Good Evening All You Fine Chicks:

Little Chick -- Since I just now had a chance to read your post, I will meet your challenge starting tomorrow morning. I worked all day today and I did manage to have a healthy breakfast and lunch, but I didn't drink all the water. I am so happy you gave your pep talk because as usual in the middle of each month I get frustrated with this weight thing and wish I could just be a normal person and not have to procrastinate about what to eat!

I watched the 58 lb. woman on ET again this evening and she modeled in a bathing suit of all things. This is so sad because when you look at her all you see are bones and hardly any flesh--actually she looks like she can die at any time! I really hope this doctor can get her back on track. This is really sad that someone would let themselves get to this point--but I do understand she definitely has a disease and it is way out of control.

My cold is a lot better and I even forced myself to walk on the treadmill last evening, and as soon as I get off the internet I am going to walk again. I have to admit it isn't the most exciting thing to do but after I have finished I really feel a sense of accomplishment.

Perhaps we can share some of our recipes again--it seems when I try something new it gives me incentive to stick to my program.

HalGal -- It was great to hear from you==I know you are busy but I really do love your graphics and knowing you are still with us!

Take care,
Anita

 :drill: little chick asking you chickies to report to duty.( just to be honest I borrowed this idea from another forum that I post to as well) But I do it out of our need to get our butts into gear and we will do it. So my friends again I challenge you to 1 healthy meal and your water. I just read that we need 1 glass for every 14 pounds we weigh if we are trying to lose weight. so if you wiegh 140 you would need 10 8 oz glasses per day. So girls get those cups  moving and help to cleanse out those fat cells. We can do it. :cheer: I will check in again later. You chickies rock. Take care and have a great day.

Nita 11-14-2003 11:04 AM

Hi Little Chick:

I am ready, willing and able to get started. I already had my good breakfast, and as soon as I get off the internet I am going to have a glass of water. I want to thank you for getting us motivated. I did manage to do the treadmill last evening for 35 minutes; and I will do it again this evening. My cold is almost gone so I believe I can get started cleaning my house and getting rid of those "fat" clothes.

May the rest of you ladies join us in this challenge. Remember, if we take just one step at a time; we will attain those goals we have set for ourselves. Dr. Phil made a wise statement -- when it comes to what we should weigh one size does not fit all!

OKAY LADIES, let's get going! Time is of the essence!

Take care and look forward to hearing from all of you real soon!

Anita

Thanks Little chick for keeping us on our toes. I am trying to eat healthy and drink my water but I did slip up a little this evening ............ but not too much. Tomorrow I will be strong.
I may have mentioned before that I was entering some paintings into an art exhibition and painting contest. The opening was tonight and .................................................

WOO HOO!!:D

I won 5th prize ........ I am so pleased and surprised especially after I saw some of the entries. There were 56 pictures entered and some of them were even painted by art teachers. I did one called 'Sunset at The Causeway' and it was the one I got my prize with. The fifth prize was a book on watercolours.

WOO HOO!! I'm on cloud 9!!

Nita 11-14-2003 09:49 PM

Mooz -- GREAT JOB! Recognition for things we accomplish really hits home and gives you a sense of well-being. I am also happy to see you are getting with the program. I was just watching Dr. Phil and he had a young woman in the audience who has lost over 50 lbs. in a year on her own by not only diet but exercise as well. Those of us who have good health are really "special" and by following our programs we can even have more energy and accomplish whatever we set our goals!

Take care,
Anita

little chick 11-15-2003 12:35 PM

:drill: LC here and where is everyone else. Seems pretty quite you must all be out exercising. Mooz I am so proud of you :bravo: Well girls this is a quick one I have to get the girls ready as they are in the Santa Parade. Remember to eat one healthy meal and drink your water.

Catlover777 11-15-2003 11:22 PM

Just a quick check in. I was afraid being away a few days I'd lost you all!!

Walking the dog yesterday evening (it's dark when I get back at 6:50) I fell on one of our famous Old West Lawrence sidewalks. So that discourages walking even more. Doesn't seem too bad--guess if I couldn't come up with a disease like the rest of you, I could at least check in with an injury :-), (Mooz--sounds like you're fine, but your daughter makes up for it. Hopes she's improving. Congratulations on winning in the art show!)

Sounds like DHis at the door. Better say hi to him.

Love,
Catlover

Mornin' Chicks~~
Just a quick stop-over. I had cleared out my cookies recently and then had trouble finding us! I see Jenniffer has moved us to General/ Support Groups instead of under Buddy Up. I guess it was needed. The newbies posting on Buddy Up were getting lost in all our posts. Now i know how to get here even w/o getting notified. :cheer:
The challenges sound great! Starting Monday i'm going to wear my pedometer daily too, and see how i do w/the steps. I know Monday will be easier to get a few, since i have doc appt and then will have to groc. shop. But just getting started on something is neccessary! I saw my girlfriend last night and we both know we need to start walking again. I have missed her! We seem to go in streaks--either we talk daily or we end up going for weeks w/o a word.

~~CAT~~hope you feel better soon.
~~MOOZ~~ How is Orla? And congrats on the art showing! YGG~~

Well dearies, i will check back in later on

Hey everyone...!!!

Thanks for the heads up on our new home under general support. I rarely if ever go to the main page, but would not have found us under general support!

I am counting the days until Thanksgiving break. I have a paper and two projects due in the next few weeks, and have been working the traditional 10 to 14 hour days. These long days are just doing my high school stuff, and not making a dent upon the university things! I'm trying not to stress, thinking I'll just take incompletes and finish over the holidays if I have to. My club, FCCLA had a fundraiser for the local humane society yesterday. We do this each year about this time to gather extra treats and food for the animals. Only problem this year it was only 40 degrees and rained the first 2 of 4 hours. My skin was dry and red from the weather. I attended our high school beauty pagent last night which ended about 11P. Then today... shopping for my culinary skills class to have lab and working some on my grading of papers. It is really (as in really) increcible to try to finish everything. Anyway...

I've eaten enough chocolate to make my smaller sized jeans a challenge to zip up. The good news is I got rid of my larger jeans, so I'll be getting back into the smaller ones soon. I've not had one baked potatoe or dinner roll, pizza slice or even macaroni and cheese - just CHOCOLATE. Time to get control. And drink my water...!!!!

Sorry not to post individually... but do want to say hello and I LOVE you guys...!!!

Just a quick call before work. It is a wet Monday morning but I am on a 3 day week now and only work 12 hours per week. Not too many hours but it gives me an extra bit of cash which is always useful. Orla's eye is getting better - it looks like a cut now so it is on its way out. It was a scary few days for us as we were worryiing about it getting into her eye and doing damage.
My eating was not that good over the weekend although I did have at least 1 healthy meal each day and had plenty of water so it could have been worse. Paul will be home in 2 weeks time ............. where does the time go. He has been away for about 3 months. Woops ............ gotta run ....................

The attitude you bring

Imagine how great it would be if you could go through this day doing only what you wanted to do. Though it might sound too good to be true, it's completely possible and available to you.
Just stop fighting against what you have to do, and turn it into what you want to do. You know it must be done, so why make it worse by letting it bring you down?

Who decides what makes you miserable and what makes you happy? You do, of course. Stop dreading those things you know you must get done, and start looking forward to them. The attitude you bring to them can change them completely.

Do you ever find that you know full well what needs to be done, yet you just cannot bring yourself to do it? Change it in your mind from something that has to be done into something you want to do, and you'll have no trouble at all getting to it.

It is truly as easy as it sounds, and it can make an enormous difference. Decide you want it, and you'll get it done.

Hello Ladies,
Boy... I was having some withdrawls not being able to read or post. Hope everything is going well with everyone...

mooz49 01-07-2004 02:02 PM

Thank you Suzanne & Co for getting the forums up and running again even though there are a few days missing - it is like going back in time :dizzy: Do we get to celebrate Christmas all over again??;) I'm sure the chicks who do not go to the journals were having withdrawal symptons ........ I like to dabble in both so I was glad to be able to drop into the journals yesterday.
I am having different withdrawal symptons today as I have not been for a walk and it is too windy and wet to go for one. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Eating I am doing good .......... I still have the odd longing for a cup of coffee and a chocolate biscuit but since I have now been off the bikkies for quite a good few weeks now I think I would be a bit silly to start them up again.
My working week is over again but the housework I have to do is building up so I should get stuck into that tomorrow........ maybe even tonight if I can drag myself away from 3FC!!

What you do with it

Some days are bright and others are dark. Look closely and you'll see that each one has a beauty all its own. Some activities are fun and others are a chore. Yet there is value to be found and lived and created in each and every thing you do.
Some people are a joy to be around, and others you'd rather not see. There is something of value, though, that you can learn from each person you encounter.

No one is going to dump the goodness and the treasures of life in your lap. Yet when you take the trouble to look for the truly valuable things in life, you'll find them in abundance.

This day, this moment, this life is exactly what you decide to make of it. It can be dreary and depressing, or it can be bright and magnificent.

That depends not on how this day comes to you, but on what you do with it.

hello to the chicks that have found the way back here~~~
Thank you Suzanne and all the people who help make this site available to us. For all the long hours it must have taken you to at least give us this much back. {{{{HUGS}}}}}

~~MOOZ~~Even chat room was busy last night due to so many missing these boards to post on. I did find my way to the journals again too, just to see if there was any new info there. And I do love to read Ruth's posts. Tho i don't do it daily.

Very funny about re-doing Christmas~ I think i'll just pass. We made it and look at how you are resisting those biscuits! Keep up the good work ~Mooz~ you are developing some great new healthy habits.

Just watched another wt.loss episode on Dr. Phil ...ready to go and get at least that 2nd book that gives the best foods, and some menu plans(at least that is what it sounds like). Also at Costco i'm going to buy us the next bigger size George Forman Grill, cause i do use the one that was given to us, but even for 2 people it is hard to cook it all at once. Like say fish, we usually eat pretty good sized pieces each, and you'd be at it for awhile on the small one. They make them for big families too, so i will try to find the right size for our needs. We don't want to haul a big gas grill, but yet I need something for "grilling", so i thought this would/could work out great. AND not take us so much space as a gas grill.

I have gotten this cold into my chest and i still have time to see a doctor before we go, so tomorrow i will go and hopefully he can prescribe some good drug to aid me in getting well. This is going to be one long journey to Arizona, with both of us being sick. Please all you great chicks, keep us in your prayers.

Love to you all :hugs: :grouphug:  thinlizzie
P.S. I might still get to post one more time. Hope to see more chicks finding us again too
