forbid she get us more help! Any help that comes goes directly to the classroom. We are the last to get any at all. Even the clinic girl has to go to the classroom during the day for a reading group, which of course means guess who has to cover for her!
Thanks for letting me rant!! TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gdeann 08-15-2003 11:59 PM

Here's a pic that I'm sure will put a smile on your face. My mother went to the Senior center today for lunch, as she prepared to leave, this little guy was right by her car tire....on a busy street no less!!!! She had mud on her and was wet, so I'm assuming a dog had ahold of her and dropped her. I weighed her today and she is a WHOPPING 2 ounces!!!! I have a small hand and as you can see, she fits into it with room to go. Now if we can only keep her alive....any Floozies want to help out with the night time feeding??? BTW: Allison named her Meow.

Sherry 08-16-2003 10:27 AM

Good Mornin'

I know ya'll get so tired of hearing me say how tired I am....But I AM!!! I didn't post last night because after work, Wayne & I went and signed papers for the loan on the house. We got home around 5:30. I was so tired, I ate and layed around until I fell asleep at 10:00!! (Early for me!)

Today is ANOTHER Titans game.Debbie & I will be working another 10 hours today! We have to be there at 3:00. I'm going to do a little cleaning here today so I won't have to do so much tomorrow.(My only day off). :faint:

Dee,
I'm so sorry to hear about the young boy. What a terrible ordeal! Bless his friends & family's heart.Did you do ok last night? I was thinking about you. I'm sending my prayers.

Debbie,
Are you ready to work??? Heck, I'm not!!! Oh well, with us working together we'll make it somehow! Are ya'll getting the pool this morning?

Gayle,
Call me dumb!!! Here's a stupid question: In the picture of your new little friend....Is she a puppy or kitten? Sorry but I can't tell! What ever she is, I know that you'll take care of her!!! She's lucky to have a family that will nurse her back to health and love her!!

Shelley,
I know what you mean about work!!! I'm absolutely going NUTS!!! :spin: We had one child get on the bus that was about 5 years old.She didn't know her last name or where she lived. No information was on her!!! Our Principal rode the bus home with her to get info!!! Now is that STRANGE!! Send a new child to School and NO ONE KNOWS who she is???!!!! Damn!!! About the email from your principal, Why didn't she just ask you?! Yes, We need help too! Two people can't run the whole School!!!! And we don't even have a nurse! Oh well....maybe we'll BOTH get through this!!!!! ****...I guess we should laugh about it instead of getting stressed!! What ya think? :D

Titan,
It sounds great!!! I'll see you at Ala. Grill on the 20th between 4-4:30!!! Can't wait to see you!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Gotta go and start on this house........Have a great OP day!!!!!!

To all the Floozie's......PLEASE post!!!! The ones MISSING' IN ACTION: We miss you!!! Get your butts back here!!!!

Hugs........

gdeann 08-16-2003 11:22 AM

She's a baby kitty Sherry. I guess the pic is kinda dark. She cried all night long by the bed in a box, when I would get up to feed her, she would be quiet. Her last feeding, I left her in the livingroom. She cried...around 5:30 this morning when daylight started to break, she quieted down. It's 10:00 am here now and she is sleeping. Now explain to me how a kitty with her eyes still shut can be afraid of the dark??!!

I'll post more later, I'm trying to help Steve with some stuff so I can paint later.

I hope everyone is doing great today!

Sherry 08-16-2003 01:49 PM

DebbieA 08-16-2003 01:53 PM

Morning girls:wave:

Hope everyone has a great weekend planned, filled with family and friends.

Sherry......I'm excited for you and Wayne. Although I had rather have you buy a house up here close to me, I'm so happy for you. I knew things would work out for you, you deseve it!! I guess I'm ready to work the game today, is there anything else in life...LOL. Atleast we do get to work together and catch up on our talking. :gossip:

Titan......I'm looking forward to us meeting. The Alabama Grill sounds great.

Gayle....I'm so glad you signed up for those classes. You already have the natural talent, so the classes should be a breeze for you.

Dee.....It is so sad about your neighbor and for him to be so young. I know the funeral was hard for you and everyone that loved him. When is Dez coming home? My thoughts and prayers go out to the young boy's friends and family at this time of sorrow.

Carol...I'm still OP!! :cp: The weight is coming off slowly but maybe along the way this time, I will learn how to eat normally. You are doing wonderful, you're my hero!!!

Shelley.....I hope things calm down for you soon. I know what you mean about getting some help. I have a lady off on medical leave. They have send me several subs but it still makes my job hard. Surely things will get better for all us school people!!

Ramona, Cheryl, Jeanne, Jennelle, Vicki and Doni...Sending hugs your way. Hope you are doing OK.

Tomorrow me and James are going to buy our pool. Hopefully we can have everything ready for them to put it in next weekend. We have to cut a tree down and move a flower bed. My work is never done...LOL.

Love ya...deb

ShelleyM 08-17-2003 06:41 AM

Well, we are closer to getting the chickens out of the house! My DH and the neighbors were working all day on the chicken coop. I don't think it will be finished this weekend though. They are going to put an air conditioner in there, too and they still have the walls to put up. I guess they were working on the floor all day yesterday.

I stayed inside yesterday and worked on my spreadsheet for the school budget. I actually got things organized. Now I am just hoping that when I emailed it to my desk that it worked! I will find out tomorrow. If it did, I just have to file them.

Debbie-Good luck on your pool! Sounds like you have quite a bit of work to do to prepare for it. When do we get to come over and swim??

Sherry-I'm so happy for you! I thought you lived right near Debbie, though. How far do you live from each other?

Gayle-I thought the picture was a puppy until I read your post. How did it sleep last night?

Dee-I hope things start getting back to normal for you soon. I am still sending prayers your way.

Ramona-Have you cut your hair again yet? If and when you do, make sure to post a picture.

Love to all the Floozies, including the MIA's!!

Sherry 08-17-2003 09:29 AM

Mornin'

Well Debbie & I worked about 9 1/2 hours yesterday. My legs & feet are killin' me this morning! :( WHY AREN'T WE SKINNY?????!!

Shelley,
Debbie lives about 20-25 minutes from me. Not too far! It's all interstate so it's not bad at all.

I'm so excited about meeting Titan (Dee) Wednesday!!!! ;)

I'm spending the day washing clothes and working in the yard. I'll try to post again before I pass-out at bedtime!

Have a GREAT OP day!!!!!

HUGS...........

gdeann 08-17-2003 03:57 PM

Good luck with the poool purchase, Deb!!! You guys will love it!!!! Do we all get to come for a pool party?????

Shelley: My, you have some up-town chickens!!! Our chickens on the farm had no clue what air conditioning was. I bet with your heat, it is a necessity. BTW: The little kitty died today. She was just to tiny to be away from her mother.

Titan: Try to get those girls to behave when you see them this week!

Sherry: If my ears start burning on Wednesday, I'll know why!!! All three of you have fun!!!! Mybe one of these years we can have a FLOOZIE get-together!

We went to a pond tour today. We seen all kinds of lovely ponds from the modest to the very majestic. Now hubby is in the mood to start digging a larger/bigger/deeper hole!!!!! It's ADDICTIVE!

ShelleyM 08-17-2003 07:49 PM

Gayle-So sorry to hear the little kitty didn't make it.

Carol101 08-18-2003 07:13 AM

Happy Monday Morning Ladies!!!

Just trying to cheer us all up for the monday morning work week!

BETTER THAN YOURSELF!

Don't worry about being better than anyone else, for that will only get you resentment.

Instead, focus on being better than yourself.

Make today an improvement over yesterday. And when tomorrow rolls around, find a way to improve even more.

Comparing yourself to others will only lead to disappointment or arrogance, neither of which will be of positive value to you.

Instead, compare yourself to yourself and then you truly have something with which to work.

When you seek to become better than yourself, there's no one who will be threatened by that.

You are unique and beyond compare, so make the most of it.

Stop worrying about how you compare to others.

Put that energy to positive use by being the best you can be, and then by being even better than that.

Have a great OP day Floozies!!

Love & Hugs  :grouphug:

Carol

Sherry 08-18-2003 07:58 AM

Carol.........Thanks for the Monday Morning Motivational!! :)

Hoping All You FLOOZIE'S Have A Great OP Day!! :D I dread going in to work this morning....I'm as tired as I was when I went to bed!!

Later...........

Deelite 08-18-2003 01:36 PM

My pc is down so I am not sure how much posting I will be doing this week. Have to use Jay's when he isn't home...lol

Gayle sorry to hear your little kitten died. It was so cute and tiny. There are so many intresting ways to do ponds. They are so relaxing. It is a great hobbie.

Debbie so do you have all the prep work for the pool done? It is a good time of year to by a pool, they are on sale now.

Sherry don't let yourself get run down. Your doing to much. I know how it is to let things go. I am like you, but I kept doing and doing and it caught up to my heart. Take it easy.

Carol thank you for the daily messages. I alway look forward to see what you have posted.

Ramona when is it that Ben is leaving? Are you doing ok? Please post and let us know.

Shelley a chicken coop with air conditioning, lol that is so funny. Those are so royal birds you got there.

Titan enjoy your trip. I think that it will be a nice stress relief for you. Any more news on the babies?

Dez is home. She had a really nice trip. Steve's funeral was really sad. His sisters had a really hard time. It just made everyone cry more. Even the priest cryed alot. He knew Steve and his family well. Thank you for the prayers.

Larry is turning 40 this weekend and I am looking for birthday gift ideas. Does anyone have some suggestions? OF course his love is ME...lol no traveling. He also likes to golf. He is a member of a club so he golfs about 3 times a month. He isn't a really big sports fan where he needs to go to the games. He prefers to watch them in the comfor of his own home. Any ideas girls? I was thinking of a gold bracelet but no sure.

Hope that you all have a good day.

gdeann 08-18-2003 02:23 PM

Dee: How about a gift certificate for golfing? A subscription to Golf Digest? A new putter or club? I'll ask Steve, he's a golfer too. I purchased Steve a gold necklace a few years ago and he wears it quite a bit, I like your idea of a gold bracelet too. Just a thought....if you do wine kits, you have everything to do a batch of beer...maybe order him a beer kit???? You would only need some bottles or kegs and the caps which are hardly any cost.

bootwoman 08-18-2003 03:50 PM

Hi everyone. I'm here, just been really busy.
I did go and get my hair cut. I'm still tweaking the styling of it to suit my taste. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

I'm sorry I don't have time to post to everyone right now. I just wanted to send my love. Later all.

4myloves 08-18-2003 05:05 PM

I'm back!!

Had a really great week at my meeting in Hot Springs!! It's amazing how silly grown people (supposed professionals, at that) act when enough alcohol is involved! The weather was glorious while I was there.

Gayle--sorry about the kitten...:(

Dee--hope you're doing ok. So many people don't realize that once you've done something like that, there is no coming back. And so many times there aren't even any warning signs. I feel for your neighborhood.

Shelley--hang in there. Maybe some help will come your way.

TitanDee, Debbie and Sherry--hope the three of you enjoy spending time together!!

Hey Ramona!! Got humidity?

Hellos to anyone and everyone else I may have missed!!

Cheryl

Sherry 08-18-2003 09:05 PM

Titan,
Is Wednesday still on? Looking forward to finally meeting you!! We'll be at Ala. Grill at 4:30!!!!!!

Ramona,
Are you ok? By your post you sounded like you were either depressed or busy. Just worried about you!!! Hey...Post a picture of your hair!!!!

Gayle,
Did you sell the shot glass? When I went & looked today, I didn't see it. Chris collects them and thought I would see if it was gone.

Pool news :cb:

We bought our pool yesterday!!! We ended up spending alittle more than we thought to get a couple of extras.
We worked all afternoon cutting down the maple tree, which just happens to be the prettiest tree we have on our land. Sure looks weird without it too. I'll start tomorrow moving the cobble stones in the flower beds. Not much time, they are putting in the pool on the 27th!! :D

Sherry...Please get some rest, you sounded tired when I talked to you earlier.

Titan...I'm excited about Wednesday. Did you get my PM?

Carol...Thanks for all your motavation!!!

Shelley....Has things calmed down for you yet?

Gayle....Sorry about the kitten.

Ramona....I bet your hair looks great. I got mine cut about 3 weeks ago. It's really short but I love it...short and easy!!!

Cheryl...Glad you're back. We missed ya.

Dee...Is your pool an above ground or inground? We know where we are putting the pool, still talking about the design of the deck though.

It's late and I still have lots to do.

Love you guys...deb

gdeann 08-18-2003 11:33 PM

Hi Girls!!!

YIPPPPEEEE! Cheryl made it back!!!!! We missed you!!!! Please fill us in on all of the fun details!!!

Ramona: Did you already have the reunion? Maybe I missed a posting about it. Is the hairstyle working out better for you??

Deb: I'm so excited for you guys! I know you work hard for your money, it's nice to find something that, as a married couple, you can invest in and share. You will love it!

Sher: Ya, I sold it... But now I have a new mission...I will be on the lookout for shotglasses that Chris might like to add to his collection. I almost had a cute, cute cola soap dispenser for you!!!! The lady grabbed quicker then I did!!!!

Dee: Nice to see you post! Check in when you can!!!! Let us know what you decide to get for Larry. Are you having a beach party for him like he had on your birthday??

Well, I have been working on a club social. It will be a Hawiian-fest, with a scavenger hunt. Everyone is to dress in tropical clothing and all of the scavenger items are along that theme. We will also be doing a covered dish dinner. I was planning on several people so we could split up in teams, but when they passed the sign up sheet around this morning, it ended up with only 7 names! Two of which was ours! Steve and I are even going to try to fashion our very own coconut bra's!!! I can't figure people out, they complain if we don't get together for social, but then when we try, it's flop. Sorry to complain to you girls!!!

Carol101 08-19-2003 07:14 AM

OUT FROM YOU

You strive, struggle and fight to get things that you think will make you happy. And all the while, happiness is already yours to choose without the things, without the struggle, without the fight.

You place limits and conditions on your happiness, and tie it to things that do not last. And all the while, happiness is already yours to choose without the limits, without the conditions.

When happiness is conditional and dependent, it ceases to be happiness and becomes merely another chore, another thing to struggle for, another thing to lose.

True and lasting happiness is not a result but is a cause.

Let the happiness you seek flow out from you, rather than trying in vain to get it flowing into you.

Let the world around you be an expression of your happiness, instead of depending on it to provide you with happiness.

Do you want to be happy?

Then know that nothing is stopping you other than the limits and conditions you place on that happiness.

Let joy and happiness flow out from you. And the rest of your world will soon follow along.

Have a great OP day my Floozie friends.

Love and hugs
Carol

> Cleaning Tips
>
> Dirt:
> Layers of dirty film on windows and screens
> provide a helpful filter
> against harmful and aging rays from the sun.
> Call it an SPF factor of
> 15 and leave it alone.
>
> Cobwebs:
> Cobwebs artfully draped over lampshades reduce
> the glare from the
> bulb, thereby creating a romantic atmosphere.
> If your husband points
> out that the light fixtures need dusting,
> simply giggle and
> exclaim, "What? And spoil the mood?"
>
> Pet Hair:
> Explain the mound of pet hair brushed up
> against the doorways by
> claiming you are collecting it there to use for
> stuffing hand-sewn
> play animals for underprivileged children.
>
> Guests:
> If unexpected company is coming, pile
> everything unsightly into one
> room and close the door. As you show your
> guests through your tidy
> home, rattle the doorknob vigorously, fake a
> growl and say, "I'd love
> you to see our den, but Fluffy hates to be
> disturbed and the shots
> are SO expensive."
>
> Dusting:
> If dusting is REALLY out of control, simply
> place a showy urn on the
> coffee table and declare, "This is where
> Grandma wanted us to
> scatter her ashes."
>
> Painting:
> Don't bother repainting. Simply scribble
> lightly over a dirty wall
> with an assortment of crayons and try to muster
> a glint of tears as
> you say, "My grandson did this the week before
> his accident and I
> haven't had the heart to clean it."
>
> General Cleaning:
> Mix one-quarter cup pine-scented household
> cleaner with four cups of
> water in a spray bottle. Mist the air lightly.
> Leave dampened rags in
> conspicuous locations. Assume an exhausted
> look, throw yourself on
> the couch and sigh, "I clean and I clean and I
> still don't get
> anywhere."
