Good morning ladies,

I need to do a better job of time management over the next week or so. I do well with time management at work...and am only now behind because my development environment crashed and burned yesterday and it took me and another developer the better part of the day to fix it...and I lost a day or more of work. *sigh*

It's my "free time" I need to manage better. It's all good stuff and enjoyable...but between now and the time I get back from So. Cal...I'm just busy. Tonight, I'm taking my step-mom and her man friend to see a local production of "West Side Story" (one of my favorite musicals). I thought it started at 7, turns out it starts at 8, which will make for a late night (by my standards). Tomorrow morning, I've got to get up by 4:45 to get to the gym for a workout with my trainer. After work tomorrow, I've got to pick up Santa, then go home to pack up some food and clothes, and then go to my friend's house and feed and walk her dog.

Saturday, Santa and I are going to go to a friend's house for a bbq lunch and doggie play date. On Saturday evening, Doug and I are going to a friend's 50th b'day party. I've got an OA meeting on Sunday and after that, my step-mom is going to color my hair to cover up the grays. I really need a haircut too, and I'm not sure I trust my step-mom with scissors - she does a good job with color though. Also, I have to start walking/running more to train for the 5Ks I've got coming up. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things this weekend. :dunno: At least I'm not as busy as Happy is. :rofl:

Sorry ladies, no time for personals...I've got to get caught up with my work....which will involve more debugging the code to figure out what was lost, what can be salvaged and what I have to re-do from scratch. :faint:

Much love and many hugs,

ceejay52 07-16-2015 12:16 PM

Morning
Slept late which was good especially after this past week of work. I'm excited as I have an nsv to share. First of all my weigh in showed only a .4 loss but at least it wasn't a gain. My nsv is that I bought a couple of pair of pants last week that was a size xl. One was a crop pant but fit perfectly for long pants cause I'm short. And the other size xl fit also except they are to long. I'm doing a happy dance. :dance:

Michelle
I'd have to pass on getting up at 4.45 to work out. Glad you can do it.

Shad 07-16-2015 03:22 PM

Hi ya all,

Seem to have been moaning somewhat lately, however this is not such a bad project as projects go these days. Yes we are down to the wire and time is running out and we are all tired and working long hours. Hold on.... did I just say we?? Seems that at least one of us in not pulling their weight and spends more time on the cell phone and facebook than is good for the project. Things should be interesting in the next couple of weeks when said person, who has the worst people skills in the ENTIRE universe takes on a Train the Trainer course. Maybe said person will do the usual and back out at the last minute when the work is staring them in the face.

Added to that, we have the normal - we don't know what we don't know - and there are plenty of gaps in just about every area so I am running around sticking my fingers in the dyke trying to hold back the tides. Google it if you can't understand that one.

Yes I am working long hours, but I am getting more stressed about the mental conditions of some of the people I am working with rather than stressing about my own stuff. That's not under control either, but it is more under control that some of my co-workers. I don't think they realize what they have signed up for!!!!

Anyway - having read and inwardly digested all the news on this thread, you all seem to be coping well with out me and have Mother Happy to wave her wand and get people moving, and Annie feeding the hordes and Ceejay with the light and water, and Laura feeding the mind and the bookclub. So all is well with the world as Mel would have said.

Speaking of Mel, she is leaving messages for me on the computer. Yesterday I e-mailed a friend in Aus and when I started to type her addy, up popped Mels name, now these two addys are nothing alike. Then when I was accessing my ISP to retrieve a couple of messages that were taking a lot of time to download, there she was again. Maybe I should just send her a message?

Okay, gotta go. The joys of Managing Manufacturing (producing product) are with me again today, and I am determined to have the Operational Guide and the Overview done and dusted by the end of this weekend. Yep I am working at least one day this weekend - I will not have the doubtful joys of my fellow pod members so I might be able to concentrate on the stuff they don't seem to think they will need!!! I am becoming a psychoanalyst, counselor and confessor all rolled into this short, tubby package.
Sunday, I will get some exercise other than falling into and then rolling out of bed.

MyChoice2bfit 07-16-2015 10:16 PM

Hi Everyone, Tomorrow is Friday! I am in the home stretch. I will be on vacation Monday and Tuesday next week and when I go back I'll have emails and things but both my managers are out and it will allow me some breathing room to catch up those two days off.

I also had my review for fiscal year 14/15. We end our fiscal year June 30. All performance reviews are then done in July. I am happy to report that my review was very positive. Works like exceptional support, leader, steps up, simplifies complex issues, tackled, developed.....I am hoping that in October when we are told our ratings I will be given a 1 rating. Only 20% of the company gets rated 1 (the highest). I have always been rated a 1 and I don't want to break my streak.

This Saturday my hot air balloon ride is scheduled and I am very excited!

Shad--It sounds like you are working a lot of hours. The money will be nice when you get it but I know it gets old. Take care of yourself.

Hello to everyone else. I will now be posting and reading more. I also am putting my fitbit back on Saturday and back to using MFP.

miniDoodles 07-17-2015 05:45 AM

Early good morning girls :smug: we woke up to a beautiful rain @ 3:30 am. Dh is on 9 hr days all this week. His company's summer hours get the guys out of the factory heat @ 2:30pm daily Memorial day-September 1, instead of @ 3:30pm their normal 8 hour days. We haven't had rain for 2 weeks, so this is a blessing.

Our g-babes went home Monday. We lovedddd the Minoins movie, I liked it better than Despicable Me. There was a funny movie trailer for a cartoon about 'what our pet's r doing when we're gone & they're alone' :rofl: Plus the Star Wars trailer & a few others were enticing.. Sunday the boys fished w grandpa while Kylee & I kayaked. We were on 2 different lakes & I got the top of my inner legs sunburned where I forgot to put lotion :(

Monday I was @ Urgent Care after the kids went home, because the bee venom was still stinging w red streaks in my foot from when I got stung 2x between my toes near my flower bed wearing sandals the day before the g-babes came. I didn't want to spoil our 4 days w the kids so I took Benydryl & used cream & ice. The doc put me on 3 RX & I was groggy until Wednesday. Last night my foot was finally normal again :smug: :smug:

I have lots to read about everyone from the week :dizzy: I hope that everybody has a great weekend :cool: our temps r getting up to 94° the hottest we've had all summer. We r invited on a river tubing trip Saturday w about 8 more couples, but that's too hot for me. We'll b indoors w the AC on.

Laura.. I hope that where u live the tornado didn't touch down :hug:

Susie.. Your balloon ride sounds fun, I hope U share a pic here w us :D

Annie.. What brand/model Blu-ray DVD player did u choose, I was told they can play DVDs that have a scratch or minor defects. Our 3 TV'S r Smart LED & our DVD players r old models, we need to upgrade at least 1.

Chelle.. I like all your plans :D I saw W. Side Story & I agree w U, there r musicals that r always enjoyable because they are fresh w different actors.

I'm sleepy w all the beautiful rain, 'Thank You Jesus'. Our lawn & gardens will b beautiful again.

Hugs :hug: to Everyone I didn't say hello to yet. I'll b back ;)

Luv U, Dee

annie175 07-17-2015 07:51 AM

TGIF TGIF YEAH!! Wish you could hear my musical to that chant. lol

Peaceful evening. Watched another movie on our new DVD player. So nice. Fixed cold cooked shrimp with cocktail sauce for dinner. Made rice for C to go along with. Two loads of laundry washed, folded/hung and put away. Whew, then it was off to bed. Oh and filled in the polish on my toenails so I could wear sandles to work today. Fridays are jeans and flip floppy days.

This weekend will involve more shopping for the wedding/reception. Normal errands, grocery, maybe a pedi, Verizon to get phone updated software, to Shoe Carnival to see about shoes for me for the wedding<---just wanting a easy flat cause I am going to try not wearing my brace for that day. Yeeeee! Aldi's for things I can get cheaper than the grocery chains, hmmm, my day sounds busy. Sunday church and the afternoon free to do whatever, probably mop my kitchen floor before it gets too bad.

DEE....you must be really allergic to bee stings. Hope you are feeling better by now. I want to see the Minions movie, glad you are rating it high. What a fun life you lead.

SHADDIE...glad you came up for air for a few minutes. Take care of you and get your rest. Don't want you getting sick.

SUSIE...all the work you do for your job, no wonder you get rated #1, you certainly deserve it.

CEEG...yeah girl, good for you on the NSV. Woot Woot....

CHELLE...remember to take a down time for you time. Slow down and take a breather.

Hello to all, make it a great Friday/night and a wonderful "YOU" filled weekend.

Hugs sweet sisters.

annie175 07-17-2015 09:08 AM

THis stupid report. I am ready to quit this job over it, but know I cannot. I am miserable over it.

Laura705 07-17-2015 11:27 AM

Morning all. TGIF!!

Annie - Sorry the report is causing you misery. :hug: I should have touched up my toenail polish today because I wore sandals to work, but I didn't. :o I will definitely be getting a pedicure this weekend. I hope you find the right shoes for the wedding. You sound way too busy this weekend!! Hope Sunday ends up calm.

Dee - How are you doing with the immune illness? I've been thinking of you and hoping your meds are helping get you healthy again. Re the bee bite - my bf's mom ended up going to immediate care for an insect bite - she had a lot of swelling and pain. Turns out part of the stinger was still in her. She's better now, and is taking antibiotics. Your weekend with the grandkids sounded fun. The tubing trip sounds fun too - too bad it's going to be so hot. But won't being on/in the water help? We're getting heat today and this weekend too. Wish I could have sent you some of our rain - we got a lot of it last night.

Susie - Congrats on the excellent review. :bravo: I hope it pays off at raise time. :D You deserve it - you really work hard for your company. :yes: Wow, a balloon ride - how exciting! Take some photos for us! I would love to take a hot air balloon ride someday. Enjoy your days off on Mon/Tues.

Shad - Sounds like a pressure cooker there! But I'm sure you've experienced very similar conditions on other projects. It's just the mix of the circumstances and how the team handles them - individually and as a team - that makes each project unique. Hope your Sunday is restful. :yoga: Odd about Mel's e-mail addy popping up. Maybe you should send a message... I was wondering the other day how Jen is doing...

Ceejay - Great NSV! Looks like your area is getting high temps like we are. Keep cool!

Michelle - You sound awfully busy. I'm sure your weekend and next week will go by like a blur! :faint: Enjoy, but don't overdo!! Did you enjoy West Side Story?? I've never seen a live production of it. I wish I could do my own haircolor - save a bundle.

Happy - I hope the new pricing room arrangement encourages people to keep it tidy and organized. Honestly, it sounds like some of these people want to get their "do-gooder" points just by showing up and doing the least amount possible. It's almost like the scheduler has to spell out people who will do tasks like cleaning the back, the shop floor, etc., otherwise people think they're there just to sit behind the counter and ring up sales. I understand why you get so frustrated. What a bummer you missed the cancellation spot at the dentist. Hope another one comes up. Re our weather - no, we haven't gotten a lot of hot weather until now. It's actually been a very strange spring and summer. Unseasonably cool and a lot of rain. The foliage and blossoms on my veggies are great, but there aren't many actual tomatoes, and they aren't ripening. Our squash plant appears to be the same, but since this is the first time I've grown it, I don't know if it's where it should be. I'm sure everything would be doing much better with more sun and heat. Well, this weekend we're getting it!

Hello to Terra! :wave:
==
Nothing much to report. It got humid and rainy yesterday afternoon and evening. It was cool last night, so we didn't have the AC on, but this morning it was warm and sticky. I closed all the windows and got the AC going.

The admin is out today - getting ready for an apartment move next week. Don't envy her, but she will finally be moving to a better neighborhood, thankfully. And into an elevator building vs. the third story walk-up. It'll make a big difference for her as she has major medical issues and can't walk too much.

I'm working only a half day today. I have to shop for my book club food and beverages, mop the floors and get set up. You girls know from all my whining this week that I can't wait until this is done. Even though this weekend will be really hot, and I'll get cabin fever sitting inside in the AC, I'll be happy as a clam that it's over.

...and then I'll have plenty of time to begin dreading the colonoscopy coming up on Tuesday, LOL.

No other plans this weekend. Doubt I'll attack any of the outdoor projects because it'll be pretty hot...unless I get my keister out in the morning before it heats up. But then there's the skeeters to contend with. :dunno:

Okay, gonna quit rambling. Off to post and get on with the day. The hot items are mostly done - now to catch up on other work.

happy2bme 07-17-2015 12:29 PM

Hi all,

Well the report I got back was that the pricing people (who were ALL part of the initial conversation) responded back with less than enthusiastic results. Kind of like pouty kids. Geez you would think I climbed into their beds while they were sleeping and cut their hair off :rolleyes: This is seriously a group of stick in the muds who are happy to NEVER change a thing or make any improvements. One girl in particular spent the entire time complaining and it isn't even her area. AND we had already discussed everything she complained about in length the day before. I swear it is so disheartening. :( But there is a great need at the shelter and the animals need all the help we can get them even if the humans are acting like donkey's butt ends.

I pushed through last night to get as much done with the upcoming fund raiser so I can hand that off to another volunteer to help out today. I will pick up some things at the shelter, meet with S this afternoon and then tomorrow I will work all day at the shop. We are having a special one day sale to try and move some merchandise. I am working because everyone is freaking out about having to put in a discount in the register which is just as easy as ringing up a sale. :rolleyes: And then I am DONE with my commitments for the time being. I can turn my attention to some of the research I need to look at but that is on my own schedule. I can't wait. I need a break from the shop.

One of my friends who is from Chicago called yesterday - she is going to Chicago on Monday but she is staying until the beginning of August which is totally undoable for me this time around. :( She said she might be going again some time in September but not sure when. She is very involved in the church and that sets her schedule a lot. As we head into August it's time to make the plans for the last hurrah of summer. By Labor Day the weather turns delightfully cool. The days are gorgeous in the 70s but between sundown and sun up it gets rather cool and wet. The garden will slow down and start to peter out. I am finally getting tomatoes and I got a surprise cucumber that I didn't know was hiding under the leaves. Peas are pretty pathetic and the arugula is bolting. Not a good garden year but I guess it's pretty sad for most people.

Laura - oh boy - hosting a party AND a colonoscopy - you know how to live :rofl: But the good news is that by this time next week you will be able to make more fun plans. I saw how hot it's supposed to get. Oh yuck. I imagine Coal is not happy with this weather either - does he have a pool in the yard? What did you decide on for refreshments? I planted yellow summer squash 2 years ago in a separate big planter. It started out great, got lots of lovely squash blossoms and I got about 3 squashes. Then it pushed out fruit but it stopped growing and started to rot. I too didn't know what to do with it? I didn't over water or over feed it. Maybe I had a depressed plant? :shrug:

Shad - they say that those who have passed retain their energy E.N.D. - energy never dies - and that they try to communicate with us via electricity. I think old Mel is funning with you and letting you know she is still thinking about you. :D

Annie - sounds like you have a pretty busy weekend. Good luck shoe shopping - I hope you find something - it's always hard when you need something specific. When is the shower?

Dee - too bad you had to take a pass on the river tubing - sounds like it would be fun.

Ceejay - are you sweltering? I'll bet there's more of a demand for water too which will keep you busy at the plant.

Susie - enjoy the hot air ballon - sounds like fun and maybe a bit scary looking over that basket. :yikes: There is a hot air balloon event in Duluth in September that DH wants to attend. Hoping to get some great pictures. Is this just a solo ride? Don't forget to sing "Up Up and Away" by the 5th Dimension. :D

Let me go find some lunch and get productive.

miniDoodles 07-17-2015 01:32 PM

Dh phoned me @ 11am, having a terrible day @ work needing to hear my voice & we prayed, he said that Helped him... On Wednesday dh got awesome news @ his oncology appt. cancer, he's still in remission :angel: But he's lost 8 lbs. since February so I gotta start feeding him better :p more ice cream I suppose ;)

I'm taking a stress break from a customer order right now :^: I just ate some cheese w hard salami I bought @ Brennan's in Wisconsin :p on July 3 & eat supper from our garden all weekend. I'm going to make a spaghetti salad for me, using zucchini instead of pasta (I have a crank, veggie peeler that makes curly veggies). Dh will likely top off his salad pilling on hard salami & crispy bacon :D

I smiled about all your pedi's; because I always see more bee's following my painted piggy's around the garden. It was my fault I was stung because I should've wore clogs or sneakers :frypan: & I don't wear fragrance out there either.

Okay, enough procrastinating & lingering online. Time to work @ getting my job projects caught up.

Happy.. How young were u when u retired from your job, its sounding appealing to me right now... I'll look forwards to being 62 yrs. to retire but I'll have to work part-time probably forever it seems w this economy.

Terra1984 07-17-2015 01:35 PM

Laura ~ Hi, Yeah we made Breakfast in cooking class yesterday. Yeah I just wanted to make sure nothing happened to his package.

Annie ~ Yes Scott's package arrived safely. Yes I'm back on the wagon

Happy ~ Yeah Scott's package came on Wed.

diyana 07-17-2015 04:02 PM

No time to post...but I wanted to say to Dee that I'm so happy your DH is still in remission.

Love and hugs to all,

happy2bme 07-18-2015 09:29 AM

Good morning all,

On the run this morning, we are having a sale at the shop today and I am working all day. Going to be a long and tiring one for sure. I did hand off the fundraiser stuff yesterday so that is good. We also got good news from the insurance company - we had hail damage on our roof and siding from the tornado storm last year. We got a claim for the roof but they were not going to allow us anything but piecework replacement of the siding which would look very patchwork and mismatched on the weathered siding. After going through the motions, they decided it can't be matched well so we will be getting additional monies for that as well. :yay: This really answers our prayers - the siding up now is very cheap and was put up incorrectly. And the entire deck needs replacing because it too was built incorrectly and heaved up due to the intense cold of 2 years ago. Between the roof, siding and deck and front door we were talking repairs close to almost half the value of our house :yikes: DH was so bummed out. The insurance money covering a part of the cost sure will help in the best way. Thanks above for the help :angel: :D

To your question Dee - I was 57 when I was cut from my job and pushed into early retirement. DH had retired 2 years earlier. He was cut from his job a few months after his 25th anniversary with the company. He was 59 at the time. We were 61 and 57 when we moved up here and officially retired. The first year we were extremely conservative in our spending as we were living off our savings and a small pension from DH. He claimed early social security at 62. Thank goodness :crossed: the stock market has been holding well (despite what some naysayers moan about the current president ruining this country) so we are holding our own. We had equity in our homes and when we bought the home up here we downsized and purchased a house in the price range below what we had in equity so we don't carry a mortgage. We don't have kids and that saves us a lot of money - probably a key item that helps us and separates us from others who struggle later in life. We also both had pre-retirement savings specifically for health care coverage and that has been the saving grace. We pay RIDICULOUS premiums for health insurance coverage. Much more than a mortgage would ever be so we were able to use those savings to carry us through. The sad thing is that those monies were supposed to help with premiums for Medicare later in life but neither of us planned on getting cut early. We live modestly but we do enjoy dinner out each Friday and I hardly ever worry about what I spend. We don't travel because of the cats but I go to Chicago to visit my family a couple of times a year if I can. I'd say the biggest expense by far pre retirement is the cost of health insurance. Everyone I know who would like to retire early can't because they would deplete their savings. Even if they went to a part time job and still brought some income into the home. Obamacare doesn't help us much - the premiums are still high no matter what. Even with the high deductible plans. We are stuck. Stuck paying for those people who stick their hands out and get all sorts of freebies. :mad: Anyway, before I get on my soapbox, that's my 2 cents to your question.

My coffee cup is empty and a glance at the clock says it's time to get in the shower and get ready. I have to make a lunch yet and take that pile of old newspapers with me for wrapping items at the shop. Have a good weekend everyone, I will check back later.

happy2bme 07-18-2015 09:32 AM

Oh and Dee - please toss out the bacon and salami. The commercial stuff is full of nasty nitrates - not what you want to be feeding you or your hubby. Give him blueberries - or any kind of berry, cantaloupe or salmon instead. ;) Keep him healthy and in remission.

MyChoice2bfit 07-18-2015 09:39 AM

Good morning. I have a load of laundry in the washer, I just paid bills, I'm de-cluttering this office AGAIN--it seems to be a never ending project.

I will toss things out of the fridge today, clean the bathroom and then kitchen and hopefully get a couple more loads of laundry done. Then it will be time to get ready to meet my brother, his partners and their boys for a bite to eat before we head over for our 6:30 p.m. balloon flight! :carrot::carrot: DH will be taking it with me. We will be with 1-2 other couples.

I got the call last night that it was still on for today but with this heat (92 is the predicted temp today and we have a dew point of about 77 predicted...that means VERY humid (as it was yesterday).

Happy: I have been singing "Up, Up and away" all morning!

I saw all the posts about pedicures. I went and got one at lunch time on Thursday. I always feel better about myself when my feet and toes are pretty! ;)

Dee: Such great news about your DH's remission. Praise the Lord! I hope your foot is feeling better. My DH is very allergic to any bee stings. The site just swells and swells, so if he gets stung it's a trip to Urgent Care to get a steroid shot.

Annie: Your weekend sounds very busy but fun! I hope you find the shoes you want to find.

Laura: I agree with Happy....the party and colonoscopy....fun times! :D
Enjoy your pedicure!

Terra: Glad to hear you are back on the wagon. I climbed back on about the time you did. I'm on day 3. We can do this!!! Let's get this weight back off and start smiling when we look in the mirror.

Happy: So it sounds like your commitments at the shop will be finished for a bit after this weekend? I think it will be good for you to take a break.

Be careful to not give that time away....I tend to do that. I'll think, well, I could do it because I'm not doing that anymore. BUT, I'm changing that...I just keep saying, "thank you for thinking of me but no, I can't take that on, I already am committed to another project with no end date:...they don't need to know that the other project is me! :D

I figure that I am at this weight and size because I didn't say no to enough things that dull my senses, whether it be emotional eating, taking on so many projects or doing for others, that I don't have time to work out, cook well, rest, relax, laugh and pay attention to myself. Well, this girl is changing that. I don't have to save the world! BTW, I just wrote that all down on two cards, one to put in my purse so I remind myself when needed and one on the fridge, for when I show up there "looking" for something.

Michelle: Such a busy gal these days! But it sounds like you are having fun and enjoying your life. As you should.

Terra1984 07-18-2015 02:23 PM

Susie ~ I'm glad I'm back on the wagon too. We can do this!!!!!!!

Shad 07-19-2015 02:48 AM

Internet playing up. Only get in on odd occasions. Will have to talk to the landlady.

Can't stop

Shad 07-19-2015 02:51 AM

Think it has gone again. Nope this seems to be the only site that is still working. Facebook has gone again, Qantas is not responding. #$%#%^^$

ceejay52 07-19-2015 09:23 AM

Morning
This is the start of my 4 day week so I'm at work on a Sunday. ugh.
Had some chores to do in the yard yesterday plus washed my vehicle. Sweated through my clothes.
Been having trouble getting into fitday but they must have been doing upgrades. The sight has changed. I will like it once I get the hang of it.

------
Susie
I know that I am at my weight due to bad choices and emotional/stress eating. I've made up my mind that I'm going to follow my decisions whether they be good or bad. I need another outlet other than food to combat my stress. Hadn't figured that one out yet.

happy2bme 07-19-2015 11:46 AM

Hi all,

Was a waste of my day to go into the shop yesterday. We have barely any sales - it was a gorgeous day out and lots of activities around town so not many shoppers. And then after spending 9:30 to 5:30 on your feet constantly, you don't feel like doing much when you get home. DH grilled up some pork chops and made some rice-a-roni, I cut up some fresh vegetables and made frozen corn he wanted so we had a nice supper.

Today we are supposed to go to an outdoor car show. Part of it benefits the shelter. It's a nice sunny day out, hope it won't be too warm. Oh and 30 minutes after sunset there is a configuration of the moon (just a tiny sliver) with 3 bright objects - Jupiter and Venus - the 2 brightest "stars" in the sky typically and Regulus - a true star. It's low to the west horizon and sets below the horizon quickly after sunset so you have to catch it fast. Problem is we have tree lines all over that obscure the view so we get to see it for about 5 minutes before it disappears into the tree line. No mountains, hill up here for us to see either. DH went out yesterday in search of an open spot but he went out more than an hour before sun set and I didn't want to tool around for that long. He came back, picked me up and we raced over to one spot where I got a glimpse of a very large to the horizon sliver of the crescent moon and 2 of the stars. It was pretty incredible. We are going to try and catch it again tonight.

DH is calling me to show me to pick out colors for roof, siding and decking so I have to run. Will be back tonight. Enjoy your Sunday.

Laura705 07-19-2015 12:30 PM

Morning all. Sitting here on the sofa with my feet soaking in my foot spa. Just thought I'd soften my tootsies & scrub them with the pumice stone before going out for a pedicure. I didn't get out for a pedi yesterday & my usual nail place is closed on Sundays. I found a couple places on yelp that have Sunday hours, so i hope one of those will work out.

Friday’s book club was fine. Only six of us, which was fine by me. Only four of us read the book. But one of the women asked what it was about when we started discussing & in telling her the plot, we actually had a good discussion.

As for the food...it could have been called "everyone had the same great idea". Tortilla chips (3 of us), taco dip, salsa, guacamole, & mixed fruit (2 of us). Lol. No biggie.

I'm relieved that I've "fulfilled my obligation" & fully intend to ease myself out of book club. I've already mentioned how i never felt like i fit in with these women, but am i wrong to feel like they're being rude when they discuss during book club some of the "friend-y" stuff they do (of which i'm not part)? I find this a bit more annoying than the usual kids' school & activities talk....whatever, I'm done & I'm happy.

Yesterday i lazed around & the only time i got out was for lunch with bf & a dog walk. It was hot & humid with periods of rain all day. Bf went out with friends in the evening & i stayed home to continue with my slothfulness - tv, reading & sleep. Wait, i did my challenge, so it wasn’t a completely lazy day, lol.

Today so far i read some more & made some blueberry muffins. Bf will like them - not too sweet.

The rest of the day will be my pedi and a dog walk. Dunno what else.

Ceejay – Hope work is quiet for you today. I was in no mood for outdoor work yesterday - good for you gettin' it done!!

Shad – Bummer your internet is wonky...you need relaxation, not frustration!! You get enough of that at work...

Terra – I'll have to hop on the wagon with you & the others. My extra weight won't fall off by itself! Yum, I like breakfast - what did you make in class? Bf just bought some bread for making french toast (we don’t usually have white bread in the house). I grew up eating pancakes on the occasional Sunday, not french toast, but they're tasty too.

Susie – Yeh, the paperwork just piles up AND UP!! Never ends. Speaking of up...how was the balloon ride? I hope it was a go & that you & dh enjoyed it.

Happy – Great to have some insurance money to help with the repairs. That’s part of what causes worries now - big expenses like that. It's even more worrisome in retirement - depending on your lifestyle, there could still be the big unexpected housing repairs and maintenance. And property taxes will always be there & always going up. Cars need to be maintained, repaired & eventually replaced...so much to save for. Good you're conservative with your spending! How did the sale go yesterday??

Dee - What great news about dh's remission!! With people living longer now, the concept of retirement is going to change. Hopefully I can work longer, but at something more fulfilling than my current job...

Hellos to Michelle and Annie! :wave:

Okay, time to get my feet out of the foot spa & grab a quick shower. Enjoy what's left of your weekends ladies. :) :) :)

Laura ~ We had eggs,biscuits and gravy,Sausage Patties, Raisen and Cinnamon bread, Strawberries with a little sugar and Hash Browns. I had everything but the eggs and bread.

Unfortunately we have had a power outage from 2 to 4 p.m. At least I had a quiet morning. There was a problem at one of the substations. Yep, my power was out at home too. But thankfully on at the plant. The Mayor's power was out also. He called up here.

Terra
Yum on the breakfast. I love gravy, eggs and biscuits. But I don't eat that very often. Did your FitDay sight change?

-----
Trying to let my nerves settle down. Had to monitor from different gauges cause both water towers electronic systems were down. I hate to do that. It' s much easier to read the amount in feet rather than the pressure. The well pumps didn't come on when they were called for so I had to call the maintenance man to go check those. All he did was reset them, thank goodness.
Did find out something today. I can still sprint! I needed to know if the level was reading correctly on another tank here on sight. It was. The maintenance man drove up and saw me. Think I worried him cause he came running too. That tank was lower than what it should have been but I'm in the process of filing it back up. We really need another person up here in cases like this. Then when the power came back on, one of my bosses called and told me to get the stand by out to check the lift stations. I was in the process of doing that when he called. I was waiting confirmation from the lineman. I have a headache.

Monday...bleh....

Well when I went to pick Sissy up for shoe shopping on Saturday her BF told me he called her dad and asked him to walk her down the aisle. I know you all don't know everything from that marriage, but I am very hurt by this. He was never there as a dad, was physically and verbally abusive to me and verbally abusive to the kids, owes me 12 grand in back support that I will never see, I am still paying on a parent loan for Sissy's college, on and on. I know grow up, put on my big girl panties and move one and I had until this. Yet again, I let this b-hole steal my joy for an entire evening as I had a complete melt down on Saturday night for about 4 hours. Was pretty much in a miserable state yesterday. Today is a little better. I prayed like no other yesterday.

I did find some shoes, or so I thought, got them home and decided I did not like them. Going to take them back. Back to the drawing board. Ainsley found some shoes also. She is now complete with her outfit. Her dress is gorgeous and she looks fabulous in it. Little squirt is almost as tall as Sissy. SIssy is 5'2" and Ains is just a half a head shorter than her.

I did terrible with food this weekend, needless to say I went to Olive Garden twice over the weekend. No breadsticks but salad and portabello ravioli. Not diet friendly. Did not lose any when I weighed this morning, yet I did not gain. I have to get with it. Today is a new day. Had to hard boiled eggs this morning, 1 oz of cheese and a banana. Ate the banana as I am surely low on potassium, crampy legs every night.

CEEG....wow what a weekend you had at work. Dang storms, we have had our of them too. So much flooding and flash flooding in the area. One grocery store was closed due to the parking lot and front store area flooded. Get these 4 days over so you can rest.

SHADDIE...poor woman, you are really need some you down time sister. What frustration you are dealing with at that job, weather, internet connections. Hugs sister.

TERRA...your breakfast sounded yummy but not very diet friendly and a lot of bread/biscuits...glad you did not eat the biscuits.

LAURA....one down, one to go. Book club over now colon prep. May the force be with you but not too forceful. lol. I got a pedi on Friday evening. I couldn't stand looking at my toes. Not that I look at them much, but yuck. Hope you were able to get your pedi and enjoyed it. I turn my phone off and lean back and close my eyes the entire time. I don't want to talk, no sirree. Sides I cannot understant them half the time anyway.

HAPPY...were you dogs screaming after your day at the shop? That is a lot of hours to be on your feet. Glad things are handed off, now you can concentrate on you my sister friend. YOU!!! Nice of DH to grill chops for you when you got home...yum!

SUSIE...sounds like you got a lot accomplished at home and OMG how was the balloon ride? I am afraid of heights so I will probably never do that. I don't mind going high if you come right back down, but not going up and staying there. How old are your brother's kiddos?

CHELLE...how is the house sitting going? Are you and Santa enjoying yourselves?

DEE...HOORAH on DHs remission. What great news. How are you feeling? I probably will not be able to retire until I am 65, 66 or 67. Depending on funds and insurance. Long ways away, but I am sure it will go very fast, just as the first 55 years have gone. How the heck did I get to 55?

Hello to anyone I may have missed. Better get this posted, it is my dreaded Monday of yuck at work. Thankfully my boss is in Chicago Tues & Weds, maybe I will get a bit of a breather.

Make it a great day, and if you wouldn't mind saying a prayers for my sanity, that would be most appreciated.

Hugs..

Laura705 07-20-2015 12:02 PM

Morning all.

Terra – Yum, breakfast sounded tasty. I’ve never had biscuits and gravy. Did you like it?

Ceejay – A workday where you needed to sprint doesn’t sound good at all! Too much going on…I’m not surprised you needed to calm your nerves and had a headache after that day. I think we need to be grateful to those who make sure water comes out when we turn on the faucet! :D

Annie- I think you’re entitled to a meltdown, even though I know you wish you could just feel nothing when the ex’s name/activities come up. But you're bound to him through your kids and that's not gonna end. :( :hug: Sorry the shoes aren’t “the ones”. Back to the store(s) for more hunting. Good luck with that. I was able to get my pedicure yesterday, thank goodness. It’s not the best job I’ve ever seen, but better than anything I can do myself. I likely won’t go back there – there was a strong chemical odor in there when I walked in. Re not understanding them – I get that completely and experienced it yesterday myself, but I'm okay with the language barrier. I don’t go there for chitchat, I like flipping through the celebrity gossip magazines, lol.

Hellos to the rest of you, and happy Monday/Tuesday!
--
After my pedi yesterday, bf and I went out for lunch at our local taqueria. I ate a burrito, and ate the whole thing instead of taking some home like I normally do. I was full, but it was probably for the best because I ended up having a frozen Smart Ones entree for dinner, which is never enough. After that I had some leftover chips/salsa/guac and fruit salad from book club. I made some lemon jello last night to have for today’s prep.

I’m hoping today flies by. I had a light breakfast – one fried egg, a slice of toast & a bit of OJ. And that’s it for anything solid today. I brought a carton of chicken broth and a couple servings of jello with me to work. And the prep sheet said hard candy was okay, so I brought some of that.

I’m leaving work at around 3:30 to get an earlier train since my prep starts at 5 pm.

Tomorrow’s appoint is at 9:30 and I have to be there at 8:30. It would be nice to sleep in with no alarm tomorrow, but I’ll have to get up at 5 am for part two of the prep. Dang.

Bf has told me I'll never be as ravenous as I will after the procedure and thinks I’ll want to go to the closest restaurant to eat, but I’m thinking I’ll be more selective. Of course reading about Terra’s breakfast and Annie’s Olive Garden today, both sound really good to me right now. Knowing that lunch is coming up and I have a mug of broth and maybe some jello to look forward to is a bummer. I’m such a whiner!! I’ll stop now, get this posted and immerse myself in some work.

Adios for now. :wave:

diyana 07-20-2015 01:58 PM

Happy Monday ladies,

No time to even breathe! I got up at the butt-crack of dawn....actually well before dawn (at 4:30) so I could walk the dogs, drop Santa at Day Care and get to the gym before 6 am.

After a very intense workout with the group and my trainer, I got myself cleaned up and got to work just before the 8 am conference call meeting. thankfully, I got a haircut before my friend's 50th birthday party on Saturday. It's shorter than I'd like, but it is bringing out the natural newly found curl (that first appeared in my mid to late 40s). The natural curl made it easier to just wash and condition it this morning, spritz a little hairspray and scrunch it into place. I haven't been to the rest room yet this morning, so I don't know if it looks good or like a mop. :rofl: My step-mom touched up my color yesterday...went with "golden blonde" rather than "strawberry blonde" as the strawberry is sometimes too reddish...and there's not time before the reunion for it to tone down.

I've only got a couple more evenings of the house and dog sitting...which is fine by me because one of my friend's roommates is a bit of a beotch. My friend doesn't 100% trust this beotch of a roommate to watch her dog to make sure she doesn't get out...but since I have my own trip to get ready for, I'm turning the duties over to her and the other roommate starting Wednesday evening. The other roommate is very sweet.

Work is crazy busy too...SO much to get done this week and next, and I'm only here 4 days both weeks (since I'm taking Friday and Monday off for the family reunion).

I hope y'all are doing well.

Much love,

ceejay52 07-20-2015 04:48 PM

Tried to post a few minutes ago but it wouldn't take. I'm trying again.

Laura
Good luck on the colonoscopy. You will do fine.

Annie
Hugs, Hope things work out for the best.

Michelle
You sound so excited for your upcoming trip to visit with family. Are you taking Santa with you?

-----
Forgot to mention that the power outage was caused by a sub station malfunction. I really caught the phone calls also. Seemed like 60 calls per minute x's 2 hours. They were getting hot irate.
Today so far is much better.

Hope this post

Terra1984 07-20-2015 08:18 PM

Ceejay52 ~ What's a fit day?

Annie ~ Yeah cooking class usually isnt diet friendly

Laura ~ Yes I love biscuits and gravy

Went to my appt. and then I did the dishes and thats the only things I've done today. I still need to work out and clean the bathroom.

annie175 07-21-2015 08:53 AM

Tuesday, oh Tuesday....

If you remember I report that since June 1st we have had 12 inches of rain-new count, since JULY 1st we have had 12 inches of rain with 9 days left in this month and more rain predicted. We are looking into the price of arks, lol

Last night Curtis wanted tator tots and chicken tenders for dinner. I jumped right on that. Threw them on a cookie sheet and into the oven. 12 minutes later dinner was done. Glad I was not hungry and did not eat. Too carby for me. A load of laundry and off to bed.

I am holding my own on weight. Still at the 25 lb down mark. Hoping to get the rest of this off. Wedding is in 8 weeks. Yikes. Kind of scary. I thought it was 6 weeks but I miscounted, thankfully.

CEEG...that is a lot of phone calls in two hours, were your ears burning or did they just fall off? Glad it is over and things are settling down for you. No wonder you had a headache.

CHELLE...you hair sound very cute and with the curl, weighloss and new attitude, you are smoking hot girl.

LAURA...to me, any pedicure that I don't have to do, is a fine one. lol. My hair and my toes getting messed with relaxes me. Speaking of which I have a hair cut tonight, awww the shampooing, if only it last longer. I know your colonoscopy is going well and all will be fine. Said a little prayer for you...and many hugs through this ordeal.

Hello's to the rest of youse. Make it a terrific Tuesday...Hugs

diyana 07-21-2015 09:53 AM

Laura - Thinking of you today for your procedure. For me, the worst part was the prep the night before.

If I don't get to it before Friday, I'm going to catch up with you all then. I'll have an hour or two waiting at the airport. I'm not taking my laptop...but I will have my tablet which is easier to type on than my phone.

Much love and big hugs to all,

Laura705 07-21-2015 02:41 PM

Afternoon all. Thanks for your well wishes. The colonoscopy is all over & done with. All went well. Two polyps removed & will be biopsied. The prep was no fun, and I doubt I'll want to drink anything raspberry flavored ever again, lol. Sure was effective though. Good thing that isn't a flavor I like much. The hunger wasn't as bad as I thought - I was worried I'd get a headache. Guess the tea, broth & jello were just enough to avoid that.

Immediately after the procedure we went out to breakfast, and after another shower, I'm now in the backyard relaxing on the chaise lounge, ice water at my side. It's a beautiful day, the nicest one in quite a while. Gonna enjoy reading for a bit. I might nap as well - had to get up early for part 2 of the prep this morning.

===

Michelle - Your hair sounds cute - do you like it? Hope your friend's dog will be okay w/ the roommates.

Ceejay– That’s a lot of phone calls, what a pita. Hope today's going well. When you mentioned fitday do you mean my fitness pal instead?

Terra - How's your Tuesday going?

Annie - Nice easy dinner. We don’t eat chicken tenders, but every once in a while we have the onion flavored tater tots, yum. Great job maintaining your loss!! Keep it up!! Enjoy your hair cut/ shampoo tonight. :)

Hellos & hugs to the rest of you! :wave: :grouphug:

ceejay52 07-21-2015 05:14 PM

Laura
Yes, I did mean my fitness pal. But for some reason I went to fitday. Oh well. I'm back to my fitness pal. Glad things went well with the colonoscopy. You were lucky that your "drinK' was flavored. They said mine was 7 up but it was far from it.

Terra
I did mean my fitness pal. Just on the wrong web sight.

Is Happy starting prep for her cataract surgery? Or is she just busy.

-----
Today has gone good so far but I'm watching the radar as some clouds are moving in. We were hit with a hard thunderstorm last night but thankfully I wasn't here. I was home. I didn't go to bed until it passed.
I'm really geared up to lose another 10 pounds for the month of August.

annie175 07-22-2015 07:44 AM

Good Morning Ladies....

My hair turned out great. Trying to let the back grow a bit to do the frindgy look. Not too long but enought to look right. Came home and made salsbury steak, roasted cauliflower and mashed taters. Didn't eat the taters. C loved it and there is enough for him to have today for lunch (Wednesday is his day off).

Sassy was in a squirrly mood all night long. She had us up 5 times to go outside. Don't dare not take her, we decided she was just wanting out to wander around and play. Lil turd. I went to the couch around 3 and took her with me then put a stop that business. Needless to say I am quite slow moving and pooped today.

HAPPY...I am sorry I cannot remember when your surgery is, thought it was the last week in July. Anyway, if that is where you have been the past few days, I hope all went well. Unless that last day at the shop took all your strength.

CEEG...gald you were at home for the last storm and not taking 60 calls an hour at work.

LAURA...so happy all came out well<--- no pun intended...well maybe. Are you back at work today?

CHELLE...have a fab time at the family reunion.

Must get busy, yucky report day AGAIN!

Hugs

miniDoodles 07-22-2015 07:51 AM

Laura, Thanks :smug: for the update, its nice to only have that test every 10 yrs :D my GI doc said. I'm sure your results r normal :hug: I like how u spent your day, the rest of your summer will b fantastic now.

Ceej, Good luck w your next 10# goal. You're pretty wise to make that commitment during the ice cream months :p

Michelle, Your hair sounds adorable & cool :cool: I hope u post a pic here soon.

Gotta get off now girls, I just heard the FedEx truck in our long driveway :wave:

Terra1984 07-22-2015 09:17 AM

Michelle ~ You never answered my question about your VB work out dvd. Did you ever try it? If you did do you like it?

Laura ~ My Tuesday went good. Scott and his parents and I went to his work to buy Scott some t-shirts for work and then we went to dinner. We had a nice time visiting.

Ceejay52 ~ Oh okay

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Woke up at 5:25 a.m. this morning because of the phone but I was gonna get up at 5:30 anyway so it wasnt a big deal. I havent done much so far today. I need to fold and put away my clothes and do the dishes and of course work out, I'm gonna try to work out twice today. Once in the morning and again at night before I go to bed. Thats my goal anyway.
Laura705 07-22-2015 11:15 AM
Morning all.
Ceejay – I need to get back to MFP and start tacking the extra pounds again. The prep drink was gross. At the first sip, I sort of thought “This isn’t too different than Nyquil, I can handle this.” But then I discovered the aftertaste was absolutely vile. Then I was just drinking it as quickly as I could to get it done with. I hope you didn’t get any more severe weather!
Annie – Glad you like your haircut. Sorry Sassy interrupted your sleep last night – little brat! Once in a great while Coal will get us up in the middle of the night to go out. Usually after bf decided he didn’t want to wake Coal up to go out for his final potty break of the night. And sometimes I think Coal doesn’t really have to go, he just wants the usual treat bf got into the habit of giving him after he comes back in the house, lol. And that’s what happens when you make those treats a habitual thing instead of random. :rolleyes: Anyway….hope you get a good night’s rest tonight. Yeh, I’m back at work today. Hump day. If only the downhill part of the week would go fast like a roller coaster.
Dee – I hope my biopsy results are normal. I think I will likely have to have colon screening more frequently because of the polyps, and also because of a family history. We’ll see. But I’m definitely planning to make the rest of the summer a bit more fun for myself!!! :carrot: How about you – any other fun plans with your hubby and/or the grandkiddies?
Terra – Hope you get in both workouts today. I think I need to get to the rec plex and buy my group fitness class punchcard – the longer I put it off, the harder it is to get back into the exercise habit. Though I'm still working through my 30-day fitness challenge.
Happy – Sorry, I can’t remember your exact surgery dates either, except late July for the 1st one and the 2nd one two weeks later. Hope you’re getting all your volunteer obligations and other appointments, etc. taken care of now. How’s your tooth? Have you gotten in to see the dentist yet?? I hope you’re not in any pain or anything from that.
Shad – Quote for you: “Life is a grindstone, and whether it grinds a man down or polishes him up depends on the stuff he's made of” Josh Billings (American Humorist, 1818-1885) Hope work is going well and you are not ground down!
Michelle - Hope your week is going well and you are on track. If I recall, today is your last day at work and tomorrow you are off to the reunion. Before I forget, wishing you safe travels and a fun time with the family. :)
~~~~~

Nothing much to report. Back to work today. The admin’s out today through Friday, so it’ll be quiet here.

I’m on day 15 of the ab & squat challenge. I mentioned there’s only rest days every 9 days, but there are a lot of light days (fewer reps) interspersed with heavier ones), so that helps.

One of the tomato plants has finally got some ripening tomatoes on it! I don’t think there’s any rain in the forecast for the next couple days, so I better do some watering tomorrow. I think I read something where someone said they don’t buy squash or zucchini longer than 8 inches in length, so that might be my harvesting guideline for the squash.

That’s about it for me. Have a good day.
:flow1:

happy2bme 07-22-2015 11:51 AM

Morning all,

Sorry I haven't been here. The mornings have been very busy and I don't have much time to get on the computer. Usually I have my morning coffee and check things out. Lately though every morning DH has started talking and talking and talking. By the time he gets done, it's time for me to move on. So honestly, that's why I have not posted.

We are trying to figure out colors for the house - roofing, siding and a new deck. While I would don't require an exact match, it would be nice to get something that works with everything else instead of 4 disparate colors. The outside front of the house is divided in half by a deck floor to roof multi gray toned fireplace. Current house color is gray with dark gray roof, brown cedar gazebo and deck tinted with gray stain. We were looking at a blue gray siding but you have to have something to pull out the blue tones, otherwise it looks gray. They have roofing shingle with a blue tone in them but for some odd reason, you can only get those on the east coast. :shrug: We have about 7 mostly neutral colors we can get here. They advised not to get black because that makes it almost impossible to determine storm damage should you get hail or wind damage going forward. Some of the gray tones have a bit of underlying brown or green tones to them. It has been a pain in the neck. And it sort of explains why so many of the houses with siding look all the same out here.

I have been chasing down the last of the supplies I needed for our next Humane Society fundraiser. That was an ordeal too. All is in place now. I popped out a back crown while flossing. Went to the dentist and he tried to cement that in but it would not hold so he had to put a post in my jaw - not quite as bad as an implant but similar. Glued the tooth to that. Said it won't be as sturdy as the original but it save me almost $1,000 so we will try it out. One of the ladies I volunteered with at the thrift shop had shoulder surgery. She came home and her brother went to check on her and found her dead. We don't know what happened yet - we are all thinking she might have passed a blood clot. She was only 56 but not in the best of health. Funeral is today. My garden is rather raggety. I have a few small cucumbers coming in and all the tomato plants have tomatoes on them but they are small and green. I supposed they are where they should be for this time of year. Out of 12 sweet pea plants, only 3 are doing anything - the rest have withered. And the arugula and cilantro has bolted so that's done with. A disappointing garden this year.

DH just came in and said he put a big scrape in the back of the new car. He opened the hatch to get something out and forgot to close the door. When he closed the garage door it caught the hatch and scraped the whole door. 2 big scratches all the way from top to bottom. I will keep my thoughts to myself.

I went to the doctor yesterday for my pre-op exam. I had to see the nurse practitioner as the doctor was out of the office. This is the same one who couldn't figure out that I had the shingles. She inspires no confidence. Fortunately the pre-op exam is mostly about asking health questions and listening to my heart. She is a dingle brain. I specifically asked for a refill on my thyroid medicine and said twice - it needs to go to mail order. Just like you have been doing all along since it's a maintenance drug. So I get home later that day and my local pharmacy calls with a refill for me to pick up. :mad: I really like my doctor a whole lot but I think it's time to switch to the other clinic where DH goes. This week has just been a bunch of aggravation.

We are supposed to go berry picking tomorrow - I'm almost afraid to leave the house. :yikes:

Terra - have you got back on the wagon and are eating clean again? I see you are working out - good for you.

Annie - my first surgery is scheduled for Wednesday of next week. I have just been kind of busy trying to take care of everything and keep getting interrupted. I am better posting in the morning. Your hair sounds really cute - I think fringy looks good with a shorter cut. It's fun to play around - especially in the summer when you don't have to worry about "hat hair". Maybe Sassy just wanted to go out and enjoy the nice evening ;) Good luck with that report. I can totally understand your frustration with the ex walking Sissy down the aisle. Was that her wish? Why did her BF call the ex? My Mom has great resentment to my Dad but my sister and I did not have the same experience. Sometimes that makes things complicated. I am sorry it caused you pain but totally understandable. Just give up your suffering to God that day and get through it best you can and keep him out of AS MANY PICTURES AS POSSIBLE. ;) I hope you find shoes too.

Ceejay- 10 pounds is a great goal. I hope you are most successful. I guess you will have to starting thinking about how you will substitute all that walking you do in your job now once you retire. Maybe you can dog walk :D

Laura - I'm glad the colonoscopy went well for you. Was thinking about you all day. Glad you had some time to relax afterwards. At least that's done for a long time. I had orange flavored stuff. Are you back at work today?

Michelle - sounds like it's time to consider a new cut and style. I know it's hard to give up the long hair but go with whatever gives you more volume.

Ok, DH is back with siding samples so I have to go. Hellos to the rest of the chicks. Later girls. :wave:

MyChoice2bfit 07-22-2015 09:20 PM

Hi Ladies, It was back to work for me today and DH and I took off Monday and Tuesday for a bit of a mini vacation.

I didn't get to take my hot air balloon ride on Saturday due to storms coming in. They called at 5:30 p.m. and said it was cancelled.

I was so disappointed. :( I really thought I might cry. We are rescheduled for Aug 2 with a makeup date of Aug 9 if Aug 2 doesn't work.

My nephews (they are 4 and 5) were disappointed to. They were looking forward to "cashing the balloon". So, we all went to see the Minion movie. I had the most fun watching my nephews watch the movie and we went for ice cream after. Then on the way home, about 9 p.m. we had a very scary storm. It was so dark and so much rain and wind! I asked DH to get off an exit ramp and we sat in a parking lot by a Target for almost 1 1/2 hours while that storm just went on and on.

Sunday we went to Lens Crafters to get new glasses for DH. He broke his on Sunday morning and has to have them. He did have his work pair but he didn't want to wait until Monday to go in so we went on Sunday.

Wow are glasses expensive! He was due for new ones as the ones he had were just about 2 yrs old.

We went to the Cincinnati Reds Game on Monday night and the won so it was fun. I like going to the ball park and watching people.

Yesterday we went with some friends to Wright Patterson Air Force Museum.
I haven't been in years and I enjoyed the time looking and being with our friends.

I have workout out (bike for 20 min, then doing my PT exercises) Sunday, Monday and today. It's amazing how much energy I get when I workout.

Laura: I'm so glad to hear the colonoscopy went well and is over with. My DH was so hungry after his, we did go to the closest restaurant which was a Ihop.

Happy: I find it hard to pick out paint, I can't imagine trying to pick out all the colors you need to pick out.
I put your surgery next week on my calendar so I won't forget it. I want to keep you in my prayers.

Michelle: your hair sounds very cute.

Terra: Did you get your 2nd workout in today?

Ceejay: Yeah for you that you can still sprint!! :carrot: I need to get back to My Fitness Pal. I have been working out this week and want to get that down for the next 2-3 weeks and then I'll get back on My Fitness Pal. That's my plan.

I always take on too much, then feel overwhelmed if I can't get to it that day and the I throw in the towel, so I'm trying this approach this time.

Annie: :hug: The ex issue sounds frustrating for sure.
Any luck with that dang report?

Hi to Shad and Dee.

Happy the day before TGIF...

Went over to my nephew's house (bro with cancer's son) to see his new digs. Very cute starter home. He and his GF got it for a bargain. It is worth about 125K but only paid 83K. They had to put about 10K into it on repairs and appliances. They don't plan on staying there more than 5 years. THey will make a profit for sure, unless the market bottoms out again. If it does they don't have to move and it is in a very nice neighborhood and school district.

After that I stopped at Li's Garden and got C pork fried rice and crab rangoon, I passed on Chinese cause it always bloats me and I feel like crap the next day. He loves it and ate the entire small container of rice and 8 crab rangoon. I don't know where he puts it all in his 6 ft, 178 lb body. Big brat. If I ate that I would gain 5 lbs for sure. Men have it better on the WL issue, imo.

SUSIE....your few days off sounded fun. I would love to go see the minion movie. Maybe take Jacob, not sure he would like it if it doesn't have cars, trains or Mickey Mouse in it. lol. Sorry no balloon ride, bummer. My dad took one in his early 60's. My mom followed in the car. She wanted no part of being up in the sky. You know she never ever flew in an airplane either. Your ride is sure to happen next time and you will love it. Glad DH got his glasses replaced and yes glasses are expensive. Even with insurance, you still spend a mountain of money. Got the report out, so far no beeeatching back from it.

HAPPY....any luck on color choices? I can't even decide on a color for one room in the house, much less what all you are going through. Make it all pink, it is such a lovely color. lol Your garden sounds like my garden, one big bummer. Makes me not want to do it next year. I am with you on switching doctors, if they cannot even remember what they talked with you about, that would make me feel they don't care much about me. What a ding dong. How is your tooth holding up?

LAURA...how is the ab/squat challenge coming along? Any repercussions from the colonoscopy? Everything flowing ok? We are to have great weather till Saturday night, then another storm is to come in. Of course it is because the Brickyard 400 Nascar race is on Sunday. Rainy brickyard again. It is either 1000000 degrees or rainy for the race.

TERRA...getting all your exercising in?

DEE...how are you feeling? You might need to slow down a bit and let your body rest. Hugs sister.

CHELLE...is off on her mini-vacation to visit family...

SHADDIE...are you duct taped to a chair or did you escape the crazies?

CEEG...How is work? Still crazy?

Make it a great day/night before TGIF

Hugs to all.

Hi ladies,

I am very excited about my long weekend to visit my family. Today is my last work day. After work, I'm getting my nails done and having dinner with D. I have to be at the airport by 5:30 or so tomorrow morning. :faint: I'm flying into LA and renting a car for the 2 hour drive to San Diego. Hopefully the traffic between the two cities won't be too bad. It was a lot cheaper to fly into LA and since the reunion on Sunday is closer to LA anyway, and I'm staying with friends Sunday night, it didn't make sense to drive back to San Diego.

Got a ton of work to get done today. I'm not taking my laptop on the trip, but I am taking my Kindle Fire tablet, so hopefully I can post from it.

Much love,
