Hello Ladies,

We'll friday night I had a lot of treaters... but not enought to get rid of all my candy. So of course I ate quite a bit of it on saturday & sunday. But today I have started back on phase 1 of SBD. I'm going to try and stay on ph1 for at least 2 weeks. I sure hope I don't get the headaches that I got the last time when I started the phase. I guess if it do then that means I'm having sugar withdrawls. I also have committed to exercising... right now i'm committing to walking the dog every day & either treadmill or tae bo 3 times this week.

Nita - WTG for hiding the scales. I know I get on mine everyday. I'm like Cat, I wish you could bottle some of your energy and send it my way.

LittleChick - start back on SBD with me!

Mooz - sorry to hear that you were not kept on, but like you said that gives you more time for painting & walking.

Cat - Good news that you DMiL will be home soon & that you DH is getting of out of his collar. Insurance finally approved my orthodics & I'll be getting a new pair soon. I'm hoping that will help my feet.

Thin, Mitchellez, Hal, ChaCha - hope you all are having a great day!

thinlizzie 11-03-2003 02:04 PM

hey chicks~~
Just getting a short post on here now, they are calling for a winter storm(8 to 12 inches!) for parts of the U.P...and of course that would be including where i live! :dizzy: Now i'm really ready to pack that motor home and go, but DH is not yet to that point.
It's kinda exciting when the first big snow comes, especially when i don't HAVE to get out and drive in it.

~~LC~~hope you don't get the headaches when you start back on the SBD either...i still am eating my share of the sugar and starches, not at all ready to commit i guess! Get the kids to pack that candy off to school or something so it's outta your sight. That is so hard when you do get some trick-or-treaters. We don't get any, so i didn't buy any. Only what i bought just for me and that is that darn indian corn.(the ones w/the chocolate on the top). Good thing that will be outta the stores now. I am addicted to them.

I'm still not feeling quite over my cold, my DH is so nice, he is doing all my chores today so i can really try to rest and get it to leave my system. I have certainly been doing that part!

The birds and everything outside seem to know a storm is coming, they are really feeding heavy at the feeders. Got to put out a little more. Then i'm going to stop feeding so they disperse before we go. I don't want them in the area once we leave. They'll have time to go find new feeders.

Bye for now! :grouphug: thinlizzie

Hi chickies. Thanks for all the good advice I certianly need it. I did nothing again today but eat eat eat. But I did do 20 mins on the treadmill this morning. I am going to get back on track tomorrow. I pledge this to myself. I have been feeling rotten. I think it is all that darn sugar back in my system. So I am going to do it.

Nita thanks for the encourgement. Good luck with bowling. DH and I took the girls a few weeks ago and played a few strings. we had a blast. I didn't do to well I think my average for 2 strings was 67 70 somewhere around there.

oneday- I am with you. Or I will be there tomorrow. We can do it. Have a great day.

cat- I did manage to get 20 minutes on the treadmill. Hopefully I will get my butt back on there tomorrow.

Thin- pray I won't get any headaches.

Have a great night my chickies. :)

thinlizzie 11-03-2003 10:09 PM

Just wishing you all a great night and back on plan tomorrow for all of us!

My sinus' feel just a bit better today, i hope that continues!

Most of all i want to feel good enough to start some kind of exercising again! And instead of going on the scale too often, i've not checked in often enough, so tomorrow i will do a weigh in. Now that TOM is ended. should be a more true figure.

1DAY~~i think it was you who asked about the net carb thing...it's my understanding that for some of these SBD or Atkins(or both??) plans ...if there is fiber in the product, you subtract those from the carbs and get your net carbs. That gives you a few more to play with during the day to keep it to a minimum #.

Forgot to say that the Halloween party was fun. I could have stopped at one piece of pizza, but i wanted to try the veggie one...so i ended up eating 2. But ate lots of raw veggies instead of the pretzels/chips/nachos that were also on the buffet table!
None of her friends/coworkers could make it. So it ended up being all relatives, but we still enjoyed the night.

It stopped snowing for now, and we really only have a trace so far...but they do say it will start up during the night. Good news is they did lower it from a foot down to 8 inches at the most. And they might even have that estimate a little high. We can hope anyway!

Sweet Dreams all~~~

His is the second picture on page 1.

I got this in an e-mail today and I thought it would bring a smile to your little faces ........

Hi chicks!!
How is everyone? Thin, how much snow did you get?
The weather has been really crazy. Lots of rain for the last few days. But yesterday it got in the 60's. Was very warm for Nov in Wisconsin.
Well, have been under the weather for the last few days. Kinda dizzy and sick to my stomach. However am feeling much better today. However my daughter is home sick. So I have not been eating well. Kinda doing the comfort foods and feeling sorry for myself. But as of this morning I am back on track. I went to the gym and did the machines and weights. (I need to keep that positive mindset). I was doing good and then I signed up for the New Years Challenge and then let everything slip. I don't get it, I am sabatoging myself:?:
OK, back on track....
Mooz....I loved the translating English...How true:)

Good wishes to all back on SBD :cp:

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hey everyone --

I'm just starting to get over a sinus infection/bad bronchitis. And I'm going to be leaving for California a week from Friday for my dad's memorial service. So I'm going to get back on track after that. I'm just pretty wiped out -- both emotionally and physically I guess. Though I'm doing better emotionally. I'm going to speak at my dad's memorial, but I haven't written what I want to say yet. But I know more or less what I want to say and have lots of ideas and thoughts rolling around in my head, I just have to sort it out in a coherent manner.

ChaCha, Thin -- I hope you both are feeling better.

   to all of you who need them!

Sorry I don't get to check in that much. I do miss you chicks!

thinlizzie 11-05-2003 11:32 AM

Mornin' chickies~~

We only got about 1 to 2 inches of snow from this. It was raining/snowing back and forth so i don't know just how much moisture we got from it. It's now frozen and crunchy snow! Very noisy to walk on. But at least it's very minimal to deal with.

I am feeling just a bit better again today..throat gets sore off and on, but other than that the congestion part seems to be lessened. Thanks for the get well wishes.
Now i send some to both ~~MICHELLE~~and to CHACHA~~Get well soon!
I had no canned soup so i made up this concoction yesterday that of course scared DH  It had canned spinach in it, so it turned quite green in color! So he didn't think it would be too tasty i guess. I am finishing it now for my lunch and then i'm off to get my hair trimmed. And pay a bill at the CU. Still seems weird to go in there and not go back behind and do some work! :)

~~MICHELLE~~I'm sure when you get up to give your speech at your dad's memorial it will be from the heart and very touching. You hang in there! Know we are all behind you and wish you well.

Till later.... :grouphug: thinlizzie

Nita 11-05-2003 12:59 PM

Good morning everyone,

Well finally the weather here in Phoenix is "perfect." The high for today will be 73. Getting rid of the hot weather has really given me a new lease on life, and I have so much more ambition.

I'm not sure if any of you are following Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Challenge on TV, but I have to tell you this, these people are really losing their weight and most of all they are changing their attitude about food. I do have his book but have not taken the time to read it, but I am going to read it just as soon as I can fit it in. The fact that he doesn't require you to pay a fee to visit his website, I am impressed with all the good advice that is being put on the website. If you get a chance, please visit his site. The doctor who has advised Dr. Phil about nutrition suggests that we use the sweetner xylitol. Has anyone tried this? I have been using Sweet and Low for years, but according to this doctor, all the sweetners on the market have some bad ingredients.

I believe most of us are already doing what Dr. Phil suggests, however, he does have some interesting recipes as well as daily menus. One of the ladies, Terry, has lost 38.2 lbs. and she has come up with some very appealing recipes and Dr. Phil says he is going to post these recipes as well. He is also going to have a nutritionist make up some more menus. All in all, I do believe Dr. Phil is making real progress.

Well enough of my soapbox.

Take care and have a "super" week!

Anita

p.s.
      -- I am sending these angels to all of you, especially Michelle! I know you will do a good job at the memorial because you are a "wonderful" person and even more so an "awesome" daughter!

1. Take off clothing and place it in sectioned laundry basket according
to whites and coloured.

2.Walk to bathroom wearing long dressing gown.If you see husband along the way, cover up any exposed areas.

3.Look at your womanly physique in the mirror - make mental note to do more sit-ups.

5.Wash hair again to make sure it is clean. Condition hair with grapefruit mint conditioner enhanced with natural advocado oil, leave on hair for 15 minutes. Wash face with crushed apricot facial, scrub for 10 minutes until red.

Mooz, That is just tooo funny! Thanks for starting off my Thursday with a good laugh! :)

1day@atime 11-06-2003 08:58 PM

Hello ladies,

Things have been really busy here at work, trying to do my work & get ready for a volunteer project this weekend. I'm not one of the team captains, but I was busy trying to get water & soft drinks & fruit donated. I was able to get the drinks but not the fruit, so the company will have to pick up the tab for that. The weather has really turned cool here for us.. I think the low this morning was 45degrees, and I know that is not cold compared to where some of you are, but for me... it's cold. Still trying to get back on track with SBD, I did ok for two days but then today we had pizza for lunch & I ate the crust. BUT, I did pass up on the ice cream, so I wasn't as bad as I could of been.

Mitchellez - Sending you angels & hugs. I'm sure the memorial will be just beautiful.

Mooz - just love yesterday & today's articles. They made me laugh too... so true!

Nita - I have listened to a few of his shows & i'm thinking I would like to get his book. I'm know alot of his info. is on feeling, & how we feel about ourselves.

Thin - hope your feeling better.

Chacha, Cat, Hal, LittleChick - Hope you all are having a great day!

thinlizzie 11-06-2003 09:52 PM

Evenin' Chicks~~
Thanks for thinking of me 1day...i'm feeling a bit better, but still have the sore throat. I wonder how long it can hang on. At least i can do things w/o getting winded again. It was down in my chest and that seems to be gone! Thank God!
When the weather changes it is hard to adjust. I'm sure 45 is feeling cold. I remember when it had been in the 60's and then got down to the 40's...i too was freezing. But now i can really complain..it did not break the freezing mark of 32F today! and it's not supposed to for at least 2 more days:( Yikes! there are clear skies and nearly a full moon to really make it cold at night...now i'm packing my shorts and such into the motorhome as we will certainly not need them here. Arizona temps sound great, can't wait to arrive.

Glad you are somewhat on track again. Don't worry about the pizza, that one is hard to resist, esp. when hungry at work! Hope this weekends project turns out great. What is it for? Sponsored by your workplace?

Hi to Michelle~~glad you got a chuckle from Mooz today, as i did also. THANKS Mooz!!

Hi to all the rest of the chicks...i'll try to get back on here tomorrow.

All for now dear chicks:wave: :grouphug: thinlizzie

thinlizzie 11-07-2003 07:01 PM

Hellloooooooooo
It's tomorrow...evening! And i guess i will post to bump us up on the boards. We had a most unusual weather day, to start with it was cold all day. Like 20 degrees! brrrr...and tonight will be even colder (single digits)and not much relief during the day tomorrow. sounds like it's pretty cold all the way down to Chicago and such. Then today on & off it would cloud over and you felt like you were in a snow globe. It would just blow around, we maybe gained an inch of snow if that, but it sure seemed determined. If you had been on a highway while it was doing that you would be in serious trouble. In fact there were numerous accidents tonight from the reports on the local news.

I ate alot of mini meals today, so it seemed. But i did not plan it. Just seemed to work out that way. I hope the total of the calories wasn't too bad! It would be nice to make the plans and keep them, but things seem so nutty lately. That part was easier when we both worked our jobs---a person had to plan for lunch at work. I hope we can both do better in the warm climate of Arizona this winter. I will be looking some part time work there.
to help pay the bills.

Well chicks, i hope you all are having a nice relaxing Friday evening...can you believe its the weekend again?? Hope we hear from some of our teachers and other chicks that pop in on weekends. Miss you all!

 :grouphug: thinlizzie

Catlover777 11-08-2003 12:04 PM

good morning

Goodness--we have been a bunch of sick chickies.

Chacha, Michelle, Thin--hope you are all feeling better.

Nita--I am like you--I have Dr. Phil's book, but haven't read it. It looks good, and I need to get around to it. Must also visit his site.

Every so often I try to do some "serious" reading, and I hadn't done that for some time, so I read the new translation of The Odyssey that a local professor did. Some story!!

I will have my regular appt with my dr on Monday, so maybe he will help me get back on track.

Did I tell you DD is on WW and is doing beautifully? I am so pleased, because overweight runs in our family, and she is at risk of diabetes etc. She is eating healthy and exercising and looking on this as a way of life. Wish I had done that at her age.

Mooz--wish I could get all my housework caught up. I am not one of those who hates housework--I find it satisfying, only there are so many other things to do.

Hal,1day, anyone else--have a good weekend!
